Biglia, have lfc any intrest in the player past or present?. He's available but not a player I know much about, what your thoughts on the guy?
Regnid. {Ed002's Note - See earlier answers.}

Italy bound. I'm actually surprised he didn't move last season... But there ya go. expect Genoa to pursue interest, but he may move somewhere bigger.

Ya could at least look interested ed002. Sorry dude i got great respect put that kinda answer just psz me off. I'd easily trade your job for mine but if i dealt with "the customer" like that I'd find myself on the dole queue. Just sayin.

JONSTER {Ed002's Note - I give my time for nothing, had answered the same question already and sure as hell don't see you as "the customer". If I keep repeating answers I get some of the posters whining at me. If I refer posters to the search function, other people whine about it. If I refer a poster to an earlier answer you whine about it. Perhaps if the poster bothered to read the posts or used the search function it could have saved both me and him time, and you from bitching at me.}

20 Dec 2012 01:41:47
None of the previous answers said anything about lfc intrest past present or not at all. Hence the question.
Regnid. {Ed002's Note - I listed the interested clubs - I would have hoped you would be able to understand that if Liverpool is not listed then there is no known interest.}

Ed002 times reporting that gamiero has been lined up as alternative to sturridge as that deal may fall through? have u heard anything {Ed002's Note - No.}

Guardian reporting this too. Sounds like the work of an agent, if you read the story.

BVB Dortmund is interested in Gameiro {Ed002's Note - It is very much speculation aright now.}

19 Dec 2012 21:46:35
Hey Eds, its been reported that a fee has been agreed for Pato, of AC Milan.
Any idea who it could be? {Ed002's Note - Corinthians have offered Milan 15M euros and options on youth players Bubba and Edilson. PSG's interest has likely gone and a further injury might hasten his exit back to his homeland.}

Wait- there's a player who goes by the name of 'bubba'?

19 Dec 2012 21:28:43
Any chance of jelle vossen eds?{Ed002's Note - He could move next summer but Liverpool have not, to my knowledge, shown any interest in Vossen.}

Metro reporting that Huntelaar is going to sign a new deal with Schalke. That puts an end to that then. Thank God.

TSP

The only time something is put to an end is when it is done!

I will have to start reading the Metro if its that reliable, thanks for the info lad.

I'll be honest, the Metro is pretty rubbish. For everything.

But they rarely get non-signings wrong, from memory.

TSP

Puzzled by the " Thank God " statement.
Of course what on earth would Liverpool want with a proven goalscorer at the highest level.

John B

A rumour in the metro has and will never put anything to bed.

Point being, the endless speculation of something that was never likely to happen was getting on my nerves. Therefore, this news appearing to put an end to it is a cause to say 'Thank God'.

Hey ed002! I just read that Quaresmas contract has been terminated! Do you reckon he would be viable option for us? Do you know if we're interested? Cheers, Scouserseb {Ed002's Note - Quaresma has struggled somewhat since leaving Porto where much was expected of him when he was younger. Since leaving Porto he has been much lower profile and has had a number of clubs but not really settled. As he has had his contract with Besiktas cancelled he is a free agent and will probably be heading back to the Iberian peninsula - possibly with Porto.}

Okey, cheers mate:) Scouserseb

Ive just heard Daniel Sturridge wants a move to Spurs not Liverpool. Wouldn't surprise me tbh. U know of any Spurs interest in the player Eds ? {Ed002's Note - I don't.}

19 Dec 2012 21:11:31
Hope so let him go there insted not worth the transfer fee touted about!

Spurs are not interested

You heard wrong.

Just somebody taking the piss over the Dempsey & Sigurdsson transfers.

19 Dec 2012 19:59:30
Hello Eds. Thanks for a consistantly great job on the site.

Just asking apart from the increasingly likely signings of Ince and Sturridge, do you see Liverpool purchasing any more players? Even with those two acquisitions the squad will still be a bit thin and an out and out goal-poacher is surely being looked at?

Thanks very much
RegLFC {Ed002's Note - I understand there remains interest in taking Jeffren on loan as well.}

I do not know why liverpool are constantly linked with Jeffren?

