My 'ideal' transfers before the transfer window closes;

OUTS

Mascherano- Swap
Insua- 4m
Maxi- 4m or loan

INS

Eto'o- Swap
Konchesky- 3m

If we got Eto'o I would like to see us play a 4-3-3 with Jovanovic on the left, Eto'o on the right, and a midfield three of poulsen, gerrard and cole.

Liverpool Rumours
All these rumours of us signing this striker and that striker WHY! we have a good striker in ryan babel who has just scored a quality goal against good opposition.the lad deserves a chance and should be given a decent run in the team.rafa nearly destroyed him by never picking him even when we had injuries and when he did play and he scored he was dropped for the next game.no wonder he was frustrated.the little money we have should be spent on a decent left back and strengthening the bench to give us better options when we have injuries and suspensions.wright phillips, parker, bridge, gary cahill would be great additions and wouldn't break the bank either.

Toivonen played for PSV against Sibir earlier today, which probably makes him ineligible for the Europa League, if the rumours are true about our interest you would have thought we'd have made our move by now, especially with Spurs sniffing round.

Good friend of mine who is often good for his word. I'm not saying this is true, i'm just the messenger and am in no way suggesting this is a 100% factual. However he is a good source for the odd bit of gossip.

He told me Remy will not sign for us, this is now confirmed anyway now he has signed for Marseille.

Cavalieri will be for up to 2.7 mil.

Mascherano at the moment is no closer to leaving but if it does go through he will go for Parker. However will not go above 12 million. This also depends on Parkers co-operation meaning a transfer request may have to be handed in on his part.

Just a genuine rumour I heard from a good source.

Re: Takeover / finances

I heard that Barcap are preparing a package to pay off the RBS loans and thus removing them (RBS) from the equation. Not sure if this due to difficulties in negotiations involving many benefactors or simply a take over is not expected for few months yet and by then the loans should've been paid.

Anybody else heard anything similar??

Cavalieri, Plessis, Itandje, El Zhar on their way out. Possibly Darby and Spearing aswell if the prices are right.
Masch, Insua, Aquilani, Babel, N'gog, Maxi to stay

Toivonen and VDV to come in for combined fee of £13m. Toivonen to come cheap; because he played today in the Europa League. (cup-ties him) Van Der Vaart to come cheap as he's not a regular starter, and occasionally not on the bench.

Overall transfer window:
Out:
Cavalieri - £3m
Plessis - £2m
Itandje - ?
El Zhar - £2m
Riera - £5m
Benayoun - £5.5m
San Jose - £2.7m
Degen - Loan
Total - £20.2m
In:
Toivonen - £7m
VDV - £6m
Jones - £2.3m
Poulsen - £4.5m
Wilson - £2m
Cole - Free
Jovanovic - Free
Shelvey - £1.7m
Total - £23.5m

Liverpool is again linked with the dutch striker Rafael van der vaart. In my opinion top priority signer. although he has stated many times that he wants to fight for his spot in real madrid. maybe roy can persue him though. .

but i assume you all know that since you all check liverpoolfc.tv . anyways i think van der vaart would be just the guy they need.

Believable if you want him , Unbelievable if you dont. .

Liverpool Rumours
Carlos Salcido has not got on the plane with PSV for the Europa League tie tonight. This has doubled the chance that rumours of a move to Liverpool will come true. Ola Toivonen however has travelled and is likely to start or play some part which would cup-tie him and all but rule out a move to Liverpool which only a couple of nights ago seemed 90% certain to happen.

Liverpool Rumours
Very reliable source that I cannot reveal has informed me that William Gallas will be joining Liverpool, personal terms are being negotiated but this is just a formality. As for the take over, I can promise you this will be made by Sheikh Mohammed personally. He has left the yanks in a real dilema, they don't like him and he dosnt like them but his last minute offer is too good to turn down! LFC will be a passion for him we've all seen how well he invests in his passions (horses). Just like everything in Dubai the new stadium will be bigger that originally proposed and will have the best facilities in the country. mark my words.

William Gallas' agent Etienne Mendy is in London for talks with Spurs over the possibility of a free transfer move back to England for the former Arsenal defender, it has emerged.

