Eds is the Honda deal to Lazio done....i guess we will never get him now...appreciate your hard work eds {Ed002's Note - Thanks. I don't know if the deal has been completed.}

Hi ed, av heard ov apparnt intrest in hoarou, is there any truth in this?

Joeyk {Ed001's Note - we had interest in him last January, I have not heard of any interest since then.}

19 Jan 2012 22:47:11
Any truth in Suarez wanting to leave as I'm reading on other sites or are they just making it up to get extra readers!
Last I read was that he was looking forward to coming back and playing at anfield again {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware he is not looking to leave, despite the club's initial fears that he would.}

Suarez is a fighter. He will not show his back to Liverpool. He have a buy out deal with ajax but he never submit a transfer request. He don't want to leave Ajax without their Blessing.

Heard a rumour off a reliable source about the uruguayan texiera or however you spell his name is quite close to signing after liverpool opted to purchase instead of loan any insight into this rumour ED'S ?!

Cheers, all the best Sam {Ed001's Note - there is some work being put in there, I have no idea what is happening other than that though. I was under the impression it was a loan with an option to buy, but it wasn't 100% solid info. It has become a little difficult to follow due to the confusion over the two Teixeiras!}

Cheers Ed much appreciated :) {Ed001's Note - you are welcome mate, sorry I can't be definite, but info is difficult to come by these days.}

It could be that we are getting him to help suarez stay , plus he looks a decent player aswell ,

We all dream of a team of teixeiras

So brucie was right "a south american playing in holland" and if Macca is right then someone from inter

friends in spain have been telling me that liverpool are intrested in kaka on a 18month contract with view for a extra year. Psg are also looking at a deal.

Would love this to be true !! :)

Your friends need to give up the smoking crack...

I never understand these ones where people think by having friends in a country that theyd know something we dont or have inside info....

Dodge

No contact has been made with Real over Kaka, PSG have for sometime now this is true, also a team from one of the arab countrys and another in China. At this moment in time Kaka will not be leaving.

MarcaRed

I dont think kaka would be any good in our league , great footballer with time on the ball ,players dont get time on the ball in the prem though

Rubbish. Good enough players will always create the time they need on the ball, mate, even in epl. See Silva.

As has been posted by others (although not credited to where they got it from) Stephen Martin (via twitter account - seems to be a reliable source from what I've seen in the past) has communicated that the inter loan deal has broken down....as has a deal for another south american....believed to be teixeira....initially a loan deal which we are now looking at changing to a buy deal.

Seems Macca was right (ie. people will say he was wrong, but deals break down sometimes)....looking forward to his next update to clarify what happened to these deals to make them break down or if alternative deals are now in the works.

The above source also says we haven't been able to agree a fee for Sinclair and now Arsenal are in the frame for him also.

Eds - Any comments/info on the above prior to hearing from Macca?

Cheers
MD4

Credit to you for naming Stephen Martin as where info came from. Everyone else passed it off as there own.

Macca sometimes gets things wrong like we all do. LFC to sign no-one this month from Inter Milan or anywhere else

Look i will take stick at the end of the month if he doesn't sign..

All i know is that they are trying to sign him, lets wait and see..

I maybe wrong, , as i say things can change..

Cheers

who was it that said us lfc fans are very knowledgable about football?if they were to come on here they would laugh there t*ts off.all the doom mongerers and the xbox generation just dont understand football,you cant just sign a player because you want him for feksake.
a, he may not want to sign
b, he may be over priced
c, he may want to go elsewhere
d, he may not want to leave
e, he may want to keep his place in his national team
f, he may want ludicrous wages
Do you muppets honestly believe we go to a player "hello im from liverpool fc could you just sign here please".Do you not think we are actively seeking the players that KK and DC have earmarked.
Just be a true fan and give your support through good and bad times,We are lucky KK wanted the job who else could have done it?and before the fifa2012 brigade start the same applies to managers as for players see above.
Thank you i feel better for that,feel free to hammer me......
Niko YNWA

Feel free to praise you more like! I was just about to put a comment on myself with identical thoughts on what you've just said. Some proper mingmongs come on here who know feck all about our club and football. Just talk bulls**t and play fifa n pro evo all day and judge players,clubs etc by the ratings on them. Ballsacks!

Great post! About the best I have read on here.

Sisco

Well IMO Moussa Sow wanted to sign for Liverpool, he wasnt overpriced, he didnt want to go else where, he wanted to leave, he would be comming back from representing his country so he has his place in the team and his wages would have been reasonable.

So I dont see why we didnt get him considering he would have been perfect signing for us.

Well said lad

No hammer necessary, you're right.

You're so quick to jump on fans who want to see players come here BUT in actual fact you're the worse kind, the kind who tries to act intelligent to conceal your blated stupidness!

I'm not going to through the post and rip it apart as easy as it would be to do but id suggest u think s bit more before making a stupid post public

Ray

I am fairly certain that this rant is the biggest waste of time ever.

I agree with ever word you said someone that speaks sense iv just put a reply to a comment kenny will be trying to get the right players at the right price remember (carrol) learn by mistakes.

I couldn't agree more. Well said

Rob

Well said lad

Every word you said there is spot on. i'm sick of people slating our team and saying who we should and shouldn't get. just support our team. end of!!

To be fair, the whole bit about "We're LFC, here's a contract sign it" used to be true. Not any more which is a shame.

Well said Niko. Dan

Niko I agree with you on most things, but then again I need to remind myself it's a rumours site and I come on here just to get my hopes up and so I don't have to make conversation with my wife.

Somerset red

Showing your age there, Niko, good man.

Over the 40 odd years I've supported LFC, I've felt proud of the fact that our supporters are passionate about 'good' football. Opposing players were always applauded for good play. This is how it should be. We set high standards and have every right to be demanding AND critical of players who are privileged enough to play for LFC and earn wages beyond the dreams of the people who help pay them. Being a true red doesn't mean you are a sheep and follow in blind faith. I will not give my support to a player who doesn't show passion. At the moment it feels there are too many Liverpool players who don't care enough.

5/6 of your points are essentially the same thing he doesn't want to sign.

Most people are just suggesting the possibility of a player.. Yes it may be because they want that certain player.. But how are they suppose to know if they don't bring that players name to the attention of the eds

Get welliton he's wicked on FIFA :-)

Im with somerset red on that one ever tried speaking football to a women its funner speaking to a rock

Spot on mucker !

Could not agree more Niko

there are quality players that want to sign for us but unfortunality, kenny feels he does not need to add any surplus (or maybe he spent all his transfer funds) and this is not caughtoffiside or koptalk where you need to rant you legs offf.......Btw the no sign, and doesn't want to leave is the same thing...

You are an absolute legend. Couldn't have said it better myself. Some muppets are already calling for Kenny's head. He has a plan, let him get it done. It'll be worth the wait.

Who are the quality players who want to sign for us?
Good post by the way mate.
kiwi Red

Arise 'Sir Niko'... well done.

Chill mate, get a grip. It's a rumor site!! Tell us something we don't know.

He may not get a work permit.

A, they may not want to sign
b, they may not want to sign
c, they may not want to sign
d, they may not want to sign
e, they might be over priced

Its a rumour site so a few ppl come on and hope that we sign a certain player so they re muppets so you come on and have a rant so arent you a muppet as well ...i think so

19 Jan 2012 21:37:19
Ed, Who would you say is most looking most likely to sign at the minute, apart from the lad from Lisbon? Thanks! {Ed002's Note - I really don't know who is most likely.}

19 Jan 2012 21:30:22
hi eds, are Liverpool still interested in Luuk de Jong? {Ed001's Note - yes.}

Any chance in jan or are we still wanting to wait till summer? {Ed001's Note - more that he wants to wait than anything else.}

19 Jan 2012 21:52:23
Liverpool to bid for swansea midfielder britton, within the next week

Well he's English... and 29... that'll make him 15m then? 20m?

Asif mate ! why make such a stupid rumour !?

19 Jan 2012 21:29:35
DailyStar : Aaron Lennon near LFC . Kenny Daglish want him it can be posible because Tottenham give him a wage for 45.000 Pounds a week and LFC offerd him 55.000 Pounds a week .

If it's in the Star it must be true.What number have the club allocated him?

It's the daily star enough said

Woolnough's rag knows nothing. It's a step down from Kraptalk.

Lennon cant cross so itle b useless even talkin about him

If this would be remotely true (which there is more chance of gary neville coming out of retirement and signing for us) i am a liverpool fan and the way tottenham are playing at the moment is awesome so why would he leave?!

some things people come up with.. suppose it is a rumour site after all :-/

I believe Lennon is being offered a new contract at Spurs .

South american was Texeira. We tried to get him on loan but now looking to buy.

Macca, don't bothering trying to justify your info, there's no need.
If people can't see that deals fall through, minds get changed etc, then that's their problem.
Just ignore them, mate, they're not worth the time out of your life you wasted replying to them.

Ignore these pratts Macca.

90% of the users of this site appreciate your info and the work the ED's do.

K. Jones of stoke city is of interest to Everton for 5million pounds?? 5 million isnt to bad I think we should jump in and grab him up... has a pretty good scoring record if my memory is correct.

@ronillz

You got a lousy memory he's scored one league goal all season! Also he's rubbish!

Best to write things down if your memory's that bad.

Ronillz,
you said it "memory" cause that is what you would need to recall his goal-scoring exploits
cheers

Castaignos loan move collapsed as did a move for a south american striker

19 Jan 2012 20:57:33
eds, any chance of drogba on a short-term deal (like we did with bellamy)? have the club even entertained the idea? think he'd be great for us, still has plenty to offer. you only have to look at how he's performed for chelsea in the games he's played in..... {Ed002's Note - It is not an option.}

Why would chelsea loan a striker like Drogba to a direct competitor for top 4? makes no sense...and before you go on about Bellamy he is not the same class as Drogba.

19 Jan 2012 20:55:43
Hi eds

Also heard Castaignos deal is off, and Hoilett deal, and Sinclair is looking unlikely due to fee

Thanks

Mac

Who ever said the Hoilett deal was ever on?

At least we're looking to get value this time and not being held to ransom.

19 Jan 2012 20:44:37
Luc Castaignos in the Inter squad for tonight's Coppa Italia.
He isn't coming to Liverpool, I hope Phil Coutinho is.
JamieMK

Why does that mean he aint coming to us? Is that not a shop window? Being cup.tied.for the coppa.italia does not bother us.

Anfield Andy

It's January 19th. What makes you think Luc will not sign?
McAlien

Just a guess. because he's in their plans?

19 Jan 2012 20:22:51
Nout to do with us but QPR are on the verge of signing taiwo from AC Milan well done to them they must have good negotiators, they really ain't hanging around with the signings!

Square tomato

Or they're making ridiculous offers that cannot be refused, eg wages etc. There's a difference between that and the policy at Liverpool. They're just another club with newfound investment.