He is no where near the level we need. He has no physical attributes and he has not been consistant for the last 4 years. Another waste of money for me.

Jay {Ed002's Note - The reason for the link is that Liverpool made an approach to Sporting Lisbon to take him on loan.}

19 Dec 2012 19:32:47
Ed, is it true that lfc are close too signing ince or sturridge? {Ed002's Note - Please read the posts.}

19 Dec 2012 19:28:23
hi eds i know you and everyone is going to call me insane but do you no of any chance of getting ronaldinho on loan in January? is he available? {Ed002's Note - Ronaldinho will not be moving to Liverpool in January.}

You're insane!

Biglia has been told he can leave if Anderlecht are offerd 8.25mil in Jan.
Statement made by his manager, source: /givemefootball/calciomercato websites.
Dinger. {Ed002's Note - Fiorentina, Lazio and Arsenal have enquired after Biglia. Anderlecht rejected an approach from Parma last season but I suspect he could well move this winter with Wolfsburg looking very keen indeed, but there may well be interest from other Italian clubs. He has, on a number of occasions, expressed an interest in playing in Spain but previous interest from Real Madrid seems to have waned.}

19 Dec 2012 18:57:15
hey eds
any interest in Gamerio? heard everton are after him
The brown man {Ed002's Note - There has been long term interest in Gameiro from Lille and both Everton and Kuban Krasnodar are showing interest in the player.}

Bro kevin is playing in psg. {Ed002's Note - Try reading it again slowly.}

19 Dec 2012 18:24:13
With what looks like sturridge on his way and ince also do u think any interest in theo will be dropped ed?
Do u see the need for jefferen on a short term loan or will there be an option to buy that ur aware of?

Matt28 {Ed002's Note - I am not as convinced as others about the level of interest in Walcott. From my perspective I still think that a new deal could be agreed at Arsenal and a new contract signed by Walcott. However, in January, if no deal has been agreed he will be able to talk with the likes of Juventus who have apparently shown tentative interest. There remains the thought that Liverpool or Chelsea would be interested in taking him, although they cannot speak to him without the club agreeing before the end of the season. Arsenal can easily stonewall a move in January so I don't know if Walcott will even be available for a move then - nor what other options he would have if he were. Deciding to leave Arsenal may not enhance his career, particularly if he wants to stay in England.

Liverpool has made an enquiry about taking Jeffren Suarez on loan in January. During the summer window Liverpool, Sevilla and Napoli all showed an interest in a loan for Jeffren after his first season at Sporting Lisbon was impacted by injury. Despite rejecting loan moves in the summer he has now fallen out of favour in Lisbon following some poor performances meaning a loan might be now feasible in January. However, given (a) he is not playing well, (b) Barcelona retain and option on him, and (c) he has a ridiculously high release clause in his contract, it would be near impossible to sell him on the Iberian peninsula and it may be tough to sell him elsewhere right now. If there is an option to buy it would mean Barca dropping their option.}

Ed, I'm hearing he wants to stay, wenger wants to keep him! Just a slight problem with wages but that will be overcome the main hold up is where he wants to play!

19 Dec 2012 18:17:23
Is there any interest still in llorente? Great site btw {Ed002's Note - Fernando Llorente is still interesting a number of clubs. Chelsea, and I suspect Manchester City, have dropped their interest and I would think that other clubs could be scared off by the size of the transfer fee still being asked by Athletic Bilbao. There is a very good chance that he will move next year and there has been plenty of discussion with Juventus over a January move althgough it looks, at this time, like it will come to nothing. Interest from Arsenal, Spurs and now Atletico Madrid and Barcelona has been ramping up. It is likely that he will end up at one of these clubs but at a much lesser fee if he moves in January. His alternatives will be to sign a new contract, sign a pre-contract in January for a summer move or to let his contract run down and go for a good sized signing on fee.}

19 Dec 2012 18:12:24
eds its now being reported on the voice which is a website im guessing that talks between sturridge and liverpool have broken down because of sturridge wanting too consider options do u know anything. thanks {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of it, sorry.}

Well lets hope we go all out on Walcott then....

