Can anyone tell me what Fabio Coentrao's situation is right now? Is he available and do we have any chance of putting a bid in for him?

The lad looks amazing and adding him to Lallana and Carvallo would improve us no end.

Thanks.

Believable10 Unbelievable14

{Ed002's Note - Manchester United, Monaco and Juventus spoke with Madrid about Coentrao in January and Spurs had shown an interest but a chance of taking him last summer makes it look like that interest has waned. However, Real Madrid asked the player to stay until the end of the season so nothing happened in January. Certainly Jorge Mendes spoke with Liverpool in January and at that time the club said they were not interested. The player would not object to a move to Italy should the opportunity arise and Inter and Juventus may give him that opportunity, perhaps as part of a package deal that could see Morata, Coentrau and Di Maria go in an exchange for Vidal or Pogba if Real Madrid push hard enough. The player has said that without guaranteed game he would like to move and interest will still be there from Manchester United, and as Liverpool are looking for a left-back, perhaps they will bid for the player. Jorge Mendes was in Manchester and Liverpool in late January to talk to the clubs about players and was in the London at the end of March talking to another club about two different players, but as far as I know he did not meet again with Liverpool then. I would think the most likely destination is Inter Milan right now as no one else is pushing.}

Thanks for the detailed response Ed. It's encouraging to hear that we are at least aware of him and that he could become available.

He's got lots of skill, pace and strength, looks like he puts a shift in and is definitely a crowd pleaser.

Hope we stick a bid in. If your reading this Mr Henry get your cheque book out!

Agree1 Disagree5

If he wants regular games and Madrid are not willing to do that wouldn't a loan be a good move?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he is at an age where a loan is of no benefit to his current club.}

We desperately need a good left back and yet we say that, we're not interested in Coentrao. We show interesr in Bertrand. BR's transfer tactics are really very worrying. Who in his right state of mind would pick Bertrand over Coentrao?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he's married.

Agree0 Disagree0

It could be money? Coentrao is going to cost 15-20m as well as having to fight it out with other clubs around the world

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe we have learnt from our past mistakes.
Maybe. just maybe. we have enquired and been told its a no go from the start and rather than chase a player for month's that we have no chance of signing, we are looking else where!

You know, the suits at the club are in a no win situation. Damned if they do damned if they don't!

We have in the past spent month's chasing players that there is little to no chance of getting (Salah, Willian. I could go on)

It may just be we know we have no chance of getting the player and therefore. what's the point in trying?

Any interest in James Milner? Good adaptable player can play in midfield or on the wing? Is rumoured to be leaving city in the summer because of first team opportunities which Liverpool could give him? wouldn't cost a bomb I am guessing about 10 - 13 Million?

Cheers Eds Love the page

Believable9 Unbelievable36

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

Would be a good squad player for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

28, high wages, wants game time. How could Milner be a good signing for us? He's not better than Gerrard, Henderson, Sterling & transfer target Adam Lallana who will all likely start ahead of his for England.

Hi eds noticed recently we have been linked with alexis sanchez what a signing he would be. I tried the search engine nd it said we haven't showed interest for a while with him being available and meeting the criteria of what br is after do you think we might show an interest in him soon?

Believable21 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - He will no doubt be one of several hundred players joining Liverpool before the transfer window opens. If Liverpool are interested, he is available. There has already been talks with another club about him (Juventus) and Arsenal have made a tentative approach. Liverpool haven't.}

I don't know who this concerns but a group of lfc officials have flown to spain to try and tie up a deal.

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - I rather like the airport based rumours. (14 Liverpool officials seen with Duty Free bags stumbling off an Easyjet plane at Madrid airport." At least they have gone in a group so the whole gang will be there if a fight starts.}

Apparently a group of Liverpool players are due to fly out to Brazil, who are they tapping up? I've heard Ronaldo maybe holidaying out there too!

Agree2 Disagree0

Will the incomings and outgoings at Barca depend on the new manager or are some players going regardless? (Not including those already leaving like Valdes)

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - A large driver will be the issue about not being able to buy again until January 2016. LE will be allowed input I am sure.}

18 May 2014 19:20:36
Ed, if signed, is it likely that Emre Can is replacement for Lucas. Around £10m; this would be a fairly similar fee we would expect receiving from lucas. Though, Can is a versatile player too.
ngcool

Believable13 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I appreciate Bild has said he has signed, but he hasn't. I ham tapped out on the subject.}

I just don't get all of the rumours and stuff floating about on this guy. All the reports saying he has signed and we are about to get him etc even though as the Eds have stated it is very complicated with his link to munic. It's a mad one to me and Ed has said it ain't happening so that's good enough for me.