He has signed buts a loan deal

God whenever another club makes a signing apparently its not the LFC way, because we move like snails in the market. Its a good signing for them.

I can't figure out what QPR signing a left full back has got to do with us! Every time a club signs anyone someone posts here "we should have signed him"! how many players can we afford to pay wages to?

Where did I say we should have signed him?

Square tomato

Hi Eds

Hearing definite interest in Texeira, as his agents are travelling to have talks with LFC among other clubs. 7.8m fee rumoured? Heard anything?

Thanks

Mac {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

They are saying it is now more than a rumour, now negotiating.

So we now have 2 itk on the site - macca and Mac. How long till a Mack surfaces with news of hulk signing?

Joa carlos Texeira from sporting the 19 year old from sporting,,think people are getting rumours mixed up

19 Jan 2012 20:10:40
D.Texeira agents (Montero & Mendez) are now with him in Netherlands because of the interest Liverpool has shown in the player - via uruguayan journo

@nbstw

Twitter lol just seen that

Is this true eds? {Ed002's Note - I really don't know.}

Y would they go netherlands if liverpool showing interest...wouldnt they come 2 england ?

They would go to Netherlands to discuss the dea with their player

19 Jan 2012 20:09:17
it seems to me that the players that are at swansea seem to be the sort of players liverpool will be interested in. if we want players for the future talk to 2 or 3 of them that should be more realistic for the current position we are in. the owners would not have to pay a massive amount and then when we get top four the big names will be lining up to play at anfield. thanks, red for life.

Yeah except these are not the type of players that will get you to the top 4!

And what makes you think they would leave Swansea or if Swansea would let them go

If we could get the sinclairs etc at least we would have more chace than with carroll.

We have our own quality youngsters. Don't know why we don't give them a chance!

And exactly who are the players that will take us into the top 4? The ones that cost 35 million? {Ed016's Note - the ones with the greatest desire to win}

19 Jan 2012 20:07:06
Honda of to Lazio for £12 million what a bargain shame we never pulled our finger out

Again!

Did it ever occur to you that maybe he just doesn't want to live in the UK? Clearly it's not because the football is better in Italy

Considering what we've paid and on who in the last 12 months, it seems odd we weren't looking at this. This is the sort of deal several previous ones should have been. The shirt sales would also have been a huge bonus. {Ed002's Note - Liverpool do not get the money from shirt sales.}

Liverpool dont get money from sales but get money from sponsor who have an idea how much shirts are sold yearly. Stop this ridi answer next time. If we sell 2 shirts no one will sponsor us. I hope it get published as i think this site publish only UK viewers post only .

19 Jan 2012 19:58:04
Ed have you seen that Lazio are about to sign Honda for just £11.7 million.

For a player of that quality and age being available in this window, I'm amazed we haven't shown any interest.

I know we were interested this time last year, but surely we should be matching that offer with our current lack of creativity. I know I don't need to remind of his quality and potential, so are you as surprised as me at this?

Also do you have any idea or have you heard if we are gonna show any interest in him?

Jonesred
{Ed002's Note - I think he would make a great addition to Liverpool, but clearly the management team don't.}

Agreed mate at 11.7 million would have been a great piece of business. Still hoping we try an 11th hr bid though.

Jonesred

This has really pissd me off, i mean why did our club not place a bid. His shirt sales alone would of covered the transfer fee and increased popularity within japan, his technical abilitys might of even got andy carroll scoring goals. {Ed002's Note - Liverpool do not get the money from his shirt sales.}

If you go with fan I think 75% will agree that Honda will be a good sign. don't know why our management not think that way.

R-R

For 12 milliom pound he will be best transfer of this jan im sure provided he isnt injured....what a player he is...liverpool really should have put in a bid

Come on guys, our scouts and management are superb because they know what is best..Fans clamour for Mata and they sign Downing and now a section of fans want llorente so for the £20mln they will obviously sign Defoe instead. As for Honda, they already have the one they want, the majestic and ubber-creative Charlie Adam..case closed

19 Jan 2012 19:48:18
Apologies if you answered this later on last night Ed but I missed it.

I have read rumours/reports that River Plate have stated, young prospect Lucas Ocampos will be allowed to leave this month for 15 million.

It also reported that Liverpool and Chelsea had been monitoring Ocampos since last season. Liverpool are apparently ahead in this race?

Ed do you know if this is true and whether you have heard of anymore to this than the above?

Jonesred
{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of such reports but River Plate's Lucas Ocampos has been looked at by a number of sides with Bayern Munich and Chelsea maintaining an interest. I understand that Diego Caniggia took a look on behalf of Liverpool but it was decided that he would be too expensive to buy and that seems to have ended any brief interest that Liverpool had. Inter Milan, Sevilla and Palermo have also shown an interest and Juventus (not either of the Milan clubs) made a bid. Perhaps one for next year as a move in January seems very unlikely.}

Thanks mate appreciated. I'm sure it did say he could leave in Jan though. Think it was due to current campaign River plate are having.

Just curious to know whether people would sell Suarez if Real Madrid did come in with a deal worth more than 30mil? Unbelivable if yes, believe if no?

Does it matter,
filter out the s**t eds lol

You are a tit

How much more than 30 million? 120 million? I'd take 120, definitely :o)

I would only take £35m+Alonso.
Cheers, Conor.

Would take more than 30 million try 40+ and not till the summer when we can get better replacements

Persoally I wouldn't but if the club got a silly offer like a Ronaldo fee they might be tempted.Especially if they had replacements targeted and ready to sign them.I'd definitely keep Suarez as I honestly believe he will [ barring injuries ] get a lot better.

In my view he's one of the top half dozen attacking footballers in the world at the moment, which would make him almost impossible to replace. For 30 million we couldn't get a player as good as Suarez.
And he has what so many others lack- some sense of loyalty to his club and fans.

I'd consider swapping him for messi that's about it , no money cause he one of the best in the world u couldn't replace him

This is insanity. Our club has become a living cash machine, only caring about money in and out. I don't care how much Suarez is worth, he is the best player on our team right now, one of the best players we've had since the Premier League started. he's not for sale. period. But apparently we're obsessed with money, so if we buy him for 24 million and then we sell him for 40, it's a "good deal," so let's get rid, right? WRONG. we will go no where without him. even with him we're quickly becoming a mid table team despite our top of the table history.

35mil + benzema now thats a deal!

Eds i dont know why you let idiots post things like this. These are obviously not real fans!

I wouldnt sell him, much as Messi would.not.be sold, he is integral to our team at current and i therefore would.not sell him at any price

35mil plus benzema plus ozil

We are fast turning into everton defensively sound hard working with no real quality to break teams down!! Sell Gerrard and Suarez and we will struggle for top half!! Let's go out try and add quality Sinclair Jarvis names been mentioned are u havin a laugh? Go get tiote or dejong Johnson Lennon and remy pace and quality and would want to join and affordable

Only if can get same quality,or better.IF it exists

35mil + alonso, ozil, di maria, kaka and higuain ... then you might be talking

If andy carroll is worth 35mil then suarez must be worth 150mil,u wud have to be blind to not notice the difference in these pair chalk and cheese spring to mind.ps keep up the good work ed and macca.

Please stop this suarez rumour. Why not sell him to CITY ? with the money we can buy 11 players, but he is not for sale.

19 Jan 2012 19:22:21
4-4-2.com are claiming we are interested in Mauricio Isla of Udinese.... Any whispers Eds?
John {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

He is a quality player. when I post that word few people here told me I am his agent :)

19 Jan 2012 18:53:56
Liverpool interested in Nigel DeJong.

AmRed

How many more defensive midfield players do they need . They need an attacking midfielder someone who can pick a pass . You've only got to look at your home record to see when teams come to defend at anfield u can,t break them down . FACT .

19 Jan 2012 18:39:43
Rumours circulating we r in 4 de jong ( nigel that is) not now summer more thn likely after he doesnt want a contract extension. Although i cnt see alonso ever returning if he would be there. Wat u think eds?

Red rug

KD and DC have to bring someone in now, not summer. We need to try and qualify for CL - very unlikely now; we've left ourselves too much to do and the teams above us won't be caught if our striking rate doesn't improve. Without CL we won't attract the best players. I'm not being a bad supporter or defeatist, just trying to be realistic, unlike some of the posts I've read here recently

His wages would be way to high!

19 Jan 2012 18:38:58
hi ed's any intrest in ellia of Juventus?
Cheers, {Ed019's Note - Not right now - there was a while back}

19 Jan 2012 17:41:47
From the videos I watched in Youtube about the David Teixeira, his goals are similar to Andy's goals in NUFC. But two big difference is Teixeira has better movement and pace then Andy. Some videos make me think he is upgraded version of Andy. I am pretty sure if Andy started to fit in our pass and move style then surely his game will be similar to Teixeira. I think he can be an hit in LFC. Hope we sign him.
st
YNWA

If he is similar to Andy Carroll why is he labelled as the next Deco?

LFC won't be buying anyone in this transfer window. Kenny has already stated this several times. Don't you guys LISTEN to him? Nope! You don't!

Hes talking about a different Texeira

I'm pretty sure Joao Carlos was labelled the 'New Deco', not David Texeira. David plays a lot more like Torres in his strength and finishing, nothing like Carroll. In any case, Dalglish has stated we aren't doing any business and only the Academy are, so we won't be getting David either. We're stuck with mediocrity

David Texeira of FC Groningen and Joao Carlos Teixeira of Sporting Lisbon two different people

Jim

Kenny didnt say we arent getting anyone for the first team, he said we're expecing a quiet window. That means we could still bring in 1 or 2 players but not big signings so david texeira is possible.

Ummm suarez? ohh no thats ok we'll just bench him ??

Andy Carroll...has actually scored a goal??...& there's video footage to boot??...who comes up with this crap??

My nans movement(TO Kazee also s t)quicker than Carrols

19 Jan 2012 17:36:10
No transfers means they don't trust kenny or saving it for a new manager, not going to spend now then have to spend alot more in summer when they move kd on

Hahah idiot

Shut up you complete tool Kenny has faith in the players he has and has even stated that money is available, He said the 1st team will have a quiet January not a dead one and the academy is going to get a lot of player in

MJ

Erm... or that the right targets aren't available for the right price, possibly??

DP

Shut up, have you ever thought it may be that there are no real quality players available, and if there were it would be at an inflated price

Dude seriously...! Are you high..? I mean why would you even bother to post something like this..? I takes some effort to read on the computer screen and i am not going to waste that effort on a post by an person like you..

Musicnation..