Probably more media duff, but we can live in hope.
Looks too big an ego for our club in my humble opinion

No major drama if he doesn't come. I'm sure we could spend the same money abroad and get a much better striker

19 Dec 2012 17:35:40
Hi eds! Any rumour concerning to bringing back Paolo Guerrero to Europe? What have happened with Lizandro Lopez and lucas Biglia red's interest?

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing on Guerrero.

Lyon's Lisandro Lopez continues to attract interest from Juventus and AC Milan, but at present Fiorentina and Valencia remain the most likely to push for a deal in January.

Fiorentina, Lazio and Arsenal have enquired after Biglia. Anderlecht rejected an approach from Parma last season but I suspect he could well move this winter with Wolfsburg looking very keen indeed, but there may well be interest from other Italian clubs. He has, on a number of occasions, expressed an interest in playing in Spain but previous interest from Real Madrid seems to have waned.}

19 Dec 2012 17:16:19
Hey Eds, any interest in Charlie Austin ? Young English natural goal scorer. Has he been watched by pool or even on their radar? Otherwise do you know who may be interested in him & roughly how much Burnley would want?
Thanks so much,
Love the site
RedKev {Ed002's Note - Burnley's Charlie Austin is being considered by Everton, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Celtic.}

If newcastle are watching him, i say lets try and sign him! there scouts are much better than ours!

I remember mentioning him a long while back. Wonderful prospect he was back then, he's also grown into a very good striker. Still a great prospect!

Red7.

Saw him at Swindon, hes a good finisher strong and has good pace, only down side hes got a huge ego, liverpool will be too big for him

19 Dec 2012 16:58:19
Any interest in Nene. According to the bbc he has asked for his contract to be made null. He has fallen out with club officials and has been left out the PSG squad for the last three games. {Ed002's Note - Not from Liverpool.}

Lucky lucky man, you are.
I though i read "Nani" at first... Don't scare a man like that!

19 Dec 2012 16:31:41
Is the Sturrridge deal completed? I am not pleased if it is...
EPIC RED TIME {Ed002's Note - It cannot be completed until January.}

8 goals in 12 apps for Bolton in EPL 2011. Sorry, were you after something different?

Who cares if you're pleased or not EPIC RED TIME?

Stop whinning and get behind the manager and the new boys

Who cares if you're pleased or not EPIC RED TIME?

26 goals in 96 appearances in a 6 year senior career. Hardly prolific.

26 in 96 poster you left out a key piece of information the fact that he is 23. So according to your statement he began his senior career at 17. 1 in 4 is pretty good for a kid.
Andrew

That's false. A deal can be completed before January ... It's just that the player can't be registered with the premier league until January. Fees, wages, etc can all be agreed and signed before January. {Ed002's Note - You must be some sort of half-wit. It will be completed when the transfer is registered.}

Why not pleased?
If he is played in his favoured CF position, he's a wonderful player!

19 Dec 2012 16:26:51
any interest in de jong of ajax ?

dannybhoy {Ed002's Note - No.}

He reminds me very much of Tim Cahill. Great player, but where do you play him? He's of no fixed address... Attacking mid? Can rush into the box and score goals, but doesn't add much in the passing and chance creation department.
Centre forward? Not nearly as effective when stationary, better when coming from deep. When he drops back, he adds very little.
Just a very complicated player... Great for the dying moments as a substitute because he's the luckiest player i've seen since Tim Cahill as in "right place, right time". But an expensive sub at that.

Red7.

19 Dec 2012 16:18:18
The bbc are saying that the.sturidge deal is done and dusted. Bit he is currently out with a ham string injury. Eds is he injured. Abduction if yes why the hill are we paying 12m of a player who can't play.
We need some one to come in and hit the ground.running.
Marker {Ed002's Note - He has been injured and is now just about back to full fitness.}

Like he did at Bolton you mean?

Downing on the verge of a move to Sunderland in January. Fee will be in and around 7-8 million pound.

Why? when they have adam johnson!

19 Dec 2012 16:53:55
Lets hope he's right anyway

Just wishful thinking but we can all dream

19 Dec 2012 16:53:55
Lets hope he's right anyway

They can have him for free

Cant we offer Downing and say 5-7M and ask for Colback or McClean in return??. Maybe even Mignolet to act as competition for Reina...