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - What I said was "he hasn't signed". Liverpool will know the situation with his contract and, even though he has done well this season, Bayern Munich see him as perhaps three years from their first team - hence the deal they have.}

Thanks for that Ed

I bet your annoyed at all the posts on him. If Bayern see him as 2 or 3 years away from there first team I don't see how we would see him as ready now for the prem.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Like Ilori, Alberto and Aspas?}

Well neither of those 3 seem to be anywhere near our starting 11? I'm getting mixed bag now From you Ed? What are you saying?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - Obviously I am not saying anything.}

19 May 2014 08:47:45
I cannot see this happening,why would Leverkusen sell him.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 May 2014 17:34:12
Lovely sunday one and all,

If you're around Ed02 could you explain Bayer and Bayern's agreement regarding Emre Can?

sportBild reported today that Leverkeusen can sell Can this summer and plan on doing so to avoid Bayern chosing to exercise their buyback clause and take him for a lot less next summer.

Is this nonsense regarding the contract & clause?

also, the new integrated login function is pretty handy, nice one guys

Believable10 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - There is a clause in his contract that allows Bayern to exercise and option to buy the player back at a fixed fee in 2015. My understanding is that they do not consider the player is ready for the first team just yet and will probably not exercise the option but will look to negotiate an extended period where another option kicks in to buy the player at a fixed price - maybe in two or three years time.}

Well if the fixed fee is below the quoted figure then it would make sense for Leverkusen to want to sell now than give him back to Bayern at less than what Liverpool would offer now. Unless like Edward said, they negotiate an extension on this clause and up the figure. blaah that's just my opinion.

Agree1 Disagree0

Bayern do have a buy back clause.but they can't stop the sale going through unless they take up the option to buy him back now(if there is an offer on the table).they can't force the club to keep hold of him until they want to buy him.

The club are actively touting Lucas about, Inter and Napoli are interested. Emre Can is of interest; negotiations aren't as advanced as published however. The Lallana deal is unlikely to happen, before the world cup anyway, as Southampton aren't playing ball.

Thanks for you answering my previous posts btw, Must do all your heads in with everyone's questions.

Hi eds
Do we actually hold interest in Emre Can or just paper talk
In your reply you had mentioned that a move to Liverpool is unlikely due to Bayerns buy back clause and somewhere else that it is time constrained
If so then till when does the clause apply?

Believable5 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - The end of next season.}

Can Bayern interfere with any proposed transfers of Emre to other clubs this summer?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - There is a contract with Bayern Munich that allows a break point next year - as such they would need to waive that - and why would they do it? I struggle to see why this is so hard to comprehend.}

But do we actually hold interest?

There are reports this morning that City maybe offloading several of their English players
Do you know if BR has looked at Micah Richards as he can cover CB and RB?

Believable3 Unbelievable12

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of interest from Liverpool.}

18 May 2014 13:58:09
Sup eds just wondering if there was any interest in Jack rodwell from city? ssn are saying they are looking to sell and he was an excellent prospect before and I think he is the type of player I think rodgers could improve like hendo only problem I can think off is the fact he used to play for everton which may result in no move.

Believable3 Unbelievable13

{Ed002's Note - Not from Liverpool Shane.}

Love the site - first post here Eds, so please be gentle!

With Spurs missing out on UCL, any chance of of Liverpool making a raid for any of their players - LLoris in particular

Believable1 Unbelievable10

{Ed002's Note - I wouldn't think so. Liverpool has never shown an interest in Hugo Lloris.}

With talk of bringing in a keeper though from ed001 then any interest in Lloris wouldn't be a surprise I don't think. Spurs wouldn't sell cheap though!

Hi eds,
Other than Rojo have Liverpool shown solid interest in any other central defenders in the past month?

Thanks

Believable6 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Rojo is a left back primarily but can play centre back. There was interest in Hector Moreno. It has been suggested Caulker as well.}

Caulker isn't better than what we have, hopefully we look elsewhere.

ssn are reporting that we want Bony, if Suarez were to leave I think he'd be a great signing.