I have it on pretty good authority that the Huang bid is not the best for the club, hence him trying to rush it through with the promises of trying to buy quality players before the transfer window shuts, conning the fans into thinking his is the best offer. This is a massive decision for LFC that should not be rushed. This is the most important decision the club will make this century. . I also have been told that DIC (Sheik Mohammed is very close) to buying the club. .

Im not saying your wrong in your post as all the facts point to the conclusion that a deal maybe off but Hodgson has said that that the league is the priority this season, so maybe he thinks that we have enough firepower for the europa league we Torres, Ngog and Pacheco and Toivonen will be used for the Prem (if he does in fact play tonight)

Am i the only one who doesn't buy the story of Huang getting frustrated. If he wanted a deal done before the end of the transfer window why was he quoted as not having entered a formal bid by mid July? Even more worrying are the quotes from just a couple of weeks ago that he hadn't even gained all the investors needed to back him. I'm sorry, but i think he and Kirdi are just likely after some free publicity before perhaps eventually aiming for a lower team that will bite their hands off. The mystery of quite what, if anything, Huang owns/ fronted with regards the Cleveland Cavaliers is also more than a little odd.

I'm still of the opinion that we'll probably change hands late Septempber and the new owners will not have broken cover to speak about the process before then.

Van Der Vaart from Madrid has been seen in London - This may indicate a move to Spurs / Arsenal, but he was talking at length with Liverpools chief scout, Eduardo Macia, about a deal to move to the Reds.

Macia has been given the authority to handle to transfer, as the club want to so this 'under the radar', so not to alert a host of other interested clubs.

Madrid are happy to accept a loan deal, with an option to buy at any point during the season.

Liverpool Rumours
Chinese businessman Kenny Huang is set to give up on purchasing Liverpool as he is frustrated with the lack of progress his bid for the club is making.

With current Reds owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett looking to sell the club, Huang is one of the parties interested in buying, and submitted an offer for Liverpool.

The Liverpool board is verifying that each perspective owner has the funds they have offered and are deciding which bid they will accept, with the bidder that receives the majority of the votes getting control of the club.

According to The Guardian, Huang is growing impatient as he hoped to buy the club before the transfer season ends so that he can provide Reds boss Roy Hodgson with funds to strengthen the squad.

No left back will be purchased - Insua will stay as his wage demands put him out of reach of any team willing to bid (and he is not prepared to lower his demands) plus we have Aurelio, Agger, Kelly and Wilson who are more than capable of playing in that position and, also expect to see Mavinga feature this season after impressing Hodgson in pre-season.

Leaving will be (confirmed):
Cavalieri - £2m
Nemeth - £2m
Itandje - Released
El Zhar - £3m
Spearing - Loan

Plus there is still a chance Mascharano will leave (mon £25m), but chances are this will be on transfer deadline day, so little chance / time of spending the funds.

Hodgson has a total of £25m still left to spend, and will look to bring in a striker and a versitile midfielder with a bit of bite, so I expect to see Parker (£15m plus Spearing on loan) and Bent (£10m).

Marseille have confirmed they have reached an agreement in principle with Nice for striker Loic Remy.

The 23-year-old is currently en route to the Stade Velodrome to undergo a medical after Nice accepted Marseille's offer which, according to reports, was in the region of 15million euros (around £12.4million).

Remy's future has been the subject of intense speculation all summer with a host of club across Europe chasing his signature.

Liverpool update:

Roy has confirmed his interest in PSV striker, Ola Toivonen, and is looking at 2/ 3 more players to complete his squad - and make it competible to get in the Top 4; possibly the title.

Ryan Babel is likely to stay at Liverpool, and no offers have been made. Diego Cavalieri, though is on his way out of the club to go to Cesena - following the arrival of Brad Jones, and personal problems.

Javier Mascherano is looking more and more likely to stay at the club. And if he does leave, it won't be on the cheap, as of course RH would like to keep him if possible.

Saying the above, funds must be available if this is true, and Liverpool are looking to buy Toivonen, and maybe a few others.

Roy is also a fan of N'gog, and is highly unlikely that he will be on his way out. He tried to get him on loan last season, but ended up with Stefane Okaka from Roma.

