We're now being linked with a bid for Mario Gotze of Munich. Reports via Telegraph newspaper.

Surely not true?

Believable10 Unbelievable43

{Ed002's Note - Exciting times ahead it seems. Should be able to link up well with Reus and Lacazette.}

19 Jul 2015 17:13:13
Hmm is that sarcasm Ed? :D

Haha hope we can nip in the front of the queue for Pogba too

19 Jul 2015 17:24:07
Perhaps we could do a swap deal. one Mario for another?

Hi eds was wondering apart from luke garbett before he signed a contract do we have any interest in a left back. I feel Moreno needs some competition for his place and Enrique just isn't good enough.

Believable0 Unbelievable5

{Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of.}

19 Jul 2015 15:17:49
Digne maybe

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No.}

19 Jul 2015 16:48:03
Do you think we may use one of the u21 players to be used as competition?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Or Gomez or Can at LB, or Markovic or Lallana at LWB?}

19 Jul 2015 16:48:36
Maybe Gomez?

19 Jul 2015 17:16:19
On this subject, is Enrique leaving? I saw something on the 'this is Anfield' Facebook page saying he was on his way out. Not sure on the reliability but was hoping the eds had some information on this?

{Ed002's Note - Try asking on Facebook or Twitter.}

19 Jul 2015 17:42:00
Haha should have expected that but to be fair if you are aware of the Facebook group I am talking about, they do tend to try and report relatively accurate information. The Facebook page is just a way of sharing from their actual website. But yea I agree and didn't expect it to be true. Thanks Ed

{Ed002's Note - I know nothing of Facebook aside from their being an Ed002 Appreciation Society (which I have never seen) - www.facebook.com/pages/Ed002-Appreciation-Society/295138177203666

But we are not here to answer questions about stuff you see on Facebook or Twitter or whatever.}

19 Jul 2015 19:44:26
What about flanagan? Before getting injuried he looked ok at LB and always gave 100% can you see him being used when he recovers or not? Thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - when/if he recovers, he will need to get back to form first. That is almost certainly not this season.}

19 Jul 2015 21:40:37
I'm telling you Ed, Neil Taylor ;)

21 Jul 2015 02:48:10
What about brad smith??

{Ed001's Note - he is likely to leave.}

Local news is reporting that a three year deal has been agreed in principle for Lambert to join Middlesbrough,

Heard anything Ed's??

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Not about Middlesbrough. There has been a little interest from elsewhere and he is available, so perhaps.}

19 Jul 2015 13:36:44
I would think 3 years is a stretch for a 33 year old

He's going to the Baggies. Borini may go to Boro

HLN journalist Kristof Terreur has reported "Everything is settled between Aston Villa and Liverpool on the £32.5m deal for Christian Benteke. Medical has been planned for Monday."

Not sure why you are doubting this! It is in Metro, who rightly point out that he is valued at 49m and we just sold Sterling for the same sum!!!! So it is obvious that with the two sums matching this must be true!!!!😅

Yet more news on the kids that are being brought in for the academy.

17 year old Taiwo Awoniyi looks set to join LFC in August when he turns 18 and will be eligible to sign a contract.

Monaco and FC Porto have been in the hunt for the strikers signature but LFC have a verbal agreement he will come to us just after his birthday.

Very good player. Big, strong, fast and can shoot with either foot. Watched him at the U17 WC where he and Iheanacho (City) lit it up as well as at this year's U2 WC where he also scored goals. Not too shabby, IMO.

I know it was a typo but that didn't stop me imagining what an U2 World Cup would look like.

Quite a lot of handballs I'd imagine.

Eds, is benteke holding out for CL or will he sign for us. Not asking for opinions but asking for your knowledge as in what u guys know of the situation.

Thanks guys. Love this site by the way I check it dayley.

Much love!!

Believable2 Unbelievable5

{Ed001's Note - I fully expect the deal to be done.}

19 Jul 2015 08:42:21
Ed1, if you're saying you expect the deal to go through then we all know it is virtually a done deal, & don't doubt it.

However, is there any substance to The Mirror's story - would Benteke prefer/ have preferred to move to a CL club?

Very disappointing if so, but I suppose players are not about loyalty to their club these days. Shame there aren't more fans of the club (like Lambert) playing the game.

Thanks as always,

Rob.

Ed2, apologies, have revisited search engine and not found a clear answer?

From what I have read through the search engine it sounds like his agent is always looking for a move for the player, to progressively bigger and bigger clubs? Does this answer my question? Worrying if so, but not entirely surprised.

Would you be able to post the link/rumour number to the particular thread you allude to?

Would be grateful.

Ta,

Rob

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know where you are getting any of this from. It just seems like yet another Liverpool fan trying to scaremonger the other fans - he has been absolutely trashed by the Liverpool fans here already - and I feel very sorry for him. One wonders if he will arrive to the daubed abuse on the stadium, or the Benteke out Facebook pages.