That's what I said the other day on here,because everyone can see we need some players and if they trusted kenny he would spend but they don't and he will step down in the summer. Cheers pk

Don't see many other teams diving into the market either. not even city. your point is flawed

Some would call it responsible ownership. Or shall we buy big and bad just to appear to being positive? Get real

It does not mean they dont trust Dalglish at all, thats putting 2+2 together and not even getting an answer.
Dalglish may not believe that anyone he wants is available in January. The January transfer window is a time for beggers and stealers to charge inflated prices for their average players (Andy Carroll was one) most decent players are being kept for their teams European and league title chases.
We are better off waiting for the summer when teams can find replacements and are not under as much pressure to keep their players.

Anfield Andy

I smell a Manc.............

Possible or maybe saving money for summer transfers

I find it amusing how many of you jump the gun on the man's point. He may be right, the owners may have said that's your lot till the summer and feels KD has spent a significant amount on the squad this year. Who knows, perhaps like some have you have said is that the right players are not available or not available at the right price. I'm in favour of that theory. However we are currently 7th in the table which really isn't good enough and maybe yeah they don't trust him any more money. Hopefully thats wrong but fans start using your heads as opposed to your heart, its not completely out of the question.

Be nice if you had the guts to sign your posts

Jim

The guy has a point in one sense (but there is money available, apparently)

People are buying, or at least sounding out targets that are in and around us, Tottenham, chelski, arsenal, even Newcastle..

It's not being anything other than realistic

I was thinking about this and it is a possibility , but i seriously doubt it

He will resign sooner rather than later

Pardoe

Your right there doing the exact same thing at man utd chelsea man city arsenal spurs etc

Problem with waiting until the summer is that we wont be in the CL, possibly not in the Euro league (no guarantees) and consequently it will be harder to attract top quality players.
Personally I think that one way or the other we will be in the Euro league as it is hard to see a team with Suarez and Gerrard in it not making it.
This does not alter the fact that if anyone thinks we can get top 4 with the squad we have they are being very optimistic to say the least.

I'm thinking tool? UK person I'm a true Lfc fan who is realistic not blinkered bye stupidity the bloke who agreed and also posted similar is of a sound mind the rest are clueless who think we will sign player's like cavani, ozil etc reality is we can't attract them til we're in championship league, til then settle for the like of Adam

This is bulls**t

I agree alot what said here abt not wasting money but if u buy quality players u dnt waste it i mean if tevez is 25 m why wouldnt we go for him.

plus if we dont get 1 or 2 strikers in we got no chance 4th place so we lose chance 20 to 30 million there some times u got take chances.

Remember manc, the 600,000 million in debt paid so far by the glaziers

Who's the Manc?

You won't like this, but I've said it before, KK was God, but that's the point; WAS. We've seen him completely fail at other clubs (Celtic, N'tle) and we have no right to assume that he will be our saviour again.
Stanley Stan x

I acctually found that quiet funny....lol joke guy

No more a joke than some of the made up fantasy rumours some ppl put on here

My heart loves kenny but boy has he messed us up wat with the statue of liberty with a ponytail. the new kut henderson runs around. and downing less said the better.

I think kenny will sign 1 or 2 players in this window but is trying to get right players for the right price unlike last year (carrol) learn by your mistakes.

Some many shades of wrong.

How can you trust these players when where 7th, to be honest it's pathetic and people refuse to see what's right in front of them.

I'll go wit the under-statement dat frustration wit the team/results annoys us all - so can u younger lot stop & tink how some of us oldies feel havin bin waitin 22 odd yrs for another Title - tis a pain! Remember oul Red Nose was a game r so away from d chop himself... no easy answers... just faith & belief.. as said above... many shades of wrong (and right)....

Personally i'd get a lot more satisfaction seeing a young homegrown forward getting a chance than a a average striker being brought in and not really giving a f**k just as long as he gets paid, do you remember micky owen coming through a lot of people worried about his size and if he could live up to expectations ! Look how well robbo and Kelly did last year its just a pity kenny stopped there ! I reckon with when amount of chances were creating ecclesston would have outscored carroll (not hard)
Lucky the red

Wouldn't harm to give sterling a go, as they say if you're good enough you're old enough, even rush says he reminds him of Owen at that age, Everton did it with rooney, leeds did it with smith and milner, take the chance b4 we lose these boys to some stupid ueafa compo rule that lets them go for pennies

Liverpool are considering a move for DEFOE..

Well, aren't you in the know. old news.

U sad person what the y would
You even
Post this old old news you football rumours guru !

Craig M

Go back to sleep.

In other news man invents wheel

"In other news man invents wheel"

OMG! That is absolutely hilarious!!

We may have a team floundering in 7th place but, we are top of the table as far as witty fans...like to see ManU fans come up with something like that!!

Luis Suarez to Real Madrid for £29M

He wants to stay but i think Real would eventually go to £40+M

MJ

Wonderd how long befor this rubbish started get a life

Oh yeah we'll sell him cheap won't we? I'm surprised you didn't suggest we swap him for bloody Defoe!

Considering they don't have any money I think we are safe

Suarez is 24 years old, Had a great 2011 and now not to my surprise Madrid & others are circling around him like vultures, however id be very surprised if we accepted a bid for him unless he has asked to be allowed to move on, and if that is the case than id accept nothing less than £50m, simply because if Defoe is worth £20m, Bale £35m and Modric £40m no disrespect to them but what have they achieved in there playing career compared to King Luis ..

BigD

Mate they made a bid which was rejected!!

If the price is right, I am sure it is possible. Sad thought though.
If he did leave, and we got 50m, hopefully we won't buy another 35m flop!.

Are you the same Manc who said they were gonna ship Kenny out in the summer, or that we were gonna buy Defoe. Trying to cause s**t on this site as you normally do.

Sooty

Swap for ronaldo lol

There are at least 4/5 club ready with £50m . ask Real to keep that money in pocket. £29m they may have Carroll :)

R-R

Liverpool will not be selling anyone to Real Madrid

Do you honestly think we'd be happy making a proxy 8-9 million on a world class striker who would cost 40 to replace..?? Silly sausage

Gazman

Why would our club sell our best striker, kk should turn around and say straight swap for ronaldo, that should shut those madrid muppets up

You're a eejit, why would liverpool sell one of their their best players for only 29 when they're trying to get back into the cl.
also if carroll is worth 35 than suarez must be worth about 200 million.

^^^ round of a plause :D smart man/woman

Ye swap for alonso and 30 mill

Latest suggestion seems to be that we may be after Lodeira of Ajax.
CR {Ed002's Note -

We're You see this proof pleases

Craig M {Ed002's Note - I am guessing Twitter.}

Yes it was Twitter, suggestion is that he is more likely than David Texeira who a lot of people seem to think we are getting.

19 Jan 2012 17:14:57
Hi eds

contrary to reports it seems were after nicolas lodeiro from ajax as opposed to d texeira any news on him?

thanks

mac {Ed002's Note - Nothing right now.}

As much as i would like to see adam johnson in the red jersey i beleive he is not looking for a move... Yet! He will play the rest of the season with city as he has the chance to win the league. Once the summer comes around if he has not been playing more regular he will have his agent put the feelers out.
Makes sense.
Jayo

Why everyone get so excited about A Johnson?I read "for £20 is a good value".Why not put an extra £10m and buy Hazard?Johnson is nearly 25 while Hazard is 21.Can anyone tell me where and how Johnson played at 21?For me Hazard is a must!

Would he not still get a medal if he moved now and man city won the league?

kevc

We can't get Hazard. We don't have champs league football. But we can get Adam Johnson. He perfectly fits in. British, young, pacy and skillful. Just perfect.

Hi eds do we have an interest mauricio isla from udinese?

Cheers

Hi ed, in Kennys press conference today he claimed to know nothing about the young Ghanian guy, and said the academy was obviously having a busy transfer window, even if the first team are not.

Does this mean Kenny does not have a say in the young players that come in, and if so who decides which young players to bring in to the acadamy?

Thanks {Ed002's Note - I would expect McParland, Borrell and Comolli deal with most player related issues at that level. I don't know what level of interest or involvement Dalglish would have as first team manager, but he would have a broad appreciation of what is goining on.}

19 Jan 2012 16:47:09
Suarez- real 29m ?

Ha ha ha , not this old chesnut again.

29million? That's when you know its bulls**t when they can't even come up with a suitable figure.

Great contribution mate.

Liverpool will not get no more than 30 million for Suarez..He is hardly full of goals is he?

Suarez not full of goals? He's got 149 club goals and 26 international goals. One of the reasons he's not scored many for us is some of the mediocre players around him. He has to create almost all of his own chances.

They have no money

Well I'm glad you nitwits that value Suarez at £29/30 mill aren't in charge of the club because we'd be in administration by now if you had 6 months at the wheel!

What's that stupid post meant to mean??

To the guy who said not full of goals... let liverpool get granero or some one who can provide goals. we now have gerrard back and we are waiting on luis so u obviously dnt know crap

19 Jan 2012 16:38:46
Liverpool FC are set to complete an £850,000 deal for highly-rated Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Carlos Teixeira

1)Is this guy any good eds

2) Is he a replacement for Lucas

{Ed002's Note - He is just a kid who will go in to the reserves or academy.}

He tore us apart in the Next-Gen series.

Reserves not academy, he is 19 and our reserve squad is made up of last years talented academy side. He will be in the reserves for 6 months and train with the 1st squad in pre season 2012/2013.

Why are we bothering to sign him if at 19 he's just going to go into the reserves?

Afternoon Ed with Comolli's links with the French league do you think there could be a surprise signing like maybe Giroud or Valbuena or will they simply be too expensive

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - If I knew about a surprise then it would not be a surprise anymore. As for Giroud, perhaps in the future he will move to England, nut not now. It was expected that Giroud would stay within France with a move to PSG but performances this season have seen Valencia, Newcastle, Villarreal, Arsenal and particularly Malaga show an interest. Nicollin discussed the interest in the player saying Newcastle were too minor a club and Arsenal would have to pay 50M euros, if not 60M euros for the player. Valbuena was for sale over the summer and there was interest from several clubs, with Arsenal showing some interest the previous year - due to a enquiry via Jose Anigo that was pushed back at the time. There was also speculation in France that Arsenal would make an approach to Marseille to take Valbuena as a replacement for Nasri but that never happened. Right now the player is not looking to move and Marseille are not looking to sell - but no doubt a massive offer might tempt them. There is no interest from Liverpool in any Marseille players - or at least Liverpool have not spoken with Marseille at all. I will stick to what I previously said about this January - no massive spending spree etc. etc. unless someone like Suarez is sold.}

U know what ed if the right offer came in for suarez i would sell hes to much hassel and dosent score many goals.

Thanks for the answer Ed, concise and I'm sure accurate as usual. (as well as just a little sarcastic lol)

Chris in Tamworth

"Newcastle too minor". Am I the only one who finds the link "Coals to Newcastle" and "miner" a bit funny...?
Oh well, I'm sad.................