Johnson is best utilised cutting in from the right,downing would play on the left. O'neill loves downing,and ashley young. Reported this about 3 weeks ago.
Best friend is Steve Walfords son.

19 Dec 2012 16:07:19
Any truth to the Nathan Redmond rumour Eds? Heard today he and Ince are coming in but won't affect Brendan Rodgers budget. {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of it.}

He is very similar to sterling

19 Dec 2012 15:31:08
Hi eds, great site!! Is there still any possibility of getting Huntelaar? Cheers, JC {Ed002's Note - I really don't see Huntelaar being interest in a move to Liverpool.}

No i don't think so, now that sturridge will be joining so it's unlikely!

I think he has just signed a new contract
LeeWils

He is signing a new contract this week.

Steve Nicol has slammed Liverpool's decision to target Daniel Sturridge in the January transfer window “ claiming the club need a proven goalscorer instead of just potential.

The Chelsea star looks set to be one of Brendan Rodgers' first signings in the New Year, along with Blackpool's Tom Ince, as the Reds look to improve their fortunes in front of goal.

But former Anfield favourite Nicol claims the Merseyside club should be looking to the Bunesliga, like some of their Premier League rivals, in their pursuit of top-quality hitmen.

Daniel Sturridge and Tom Ince are good players but they're not proven quality,ť he told the Sports Bar.

Sturridge can't get into the Chelsea team, so why do Liverpool think he's going to come here and set the place alight?

Ince is the same, he's a good player but he's not proven at this level. They're also both not goalscorers.ť

Arsenal have targeted Schalke star Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, while Borussia Dortmund's Robert Lewandowski has been linked to Manchester United, and Nicol added that is the calibre of striker Liverpool should be going for.

I'd be happy if Liverpool were being linked with Lewandowski,ť he continued. He's got just over a year left on his contract and Borussia Dortmund would let him go.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is another one [they should target]. He's a proven goalscorer. They need to get a couple of guys who they know can get the ball in the back of the net. That will take the pressure off everybody.ť

{Ed002's Note - Maybe Nicol will sell Sturridge in the sumemr?}

19 Dec 2012 15:48:24
Steve Nicol can b*******. I don't see him expressing s desire to work at the club. Another ex player spouting his mouth off.

If we bought Huntelaar he would be flop at Liverpool because all the moaners would make him loose confidense and turn into Joe Cole and we would spend the next 3 years trying to get rid of him because his wages are sky high. We would then let him go and pay half of his wages. I am happy with Sturridge as he is proven premiership player. Thoughts please?

Steve068

The two times Huntelaar made his big moves he flopped there's no saying just because he's done well in the German league for a few years he wouldn't go to how he was in la liga or the serie a once he moves, although I still believe he would be better than Sturridge

19 Dec 2012 16:59:02
Sturridge is prob the best we can hope for, I think he's ok, did well at bolton in the past even if not been playin regular for chelsea recently

Apologies to Steve nichol great player & so so manager if or when we sign Sturridge I will be supporting & encouraging him,once again apologies to Steve nichol,jim beglin,mark lawrenson & Jamie redknapp if this causes offence...
Paisley's genius

Sturridge is prob the best we can hope for, I think he's ok, did well at bolton in the past even if not been playin regular for chelsea recently

Too much money has been wasted too many times.

I personally think Sturridge will prove to be an excellent buy.

How do we know that there will not be further forwards signed beside Sturridge and Ince.

best to wait until the end of the transfer window before people start voicing there opinions of the right or wrongs of any signings until after they have been done.

Red Rich

Steve Nicol should check his facts before speaking. Huntelar has signed or about to sign a news contract at Schalke.
Also, having seen him in action on The Bundesliga show, he won't be missed.

Its about improving squad if sturridge scores 8 goals this season its more than any one apart from suarez is scoring

Rafa almost bought Stephan Keissling a few years back, he's killing it at the moment. but it took a while...

