Liverpool to sign Zezinho from Juventude for £1.5million in January. He is 17 years old and a LW.

He was going to sign for Liverpool in May 2009 but didn't.
He was going to sign for Arsenal in January 2010 but didnt.
He is now 18 years old and signed for Santos in February 2010 and was valued at the time at 15 million pounds.

If you are going to look at archives make sure that you look at the right ones.

Would love a loan deal for alonso, he and jose do not see eye to eye, and a deal may be struck if madrid get swienstiger in jan. also ed, if liverpool are looking for a young tricky match winner, would you take arjen robben? no one has mentioned him yet. {ed's note - Robben is not young, his pace is not what it was, he is injury-prone and I don't like him at all.}

Ed, reports in the papaers are suggesting torres has a 50m buy out clause, personally i think if he wants out he should be allowed to leave, i would rather we did business with barca than city or chelsea. maybe dani alves (very doubtfull) or bojan as a deal sweetner.
when torres left athletico madrid they used the money to buy aguero. torres was to madrid what steven gerrard is to us, and although he has been missed at madrid, he has been replaced, and with 50m we could go out and pick from the worlds best forwards.
also ed, ive heard douglas costa is unsettled and manure are interested again, last time i saw him play, he looked like a bag of tricks but very light weight, would he be worth a punt in your opinion? {ed's note - I am not convinced by Costa, I would rather buy someone who offers us something different, we already have a couple of decent young lightweight strikers in Suso and Pacheco.}

100m Euros is like over £80m. They won't get Torres and Fabregas for that given that both clubs don't need the money and will demand massive fees.

But I'd love to see Mascherano's face if Fabregas joined.

In MARCA there's a report that Barcelona will be making offers for both Fabregas and Torres in January and that they have €100m available.
But then again it's MARCA.

Thanks for your reply, i would like to address both points.

1: There is no loyalty in football so I'm sure the thought of us trebleing his wages plus the history of Liverpool and the lure of European football would do it.

Would anyone care to tell me sensibly why Andy Carroll shouldn't be our number one target?.

{Editor's Note: He has made it clear he wishes to build a career at Newcastle. Additionally, he has had off-field problems and needs to show that he has overcome those.}

2: By the time we wait for him to prove he is a decent chap his value would have rocketed and he would probably be playing for our rivals.

Also, as well as he has played this season, he is still unproven. His first touch is a bit suspect if you ask me. And the fee between two English clubs for a young English player is never small. Liverpool could buy a much better player for the same price. But, that's just an opinion.

Hey ed, could you please explain to me how Rod Fanni can be in a Marseille shirt today against Lyon when he just agreed to join them a few days ago? How can they sign players out of the window?

Olivier {ed's note - players can agree deals at any time, they just can't play for the new team until the transfer window opens and the deal can be completed.}

That's what I tought as well, but I am watching the game online and Marseille had a RCB starting named Fanni.

{Editor's Note: He was signed to provide cover for an injured player and may play immediately if agreed by the French authorities.}

There is definite interest in llorente but we will probably lose out on him, valencia wll be our hunting ground for our scouts, dominguez, hernandez, joaquin, banega, soldado, navarro, mata, tino costa, villareal will be looked at with nilmar, rossi, carzolatotally agree with you there valencia definetely hv some class acts like the ones you mentioned along with villareal.

i live in valencia and i think players being looked at will be carzola mata and pablo, fantastic players.

Regarding the speculation on GOMEZ at Bayern, i really can't see this happening. He just scored against his old club and has a fantastic goal:game ratio this season and was branded by the commentator as the only 'hope' in Bayerns worst start for 19years. He was also a Bundesliga record transfer in the region of 30-35million Euros.

So with all aspects considered, we won't be spending amounts like that on 1 player and why would Munich sell anyway?

{Editor's Note: As strikers go Jozy Altidore is OK for an American - he is simply not of EPL standard I am afraid - one goal in 25 or so games for Hull must give you some sort of hint. There is no interest in the player from Liverpool that I have heard of at all.}

i was just saying that altidore is a possibility, the dani alves rumour is solid scouting in spain has been doubled so alot of players in spain will be chucked around the tabloids in next couple of days

Ed do you think the new owners would want to buy an American player so they can get more publicity?
if so who you think we would bring in?
i think if this is true maybe Maurice Edu or Michael Bradley.

{Editor's Note: I don't see an American player as being a likely addition at this time.}

jozy altidore in the summer is being linked, this jan if johnson is sold we will BID for dani alves, probably unsuccessful but its going to happen. if we don't sign him we will go for an experienced right-back so he will not get in the way of kelly or wisdoms development, as kelly is a centre-back by trade. we will definitly sign a striker in january.

{Editor's Note: I would not expect to see either Mourinho or Guardiola at either Manchester United or Liverpool. And I am pretty confident about this.}

Mourihno WILL takeover once Fergie retires, I would bet everything I own on it.

