I've have a mate that's good friends with a girl, who's friends dad owns a chippy in Paris. Apparently, mbappe came in yesterday to order his usually, which Is a pie on a muffin and he said that he is coming to liverpool this summer. He said that he always wanted to see Liverpool's shipyard. Nailed on, I tell you.

All sounds legit to me better find out what kind of pies he likes.

La Pie de Moufin at Sing Fongs chippy next to the Kop. Aw man I miss match day even more now, the chips and curry sauce from there before a Champions League victory is just unrivalled.

Sounds legit.

Seems legit and backs up what i heard from a bloke down the pub. His grans cousins dog walker used to wash mbappe's 4th cousins go kart and he saw an LFC sticker on it last time he washed it.
He also said that we are using Naby, Taki, Ox, Grujic, wilson and an old pair of Virgils pants as a down payment on Ronaldo's 7 year old son. One for the future no doubt.

He likes a sip of dandelion and burdock to wash it down.

I told Mbappe about Byrnes chippy - he's now dead set on a move!

You guys are SOOOO gullible!

Everyone knows that Kylian follows a gluten free diet, so this is absolute balderdash!

I have heard on the grapevine that he was seen enquiring about apple deliveries at a local greengrocer's, though, but only from January next year ;-)

Apparently he will only eat meat and potato with pea wet. Just been updated but there is a dribbling block over the contract. He wants to be the highest paid player in the Premiership in meat pies. He wants 30 a week but the owners will only go to 10. Maybe we should start a whip round.

That is as iron-clad a source as you will ever find. Mbappe on the way then? Sound.

Who needs the Ed's or the fat kid from Bolton when we have well, Liverpoolmanc's friend who knows a girl who's dad owns a chippy in Paris where Mbappe frequents regularly.

Morning Eds

Just reading the rumours in the newspapers this morning and I see Man United have been offered the chance to sign Vinicius Jnr on load with option to buy,
If Real want Sarah would Vinicius Jnr be a good replacement with him still being young, wages will be high but surely better than Sarr who we continue to be linked with among others.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed0666's Note - I would prefer Sarr over Vinicius. You have to ask you’re self if he was that good why would Madrid consider letting him leave.

18 Jul 2021 11:55:01
Neither vinicius nor sar would be salah replacements.
Id go for chiesa if we sell salah.

18 Jul 2021 11:56:32
In fairness neither one of them is capable of getting even half of the amount of goals that Salah does. I can’t believe people would actually countenance selling Salah and replacing him with players nowhere near his level.

Thanks for the reply ed.

18 Jul 2021 11:57:48
Isn’t that like saying if Sarr was that good Madrid would want him? Vinicius has held a regular spot, created, assisted and scored goals at the highest level under the most intense pressure. Not sure not good enough is correct.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Jul 2021 12:30:46
you could also say that why is Sarr a Watford player and why isn’t he already at a top European club?

18 Jul 2021 12:40:37
Replaing Salah with Vinicius would be worse than replacing Suarez with Balotelli.

The system, coaching and tactical acumen is what makes our greatness, not any single player.
Pipco was one of our better players before he left and look what he became and what we became once he left. If Salah leaves we will adapt and goals will come from elsewhere, we won't suddenly become a worse side, and salah would likely not be as great in another side.

18 Jul 2021 15:10:44
Vinicius is a great player but he has nothing to do with LFC.

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Jul 2021 15:27:44
If he were affordable I would love him if either Salah or Mane left.

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Jul 2021 15:59:30
Vinicius has scored 8 goals and 4 assists in 82 league games for Madrid. Hardly pulling up trees at Madrid. So no, he’s nowhere near good enough. Yeah, I get that he’s good on FIFA, but in the real world he’s not all that.

Agree5 Disagree0

18 Jul 2021 17:30:21
Vicinius is 21 and playing for Real Madrid, when Sadio Mane was 21 he was playing for RB Salzburg and Salah was playing for Basel, but yeah let’s all write off Vicinius as being not good enough.

Agree5 Disagree0

18 Jul 2021 18:50:53
We keeping Salah forever then? He’s got a few short years left at this level. So if we are ever to cash in it’s got to be this summer or next.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - so do it next year when we’ve had more time to scout a replacement

18 Jul 2021 18:55:06
Both of Salah and Mane stood out in their respective teams. Vinicius only stands out by how poor he looks in a team that dominates most games. I’m happy to write off a player who doesn’t play for us and in all likelihood never will do. Madrid overpaid as they bought into the hype about him being the “next Neymar”, but have realised he’s more likely to be the next Denilson, now they’re trying to get shot of him as he’s never going to fulfil the hype. He’ll be back in Brazil by the time he’s 25.

