My dad picked up an agent, no lie simply the truth. He says that sigurddsson will definitely sign but the owners are haggling on the price, lfc will not spend big this summer as they want Rodgers to get the best out of the team he has. Maybe one more signing ie. a striker and dont expect him to be worth over 15 million. I know we all want new players to improve the squad but it seems the owners are simply unwilling to payroll another season of transfers without champions league football. If and IF we do get into the CL then expect marquee signings next season. Until then lets all get behind the squad we Have!!!
SilentRed

You're chatting rubbish about fsg not willing to buy new players... But I do agree that we have a decent squad, especially with BR's tactics I do believe we will do well next season. But we seriously need some wide men to become more effective. krasic is definitely a step in the right direction. And tello would be a dream come true. Next season is looking quite good already.

The owners will back BR, they want CL place next season. They do want value for money, guess we'll be looking at players with potential and who can tactically enhance the squad... doesn't mean we won't spend tho - they'll have to to keep up with the top 4.

You got all of that from one taxi ride... eitha he started flapping his gums the second he got in the taxi or is journey went a long way or and this is most possible ... your a lier?

If thats the case thats cool they will spend once buck has proved himself we know that.and what you said about lets get behind the lads we have.good on ya and well said.whether they are good or bad worth 50 mil or 5 as lfc fans when they slip on that shirt we need to get behind them YNWA.pre season coming up soon BRING EM ON.

Your dad didnt pick up an agent, simple as.

Silent red,you should have kept that quiet

It could be true, I often get into taxi's and pretend to be an football agent, although sometimes I'm a privet eye, once I was a house plant.

Not so sure about the football agent bit however I very much doubt that there will be a lot in the kitty this year. FSG isnt in this to spend spend spend they are a business and as such will already be looking for a return on their already not small investment.
I cat see any thing other than the a few million on maybe one or two players that is unless some of the expensive underperforming expensive imports from last year can be off loaded.
For me the biggest concern is that Carroll will not fit into BRs short passing game nor dare I say will Gerrard where he , with ultimate effect, passes long .
Liverpools squad needs to be re built but many many of the players are too well paid to want away.

I hope our dad and the agent are very happy together

Oh right so Stevie Gee doesn't fit in now.I've already seen enough nutters on here wanting to sell most of the team so let's add Gerrard to that list.Do you seriously think our new manager has sat and watched Stevie in the Euros and thought "better get shut of him he doesn't play the way I like things"! I've got a great idea! Let's sell the entire squad off and build houses on the Anfield site.We might as well reading the drivel so many posters are leaving on the site!

When someone start's a comment by telling us they are not lying..... it usually means they are

I can see the comments regarding how much money is going to be available being true. Thing is though, you often have to speculate to accumulate, as the saying goes. So what happens next season if we don't get into the CL then either? Are FSG only going to invest in building a team based on getting into the CL and where we don't, then no additional transfer funds are made available? Truth is to get into the CL, you need a better squad to begin with. Our Problem is that we are a long way behind many of the others in terms of quality. Hope peoples optimism has some basis in that the current squad may gel better second year out and improve with the addition of a couple of cheapos or cast offs. Slippery slope downwards Im afraid.

Seems like abit of a vicous circle to me... not spending much until they get champions league football, I think we are gonna have to improve some key areas before we get near topp 4 and even then it will be a battle. clealy missing a wide man on the right (possibly 2 if downing carries on from last season) and a great goal poacher/striker. Im not saying youre wrong and im not convinced there gonna splash the cash but if champions league football is what they desire there unfortunatley gonna have to spend quite a bit because majority of last years new signings looked well below top 4 level.

Steve G has been fantastic in the Euros his raking runs and how he has picked a pass has been there for all to see but BR plays from the back and accross the pitch. Stevie G is about energy breaking forward . Not sure anyone has said he should go but he isnt renowed for sideways and back passing .
FSG have spent megga money already and now face spending even more trying to get in the top 4 . So how much is that 40-50 million can anyone really seeig that?

With tottenham sacking rednapp and rumours the like of bale and modric are going nobody has seemed to mention scotty Parker think he's been immense for England so far and was great for tottenham and one of the best partnership I've seen gerrard with :) how much do you think it will take for tottenham to consider thanks eds great site keep up good work :)

Jordan {Ed005's Note - It would take a lot of money for anyone to get him but he won't be at Liverpool.}

He's another one who's massively overrated

His tackling and passing stats don't touch lucas's, a pointless acquisition!

Listen this is getting very very boring, bale has STATED he WILL not be leaving, parker lol hes tottenham since a kid you have no chance, as for modric if he goes or when he goes no worries just as long as the money is right

I must be watching the wrong team

Scott Parker is utter pump, he has been in the running for worst England player with Young all tournament, so what if he dives in front of shot etc, that is his job, why do the English media love such an overrated, sub-par player. He looks lost whenever he has the ball at his feet, Gerrard is constantly having to drop back to help him out which means he is less affective in his role, if he came to us he would be an equal menace. Nowhere near good enough for Liverpool in a possition that is hopefully covered once Lucas comes back, we have mediocre cover for that position in Adam. Spurs can keep him he is cack.

Another error,shouldve got him insteadve adam.Though to be fair think parker was nailed on for Spurs at the time?

You can keep parker he is nearly 40 and not worth anymore more than the 5 pence yous paid for him and he needs a haircut i think im in the 90s anytime i have to look at his fish bowl head -ARRY

Comedy Scotty has me in stitches every time he plays for England, if they compiled all his slow-mo shots from every game, threw in some commentary and a few features, the FA would have a best selling DVD on their hands. As it stands, and the thing about Scotty Parker is it is not often you finding him standing up on a pitch these days, he would have me tearing my hair out if he were pulling the same stunts in a Liverpool shirt. He's definitely not the answer IMO.

England are defending with two banks of four with Gerrard getting cosy with Parker unfortunately due to this.

Certainly not my future.

Isn't he contracted to West Ham still? {Ed001's Note - no, Spurs paid 5.5m for him, roughly.}

U are avin a laff arnt ya !!

Wouldnt want parker ever at lfc.. hes rubbish i dont rate him 1 bit.. and hes a right puff.. nah not for lfc

The manager leaving is no reason to dismantle a good side.from someone who knows no facts,i think its all about keeping the men who were loyal to harrbobs.and at tottenham i think alot of them were.so good point

Thats like saying suarez and gerrard would leave when dalgish was sacked

Parker former player of the year and current england player of the year! and you call him poor? combine that statement along with most of the others about who's joining this ailing club & there you have it, desperate and clueless!

He' slow, he's too old, he's overated and he looks as if his body is about to fail on him. Rubbish and pointless buy. We have Lucas. Id rather Spearing stayed than have him.

Parker has been immense? you have got to be kidding me, he slows the game down way too much, every pass is backwards, and in all honesty he has been found out big time at this tournament so far. He is a southern player well over hyped by southern media who love there own. for the amount of money he earns it is expected of him to put his body on the line, but thats all he does do, no finesse, no creativity, nothing worthy of a liverpool player

To the parker fan who says r club is ailing obviously a spurs fan what have u achieved for all the hype over how great u were playing your in the europa league same as us won nothing unlike us so if its desperate to change the way the club is being run because r league position was not exceptable for a club r size and below the likes of spurs we had to act brought the manager in who the media say u lot wanted and more to the point lucas is back soon so who needs parker any way last he left the south he cried like a baby to go back.

Hey Ed's, I just uploaded a pic of the real 3rd kit to the liverpool sightings page if anyone is interested in getting a look. It is the purple one however I dont think it looks as bad in real life. Plus a little rumour I heard is that we are going after Kerzhakov from Zenit. Any truth to this? Cheers

Levon 69 {Ed016's Note - Thanks for posting the pic. http://www.liverpool-rumours.co.uk/images/3rdkit.jpg . Without a doubt it is miles better than the rumoured one and I told you all the tribal one was fake.}

Thanks, thought it was that horible one on caughtoffside.

lil red {Ed016's Note - Lazy journalism is rampant. Be careful. I knew it was fake as soon as I saw it. }

Its still not nice tho, hope it doesnt have orange shorts

It could be yellow, orange, green, pink and brown all rolled into one. The fact they have put '96' on it seals the deal for me as it being one of the best kits made in Liverpool's history. Terrific tribute to know the players will be on that pitch with the 96 with them all the time.

