Hi Ed. is it real that LFC is targeting marcelo brozovic from inter? Recently i read some news that lfc is trying to get brozovic for the next season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I can't see why Liverpool would be interested in Marcelo Brozovic unless Klopp was looking to move Fabinho on. To the best of my knowledge he was discussing a contract extension after an approach from Galatasaray was rejected - and he is ceratinly not on the list of players that Inter Milan are looking to sell.}

I might be clutching at straws but I’ve seen enough of Naby live to see there is a good player in there. It’s just a case of applying himself.

He did at one stage, get a run off games where he started to play well, then he got injured again. Staying fit will be key for Naby and I also have heard he’s been decent in training.

I haven't seen enough of Naby to make a comment. However, what has been the problem with Naby at Liverpool guys?

CFCShak - Ed002 provides a pretty good summary on why keita hasn’t quite found his place yet. Just search keita.

Stories so far saying C.V. lockdown and training has shown a significant improvement let’s see if that shows on the pitch.

I've always said he badly needs a pre season or a period of preparation to build from. Last summer was a disaster for him being forced back early from injury for his country which made him lose out on the chance to get up to speed and ready for what klopp wants. He's spent last 2 seasons almost trying to catch up but I hope he can get a chance to settle and prepare properly to start fresh.

Naby is too fragile we paid big money for him and he’s givin nottin back 2 years here now African aquallani As it is!

Naby will come good. We will be rushing to extend his contract come Jan 2021.

I really hope Naby comes good. He always seems to pick up these niggling injuries. Unfortunately With his track record 3 months off with a 3 week pre season and almost back to back seasons and a African nations cup thrown in the middle might be a big ask for him.

19 Jun 2020 11:38:46
I can’t see Klopp selling him, he’s a 10 million pound player we bought for 50 odd. Most of his signing have been class but this one is a huge let down up to now, if anything he’ll end up on loan.
One thing good about Naby tho is he took Wijnaldum and Henderson to another level. So buying him made them better, that was obvious.

Any truth in keita leaving and neves joining?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - It seems rather speculative based on Rangnick taking over as coach, but he has been a disaster at Liverpool. The Italian government could block a move based on his conviction and I don't see how Milan could easily pay for him. Regardless, if there were a good offer for Keita I would expect Liverpool to seriously consider it as the return on their investment has been dreadful. I am also told he has played well in the recent "pre-season".

Neves is a DM and plays in a different position to Keita - so he would be a more suitable replacement for Fabinho - I am not aware of any approach by Liverpool.}

18 Jun 2020 18:29:50
Ed002, is there frustration within Liverpool towards Keita, or is his situation viewed as mostly unlucky? I know we've discussed issues with learning English, and also overall maturity, but those seem immaterial to being able to affect such a big talent so much. I'm not sure how a guy can be "on the cusp of breaking out" for so long. Something's not right here.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Well the club is hardly going to be happy with the advance payment they made, the last season in Germany with his beaviour, the court case and conviction, him failimg to learn English giving work permit issues and his occasionally being picked as a starter given the significant investment.}

18 Jun 2020 21:12:04
Do you mind to specify the "court case and conviction" part, Edd002? All in all, sounds like Liverpool wouldn't mind passing Keita on if the money is right? Maybe that would free om some minutes for Curtis Jones.

{Ed002's Note - The player has got himself in to trouble.}

18 Jun 2020 14:44:39
Is there any interest of coutinho joining back to us and are we looking for a proper forward.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - As has been explained Coutinho will have been considered.}

18 Jun 2020 23:22:10
If we were to decide on a loan deal do you think it will come as a deal that will see us not recieve the last installment or is that instalment way bigger than a potential loan fee?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am nt sure what you mean.}

Could there be any truth in keita possibly leaving I have heard ac milan are interested or a return too Germany?

{Ed002's Note - It seems rather speculative based on Rangnick taking over as coach, but he has been a disaster at Liverpool. I'd love this fella to come good. There's a regular starting place for him in our midfield I reckon depending on the opposition e. g. one of those games where we want a more attacking shape - he just needs to stay fit. Ultimately he could replace Hendo, surprised to see it was his 30th birthday yesterday!

I'm assuming Keita is on a 4 or 5 year contract. So basically the first half (or almost the first half) of the contract has been a failure from a footballing point of view for the club. The return on investment the club was expecting has been nowhere what the club planned on. Yes he shows glimpses of talent from time to time, but then so do one season wonders, and we've all seen plenty of those. If an offer close to our purchase price comes in, I would look at it seriously. And re-invest in another player showing the promise Keita showed but didn't deliver.

I don't see Keita as a successor to Henderson at all. Keita has nowhere the physicality to be able to carry out the role Hendo carries out for us. And judging from the various stories and events that have occured since I first heard of him as a target, I see him as somewhat of a lightweight, both physically and mentally. Of course he is still a talented footballer, but being the linchpin of our midfield is probably a step too far up for him.

Voronin was a free transfer. His goal against Toulouse set Liverpool up to the Group stage of CL - that goal paid for everything (including his beach holiday! ) . Keita is a 52m bad investment but hopefully, he will come good.

18 Jun 2020 18:43:35
How can you call Kieta a “bad investment “ been ravage by injuries but when he has played he has looked like he could do well for us with a good run in the team. If the club decides to sell him I think they would recoup the transfer fee. Unbelievable statement that mate.

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Jun 2020 18:50:02
I was all for moving him on but he might just get another under the current circumstances.
There are glimpses of a good player on occasions, when he's fit but he needs to stay fit and get a run of games to see if he is the player we hoped he would be.

Scouse John L8. But why is what I wrote "an unbelievable statement"? Which part of it is unbelievable? Do you think the club is happy having paid for a player a year in advance before he joins and then seeing almost 2 years of non-performance from him? And there are other issues with him, but my post was not about slating Keita at all, and citing those issues would appear to be exactly that, slating.

Joe Gomez went out for a year and nobody said a word. Ox was out for a year and nobody said a word. And they both contribute far more than Keita does. So we're not exactly heartless monsters who don't understand the meaning and consequences of the word "injury". I supported Sturridge for as long as I could but once it became apparent that two years of injuries and not being available to play meant that he too should be moved on.

I don't think keita has the desire to stamp his authority on the team, his value has probably decreased also .

You are deluded to think Liverpool would recoup their fee.

Behave John. Lightweight, frightened of the big occasion and looks like a headless chicken at times. Unfortunately, some players just do not adjust. I would love to play against him as an opposition player.

First time posting on here. I don't get all the slate about naby.
Fair play he's riddled with injury at 52m an you want your moneys worth but everytime i see him play a lot of players back off him because its near impossible to press him with close control.

The midfield balance is not quite up to scratch to accommodate midfielders like him. Maybe if he had a bit more weight on him people would be comparing him to yaya or something lol.

I think Keita will end up being a success and prove all of you ‘supporters’ wrong.