Believable4 Unbelievable80

Thats one of the worst rumors I've herd this year

Agree3 Disagree0

Disagree, they're completely different players. If Suarez was to go we'd need another striker that's able to drop deep and join the play, and that's not Bony!

Agree3 Disagree0

Almost passed out laughing.

Agree2 Disagree0

Red Raj, why did you almost pass out laughing? Whether he's exactly the same as Suarez or not, he's proven Prem quality, has ability, has clearly got an eye for goal and for a pass, and whilst he's good in the air, he's obviously not just a 'big man'. There's no doubt he's not as good as Suarez, but it's unlikely someone as good as him would want to join us, they'd cost huge money and be a major risk. Nevertheless, I presume you would want us to spend countless millions on a Cavani or Falcao if Suarez were to leave. Remember, most big teams only have one top quality striker.

Agree1 Disagree2

I mentioned Bony a few weeks back and although I don't think he is in the same league as Suarez he has had a great first season. Yes he took time to settle but with the run he had in the team due to Michu's injuries he has shown his class.

Personally I think for the right price he would give us another option which we don't currently have at the club.

Hey eds are we interested in shaqirii. Would be great if we did. Also are we looking for strikers to back up SAS. We can expect them to play every game in a 40 game plus season!

Believable7 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - Shaqiri is one of the players Bayern are looking to sell and they are seriously pissed with him right now. Sevilla and Fiorentina have a declared interest with Liverpool, Napoli and Juventus having made tentative enquiries. Bayern are taking an interest in Pogba and are looking to include Shaqiri in a deal - but Shaqiri apparently does not want to go there and Pogba is settled, at least for a week or two.

Borini has returned so perhaps that will be enough. There is a growing feeling that there is interest in Kalou but I have nothing confirmed right now.}

Sorry Ed can't see Liverpool being at all interested in Kalou. He is a squad player at best and Liverpool are looking for more quality and possible starters.
Royzered.

Agree0 Disagree1

Sorry eds meant to say we can't expect them to play every game in a 40 game plus season!

Several sources claiming that we are looking Saul Niguez of Atletico Madrid. He is 19 years old and can play both central and defensive midfield and gained valuable game time last season on loan at Rayo Vallecano. Niguez is attracting the attention of several clubs throughout Europe including other Premier League clubs.

Believable9 Unbelievable8

He was linked back in January too and the money quoted then was prohibitive.

Agree0 Disagree1

AG, always the way when it comes to foreign clubs selling to English clubs. I am unsure how much they are looking for but let's assume it is north of £10m, as per usual.

Hey eds

With city offloading Sinclair I was wondering could we see Liverpool have a look? I know his playing time has been abysmal this season but on the other hand he is a player br knows very well! If not any idea where he will go?

Believable2 Unbelievable18

{Ed001's Note - no and no, there is not much interest in him, he has failed to impress. The only interest I know of is West Ham, and then only if he takes a sizable pay cut.}

18 May 2014 10:59:05
BR made a comment recently about how he'd be looking to extend Gerrard's contract for another year in light of how good he's been this season. With that in mind, are there any other players that the club are looking to reward with contract extenstions? In the past few weeks I've seen names like Henderson, Sturridge, Sterling and Coutinho all listed as people who may get new contracts this summer and was just wondering if you guys had heard anything more at all?

Also, with Skrtel's form over the past season is it likely that BR will look to keep him for at least an extra season, and therefore allow Ilori out on loan for another season and have Skrtel and Toure, and maybe Kelly, competing for the RCB berth?

Cheers!

Believable2 Unbelievable8

People who do well at the club are rewarded with an improved contract. Suarez having signed 2 contract extensions is an example.

Henderson, Sturridge, Coutinho and Sterling may all well have an improved contract offered in the summer. Probably along with the manager.

Agree1 Disagree0

Yeah, obviously I get that. I was just interested to know whether the likes of Sturridge, Coutinho and Sterling (ie people who still have 3/4 years left on their existing contracts) were in line to receive a pay-rise before any interest in them becomes public knowledge, so as to ward off any potential inquiries.

I meant to add Flanagan and even Jordan Ibe to that list as well.

Ed001

You mentioned that the club are looking to replace migs, Does pepe reina at all come into consideration to be ahead of him until they can find or afford a replacement.