It still does have tribal pattern on the arms Ed, just doesn't stand out as much as some of the mock ups {Ed001's Note - I actually love it myself, though it is not as nice as the home kit, which is lovely.}

Got a feeling that is just a training top, on the club shop there is a white version of this under training wear, also it's not on sale yet, yet it is wherever that is

The home kit is cool, the others suck soooooooo bad.

If we had all black with red letters with thin white outline, that would look amazing.
Pascal colours look s**te

So when is the 3rd shirt officially revealed/released?

I think they're all smart, probs the best ones ive ever seen for Liverpool.. personal opinion like

It looks like another fake mate, look at the second purple kit behind the first one, it has a purple collar and not one that is yellow or orange.

Karl

Sorry everyone your actually all wrong. The tribal kit is a design for 2013-2014. My source is very high up in warriors management team.

I think all of our new kits are easily the ugliest we've had since the mid 90's.

daniel agger would welcome a new contract deal if liverpool offerd him one !

"It's no secret that I'm happy to be in Liverpool. Otherwise, I would not have been there for six years"

"I have not [discussed a new contract] but if they come with an offer I will surely sit down and talk with them.

"It's not something that is urgent, for I have contract until 2014, but if they ask I will listen.

"I am looking forward to meeting the new coach. I've seen what he has done at Swansea, and it has been impressive."

so this is great news for liverpool as he is our best defender !

lw12 {Ed016's Note - Love to hear that from Danny. Always knew he could be something special if he stayed clear of injuries. Lots more still to come from him.}

Dan Agger a true pro In a world of spoilt brats and mugs
Mike G

Oh yes, that means i can still put his name on my jersey this year!

Kaizer

I suspect it's more likely that he realises with his injury record he'd best start hinting for a new contract sooner rather than later, which with a new manager is probably something his agent has told him is best to do. Just being cynical I guess, still love him as a player.

Montpellier's Bedimo is set to announce that he has agreed terms with Liverpool on Friday.

Just watched him on YouTube. Looks like a very exciting prospect if this is true. Plays on left so Downing will spend a lot of time on d bench. Hope it is true.

I'm French, and I can tell you that Bedimo is an average and over-rated player... He has just done one good season with Montpellier, and was not so good with average french clubs. Trust me, 6 goal in 232 appearances...

Sounds perfect for us then with our legendary scouting system

Bedimo's a left back so shouldn't be judged on how many goals he scores...

Sceptical. He has just turned 28.

Tarka

LB doesn't seem like a position of need AT ALL for us. Just doesn't make sense.

liverpool have supposedly opened talks with CSKA over Seydou Doumbia :) would be a great signing.

Risky signing but potentially better than gervinho.

I heard this guy could 50 years old or something like that.

Hes 24-25

Seems a bit fast for 50

There is a problem with his age though no body seems to no an lets admit he is one shot out 25 year old haha

"I heard this guy could 50 years old or something like that."

- story from 2010:

Ahead of last year's Under-17 World Cup in, as it happened, Nigeria, the governing body announced that players would be subjected to wrist scans using magnetic resonance imaging, and this would determine their true age.

That led some countries to undertake precautionary scans beforehand. The results were never announced, but Nigeria suddenly discarded 15 squad members, while Gambia omitted 11 of the 18 who had helped them to victory in the African Under-17 championship a few months earlier. Reports claim that retrospective analyses of the previous three Under-17 World Cups showed more than a third of all players were too old.

Seydou doumbia is the greatest player ever

He's sick in football manager, which im guesing where your basing your opinion from

19 Jun 2012 18:03:06
best player at euro 12 moutinho of portugal on his way to anfield,perfect player for brendans style of football

19 Jun 2012 18:02:30
Eds any chance of Mateo Kovačić of zagreb and what would the price we were looking at if available? Secondly heard a rumour were looking at another brazilian full back gabriel silva of novara to compete with enrique how wide of the mark would this be?

Cheers

RedTillDead. {Ed005's Note - I think Kovavic would cost a lot of money but have heard nothing about Liverpool interest however that's not to say there is none. He is being watched by some top teams around Europe at the moment.}

Kovacic is a free in the summer

Hi eds, heard Aquilani is willing to stay if he gets the right opportunities.. Is this just media speculation {Ed005's Note - I can't see him staying personally.}

Hopefully not
Not worth a place in the team
5uarezTimes

Whats the right opportunities ???

If he stays fine , Im not fussed anymore hes got a lot to prove and a hell of a lot more answer for IMO f....d Liverpool about something terrible

Nobody has mentioned David Villa? I believe we were interested in him last season.
But I believe his price and current injury may see us off. Any ideas on this?

Has been mentioned before but the chance or getting David villa is quite low as i think he wants to stay at barca

Not going to happen

Not gonna happen mate

Dont think this would be a great bit of buisness for us unless we could get him on a loan deal with his value being based on his performance epl is tough especially if your born and raised in spain thats why torres was so special for us

He has been mentioned, and no he won't be joining

No chance of us being able to attract someone like Villa...we need to be realistic with our transfer targets. After all, we did finish 7th last year and have no champs league football to offer these big names

Too old

Never going to happen ,
more chance Rangers pay HMRC

Sigurdsson deal is done pending a medical. £8.3mill

Slider

How do you know this? {Ed016's Note - He doesn't}

Heard manchester united are interested in him now. deal done pending medical is rubbish

Okay first off how do you know this
next it wont be that much about 7 million

Wait and see and (Ed 16) I do know. {Ed005's Note - You are stating what everyone knows - that Sigurdsson will be an LFC player soon.}

ED doesnt know anything......he's just another footie fan who's just blabbering...

I though it was *.3 million euros he has been in liverpool unsure if deal is done

19 Jun 2012 16:59:36
I would be very surprised if Glenn Johnson is sold, i know that Rodgers thinks he is a fantastic player and he fits in with the system that he will try and introduce..

Also i have no news at all on signings..

Cheers

Macca

Cheers mate, thanks for the info.
huddz red

Firstly it's been a while Macca (can tell it's you because you always put two dots instead of three..)...

Secondly I Need some transfer tips!

Thirdly... What do you think of Johnson? I think he's average at best and cost England two goals so far in the Euro's.

Cheers as always,

RobbehLFC.

Hi Macca, do think there is the possibility of Rodgers playing a 5-3-2 system like the italians. It struck me the other day that it might work quite well with a three of coates, skrtel and agger and johnson and enrique as wing backs.

Thanks for update macca.

neostat

Nice 1 Macca for update m8 YNWA
Lfc linc

Wow, macca is alive, we can call off the hounds, phew! Ha

Look forward to the updates!

Eds is this the real macca? Surprised he never mentioned sugurdsson {Ed005's Note - I imagine so or it wouldn't have got through. And so what if he didn't? I think he would be stating the obvious mate so no point really.}

To the guy asking about formations, from what I've read and seen of BR it will be a 1-4-3-3 with the wide defs playing as high as possible, a central mid sitting a little deeper than the other two. The front 3 will have 1 central forward and 2 inside fowards, one on each wing. ofcoarse when we have the ball most players in midfield and upfront are interchangeable. This will all need to be assuming the squad is capable or he finds the players he feels he needs. Personally i can see him being pretty pleased with are starting keeper/defence also 5 or 6 more of the squad mids/forwards are good enough to adapt quickly.

Markolfc

Cheers macca never got to thank you I won a bundle on Rodgers appointment cheers thanks 2 your info .using it 2 go over and c few games this season ynwa rigg10(Wexford red)

I don't think this is Macca he usually writes with a space between each sentence but maybe reading to much into it.