19 Dec 2012 14:04:40
hi eds, who in your opinion will liverpool sign in january ? SA RED {Ed002's Note - I have said where the strong interest is - Ince, Sturridge and a loan of perhaps Jeffren.}

Shocking!! no ambition at all

19 Dec 2012 13:05:20
Eds, a mate of mine works in the finance department at Anfield and swears blind that he has seen two separate documents with J.Martinez linked with a move to us. Any truth in this? I personally think that he isn't good enough for us. {Ed002's Note - Is this the Javi Martinez who moved to Bayern Munich in the summer or Jackson Martinez of Porto? Neither will be moving to Liverpool in January - and I rather think your "mate" is teasing you.}

You sure you haven't just seen Phil Thompson talking about that very same player on LFC TV?

Hmmm...

DaveyBootle

Never knew why Liverpool didn't push for Jackson Martinez in the Summer. I know we had him watched but we should have gone all out for him. I really wonder about our transfer department sometimes considering Borini cost more then Martinez.

Maybe it's both I there are two bits of paper!!!

As for your "he isn't good enough for us" comment. I sincerely hope you don't mean Javi Martinez?

19 Dec 2012 12:56:49
Hi,eds, how serious r the rumours bout letting reina go, personally I think its about time now, been a gr8 player for us but wud cash in on him now, what r the replacements if true, id like 2c either adler or steklenburg wot r chances with them, also what's the latest on kelly, do u think he will sign a new long term contract? Players I would love 2c liverpool linked wiv r pato instead of sturridge, kjaer, danny rose, ben arfa, c.eriksen, walcott, diame wot do u think of these players,none are far fetched and think could happen if were interested. Also outs downing,enrique,henderson,+ the sale of AC. Plus was this article true (mail) tht KK n camolli were offered gotze but turned down as henderson was priority.gr8 site keep up the good work {Ed002's Note - I know of no plans to sell Reina in January. Adler only moved in the summer and will not be moving to Liverpool in January. Stekelenburg might be available but Liverpool has shown no interest. You can check the search function regarding the list of players you would like at Liverpool - I think all have been dealt with.}

You'd let go our 30 year old goalkeeper and replace him with a man 1 month younger in Stekelenburg? What would be the point? Not to mention roma would want to recoup probably double what they paid for him

If and when Reina goes we should look at Ter Stegen and NOT Butland. Please no more "potential" buys for the future. Our problem is right now!

Also, the Corinthians keeper looks useful. Only 25 but looks 40!

Why do people slag off Butland??. The Lad aint that bad at all, he is very similar to Joe Hart in that he is commanding and reflexes are sharp...

Your post is really annoying. Wot makes you sound thick and diminishes your point. We weren't offered Goetze and the players you mentioned are either not good enough or are interested in bigger clubs. Just type normally, it'll make everything easier.

19 Dec 2012 12:13:43
Hi Ed's and Fellow Red's, just a quick question? Is there any moves for players into academy? Because the last few years we have targeted playersa like texeria (lisbon) yesil (bayer leverkusen) Ibe (wycombe) oyo (M.K.Dons) and the young kid from crewe who's name escapes me, I reckon this system of buying young prospects will bring great rewards and is the way forward, so any names that we are linked with ed's? Are we interested in will highes (derby)? Thanks ed's + red's! Hope ya's all av a cracking xmas and a mad new year

ed002 is it true liverpool are trying to get wallcot
thanks keato {Ed002's Note - I appreciate that Macca said that there was interest in the Summer but I am not as convinced as everyone else that it remains now. From my perspective I still think that a new deal could be agreed at Arsenal and a new contract signed by Walcott. However, in January, if no deal has been agreed he will be able to talk with the likes of Juventus who have apparently shown tentative interest. There remains the thought that Liverpool or Chelsea would be interested in taking him, although they cannot speak to him without the club agreeing before the end of the season. Arsenal can easily stonewall a move in January so I don't know if Walcott will even be available for a move then - nor what other options he would have if he were. Deciding to leave Arsenal may not enhance his career, particularly if he wants to stay in England.}

19 Dec 2012 11:39:12
Eds,
Can i say deal for Sturridge n Ince Pretty much done? a lot of trusted source reported the news.

