Liverpool rumours - true and false

True

Demsey 11m (it might be more cuz thats cheap)
Walcott 9m (as a lfc fan I'm not happy cuz he is (will be) and arsenal reject)
Barcelona are interested in Daniel agger
Man city are interested in Martin skrtel (cant see this happening)

False
Joe Allen will not join Liverpool because bredan rogers signed a contract that he can't sign swansea players
Munian won't join if demsey joins because we already have downing

Not sure (just rumours)

Demba BA (they paid 1m for him +15m for Andy Carroll
Cavani ( I think he would join us but I think it was just somebody suggesting names)
Bellemy to leave (hope not)

BR can bid for any swansea player for whom a third team have already bid!! So some other team has already placed a bid for Joe, which brings BR into d game!

11m for dempsey is not cheap and its not a signed. Contract for allen

Oh ok thanks for that Brendan Rogers...or should I say John Henry?

Slow poke

What on earth are you dithering on about,talk about being fickle this is a rumour site im sure BR will do his upmost to ensure he has the players capable to play the system that he wishes to employ.Cavani no chance as no CL as yet and munian plays all along the front so he could join,i cant wait to watch us play fab footie just like we used to in the old days

Sorry, but I in no way see Dempsey as a player that would keep Muniain out of the squad. One is 19 with tons on potential another is 30 and not inspiring.
I will be very disappointing if we get Ba my dead grandma has better knees than him.
Walcott, reject, more like would not sign new contract and lifetime liverpool fan. I know if I had the ability to play football professionally I would do whatever I could to play for Liverpool and restore the glory.
Andrew

Where to begin with this?? To put it kindly, you're way off with these suggestions my friend!

Sorry eds - you have to decide if you want to post this - live in london so speak to a few arsenal fans - walcott cannot cross a ball - they say with his pace and finishing he needs to play down the middle - so if we do buy him - he needs to play down the middle - otherwise no point in buying him?
cheers

R

So it's false Allen won't join? That means he is joining! Good times ahead ;-)

Square tomato

BR hasn't signed any contract. It is a gentlemans agreement between Swansea and him. But if a Swansea player is made available than Rodgers has every right to try and sign that player.

......and if Allen expresses an
interest in joining Liverpool also negates the 'contract' if it even exists.

Dempsey almost 30 and cheap at £11 million? Thank God you're not buying players for us.

Whatever mystic peg, who do u. Think u r? Soooo funny not

How can you have a true or false rumour? a rumour is neither true nor false, its just speculation. person.

I know your intentions are all good and well here but these are your opinions, not facts and false facts!

What a load of pap this post is - sick of made up dross!

NS

Square tomato, cool dude. I was also wandering that.

SUMON VAI

That's it then,summer sorted.The Ed's done out a job, this person seems to know our every move!

Fool arsenal want to give him a BIG raise so that he signs on! but HE doesn't want to stay.

Fool arsenal want to give him a BIG raise so that he signs on! but HE doesn't want to stay.

There are a lot of persons on this website but this fella tops the list!!

Walcott? why, even the gooners think lennon is treets ahead of theo! its just because hes a liverpool fan! cavani? are you crazy? he wouldnt come!

Why would cavani sing for liverpool?get a grip cavanis a world class striker and liverpool are no longer a big club!be years or mayb never till liverpool get world class players unless they come through the academy

The contract BR signed was not that he couldnt sign swansea players at all but....if another club becomes interested in a swansea player then liverpool are allowed to enter the race to sign that player.

Do you think liverpool should look at welliton from spartak moscow, not a rumour just a question, because SM are not a big club so a move to lfc could interest him {Ed002's Note - Welliton will be available at the right price but I don't see that Liverpool have any interest in him at this time. Dortmund were interested and a player exchange involving Lewandowski was thought possible in January, but that never happened. I know that there has been interest from Turkey but would suspect that an acceptable offer would see him move to England, Germany or Spain in preference.}

Spartak Moscow arent a big club? Finished 2nd and are in champions league! Better than us

Yeah it's a very strong league ain't oh w8 no it ain't ofcourse we r a bigger club thn SM don't talk stupid

hi eds.sorry if this ones been asked before but with us having an abundance of midfielders what do the eds think the future lies for spearing ,adam and henderson?thanx {Ed002's Note - I think we will know more around August 1.}

BR loves Henderson. Still making his mind up about Adam and Speo, but i would expect at least 1 to move on, but likely both as they are going to struggle to even make the bench.

I just hope to good spearing goes, can't see any over prem team tho. See if you can think of a midfeild he'd get in?

Spearing sold
Herderson loaned
Adam I'd keep could be usefully if he could find some Blackpool form

Keep Adam and flog Henderson are you mad? He had everything go through him at Blackpool and was out of the Rangers team for 18 months before going to Blackpool. The question has to be asked who done the homework on this one, and if it's who I believe it was this deal merited his sacking

All 3 are good footballers but if you push me Spearing is the least effective at the level we require and least likely to get any better.
kidmillions

I think he might sell Adam and possibly Spearo. Hendo should do well under BR.

Ed do you know of any interest in dame n'doye?
Thanks
Jarred {Ed002's Note - Like from Trabzonspor you mean?}

N doye is great in the Danish Superliga but not good enough to Liverpool. Danieldenmark {Ed002's Note - Good enough for Trabzonspor?}

He plays currently for FC Copenhagen, and is by no means good enough for LFC. Yes he scores goals, but he is also playing in Denmark ! And maybe You are right Ed002, Trapzonspor might be interested, but they can have him.

Just read Your reply again Ed002. You are right ! Interest from Trapzonspor ! I have too read and understand !

This Rumour should really be on the trabzonspor page

Loafmaster

Haha yes ed. I know about the tranzapspor rumour and he is good enough :p still I would rather have N doye than Carroll. He is a great header, athletic goals, class shooting ability.

This should clear up dempsey and carroll. Ed's Please Post

From LFC.com
Brendan Rodgers today revealed that Liverpool have made enquiries about Fulham striker Clint Dempsey.

In an interview with Liverpoolfc.com at the team hotel in Boston, the manager moved to clarify the club's position on the USA international, who scored 23 goals for Fulham last season.

"Clint is a player we've enquired about, it is as simple as that," said Rodgers.

"Ian Ayre, our managing director, has spoken with the club to see what the position is. That is where we're at.

"He's a very talented player but we don't like to talk about other clubs' players."

Meanwhile, Rodgers also spoke about Andy Carroll and insisted a possible loan move away from Anfield would not be entertained.

"There has been a lot written and spoken about him but first and foremost Andy is a Liverpool player," said the boss.

"To consider a loan period for someone the club spent £35million on isn't something we're looking to do at this moment in time.

"Andy will be the same as every other player - if there's ever an offer that comes in we'd look at it as a club and see if it's going to be worthwhile for the club and the team as a whole.