Square tomato {Ed016's Note - We make sure that doesn't happen}

Thanks macca. i personally hope he stays. he was really good for us going forward last year.
derryred

Once again proves the EDS talk out of their arse. {Ed016's Note - Once again we give our opinions and try to be helpful and we always just get abuse. If you're only going to post this kind of abuse then I will just insure you can't post anything.}

Up wexford!!
Oylegate red

To the cretin dishing out abuse,
The eds said he was available if there would b a decent bid and that was before BR took over. So wind ur neck in saaaan!!;)

Jason {Ed016's Note - Since Rodgers has come in I have known absolutely nothing solid on transfers bar perhaps Glyfi. I don't think any business is being done until after the Euros. I believe the competition is being scouted heavily. }

Thx for the great news Macca! I'm happy to see you have no transfer news as it's evidence that the club is keeping business tightly locked up. Hip hip hooray for the Liverpool Way! Azkop

Thank god Macca is back

Jpow_LFC

Glenn johnsons been 1of englands best players at the euros an is 1 of liverpools best players why do people get on his back? any big club would welcome johnson into their team

Up offaly

Ski

Editors. Why take any heed of immature posters like the one that just posted up above me. There is only a handfull on this site that do that. Well from what i see anyway. I visit this site multiple times a day and i like many others greatly appreciate all the work you do so let a couple of A Holes like that one irritate you guys.

Cheers
BLANCO7 {Ed001's Note - actually hundreds of posts an hour are like that, we just delete most of them.}

Glen Johnson's been average? Have you watched the Euros recently ? Personally the average players I've seen are young & Milner

Of course Glen Johnson will not be sold. The only persons reporting rumours or opinions of Johnson leaving are the EDs on this site.
Johnson was never going to leave in my opinion.

Husni

All Man U players are so average in the Euros including Rooney, just a lucky goal without contributing much, poor touch and decision.

19 Jun 2012 16:30:22
Hello Eds! Saw a topic on RAWK about Fabio Borini - a Roma striker. Apparently worked with Rodgers during the promotion season. Is it anything substantial? Thank you! {Ed002's Note - I would doubt Borini would wish to return to England. He left Chelsea because they would not give him commitments about the number of games he would play and his ownership would need sorting out. Has to be doubtful at best.}

Thanks for the quick reply.

19 Jun 2012 15:21:43
Local press over here stating that Liverpool are interested in a few Celtic players, Ki Waynama and Forrest?? Not sure to believe this but have the eds heard anything with regards these moves. {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

Seems unreal but there is a lad over here that seems to get the scoops. Had called Enrique signing a couple of months before it happened. Also saying that Everton are looking at Hooper

Actually think Hooper's not to shabby him and Jelavic could be dangerous ,
As for the other 2 cant see it ,
Im sure Kenny had tabs kept on Forrest but hes away now so its anyone's guess .

Is there any chance in Alonso returning to Anfield this summer?

My understanding is that Modric will be joining R.Madrid, and is seen as the long term replacement for Xabi. Xabi will play on for one more season at Madrid and will then be available, if we are to lodge a bid then is yet to be seen. This summer, however, a move is most unlikely

All Eds have no fear, Ive got this one. NO NO and NO

SteLFC

Probably 100%. After winning La Liga and possibly Euros with his spanish companions, he will likely want to start rebuilding a mid table team in another country

He said he would return but maybe next season. i hope he does if i could have any player back it would be him. he is still world class and he will continue to play well until he is about 40 because his knowledge understanding and creativity are second to none.

Nope, we are not big enough for him

Dave alonso got his house back

Maybe in the future but not this summer

Just get over it!!

Err.... NO!
lool 2nd and 3rd comment made me laugh!

@ste. Are you are new scout? Didnt think so

Been told done deal dont worry be happy

19 Jun 2012 14:40:34
hello eds can you tell me if liverpool have any interest in kevin mirallas and what do you think of him is he good in your opinion thanks ,marky {Ed002's Note - Lille, Bayern Munich, Toulouse and, in particular, Weder Bremen have been showing an interest in Mirallas.}

19 Jun 2012 14:09:30
surely chelsea's interest in moses will lead to sturridge leaving? any thoughts ed? {Ed002's Note - I have no idea how you figure that out. Perhaps he would be a replacement for Kalou, or Anelka, or Drogba?}

Hazard, Hulk, Marin.. then Moses for Sturridge perhaps??

I was at a party that Sturidge was at last night, he said he's not planning on leaving Chelsea

Hey Ed's.. Were we not interested in him at one time as well as Zaha? {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest.}

19 Jun 2012 14:09:10
Liverpool have bid £15m for adam johnson and gylfi has signed

!5 mill is a bit high in my opinion.
CR

If he has signed why would they tell u without putting it on the official website? Unless ur Brendan Rodgers! It can't be..... Is that u Brendan?

Prety sure gylfi cant sign until the 1st July?! do you have any other made up crap you would like to share with us?!

Oh yeah sig has signed and nobody else knows about it apart from you.

Why can't he have signed, Hazard, Hulk and Kagawa have signed for the chavs and the mancs, haven't they? {Ed028's Note - No player can offically sign for a club until july 1st yous need to understand this , talks may have taken place but signings are not offical until july 1st}

It's on Twitter!

And Christian Rodriguez has already signed for Atletico Madrid. Emre too.

According to a certain "Agent007ITK" haha

Lol hi brendan rodgers - will your here get rid of spearing

Can't sign until July 1st. Stop talking rubbish.

They can of course agree the terms which I believe this is what this man is trying to say don't be so quick to jump on a persons back if you don't know the facts.

Well said above 2 many FIFA manager's on here ruining the page. It's called Liverpool transfer rumours for a reason. Great site by the way eds.

Very possible people just can't wait to trash everything

Hate it when you say great site eds you are such suck ups {Ed016's Note - You must like it enough to post so often.}

Hope he has had talks and 15mil is a snip

Johnson £15 million bit pricey IMO maybe a swap involving MS theres a few City players we could use a bit of wheelin and dealin to be done

It might happen after July 1st and probably only Siggurdsson so stop lying or your nose will grow bigger Pinnochio

19 Jun 2012 13:37:53
Eds do you know if it's still likely that Jack Robinson will go on loan to Villa next season. Saw in here a while ago that some of you thought this was possible.

If not, can you see us loaning him elsewhere. Looks a top talent and could have the same affect Kyle Walker had whilst there.

Cheers CSE9 {Ed001's Note - they inquired, that is all. They are looking for a left back, but I am not even sure if Robbo can go out on loan, due to his age. I haven't checked.}

He is 18 so i would imagine it's possible

I think he is old enough now and he certainly looks a good prospect.
CR

What you mean due to his age??? {Ed002's Note - If he is 18 then it will be allowed.}

Robbo turned 18 september last year, so presumably since his birthday was before the start of the upcoming season he is eligable?

Where have u been ed001, been a long time since i last saw u !

S.G.L. {Ed001's Note - I don't tend to edit on here much these days, far too much abuse on here, it is not fun to edit.}

19 Jun 2012 13:17:16
Hello eds, is there any substance to the Wilfried Bony rumors. Is this a possibility? IS BR looking at him? ocuinn {Ed001's Note - no idea sorry, I haven't had him mentioned to me in connection with Liverpool.}

19 Jun 2012 13:43:21
eds are we in the run for olivier giroud and what is his most likely destiantion? {Ed002's Note - He will move to Arsenal.}

19 Jun 2012 13:36:34
hi eds great site just wondering if there is any interest in us signing sahin from real madrid {Ed002's Note - Sahin has had injury problems this year but rumours do persist about his long term future. If he were to leave I would very much suspect a move to Italy (possibly with AC Milan) or a return to Germany (with Bayern Munich) would come before any thoughts of a move to England. Malaga also spoke to Madrid about the possibility of a loan and Galatasaray would like to take him to Turkey.}

19 Jun 2012 13:45:16
any interest in wilfried bony of vitesse?, yohan mollo of granada? or robert firmino of hoffenheim (much better than sig) ?
surely these much be more realistic options. cheaper. and looking at them play and their stats top quality players.
YNWA

Somebody has had fun reading Bleacher Report!

Yeah was a good read. much better than listening to post after post about the same players, i.e sig, tello, krasic and kalou.