{Editor's Note: Sadly you would lose then.}

Why are you so sure Mourinho won't take over from Fergie?

{Editor's Note: It is simply not going to happen - he was considered previously and the club did not want to attract the level of attention that would be associated with him. Although they do not know when the manager will retire, they have sounded out a potential replacement and have someone else in mind as well. The names have been mentioned before by one of the regular posters - and I really don't want to raise this matter again at this time. The original point was around Liverpool rather than Manchester United.}

Ed apperently pep guardiola hasnt ruled out a move to manage an england club

'It is not something I have planned yet but because of the nature of this job, I know I will not be here forever or even for many years.

'I don't rule it out but neither is it something I am planning at the moment.'

I will not be here for many years? sounds like like next season or the season after that he could make a move , hes done it all at barca , perhaps he wants a new challenge.

hes been linked with manks but surely mourinho is ment to be there man after the scottish chap retires , arsenal will prob never get rid of wenger no matter how much he fails to win a trophy , and carlo anchelloti said that he wants to stay at chelsea for years n years , so that would leave us with a chance maybe? i know its wishfull thinking but it would be sooo good to get him. what hes achieved and hes still such a young manager could build liverpool up to the top again.

. But a loan deal could happen to Ipswich with Conor Wickham moving on the otherside in January.
I'm hesitant to say that all of these deals will happen, but I've been told it's more than likely with the majority of transfers coming in the summer, watch this space!

To summarise. .
*Keisuke Honda
*Steven Taylor
*Conor Wickham coming in.

not a hope in hell regarding connor wickham, by all accounts hes off to the spuds, £5 million plus jake livermore so im told from a guy who is nearly always right, plus the rumblings down here are that its pretty much a well on deal! so sorry to disappoint!

redken"

Not exactly "by all accounts" then is it? We repeatedly heard the same line before Cole signed from a poster quoting some bloke from Spurs Odyssey who was apparently never wrong. The Livermore plus cash rumour is only being peddled by Spurs fans, no other sources have mentioned a peep so i'd say there was a fair bit of wrangling to go before Wickham ends up anywhere.

Hi ed. do you know if theres any chance of us getting Stephane Sessegnon? just read were in for him. is that true? i know comolli rates him, as do i. he could be the joe cole we never got. only better {ed's note - I don't see that happening, I just don't see how he is what we need right now.}

So, it is looking increasingly likely that Honda will be a Liverpool player before too long which is good news, technically gifted and good footballing brain that lad. Much better than some of the mediocre players we are getting linked with i.e cole, bentley, nzogbia etc, I feel we should make a real push for Eden Hazard, this kid will be one of the world greats at some point, he clearly has respect for our greatness and so surely with the right package and a feeling of being wanted by the club, and no doubt, adored by the most passionate fans in the world this would be enough to lure him away from the talons of Wenger.

What wih the amount of speclation I would expect Keisuke Honda to be a Liverpool player next month, but for me this is the only deal we fans know about. We've got to do a lot of digging to find players we're likely to sign and for me we need a new LM (We literally do not have one) an new LB (but we won't because RH likes Konchesky) a new CD (Skrtel is toss) a new GK (Jones isn't good enough, even for a backup and the youth aren't good either) and finally a ST. Now we won't be getting a new LB as I said, and a new CD is off limits unless Agger is sold as RH rates Skrtel. Also a new GK is heavily unlikely as Jones fills the English quota, although I'd rather see Joe Lewis in goal (Peterborough GK, 23 yrs old and tipped for England glory a couple of seasons ago). So let's look at the likely moves.
ST is the easiest place to start and I personally think Adebayor will be high on the wanted list. Not only is he a good player but would boost our African connection as a fanbase and commercially. However, there are strong rumours of Luis Suarez who, despite his tempermant is a quality player.
LM I'd like to see Juan Mata sign, but the question is will RH or Comolli bring him up? I think our targets may include Mata, or more likely that I hope for it, but Eljero Elia will be in there too. He's young, fast and a winger, so he's Babel but he'll be playing in the right position.
Out of the club will not see Jovanovic or Poulsen. The likelyhood of it is Agger will go, possibly Johnson if a £20m bid is to come in and Dirk Kuyt if the moneys right. Everyone should stop being so harsh on Jova, he's being played out of position at LM and we've all seen his quality up front.

If only we had bought Parker when he left Newcastle for West Ham. He was just about the right age then. He probably the wrong side of 30 now to have any financial gain as he probably will cost Spurs most probably £10m +. No sell on value therefore.

We should have bought Parker before he went to Chelsea who ruined him.