"The club invested £35million in him. People talk about whether he can fit into my style or not, but if you're a club and you spend £35million on a player you'd like to think he can fit into whatever style the team plays.

"He's a good player. He'll join the rest of the group next week and we'll take it from there."

I dont think that cleared anything up at all! is carol staying or going? are we going to put an other in for dempsey? im still just as confused and undecided, i dont know about you lot

Finely liverpool's PR might be getting better BR has put all the gossiping to bed. at least Andy will get a chance to impress and change Brendan Rodgers mind.

red lobster

Seems kinda ominus to me, hope the lad stays to process his he's worth his tag. great end to last season

It's as clear as can be in manager speak. We're working to get Dempsey. Sounds like price is a factor. We won't overpay and Dempsey wants to leave. The deal will wait until Fulham realizes this is their best deal. Carroll won't be loaned but he is for sale at the right price. Sounds like the message to other clubs is pay up or piss off.

That wasn't clear at all...! All we know is he's not going on loan...

Hopefully AC stays, the last thing BR should do is split the fans opinion like this has done. Remember what happened at Chelski last year when AvB tried to change too much too soon

The IMPORTANT thing is he's not going on loan.A loan deal is worst of all possible worlds for us.Frankly the clubs who have expressed an interest in Andy don't seem likely to come up with an acceptable offer and I really think he'll stay with us.

Can you lot not read - he's the same as every other player, so if someone puts an acceptable bid for ANY player, then it will be looked at - Reina, Agger, Sorrel, Sayres even BreathIng B

I think you'll find Newcastle would piss off then ,as unlike Liverpool they won't be held to ransom.

I think it will be unlikely that the club will sell him unless it is for 15million pounds minimum that could well be higher. i think we should just let it play out.
derryred

I'm sure certain players will have a more "acceptable" offer level then others at the club ...I really hope Rodgers is true to his word and Andy does get the chance to show he can adapt.

If the Dempsey rumours/speculation holds truth then I hope the player actually performs, and isn't simply another player bought off the back of a good season and then fails dismally the next ...would you Adam and Eve it!

Sounds like Rodgers is playing the 'he's a very important player, and we want him here' card to try and get the best price possible. Carroll is certainly not in his plans, although the initial loan deal NUFC wanted was never going to work, a bid of around £13-15 million (his actual value) will see him go.

We should keep andy unless some1 stumps at least. £20 million, and fsg should stop going on about cuttin the wage bill down, they shouldn't of got invoved in liverpool if they weren't prepared. To pay the wages, big andy was given a 5 year contract and its up to. Him if he wants to leave! Wage bill, wage bill is all we have heard since fsg came in, sack it! Change the subject

What's worrying for me is Ian Ayre is dealing with transfers - is anyone else concerned by this?

Liverpool are waiting to hear whether reina is committed to the club. He has expressed his frustration and BR wants to know if he wants to stay or go by the time he returns from holiday. If he wants to go then this could trigger a player plus cash deal from Newcastle. Tim Krul plus cash for Carroll. The same is being mentioned about skrtel and agger. Coloccini could be the exchanged player instead. Carroll defo going back to Newcastle but mike ashley doesnt want to spend big amounts of cash and would prefer a player exchange deal. Carroll has just purchased a house in a place called Corbridge just west of Newcastle!!

Chris

And Chris your sources for this drivel are what? I [ and anybody with a half a brain ] wouldn't touch Coloccini with a 10 foot pole as a Liverpool centre back. Oh yeah I'll bet Ashley would love to get Carroll without spending big and he hasn't got a hope of doing it.

Why dont we just ask newcastle for the price he is worth,35 million,the price they told us he was worth,easy peasy

According to ESPN sources, (from "Win Lose or Draw, I'm LFC to the Core") ... Andy Carroll has stated that he doesn't want to go out on loan, or to be sold to anyone, including Newcastle, but wants to stay and prove to BR that he can fit in.

Wat a load of tosh that is u make lfc out to look like morans and ashley to be the next recruite on dragons den

Fantastic imagination being used here especially without proper source. Still we did have the stupid story earlier about Clint Dempsey being signed for £10 Million. £10 Million for a 29 going on 30 year old HMMMM

PSG just paid 16m for Ibra.. he's 30 going on 31.. if we had paid that for him you would be angry? Dempsey is worth 10m, scores goals, and is very versatile. We may not get the sell on money but we'll get a good 3-4 seasons out of him.

Carroll is a geordie. if your on 80k a week you would buy a nice home in your home town. Joe Hart has a villa in spain but isnt leaving City

Their is no way Newcastle would let one of the best young goalkeepers in europe leave. I think Newcastle would want carroll plus cash not the other way around.

To the first reply .Re Colocini you do realise he was in every pundits teamof the season .Take your red tinted specs off and realise other teams have decent players .Oh and by the way ,I can't see any of Newcastles players coming to you lot ,why would they leave a team on the up.

Have to agree with the last poster- Coloccini played pretty well I thought last season.

On a related note, I think a back line of David Luis, Coloccini, Pujols, and Assou-Ekoto would be cool. Maybe Fellanj as a CDM and now you're talking...

ramirez has signed for juve true ed ? {Ed002's Note - Not yet. It remains most likely that Ramirez will move this summer with interest being shown by Napoli, Wolfsburg, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Palermo and Juventus. Unsubstantiated rumours suggest Manchester United, Spurs, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested. Sevilla were interested but I understand that Ramirez has no interest in such a move. Bologna have held discussions with several interested teams (Manchester City, Wolfsburg, Napoli and Juventus). Gaston Ramirez's agent Pablo Betancourt said in early July that Juventus and Wolfsburg are interested in his client and that he knows of no on going interest in the player from other Italian clubs. However,I can confirm that (a) an offer from Wolfsburg that was acceptable to Bologna has been rejected by the player who has no interest in moving to Germany at this time; (b) Napoli has returned to Bologna with a proposal that they have yet to respond to; and (c) talks with Juventus have continued and a deal including cash and players (including Motta) is being negotiated. I have postulated that interest from Liverpool could be rekindled if Suarez leaves.}

Would just like to say fair play to Ed002 here ... Top work! Can I just ask, what league would you say you have the most connection/inside info on? Keep up the good work guys!

ElRoja {Ed002's Note - "Inside" is not really a relevant term. Generally the most information would relate to the major European leagues (France, England, etc.}, Israel and Brazil.}

Can somebody please tell me why we still think we can sign anyone ? 20 years since a title ! 20 !

Hi ed there was a article in one of our local newpapers about manchester uniteds debt and during nightshift last night some of the guys in work were saying its a quite serious situation united are in. Have you heard anything on there current state? just curious to have a heads up tonight if the topic gets brought up again many thanks.

gee man {Ed002's Note - The debt is in bonds and is being serviced. I don't want to get in to discussing the floatation.}

Whats this got to do with a Liverpool Rumours site!!