Hence why i posted if there was any interest in them. something different. not saying we are linked to them. it was just a report on players we could go in for. and in my opinion if it was who we had been linked to, much better than who with been linked to so far
YNWA

Bony isn't great, Mollo is distinctly average, and isn't Firmino Brazillian - would we even get a work permit for him?

A lot of people said that when we were linked to jelavic. Now look who's laughing. Bony is good. Mollo is definitely better than average. And not too sure on the work permit situation.

Bony only shines due to the below-average goalkeepers trying to save his shots. I agree, he's an exceptionally strong player for his league, but I think it would be a huge step up to try and bulldoze his way through defensive lines containing the likes of Micah Richards and trying to get shots past the likes of Vorm, Krul & Hart. Still, stranger things have happened at sea. Look how amazingly Cisse has adapted. I suppose it's that old 'risk vs potential gain' scenario.

Hi Ed's amd fellow posters; a few questions...

It's been said that Aston Villa are interested in Glan Johnson - is this correct; I thought they had been cost cutting for the last couple of years and wouldn't pay the kind of Money Johnson is on?

Now Clarke is manager of WBA is there likely to be any interest in some of our younger players going on loan to WBA that he rated?

Have we released any players (apart from Amoo and Aurelio)?

Got to admit that people getting wound up by missing out on players is a bit extreme; there's so many factors to consider (does the player want to join us; can we offer them competitive wages; top level, champions league football, does the player want to use us to get a move to a different club, will the player fit into our wage structure, is the selling club willing to sell/can they get a replacement....) remember when Ronaldihno rejected Man U for barcelona - it happens to all clubs - Erickson doesn't really want to move to England regardless of money etc...

Let's find out who the manager really wants before being disappointed if they sign or not.

Thanks

Hoola {Ed002's Note - Aston Villa were indeed interested in Johnson but may well have moved on. As for WBA taking a player on loan, it is perfectly possible - but no more than one. There were some reserve/youth players released but I don't recall which - maybe someone could help.}

Released players :
Fabio Aurelio, David Amoo, Steven Darby, Matthew McGiveron, Michael Roberts, Kristjan Emilsson, Emmanuel Mendy

Dear Editor. Just thought i would warn you that Aquilani's agent has said that Alberto would like to stay if he was given the right opportunities. There is quotes on the talksport webstite (however i dont rate it as a reliable source) but there is quotes so maybe just maybe.. Have you heard anything on him? And also as you have said that Rodgers will assess the whole squad do you think Alberto will feature in pre season games if he is still here by then?

Cheers
BLANCO7 {Ed005's Note - I don't think the club want him, I don't think he is happy at Liverpool or in England, and because of that I don't think Rodgers will want to keep him.}

I have never seen a player that moans as much as him. And certainly don't believe he wants to stay...

I reckon it's his agent making the right noises to placate the fans, just in case he doesn't get his wish to stay in Italy, and he has to return and sit out a season at LFC.
But that won't happen- he's a good enough player that some Serie A club will come in with a derisory offer, and LFC will cut their losses.
Interesting to contrast the way Spurs dealt with Modric's wish to play elsewhere last summer.

They said the same things last summer(both him and his agent) and then made it perfectly clear that he did not want to be in England once his loan was secure. The club will be better off without him!

Hi eds really sorry abou this question but i tend to get players mixed up that we sold/loaned out last season just wondering if poulsen and ince konchesky and el zhar are all still liverpool
Sorry again

D690 {Ed005's Note - Konchesky is off permenantly, as is Poulsen and El Zhar.}

Thank Christ... {Ed002's Note - Poulsen remains on Liverpool's payroll until the end of the month.}

Didn't tom ince go permanently to blackpool aswell?

mark the selby red

Ince and I think bruna went as part of Adam deal mate {Ed001's Note - and the Jonjo Shelvey loan was all part of the deal, after we recalled Shelvey we sent Danny Wilson there instead.}

Oh yeah ed01 forgot that all that for Charlie Adam eh think we know who go better deal there. {Ed001's Note - well we did get Shelvey and Wilson a chance to get first team football experience, so that was in our favour. Ince was an arse and would not have signed a contract anyway, far too full of himself for such an average footballer, so we got rid of him. Then there is Bruna, who was just not good enough, unfortunately. Added to that, we healed a rift that had opened up with Blackpool and got back on good terms with them. There is a lot more to it than the money and players.}

Blackpool paid about 100,000 for ince

I stand corrected when u put it that way makes more sense ed001 this is why I love this site keep up good work I'm a daily devotie love it .....Rigg10 (Wexford red)

Eds,
Heard Alan Dzagoev only has 18 months left on his current deal at CSKA. Firstly, do you know if this is true? Secondly, are you aware in any confirmed interest in the player, either from Liverpool or any others?
Any info on this would be great, top site!
Red L {Ed002's Note - No it is not true. Dzagoev is a free agent at Christmas but CSKA want to give him a new deal. Dzagoev has interested Chelsea in the past but Arsenal have shown a lot of interest this past year including sending a contingent to watch him play in Moscow back last summer.}

Eds,
Hope u post this good news.

Heard that fee has been agreed for Gylfi Sigurdsson for 8M. Sig will become LFC player this week.

Eds, since u got more credible sources, is it true?

JohnsonAndJohnson'LFC {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware - Twitter again? A deal for Sigurdsson is likely to happen, but right now there is no deal that I know of.}

Hang onn why are we paying 8m when swansea were gonna pay 6.8m

lfcscott {Ed002's Note - Whatever deal is struck it is a new negotiation. Liverpool were not party to an agreement made in January between two other clubs.}

Sig cannot officially become an LFC player until the 1st of July so you must be talking s**te! {Ed005's Note - But he can sign a deal which will go through on July 1st.}

Not much of a rumour but a bit of a rant,,, We were linked with Marin chelsea got him,
Linked with Jackson Martinez Porto got him
Linked with Hazard last season Chelsea got him
Linked With De jong looks like newcastle getting him
Linked With Alves (ages ago) and Barca got him,
Linked with Aguero and Athletico got him,

Whats with the club,, were linked with all these players before they come world class or have potential to become world clas and we end up with players like adam, downing, Wilson, As fas as i can see the club dont really want to do much to help us,, as far as i can see all they want to do is buy young players and sell them on when they have a better resale value,, doin this is for teams like everton, aston villa etc,, as were suppossed to be a top 4 team, with the players Brenden Rodgers is looking at were going to be lucky if we make the Top 10, at least Kenny had a idea who and what he wanted for the future, I have followed Liverpool with my heart for 42 years now, and this is the worst i have ever seen the club in.. No one knows nothing about the stadium or if they do there keeping it really quiet,, FSG need to do more to keep the fans in the loop.. We Need to buy world class players to get us back to were we belong .. click the believable tab if you agree with this.. if not click the other one and leave a comment!

DuffBeer! {Ed002's Note - Many of these links have arisen from the fans whipping themselves in to a frenzy about - there was zero chance of Aguero or HAzard joining. If there was interest in Martinez, January was the time to buy - there was no chance after then. de Jong has been a long term target - if nothing happens now then it is down to the new manager that he must have other ideas.}

I wish people on here would wind their necks in and have faith in the club! Do you not think the likes of wilson, carrol and henderson will develop into world class talents like those listed above. heck even if one of them turns into a world beater i would be over the moon. We are Liverpool Football club! lets get behind Buck Rodgers and the boys! Good times are not far away! Have Faith! YNWA

DSteve

Ps
If you think you can do a better job go do your Uefa Badges and work your way up to the liverpool job.

One of the silliest posts I've seen especially from someone who isn't a kid! FSG should post on twitter or facebook or other forums to keep the fans 'in the loop' on who we are interested in buying. Maybe FSG should text you daily updates on transfers etc! Stadium updates will be announced when decisions are reached, FSG do not tend to go in for idle gossip (that's what this site is good for!). Get a grip fella!

The window isnt even open yet! you say want the club to keep us fans in the loop about news... but the proper and the liverpool way has almost always been to keep any business under wraps untill it is confirmed. Have faith in rodgers and stop spitting your dummy out because thats not helping anyone!