Believable1 Unbelievable11

{Ed001's Note - from what I am told, he burnt his bridges last summer.}

I thought BR made it clear when he declared how odd it was for a player going out "on loan" to write a public explanation letter. This was clearly seen as a sign of disrespect and the final nail in PR's coffin at LFC

Agree2 Disagree0

18 May 2014 10:16:39
Eds, can you just list some keepers in which we have taken interest as a replacement for Mignolet? Is Begovic on that list, as we were allegedly interested in him last season?
Secondly, if we do get the keeper we want is it likely that Mignolet will stay?

Believable2 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - apart from Begovic, who is unlikely as he rejected us last summer hence our move for Migs, there are a lot of keepers we have been checking out. There have been a couple of names from South American football put forward, there was also the option of Julio Cesar, but I believe that has been decided against. Forster was checked out, but I was told he flapped too much at crosses so was unlikely. Butland interest may be revived, as Begovic is unlikely, and it is felt Stoke will struggle to keep both happy.}

18 May 2014 10:34:50
Hi eds. Any chance of us going for martin Montoya? I think he would be the ideal signing for us. Keep up the good work

Believable3 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - No Dave. Martin Montoya is looking to stay in Spain although there is interest from Bayern Munich and Roma.}

18 May 2014 10:20:24
Hi Ed02,
is Liverpool happy with Mignolet`s performance or is the club looking for a new no 1? thanks

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Liverpool looking to replace Mignolet but I know that Ed001 understands that they are.}

18 May 2014 10:20:11
Hi Ed02,
do you think Suarez will be the main topic of transfer rumours this summer? Will Liverpool be strong enough to turn down +90-100m offers from Spain? I think Luis will be sold for a massive fee. I`m just a bit worried about how this money will be reinvested. Just hope it won`t be the case of last summer Spurs.

Believable3 Unbelievable11

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool won't want to sell but if a very significant offer is made and if the player wants to move then there has to be a chance. As he explained, he takes the advice of his representatives about what is best for him - and we know what they have been doing. We'll see.}

He seems settled here for the first time I think, but he is quite capricious and can change his mind. I hope there are no interviews given to some newspaper without LFC consent this summer.

Chances of him moving this summer is possibly less than last summer perhaps. Real Madrid or Barcelona would need to pay big, the player needs to agree and even then LFC can block a move. But I suspect we will try to avoid another transfer saga. If he bleats about leaving LFC this summer, and a very attractive offer is made, we will probably sell him IMO.

Agree3 Disagree0

18 May 2014 09:56:25
Ed, younwere saying that we may be looking for a replacement for mignolet. Just wondering if there is no chance at all that reina may be kept next season instead?

Believable4 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - never say never, but he doesn't want to be at the club and the club are happy to get rid.}

Reina said his goodbyes last year when it seemed like he would get his dream move to Barcelona, but that has now disappeared and he tried tracking back to see if he could come back to LFC. BR responded candid;y and now Napoli will be most likely be buying him.

Agree1 Disagree0

ED 001 - You say Mignolet doesn't want to be at the club? Why would he not want to be at a club on the up, in the CL and starting every game?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I never said that at all. I said Reina didn't want to be at the club, hence why we signed a replacement. I have never once suggested Mignolet doesn't want to be at the club.}

18 May 2014 08:22:32
Hi Eds. Heard reports of us making an £18 million pound bid for Sanchez. Seems a little far-fetched to me - is this actually a possibility? Thanks

Believable7 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any bid from Liverpool at this time. There has been some interest from Juventus and Arsenal. Barcelona will be willing to let Sanchez move on and would be open to using him in a player exchange deal.}

A potential sweetener if they come calling for Suarez?

Agree0 Disagree1

Would love to see him at the club, but i'm not holding my breath.

A summary of the players we are linked with
KEYLOR NAVAS
Ed02's Note - Levante goalkeeper Keylor Navas is an alternative to Steve Mandanda for Atletico Madrid. AC Milan see Navas as a replacement for Abbiati. Wigan and Everton have both taken interest in the player recently. A move to sit on the bench at Liverpool is not at all likely.