Is it possible to get Arda Turan this January? We desperately need creative mid. Gerrard cannott always play & not all time effective this season.

If Downing leaving, do we expect to sign leftback to cover for Enrique? J.M.Vargas can be sign for free this Jan? If yes, hope we can get him. He can play both LB n LW..

Your opinion Eds?

thanx much. Josemi LFC. {Ed002's Note - (1) You can say that but from my perspective they remain the promary targets but nothing is complete. (2) Arda Turan will not move in JAnuary. (3) Vargas could sign a pre contract in January but cannot move for "free" until the summer.}

19 Dec 2012 11:34:47
Eds i no Rodgers would like to bring in someone on loan, with Jeffren a possible target. do you no any other targets we are looking at. and from what you no is the forward positions the only area we will strengthen in Jan?
Thanks
Pops {Ed002's Note - We are not keeping anything from you. I have explained where the interest is as far as I know - Sturridge, Ince and Jeffren.}

19 Dec 2012 11:26:44
Eds do you know anything about Sturridge agreeing a 5yr deal with wages of £60,000 a week and Ince agreeing a 5yr deal with wages of £25,000 a week?

BigD {Ed002's Note - Twitter is this? I have said for a long time that these are Liverpool's primary targets but as far as I know there is no finalisation of either transaction.}

Eds esp no 2 do you never feel like telling people who constantly ask the same question over and over to do one?
Also can I ask which set of fans are the worst for this?

Regards

Lurgan Red {Ed002's Note - The Liverpool fans are worst, followed by teh Chelsea fans.}

19 Dec 2012 11:22:35
Hi Eds.
Hope u hav a good day.
Nw it seems sturridge and ince deals looks almost done. Which other areas do u expect lfc to improve. I hope lfc should sign a complete striker like hunteelar or gomis. Any chance ed.
Thanx.
Plz do reply. Ur response will b much appreciated. {Ed002's Note - If Sturridge and Ince arrive the chances of Huntelaar and Gomis are slim at best.}

Is Huntelaar looking for big wages ed002?
100k been quoted in the press today. I know that may be just a convenient figure but he's not worth that kind of money imo. Liverpool are better off without.
The Juicer {Ed002's Note - I would really want to avoid discussing wages but Huntelaar would certainly have high expectations.}

19 Dec 2012 11:10:32
eds
any interest in nene, pastore or menez?
Bhav {Ed002's Note - Not from LIverpool.}

Do you rate any of the trio?

Any pl clubs interested in them?
Bhav {Ed002's Note - I would rather avoid "rating" players. If they became available there would be interest from clubs, but there is nothing right now.}

19 Dec 2012 08:35:17
Hey eds, could you please clarify the situation of these players
1) mbokani (anderlecht)
2) gomis (lyon)
3) arnovautic (werder bremen)
4) loic remy (marseille)
thanks a heap, and happy holidays
RedDownUnder {Ed002's Note - (1) Fulham, Everton, Newcastle and Genoa were interested in Dieumerci Mbokani during the summer but Anderlecht were not keen on selling. There has been recent interest from CSKA and from Fiorentina but a January move seems unlikely - next summer perhaps he could move. Rumours of interest from Juventus are wide of the mark. (2) Bafetimbi Gomis scored three goals in a game a few weeks ago when we understand Liverpool had scouts at the game - but it was supposition that they were there to see any particular player. Chelsea had someone attend last weekend's game to look specifically at Gomis. I don't know if any bids have been made but Lyon are seeking to raise some funds. (3) There is nothing particularly of note to say about Arnautovic. (4) Chelsea, Spurs, Newcastle, Everton and Lille have shown varying degrees of interest in Loic Remy but there have been no approaches to Marseille regarding Remy from Liverpool or QPR who appear to be the latest club linked with the player. There was discussion with Chelsea about Remy during the negotiations over Azpilicueta but it came to nothing. Remy would perhaps be interested in a move to England but his recent form has been poor and Marseille know it will be difficult to get a good price for the player. Newcastle will likely make a low offer for Remy in January and might face opposition from Everton who made a recent approach to Marseille about his availability. As far as Marseille are concerned, they have started looking for a replacement.}

19 Dec 2012 11:55:31
sterling is set to sign a new 5 year contract just after new year with pay rises every year

19 Dec 2012 11:29:23
It's just idea but has there been any talk about recalling Carroll early for the start of the new year?