The issue as I remember it is that the coupon (interest rate) on the bonds issued to raise the money is over 10 percent a year. Not great for them but good if you're a true red!

Ed, Is it true that Ronaldiniho could be comin to Lpool for free {Ed002's Note - No.}

Ahhahaa! Everyone know's he's on his way to Blackburn.

What have you been taking,this will never happen

I heard this rumour myself. A lucrative 1 year deal is on the table and FSG say this won't affect Brendan Rodgers' budget. {Ed002's Note - I am guessing, Twitter?}

Well that's what they told him but he forgot about airport tax, baggage fees etc. Cost him a fair bit in the end. That said, the roasting sesh with Walcott at the Hilton went better than planned so was worth it in the end.

Plus, He has already been Transfered from Flamengo to Atletico Mineiro for FREE.

Henderson adam downing aquailani carol all flopps and a lot money being wasted I hope the owners finance wise this time

He just joined Athletico Miniero and he is doing amazing there

Ed002's comment was so cool! Just 2 letters. NO.

SUMON VAI

He could be our version of Boltons Jay Jay okocha! Haha

Henderson adam downing aquailani carol all flopps and a lot money being wasted I hope the owners finance wise this time....

Im pretty sure they dont follow football as much as they do american football or as much as the rest of us who were raised watching it, so for them to invest wise this time doesnt make sense in my eyes... i could be wrong but i doubt it

Luuk de Jong just signed for Mönchengladbach. The fee is 15 mil €

Not to worry, if he does well in Germany an English club will buy him for £30m :)
within the next 2 seasons. That's how it seems to work:(

Guardian, BBC and other such reliable sources reporting no offer for dempsey and they don't wish to sell. Could it be we all got a bit excited? {Ed022's Note - Did you just call 'The Guardian' a reliable source?}

Guardian - best source for football on sale - if any of them are a good source of course.

But as most of the Eds have said all along - if a bid is made, or accepted the club will announce it.

What papers are reliable ed? /most reliable?
Thanks {Ed022's Note - I wouldn't say any of them are, but obviously the Telegraph is the most factual out of the papers.}

Ed022, I thought it interesting that you don't rate The Guardian as reliable - what about the other broad sheets? I reckon The Independent is the most accurate usually
JoeyB {Ed022's Note - I'd say the Independent isn't too bad, as they usually go along with the BBC and other factual sources, but the Telegraph are the most meticulous with factual stuff.}

The article was made almost entirely from reports from fulham's website, so call me crazy, but that's a good way to make sure you are being reliable.

{Posters 19954566's Note - did you just call "The Telegraph" Reliable.}

No UK newspapers can be deemed reliable due to their methods of gathering information. According to a study by Cardiff University, only 12% of stories in the UK's largest papers are researched by their own journalists. The remaining 88% are gathered from various press and PR agencies such as the Press Association and Associated Press. Due to the pressure of deadlines, many facts and quotes are run without checking how truthful and valid they are. {Ed002's Note -There is a world of difference between PR agencies, folks like the Press Association (which is primarily owned by news papers) and AP.}

The guardian isnt a paper to randomly make stories up, the majority of the time what they report on is correct

I personally find from experience and being on the internet a lot doing the rounds on the newspaper websites that the telegraph, guardian and independent are pretty sound.. The daily mail website just put up exactly what Sky are reporting. has also improved tenfold from when I started visiting the website a few years ago. Obviously the Sky and BBC are usually on the button.
The Gooch

It was posted on NESN website that we had signed Dempsey and has since been removed.

We don't have any money to make an offer hence the need to sell Carroll now. We are not a club who can compete financially anymore with team around and above us. Fingers crossed Brendan is given time by these owners an the fans as one thing is for sure we won't be getting any quality in just more average joes.

FFS why does it always take a century for us to sign a player like dempsey , everyday i see stuff like joe allen is close and dempsey and so on and yet nothing has happen , we liverpool must be the unluckiest fans in the world where teams like chelsea , man city and Man Utd sign big players like its nothing where if we miraculously sign a big name we would be buzzing all week where other teams fans would be like " great .. moving on'' , top 4 should be our minimum target we are liverpool not newcastle , spurs or other smaller clubs , we should be targeting 1st not 4th !!!

If you look at the transfer accuracy of newspaper reports the guardian sits firmly at the top with 47% accuracy more than any other broadsheet or red top.

Brill post 1st is all shanks would have talked about f--k 4th we are the most successful team in England ffs if the owners cant compete lets hope they sell up soon and find somebody who will and earn some profit in the sale everybody happy unlike the last time.

Hey i work for the guardian i find that very offensive

The Guardian is one of the greatest newspapers in the world. Maybe the Ed was turned down for a job there! {Ed022's Note - I have no interest in working for a media outlet which constructs garbage when I have a decent enough job as it is thank you.}

Hey ed022, how do you rate ESPNsoccernet? Do you think it's a reliable source?

SUMON VAI {Ed022's Note - ESPN for me says it all mate.}

Demba Ba is set to be used by Newcastle as part of the deal that sees Andy Carroll go to Newcastle. It is yet to be known whether Brendan Rodgers will want Ba in his squad or if he wants a straight cash deal in the region of 20m.

Luis

Ba is overdue an injury breakdown, Newcastle were lucky with him, I can't see that luck holding out for much longer, he is a good player no doubt, but has knees made of paper, the Geordies want to make some money off this guy while he is still able to walk, and guess who Ashley has identified as their perfect mark.

Liver & Onion

I'd put a tenner on it then, bookies giving 16/1.

No way if it happens im sure there will be a stringent medical on his supposed dodgy knee.Keep andy and if we dont i hope we get our own targets not someone pushed on to us by newcastle who didnt make it easy for us when we were buying andy.Tommy Irish Red.

Agree with Tommy. Keep Carroll - can't see the sense in getting rid at this stage. Give the boy a chance to impress. If not then we can only hope there are bigger and better plans that we have a chance of seeing through.

Rodgers won't take Demba Ba. He's just a poorer version of Andy Carroll. Absoulutely useless.

Last I heard Ashley and Co hadn't made an offer to buy they were still trying on this insane loan idea.If they want Andy [ and I'd say don't sell him ] then they should make a cash offer and we'd know right off if they were serious or not.Letting NUFC have him for a season and with us still paying the larger share of his contract should be a non-starter.

Why buy for 35 million n then give back to the same person u bought off to use thats stupid plus they may make him look rubbish n get the saleprice down even more ashley would have made a great seconhand car dealer

LISTEN if newcastle offer £20million he will be sold,like every1 is saying otherwise its not worth it , me personally dont want carrol to go,i think hes class,not many around like him.CMON MANDY CARROL!!

