If he went in January (unlikely) then could it pave the way for a creative Mid?

It's getting to that time of year again, the media speaking nonsense because the transfer window is around the corner, our players will be linked to X club and X players will be linked to us, the majority of the time it's not true.
Buying another midfielder right now would be a daft move imo, it wouldn't make much sense and the only way I can see us going for one would be in the summer IF Milner was to depart, which personally I can't see happening.
I think the next two transfer windows will be mostly about who we can move on because we have quite a few players who I can't see playing another game for us (or very little) such as Origi/ Solanke maybe even both?, Lallana, Migs, Grujic, Markovic. Speaking of Markovic am I right in thinking his contract ends next year?