19 Jan 2012 15:38:02
{Ed002's Note - In broad terms, the current total annual revenue shared for televised top-tier league matches is:
Engalnd - 1.18B euro;
Italy - 0.91B euro;
France - 0.67B euro;
Germany - 0.41B euro;
Spain (Barcelona and Real Madrid) - 0.28B euro;
Spain (others) - 0.22B euro;
Netherlands - 0.10B euro.}

ed002, is this amount per team? or they are for all? i mean for example

England - 1.18b Euro per team or divided by the 20 teams? thanks ed.

Kaizer

{Ed002's Note - It is between all teams but /20 for the EPL is too simple. The distribution inludes merit payments so their is a difference between being first (about £60M for last season) and last (about £39M for last season. Liverpool received a little over £55M for last season.}

19 Jan 2012 15:26:42
Moussa Sow is gone, typical....

To Fenerbache can only be for the money. No interest in playing for the love of teh game.

Good pointless buying a player at the acon...suarez will be back before he would..plus he could get injured out there!need a right winger to help big andy out!

Don't Worry, it means we have a MASSIVE name in the pipeline!

J

He is also a very average player like Defoe who hopefully wont come!

Buller

What makes you think he would have been of any class over her? So he has gone from the french league to turkey! Says it all to me
LeeWils

Typical of Kenny and Comolli to let a player they didn't want go to another club, you mean? People moaned about the likes of Jeffren and Elia in the summer and what are they up to now? Warming benches mate, that's what. Trust in Kenny he's won us the league before he can do it again.

Kieran.

So(w) what ??

YES.... he is not good a enourgh. he is really not that good.

Once again some foolish posts here. Your saying Sow gone typical like you 100% know that he was a target for Liverpool.
Perhaps we werent as interested as you believe.
Are you going to moan when we dont get Hazard or Cavani aswell?
You just have to accept that Sow obviously was not a realistic target for us, or else we would have mad an offer.
Also, I agree about African Cup of Nations, im not gainst African players but also think that id rather buy from elsewhere due to basically losing a player for 6 weeks every year.
Imagine if Sow had come in and been a big success, those 6 weeks, which would be aroun 4-6 league games, 2 european games (knock-out stages), semi-final of league cup or 3rd and maybe fourth round of FA up. There is also the chance of them picking up an injury.
It does not make sense to buy, we would lose a player at a time of our season that is integral to success in various competitions. Can you imagine knowing that we would lose Suarez every year for the 1st knockout stage of any european cup competition we get into, or for the semi-final of league cup, or for 3rd/4th round of FA like i mentioned above, it would seriously affect our season every year.
Go for someone who will be with us all season every season and help us push for a silverware and top 4 positions when other teams around us (Man City/Arsenal/Chelsea/Tottenham/Newcastle) are all weakened by losing some of their players which usually include Adebayor, Assou-Ekotto, Yaya Toure, Kolo Toure, Gervinho, Demba Ba, Jon Obi Mikel, Drogba, Kalou, Chamakh.

Anfield Andy

And regardless, I see zero stories about him moving on the internet AT ALL. One story about Lille maybe accepting a bid yesterday... Numpties, man.

McSnuggles

Or maybe the so called fans can get a grip and realised andy Carroll is here for a while and get behind him. Granted we need a few more players but not panic buy and get average players for big money! Every one slated Lucas for years and now he's gone everyones crying ..... All I'm saying is give big andy a chance, I'd rather him than kuyt!

The ACON is every two years... {Ed002's Note - But there is one next year as well - a special treat.}

Sorry about my lack of knowledge regarding the African Cup of Nations being every two years, i thought it was every year. However the same still applies, id hate to lose a player for 6 weeks even once every other year, it would still severely affect us.

Anfield Andy {Ed002's Note - It is every two years but there will be one next year to allow the dates to shift from even to odd years.}

19 Jan 2012 14:57:18
Hey ed002, when u say that u think 1 or 2 players may be signing, does that mean academy ones included or just players ready for first team? Would appreciate if u could reply, being from Australia, it's hard to get any kind of reliable transfer information but I read this site religiously. {Ed002's Note - No, I was talking about first team squad players.}

Cheers buddy

19 Jan 2012 14:56:50

19 Jan 2012 14:46:12
Real Madrid's Esteban Granero's agent confirms Liverpool interest.

First I have heard of this...anyone? {Ed002's Note - Or not as the case may be. He was fishing. Surplus to requirements in Madrid, could interest any number of clubs and may be used as a makeweight in a transfer in the summer - until then he will stay as cover for injuries. Only solid interest at this time has been from Blackburn Rovers and Sevilla but unsubstantiated rumours have linked him to Liverpool and Espanyol as well.}

19 Jan 2012 14:42:11
watched athletic bilbao game last night, got to say they have 3 real talents in javi martinez, llorente and muniain. not sure how much of a chance we have of signing any of them but i hope we are at least considering it, especially muniain he was outstanding last night

Dont forget ander herrera. he is even better than muniain.
Indian Buzzer

From what the eds have said, it seems that Bilbao have slapped a large price on Muniain of 40m (euros I think), unreasonable for a player of his age, though I really do rate the player. As for the other two, they're unlikely at a guess, especially Martinez who is likely pining for a move to either Barca or Real.

We could have had martinez for 5-7 million when alonso left and i was all for it

If Rafa in Liverpool then they may join us but don't think kenny want them .

Munian tried to sell himself to chelsea or spurs which is where he see's 'his' kind of football being played?

19 Jan 2012 14:38:20
Hi eds, if the Inter player Macca was talking about is Luc Castaignos do you reckon he'd feature for the 1st team or is he more likely to be with the reserves like Teixeira? {Ed002's Note - It is a bit of a "what if" scenariobut if he were to join, perhaps on loan, I would think he would be a first team squad player rather than put in th reserves.}

Why would we loan a player for the reserves?? Would have to be first team squad...

Rob s

He ain't that good, id rather play Morgan and get Coutinho from Inter

19 Jan 2012 14:31:47
liverpool have been linked 2 hugo rodellega from Wigan arsenal and Everton r interested 2.

Oh boy yeah let's solve our goal famine by signing a guy who has so far scored 1 goal in 20 games!Arsenal are welcome to him and the Bitters are interesred in any breathing player but cannot buy since they are skint!

Joke, just not good enough.

I think ur from 2010

ED's other people are specualting, with your inside info who do you think we will sign?
ps... ive read the old posts and no mention of you sharing your thoughts on who you think will come in.

thanks Sajid {Ed002's Note - I am not going to speculate Sajid. I have explained what I expect to happen and have provided information on interest, or not, in players where we have it available.}

ED's other people are specualting, with your inside info who do you think we will sign?
ps... ive read the old posts and no mention of you sharing your thoughts on who you think will come in.

thanks Sajid {Ed002's Note - It is not worth me speculating Sajid.}

Definitely need to sign granero, the midfield needs some attacking flair. ynwa {

Isnt this site all about Speculating and wishful thinking! {Ed002's Note - You can speculate all you want. Knock yourselves out.}

There plenty of thoughts from the ed's... You'd be hard pushed to find a
Player that hasn't been mentioned on here and you'll almost always see a response as to whether they think it's viable. It's not confirmed, nor a science- an opinion based on inside info, gut feel and plain common sense...

Rob s

The el classico commentators said Granero is athletic last night. I know he's already technically sound so if that's true I wouldn't say no. What I would say however is that the club more than likely see a striker as a more important position to buy for. If a senior player is bought my money would be on a forward.

19 Jan 2012 14:20:08
edds kd has said expect accademy signings but not but no first team players this is not good at all this rate will not even get 6 place never mind 4 look i no we cant go get cavanni or hazard but surely there other players in our bracket we can get because i think we desperatly need a right winger thats forsure i could live with out a new striker till the summer but this window right wing is a must pls edds who you think is reallistic for this position or are we not signing anyoone i mean first team wise cheers {Ed002's Note - We always said it would not be like the summer but I stick by what I previously said about probably one or two players arriving.}

Finishing fifth or sixth would be a disaster , we managed to avoid the Europa league last season by losing at home to Tottenham and forcing them to participate instead .

We should be getting 4th easily, but we wasted 55 million on Carroll and Downing.

Just think if we'd bought Cavani/Falcao with that money.

Arsenal and Chelsea are the weakest they have been in the last 10 years and they are still above us. I wish Kenny would stop this obsession with mediocre British players, I would have no complaints if Benitez came back as manager. {Ed001's Note - yes, just think if we had bought those with that money and had to pay them over double the wages. Then we could be losing even more money and the new stadium would never be within financial reach and we would end up slipping even further back. Some people really have no idea what they are talking about.}

Enrique and Suarez vs Carroll/Downing/ Henderson/ Adam.
Rafa v Kenny.
NESV vs fanowned / REAL chairmen..

Shame how we set our sights so low these days...
No comparison really..

PS I love Kenny but British players arent the way. Neither is skimping on the wage bill with this Moneyball tripe.
Its FOOTBALL not Moneyball

Ed001 if watching the likes of carroll and downing means we will get a new stadium then I'd rather stay put and try and make an impact on the league now! You can't honestly say that 55m on those 2 is money well spent? I'm 100% behind KK but I can't tolerate mediocre performances from players that we have paid top top money for and they even look like they don't care

Somerset red {Ed001's Note - I fail to see how you equate the two? The point is that we couldn't go the extra mile to buy players on enormous wages. If we do that now, we will never be able to advance in the future. You may want to put us back where the two cowboys had us, but I would prefer my daughter and her children and her children's children to have the opportunity to watch this great club. If that means we can't compete with the Man Citys of this world, then so be it. I don't follow Liverpool for the glory, I follow Liverpool because I love the club. Trophy wins are just a bonus, but I will follow Liverpool all my life whether we win. lose or draw.}

Maybe I am missing the point but I thought winning trophies and qualifying for the champions league will provide the much needed finances you speak of? Surley top players on top wages will help towards this I too am a lover of the club and want only what's best which is why I get so annoyed when in my opinion so much of the transfer kitty seems to have been wasted. You seem to have still dodged the question £55m well spent or not?

Somerset red

19 Jan 2012 14:19:56
Hi Edds!
Do you know anything extra on the Daniel Sturridge and Danny Wellbeck situations? both looking at wage increases and according to the press we are interested!? Sounds like a good idea but i doubt Chelsea or Man u will sell thier best future prospects to us

Cheers
Harry {Ed002's Note - Neither are for sale.}

I'm certain both will be getting pay-rises. We don't need to think, too much. YNWA

Sturridge would be a good buy but Chelsea will not sell unless forced and if so they will want something around the £20m mark.

Even if both were available, sturridge would be useful but overpriced, whilst why anyone would be interested in danny "carthorse" welbeck is beyond me.....almost certain to be playing in league 1 within 3 years

Sturridge meant to be hacked off=worth a go?

