hi eds just wondering would there be any chance of us signing sergio aguero he would be a great signing for us to replace suarez

Believable14 Unbelievable104

{Ed002's Note - Zero.}

Fifa 15 isn't out tll September

Agree21 Disagree0

He is going to play the first half for man city scoring two, swap kits at half time and become Liverpool player and score a hat trick so we win 3-2.

Agree7 Disagree1

Why not ed

Don't think it's a bad shout

Agree2 Disagree7

{Ed002's Note - Give me a break.}

It's not going to happen right now mate, but I'm pretty sure I read something about him being an LFC fan as a Kid, so I could hypothetically see him looking to us near the end of his career.

Agree1 Disagree13

In never never land maybe.

Agree6 Disagree1

Who in their right mind classified that post as believable?

No no no no no, where do you guys dream up these absurd ideas?
Even if Aguero wanted to half his wages and play for a club who is finding its Champions feet and title ambitons again as opposed to the most talented side in the league, why would Manchester City sell their top striker to a rival?
Just think things through before you waste our time with these moronic ideas!
Yes we would all love Kun Aguero, but common sense prevails here, never going to happen.

Agree4 Disagree4

Waste our time? How long did it take you to read that post? 30 seconds? I bet it took twice as long for you to reply. Even if we don't have a chance to sign Aguero, which we do not, there is no need gang up on the poster. It seems we all support the same club, so perhaps we should support each other and be civil, no?

Agree4 Disagree0

Agreed Jack Straw

Agree0 Disagree0

Been waiting for that rumour about kun to appear

Agree1 Disagree0

We already have Ken Aguero and his lucky pants
Ken won us more games than Kun did for city last season

Fabio Borini has rejected Sunderland's offer and he has told Brendan Rodgers that he wants to remain at Liverpool.

Eds do you think he has yet to make a decision then? Do you expect him to move?

Agree6 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - How the hell would I know. Please stop asking these rubbish questions.}

Di Marzio reporter for Sky Italia reported it, also initially reported the bid from Sunderland.

Though I read he rejected it in hope of a move to a big Serie A club. Hope Borini stays and we forgo Remy.

Agree5 Disagree3

Unfortunately remy scores goals borini doesnt. I like borini but that's the facts.

Agree8 Disagree2

Remi is a much better forward than borini hope he goes but 14m would be a great deal

Agree8 Disagree0

Remy should come in regardless of what happens to Borini. No need to buy an extra striker then and we can concentrate on defense. Hope Origi comes in next season as well.

Ed's has Liverpool ever shown any interest in Bayern's LB Diego Contento? Alaba is their first choice and they just signed young Bernat from Valencia then they have CB/LB Badstuber back from injury. Contento could well be available. If not us is there anyone else interested? Despite his injury problems he is only 24 and has impressed me when he's stayed fit.

Thanks

Question for Eds001

Just asking if you know any update on the out going players excluding Borini and Assaidi. Is there any one else you know of looking for a move or us trying to move on? Cheers mate

Believable6 Unbelievable4

{Ed001's Note - I have nothing new, still no fee agreed on Assaidi, due to his fitness issues.}

What fitness issues does he have, apart from his lightweight build?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - injuries.}

19 Jul 2014 14:09:22
Ed's, I thought we sold borini? But he's in the team to play Preston? What's going on?

Believable11 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - only agreed a fee so far mate, not gone yet.}

Eds001

Just a quick question regarding our RB position

You mentioned a few weeks back that QPR were interested in Glen Jonno

Is he up for sale? And has there been any further communication between the players and clubs agents / reps?

If he does go, will we be in the market for a new RB or does BR see Jon Flanno making that position his own?

Also Eds, what's your opinion of Harry Redknapp and his overzealous loose lips in his press conferences?

He connected Remy to LFC yesterday ( hence the red top rags jumping all over it today) and its not the first time he has done it. he sounds more like greedy agent than a professional football manager

Do you think, in your opinion he should be more discrete and professional in these conferences, or do you think more managers should be more open in conferences

It's certainly not the Liverpool way and it annoyed the hell out of me yesterday when he blurted out what he did. talk all you wish about your own club and players, but we conduct our business behind closed doors and I felt he had no right to say what he did

ssn almost make it a part of there deadline day programme to see who Harry has signed at 23:59. it's turned into bit of a joke IMO

Thanks in advance for you opinion Eds001

Believable12 Unbelievable10

{Ed001's Note - Johnson is up for grabs and has been for years. No one has shown interest until 'Arry did this summer. As for opinion of Arry, can't stand him, that is all I have to say on the man. Oh and Johnson needs no replacing, we have lots of RBs.}

Eds I'm with you mate, I can't stand him either to be honest, he comes across as more of a more of a wide boy than a professional football manager

I agree with the RB position too, we have an abundance of talent in Flanno, Kelly and Wisdom and wouldn't think it be right if we bought in that position.

Thanks for your thoughts eds

Agree1 Disagree1

I have to disagree, I don't think either wisdom or kelly is good enough for replace glen. if glen is sold then I think a new rb is needed. but flannagan I fancy but I think he is better on the left cause I like it when he cuts in and create better alternatives for him self there rather on the right. so I hope we not going to sell glen and replace him with what we have. flanno enrique on LB and glen and perhaps a new RB or put flanno and glen to compete and a new LB to compete with enrique. think it would be good for wisdom and go wba on a season loan and perhaps somthing likewise for kelly or sold, sorry.