There is no chance that Ba will be part of any deal. That is just journo's putting 2 and 2 together and arriving at 5.

Not Ba. But it would be cool if we somehow manage to get Cabaye in a swap deal.:)

SUMON VAI

I cant see anyone paying 20 million for him. You will be lucky to get 15.

Ed I saw Mirallas and Gokhan Tore on you tube. They had plenty of skills. Can you shed some light on their skills and also are we looking after them.
cheers
ST
YNWA {Ed002's Note - I can not say anything of their skills per se but Tore was well thought of at Chelsea. I don't know of confirmed interest in either, but there are unsubstantiated rumours.}

I looked at mirallas on youtube has got plenty of skill does seem to be a bit like ronaldo think if his fancy dan mentality can be trained he could be world class.
cheers mal..

I think I saw a match online Chelsea vs Liverpool reserves and Tore was the best player. In that match he had to go off because an injury either his foot or ankle and that was the same match that Bosingwa played in.

Robinho is the best player in the world on youtube

18 Jul 2012 12:21:34
Allen transfer dead? acording to his agent Glenn Corcoran said, "Joe has not handed in a transfer request of any kind."

Thecraigyo

So because he hasn't yet handed in a transfer request he's not coming to Liverpool???

That's about right - no transfer request, no sale to us.

The transfer is the clause that Swansea initiated when Rodgers left to take up his position at Anfield. It stated that no player could leave to join Liverpool “ IF the Reds were the first team to bid.

They may want to cash in to fund futher signings??

18 Jul 2012 14:23:26
May not have to. Possibly find another way it can be negotiated without having to rely on a transfer request. Will mean paying more for him though so Swansea recoup costs. Still v likely, but why everyone thinks deals will be worked out in days rather than the usual weeks is still surprising!

18 Jul 2012 12:04:36
Ed have our chances improved of getting affelay
thank you in advance

LFC DOWNUNDER {Ed002's Note - I am not sure they hace "improved" as such but it seems Barcelona will make him available. Italy looks like one option available to him if he is sold and there may be interest from the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle. A move to Lille has been rejected.}

18 Jul 2012 11:48:39
Hey eds..Due to fulham denying that we have signed Dempsey, have we even put a bid in for him?...

Thanks
Kindest Regards {Ed001's Note - same position as we were in with Blackpool last summer, we have had talks but no formal bid yet.}

Cheers Ed001. I thought bids had been made but not agreed is all. Still a way to go maybe.

Dempsey is goin to be 30 is this gona be anoda mistake by liverpool I think liverpool scouts need to do a beta job out there tx peeps {Ed002's Note - Anoda has no interest in moving to Liverpool.}

18 Jul 2012 11:45:16
Hi Ed(s), brilliant site, keep up the great work. I have just heard that Barcelona could move for Daniel Agger after being priced out of a move for Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javi Martinez. Any truth in that?

Cheers
PunkRed {Ed001's Note - I still expect them to bring in Martinez, it is more about trying to get the price reduced, I believe, by naming other targets in the media.}

If they want Agger, tell them £35m and both Tello and Afellay.

I loved reading this in my morning paper.It described Agger as "the cheaper end" of the transfer market.This gives some idea of how we are seen.An easy touch!

Why would this make sense as martinez plays in a different position than agger. Paper talk I think

Agger would only leave for "Andy Carroll" money same goes for Suarez & Pepe.

18 Jul 2012 12:05:02
BBC website: Fulham deny the reports that LFC have bid for Dempsey
Looks like someone at Fenway shot their load a bit early...

cozinoz

Phew - dodged a bullet there, at price quoted of course.

Nothing new there, ever since these guys took over its been a constant stream of PR blunders and disasters, and some people still insist on calling FSG professionals. IF they can't do the basic stuff how can anyone trust them with the future of Liverpool Football Club!

Pork Chop

I hope that doesn't prevent Dempsey coming to lfc

Btw dempsey would be superb for the mighty reds
avoorochie

He's only got 12mths left on his contract, so a team like Fulham won't keep him, if he wants to go. There not Citeh? who could afford to do such a thing.

Just checked the sky sports app on my dinner at work, they're reporting that Arsenal have offers flooding for RVP
Do you we think we will enquire? And what is the chance he could come to us in your opinion?

54D13R {Ed002's Note - RvP will not be moving to Liverpool this summer.}

One season wonder - it will be good business by Arsenal if they get a good price for him, look at him against good opposition in the Euros - absolutely nowhere.

Get real pal , we avnt a chance ov gettin rvp

How could it make even a glimmer of sense that Liverpool could go after RVP with any hope? He's better off we he is, at the Emirates, and he doesn't want to stay there. Only the very 'big players' in the transfer market will be going for him and, after last year's sorry list of transfer business in, and no UEFA place, one can't see LFC as being one of them.

As long as i have a hole in my e** he would never come to liverpool...rvp.....your now a medioca team who pays well over the odds for players....what liverpool should have done is hold on for a manager and you might og harry rednapp who would of had you in top 4 this season if he had money to spend....

Barcelona usually get arsenals good players with villa just coming back from a break maybe they will take him for cover.Still think city will get him though money talks.

Oh you crazy liverpool fan.van persie wants to be in the best team and win things.liverpool are nowhere near that!

He's due an injury soon anyway. Wouldn't want him.

18 Jul 2012 11:48:19
Looks like someone has had a little word as mention of Clint Dempsey joining Liverpool now appears to have been removed from the official website of the Fenway Sports Group.

18 Jul 2012 11:37:56
According to talksport we havnt even put in a bid for Dempsey, i know talksport is far from reliable but I just thought I'd post this info

That has come from the moose - the guy who said moyes was definetly going from Everton but then retracted his statement after they threatened legal action. {Ed049's Note - That same guy who said Klopp will be Liverpool's new manager.}

So pool havnt even agreed a fee let alone personal terms, any ideas what's going on EDs, great site by the way {Ed002's Note - My understanding is that there have been discussions and both parties expect a deal to be sorted out. There is still interest in Dempsey from elsewhere.}

Everything is paper talk - have you heard from any Liverpool employee about any of our supposed targets - Allen, Dempsey, Mirallas etc etc - and even the Andy Carroll speculation - nothing has come from BR about whether he is not wanted - although apparently a friend of a friend whose cousin ( twice removed ) heard a whisper in a Newcastle pub that AC wanted to go back there, who then tweeted it and all the papers said that it was true - and it was a scoop.

Players In -
Mirrallas - £12m
Dempsey - £9m

Doesn't mirallas have a 6.5 mil buyout clause?

Why would Mirrallas be £12m when it's been circulated that his release clause is around half that figure... It's also highly unlikely to happen either way. PK

Mirrallas has a release clause of 8m euros, so they could use this to enhance the package they offer the player.