MICHAEL VORM
Ed02's Note -
. I cannot confirm anything about Vorm.}

DEJAN LOVREN

Ed02's Note - It sounds like speculation. Liverpool have not made any approach to Southampton about lovren

STEVEN CAULKER

Ed02's Note - I know nothing of interest in caulker sorry.}

HECTOR MORENO

there has been interest declared in Hector Moreno.}

MICAH RICHARDS

Ed02's Note - I am not aware of interest from Liverpool in Micah Richards right now. Given Richards likely price, wages and history of injury problems, I am rather surprised that there is interest still from West Ham, Milan, Galatasaray and Newcastle.}

INIGO MARTINEZ

Ed02's Note - If Real Sociedad decide to sell Martinez he will be expensive. Last year Roma, Zenit, Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea and Real Madrid showed some level of interest or other in him. Barcelona maintain an interest but any thought of Athletic Bilbao being interested seem wide of the mark. Real Madrid will look to Mangala or Inago Martinez if they lose Varane.}

MARCOS ROJO

. There is certainly interest in Rojo who could play CB as well as LB

CANER ERKIN

Ed02's Note - Fenerbahce and Caner Erkin have failed in their discussions over his contract which runs out this summer. It would not surprise me if Liverpool were looking at him as he does have a good reputation. Cerainly Hannover 96, Arsenal and Roma have had him watched. I understand he has a very high signing on fee and wage demands.}

RYAN BERTRAND

Interest has been rekindled in Ryan Bertrand

FABIO COENTRAO
Ed02's Note - No, Coentrao will sign a new deal or move elsewhere.}

MARCEL SCHMELZER

- Ed02's Note - I am not aware any interest from Liverpool at this time but Marcel Schmelzer fits the bill of a left back. Apparently Dortmund know nothing of this either.}

A COLE
Ed02's Note - Liverpool has shown no interest in Cole at this time as far as the player's agent is concerned. Even though the club cannot talk to the player he is aware of a number of options. The MLS is one. A very significant offer from Turkey is another. There is interest from one EPL side but it is not Liverpool and I understand they stepped back when the costs were mentioned.}

ALBERTO MORENO

Ed02's Note - The full release clause for Spanish clubs is being asked by Sevilla for Moreno and that has so far put off interest from a number of clubs including Real Madrid and Spurs. Manchester United and Manchester City have had him looked at. Atletico Madrid remain interested but not at the price being asked. Chelsea have been trying to negotiate a deal for him (as first choice over Shaw, Bernat, Filipe, Sandro, Nagatomo and Kurzawa) but there is no agreement at this time.}

SHAW
Ed02's Note - Liverpool has not shown interest in Shaw.}

JAVIER MASCHERANO

Ed02's Note - Mascherano will certainly be available this summer and his representatives have been speaking with Napoli.}

JAVI MARTINEZ

{Ed02's Note - Javi Martinez will not be moving to Liverpool. Sorry.}

DANI PAREJO

Certainly interest remains in Parejo but no bid has been made yet Atletico Madrid are also interested

WILL HUGHES

Will Hughes is continuing to attract interest from several clubs including Liverpool, Everton and Newcastle. It remains unconfirmed but it is thought both Arsenal, Southampton and Manchester United might also be interested in Hughes at the right price. Derby has priced him at a level which will make a transfer very expensive for the buying club. I suspect it will become clearer after the play offs.}

EMRE CAN

Ed02's Note - A move to Liverpool for Emre Can seems very unlikely given he only joined Lerkusen last summer on a four year deal that has a break point after two years when Bayern Munich can by him back. An approach from Roma was rebuffed for this reason

GRANIT XHAKA

Ed02's Note - Xhaka moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach last year although there was interest over the summer from Inter, and Lazio had two offers rejected. Roberto Martinez looked at him as Wigan Manager last year and may well still be interested now he is at Everton. I would not discount both Inter and Milan looking to him at some point. I am not aware of confirmed interest from Liverpool.}

ADAM LALLANA

Ed02's Note - It is simple, Liverpool want to buy Lallana who might well attract interest from a number of clubs if available but Southampton do not want to sell - unless a particularly attractive offer is made that matches their evaluation. Liverpool have made an offer which is entirely unacceptable to Southampton - but could make another offer which offers more money and improved terms - or perhaps make an offer that includes a player or two.}

IVAN RAKITIC

Ed02's Note - There is a chance that he will agree a new deal with Sevilla and it is likely that Real Madrid will step in with a good offer for him. Chelsea have rekindled interest with some recent discussions and the chance of a player moving exchange. Bayern Munich are keeping a watching brief.}