Yeah and I've heard dopes on here link us to players ranging from Messi down to fifth raters who can't hack it in division 1.That doesn't mean we either had any interest in them or tried to sign them.

Linked linked linked. The club doesn't link us with anyone, the media does, stop paying so much attention to sly sports and the papers. If you want news about the club come to this site and see what the eds say.

For someone who claims to have supported the club for 40odd years I find it strange that you are complaining that the club are keeping quiet about their business, be it stadium wise or transfer targets.
Isn't that the Liverpool way? You'll be told on a need to know basis and right now my friend you need to know sweet FA.
Perhaps many of you became so used to media circus under the previous owners that you mistook that for the norm??

Irishkopite.

Sorry i dont remember any official spokesman from LIVERPOOL FC stating we were in for these players !

GET REAL

If you hadn't said you were a supporter for 42 years I would have thought you are a lot younger. You need to have patience. There are more than half a dozen footballers that can play good football, and our manager will surely buy some of them over the next two to three years and increase the quality of our team. If I see an improvement on the team from last year then I'll be happy, that's progress.

FSG don't have to do anything more to keep us in the loop, that's not the Liverpool way and you should know that because you have followed the club for 42 years with your heart.

On a more practical note, how do you think we will be able to sign world class players when were are not even in the champions league, and finished in 8th place last season? While we do have a fantastic history, other factors are important to a world class player such as Champions League football. If we can get that then we should be able to attract world class players. But who cares about that, look at United. They don't always sign superstars they make them (with a few exceptions). You should know this being a fan with your heart for 42 years.

Thankfully you are not the manager, and please don't go and get coaching badges, you sound exactly like Blackburn Rovers owners the Venkeys with the team being linked to players like Ronaldinho. Blackburn got relegated. Or how about that team in Spain (name?) where new owners said they would make them the third Spanish power. It didn't happen.

Kenny may have had an idea for the future but clearly it hasn't worked out for him. Just because a player plays OK for the final few games of a season doesn't mean 35 million was a fair price to pay. Maybe long term it will be worth it assuming he remains at the club over the summer. If we wanted to buy to sell in a few years why would we have paid 35 million for Carroll, nearly 20 for Downing, and over 15 for Henderson? You should rethink this given you are a fan with your heart for 42 years.

And finally how do you know what players Brendan Rodgers is looking at? From what I can tell Sigurdsson is the only player he wants to sign so far. Anything else is hard to say for definite as the ed's know right now, and as you should know being a fan with your heart for 42 years.

Sorry I couldn't address you directly which would be proper in a response like this. You didn't leave your name/forum name.

Maybe I'm completely wrong, and I have no idea what I'm talking about. Any comments ed's?

I clicked the other one and this is my comment.

From a fan of less than 42 years with my heart.
TommyB

We could have actually had aguero for 12m when Benitez was in charge but he didn't rate him!

DSsteve...

I do not think those players you have mentioned will develop into world class talents such as the one these posters have made...(with the exception of possibly Hendo)

That doesn't mean I don't have faith it means I am realist.

RobbehLFC

Buddy you are just being negative because in your little rant there you didnt mention carra stevie g torres alonso masherano hypia hamman we have had some super stars over the years and managed to keep a few there aswell.wats with you its clear you started supporting lfc because they were winning everything im 23 and have never saw them winning a title.br is great at getting players to play good that has been acknowledged by mourinho he dont need to go after big names thats why he is perfect for this post.bdw there is loadz of room in utds fan base since so many of them started wearing baby blue.win or loose lfc will never walk alone

Benitez did want Augero however he was thought to be too much of a risk at the time by the board for the price the same goes for Alves. Royster

Good post irishkopite .This is horrible to see a man who supported us for over 42 years and hasnt even got enough patience to wait for the transfer window to open our manager is just in place let him see who he wants .I personally think are owners are doing a great job making difficult decisions for the good of the club there is no way they thought maybe take the easy option and keep king kenny for another season. no they quickly seen it wasnt working and changed the way the club is being run which suggests to me the club is in much better hands now than it has been for a long time ps Good luck buck im 1 of the better fans not 1 of the fans that are never happy no matter what.

Just because stupid online sites like caughtoffside and koptalk "linked" us to players doesn't mean we were actually interested in them.
derryred

Obviously a MANU supporter winding us all up!! No true kopite would have such a negative and narrow minded view! Get behind BR if you are a true red!

Have to say duffbeer has a point we used to get the very best lately is been scraps not good enough for the mighty reds tho am feeling very positive about future with Buck

murdred

"Linked With De jong looks like newcastle getting him"

Newcastle bid £8m, club wants £15m. And that makes you think that they are favourites to get him? Because they are the first to place a low bid? Lay off the Duff and buy yourself a decent pint mate, you'll learn to smile again.

I have read all your comments,, in regards patience.. i do have that.. what am getting at is that all other teams are already buying and we have zilch, nought nothing... maybe the papers did link us with some of them,, but i was right with aguero, alves hazard as hodgson admitted he looked at him but never followed it up. yes i am 42 and and yes i have followed them all my life.. maybe your right that there keeping everything behind closed doors,, but surely as per rumours exsist theres always leaks coming out, and were being linked to second rate players.. as i said we should be going for higher value.. maybe your right in regards hendo becoming world class, but in my eyes he aint gonna do it,, we have maybe six maybe seven world class players in our team where as the top 4 have a lot more. our reserves have maybe 2 potential players to make the grade suso being 1, which is shocking for the calibre of our team,, and as i said right at the begining of the post i said it was a rant.. and that means its my opinion,, and you lot need to sit back and think about what i said instead of slagging me off. Liverpool is in my heart but with the way we have been over the past few seasons we have been shocking,, considering newcastle finished above us and even spurs,, they were once classed as the second rate teams... now were getting classed as that.. so i will leave this rant and leave you to express your own opinions but as i said think about it before you slag me off !

Duffbeer

Not forgetting we could of had ;
CRISTIANO RONALDO for 6M under
HOULLIER, or DAMIEN DUFF under
HOULLIER for 9M.....

auntie annie......

Agree with the poster, we miss out on good targets and recently have bought some rubbish signings. What are the scouts, management team up to. Get their ship into gear and try to get quality signings earlier before there is a frenzy and too much competition. It's the way top clubs get their business done. For example now is the time to sign any non european players with the euros taking place. Plenty of talent there for sure

We missed out on Duff for 9m!?
Time to hit the bottle again. Havent felt this depressed since Sundeland beat us to the signing of Bramble

Hi ed's, How much would Krasic cost around 6m or 7m and would Tello be the same as they look the likeliest wingers to sign atm

Thanks

Greg. {Ed002's Note - I would certainly not consider Tello as likely.}

More likely than other wingers talked about on here god ed.. {Ed002's Note - Er, no.}

19 Jun 2012 11:36:02
Luk de Jong to newcastle, Jackson Martinez very near to join porto. we miss all our target eds ?

r-r {Ed002's Note - Martinez was someone that the fans whipped themselves in to a frenzy about. If Liverpool had an interest in Jackson Martinez then January should have been the time to make a move. We knew very early on that Villareal, Benfica, Porto and Sporting Lisbon were interested in him. Luuk De Jong has been a long term target of Liverpool but perhaps the new manager is not so keen - we will see.}

Wow is that you brendan. because if it isn't then your just guessing

He was linked from the papers though so I wouldn't go blaming the fans. We're all sick of this best of british policy when it's dragged us down last season

19 Jun 2012 11:20:29
Hi Ed,s is there any interest in Jordi Clasie as i see him as a great player and young, who would give our midfield some steel
LEP72 {Ed002's Note - None we know of.}

19 Jun 2012 11:19:46
ed02. stick your neck on the line. if/when we sign a winger, who will it be? (I am classing Gylfi Sigurdsson as an attacking mid not a winger)....> I would go for Kalou on a free

cArLo {Ed002's Note - Well Kalou does not see himself as a winger and is much happier playing as a centre forward, but has played on the right of a front three for Chelsea. There has been interest in the likes of Matt Phillips and Krasic. Elia or Afellay perhaps. It is very early to be sticking any necks out.}

