Watched the hilsbrouogh debate in full. Have to say i have so much respect for the MP's tonight. Never thought i'd sit and watch a parilmentary debate in full, never mind sit through half of it with tears in my eyes. Steve rotherham, alison Mcgovern, andy burnham (sp? for all) made such emotive, excellent speeches. John Mann as well. Maybe at last we'll get the truth.

Yes, agree with all your comments, maybe the golden sky is at last on it's way - I hope so, I really hope so, for all of the loved one's of the 96!

Ed001 or 002, if you could target 1 player (with a reasonable chance of attainability) that would most improve Liverpool's starting 11 who would that be? {Ed002's Note - For me I think Adam Johnson may be viable and I think he is one player who could give the team additional options. But that is an immediate fix. In the longer term Moussa Sissoko could prove to be a really nifty signing - and he is certainly open to a move to England.}

I would most welcome both the signings with open arms.

Abhi

Have we inquired about Johnson Ed? Would it depend on City getting Di Maria? Is Sissoko one of our main targets?

Sorry for all the questions, I would love both...Thanks.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96 {Ed002's Note - I don't know of recent enquiries for Johnson but a replacement, such as Di Maria, would be key to a sale. Sissoko is a target of Damien Comolli but chances to buy him in the summer were spurned.}

Hey ed, the man utd site is full of sissoko admirers. It was also previously reported that they utd were keen on signing him.
If that is the case, do our chances of gettin him fall, or has comolli already talked him into a move next summer? {Ed002's Note - The club had the opportunity to buy the player this summer - he remains for sale. He is wanted by Comolli. I don't know why the club failed to move for the player.}

We are keeping a close eye on Steven Taylor of Newcastle. KK is of the opinion that he is the perfect long term replacement for Jamie. the Robster.

What do you think about this ed? {Ed002's Note - It is news to me.}

I would rather play skrtel even at his 35 and carra at his 40 than steven taylor at 20. This guy is just born to kick and hurt people. if we buy this guy we will have a liability in defense all the time.
Abhi

Why don't we just buy St James' Park...

YNWA! (Adam)

I've always been a fan of steven taylor. he's recently getting the plaudits he deserves, being compared to a young jt! but him andy carroll simply don't get on; so he's unlikely to sign. {Ed001's Note - rubbish, he is crap and has always been crap, offers nothing but comedic attempts to pass off fouls and handballs as being injuries.}

Not even close. Skrtel is much better than him. And we already have some quality cbs in Agger, Coates, wilson and kelly. :)

Let's buy Titus Bramble and complete the comedy duo.

Maybe too early to tell but from the looks of things in the January and Summer transfer windows, Liverpool will buy Adam Johnson, Christian Eriksen and Gary Cahill with a young striker/winger being touted as well. Leaving will be Aurelio, Maxi, Glen Johnson and Skrtel along with all the loaned out players like Aquilani and Cole.

What do you mean by the looks of things?!?! Were you looking into your crystal ball as you wrote this? lol

YNWA! (Adam)

Not that bad considering the players he mentioned that will leave and arrive are all real possibilities. But anyways some fans are so sure that we will buy aguero and co 2-3 months ago.

Abhi

The price will probably be too high for Cahill - besides, Coates can't even get a game yet. Skrtel remains as part of the positional depth. G Johnson may end up with cameos on the right-wing if Kelly stays healthy. Aurelio is available to anyone for a fiver. Where would A Johnson & Eriksen play? Already no room for Henderson and Carroll.

Hi every one! i think all we need is 4 signings.
CB, CDM/CM, CAM/RW ans ST.

We shouls buy for these positions in next 2 windows and probable one of the attacking positions to make sure there's competition and to add extra spice in our push for 4 th place at the later stages of league.

My candidates for respective positions would be

CB- Subotic, hummels, cahill.
CDM/CM- Sissoko, M'vila
CAM/RW- Johnson, hazard, goetze, eriksen
ST- Higuain, Benzema, lavezzi, Cavani, Podolski.

Pls some of the eds clarify about the players i mentioned above. Thanks

Abhi {Ed002's Note - There is a chance of Cahill if a decent bid is made in January - but I very much doubt the other centre backs. Liverpool had the chance to buy Sissoko in the summer but decided not to - which perhaps removes him from the equation. If they are interested an early move is advisable and he would be open to it. M'Vila will not be making the move. There is a chance of Johnson if Manchester City recruit a replacement and perhaps the most slim chance of Eriksen in the summer if LIverpool are in the Champions League and will to pay 30M plus - but no chance of the other midfielders. I don't see any chance of any of the strikers moving to LIverpool where they cannot be sure of a starting place and I don't think the club have anything like the money to buy the players you are suggesting.