So, round-up:

Babel, N'gog, Masch looking likely to stay.
Cavalieri on his way out.
Roy is looking to add 2/ 3 players to his squad. Ola Toivonen being one of them.
Roy also says this:(Ola Toivonen)
'We are interested, but this doesn't mean we will rush out and buy him tomorrow.' Roy is quite adept at saying one thing, and meaning another. Joe Cole as a prime example.

So expect to see a couple of new signings, and some to leave: El Zhar, Plessis, Itjande as they're over 21 and would be a waste of a space. Spearing to stay, Darby might leave.

I don't think anyone is learning. At left-back we now have Fabio Aurelio and Emiliano Insua, we do not need, therefore will not be signing another left-back. Roy is looking at positions we need, which is currently just the striker role. He has identified Ola Toivonen as the best target here, but of course he is having difficulty stumping up the £10m to sign him, hence why we're looking at Roque Santa Cruz. He's a good striker with a good eye for goal and competitive in the air and would only cost us around £6m.

Wayne Bridge flew out to Romania yesterday with the Man City squad for their Europa League match. Stop posting carp, and if you are going to post such rubbish, at least do a little bit of research to cover your back!

Presumably the bloke posting "carp" thought this rumour was fishy!

I heard on radio city that the Huang takeover is not going to happen. Normaly i whouldnt care too much as we have all been guessing who is going to takeover the club. I work security and lastnight a man i work with said his daughter had a new job, long story short her new job is working for the law firm that is handling the Huang bid! She showed him how much he is worth if he sold all his shares, bonds ect and it came to a staggering amount £1.553 Trillion! ! This is no word of a lie i kid you not.

{Editor's Note: I fear that you may of been the subject of a cruel prank by your work mate.}

This morning we seem to be strongly linked to the signing of Roque Santa Cruz, i never clam to be a football expert (unless arguing with a bitter blue or a Manc) but surely he's not good enough for Liverpool, i recall him having one good season a couple of years ago, since then he's done nothing, maybe i'm wrong?

If you think he's good enough for us please click unbelievable and believable if you agree with me

Liverpool are set to open negotiations with Dutch side PSV Eindoven over a possible double £10million swoop for 24 year old Swedish striker Ola Toivonen and Mexican full back Carlos Salcido, 30.

It is no secret that PSV are looking to offload World Cup star Salcido after making the pacy left back available for a knock down fee of around £3m. Despite Liverpool re-signing Brazilian full back Fabio Aurelio, manager Roy Hodgson wants to strengthen this position and with the future of Emiliano Insua still in the air, Hodgson sees Salcido as an ideal candidate to fill the void.
Toivonen has been tracked by Liverpool for the past few weeks and he has been watched 3 times, by Hodgson, Assistant boss Sammy Lee and the Anfield club's Chief Scout Eduardo Macia. The Swedish international, who was watched by Liverpool representitives during the recent international friendly between Sweden and Scotland, has impressed the Liverpool scouts and most importantly the manager and signing him has now become the clubs main priority.
Toivonen has also been atttracting interest from Tottenham, but it is understood that Tottenham would only be able to bid for the striker if they manage to overturn Swiss club Young Boys next week and progress to the Champions League group stages. Hodgson is aware of this interest and will try and tie up a deal over the next few days before learning Tottenham's European feat.

Kenny Huang will NOT win the Liverpool bid! I have heard from a very reliable source here in Hong Kong that he knows there are two other bids in front of his and that he would have to increase his a lot further in order to stay in the race. . .any links to the takeover now are purely for self advertising of him and his companies. . .cheap marketing as it is such a popular story!

I am in Dubai over the next few days meeting up with a couple of mates who are well connected and will see what more they know.

Why does everyone believe that SWP is coming to Liverpool he isn't that's it get over it plus he's not good enought for liverpool.

There's only 2 players coming in a striker Torivian(sorry about the spelling) or santa cruz and a left back koncesky or bridge and that will be the lot untill the takeover is done.

Watch this space end of the week for one of them signings if not both.