WILLIAM CARVALHO

Ed02's Note - There is interest in Carvalho from a number of clubs still and there have been recent approaches by Juventus, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid. Chelsea seem to have passed on previous interest because of the cost. Sporting would ideally like to keep him a year or two more. The asking price will likely beyond what Arsenal would want to pay and I suspect Manchester United would also baulk at that price unless they see an impending bid from Manchester City. Atletico and Inter would look for a different solution financially. Jorge Mendes was in Manchester in late January to talk to the club about him and was in the UK at the end of March talking to another club about two players. Whether or not he met with Manchester United or not I don't know. At best I would think they have told him that they would like to take the player and would like to sit down with Sporting and him to see if a deal can be done - but they know the price and it is significant and there seems little room for negotiation. Liverpool looked at the player earlier in the year but I am not aware of any interest right now.}

MATEO KOVACIC

{Ed02's Note - Although a representative of Mateo Kovacic said that the player cannot perform under Walter Mazzarri and he would be ready to consider offers from certain clubs (effectively Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich or any of the major London clubs), the player has backtracked from that position. A move to Liverpool must be considered very unlikely at this time.}

LAZAR MARKOVIC

Ed02's Note - His part owners do not consider him ready for the EPL at this time. He can be sold but another side has an option to buy the remainder at a fixed price. If Liverpool were to look to buy him they would probably need to pay well over that price.}

JUAN GUILLERMO CUADRADO

Juan Guillermo Cuadrado has been subject to the interest of Arsenal, Juventus and his co-owners, Udinese. Spurs and Liverpool have had the player watched

XHERDAN SHAQIRI

Ed02's Note - Shaqiri is one of the players Bayern are looking to sell and they are seriously pissed with him right now. Sevilla and Fiorentina have a declared interest with Liverpool, Napoli and Juventus having made tentative enquiries. Bayern are taking an interest in Pogba and are looking to include Shaqiri in a deal - but Shaqiri apparently does not want to go there and Pogba is settled, at least for a week or two.}

VIKTOR FISCHER

Viktor Fischer has been subject to recent interest from Milan, Manchester United, Manchester City, Roma and Werder Bremen. Ajax has negotiated a new contract with him but might let him leave as, when fit, he has not been performing at all well. There is a suggestion that Liverpool might be interested but it remains unconfirmed although they have certainly taken a look.}

NICOLAS GAITAN

Ed02's Note - My understanding is that Manchester United and PSG did speak with Benfica about Gaitan in January 2013 but no bid was made as the asking price was seen to be far too high. Interest from Bayer Leverkusen, Spurs and Arsenal will have waned in the summer. I understand that Benfica also had an approach from Anzhi for Gaitan but the player made it clear he has not any interest in talking to them. Else, I understand that the interest still remains from Manchester United and PSG, but not at the price being asked. He would have been allowed to move last summer but Benfica did not drop their price, so nothing happened. He will sign a new contract at Benfica. I am not aware of any confirmed interest from Liverpool but as an option to other wide players being considered he might be a viable consideration.

RODRIGO
Valencia, Atletico Madrid and Zenit have shown an interest in Rodrigo who is owned by a third party rather than Benfica - if Liverpool are looking to him he would be as a replacement for someone else.}

YEVHEN KONOPLYANKA

Konoplyanka was subject to two significant offers this past summer - from Galatasaray and Zenit - both of which were been turned down. I expected to see PSG, Benfica and Arsenal make a bid in January, and possibly Fiorentina, Spurs, Liverpool, Manchester United, Schalke and Dortmund to look to the player, but it was only Liverpool that made any significant effort. Right now it is PSG, Bayer Leverkusen and Spurs who are showing interest and looking to negotiate a transfer. Liverpool seem to have dropped the interest they had.}

CRISTIAN TELLO
Ed02's Note - Liverpool was amongst a number of clubs who enquired after Tello in January but Barcelona said he would not be moving in January but may move on in the summer if the circumstances are right. I would expect Liverpool and Milan to push for a deal in the summer and possibly Porto who have spoken recently with Barcelona.}