Thanks for reply eds, krasic would be nice. also i like matt phillips (but is he ready?), wouldnt go for afellay myself and dont know enough about Elia, but heard decent things.
carlo {Ed002's Note - There is no doubt about the skill of Krasic but Eds 1 and 3 see Phillips as very much one for the near future but personally I know little of him. Afellay has suffered injury and is oft accused of being a little less robust than he needs to be, but he may well stay at Barcelona. Elia has a career that was flying until he joined Juve where it has not really worked out. Juve were willing for him to make a move on loan in January with, I expect, an option to buy. Everton, Hertha Berlin and Newcastle had apparently shown interest and his representatives were looking to place him in a northern European side where he would get a regular start but nothing came of it. He will be available this summer but the only firm interest right now is from Benfica and Genk although West Ham may try and lure him to London.}

I sent in several times last season that Liverpool were scouting Matt Phillips of Blackpool but nothing was ever published. Now ed 002 is telling us that there has been ' interest in the likes of Matt Phillips'. Glad you've got the message now!! {Ed001's Note - are you really that much of a liar? Because I had said it months ago, it has been discussed most of last season, and now you want to jump on the bandwagon with your nonsense about it not being published? Not true, not in the slightest, you have not sent it in repeatedly and it not been published. Pathetic.}

II stand by 100% what I have said about
Matt Phillips in my above posting so I don't take kindly to being called a liar. I don't care what kind of a bandwagon you have got going about this now, I support Blackpool and my source came from this end. i agree none of these comments were posted but it does not mean they were not sent. I would suggest you recheck your records about Jan/ Feb .

I am still feeling aggreived at being called a liar ,which I am not, about my posting about Matt Phillips so I have tried to do alittle research. I cannot give you the precise date that i was given the information about Liverpool scouting
Blackpool's Matt Phillips but I do know that I was aware of prior to Blackpool playing Fleetwood in the f a cup which I think was January 28th. I was given this information by a source which I would describe as uncontradictable ( certainly I couldn't contradict him) or I wouldn't have sent it in. I was surprised when it didn't appear as a posting as everything
else I had sent in always had, so I sent it in again and agaih no posting.
I should very much like to know what record you have of these communications as I cannot un derstand what has happened to them. I would suggest you look in the period 22/01/12 to 22/02 12. I can promise you that this information was given to me at this time and to the best of my knowledge these were sent in correctly .Please advise. {Ed016's Note -Maybe you should post a name with your posts and search your name. This has already been posted...look around a bit.}

heard a rumour that pepe reina is leaving lfc dont belive it meself but any info eds... also if he does leave have lfc looked at ter stegen ......great work

Get over it. Even being at the Euro's didn't stop Reina from expressing his excitement on the appointment of BR and how his system suits him perfectly. He has also stated that he can't wait to return to LFC. But i remember a certain Fernando Torres said something similar about his love for the club weeks before handing in a transfer request. But in any case,I couldn't care less if he leaves if last season is anything to go by

Reina will need to raise his game considerablly if he is to feature in BRs plans not the other way around. Same goes for a few others. Kenny was let down by a few key players last year

Lmao @ some part of that last comment. "Kenny Was Let Down by a few key players last year". So if he was bloody let down, then doesnt he have any tonics to get those players to their Godly best??. I mean Rodgers can easily do that. If stats are to go by, Last Season Swansea never lost more than 2 games in a row, while LFC lost like 7 in a row if i remember well. Oh please, dont try and defend a has been(Dalglish) when it comes to management. As a player i have utmost respect for Kenny, but as a manager, i have very little if at all for him. You say that he was let down, offcourse people like Stevie will let u down when they see you play 6 DEFENDERS against Stoke City with the hope of getting a freaking point while teams like Man City are constantly looking to kill the game be it Barcelona or Real Madrid or whoever. Offcourse people like Suarez will let you down when he can clearly see that in the transfer market you have been very lazy. I mean come on, as the Ed's have said, why didnt the club finally sign Jackson Martinez and Honda for example when they would come cheap then??. Its right down to the manager who for one, insisted on buying some over rated crap(Adam and Downing are testament to that). Hendo and Carroll will come good btw as they have age on their side.

Benitez bought in Alonso, Mascherano, Torres and Arbeloa and those players have never let the manager down as was demonstrated by our consistent qualification for UCL. Why so??, because they had players with equal ability to play alongside them hence would always go that extra mile to be as good as their peers. With Dalglish, i feel that even Gerrard must have been thinking, "what type a winger is that Downing lad, man cant even get an assist or a goal ALL SEASON". As in that is the form of a league 10 player if there even is one. Adam was brought to take penalty and free kick reposibilities away from Gerrard to allow him much time to score goals yet i'd be damned if even 10% of his free kicks went over the opposition wall..

All in all, i dont think secretly any player let down Kenny, Kenny let us ALL(players and fans alike) down by being extremely negative in tactics and lethargic in the transfer market and that my friend is the truth to it, RUBBER STAMPED!!.BOOM!!.

Rodgers is not that type, he has that knack that Mourinho has to taking the blame on him and releasing pressure from players, something which Dalglish clearly has not even heard of as a managerial tactic...that says it all mate....

Ter Stegen is just amazing, me thinks he will likely dispose off Neuer within 2-3 years time as Neuer is prone to 1 on 1's which Ter isnt....

I can see riena leaving actually, not because he isn't happy to be at lfc but to boost his chances 0f disposing casillas. I'm not an expert on goalkeepers and I only get to see casillas playing in the champs league but I can never see what makes casillas first choice so resoundingly over Riena. I know for a fact he is extremely popular with Spanish fans and well rated by the spanish media, so what's the difference, probably the fact he doesn't play in Spain. I don't have an inside source its merely an opinion, although I have a friend ( spanish) who lives in Palma Majorca and him and his mates also think this is an issue

Hi Eds, great job keep it up,
Any possibility of Liverpool moving for Rondon from Malaga? or Borini from Parma?

Thanks for the post and the answer,
YNWA {Ed005's Note - There are rumours. Nothing solid about Borini at the moment mate but maybe people are looking at the fact that BR worked with him before and are trying to put 2 and 2 together. I may be wrong though, who knows what will happen. BR will have his own targets and ideas in mind. Rondon, again, a lot of talk in Spain about our interest and at the quoted transfer fees in Spain I can't see why we wouldn't be interested!}

Hi ed i haven't really seen him play... I was wondering if you or anyone could compare him ability wise to Luuk De Jong? Is he better/got a higher ceiling etc?

Regarding Rondon, I thought Malaga were loaded. If he is a good striker, why would they want to sell to us? is he surplus to requirements?

eds ive heard the name henri bedimo come up alot, do you think we''l buy him

wafa {Ed002's Note - There is apparently interest in Bedimo from both Liverpool and Newcastle and I assume is would be a pretty much straight replacement for Aurelio in the thoughts of Liverpool. I remember him at Toulouse a few years ago but he is one of those easily forgetable, but probably reliable, defenders to be honest. I don't know where that would leave Robinson.}

19 Jun 2012 10:17:47
do you think we will sell andy carroll cause i dont think he fits into br´s philosophy

Why sell him, he started to play well and scored in the Euros. Apparently he is putting hard work in as well. He is also showing improvement on the deck. I think he will score for us.

Prelen

^ his point is though no matter how hard he is working - carroll will never fit into Rodgers' style of play and yes i believe carroll will score goals but i still dont think he"ll fit in with "tika tika" football
RedRob

What makes you think Andy wont fit into the new system? Agree with Prelen on his comments.....also can anybody explain what br´s is? or is our poster trying to be clever?

