Quick question for any of the Eds.

What do you think the situation will be with Milner in the summer? Will he stay another season or two or can you see him leaving?

Would Leeds getting promoted affect anything? I am confident Liverpool and Klopp in particular will want to keep ahold of him but he may be getting a considerable less amount of playtime next season.

Sorry for all the questions!

{Ed002's Note - My expectation is that he will talk to the club about how he will be used next season and if it is to be on the periphery then he may ask to move - and Leeds would be the ideal solution if the club don't price him out of a move. Else I expect he will stay until the summer of 2020.}

Thanks for the reply Ed002.

Peronsally I hope he stays. Very good for our youth players and I think he has the potential to be a good coach in future as he seems very knowledgable. Completely understand if he left due to playing time though.

Milner is an exemplary player; I’d be over the moon if he stayed as a player or in a coaching capacity. I remember watching a video of Milner bossing the fitness tests, even though senior to most players and probably expected not to have the legs. Absolute hero in my view.

I hope he stays too - what a model professional and he can cover midfield, right and left back. Tough to find anyone else who can do that.

As a bonus, he'd allow us to bring Adam Lewis into the fold in place of Moreno, knowing if we have an injury to Robbo at any point, Milner can step in for the biggest games where we may need an experienced head.

100% agree. Getting Milner on a free was a masterstroke. Keeping him at the club would really help the youth players develop. I remember the Eds mentioning imagine what Xabi could have taught to the youngsters coming through had Liverpool resigned him.

whilst he is a model professional, i think the big decider will be if Leeds get promoted to the premiership, if they do then i would be very surprised if he didn't move back to them!

we also need to factor that he is slowly moving down the pecking order and on the wages that he is on and the age he is we can reinvest that elsewhere.

Is Millie on high wages? I have no idea. If so, I’d like to think that he’d reduce his wages on a 12monther- abit like Kompany has at City (if I remember reading that correctly)

{Ed002's Note - hat would add another year to the contract.}

I very much doubt he would agree to that Run. Why agree to be on less wages and not play as much here when he could have less wages but be a major part of a Leeds/ lower premier league side for his final seasons?

Whatever he does, all we can do is wish him the best of luck, if he stops at Liverpool it's good for us and the youngsters, if he goes to Leeds it's good for him and for Leeds. Either way, he gets huge respect from me, a really nice fella who deserves to be happy no matter where he ends up.