Agree2 Disagree2

Ed001, we've had our disagreements but we definitely seem to have similar feelings about certain people in football.
With that in mind what do you think of my suggestion earlier that we could/should be interested in Lukaku?

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - god no. His first touch is awful and his attitude stinks. I would rather we steer well clear of him.}

I think neither Wisdom nor Kelly have been given a real opportunity to show whether they are good enough. Kelly due to injury and Wisdom due to loans and lack of opportunity.

I think both, Wisdom especially, could be very good indeed, but need to be given a chance.

With Flanno, Wisdom, Kelly and McLaughlin coming through, there are more than enough options for RB if Johnson goes.

Agree1 Disagree0

It's a perfect example and opportunity to give our Acadamey lads a chance under the guidance of BR like he has done with Sterling and Flanno

Wisdom maybe not quite ready yet and agree a season long loan would be his best option

We are actively in the market already for a LB so Flanno won't be an option for first choice, although he may need to cover in terms of injuries and form

But Kelly can certainly cover RB, Jonhsons defending is woeful sometimes

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree we have well enough good braking through mclaughlin wisdom kelly flanno all good in my opinion maybe more flanno and mclaughlin for me like

Agree0 Disagree0

Can I just add to the 'Arry comments

The only time he made me smile was when he was giving a interview at Tottenhams training ground with tv. and one of the young lads volleyed the ball off the side of his ugly head.

Priceless

Agree2 Disagree0

Johnson needs to be got rid of asap. And afraid I don't agree with the rest of you on the RB situation as Wisdom is not good enough and Kelly for me should be given a pop at centre back. That would leave us with Flanagan so we would need to buy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, I'm surprised to hear that Lukaku has a bad attitude I wasn't aware of that

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - not a bad attitude, a big time attitude, thinks he has already made it. He is nowhere near good enough yet.}

Flanno should just be our first choice right back period - he was excellent last season as LB and if nothing else deserves a chance to cement the RB position for himself. As ed says though plenty of other RB's in our squad - how is Mclaughlin doing? I know he had an injury set back a while ago but is he developing as expected? I remember he was touted as a potential first teamer like so would be nice if he could make the set-up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed you sound like Mourinho, wouldn't you say 32 in 2 premiership seasons is good enough?
How many of our forwards can you see out scoring him this season?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Lukaku is not going because of Mourinho but because of something else entirely.}

Wisdom going out on loan and kelly fitness record can't be trusted so if johnson does go micah richards will have to come in or a new right back as cover for flanaghan

Agree0 Disagree0

If Johnson goes then i'd like to see Micah Richards come in, would have preferred Janmaat but that is history.

QPR and Liverpool agree £8.5m fee for Loic Remy. The striker has been given permission to speak with Liverpool

More talk of remy joining Liverpool on ssn again today, Any substance ed? Also is it just me that thinks this could b a great signing for us!

Joecfc88

Believable40 Unbelievable14

{Ed001's Note - I don't know mate sorry.}

Hate people being overly negative about players but really do not see this as positive. Think Borini is easily as good and has better attitude.
We like players at lfc who fight for things and remy for me is not that man

Agree1 Disagree2

They're saying we've agreed a fee of £8.5m. Borini for £12m+ add ons to Sunderland and Remy+ Lambert for £12.5 is ridiculous business for Liverpool!

Agree2 Disagree0

Borini has prooved himself to be a good player buy just doesn't fit in with our style of play. Remy is all about speed and counter attacking and so should work well for us.

Agree2 Disagree0

Have to agree mate, cracking bit of business. Current French International for £8.5M is a bargain. Excellent player as well, guarantees goals, unlike Borini sadly.

Agree2 Disagree0

19 Jul 2014 13:36:50
Is everyone forgetting what we paid for borini in the first place? I liked the guy and wish him all the best

Agree3 Disagree0

Shrewd purchase because of the supposed clause. Also I read an unconfirmed quote that Remy has always wanted to play at Liverpool. hopefully this enthusiasm can remedy my worries about his work rate and he'll work hard for the team that is giving him a big chance to make it at a big club!

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Jul 2014 08:03:54
Eds can you answer me a question?

Lots of people on here saying Borini deal is done. Has it been finalised with exception perhaps of medical?

Personally I understand we need money but think its a shame as rate him. Perfect attitude, works hard, scores goals and seems to have real passion to win.

Anyway, thanks for all your hard work

Believable19 Unbelievable15

{Ed001's Note - the offer has been accepted, Borini hasn't accepted, or hadn't accepted last night anyway, their offer. I do expect he will take it though.}

19 Jul 2014 08:38:43
He's a good lad but strikers are paid to score goals and unfortunatly he just doesn't score enough. To get 14m and replace with Remy for 8m makes sense to me, we have lost 31 goals plus assists from one man.

Agree2 Disagree1

Scores goals? Not for LFC he didn't. Yes he works hard but as last fan states strikers are paid to score goals an unfortunately borini doesn't.

Agree2 Disagree0

He hardly got a chance at LFC? He scored some vital goals for sunderland and was a big reason they stayed up.
he may not bag 30 goals but if you look at the goals he did score for Sunderland he made many of the for himself. Given good through balls by better and more creative players that we have he would be very good and score far more IMO

Agree4 Disagree0

I agree I like boring and wish him well if it goes through but if we do get £14m I'd activate bony release clause rather than buy Remy

Agree3 Disagree0

It seems this has developed very quickly, One minute he's on the tour, next we've accepted a bid for him! The ends always said if an offer of 10 mil or above comes in we would accept it, well done!