19 Jan 2012 14:05:50
We have signed Joao Teixeira-a talented 19 years old lad who didn't make any appearance for Sporting senior team for about 1million.
While Zakaria Labyad(18 years old from PSV) has signed a pre-contract agrement with Sporting because his contract is ending in the summer.Labyad's performance of current season:
Europa League: 7matches 2goals 2assists
Eredivisie: 16matches 3goals 6assists
KNVB Beker: 3matches 3goals 3assists
Total: 26matches(8 as a sub) 8goals 11assists.Impressive for his age.Great deal for Sporting.
Marius

So your point is? Neymar is also 19.. Why don't we just get him.

Mind you lee sharpe also looked good at 19. Bit part player by age of 25...

Rob s

Seems like you're putting a downer on our signing already

We missed this lad.He has signed for Sporting as a free agent!

His Point Rob is that we should have gone for Zakaria because if the stats he has given are accurate and correct, then this guy is good enough to be in the first team. I know its the Eredivisie but christ this guy has more goals than Andy Carroll!!! and the fact that he is a winger.

We can't have them all. I don't think Liverpool would be stupid enough to miss players though, perhaps he's not right for us

19 Jan 2012 14:01:13
getting a bit frustrarted with this window we need to sign someone big carroll gd bt not gd enough we nrrd anutha striker upfront with suarez and we need a right winger lfc-liquid

Someone big? Carroll may be not good enough but he's still big enough - more than 190 cm!

Lol no i mean as in a well known striker like sow cavani even though it wont happen lfc-liquid

19 Jan 2012 13:45:51
Hi Ed, what are the chances of us signing Chiek Tiote from Newcastle? {Ed002's Note - About zero in January.}

Not good enough, when lucas returns he would be warming the bench!

19 Jan 2012 13:41:19
Hey ed what do you think of this,If rumours are to be believed there can be a good possibility of signing og montolive un summer on free if i am not wrong. {Ed002's Note - I think it unlikely that Montolivo will leave Fiorentina in January regardless of interest from Juventus, AC Milan, Liverpool and Roma. Inter remain favourites for his signature in the summer.}

19 Jan 2012 13:06:20
Hi eds,
ther have been some rumors about us targeting Douglas Costa. is there any truth in these rumors? {Ed002's Note - Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Rubin Kazan, Napoli, Manchester City and no doubt many others have been interested in the player at some point in time. He has been hawked around Italy and and Portugal by Cesar Bottega and a cash deal is all that is acceptable. I guess not completely out of the question but if Liverpool had shown an interest I expect that Bottega would have shared that information with anyone who would listen. And do Liverpool have a need for a player in his role?}

He is a good player what i have seen of him so would be a decent addition but for how much ?

19 Jan 2012 13:03:41
hi eds, after dalglish coming out and saying its going to be a quiet window, do you think we will not be purchasing at all? i would be dissapointed imo because we seriously lack firepoewer upfront cheers racca {Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed as far as I am concerned. If no cover exists for any players leaving or long term injured the club will consider buying or possibly loaning players. If their are obvious shortcomings the club will look to buy. I will stick to perhaps one or two players arriving.}

Is there any particular reason why some of us have to point out the "elephant in the room".
We're desperate for investment. Champs Lge is a pretty average to weak chance.
Isn't this 5 x European Champions we're talking about.

NESV are doing exactly the same as G&H. Only this time, the purchase price is the debt.

G&H broke the club's soul. Now, too many fans have no expectation. So NESV think we can be fobbed off with con-artist bulls**t phrases like "long term plan".

To person without clue referring to nesv... They ave stayed true to their word? What did you expect? They want to build a solid club based on a 'long term' plan which will set the foundations for years to come. Yes, it's a business but it doesn't mean it can't be successful. They have proven records in developing long term sporting business plans. What concrete evidence do you have to back up your dumb points?? They may have only been here just over a year, you may have been a 'supporter' for decades but you can't substantiate one bit of your outburst. Their cv looks better than yours so quit moaning and get behind the team and nesv

Rob s

Theres going to be plenty of signings for the acadmy, the likes of Texira(i cant spell) and other younger players, during the winter we are going to focus on bringing in young players for the future rather than players for the senior squad, which i imagine will be strenghtend during the summer!

FAO Rob s, for a start off I don't need a "CV". I'm the boss of my business. I don't sell myself, people come to me.

Back on the football, what do NESV know about it? Ahhh, thats right.. nothing.

When did they "fall in love with all things Kop-shire"? Probably just after they saw some marketing stats from "Emerging market target userbases"...!

Better models? Hmm the top Spanish and German clubs arent doing badly. And the clubs aligning themselves with "sovereign state brands" are doing ok.

18months ago, NESV couldn't even recognise a football pitch. So I think I'll pass on them being "genuine soccer loving guys"..

Money talks and .. u should know the rest! {Ed001's Note - NESV moved for Liverpool because one of their number is a fan, he convinced the others to buy into his dream. So you are only partly right.}

To the person slagging off our owners, did you expect them to come in and give KK £300m or so and win the league in one fell swoop? Well, it's not going to happen like that, as we are Liverpool and will do it our way and if that means a few more years before lifting the title, well so be it. By that time we will be strong and be able to stay there for years to come, which is what we all want, right? The owners also have a new stadium to fund, they don't come cheap you know, even taking into account naming rights! Long term plans are far more sustainable that anything else and all business people should know that!

u got to sign powerful strikers for goal scoring.bent or demba ba will boast the striking force.

Because demba ba has had 1 good season so far, dont make him powerful striker. he has just been more lucky than others. forget about demba ba. he will not help at all i think.

Can't wait for macca to say he new all along about this lad Joao Teixiera. {Ed002's Note - It was known that there had been some interest shown in Teixeira but he is one of many kids whose name comes up. He is not one for the first team just yet but the story is some weeks old and even the Express were carrying it a couple of weeks back. What surprises me is that for some reason you have decided to take a cheap shot at Macca over this transfer - and I remain astonished that the supporters cannot simply be thankful for any decent insights that are shared with them.}

Insights? we were told about a mysterious inter player sposed to be signing? wheres he? no where.

Disagree, thank you to macca for taking the time to post on this site.

ynwa

Macca knew about Coates didnt he? Ed's knew about Coates as well {Ed002's Note - I'll put my hands up to say I knew o0f interest in Coates but did not expect him to sign until a day or two before he did.}

Last year macca said are signings would be benzema , young and adam . {Ed002's Note - And he was good enough to give regular updates as news became available. It seems that many of the supporters are simply going to snipe at either the Eds or Macca. But I guess we just have to live with it.}

Couldn't agree more ed. Macca gives his information without asking for anything in return, if you don't like what he has to say don't read it. Alternatively, just don't read this site, since you're obviously not interested in RUMOURS, just sniping at those that give them. {Ed002's Note - We make significant cash payments to him for this information. You know, brown bag stuffed full of used notes in a litter bin on the edge of Stanley Park. I assume he has been picking the parcels up.}

Agreed with Ed's post here, I stumbled acrioss this site the other week and have been checking it on a daily basis. It's proving to be THE best resource for any deals, rumours or otherwise. Keep up the good work.

I understand the need to sign top young talent from both here, and around the world. But it is painfully obvious that we need a striker to score goals now. Ok, the window is open until 31/01/12, so we have some time yet, but if liverpool fail to sign a goal scorer and continue to feed us the line about Andy Carroll being for the future, we will continue to miss out on dining at the top table.
I know it angers some evertonians that we seem to have an in-built god given right to be winning trophies, but as one of the most successful clubs in the world we should have developed a unique understanding of what it takes to win. And with that, what makes a great player. But also with the club having knowledgeable fans, we know when there is a need for quality. Someone, on this site, wrote the words that I have been itching to write myself. We should not be forced to "follow-blindly". We know what works and what doesn't. And if you asked every single Liverpool fan what is needed, each and every one would say 'a quality striker'. If we can see it, then the club can see it.
I'm not calling for a £20/30m player, we know we don't have that money to spend in this window. But if we don't get someone in, we are in trouble. As our goals scored this season shows.

Well said ed's, honestly one of the more reliable rumour mongerers yet people with zero clue feel the need to have a pop! There are a few idiots who come on here to spout complete rubbish and don't sign their name off other than ending it in' mark my words' or ' you heard it here first' mAcca is not one of them and has never claimed to be an oracle. He does seem to have more credibility to his posts than most though!

Agree totally with u Ed shocking macca and the eds tell us to the best of there ability what they know and people just can't wait to take a shot !supporter like that who needs rival fans

You mean insight like the benzema deal last year? lol full to the neck of bulls**t

Benzema and Young? where the f*** are they? no where...

That, or there is now a very rich hobo on the edge of Stanley Park, ed002. {Ed002's Note - Do you have hobos in Liverpool?}

With all the ungrateful comments its a wonder Macca or the Ed's bother to post at all. I for one would like to thank them for their continuing sharing of information as they are the only ones who are being realistic

Jim

Ungrateful... Macca explained about Benzema that there was interest but Madrid had injuries up front and by the end of the season he was back in favour. Young? he chose Utd just like Jones. Adam was documented enough.... especially ed001

As I write this I'm getting more annoyed, why do you use the site if it's unreliable? The information has always been as reliable as possible, certainly more so than mainstream news outlets whilst remembering things change quite quickly in football business...

I knew for Coates, too. A week before the transfer was done. I knew for Adam as well. I knew for Downing, and Suarez, and I had hopes for Carroll. But who is asking me?

The poster is a pratt...

Not worth replying too ED's

RobbehLFC.

The ingratitude and stupidity of some posters here is nothing less than astonishing.
Would you sooner read endless crazy claims about how Cavani has been seen at JL airport snogging a sky news crew, or Hazard said to someone's brother's mate that he was deffo coming to LFC in swap for Comolli's pet labrador? For f*cks sake- Macca's one of very few we can actually trust here!

Macca is probably taking a degree of risk in sharing some of his info as best he dares, and yet there are still mean-spirited and stupid people like this who try to name-call him. Seriously fella, you need to get a life and cheer the f**k up, and go find someone else to pick at insult. I bet you're a real bundle of joy to work with eh?

Macca, please please please ignore d**ks like this- 99% of readers on this site have followed your info closely, and seen for themselves that you are nearly always spot on, and we can all see where players or clubs changed their moods and expected moves fell through, like Young- and we are really grateful for the info you share.

'I knew for Coates, too. A week before the transfer was done. I knew for Adam as well. I knew for Downing, and Suarez, and I had hopes for Carroll. But who is asking me?'

Cos you got all your info from the press and probably knew about 100 signings. Macca is usually pretty specific about deal, he signs off his posts( you dont) and is therefore an easy target for idiots like you to question his integrity. He has never said anyone is 100% cos they dont exist in football. All he has done is share his often correct insights as to who we're seriously interested in. That's a damn site more than you have done...

