Would people be happy he Liverpool were to look at buying Dele Ali for 45 millon? Or do we think his game has completely gone?

{Ed025's Note - i think you will have higher priorities to be honest champs..

18 Jan 2021 21:10:50
I'd maybe swap ox or perhaps I'm even being to hard on him but c'mon 45m.

He made his choice when he left MK.

Another player with the wrong manager, yes id take him all day, not at that price though, would prefer Barnes, Podence or Saka, Maureen didn't exactly handle De Bruyne, Lukaku or Salah well, some players could be the greatest player going but if a manager doesn't fancy them then that's that.

Silvered - we didn't come for him when he left mk. He wanted to come to us but he didn't go for it.

I'd take him on a loan with an option to buy. He's played so little I'd treat it like buying a player off the back of a bad injury - if he can get himself back to best then he's a much better creative option than ox or Shaq and has the benefit of being homegrown. Although cb I imagine will be this seasons priority.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - it wasn,t that he didn,t go for it hjikle, the dons put the price up from £4.5m to £5.5m because it was liverpool so the reds declined the offer mate..

Alli has had one good season in his career and has fined off of that since. I don’t see anywhere that he gets in to our side. He’s not blessed with pace, passing range isn’t particularly great, he’s not an obvious goal threat and hard work are not words you’d associate with him. I’d rather some other idiot wasted £40m on him. About as effective as Jessie Lingard in my opinion, and you’d not waste money on that either.

I will 100%. He will suit our system and can be a good and cheap replacement for bobby.

Seriously lost his way the lad. Could be a possibility if he could get back to where he was but I'm edging towards the no thanks.
I'd of paid mk dons the extra 500,000 or 1m back then in a heart beat though.100%.

Would take him all day long Liverpool supporter and would love to prove Maureen wrong problem would be the price.

He also would want ridiculous wages. Plus I can't for the life of me work out why people think he is a "klopp player". From all accounts he is not a hard trainer and he certainly doesn't seem to work hard on the field. I suspect all the reasons why Mourinho has issues with him would be the same for Klopp.

If you’re talking a replacement for Firmino, I’d rather we break the bank for Son. He’s a proper footballer, Alli is a big time Charlie who is nowhere near as good as he thinks he is.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - where on earth are we gonna get the money for Son? Didn’t realize Musk and Bezos had bought us overnight?

20 Jan 2021 19:18:47
I lived in MK for years and he was well known in the local area. Played in the same team as some of his good mates. The rumour is Spurs chucked in a rather nice auto mobile as a golden handshake to convince him to sign, which he gladly accepted.

I agree with 6times. Id love to see Son in our team but we'd never be able to afford him.

Really? No chance. He was so good for that one season that people even ignored how dirty a player he is. Since then he's just a waste of oxygen. Absolute sook.

Any one expecting jota to just pop back in and save the day needs to think that he is just coming back from a knee injury and might take time to get up too speed.

Magico at least Bobby was getting in the positions to shoot, the other two were just as wasteful, but Bobby was trying to make things happen.

Not doubting Bobby's positional play. but he shooting is dreadful.

Agree mane and salah were awful though.
Try salah through middle and push bobby or ox to right forward?

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2021 09:01:00
Bobby seems worse at them moment because he has to drop so deep I can’t see why Klopp won’t just play the young lads at the back with fab in front of them to ease the pressure and hendo and Thiago to dictate the play from midfield and feed Bobby salah and mane giving them the extra yard back.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2021 09:02:24
Has anyone noticed that the positioning is no way near as fluid as before. It used to seem like the forwards all swapped round and popped up in each others position. I think against Man U I saw salah and mane switch once, salah was soo wide on the right all game. Maybe it is just a confidence thing and they are just trying to keep it simple to get back into form.

We are dropping too deep too early. You could see it against Utd which creates holes all throughout the team which makes it easier to get through us as you can’t press when there’s too much space. The distances to run are too much for anyone.
We are then winning the ball back in our own half and so starting an attack from there.
VVD and Gomez would hold the half way line for as long as they could which then risks leaving too much space in behind but it also compresses the play into the oppositions half meaning the press can be more effective and we win the ball higher.
With Fabs, Hendo and Gini in midfield they are all good ball winners so it was highly effective. It also meant that the FBs starting position was much higher allowing them to get forward more without killing themselves.
Fabs and Hendo at CB don’t have the confidence or pace to hold that line so we get stretched and we don’t have the ball winners in midfield either.
Klopp will see this but I’m not sure what we can do about it with the personnel we have available.

Morning Ed's
If wijnaldum isn't willing to sign a contract do you think there is any possibility we would look to maybe try and sell him for some fee this month and possibly the money could be used for stop gap cb?
Would allow hendo back into midfield and with Thiago and ox coming back I would say we are more urgently in need of a cb than gini for the rest of the season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - No there are no plans to sell Wijnaldum this month and nobody would be interested in buying him when he can sign a pre-contract to move overseas. His representatives say that Liverpool have not offered a suitable contract to him and he will leave if a new contract is not agreed. He has been offered to Barcelona again but Barcelona are dealing with other priorities (the election) at present but could still be interested in the player as a Free Agent. Inter Milan have asked his agent for an idea of what he would be asking - but he is not there first choice, although being a Free Agent makes him attractive to them.

18 Jan 2021 11:49:27
Gini is off, good luck to him and thanks for the service!

Give him the 4 year contract and then could sell him after 3 years and get some money back.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2021 19:10:44
Have we offered him a good deal and he is been greedy or just wants a move or are we been cheap.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - He has not yet been offered a suitable deal.}

19 Jan 2021 10:35:17
By suitable you mean the length of contract or what's the issue? I think it's very important that we keep him and would be happy to see him stay a few more years. We need to keep a core of quality senior players like him, he's basically 4th captain as Klopp has said and by all his teammates accounts is a great personality to have in and around the squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - He will have expectations in terms of the financial package (which I am sure will not be excessive) and in terms of the length of the contract - and Liverpool know what those expectations are - so it is up to them to offer something acceptable. To date they only seem to have dragged the matter out. Unless they plan on using Grujic to replace him they would likely need to buy a replacement and that won't be easy with money being tight.}

20 Jan 2021 13:58:22
I think given his ability, awareness, fitness levels and consistency it would be foolish not to offer him the deal he’s asking for, I’m struggling to think of another top class midfielder who can walk in and replicate what he brings.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2021 08:28:57
Multiple sources are reporting that Gini will again reject any contract discussions. He wants the Barcelona move.
If this is the case can the club come to terms with this and just adjust to having someone else in that position that wants to stay at the club rather than us having to make last minute changes when this eventually happens.
