Liverpool have beaten Chelsea to sign teenager Oluwaseyi Ojo from MK Dons.

Sportsmail revealed last month how Chelsea had agreed a £2million fee for the 14-year-old.

Chelsea were confident they had won the race to sign Ojo after agreeing a deal with the League One side but Liverpool have pipped them to the England Under 16 midfielder.
And sources close to Ojo have told Sportsmail the teenager feels he will have more chance of breaking into the first team at Anfield.
MK Dons chairman Pete Winkelman said: 'This is the opportunity of a lifetime for Seyi and his parents which has proved far too difficult to turn down. Everyone at the club would like to wish Seyi the best of luck and we all look forward to the day he runs out at Anfield.'
Liverpool are also maintaining an interest in Wycombe Wanderers striker Jordan Ibe, 15.
They face competition from Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United

I love the way fans are so interested about signining some 14 year old Ojo, who we beat the Chav's too, and think it's great for the future, but don't give Jordan Henderson a chance?! The guy is the captain of the England U21's and is one of their best players. He wasn't bought for the now, he is the long term replacement foe Sevie G, and in 3 years time, you numpties who slagged him off, are gonna be eating your words. bit like Lucas?!.... Rafa was right and you's were all wrong. Maybe that's why they are highly decorated managers and you's are all armchair idiots.

Ok, lets put this in perspective. He's a striker not a midfielder and so won't be competing with Henderson. So I think you'll find Mr Anonymous that your facts are wrong!

Dont get to exited as he is odds on to be released by liverpool before he is 17 as with the many other youngsters that we snap up

That's funny he played in an academy match against spurs for MJ dons & lined out in defence spurs whacked 11 past them another dud

He is 14 so of corse need time at least 3 year. and dont say henderson cant proof anything in 3 years. chelsea and man u want him so sure he have class. good job kenny and Co.

Good that the club is actively pursuing talented youngsters. But very few make it, so hard to get excited by any one such signing.

Strong rumours here in Scotland that McGeady is on the radar after impressing in the Republic's playoff matches against Estonia. I have rarely seen a player with quicker feet, or one with as much raw potential just waiting to be tapped. Also, his behaviour abroad has been watched and it is believed he has matured. (He's just also become a father as well) As long as the price is below 18m LFC will be interested.

Dun Dee

Plzzzzzz god no! I'm Irish but no no no! Hes not good enough! No end product!

If we where to sign mcgeady , then that to me gives a massive indication on where our club is going...
And that's Fecking nowhere..

LAVERS

McGeady!!!!! Id almost prefer us to sign Zinadine Kilbane.

No offence to McGeady but he is a one trick pony who struggles to get into the Irish team. He fails to deliver an end product on an incredibly consistent basis. I would prefer James Forrest from Celtic to McGeady any day of the week, (younger, eager to learn, more potential and works harder).

Potential ?? He is 26 next birthday . What is your definition of '' potential '' , you can borrow my dictionary .

Nearly fell off my chair laughing
'interested if fee below £18m, you could buy the whole of Celtic and Rangers for £18m FFS, and that would be over priced'

go to school son..
Beggers

He plays in moscow not glasgow

I watch Mcgeady regularly for R.O.I. and while i think hes a good player hes not a great player,frustrating as hell to watch and produces very little end product,the Irish squad doesnt have anyone to match him for pace and trickery but Liverpool could certainly do better {Ed031's Note - I've no doubt Liverpool could do better than McGeady, I think he's terrible. I watched him in the SPL for years and wondered how he managed to command such a transfer fee.}

Are you saying he is up not up to maxi`s high standards?

Which is interesting because he actually plays in russia

For those of you thick enough to mention that he plays in Moscow/Russia, please read the original post again. Specifically "Also, his behaviour abroad"

Eds, do you think that we will try again for Eden Hazard this january? hes young and has a lot of talent i think that he could bring a lot to liverpool. {Ed002's Note - Eden Hazard will not be moving to Liverpool in January.}

You must be dreaming

I feel sorry for you eds, I've read the same question and answer about 200 times now....

Eden hazard will never come to liverpool

We've got more chance of seeing Micky Hazard in a Liverpool shirt.

Still, dreamers will dream.

I've read that Chelsea are "putting together a 40m package for Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain" (surprise, surprise)

with their front 3 options currently including Torres, Mata, Sturridge, & Lukaku, do you think any of Drogba, Anelka, Kalou or Malouda will become available?
{Ed002's Note - All four are potentially available.}

Eds, do you see chelsea actually being interested in higuain at this point? {Ed002's Note - They are interested in Higuain but it is hard to see Real Madrid selling him - particularly in January. I guess if Tevez were to move to Madrid in January there is a slim chance they may let him move to Chelsea.}

None of these players suit LFC. They are all too old and will cause selection problems. Liverpool already have players that fill their positions. Liverpool should go for fresh alternatives such as De jong etc.

Liverpool like the look of the Swansea keeper Vorm as back to be Pepe's back up, only looking no talks yet, right sided midfielder is priority in January

Why would he leave to be a bench warmer?

Hi Ed, is there any chance of Liverpool signing Jack Rodwell in Jan. I am a big fan of his. Cheers {Ed002's Note - No.}

Of course, we will buy him just for you.

just saw the report in the metro for countinho from inter milan for around the 7 million(would probably be more like 15 if you ask me) would be a bargain at that price and only 19, also saw comments linking us with coleman from everton good young player but don't think likely. would love to see liverpool get more pace in the team in the center of the park and on the right wing, still don't understand why kenny won't try glen johnson there

Very good player, can play various postions and young, would fit in well, remember him last year i fink wit inter in CL he was brillant.