Rob s

When will people realise that rising to the bait with these clowns only gives them a bigger buzz, they are prob sitting there laughing their heads off at the mini chaos they have caused by criticising macca i know i am, and i am not even one of his slaters. i am just grateful for names in the hat and maccas seems as good as any others, people need to relax a bit i am sure maccas got broad enough shoulders, and more often than not i am sure he has the last laugh anyway.

foginspector

Thumbs up for macca and the eds.....!

musicnation

De is right it is a cheap shot, macca never says its 100% to happen, he does give good info

Hmmmmmmm didn't think you would post my reply, too near to the bone was it ? Nob heads {Ed002's Note - It would have been posted if you had signed it and were not simply an anonymous coward. Also, I hardly see my giving support to Macca to gets you so pissed - but do see the hatred for myself an Macca just spewing from you. You repeatedly come to the site giving anonymous abuse - you truly must lead one desperate life.}

To be honest Macca knows his stuff.the eds on the other hand are just glorified moderators. I will only come on here to see if Macca has given a rumour otherwise I wouldn't bother.remember the Coates deal eds0002?

Jamie

Macca and the eds may or may not be a 100% right,but they give their time and effort so we can enjoy this site for what it is ,a rumour site ! but what is a 100% certain is that you are a bit of a pr**k !. ant {Ed002's Note - What we get is the soft brained cretins like Jamie who have made zero contribution to this site. I was indeed wrong about Coates - how come Jamie failed to mention all the players I was correct about?}

We all post RUMOURS that come our way, some speculation, some come to fruitation!
Macca on the other hand passes on information which 90% of the time is spot on. Apart from the Eds i dont recall another poster who posts genuine Information. Speculation is something entirely different.

so anybody else think its strange we sign a lad called texeira and now were looking at another? me thinks the second is a mistake and we have no interest in him at all, people got the wrong one and chineese whispers took over.
RNred

If they build a full team of Texeiras, then they won't have to waste money customizing shirts. i just hope they don't sign Mark Texeira from the New York Yankees.

John CT

I don't think the second was a mistake. Grobbelaar mentioned about a 'South American who plays in Holland' or something along those lines. Posters on here have suddenly jumped to the conclusion that LFC are interested in David Texeira, I have seen that we are being linked to him over the internet, whether there is genuine interest in him is another matter..

I have a contact over in Amsterdam and he seems to think that the interest is in Nicolás Lodeiro, my source has shared some good info in the past and i believe he could be right with this one. Very talented player, close to Suarez, from a respected club that sold us Suarez and seemingly finding his way back from an unfortunate injury. It will be interesting to see what comes of this info....

Defoe has stated that he doesn't want to leave tot. GLAD!

Oh god yes

Thank the lord

Translation = I DO want to leave and my agent has been putting stories out to that effect but, because no one has shown any interest at all and my insane chairman has priced me at 20 Bugatti Veyrons, , I'm about as sought-after as an Everton In Europe DVD. Therefore I am happy at Spurs.

I understand that there has been a bid accepted by Lille for Sow.

I have no idea who the club is though. Any ideas Eds?

Fenerbache

Its Fenerbahce and its been well known about their bid has been known for ages

talksports.

manchester united and liverpool target ricky van wolfswinkel is a wanted man - with lazio ready to make a £13m bid for the sporting lisbon star this month.

ed do we still have interest in him ?

r-r {Ed002's Note - I think it is most unlikely that Liverpool have any interest in Van Wolfswinkel anymore.}

He only joined in th summer, we had an interest but deemed him not good enough hence why he moved to Lisbon.

More likely to get rip van winkell, just go bye Bent then all those draws will turn to wins,and what do points make, Prizes.

Now this is the guy we should have been getting and not that beer sludging tanker called Carroll. They are about the same age, but the sole difference is that this guy smells the net with his eyes closed and scores while Andy Carroll couldnt even hit a bulls-eye as big as a continent from about 2 yards out if asked 2!!. I knew we made a mistake to deem him not good enough, the same way we deemed Ronaldo not good enough when he was at our club(having his trials), the same way me thinks we will deem Joao not good enough yet for me he is mature enough to be in our first team along with Morgan, Suso and Sterling...

sow is a possible sign as he has state he would love to play for liverpool and is currently in paris he has acceted fenabace offer but is hope liverpool will still cum in for him that why he try to stall the deal i think we should go for him 10 - 12 mill . we could easyley sell him for that in the future maybe more think its worth a punt plus expressed he would like to play for liverpool show he got some passion for liverpool he a good finsher . goal poacher and he got pace red indian {Ed002's Note - Sow has left Paris for Lille this morning and I can confirm that Liverpool have made no direct approach for the player. Lille have agreed to 10M euro up front and a maximum of 3.3M euro based on performance. I don't know when any deal will be completed but assume that Sow will need to return to Africa today or tomorrow.}

So Liverpool have agreed a Fee for Sow or are you referring to Fenerbache ? {Ed002's Note - I thought it was clear that I was referring to Fenerbahce as I said I can confirm that Liverpool have made no approach for the player.}

Well then that clearly means that we ain't interested, shame really for the price he's going for, i just really hope that we buy a good striker and possible winger/play-maker but as things are going its looking extremely doubtful.

Sow's got so much passion for Liverpool he has agreed terms with Fenerbache. He's the same as most of them - it's all about money!

Why the hell didnt we bid for him? Seriously this English Policy will kill Liverpool. 13 Million Euro for Sow is a bargain, considering he is brated higher then Ba for his country.

So he will not play football because he loves Liverpool? What a crap comment!

Does this free up DeJong? {Ed002's Note - Lille selling Sow to Fenerbahce makes no difference except if Lille drop any interest in De Jong if they complete the move for Nolan Roux.}

Mate i never said he wouldn't play coz he has love for Liverpoolhe jus like a move to liverpool and love to score infront of the kop that why he probly said he like to play for liverpool 66nde be back in france for 3 days to talk to fencbace but not signed anyting ye t hopin liverpool put a offer for him 9
Mill up front 3 mill ii add on ss a bargin that all i was sayin

19 Jan 2012 10:59:20
Hi ed, I think our owners will not panic buy in this transfer window. Spending £20 mil on Bent, Defoe, Ba etc are no no's, they will not give us instant success. I have faith in ower owners, Kenny and Comolli. I believe its a work in progress and any signings this transfer window will be for the future and not just for this season. Fans, please remember we have plenty experience in Kuyt, Gerrard, Carragher, Bellamy, Maxi, Reina, Agger, Johnson, Skrtel, Downing. We need to sign hungry young talent and make them into world class players like what we are trying to do with Henderson, Suarez, Carroll, Shelvey, Adam, Lucas, Coates. I would like to see another winger and striker signed. Luc Castaignos and Fernando Teixeira look like good possible signings. How about an outragous suggestion in trying to get Theo Walcott From Arsenal. The lad seems very frustrated that he doesnt play as often as he likes. Spending 20 mil on him would be well worth the money, especially for his pace. Kenny may have to pass on some composure and shooting advice.

Seriously? Walcott was better in the early part of the season but he seems to have gone back to his old self. He has as little end product as Downing. Get a clue mate.

Theo Walcott would be a great signing but I doubt Arsenal would sell to us. Walcott aint been great recently and I blame a lack of game time for this. He started most of the games at the beginning of the season and was full of confidence. Would be a good signing

Walcott is useless. When on the wing he either sprints down the outside with no crossing ability to get the ball in or comes inside with no vision to play others in. He is a.weaker downing. Downing may not be as fast but he has end product, he just hasnt produced his best yet, which i believe is down to off field troubles.regarding his ex mrs.
We all know Adam Johnson is oir main wide target and his twice what Walcott or Lennom bring to the table.
Anfield Andy

I agree with the idea of pursuing young, promising players. I just posted my first comment ever earlier about how signing lads like Joao Carlos Texeira is a step towards finding hidden/unknown talent. And thanks to Ed002 for allowing the post! That said it would seem absurd for anyone to want to spend 20m on Walcott. I'll concede he has great pace but he really hasn't developed very much over the last 4 years. He doesn't seem to have great vision or even a good football brain. Himself and Carroll seem to define the 'English Premium' when it comes to transfer fees. Having seen Raheem Sterling (albeit only on TV in youth/reserve games etc) he seems to have all the same raw materials that Walcott had. Time will tell if he has better awareness, vision etc... but at least it won't cost 20m to find out!

Are you Arsene Wenger trying to get us to make a bid for Walcott? £20 Million? Behave! I wouldn't give you £20 in Aldi discount vouchers.

ADAM JOHNSON! no way, He is useless when you havent got the ball and the game is at a fast pace. Hes good when Man City have a lot of possession but poor when he needs to battle back.

"We need to sign hungry young talent and make them into world class players like what we are trying to do with Henderson, Suarez, Carroll, Shelvey, Adam, Lucas, Coates".

TRYING is the key word there. I can assure you Adam is not young neither is Suarez and the chances of making Carroll world class makes me laugh. As for 20mil for Walcot kind of contradicts your post saying we wont panic buy this window.

WB

Bent may be a no no, but over the last few season,and remember who he as played for as scored more than your strikers have.
Just imagine the amount of goals he would get with the class you have.

Adam is 25-26 and Suarez is 23-24, they are both relatively young and both have a mimimum of 7 years left which means we dont have to get replacements for atleast 5. Johnson offers more.going forward than our current wide men and may not track back but we need help going forward, defensively we are ok, especially when lucas the one man wall returns.

Anfield Andy

Bent is a proven goal scorer and would score goals for any team he plays 4 i would like him 2 play for liverpool ive been sayin this since he was at charlton, we need a world class winger some 1 direct who likes 2 turn an run wid the ball, wat do u think?

Good idea. Aurelio will leave in the Summer so we need a replacement to keep the medical staff busy full time. Would be sound value for money from their pov @ £20M.

Sackem all except gerrad and suarez and start again with the current players we have i bet half of them wouldnt be touched now def not downing, henderson or carrol they dont create anything no crosses put in for carroll so I do feel sorry for him but whilst he tries he is tryin very meuch so !! KD cant see the wood for the trees or he is being restricted by someone!! if its brokje fix it ? we need a striker I would do a better job then the lot even with my bad knees and despite being 43 its about passion and desire which these players are not showing. KD need to be more positive in what he says and less cryptic for a funny man he is becoming dull and unimaginative scum are loving it and it hurts!!!

S bradford

Walcott's pony - Do you actually understand the game? That's a totally clueless suggestion!

I'm a Charlton fan,and the one who keeps on about you getting Bent. I have always had a soft spot for Liverpool and just think he would be the man for you,get Adam Johnson also and what with Suarez, go get the Manchester 2.Has for Walcott all speed no brains can't cross a ball,plays 1 good game every 10. You deserve better than that.I wish you all the best for the rest of the season don't forget Bents the man to get you goals.