Liverpool are mentioned as one of the leaders to sign Hazard so why are you sure he won't sign? {Ed002's Note - There is no point going through this yet again. The player wants to move to Spain. Liverpool have near zero chance of him signing.}

Thanks for reply ed, But regarding the strikers i remember ed001 suggested liverpool will go for one big name if kuyt is sold. That's why i asked the question. I might not be the names i mentioned but i just want to know whether we will go for one good striker if we sell kuyt or else we will buy a low profile striker or just give morgan/suso/sterling the chance to break through. Thanks

Abhi {Ed002's Note - Morgan perhaps - the others have more of a wait. If Kuyt leaves a right sided striker or winger will be required - Amoo will probably never get a chance. I am sure anyone progressed will be deemed to be "good" and there does appear to be genuine interest in Luuk de Jong. Obviously if there are injuries or others leave, then things will change.}

I would like Adam Johnson to sign for us, it seems City want him out so maybe a deal can be done in time for the January transfer window.

Cahill has done nothing this season but maybe his heart isn't in it at Bolton anymore. I personally think he will end up at Arsenal or Chelsea. I know we are trying to buy English where we can but he hasn't impressed at all this season.

Another top drawer striker would be great but unless we get one from the academy it's going to cost a lot of money. No point in speculating about who that could be yet.

Gaz1975

Hi gaz, i agree that cahill is not doaing as good as he did last year. But imo he is def better than skrtel. Even enrique did not had a very good season defending wise with new castle. But look now, at times some people are fed up with their club and won't perform well. But i would prefer one of dortmund's defenders. But that is not realistic it seems.

Abhi

Realisticaaly we would have to look a a third striker being dependable not world class, People like Benzema Higuain will just disrupt the formation, I feel our biggest loss this window was Shane Long based on our supposed early interest, to get a striker in JAN we need to look at players like Kallinic, Odemwingie, Huntellar or even Anelka, obviously these might not be the exact players but they are the type we need,
What you think ED's?

LFC PADDY {Ed001's Note - I disagree, we need a first choice striker, not a back up.}

Really? do you not feel getting a first class would result in disruption? wit Suarez being the main striker and carroll fighting behind would another striker looking for the first team just make it worse? we still have Bellamy aswell eventhough he is being used more of a winger, I would only go first class personally, if Suarez was to move to the right wing or if we start playing more than a lone striker

LFC PADDY {Ed001's Note - no, we need 4 top strikers if we are to win trophies on a consistent basis. You need options to cover for loss of form and injuries to the other strikers.}

The Hillsborough debate is on BBC Parliment live, if anyone wants to watch it.

Have just taken a break from it. Very moving and very encouraging. Frank Field - a star as are many others.

Hey eds,
How do you see the chances of lucas signing in LFC in january or in the summer? {Ed001's Note - which Lucas? There are a number of them.}

Moura from sau paulo {Ed001's Note - unlikely.}

Alredy signed for chelsea the other one we want will sign for PSG soon. {Ed002's Note - Piazon signed for Chelsea, not Moura.}

It was said in the press that it's either us or Tottenham {Ed002's Note - They were fibbing.}

Hi Ed's and fellow fans.

Firstly, i got to say its been a bitterly disapointing weekend. Firstly with my beloved Wales falling short in the Rugby followed by that little horror Hernandes denyign us a deserved 3 points. It was encouraging to see Henderson make a positive effect on the game, you can already see Gerrard take him under his wing. He can only benefit from playing along side a player of gerrards quality and maturity. Im sure we woudl all agree on that!

Oh and aparently we are lookign at a young striker from Lyon called Belfodil. He's meant to be teh business but again its only ever going to be speculation at this point. Anything to build on here ed's? And is he close to Liverpool standards? Im sure ed002 can help me here.

Tar

Adzii {Ed002's Note - I know little about Belfodil and certainly am not aware of interest from Liverpool. He is one of Lyon's youth players who has played a handful of games as a substitute. Aside from that I would have to enquire I am afraid.}

Greetings Ed's! Do you know if Afellay is still a target for LFC - maybe a long-term target to replace Kuyt?

Cheers and thank you for your continued efforts! -RedNorwegian- {Ed002's Note - I suspect that with the player out injured pretty much all of this season it is uinlikely that Liverpool would take a chance on him.}

Ed, do you know if there is anything in the rumours of Ki from Celtic? Cheers
Co.Down Red (Long time reader and poster, first time using a name) {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware, they are old rumours and weren't true last time around either.}

Sorry mate but you'll need a new name, we've already got a Co.Down Red around here.