You do know that Marrallas has a buy out clause of just under 7m

Why would LFC pay 12m for Mirallas when his buy-out clause is 6.5m.....Get your facts right

Why would we pay 12m if his buy out clause is only £6.4million?

Kevin Mirallas has a release clause of around 6 - 7 million pound so why pay 12?

Yeah pay 12 mil for a player with a 6.4 mil buyout clause, genius!

Doesn't Mirallas have a buy out clause of around £7million

Mirallas has a buy out clause of £6.4mil

AZ

Mirallas has a boyout clause of 6.4 million , why would liverpool overpay?

Mirallas has a 6.4m buy out clause, why would we buy him for 12? Besides I could score that many goals in the bloody greek league, he managed 3 goals in 53 games in France....

Mirrallas is said to have a release clause, something like 6 or 8m, so I highly doubt we'd pay 12m for him,unless our negotiation skills have got worse..

Cant believe no one has mentioned Mirallas has a buy out clause of around 7-8m

I heard this guy had a buyout clause at around half of what you quoted...

Rumour has it that a unnamed Liverpool fan is the target of Greek League & Cup double winners Olympiacos

This surprise interest comes after the aforementioned fan expressed his confidence about be a success in the Greek Championship.

The fan is quoted as saying "Besides I could score that many goals in the bloody greek league (34 goals in 52 apps)" on Liverpool fansite "liverpool-rumours.co.uk".

"We can wait to meet this Liverpool Fan, he seems to have just what we are looking for" said a club official.

However some are not so pleased with the comments, Ex-Liverpool & current Panathinaikos winger Seb Leto said today " Cheek B'stard, I didn't came to the Greek league because it was easier than the premiership. I had Passport issues thats all. I shall kick him if he comes here".

We will let you know if anything comes of this interest in due course. {Ed022's Note - Very good post.}

I seriously can't believe there are that many replies about his release clause lol.... amazing!

I personally wouldn't put it past those cowboy yonks to do something as stupid... We paid £35 for Andy Carrol and are now getting rid for what will probably be peanuts!

Comoli and KK got sacked off and how much did we pay them in settlements? No wonder we haven't got 2 pennys to rub together! I haven't even mentioned the waste of money downing and adam look like.... Boom there was the stadium refurb.
Very irate and frustrated Liverpool fan!

Wait a minute, isn't his buyout clause only about six and a half million?

Mate you may have not heard but he has a £6.4m buy out clause

According to reports in El Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona winger Ibrahim Afellay is a target for Arsenal and Liverpool. New Barca coach Tito Vilanova is reported to have told Afellay that he will not feature regularly this season and must now decide whether to stay at Camp Nou or accept an offer from a foreign club. Barcelona are said to want €4million (£3.1m) for the Netherlands international.

I know this came from Sly Sports but if there is any element of truth in the matter, at that price surely an opportunity (bit like Ben Arfa) to get a great player on the road to recovery. Who would be better for LFC Afellay at £3.1m or Theo at £10-15m I know who I would be risking on.
Lanarth

Can I ask a simple question, as I'm new to this site. But when you and many others mention Sly Sports, I'm guessing your referring to Sky Sports. But why do so many refer to them as Sly Sports??

That would be right. Welcome to the site!

ChrisMiz

Sly Sports as they really don't check their facts before posting and can quite often use reports as a method of affecting betting on certain deals.

Dempsey will envieled at the press conference later on today on our tour

Truth

FSG web site says deal will be done by the end of the week. Today seems a bit soon.
CR

Five Live have just stated that both Fulham FC and Client Dempsey's agent have not agreed a fee with Liverpool FC, even though it was stated on the FSG website that a deal had been agreed. It was stated that they had not received any offers for his service. Who is telling the lies?

Fields of Anfield Road

Ben Smith who is very reliable said he has not signed, and won't today.

Fulham have denied receiving a bid from Liverpool for striker Clint Dempsey, after the Merseysiders' owners published an article on their website in which they suggested the American had joined the club.

Dempsey's name has now been removed from the Fenway Sports Group web post.

Copied from BBC..

Can't wait to see what some looks like once they've been envield.

Sly Sports reporting that Arsenal have struck a deal with M'Baye Niang.
FowlerGod.

Signed him on Fifa (manager mode), pretty good player if your going by that ;)

Brilliant young player
shame he will just rot in arsenal's youth academy and be wasted!

18 Jul 2012 10:27:17
looking like we could be after Ibrahim Afellay for as little as £3M, would be a great signing for that price!

Dempsey has completed his deal.
Source: Fenway sports group official website

I was on the site and see no such story - do you have a link? Cheers.

BJH YNWA

It doesn't state anywhere on there site that the deal is complete, there is however a video with NESN stating that a reported deal is set to be finalised by the end of the week.

Truth!

Aussie Red

Dempseys name has now been removed from this post on FSG's website (yet another PR blunder by the club!)

No it doesnt say that. it says acording to reports, RTFP

It has been removed and a journalist for the echo tweeted that no fee has been agreed as of yet but should be iminenet and he appeared on the lfc website but has been removed hastily lol

I saw that on the NESN website. Has been removed now. Looks like they jumped the gun

There is a link, linking back to LFC website which is quoting 'various sources'. Its also from a week ago.

In my opinion, I suspect that the move is agreed in principle but Fulham want time to sign a replacement. I'd expect this deal fairly quickly.

From South Wales Evening Post

SWANSEA City are bracing themselves for a firm offer from Liverpool for Joe Allen — but will demand at least £15 million before selling their midfield star.
Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins insisted last night that Liverpool have not contacted him over a move for Allen.
But the Reds' former Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers is a huge admirer of the Welsh international and it now seems inevitable that he will bid to take him to Anfield.
And if Swansea receive a megamoney offer from Merseyside, they will be forced to consider letting Allen go.
Swansea are well aware that Liverpool splashed out £16 million on another young, British midfielder in Jordan Henderson last summer.
And they are likely to base their asking price around what Liverpool paid Sunderland for Henderson should the Allen situation get that far.
Allen is happy at Swansea, the club he joined when he was just 12 years old, but he is likely to have his head turned if a club of Liverpool's stature table the sort of offer which would obliterate all previous records at the Liberty Stadium.
And while Swansea are under no pressure financially to sell, new boss Michael Laudrup conceded last week that Allen's wishes will have to be considered if a rival club makes a suitable bid for his services.
Rodgers left Swansea for Liverpool earlier this summer, when a clause in the compensation package between the clubs reportedly stated that he could not lead the bidding for any member of the squad he left behind inside the next 12 months.
But it now seems the clause does not guarantee that no player will follow Rodgers to the North West.
Transfer
Instead, the Evening Post understands, it will merely give Swansea the upper hand if and when they sit down at the negotiating table to discuss any possible transfer.
Swansea wanted to give themselves some protection when Rodgers departed, for there was a strong possibility that he would want to take one or two of his key players with him.
And for the moment at least, Jenkins is attempting to maintain that any deal for Allen is unlikely to happen.
"As always, as a club we want all our best young players to remain with us for the future," said the Swansea chief.
"That's the fact of the matter, and we don't want any speculation about our players leaving.
"We have had no contact from Liverpool and we want to retain all of our best young players. That's all there is to say."
Losing Allen would be a hammer blow for Swansea, for the Pembrokeshire product has emerged as one of their star performers over the past couple of seasons.
A technically gifted, composed and tactically aware midfield player, he was a central figure in the Championship promotion-winning campaign and then excelled in the Premier League last season.
Rodgers, who suggested Allen was good enough to play for one of the big four last autumn, reckoned the 22-year-old was Swansea's star performer in the top flight last term.
Should Allen end up at Liverpool, Laudrup will be left with a hole to fill in the Swansea midfield.
But Swansea would have a huge sum of cash to work with if a deal does happen.
Allen is currently away with the British Olympic squad, while Rodgers's Liverpool are on pre-season tour in America.
Swansea hope Allen will return to prepare for the new Premier League campaign with them next month, but it seems their old manager has other ideas.