19 Jan 2012 10:57:19
I hate to say it but I dnt think we will sign anyone for the first team kenny has again stated we will be quiet ' the academy won't ' but the first team will , normally he says we will keep things behind closed doors, I think this his way of sayin no one is comin in

Or it could mean we are going to make a signing with other teams thinking we are not being active to keep the price down. I rememeber Alan Pardew saying Newcastle United wont be doing any business in this transfer window and would be concentrating on keeping thier current players. A club does not spend £10 mil on a player who they aint been watching or planning.

I hope ya right but I can't see it

If Kenny doesn't add to the first team squad he is insane.

We need a new stiker thats it...but it could be possibly we wont sign any1 because suarez will b bck in feb

He has to buy or else we won't be going anywhere. not even getting europa will look pretty bad on KK

So why are you on a rumours site? If I had a quid every time i heard a manager say he's not signing anyone or a player said he's not leaving I'd be able to afford messi..

So Macca got it all wrong then when he said there would be one signing coming in?

19 Jan 2012 10:38:03
hi Eds, just a few bits relating to our rumours -

Granero - got a 10min runabout in El Classico last night. could be for the window shoppers out there, altho the same could be said for Ozil!

Sow - neve been fantastic IMO. if we need a striking solution NOW, he is not our man - 31 goals from 54 games aint half bad, but with payet, hazard and gueye supporting, he's certainly had world class service - not sure how well he'd respond to having downing and kuyt on the wings (I always see craig as a striker)

Defoe - for some reason, i can see him making a big impact if he were to come - when he and crouch were in gear a few seasons back, they formed a great partnership - we have big andy, who can (given the chance) lump them in from 20 yards out, so we need the guy with a good curl to his shot, a bit of speed, and if it meant keeping his Euro place, a real hunger for the pitch. Obviously not the cavani, hazard we all want, but i think can do the job

also, i think if we are to sell Kuyt, it should be now rather than summer. Unlike Maxi, who makes a cameo, scores a hatrick, takes a week off, scores again, etc. Kuyt's on pitch performances are skydiving. If we dont move him on now, he'l end up on a free in summer.

How will Kuyt end up on free? This coming from a guy who thinks the answer is Defoe!! Any one think Defoe will make any difference?

You're right about sow, not sure he's right for us but Defoe is not the answer.. He's got orse record than sow with bale, Lennon and modric for support.. Always been a good player in bad teams... Spurs's form is not down to him and he can't break through

At 29 he will be massively over priced cos Harry believes all his subs are worth $20 mil..

Rob s

Im a spurs fan i must say jd has been a good servant to my club, if arry can get the players he wants i wont be sorry to see him go! slightly overated but still better than bent (having seen both first hand), i personally think he will go to qpr? if liverpool make an offer and hold talks with jd should then qpr make an offer i can see him turning liverpool down in favour of the west london club

Yeah pal granero got a run out for the sake of clubs who might be interested in signing him. madrid playing against their biggest rivals who they have a terribile recent record against and who jose is desperate to beat but he decided that givin a player a run so he could impress scouts is more important than winnin the game. get into the real world my friend. as for defoe if u look at his record against the big teams its pretty poor and he tends to do his scoring in spurts of 4 or 5 weeks! there'll be 3 or 4 games where he'll get 2 or 3 or sometimes even 4 and then will go 5 or 6 weeks without a goal. imo we should be spendin the money were talkin on spendin on him on a consistent goalscorer whos scores more frequently. defoes a bit like berbatov last yr he got 20 league goals but got 5 in one game 4 in another and a couple of hat tricks where as someone like chicarito or van persie were gettin ones and twos in alot more games.i honestly dont no who the alternative would be but defoe is not the answer. i'd take darren bent but only for less than 10 million.

19 Jan 2012 10:33:46
Hi Eds.

Any word on Xerdan Shaqiri from Basel? I heard us and United were interested a few weeks ago, but have heard nothing since.

He's quality and only 20 {Ed002's Note - If Shaqiri were to be available now then there would be plenty of interest including at least Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Hamburg, Leverkusen, both Manchester clubs and Liverpool. I am also sure if he were to become available then Arsenal would also be interested, but it is tough to see him leaving a team he has been with since he was a young child during their Champions League run. Perhaps the summer is a better option. A recent low bid from Galatasary was not accepted.}

Quality player that liverpool must sign or regret that another prem side will get him

this lad will be a great we must sign him at all cost

19 Jan 2012 10:16:30
Is there any possibility we could get Daniel Sturridge from Chavski? Sturridge is getting frustrated with playing wide and wants to play centre forward. Thats what we need and it's obvious the boy has talent. What do you think eds? {Ed002's Note - He is not for sale at the moment so nothing is going to happen in January.}

I'll have to start copying and pasting my reply to loons who ask why we don't sign Sturridge but here we go again!
CHELSEA HAVE SAID DANIEL STURRIDGE IS NOT FOR SALE! I won't even bother repeating why he's not for sale but you can use the search facility to find out!

19 Jan 2012 10:11:14
ed, there is a lot of news about kk trying to sing fernando llorente, how reliable is this? {Ed002's Note - Twitter I guess?}

In spain there are reports of a move in the summer for him.

I hope this is true

hi, ed. Have you got any transfer news?
{Ed002's Note - Nope.}

19 Jan 2012 10:01:33
Hai.... Ed..Are we scouting David Texiera? Heard rumours we wanan sign him? have seen his video. well built up..his pace reminds me of torres..and most important..he knows to put the ball in the back of the net..still 20 he i think will be a Star with liverpool?
What are the other players we might be signing?
pls comment on this?

YNWA {Ed002's Note - Please read the other posts.}

In the paper they agreed a fee of 1 million for him but its only paper talk {Ed002's Note - You are getting confused.}

19 Jan 2012 09:54:26
ED002.. Is Moussa Sow the Mobile Clinical finisher we need? How do you rate him as a player

I only know what is mentioned in wiki and few youtube videos ..nothing close to your knowledge on French Football...

Sorry (I know you dont like to get too much into players) {Ed002's Note - He is a decent player that Liverpool had watched.}

19 Jan 2012 09:51:53
Hey just got to say i do not know how the ed's cope, i'm fed up of reading the same posts over and over by idiotic fans who want a quick fix...

We are NOT going to sign Torres...
He left us for spam, a few days before the end of the transfer window a few days after he said he was saying and not so long after the greedy spanish git sold his book "to the best fans in the world"

Cavani...
Will NOT be joining mark my words... no matter if we could afford the £30 mil to buy him we can not offer him the same wages as madrid,chelsea,city E.T.C
we can not offer CL football either

Hazard...
Regarded one of europes biggest prospects, once again we can NOT match the other teams wages or offer CL football...

Same as most big name players you can think of...
we are a club rebuilding and doing it the right way...

Henderson, Carrol, Adam, Downing, Enrique,
These may not have been the signings you were hoping for but they all wanted to play for LFC, Regardless of the wages we offered, these are the players we should be supporting through thick and thin.

Get real and stop confusing Football manager and fifa with real life...

This is not directed at all fans on here because i do enjoy reading the majority of the posts, but please stop coming up with this
Hazard £30 mil Cavani £30 mil
Sell Carrol £20 Mil Kuyt £10 Mil, We only spend £30 mil of our own money.

Just needed to get that off my chest... Rant over
Great site Ed's
Cheers
G BOX

Lmao mate u took tha words right out my mouth, gd post

Well Said !

Well said. Agree 100%

Exactly. Well said G BOX. I love the sit too but sometimes people on here seem to confuse 'Championship Manger' with the real world. I dunno - maybe that's part of the charm. The 'Eds' probably get a laugh from some of the rumours they know are blatant madness! Even if Liverpool had 100m to spend it doesn't mean they would be able to sign the likes of Hazard, Cavani etc.. There are lots of non footballing factors to consider when it comes to players moving. Some players may only fancy living in certain climates or certain cities or may have huge wage demands. Damien Comolli would surely have much more detailed info on people like Hazard or other emerging players in France etc.. and if Liverpool aren't in the running for a player like that then I'm sure it's not through lack of interest or effort - but simply because the club isn't in a position (yet) to trump the 10-15 other clubs who are currently bigger draws than Liverpool. Hopefully this will change in the next few years. Lastly - it's not always 'Hollywood' signings that improve teams. Look at the impact Gary McAllister had when he came in on a free transfer and was in his mid 30's. Signing Eden Hazard for 30m guarantees nothing. Maybe the smart move is to now look for the next Eden Hazard. Obviously the thinking behind moving for the likes of this young lad Joao Carlos Teixera... {Ed002's Note - Dubbed the "new Deco" by the Portuguese press.}

Yes but Suarez was a "fifa" signing even when the Eds said we had ZERO chance of getting him, i think we should at least persue them and get knocked back rather than just let them go to Chavski or City and watch them get CL football again.

What makes you so good about people come here to say their thoughts and rumours they've heard so give them a brake you don't like it don't come here !!

I don't think we are a club rebuilding. We are a club treading water. WE have to accept that the glory days are gone. We can no longer compete with the likes of Chelsea, City, United, even Tottenham have demonstrated an ability and willingness to outspend us. We simply do not have the revenue streams available to us that other huge clubs do (as demonstrated by our recent aborted attempt to open the discussion on individually negotiated tv rights deals). The reason nobody else supported us in that was the fact that changing the status quo would benefit nobody but us. All other big clubs have exploited their international brand value by not having 2 decades of mediocrity! Add to all this the fact that we are alone, there is massive anti-liverpool feeling at home and abroad (we are not the only ones who havent forgotten the times when we dominated the world of football) which makes our ambitions even harder to achieve. Personally i think that FSG had banked on greater support for allowing the big clubs to explore the possibilities of letting us reap the rewards of OUR overseas popularity. (Incidentally if tv rights were negotiated here as they are in Spain then Liverpool and United would be far and away the richest clubs in the league in terms of revenue).
The fact is, with the constraints on us currently, the emergence of nouveau riche clubs such as City (QPR anyone?) and the continued development of Tottenham (disgraceful to see a club of similar if not slightly less means than us show us up so horribly, i mean look at the squad they have assembled for similar money: Bale vs Downing, Adebayor vs Carroll, Parker vs Adam) I think it is telling that we finished 7th in Benitez, last season and since then have spent 100m + on incoming "talent" and yet look on course to finish 6th (Newcastle will drop away) ok, so another 3 quarters of a billion in investment and we'll be challenging for honours again!
Its worth pointing out thought that i would take a mid-table liverpool that remains true to its values over a city or chelski scenario any day of the week.
Thanks for reading, sorry for the negativity but just felt a healthy dose of reality is needed on this site sometimes!

Most of what you have said is spot on, however, I don't think that CL football is compulsory when trying to attract players; although it helps. Man City weren't in the CL when they signed Tevez, Silva et al. It's all about how much £ Liverpool are willing to put up.

Good post, funny to see a couple of people arguing your point, winds me up when I see people thinking they are the smartest thing ever by implying the management team have missed a trick in not signing higauin or cavani etc.. Like nobody had noticed how good they were and all we needed to do was place a simple bid and it was a done deal. What's worse is there is usually a post about 20 mins before asking the same question yet they can't be bothered to scroll down the page and appreciate the site for what it is...