FowlerGod.

Why?

He has scored one goal and is out injured until at least the end of Jan.

I knew this post was not gonna get much agreement but if we are lacking in strikers and sturidge is looking like the only viable option and in the last game especially, we dominated crosses all the match and got nothing from them.
Personally i still quite like Carroll, he isn't gonna cost us anything and he can bring something a little more when were in the box.
I understand why people wouldn't agree with this but it's an option?! and only an idea.

I expect 2 more signings on top of Sturridge and Ince in January

Jeffren is not a lfc target.

Apples ;96;

It would nice if we get

Sturridge
Ince
Honda
Huntelaar

but unfortunately im realistic and think we will get Sturridge, Ince and perhaps a loan signing but i don't think it will be Jeffren

First Charlie Adam and now Ince. Yes he is ok but he is overhyped and even though I am a Blackpool fan I am not worried to see him go. My guess is managers are looking at the highlights reel and not the whole game. He is not Premier League level and never will be. Matt Phillips is another Donkey being fattened up for the kill

Have u evan watch ince u clown id much rather have ince 13 goals this seasonfair be it its in the championship but near every game hes a menance

Blackpool fans alway see Donkeys.

The paper says that the two clubs have agreed a fee of £12 million for the 23-year-old, and the deal is at such an advanced stage that Sturridge was due to travel to Merseyside today for a medical but that has been postponed due to a small hitch with the player's representatives.

Sturridge has long been linked with Liverpool but it now sees that everything is in place for him to come straight into the squad when the transfer window opens.

The Times says it is a similar story with their other most cited target Thomas Ince from Blackpool who will join for £6 million just 18 months after Blackpool bought him off the Reds for £250,000.

In a nice twist for Liverpool though, they put in a 35 per cent sell-on clause when they sold Ince, which means that the transfer fee will actually only cost them £4m.

Ince has agreed a contract work £25,000-a-week and has also rejected counter offers from Newcastle and Tottenham.

It seems like he is already spending his new wage too with pictures in the Daily Mail of him with a brand new Porsche.

What a load of rubbish. We didnt sell him, we let him go on a free and blackpool paid about 50k in compensation. There is no clause, no transfer fee, nothing. Just compensation. I find it ridculous how many people on here make it up.

We didn't put a sell on clause in the deal as we didn't sell him, his contract was up and he moved on a free, we received compensation because of his age and time in our youth team

19 Dec 2012 12:46:18
Tom Ince ran down his contract because we wouldn't be held to ransom by his father.

He left on a free transfer to Blackpool who paid Ł57,000 in compensation.

We did not have the ability to put the clause in, because he wasn't sold.

Hit my sign off name into the search bar, I posted a pretty detailed explanation last week, and Ed002 confirmed it as correct.

YNWA! (Adam)

Spurs were not interested in ince!

Hi fellow Reds, Reports suggest that v has almost completed a deal for sturridge(12m) and thomas ince(4m). Source: ESPN. Walcott is unlikely to arrive, cos i think he'll sign a new deal wit Arsenal. Sterling wil be signing a new contract soon. I think one more player wil come in on loan. No other major transfers as Rodgers said. Thank u eds.

Thanks, but I can read papers and the net too.

Rodgers is set to use his friendship with JM to land,Álvaro Morata on loan with option to buy in the summer,as JM & Real Madrid WILL movehell and high water for Radamel Falcao García.JM wants this deal to help build bridges between him and the RM fans,before he goes!

Think spurs may have something to say about that? I do believe they get first offer on madrid player's? They probably don't want the player anyhow!

A marquee player moving from athletic madrid to real madrid ?
Don't really remember the last time it happened

Surely Mourinho would want Falcao at any club he moves too, not for the club he is leaving.

Sahin is already on loan with us. I think we can't loan 2 players from the same club.

"Liverpool have all but finalised the £12 million purchase of Daniel Sturridge, ESPN understands."