15 million for joe allen, i agree he is a good player by paying 15 million is way out of the question, lets sign another midfielder from french league

redh0t

It seems Allen, Dempsey and Borini could end up costing the club around £50m. I doubt the club could recoup that amount if they sell both Suarez and Carroll.

Disney!

15k for a very average player the club would be better looking at a top quality midfield player rather than taking a punt on a over valued one from Swansea

£15 million. Haha. He's only worth about £4 million. I'm sick of Liverpool overpaying for rubbish.

How on earth will Borini, Dempsey and Allen cost £50 million ? Kenny and Comolli have left the club now you know.

Joe Allen could be the bargain of all time at between £12m and £15m. sell Downing to help with funds. but just get him.

It's pretty simple really, If Dempsey, Borini & Allen cost £10m, £11 & £15m respectively that equals £36m. Then add £7.2m VAT, at least £3.6m agent fee, £720k VAT on agent fees and then whatever their sign-on fees were. If they received a million each in signing-on fees then that takes it to £50m. I imagine Dempsey would want more than one million.

So Liverpool would have to let go Kuyt, Maxi, Carroll, Bellamy, Suarez & say Spearing just to break even. Interesting.

Disney!

Please please please BR do not spend 15million on joe allen!!

Borini cost £8m, Allen won't cost £15m, more like £7m. Kuyt and Maxi have left, Carroll will cost £20m and Suarez will cost at least £50m.

Lmao Disney, u just assume those values but no one knows the exact amount apart from Agent and officials at LFC. btw im pretty sure it is gonna cost around 38-43M tops for all three players including the stuff you mentioned e.g. signing on fee, ageng fees etc. I do agree tthat is alot for Allen, but people forget that it is the cost of most young football players. Mind you we may even have Allen and Henderson as our midfield for the next 7-8 years considering no one bids for them. Allen playing the part of Xabi Alonso of keeping the play ticking and passing around and Hendo playing the advanced role of passing to forwards and maybe scoring a few himself...15m for Allen maybe alot but if Chelsea offered 25M for Willian and the guy has no prem experience what soever and mind you hasnt recieved as much plaudits as Allen then whats the risk. There is no guarantee that Willian might come good in the EPL while we have already seen Allens potential hence for me, its risk worth taking.

P.S. Hazard may talk himself up, but until he proves himself as a established premier league player, he is just an ordinary player in my eyes. Ok so he hit up the French League and is like Ronaldo and was blah, blah blah but wasnt Schevschenko(spelling) supposed to be the guy who scores goals like as if he sleeps with the goal at AC Milan but at Chelsea, we know what happened...

True, but I was basing my valuations on the above post (Allen-£15m/Dempsey-£10m) and we already know Borini's fee was £11m. We also know that VAT is 20% of the fee and agent fees are a minimum of 10% of the fee. VAT on agent fees are also 20%. Signing on fees are unknown agreed, but I would say £3m for the three is a pretty accurate guess. It will certainly not be any less than that.

Even if we 'pretended' Dempsey cost £8m and Allen £8m (highly unlikely), along with Borini the overall cost would be a minimum of £38m. The true cost will end up somewhere in between £45m-£50m so I guess people cannot criticise FSG too much.

Disney!

Disney vat is paid back you clown, or should I say goofy. Don't bore us with your nonsense !! {Ed002's Note - Not entirely, it depends on a number of factore - and none is reclaimable for agent fees.}

If they want £15 mill we may as well go for ramirez allens worth bout £8 mill and dempsey £7 mill walcott £14 if we pay any more than that we being taken for a ride again

Walcott 14 million ? and he has no end product thats a joke ! i pray we do not buy walcott allen i can understand, dempsey i get it but walcott ? overrated i think

To the pedant who seems to think he's the first person in the world to realise there are costs beyond the simple transfer fee - there is no VAT payable on transfers with EU clubs so Borini doesn't count. Also a moot point about whether platters are "bought". Technically if they're under contract the club signing a player pays the other club to breach its contract. There are also lots of deals done between clubs that never make headlines that generate revenue or save future outgoings - example being a guy I talked today who negotiates for a lower league club who we have signed promising youngsters from. They arrange sell on clauses but due to tight cash flow they try and buy out the right to bigger money in 3 yrs time by accepting compo now. None of this ever gets publicised although it suits all parties to give perception that small team got sell-on. All the poster will encourage is
folks starting to bore us with posts that have purchase price, VAT and agents fees factored in. This is a rumour site not footballaccountants.com.

Dempsey signed according to FSG website.
JJ

Yes it does say that, but the video says a deal could be done by the end of the week

kevc

Checked their website and that is exactly what they are saying, they also have a clip at the end of the video saying that he has now signed.....do the Eds have any news on how accurate this is?
Boozley {Ed049's Note - it says, According to published reports.}

I saw the video it say the deal could be done by the end of the week but he has NOT officially signed

Deal could be done by the end of the week is what they actually said

Hardly earth shattering news is it?

It does indeed. You would think this would be annouced by Liverpool first though if true.

Very odd.

The site is hilarious first they say he signed then if you watch the video it just says he could sign according to reports. How does FSG allow a company they are associated with get away with that?

No it doesn't say that, it's just a report. No more credible than any of the English newspapers

Andy

It does say it on there website that is true, however after watching the report it does say that the deal is rumoured in the press to be completed by the end of the week and is not actually done yet.

Watch the video dude, says deal could be done by the end of the week.

Says that at the start BUT if you listen to the report it states "reports state that Dempsey is a target and may join by the end of the week"
Lets not get too carried away yet, but very happy with how things going!

Not official, the video on the FSG site actually says that the 'deal COULD be done by the end of the week'. I think Clint would be an excellent addition to the squad especially with Dirk & Maxi leaving!