I'd have to agree with VVVV on Vinicius. I've seen him play for Madrid and watched him also play for Brazil at the Copa America. He added absolutely nothing each time he came on for Brazil. He's not exactly uprooting trees for Madrid either. His all round stats look average at best. Reminds me of many other similar Brazilians who leave home too soon (Gabriel Barbosa, Ganso, Alexandre Pato, Jo, the Silva twins, etc., ) after all the hype and the pomp and circumstance and then get brought back down to Earth after wandering around aimlessly in the European leagues.

Yes, there's football talent undoubtedly there, but it's nowhere commensurate to the finances and attention being paid.

18 Jul 2021 19:42:48
Mane did not stand out at 21. No-one on this forum would have had a scooby doo who he was then.

Salah stood out a Basel yes, got his move to Chelsea and flopped miserably.

It’s incredibly remiss to write him off just yet.

18 Jul 2021 20:09:50
Shaq, you are underestimating VVVV, he knows everything about every player including what they do in their private life.

Seems to me the discussion is about three different things.

1. Most people on here think Salah if the ‘finished’ article. That’s possibly true and if it is you could argue that his resale value (to talk of him like a thing rather than a human) is only going to fall which could lead to the thought that we should sell and make the most we can for a replacement.

2. Having read the rags a lot of people are a bit nervous about United being offered Vinicius. The conversation then lead to a comparison of a young player with undoubted potential not being a fit replacement for a fully matured player who, since he joined us (note the phrase ‘since he joined us’) has been one of the best attackers in the world game. Talk of Vinicius being a straight ‘like for like’ replacement is wide of the mark and. Retain, y unfair on the lad - certainly not deserving of a character assassination.

3. Ringo Starr was a technically average drummer and had a nasal, flat singing voice. He was however the drummer in the greatest band that ever graced a stage - no contest, no argument, end of story. For truly great team the sum of the whole is greater than the sum of the parts and there is more to being part of a team than being the best in your position in the world. I suggest that is why Klopp rates Matip so highly and to be fair the club do seem to be getting it right far more often than not.

There is nothing to say the club will sell Salah or want to buy Vinicius but if they wanted to do either or both I think they deserve our support in what they do.

Some sources are saying madrid have enquired about vvd and have been given a straight no by liverpool.
Also a lazio are looking at keita on loan.

18 Jul 2021 09:43:19
It’s either cash or hit the road for Keita, if we loan him he’ll turn into the new Markovic.

18 Jul 2021 11:52:50
It will beVery difficult to sell him though, without a huge loss. He has 3 years on his contract and if we loan him and it works out for him A) he gets his playing time which i doubt he will with us. B) we can sell him on comparatively less loss.
In current climate i don't see anyone bidding for him.

18 Jul 2021 11:58:49
I can't see there being a single team on the planet would honestly believe they could prise Van Dijk away from Liverpool at this moment.
Clickbait, and folks will always fall for it.

18 Jul 2021 12:52:53
I'd be very open to a Keita loan. The player has confidence and training issues. I'd like to see if those can be worked out some before resorting to moving him at a huge financial loss.

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Jul 2021 13:24:03
VVD, like Salah and Mane may want one last big move, and so it is not beyond the realms of possibility that he could leave in the next year or so. The wheels keep turning no matter who comes and goes. That is until Klopp leaves and we end up with a manager half as good as he is.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Jul 2021 13:40:45
Keita has been a disappointment and i know he's not popular on here but were too light in that position and he still too good and will be needed too much this season to be simply loaned out. i think he'll be here next season because no one is going to offer us enough to be tempted into selling him.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Jul 2021 13:58:29
I reckon Naby gets one more season, but competing with whoever we bring in, and down the pecking order. If that does not motivate him to try harder, then he is accepting that his future lies in a mid table side as a nearly man. This is why it is imperative that we buy a starter for MF.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Jul 2021 16:01:41
Sell him, take a hit, better that than the farcical situations we had with Markovic and Bert Water where they came in in big money, did nothing and went on pointless loans which came to nothing, get rid, the man is a waste of space.

Recent experience (Markovic, Grujic, Wilson etc etc) has shown us that Edwards will go into an endless series of loans rather than sell below his perceived value of players or lack of buyers. True, the economic environment has changed drastically, and I expect him to adjust his prices downwards, but still not sell if the lower prices are not achieved. Anything is possible. Keita could end up on loan or Edwards could pull a rabbit out of the hat once again. To me Keita is more like a nuisance that is distracting from development of players like Thiago, Curtis Jones, and Ox. Also a distraction if you consider potential incomings like Saul Niguez, Renato Sanchez or whoever else is going to come in.