Good post. Sound.

Liverpool need to offload suarez

The "new Deco" oh dear god!! Lets be fair though Deco did have a good touch for a man with eyebrows as big as his

Its a fans forum so let them speak their thoughts. if you dont like it then why not run your own web-site? no-one's forcing you here (we hope)

Hold the phone GBOX. What about the target of the top four? This is our target for the season. It s sad that football has become about 20mil this and 30 mils that but thats what success seems to cost. We have had the finances but bought the wrong players. Yes henderson,carrol,downing,adam and enrique wanted to play for lfc (and so they should) but they certainly didnt come cheap.could the money have been more wisely spent? camoli reputaion is for finding the best talent in football and for the acedemy he seems to be doing a pretty good job.The first team though s**t! Downing 20 million what?? his form has blown hot and cold since he set out as a pro we ll be lucky to get two hot years out of the five we ll keep him. Adam a squad player at best. Henderson potential for the future but a bloody expensive gamble bearing in mind saurez cost 4 million more. suarez and enrique have been pretty good moves but we need to be bringing in world class not honest average. The scary thing is, is that i reckon kenny does have funds but is choosing not to use them

Ed is there anything in the defo rumours, i think he would be a good signing he is always looking to find a bit of space and get a shot in at goal and he can make goals out of nothing , obviously not woth 20million though but I think he is the type if player we need plus with Carroll n suarez young he's got experience {Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any confirmed interest, but am sure something could be done if there was.}

19 Jan 2012 09:51:37
Hi Eds, whats this i'm hearing about Marko Marin, do you know if we've taken a look at him /shown any interrest ? {Ed002's Note - AC Milan, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs, Napoli, Juventus, Arsenal and Roma have all shown an interest in Marko Marin in the past. In respect of a move to Liverpool, much will depend on whether or not Liverpool make the Champions League as to whether he is a viable option or not; and the summer is a considerable distance away at present. Perhaps Italy is the most likely destination, and I understand his preferred destination. Inter would be favourites.}

Y ed do u keep saying will depend if we make champions league. The way we r going thats not gonna happen we need players now not in the summer??S

S bradford {Ed002's Note - You need to write a Dear Kenny letter and not bleat at me for telling you the truth.}

19 Jan 2012 09:31:43
According to Tim Vickery who covers South American football for the BBC the uruguayan media say we have agreed to sign texeira. Have you heard anything Ed?

{Ed002's Note - Teixeira from Sporting has signed. As for any other players called Teixeira, I really don't know.}

Has he signed already or is he due 2 sign ?

19 Jan 2012 09:29:19
liverpool are set to offer huddersfield town 8.5 million pound for jordan rhodes :0

Cool story, bro.

Huddersfield will not sell in this window and if they do decide to sell in the summer they would ask a lot more than £8.5 mill!

19 Jan 2012 09:23:24
According to the italian press, Inter Milan will loan out Luc Castaignos to Liverpool until the end of the season and have the option to buy him in the summer. What do you make of this?

Wasn't this what Macca reported..?

19 Jan 2012 09:23:16
morning all, just to let you know what i have heard! we definately enquired about deofe, bent and granero and commolli was in london yesterday (so make of that what you will!) and for the summer nathan dyer, joe allen and tiote! ynwa

scousedel

Granero was playing for Madrid yesterday so I doubt he was in London {Ed002's Note - There has been no approach by Liverpool for Granero. Only solid interest at this time has been from Blackburn Rovers and Sevilla but nothing more than unsubstantiated rumours have linked him to Liverpool and Espanyol.}

So we will be getting Granero, Allen, and Tiote? I guess we'll just throw out our current midfield completely.

19 Jan 2012 09:17:35
will liverpool evr sign a good striker this january? thnx eds plz rpl great site {Ed002's Note - "Good" is subjective of course but I expect that the club will sign a striker.}

No they wont, dont think dalglish can see very well.. otherwise yes we woul dof brought a goal scorer.

19 Jan 2012 09:17:19
Hi Everyone,

I mentioned yesterday that were going to be looking at Mehmet Ekici from Werder Bremen and also Kadlec of Sparta Paha (which fellow posters made their thoughts clear about). Just wanted to know if anybody has seen Ekici play? And if there is any background information on the player. Ed's and posters, any info would be apreciated. Cheers guys, and also on the Sow situation. Do you think any interest has been quashed for now due to the African cup of nations? And any interest if there is any will be reknewed in teh summer? (thats if Fenerbache dont make there move sooner)

Many Thanks

Adzii {Ed002's Note - Sow is certainly back in Europe at the moment and Liverpool would need to move quickly or he will complete a move to Fenerbahce.}

19 Jan 2012 09:14:24
Anything happening this morning Eds? Medicals, talks, or bids? {Ed002's Note - I am sure Twitter will fire up soon with sightings of Cavani at Mellwood.}

19 Jan 2012 09:08:52
French media are reporting that sow as agreed terms with fenerbahce but he wants to move to liverpool. But liverpool are not willing to match fenerbahces offer and they will discuss his future today. So eds my question is have we made an offer of any sort?

Cheers
mighty reds {Ed002's Note - Not as far as I am aware.}

19 Jan 2012 09:02:00
i think we should sign marco reus and kevin de bryune..both players would come cheap and are good players {Ed002's Note - REus is moving to Dortmund and De Bruyne is far from cheap which is what has delayed his move.}

Do Liverpool have first option on De bruyne ed because of the connection with Liverpool and Genk.

Corkpoolred {Ed002's Note - No.}

19 Jan 2012 08:56:28
With Daniel Sturridge getting increasingly frustrated at the lack of game time as a centre forward(his preferd position). Do you think liverpool could make a cheeky bid ? he would be great for us. Any thoughts.

YNWA...Rabbit93 {Ed002's Note - It is not going to happen.}

19 Jan 2012 08:16:42
Hi eds and reds.

Someone put on twitter (I know it's not reliable) that jermaine Defoe had handed in a transfer request. Just wondering if you know anymore on this or it's origin.

Just asking coz I think he'd do what we need at the minute and I'm not interested in spouting out 'top' players' names as I honestly don't believe we're in the best situation to attract these types of players with champions league.

Great work. Would love to know your sources! Haha. I secretly hope you're Stevie G and King Kenny and just tell us if we're hot or cold in a roundabout way. Haha

Cheers

Mike {Ed002's Note - I cannot comment about random messages on Twitter - sorry.}

19 Jan 2012 08:05:19
Hi eds
Any update on david texeira? Heard a bid was put in last night or this morning jowever groningen are rumoured to want a large sell on clause?

Thanks

Mac {Ed002's Note - I am sorry but I know nothing of this.}

19 Jan 2012 07:48:40
Have to say, I'm delighted with the signing of the young Portuguese player.
Could do with signing one or two more of Sporting's youth players.
Their regular numbers 9 & 10 looked class against our U - 19 players in The Next Gen Series too.
But now we need a goalscorer asap, maybe two?!
Come on KK!!!

19 Jan 2012 07:42:25
Tim Vickery confirms Liverpool interest in David Texeira during Talksport interview - can be heard on Talksport site!

Oh right, and Tim Vickery is Kenny's right hand man. So it must be true.

19 Jan 2012 07:33:30
Listening talksport last night and there was a lot of talk about Liverpool making an official bid for Darren Bent in the next few days, is there any truth at all in this eds? {Ed002's Note - We don't know, sorry.}

19 Jan 2012 06:03:44
Hey Eds.

I am getting a little frustated (and worried too) There has been so much speculation and so many names linked to us. very little progress until now. I know the Jan Transfer Window is little tricky. But we know our problems up front. And without Suarez we looked toothless last week.
Owners have been fantastic but they must be aware of the financial gains if we get champions league football next year.
We have to spend immediately on good players.
Any chance of getting a striker anytime soon?
{Ed002's Note - It is impossible to say when transfers will be completed, but do not expect a massive spending spree.}

Yeh, with Suarez out, we defintely were toothless!

Come on, its at 79300ish, we NEED 100000 by TOMORROW in order for a motion in the house of commons on whether there should be a debate about it. just 21000ish to go. Tell EVERYONE, this is surely how democracy works If we cannot fulfill this one duty of ours to discover the truth for one more hillsborough victim then what kind of people are we in this country, are we just to believe everything the government says from now on?

And this is BIGGER much bigger than football club rivalry, we should be posting this on the forums of ALL clubs, INCLUDING MUFC boards, that's how we would hope that we would react to such an injustice that befell them, by helping them in their time of need, so why shouldn't they help us.

Anyway, just 20,000 to go!! YNWA, we MUST do this. post the link everywhere.

This took me 1 minute. DO IT.

merka.

Have signed this, but have been so moved by the amount of people ranging from TV people to other football players posting on twitter about this petition, I just hope it gets enough so justice can be done.

Is at 84k

Did it yesterday, only takes a minute but you have to check your email to register your signing. Very easy operation from anywhere in the world.

Up to 86500 now, keep signing!

I think that the eds have done everything that they can do regarding the publicising of this petition. if everyone signed up for this instead of posting silly rumours just for today we would hit the mark needed. Thanks to all who have allredy signed up for this and keep spreading the word untill the very last moment. cheers robbie

Ed do u think theres a good chance of us getting cavani {Ed002's Note - Cavani who?}

No it doesn't need an ed to tell you that, use your common sense!!

I dont see why not

We are signing Edward Cavani, brother of Edinson. Edward has a nickname of El Meat eater.

Hey Eds and Macca, great site again and we all appreciate the work you guys put in. I just was wondering, we are almost half way through the transfer window and we have not made any big splashes yet in the transfer window. Are LFC actively looking to add impact players like Suarez or anyone who can be a part of the first team right away this window for goals or will that be left for the summer pending our achievements (i.e Champions League or Europa).

With the obvious disappointments from the Stoke game has this send FSG, DC, and KK into a more aggressive buying mode. I know you can't speculate on players, but if there was a big signing, would it be the a striker or midfielder. We are down midfielders, with Lucas, Meireles, Aquilani, and Cole all gone and no replacements in site. Our only other strikers besides Suarez and Carroll are Kuyt (Declining and losing a step as seen in the Stoke game) and Bellamy (Great pace, but is being used in the wing).

We need both, but I would settle for one impact player in the position instead of a mediocre player in both positions.

Harry the Red {Ed002's Note - I am not soi sure the big splashes will come.}

Thanks Eds, I appreciate the response. Could you provide a list of players we are possibly interested it in. Hopefully this will end all of the Higuain, Hazard, Cavani rumours that are clogging up the blog. Thanks.

Harry the Red {Ed002's Note - Search for the round up.}

Afraid your maths is letting you down there Harry. It's over halfway through now.