Hes looking at bigger clubs now tho, EVERTON to be exact! LOL

FSG?? I am not convinced they are any better than the last two cowboys. No new stadium and Werner says he is looking forward to seeing "all the English boys" on Monday. He names them all, except Carroll!! If he goes back to the Geordies and they finish above us Rodgers can pack his bags. Anyone noticed you can no longer post on news items on the LFC website! The Yonks don't like criticism.

You can post on news items on LFCs website, but not on all of the current ones, as they are all links to the tour website, which you cant post on! Calm down dear! Oh, and Carroll wasnt the only England lad missed off by Werner! Get your facts right fella!

I really don't know where to begin with this moronic tripe! Rodgers better pack his bags was a highlight for me, hasn't even been in charge of a match yet and tools like this are already spouting their mindless bulls**t! GET A LIFE, or a blow up doll or whatever floats your boat squire but your input is not relevant!

Everton haven't won a trophy. They aren't even bigger than Leicester

Word on NESN.com is that we have agreed to a £10 million deal for Dempsey. NESN covers sports in New England and they don't usually post rumors so I apologize if this ends up being wrong

YNWA

Had to have a look, Yeah I seen it on there - Great news #YNWA :D

How can we pay 10mil for a guy who is almost 30! Whatever happened to fsg's buy young with re-sale value, its a joke

All clubs are taking a p..s. £10 mil for dempsey! This is a joke

This is garbage , just looked at fenway sports group site , and theres nothing about what you just claimed , your lying mate !! {Ed049's Note - www.nesn.com/2012/07/fabio-borini-liverpool-gear-up-for-north-american-tour-video.html}

Watch the video, clearly says the "deal is expected to be completed by the end of the week"

It says it in the headlines but if you watch the video they say that rodgers is trying to sign him and hopefully tie it up by the end of the week.might of been leaked to NESN or anything to do with the tour???

It says, reports say he has signed, not that he has actually signed

Its not a joke. Dempsey is a quality player who has scored goals everywhere at all levels. Why do you need a re-sale value when considering whether to buy a player. If he does a good job for us then we wont need to sell him anyway.

hay ed do u think we will get adam jonhson from man city.... whats are chance out of 10/0 pls.... {Ed029's Note - Sorry we don't do ratings out of 10 anymore as there are so many reasons as to why a transfer will or won't happen that it really isn't that predictable. What I will say though is at this point I still don't know of any interest in the player so unless that changes suddenly you can make your own mind up on the grading}

Hopefully NOT. Unless we pay no more than City paid for him.

John B

Do we need Johnson? Let's give game time to Sterling and Suso and use the Johnson money for a world class striker to partner Saurez.

Mike Ashley will re-bid for Carroll this Friday with a player swap deal .. Liverpool wants that player , Mike knows it and a deal will be trashed out this Friday , you hear it first !
Jordan {Ed029's Note - We have been saying about Newcastle bidding for Carroll with another player likely to be involved for a few days now, although the Friday part is definitely yours agreed!}

Is the player Ba? Talented but I really hope not unless 10 million is also included. Reason being he is a big risk (injury wise).

Ben Arfa/Cabaye no chance. Would love them but no chance.

Tiote no chance and would prefer Allen anyway.

My prime hope is that its Cisse because of what Ed002 said. For those of you who didn't read, ED002 said Cisse is unhappy at not being allowed go to the olympics. To be clear, he in no way said Newcastle are looking to get rid or that the player would want to go to liverpool or leave at all. Its a very slim hope I have.

Still. I'm pretty sure player will be Ba.

Cheers for the info eds. are we all presuming Ba? Would he want to come? Wat would u suggest the deal would be? I would imagine 8 plus Ba would seal the deal

Sisco

Could that player be Ben Arfa or perhaps cabaye? Long shot I know! :/

Eds any clue as to who the Newcastle player coming the other way would be? Although i still want to keep Carrol {Ed049's Note - reports suggest it is Ba}

The only player i would want from Newcastle would be Cabaye. The rest, forget it.

If Ba is to go to Liverpool as part of the Carrol deal it should be a straight swap.

Demba Baaaaad knees
Ben Arfa or Cabaye please

Why do we want a player with a dodgy leg, have Liverpool gone mad? First Aquilani, then Carrol now Ba have they got a thing for dodgy legs?

Tim Kruul plus £8m for Carroll, sell Reina for £15m

We all talking about one player plus cash of upto 10 mil. Any newcastle player I'd expect there to be £20 mil to. I do not want andy carol to go. He is defo one for the future. I for one thought he was just starting to settle on merseyside, massive shame if he goes.

Ba is the only one they would let go due to his low-price buy-out clause. Prob end up with Ba and £10m-ish, which i would take in a heartbeat tbh.

Just thought I would suggest this since i haven't seen it yet but could the player be steven taylor. there were rumors back in January bout us being interested and with reported interest in skrtel and agger could it be plausable?

If it is Demba Ba they will laughing all the way to the bank! We payed £35M for Carrol they signed Ba for free, then we swap!

Calveley

Straight swap for Ba when you can buy him for 7 mil IF he can pass a medical.
Red sheep.

I cant believe you lot, your all deluded, you will never get ben arfa or cabaye and never in a million years are you gonna get Cisse. and adding any nufc AND 20 million for andy, your joking right? nufc are a bigger club, bigger stadium, more fans. we dont want andy 'hoofball' carroll back, keep him. i had a chuckle reading all of your posts by the way

Plus only teams who qualified for the CL can get BA for 7 million so since you cant activate that clause you will have to pay double.

Do any of the eds have any info on thorgan hazard? people say he has the potential to be better than his brother and doesnt have his attitude so I thought he would be a big young prospect. And im guessing hes a winger like his brother so maybe pool should look into him.

Etphonehome {Ed029's Note - I heard a rumour that Chelsea were looking at him, but I'm not sure how much truth was in it}

There was a french corespondent on the radio earlier who said he is the worst of the 3 brothers (they have another younger brother who is 15) {Ed002's Note - It is very likely that Thorgan Hazard will complete his move to Chelsea.}

Hey eds,
Love the site. I havent got a rumour I just was wonderin could you give your opinoin on a poteinal signing of Gokhan Tore. Seen it mentioned in a couple of online articles. I know very little of the player but the fee was in the region of £5m which sounds reasonable for a tricky young winger.
Any respone will be much appreciated...
Cheers....

{Ed016's Note - Linked with West Ham also. I think its mainly because he is a former youth player BR once worked with. But nothing solid, seems like it has all come from pretty unreliable sources mate! Glad you enjoy the site}

I work in london and work with people with links to fulham and Arsenal. They have herd that liverpool latest bid for dempsey was 8.5 million plus add ons based on appearences. If also been told a bid of 16.8 million is set to be agreed with Arsenal for theo walcott.