Roy has said that he hopes to bring in 1 or 2 players on top of brad jones, i suspect a left back and striker and if mascherano goes a replacement for him. we already have enough injury prone players so no carlton cole or santa cruz please. .i think a striker is priority, with a decent back up to torres we can mount a serious challenge this year

{Editor's Note: I don't think we need a left back any more.}

I hate my friend for telling me this.
But Roy likes, Javier, but Masch deal has all but been agreed to by Liverpool, he did not disclose terms, but Liverpool are keen to get something now, over nothing next summer.
A heartbroken Red, YNWA.

I will hold my head up high and hope for alot of $$$ in a takeover, but i have no idea right now where my beloved club are heading.
Keeping Torres, and Gerrard is great, but they need to stay healthy, and we need depth!

I hope we get Defour, Ruiz, Salcido, and i would be in dreamland if we could bring in Ashley Young.

I would be happy with a top 4 finish this year.

Personally, out of all the players we've been linked with over the summer id like to see;
Forwards. . either Ola Toivonen or Bryan Ruiz join, both if possible. Could Andy Carrol be an option? Loic Remy and Andre-Pierre Gignac just don't cut the mustard, and whilst Connor Wickham and Romelu Lukaku look extremely promising, we need players for the now.
Wingers. . Arda Turan would be my ideal signing, Marc Albrighton could be a possibility, iv read that the Liverpool board are seriously looking at him after losing out on Theo Walcott, James Milner & Adam Johnson in recent seasons. Shaun Wright-Phillips shouldnt even be considered.
Midfielders. . I don't think we need anyone, if and only if another centre midfielder leaves (excluding Javier Mascherano) do i think, Steven Defour or Ever Banega should be looked at. Xabi Alonso is far too expensive.
Wingbacks. . Taye Taiwo is the only player to be linked who in my opinion would better our defence, enough with the Carlos Salcido and Paul Konchesky nonsence
Defenders. . With Jamie Carragher, Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel all very capable and the promise of Daniel Ayala, Danny Wilson and Martin Kelly, i think its fair to say were quite comfortable for centrebacks.

Alonso was a great player and we all loved him. But, he left last year. So, don't get your hopes up by believing he's coming back, because he's not.
When he left, as a replacement we bought Aqualani, who recently people have been saying he's going to leave. I don't understand why people want him to leave, when he joined us he was injured for months and when he came back he barely got any match time to improve his match fitness or to show us what he was capable of. I highly doubt he will leave. I truly think this season we should allow him to have a proper chance to shine.
Also, all the talk of players like Banega and other CDMs to replace Mascherano if/ when he leaves seem pointless. We have just bought Poulsen so it's unlikely another CDM will we coming our way.
And the way i see it is why do we need to play CDMs, why can't we play 4-4-2 or 4-3-3. More attacking football is what we need.

Ed what do you thik of my comments?

I find it outrageous that we are being linked with so many strikers given the amount of money that we have. i expect only toivenon and ruiz. i don't like the other strikers

{Editor's Note: Don't you think that Toivenon and Ruiz would cost us much then?}

Got to reply to the large submission that sounded reasonable - until the last statement - about Tony from the Times.

If that is the same Tony ( Evans I think his name is, I had to turn it off every time he came on because he sounded like a bitter blue) that was always on Talksport telling us non stop that Stevie G and Torres were definitely leaving - listen to the man - and believe the opposite. If he says Huang is the best bid - it probably isn't.
That man has stopped me buying the Times, I couldn't bring myself to contribute to his wages.

Let's just wait, if and when we are bought.

I've heard this guy on talksport as well, he announced about a month ago that there were no buyers for LFC and we were in dire straits(great band). Your exactly right everything he says, tends to cause the opposite to happen. Who is this geeser Ed and IS he as good as he thinks he is? {editor's note - do you mean Tony Evans? Because any guy who would work for the Times, which, you have to remember, is the S*n's sister paper, is not worth listening to.}

Ricky van Wolfswinkel - not alot said about this chap but I believe out of all the strikers linked to LFC this deal could be the most likely. In an exclusive interview after his Holland debut he has been quoted saying that it would be his dream move and hopes that the deal can finally go through.

This rumour was originaly posted on LFC.TV however i was recently working in Utrecht, (Holland) and this is something more than a passing gossip.

I believe the deal could be agreed at £6-8m. Apparently scouts watched his debut?