ANTONIE GRIEZZMAN

Ed02's Note - Atletico Madrid, Valencia, Marseille, Rennes, Fiorentina and Lyon have shown some interest in Griezmann in the past year and repordedly Barcelona tool a look at one time. Whilst the kid has said on several occasions that he has no plans to leave Spain anytime soon, the financial problems being faced by Real Sociedad may still see him leave the club in the summer. He has had a good season which have led to enquiries being made by Juventus, Arsenal and Chelsea; and Manchester United and PSG having the player watched on more than one occasion.}

ALEXIS SANCHEZ

Sanchez will probably be available but Liverpool has not shown interest at this time.}

DUSAN TADIC

{Ed02's Note - Roma, Dortmund, Barcelona, Everton and Schalke showed interest in Dusan Tadic in the past. His agent says Liverpool have rekindled their interest from last summer and Galatasaray remain interested but a move is unlikely.}

ROBERTO FIRMINO

{Ed02's Note - Firmino agreed an extension recently but will very likely move in the summer with Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Shakhtar, Zenit, Manchester United and Schalke interested - but Dortmund pushing for a deal. I am aware that Everton, Dynamo Kiev and Liverpool have also looked at Firmino but have not declared interest with his agent. Roberto Firmino was previously subject of a rejected bid from Southampton.}

HATEM BEN ARFA

Ed02's Note - Newcastle has done a fantastic job in sorting out Ben Arfa over the past 2 years but again issues are arising. There was a time when it looked like Marseille were just going to give up on him. I recall my wife saying that Bursaspor offered to take him on loan and it was seriously considered before his moving to Newcastle. Arsenal and Schalke have previously an interest but if Newcastle were to make the player available this summer then I would think PSG would be the desired destination for Ben Arfa. I know nothing of any interest from Liverpool at this time.}

JEREMY MENEZ

Ed02's Note - Inter showed some interest in Menez over last summer but were put off by an injury. He has said that he would like a return to Monaco but they are not showing any interest. There has been serious interest from elsewhere including Fiorentina, Bayer Leverkusen, Galatasaray, Juventus and Milan. I would not totally rule out interest from Liverpool, but they have not approached the player, his agent or the club at this time. There were discussions over a new contract but I suspect PSG are happy to let him move on.}

ANDRE AYEW

Ed02's Note - l'OM are more than happy to sell Andre Ayew and if anyone makes an acceptable offer to both the club and player then he will move on. Knee surgery blocked any chance of a January move but he is now back fit and in the team. Last summer saw some interest from Newcastle, Inter Milan, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Dynamo Kyiv. Liverpool also enquired after a guideline price for the player last summer. Right now there has been no firm interest in the player raised with Marseille beyond an offer that is on the table from Napoli. It will be down to his agent to see what other potential suitors there are - probably in Italy or England. The player has suggested he would like to move on to a "better" side and cited Chelsea, Real Madrid or Barcelona as ideal destinations - he will be waiting a long time for that. As of last night, l'OM have not been approached by Liverpool or Manchester United but are aware of speculation.}

HEUNG MIN SON

Ed02's Note - A number of clubs have been looking at Bayer Leverkusen's Heung Min Son even though he only moved last summer. Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool, CSKA Moscow and Juventus have all had representation at recent games.}

ALEXANDER LACAZATTE

Ed02's Note - I understand that Napoli, Spurs and Arsenal have had Lacazette watched and that previous interest from Roma and Juventus remains. He is having a good season and by the summer I would expect that there will be interest in him from a number of clubs, including Liverpool who have had him watched. There may well be talks with his agent but Lyon has said they have only had an approach from one club at this time - and that is not Liverpool.}

Thanks reet.

Nice one mate

Nice one, thanks.
I'd take lallana and Ben arfa from that list as a successful window. Anything else would be a bonus.

Thanks for taking the time.

Much appreciated. Cheers man.

suggestion: why not add this kind of summary in your menu?

or maybe just refer to this instead of the search engine :-)

German newspaper Bild are reporting Liverpool have signed Emre Can for around 12million Euros. Heard great things of him having come through at Bayern and started pretty much most of the season for Leverkusen at the age of 20. Also looks okay on the ball so fingers crossed!

anything to the news or is it just German rumours?

Believable7 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any agreement.}

Any chances on us buying Griezman?