Hi there hw can you pay so much for walcott wen he has onli 1 year left on hs contract. Liverppol is taken for a ride tx peeps

16.8 for Walcott - get off the stage........Next!
Boozley

There is no way Liverpool will pay more than £9 million for Walcott.

Why would we want to pay anything for Walcott?Nevermind £16.8M!

Happy days for us asrenal fans if this is true:)

17 Jul 2012 23:59:48
Fees agreed for both Allen and Dempsey both will come out as undisclosed but will 21m for the two

That's a lot. Perhaps 15 million is a better deal.

Allen looks around 10m-12m.
Dempsey around 6m-8m (poss up to 10m, which does seem steep)
That's as much as anyone knows re: price.
Why anyone cares in another thing entirely. Bloody accountants everywhere!

I would be happy putting this money into one truly world class player. Are we ever going to be a great team again?

I think 21 mill is about fair. They are easily 10 million pound players in my opinion and will really improve the team.

How can we pay similar amounts of money for these two? Dempsey for 10mil! Crazy!

Dempsey is an all round top class player and will be a great addition to the squad. Good in the box, good on the ball and good in the air. Could easily recoup a good amount of that from the US market. Otherwise FSG would not even consider this fee for a 30 yr old.

I could have done his job - a couple of games and get sent off...... you wouldnt have noticed me...

Rodgers monitoring Villa's rehab at Barca

Villa is almost fully fit and is training with the squad

Villa would be nice, in the middle of suarez and borrini. Hes got to get fit tho.

I really dont see Villa coming to LFC. His transfer fee and wages would probably be deemed too high, and he's almost 31 so that goes against FSG age policy for transfers. I'd much rather see us move for Tello or Afellay.

Waste of time from rodgers then.not a hope liverpool will get villa or anyone else half decent for that matter

17 Jul 2012 23:06:57
Clint Dempsey and M'Baye Niang are 2 top targets. Both can play anywhere in a front 3. Rough prices are £6-7mil each.

Dempsey is being targetted as Rodgers feels he needs more experience up top as Maxi and Kuyt have left, and Bellamy is likely to follow. Niang is full of potential. Very quick, skillful and strong.

AZ

Niang is currently having a medical and its not at Liverpool!

17 Jul 2012 22:12:57
Hi ed do you think aquilani really will stay with Liverpool this season, and if so will that be by his or the managers choice or more likely because no deal can be done {Ed001's Note - the latter, definitely, if we could offload him, he would already be gone.}

BR does like him though. I think he'll get quite a few games this year if he stays, in (limited) circulation with Henderson and Gerrard for the 2 ACM positions. Depends if Shelvey is on loan or not though i guess, as BR will want to give him games too.

Ed01 is spot on this one. off to Italy as soon as.

things seem to have gone a little quite on the western front, could this be as the team is in the states it's unlikely to see any transfer or all the work is behind the scenes, or maybe nothing will be done until carroll is sold? anything happening with dempsey eds?

(don't need to use search function guys i've been on here all day, things just seem to have gone a bit hush hush) {Ed001's Note - the club has always maintained a hush hush policy, it is only when things leak from the other end that we get news these days. Talks are still ongoing, but getting rid of Carroll or not, is not affecting the Dempsey deal. It is more about coming to an agreement with Fulham. They are not easy to deal with, which is why they have managed to keep hold of most of their better players in recent years.}

Time for Dempsey to ask officially for move ie request time?

Brendan Rodgers is lining up a £6.5m move for highly-rated Crystal Palace striker Wilfried Zaha, the Croydon Guardian understands.

Zaha, who has been a target for West Ham and Southampton in past weeks, is eager to secure a move to the Premier League, but insists he is happy at Crystal Palace.

Rodgers has'nt kept it a secret that he is an admirer of the Palace striker, sending out scouts to watch him during his spell as Swansea manager.

Palace have also said they would listen to offers for Zaha, but will try to get the best price for the England U21 international, who is also eligible to play for Ivory Coast.

Well what do you guys reckon? Personally, I think he could be a great purchase - young, skillful and gets his share of goals. Only problem I can think of is the price. He is proven in the English game but should we be risking £6.5m on him. I see it as a gamble but I think it's worth a go as he's 19 and could be worth 3 times that in 4 years or so.

Also, I'm new to this site. Well done Ed on keeping it so up to date!

Thoughts Ed?

LFC Dave. {Ed001's Note - Rodgers is his own man, so it is possible he would go for Zaha, I find it unlikely myself. I have read scouting reports on him, they were not impressed. 'Awful end product', 'terrible decision making' and 'tendency to run into blind alleys and waste good possession' were the 3 bits that stood out on the reports that I remember. But Rodgers may see something in him.}

Are you a scout or something eds sounds very scoutish why you just said and how you knew what was on a player scouting report ay;) {Ed001's Note - not a scout, but I know a couple of people who did scout him, and they were kind enough to show me their reports.}

Unfortunately, this could be the kind of signing we are limited to at present, with no top 5 finish for the past 3 seasons. BR will be looking at young players with potential to be shaped to play his system (see Borini, Allen) and who don't cost a bomb. Can only see Zaha as a wide forward, although that's where the gaps are at present so might not be completely unexpected if it happened. Saw him play twice. Once brilliant, once very very wasteful.

Don't think it will happen, although not a bad prospect. Think we have better prospects already at the club.

Ed001 is actually a secret agent for mi5 and he has done some work for the cia you have heard of 007 well ed001 is 6 better lol

A bad buy when castaignos can be had for less. Zaha struggles for goals in the Championship

Hi Eds
Super site.
Is it true that Ramirez has agreed terms with an Serie A club or is there still a chance he could come to LFC?
Rman {Ed001's Note - he has not agreed a deal with anyone yet.}

Ed how likely are we to sign Allen and/or Dempsey by the end of the week? And do you think they would join up with the squad for the tour or wait until they arrive home?

Cheers
Aussie red {Ed001's Note - I would personally not expect the deals to be done, these days it seems to take forever to complete a signing. If the tour is ongoing, any signings will join up with it.}

Takes forever for LFC Ed,others seem to do ok

Hey Ed(s),

Sorry to be boring...

Do you possibly know the stages the club is at with deals for Allen & Dempsey? Negotiating transfer fees, further than that or just expressed interest?

I'm gasping for something to get me up-beat, reading so many posts calling for BR's head is depressing me! Too many deluded fans on here...

Thanks,
Love the work you Editors do!

Stone YNWA.

Ps. If my question is ridiculous and you couldn't possibly answer it, don't worry posting ;) {Ed001's Note - talks are ongoing regarding Dempsey, it has been a very low key push for him, Fulham are already trying to bring in a replacement. I have no idea how far things are with Allen, I have no idea about the deal, sorry.}
