You are right not only today Man U,Us,City Stoke 5-0 games last season he was crap,not worth anything more than 8m imo forgetting his contract length,won't be surprised if he signs a new contract and stays where he is
I completely disagree with you.defending is a team effort so i would question the over players.Gary cahill is a class act and i would have welcomed him to liverpool and still will.
I know this is a rumour site, and that things can get a bit stale only a couple week after the window closes, but this post comes across like some sort of 'Rumour Junkie'.

Get a grip lad, if you havent got a rumour of your own, why dont you offer up a decent bit of banter? But this begging for rumour scraps at the foot of the Eds table is just shameful.

I know you wont speculate as to Jan signings but what about next summer and beyond who do you think well sign Ed like in the distant future? {Ed002's Note - It is pretty much impossible to say. So much will depend on how this season goes. Assuming it goes to plan and a Champions League place secured, I would expect a couple of good signings.}
Gonna have to press you to be more specific Ed summer 2015 say, who will be our marquee signing?
Commoli has said the team is complete.
There won't be any signings in January.

Eds why do you carry on saying players will join in the summer not in jan and do you think any players will sign in jan {Ed002's Note - As I have said, if players are going to join in January I suspect it will only because of players leaving, players being injured or a problem needing resolution. It seems that this is also the view of Damien Comolli.}

Said it before, and I'll say it again. We should buy Junior Hoilett. I think about 6-8m would do it. He's young. He is comfortable with both feet. With him and Raheem swapping wings over the next few years we could be formidable. Thoughts?

This player is class, am watching him against arsenal now. Blackburn are only interested in selling all their youth for £15mill plus like Phil Jones to Man U for example
I'm not sure why he hasn't been looked at. When you consider his age, and his ability to be composed in the final third. This is a player who could be a poor man's John Barnes. Those of you with contacts in the club, make them aware!

Dire? You are having a laugh. The guy played a lovely through ball to Yakubu for their first. Right pace, all Yakubu had to do was flick it on. Their fourth came from a break that started from the outside of hoilett's boot. He then casually jogged into the box, but if you watch the ball from Olsen, if koscielny doesnt put it in his own net, it rolls to Yakubu and if the pass is hit hard it lands to Hoilett. Hence the slow jog. If you watch the ball control, it puts people like Aaron Lennon to shame. Also, watch his head, it's always up, unlike Adam Johnson. Serious contender for me. Want to see this guy in a red shirt.
Good player with even better potential! I know we looked at him in the summer but I think they decided he was not far enough developed for the price Blackburn wanted which was around the 10 million mark! Can u confirm eds?

Really glad to hear that the club have looked at Hoilett. I hope his progression continues and we return with a bid in January. Seems to me that if he was a back up to Bellamy, the instant pressure to perform at a big club will be lessened some, if we bring him in as an understudy. I'm lookin at the return to our roots of pass and move. For that we need ball players. He is definitely a ball player. With size no longer a stumbling point in British football(due to the success of Barca) he should be considered. Interestingly, I've always said (way pre Barca) that with towering centre backs, quick footed, low centre of gravity, short players should always be available when attacking. Aguero is showing in the prem that you need to foul him to get him off the ball when your shoulders are at the height of his head. Really would love to become a scout for the reds. Anybody know the best way? Eds?
Dav. {Ed002's Note - Typically approaches are made for scouts through local league associations or scouts are part of larger scouting networks that may work for many clubs. The club themselves have a scouting organisation that will be club employees, but there will only be a handful of folks doing that. I don't know that any first tier teams have individuals scouting for them per se any longer - but no doubt lower league teams do. As an example, Diego Caniggia now looks after scouting for Liverpool in South America and he is the point of contact. Rather than having many other scouts working for him, he simply has a number of associates or contacts who will look out for talent on his behalf; but equally they are also looking for talent on behalf of other clubs representatives.}
Ed002. Thanks for the insight fella. I've always fancied myself as a scout. I've been successful in mapping individual careers. I pointed out to who ever would listen after Michael Owen scored his goal past Argentina, that he would dogged with hamstring injuries due to the way he runs. I knew that he had little else but pace and as a result he would not adapt after injury. Proven right, club were right too. Equally, and this may seem a little bitter, but rest assured it is not. Fernando Torres will always struggle to fit into a team that does not feed him clear chances as he cannot pass. This is all based on an observation that his feet are simply too large. This means he cannot be precise when passing to feet. Eds, would you know the root to make suggestions of players to our club? Perhaps in the form of reports etc. {Ed002's Note - The club will be sent numerous DVDs, reports, videos etc every day. Many parents and, certainly in France, clubs put film clips of kids up on YouTube and the like. Ultimately Damien Comolli has the scouting responsibility at Liverpool and I cannot say off the top of my head who reports in to him directly - say the replacement for Eduardo Macia. You could perhaps find out who that is and write in, but keep in mind that they will likely be saturated with such enquiries. Good luck with it.}
Talking like it's just a formality, he's going to go on to great things? Not quite that simple though is it? The lads got some potential? But at the moment thats all it is. If I was to hazard a guess. It would be he'll end up another inconsistent but gifted player in a mid table side.

{Ed009's Note - There is almost no chance of these players moving in January. Dortmund do not want to break up their exceptional young team and both are in very high demand. Perhaps in the summer, if we get Champions League football to allow us to compete with those other teams interested (Inter Milan, Arsenal etc), there is a chance. I doubt we will be signing another centre back either way, sorry.}

Have to disagree with Ed. over CB. Carra is nearing the end. Agger, Coates, Skrtel make a good first 3 but will need another next summer - Is Wisdom the answer??
Tbh none of them r likely to join next summer. gaston ramirez or sissoko for cm, n gary cahill for cb r more realistic options.

{Ed002's Note - The reason a negative answewr is given when it is asked the cahnces of Neymar, Ganso, Hazard etc. joining in January is because it is very unlikely that they will. In the same way as negative answers were given about Aguero, Sanchez, Coentrao, Goetze when they were asked about this summer. If my opinion is asked I will provide it honestly adn without bias. IN January I can see the club buying if someone leaves, if there are injuries or if the management see an obvious problem. It is only four games in to the season now and much too eary to tell.}

See there ya go again (ed 002) spouting off when there is no need - I never called you for your accuracy, I just mentioned your bias. Your the first to slag off every other team when a Chelsea player gets mentioned - Its not like I have 'started' its just that the selective admin process that lets certain comments through. I have been an avid reader of this site for at least 3 years and it is without doubt my first choice of football rumour site. All Im saying is that ed 002 seems to have an ungainly bias towards Chelsea -its not that hard to understand is it?

I'll be the first to stick up for Ed2 because he has been miles better on the rumours than any one else including Macca. The only time he mentioned the chavs was when he said Sturrige would not be signing for us.

Why do you think we wouldn't be interested in Barkley Ed? If the blues need money they will prob sell him to ManU. Shouldn't we be interested. Coleman looks a diamond for the right side of midfield as well.