StevieC

The thing is you wouldn't exactly say Danny Graham was a Brendan Rodgers type player to fit into the Tiki Taka football but he played a lot of last season for Swansea, Andy Carroll will succeed at Liverpool next season if he's given the right service, hence the need for some decent quality out wide, If Downing gets his head down and starts next season well the we will only have to find one wide player to fill the other wing position

Not many blokes fit into a bra mate

Andy carroll on current form is one of the top skrikers in europe the player kenny thought he was signing has now arrived it would be madness to sell him now he is such a handfull pulls the oppositions defence apart makes space for on coming midfielders and other strikers in the pen box also put in as much effort in the last few matches dirk must have rubbed of on him even great defensive headers when needed at the back in the semi.

my dad works at the liverpool training ground as a admin officer and he has just seen sigurdsson entering the building with his agent apperantly to agree terms

What a lie that is because all admin work is done in the chapel street offices in town.

Haha busted

Lol very well busted.

Really. my dad only works in a box factory :(

Sure he just didn't look like him?

Eds, as good as Skrtel is and he even though he was our player of the season, I think Agger makes him look better than he already is and that's why I think we'll easily replace him with for example, Höwedes of Schalke.

Personally, I would sell him and sign Kjaer. He and Agger work well together, and Kjaer is young with growth potential. Skrtel is what he is: a solid defender, who isn't much of a ball handler or dribbler. Gets the job done. We need someone capable of bringing ball forward on occasion. A second Agger would help

Skrtel had a better season last year but for his size very rarily dominates in the air, his marking in a penalty or goal waiting to happen, too many times he is not facing the ball when a cross comes in and instead is wrestling the attacker - He is a limited footballer and if he goes we can improve the side.

If Anzhi came in with a ridiculous offer I'd bite their hands off.... Agger is the man we need to keep hold of.

As for a Skrtel replacement, I dont think we need one personally. We already have one in Seb Coates (who I think will be awsome given a run of games), we have Carra as understudy and Danny Wilson, Martin Kelly, Andre Wison and Stephen Sama as backup.

Better to spend any income from Skrtel on other areas of the team (Winger, Striker)

Red G

It's not a case of Agger making him look better, Skrtel is a predominently right sided player and when Agger is out of the team he has to fill in for him on the left which is his weaker side. Agger and Skrtel form a formidable partnership and both are playing in the correct position, minor I know but Skrtel is out of position on the left side of defence. I hope we keep the both of them. Our record last season when they both played together was excellent

How can you say sell skrtel and sign daggers danish pal...cos they work well together!! if they worked better they would still be in the euros!! come in out of that fog lad!!

Yes, can we please stop this delusion that Agger and Kjaer are a decent centre-back partnership. They just conceded five goals in three games, and they DO NOT work well together. As much as Agger compliments Skrtel's game, so Agger benefits from having a more physical presence next to him. If we must sell Skrtel, then we should get someone similar to replace him (Sakho for instance). Kjaer is the exact opposite of the kind of defender we should be replacing Skrtel with.

Eds, if we do miss out on De Jong as expected, is there any alternatives for backup striker as it's clear that Andy and Luis will be the main men. {Ed002's Note - De Jong has been a long term target but with a new manager in place he will have his own ideas. He will assess the squad and then consider who if anyone is leaving and I guess go from there.}

19 Jun 2012 09:38:36
I see ANZHI have come back in for Skrtle again. Their offer last year would have made Skrtle the highest paid player ever from his country.
Hopefully they will get the same response this year as they did last year.

I bet he is already the highest payed in Slovakia :P
DanielDenmark

Skrtel is already the highest paid player from Slovakia.

Not marek hamsik then?

Who would want to leave liverpool for a team in the russian league there is only so much money a man needs .

All this talk about Johnson leaving. Eds, is anybody in particular actually actively pursuing him, or is this just a bunch of speculation? {Ed005's Note - Aston Villa were speculated to be showing an interest.}

I doubt johnson would be showing any interest in aston villa though.... {Ed005's Note - The problem is mate Johnson is only interested in himself. If Villa can guarantee him first-team football, which increases his England chances, and give him what he wants in his contract, he'll probably go provided they make a suitable offer to us.}

I don't understand why we'd get rid of Johnson, always rated him. I also think he'd suit Rodgers.

For once Ed, I think you're wrong there. I highly doubt Johnson would go to Villa. He is guaranteed to start at RB when fit at Liverpool and pretty much always has done, he's more likely to win trophies at Liverpool than Villa, more likely to get into the England squad, and I'd imagine Liverpool pay higher wages than Villa. However, if we have to sell him we should be looking for 14m and no less. He's Englands first choice RB and we'd need at least 10m to replace him if we didn't play Kelly there.

Ed did you think they were talking about Adam Johnson? {Ed002's Note - They appear to be taking about all three Johnsons. Adam, Glen and Boris.}

The EDs on this site have speculated that Johnson will leave. No other tabloid site or paper has mentioned Glen Johnson to date.
Would not be suprised at all if Johnson stays.

Ed002, you said a while back that cuenca of Barcelona would be available along with Keita and Tello. Is that still the case with cuenca or has that changed now?
Also, who might be interested if he was to become available?
Cheers! {Ed002's Note - As I said the other day, in the short term it has changed as Cuenca has had surgery and will be out for three months. Lyon, Arsenal and Chelsea have previously spoken with Barcelona about the player and any sale would certainly include a buy back clause.}

Would be an excellent signing, very clever player and oozes quality

Eds, a few question about Julian Draxler from Schalke

- Do we have any interest in him ?

- Will schalke consider selling him ?

- Would draxler be open to a move away from germany?

- What will be the likely transfer fee schalke would be demanding?

Also i know we had draxler and one other schalke youngster scouted, cant remember the name do you have any idea who he might be?

Thanks, always appreciate your work keep it up.
YNWA

{Ed002's Note - Draxler will not be leaving Schalke for Liverpool this summer.}

Eds,
i know its kinda been asked before but i was wondering what are chances of getting tello, sig, krasic, vicosi and soldado are. That would definitely be a team that could challenge for the top 4 {Ed005's Note - There is a chance on Tello purely based on the fact that Dalglish was seriously interested but things may have changed now BR is here and he may have different ideas. Sigurdsson will almost certainly sign for us pretty soon mate. Not heard anything on Vicosi myself mate - I think Ed002 said there is interest. Interest in Soldado but only interest at the moment.}

Yarmelenko
Pacy smart outside middy, gone on BR make the buy!

Who is Vicosi? I can't find anything about him!

DP

DP- his name is junior vicosa and he's a Brazilian forward currently playing in brazil

19 Jun 2012 02:25:32
alri eds great site.. i posted last nite saying we we wouldn't be 2 far of if we signed d likes of gilfi.. munian.. saldado.. and maybe krasic.. if we were 2 sign players like these do u think top 4 would be a real possibilty again? YNWA!! DAROPOOL {Ed005's Note - If we signed those players I think we'd be favourites for that 4th spot in all honesty.}

You answer the question and then ask the question.

How does anybody have the answers lets wait and see what happens

19 Jun 2012 02:10:06
newcastle bid 8m for de jong mc clarens side holding out for 12.5m hopefully we put in an offer now looks a great player should have got newcastle scout graham carr too before he sign a new 8 year contract

19 Jun 2012 01:47:55
Absolutely buzzin about the first 3 homes fixtures, Hopin Rodgers and the lads show us what there made of!
Was wondering Ed's other than us and Swansea, are there any others teams talkin to Siggurson?
Plus who are the backroom staff we are bringing in from man city, if tht is true?
Cheers
DavrosRed
{Ed005's Note - There may be mate but it doesn't matter he wants to come to Liverpool.}

Love that! "He wants to come", goin to be a great signing if we pull it off!

Man C staff seem to be all on the scouting and negotiating side of things.

Absolutely great player has everything a CAM needs - he is what henderson should have been last season

Why you buzzing mate over 1st 3 games we will pick up a point against Westbrom and nothing more. We will finish 5th this coming season on between 58-63 points.

I like to be positive mate, I'm not going to be silly and say we will gain maximum points but I don't see why not!
I reckon we should try to be positive and stamp the negativity its boring to read!

19 Jun 2012 01:37:21
Hi eds and fellow liverpool fans. I have heard that glen johnson may go to man city with richards coming to us. I dont know the liklihood of this rumour. Could you see this happening??