From what i see on the web , it seems like liverpool move very fast on their targets.

In the old days of parry we wouldnt move at all thats why we lost out on ronaldo united stepped in and bang the rest is history

19 Dec 2012 12:07:16
makes a nice change!

Liverpool just don't do fast transfers. They drag their heels until the target looks elsewhere or another team jumps in!

Hearing at office Raheem is being "rested" because he won't sign a new contract because he wants more cash and rodgers won't play him till he signs, any truth behide this and that he may be swapped with part cash for wallcot? Any truth behide this ed

Absolute garbage!! he is 17 just turned 18 and played 20 odd games, he needs to be rested from time to time, like fergie used to do with a young Giggs, anyone reading anything else into this is just trying to stir trouble that is simply not there, Sterling will sign soon !!

Maybe he'll be rester so he doesn't become run down, has played nearly every game.

Or maybe its because he is 18 and still growing, too much first team action could cause his body harm later on in his career
huddz red

Great! So you think our manager is trying to drive Sterling out. This takes conspiracy theories to a whole, new level.

He needs a rest. He has not looked sharp and looked lethargic in last 2-3 games.

Thomas

Rested!! Dont know about anyone else but I coud more than manage a 1 1/2 hour football match once a week, in fact I think I could of done it twice a week. These players today our true athletes, they train everyday and someone like Sterling has been doing it since he was 13yrs old. Hate teh term rested, these guys pour athletes and should be more than capable of playing a game of football a week. Rant over

Sterling clearly needs a rest, too much top level football at a young age is not good for the lads body, to suggest otherwise is either stirring up trouble or just ignorance of physiology. You don't have to look too far for examples of players suffering later in their career because, in part at least, The club relied on them too much when their bodies were still growing. I'm thinking of Fowler and Owen btw.
Love and trophies
Smudger

I think the guy venting his spleen should remember, there is a lot of trainingTravel as well as the games added on top of that is the mental stresses that can come with high pressure games and playing under the microscope, not to mention international games where they travel all over the place., non of which is involved in playing football as a kid in the park, Young players need to be removed from all of this now and then as their bodies are still growing and the risk of damaging their growth is high during this stage of their career. we are talking about highly tuned athletes here, slightest tweak can cause a lot of damage long term,

Paul doesnt want Tom to come back to us, so ince deal isn't as done as everyone is making out Sturridge is keen on a move to us chelsea want rid so if all goes to plan he will be a Liverpool player by the end of the transfer window don't hold your breath on hunterlaar but we would be open for a move to us if he showed an interest and if Walcott fails to agree the expect a little bid to test arsenal - rushy and Stevie in the Hilton on Thursday at stevies charity event-

Downing and Cole are available for transfer. Any other players do you know of that are allowed to leave in January Eds? {Ed001's Note - Pacheco.}

I think its shocking that we are allowing Dani Pacheco to leave as he should be playing in the 1st team as we only have Suarez as a recognized striker, and Pacheco can play across the front 3 and is technically better than Morgan, Yesil & Ngoo, He has not had a fair chance in my view.

BigD

If downing left, we will be lack of cover for enrique, do u think rodgers will buy a left back, eds? or give a chance to robinson?

He's done nothing in any game I've seen him play in. Let him go, people waitin to long for him to come good.

I agree, he needs a chance to play.

Who is Rory smith? Says ince and sturridge done. Is he just some random?
Cupidstunt. {Ed001's Note - Telegraph reporter.}

He's with the Times now Ed mate {Ed001's Note - I didn't know that, I don't read newspapers, cheers for the update.}

Saw that rumour as well. I'm sure it's just jumping on the bandwagon as lots of different newspapers are saying the same thing, also twitter contributes a lot to these rumours. But I do believe they are our main targets and Tom ince is apparently almost done. Would strengthen our squad IMO.

I would of thought sturidge if it is going to happen brendon would have it wraped up now and just needs his name on the contract, but ince I'm not sure as a few clubs are interested in hom

Is he worth listening to ?

Is a reliable reporter eds ?

BigD {Ed001's Note - no idea sorry, I don't read newspapers, so I don't know what he says.}