I have no idea what the Daily Mirror has said but have explained that the deal is expected to go through later this week.

We really can't be bothered to keep answering the same questions over and over again. It is extremely tedious for the Editors.}

20 Jul 2015 09:08:25
This is really not fair Eds, I've been pasted in the replies here and my two replies have not been posted.

I really don't think my comments were deserving of the treatment I received, and I've not been afforded the chance to reply.

Love the site and will continue to use it but I am disappointed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The only posts of yours that have been deleted are your repeatedly asking the same question - one that has been answered.

We don't have time for that sort of thing.}

20 Jul 2015 13:10:10
That is simply not true, and if my responses had been posted that would have been evident for all to see.

I am asking what the player wants, not where he will go. I cannot find the answer, and it appears that I am not the only one.

I am not against Benteke as you suggest, and I have said as much previously - yet I don't get the chance to share that because it contradicts the light in which you have endeavoured to cast me.

You say you don't know where I am "getting this from", and when I reply with the link to the info it is not posted/addressed.

You cast me in a negative light and I am not afforded my say in return. That's just not fair.

I know the tone of some responses by the eds has been touched on before & if you want the site to grow and succeed then may I (humbly) suggest that, whilst you must of course disregard the pure abuse, you should engage with reasonable questions on their own merits. I assume these sites are a commercial enterprise as much as anything else, & as such customer service has surely got to be a consideration?

Why not simply post a "rumour number" so we might easily find the relevant thread rather than the harsh words that are dished out instead? That must be a preferable alternative for you & for us?

Several of us have been on the receiving end of these harsh words by the Eds, & if the Eds don't like abuse themselves then who are they to dish out comments like "LFC has the worst fans in the world" which is distasteful to say the least & again - really not fair. Reciprocity works thus, after all. We are not asking to be treated like princesses, but we don't want to be pasted by the Eds, either.

To overcome all this, perhaps the site could be better organised into threads, each with a heading pertaining to a particular player or subject which would be easier to reference & therefore require less questions to be answered. Trying to find an answer on here, even using the search function can be like finding the proverbial needle in the proverbial haystack.

Frankly, I am fed up with reading some of the comments from the eds, & occasionally being subjected to them. Surely there must be a better way?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - tell you what, problem solved, none of us will ever reply to your crap again. The site would be better off if you just didn't try telling everyone else what to do, and did not subject us with repeat questions. As for the link, it got swallowed by the spam filters as useless crap. We don't need links to know what was being said it crap. You keep asking dumb questions about things that have been aswered and now you want to whinge about the reply. You think we need your advice on how to run a website? You think you know better go start your own, because I do not need you to tell me what to do. We have our reasons why it is run like that and your suggestions are not new to us. I am so sick of know it alls who think they know better than we do because they have read a few sites. Go whinge somewhere else. Somewhere that will be happy replying 40 times to the same stupid question asked in a hundred different ways by you because you won't bother reading the answer and actually taking the time to understand.}

20 Jul 2015 14:01:10
This response just highlights my point. I was only trying to offer an alternative that would work for everyone, and make your lives easier in the process.

Ed2 asked where I was getting the info, and I replied - how is it inappropriate to send the link then? Seeing it was previously posted here by someone else, so couldn't have been so "crap", after all?

No-one is telling you what to do, we are just offering a suggestion based on our interactions on this site. This is the only site I read by and large, it is the only of its kind & the overall idea is unique - with a captivated audience, like me.

However, maybe you should take heed of these suggestions then? Didn't someone say "insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results"? You keep complaining that people keep asking the same questions - maybe rethinking the website format would help?

I run a business - one of our guiding tenets is "you can't always sell what you want to sell, only what people want to buy". It's really not a bad idea.

Anyone reading this I am sure will see these are not unreasonable suggestions and the responses by the eds are really unwarranted.

I want this site to succeed, and far from being a know-it-all I am really trying to help you succeed with what is really a good site, with good content. However the responses by the eds are off putting & may very well cause you to lose followers. I read a question, which I find of interest - only for it to be met with "rtp" "rtfp" "use the search" "this is hopeless" - and by the end I am still no wiser as to the answer - and all these comments by the eds come up again and again when we do use the search function, making it even harder to find the answer.

I am on your side - I, and other readers, don't deserve this kind of response when all we have been is constructive and respectful.

Up to you, really - but it would make my interest in the site wane if things don't change.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it is not constructive, we have tried that crap before and we still get the same repeat question. If your interest wanes, then we will have one less person posting repeat questions making my interest in editing wane. We have no need to look for followers, we get more than enough page views thanks. If we wanted to do that, we would be hit whoring on twatter or other sites. What we need is people like you to stop repeating yourself when the question is already answered, usually in response to your question. Do you really think we have not tried other ways in the last 14 years? Do you think you have shown some insight we have never spotted before? We are not selling anything, we are providing a service you get for free and then bitch about.}