Red lee {Ed005's Note - Not sure mate can't see it myself. Would love it to happen though}

Think Richards would want more money than Johnson and not as skilful? So Why would we?!!
kidmillions

19 Jun 2012 01:09:38
Seydou Doumbia. Fast, highly prolific.
Heard we are interested.
Do you think we got a chance of landing him ed? {Ed005's Note - Concerns about his age make me doubt it mate.}

Similar concerns to those raised about Kanu or Obafemi Martins Ed? Because his official age is stated at 25...

TSP {Ed005's Note - I don't know the details about it to be honest I just heard that over Europe there were concerns about his real age. That's all I know and nothing more which would suggest that there are concerns about his offical stated age......kind of obvious from my previous post I would have thought...........}

19 Jun 2012 00:59:07
If Johnson were to leave do you see us buying a RB, we have Kelly who will be able to cope. Also although we did not score many goals last season do we need a striker? Maybe a back up to Carroll(who I believe should start) who would be a decent back up? Also which wingers, which we are linked with be most effective?
Cheers {Ed005's Note - I think we would probably use some if not all of the Johnson money to replace him, even if it was a relativly cheap replacement. I think we do personally - Carroll is a good link up player as he's shown but I don't think he'll get us 25+ goals in a season. Krasic is one we've been linked with which at the moment seems to be a real interest.}

I thought krasic was a winger??

19 Jun 2012 00:36:33
hi eds iv seen you say johnson could be on his way out do you know of any teams who are interested in taking him? id personally sell him if a decent offer comes in kelly is a better option at rb for me {Ed005's Note - Real Madrid is one I've heard. I also think Tottenham liked him but that changed when Walker came good and now that Redknapp is gone I can't see it. Aston Villa a recent name mentioned.}

Any chance kelly could be our 1st choice rb if he does leave thou? i think he could leave soon if not given the chance {Ed005's Note - I think, and hope, that Kelly will be used as a CB more often as it is his natural position. You'd have to question whether his hamstrings could cope with the demands of being a full-back for a full season given the recent problems. However it is up to Rodgers.}

Villa cannot afford him.
CR

So you think we don't want Johnson but Maureen at Madrid who knows his football some say? Does want Johnson?
On that premise; I would say we would be fools to sell Johnson.

Hey eds was wondering if you've heard anything about us being linked with fabio borini who rodgers has managed before and out of curiosity does rodgers speak italian ?

cheers laylow {Ed005's Note - Only rumours. The Italian media seem to think it is a very real interest.}

19 Jun 2012 00:25:06
hi eds my understanding i dunno how right i am thou is that bojan is looking to leave roma and england is very much an attractive destination but am i right in thinking that any team who might be interested will have to pay both roma and barca? {Ed005's Note - Not sure who would be interested mate.}

Any chance of liverpool goin in for him? {Ed005's Note - If there was a chance and reasonable price-tag I'm sure we'd be interested. I can't see it though.}

18 Jun 2012 23:29:57
Apologies for cut and paste Eds. thought this would be of interest.
sly understand Newcastle have bid £8million (€10m) for FC Twente star Luuk de Jong.

The Premier League club have long been linked with the Holland international, who went to Euro 2012 but did not play in his nation's disappointing campaign.

Newcastle have now made their first approach and Sky sources understand Twente are considering the offer as boss Steve McClaren thinks about the options.

The pursuit of De Jong will do little to quash reports Demba Ba is set to leave St James' Park this summer and it appears to be the case of Alan Pardew lining up replacements.

It has in the past been reported Twente value De Jong at closer to £12.5m so it remains to be seen whether Newcastle are successful in their initial approach.

Pardew had in January shown interest in the 21-year-old but instead decided to bring in Papiss Cisse from Freiburg.

De Jong has also been linked with Tottenham, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmundafter scoring 39 goals in 76 games for Twente.

Can you see us matching Newcastle's bid Ed?

Jonesred {Ed005's Note - I honestly don't know mate as it really depends on the level of interest BR has for him. Had Dalglish been here I reckon he'd have signed for us but seems as if things under BR have changed but who knows.}

18 Jun 2012 23:24:27
Great site Ed, just wondering, do you think that newcastles bud for de jong will force other cubs to move in. would be gutted if we didn't at least have a go. thanks {Ed005's Note - It may do so.}

18 Jun 2012 23:24:19
Newcastle supposed to have bid 8 mil for luuk de jong.. Is he no longer a key target ?

Cheers ed's {Ed005's Note - No-one knows whether BR wants him or not. He was a Dalglish target.}

We should be getting De Jong over newcastle, we'll probably end up with someone half as good :(

18 Jun 2012 23:57:12
Hi Eds/Macca

Do you know the likelihood of johnson leaving ??

Cheers T A {Ed028's Note - if a respectable offer comes in it could be possible. }

18 Jun 2012 21:55:32
Why are we being linked with so many strikers (and I know we hit the woodwork a lot last season)?

It's likely we'll play with 1 up top, so any in coming striker is likely to spend a lot if time sat on their bum on the bench. Unless Suarez ends up playing out wide or gets sold? I'd rather the money got spent on a couple of pacey wingers!

Keep up the good work Eds.

Cheers,

Raoul {Ed005's Note - I think Suarez would go out wider mate - from what I see he's more effective there and I personally think up top he wouldn't add the goals we need. Maybe you disagree but that's how I see it myself.}

I agree he got is hat trick from widearea

Pace isnt his strongest point. I think he should be supporting a striker. Give him the freedom to go where he wants. We need a much tougher central midfield to support two up front though.

Agreed Ed, I think next season Suarez will play on the right of a front-three like Messi used to for Barcelona, floating around in a sort of free role. YNWA

Suarez got most of his goals at ajax from right-side forward

We need a striker to replace Kuyt. Don't forget we've also lost N'Gog, Torres, Voronoin and Jovanvic with only Carroll and Suarez coming in. We need 4 strikers for competiob and unfortunately there doesn't look to be any coming through the academy, some good midfirled, defensive prospects though

18 Jun 2012 21:45:55
hi ed02 just read player profile on junior vicosa, in their words , " could be a little gem" backs up what you said. so we will watch this space! what do you think about salamon rondon rumours? looked , by other reports , going to chelsea , your thoughts? steviep62 {Ed005's Note - I think he is a perfectly realistic target mate and I've seen rumours he'd cost about 8m or so but I think a little more than that would get him, and what a good signing he'd be.}

Is that Rondon you're on about there ed005? I don't see why the other Ed got abuse about Junior Vicosa? Most of the fans here have never heard of him before he was mentioned and can't give a fair evaluation on him whatsoever. The Eds should be thanked for sharing the info they know with us rather than abused! {Ed005's Note - All I've heard are rumours mate. I'd be happy with Rondon though, very happy. Think he's a great finisher but is strong and good in the air. Suits the PL. I really like De Jong but would prefer Rondon - especially at the prices being quoted.}

18 Jun 2012 19:48:58
Hi ed005, 1
. Wondering if there is anything to the rumors connecting us to Muniain.
2. Know of any interest in Giuseppe Rossi? Seems a good player for BR's style of play and the situation at the yellow submarines is ideal for someone to make a move.
Thanks YNWA
Drew {Ed005's Note - There are loads of rumours linking us with Munian mate but whether they will become real is unknown. I think it depends on what Atletic Bilbao ask for the player. I haven't heard anything about Rossi. I think the fact that he's injury prone may put us off - especially coming into a more physical league. A great player on form though.}

18 Jun 2012 23:24:19
newcastle make bid for 8million for luuk de jong, what has happened to our big interest eds. Keep up the amazing work.

teeno1lool {Ed028's Note - Dalgleish was interested , rodgers may not be.}

Dalglish was a muppet 20m for downing

18 Jun 2012 23:18:57
Eds just on Sly sports website Newcastle have loffed an £8m bid for De Jong are we no longer interested and £8m why were we talking about £12m-£15m bids for the same player?? {Ed028's Note - we were talking about that price range because it is far more realistic than 8M...he will not be sold for that hes worth much more and with bigger clubs than newcastle showing interest i think that newcastle have a low chance of signing him}