Liverpool should go all out for Scott Parker!
I know the spuds are after him, but he is a fantastic player. I would make him my number one on the list!
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

We do not need another CM. Priority is wingers and a striker. Parker is 30 years old and the Hammers would want a massive fee for him, not good bussiness.
I personallly would like to see us sign Honda (possability), Sanchez (unlikely) and either Llorente (unsure one way or the other) or Toivanan (possability).

"They are just not going to buy players for the sake of buying them"

Totally agree ed , the papers are coming out with all sorts of random names that we could buy , like bentley , sturridge , elmander , c.cole , kranjcar which to me are all buys that you would only buy for the sake of it , there just cheap squad players , these are not the sort of players we should be looking at they seem like roy hodgsons targets rather than comollis.

Time to strap in! It's going to be busy in Jan, the outs are Jova, Agger, Ngog, Poulsen. In will be Honda, A Johnson, R Dunne and Santa Cruz. Watch this space this will happen! !
Also Torres going nowhere! !one or two problems with this, agger is our best centre back and better than dunne, and whether roy rates him or not, the next manager will, and i can't see that transfer getting the green light. ngog is fast improving game after game, and is, or will be paid alot less than santa cruz. so that is a no go! and if history is anything to go by, any player from mancity will not be moving to any club in the prem in and around the top 8, why do you think bellamy is at cardiff and not spurs! mancity are not going to give away talent to any potential teams capable of finishing a bove them. end of story, forget adam johnson please.

According to a receptionist 4 players are set to leave that's all she could tell me i can give you the name and her email adress if you ask for it. However only email me because i am not posting that for everyone to see. Secondly she was pretty positive that we are looking at a larger amount of players this january in comparison to last seasons : this is because in the event of not qualifying for the champions league we would still have the quality in our side as players would have joined.
Finnally i asked about a transfer budget to glen johnson via twitter he direct messaged me and said " im not too sure mate but i doubt it, we have been told to prepare ourselves for a lot more competetion in the squad "
Thats all my reports and i was also told never to trust paper talk. Expect about 4 players in jan.

Hi Ed do you think if we did get Suarez and Honda in January there would be any further funds available for another quality player?

I'd say the above two would cost roughly a combined fee of 22 - 26 million. So maybe if we sold a couple of fringe players maybe have enough for another 10 - 15 million player. {ed's note - there is no actual limits on funds for the right players, if the right player became available they would be moved for. They are just not going to buy players for the sake of buying them.}

Liverpool should go all out for Scott Parker!
I know the spuds are after him, but he is a fantastic player. I would make him my number one on the list!

I'd be happy with Suarez Ajax and Honda CSKA in January window both talented and would improve the team no end. If possible maybe a cheeky bid for Sanchez Udinese or Hazard from Lille if any funds left.

What do you think Ed is the above a possibility?

{Editor's Note: I think Honda is a possbility, an outside chance of Suarez and no chance of the others.}

WhrTF has this sturridge rumour come from, he is shocking. no strength or pace, would be crap signing ngog is better in every way. when i saw "liverpool target chelsea ace" i was hoping for kalou or kakuta not sturridge. especially loan move, give their "ace" experience and add to our wage bill.what do you think editor?

me14 {ed's note - Sturridge and Kalou are both not good enough, neither will be loaned out anyway, they have no cover in their squad.}

I don't have many sources, but the lack of news on the Keisuke Honda scenario is only good news, apparently he will be moving in January for a fee between 6-12million.
Other transfers I'm fairly sure will happen is the 'quick money' transfer of Steven Taylor from Newcastle, English and a strong centre back to fill in for the gaps at the back.
Expect Dani Pacheco, Danny Wilson to go out on loan for the next part of the season, preferably to a Premier league team, either Wigan, West Ham or Blackpool.

Various youth players to get first team experiences in the second part of the season to go out.

Considering Peter Beardsley was probably the last British record transfer fee asociated with the club

Was it not Collymore?

Was it not Glen Johnson?
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
No. Rooney from Everton to Utd was alot more than £18m. He is possibly still the British Record transfer. {ed's note - are you being serious? Rio Ferdinand cost nearly double that when he joined United from Leeds.}

Quotes from eden hazard:
''I could have gone [to Chelsea] last June, but I was not ready to make that big leap, " he said. "Recently, the press have been writing about interest from Liverpool, and it is nice to hear your name being mentioned everywhere, especially with the best teams in the world.

"If I do leave at the end of the season, I don't want to go somewhere I will be on the bench, and it will be difficult to break through in a team like Real, where Ronaldo and Kaka will be my competitors.

"But there are teams like Arsenal, where youngsters can grow more easily into the first team and make their mark.

"I will not leave for another French club because, with 100 matches under my belt for Lille, I don't think I have to prove my qualities for a team in the same league."

Seems like he prefers Arsenal but would Arsene really splash 15m on an area that's already strong,
and madrid and chelsea seem ruled out, so we might have a chance as he did mention us positivly