Hi Ed
Is there a realistic chance for us to buy lallana and what about a new goalkeeper who can compete for number 1with migno.thanks ed

Believable5 Unbelievable5

{Ed001's Note - yes, though I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you due to the price probably stopping us, it is more down to what their manager chooses to do as to whether he will move. He wants reassurances of funds to spend, he won't get as much as he wants and will have to sell to raise more. So even if he decides to stay, he could still decide Lallana is for sale. This is why it is a tough one to call. We need to offer more money either way.
As for keepers, we are looking to replace Migs, if we can get the right guy in.}

Is that the case Ed001? That we are looking to replace Mingolet?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - that is a possible option, depends on other deals though.}

I think migs has had a relatively good season. but news of us looking for a replacement make sense. I think we would be so much more calmer with a keeper that is good with his feet and has better distribution. it will raise out game that little bit more.

Agree1 Disagree0

He might be replaced, I think we all know BR is kinda unhappy with Migs distribution and lack of commanding in the box.

But I would also say that he will only be replaced if we get our priority targets / positions in first and there are balance of funds.

Agree0 Disagree1

Ed001, I don't suppose you are aware of who we could turn too if they become available? Purely as speculation.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - we have shown interest in the Celta keeper Sergio. Following Luis Enrique's resignation, there will be a few players leaving them this summer and he looks likely to be one of them. He does have other interested parties after him though, Ed002 was telling me when we discussed this a while back.}

Vorm, frazer foster (Celtic) both been tentatively approached. Bergovic also a candidate. Seems BR isn't convinced Migs can develop but may wish to stay and fight for his place in which case jones could leave if we sign an older GK. petr Chech (spelling) anyone? He may leave

Agree1 Disagree0

18 May 2014 09:17:26
and the Celta GK you mention is awful Mate, like seriously awful he has played 4 games in the last 2, 5 seasons and did I mention he is 179 cm tall. A midget as our goal keeper is a "good idea" He is basically celta's 3rd keeper. If anything of this is remotely true I am starting to seriously fear if BR knows what he is doing at all actually. Not just in the transfer market!

Agree0 Disagree0

18 May 2014 09:12:49
replacing Mignolet? LOL, sorry but that is Nonsense.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - is it? Then why have we had half the keepers in Europe scouted with a view to replacing him? Mignolet has not impressed the club at all, his distribution, especially under pressure, has been cited as a particular weakness of his game. Worse, it is felt that he has shown signs of getting worse, rather than better, with his kicking. The only thing that will keep him in the job for next season is if we can't afford to replace him.}

Ed b4 we got him the scout reports must have seen his kicking was poor so why didn't we just pay the extra to get begovic it looks like we will make a loss selling migs now anyway so any money saved going to get wasted

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Begovic was not interested in the move.}

Begovic was interested in a move. Stoke wanted too much money is how I heard it.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 May 2014 10:19:57
I didn't know that ed. Because Ed002 has mentioned many times we are not going to replace him and that we are not looking for a GK. I'll go away now, didn't mean to bother you. But another transitional season it is :) Maybe Ayre wasn't talking out his backside when he said it will be a different squad next season. Jippi am so "happy" the club is loyal to the players who got us 2nd and also that we're experts in blowing away money. 15 million on Aspas and Alberto, according to you 9 million on Mignolet, 7 on Ilori. "Fantastic" transfer comitee :D "fills my heart with hope" NOT

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - oh for heaven's sake, you really need to find things to whine about don't you? Transfers are always risky. Even more so when you can't afford to go out and buy the finished product and so have to take a chance on those who might mature into what you want, such as Alberto and Coutinho. Sometimes it pays off, like it did with Sturridge, sometimes it doesn't, but whining about it does nothing. Staying loyal to players who are seen as a weak link would just be idiotic and is why United sunk so low this season. That is the one thing Paisley learnt most of all, in his own words, to never do, is stay loyal to players, no matter how much you may like them. If you can buy a better one, then you do so, and move on the one who isn't as good.
As for the GK, it is a recent thing, stemming from Brendan having a stronger hand to play due to the team's fantastic performances this season.}

19 May 2014 00:31:20
Any idea or thoughts whom the right guy may be Ed001?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - not really mate, Begovic would be the one I would think most likely to be the target again.}

18 May 2014 00:23:10
Sorry to post again so soon eds but do you know if we have we made a new bid for Lallana as is being widely reported?

Believable2 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware. You would need to break in to the SFC offices and check the fax machine.}
