Hi eds do you think we might skip buying a high profile left back and just promote brad smith to the first team? I think it would make huge sense to go for a free agent like cole who would do the job until smith or robinson matures?

Hey Ed's - how likely is a move this summer for Real Sociedad winger Carlos Vela - He suits our play well as he can play on the wing and upfront, young, quick, skillful - and should be available for less than £20mil?

Hi Eds I seen today that Sheridan Shakiri is linked to us again.My question is out of him or konoplyanka do you think we will go for either and which one of them would you prefer to see signing for us? Cheers
{Ed002's Note - Shaqiri is one of the players Bayern are looking to sell. Fiorentina have a declared interest with Napoli and Juventus having made tentative enquiries. I would not rule Liverpool out of making a bid.
Konoplyanka was subject to two significant offers this past summer - from Galatasaray and Zenit - both of which were been turned down. I expected to see PSG, Benfica and Arsenal make a bid in January, and possibly Fiorentina, Spurs, Liverpool, Manchester United, Schalke and Dortmund to look to the player, but it was only Liverpool that made any significant effort. Right now it is PSG, Bayer Leverkusen and Spurs who are showing interest and looking to negotiate a transfer. Liverpool seem to have dropped the interest they had.}

There seems to be talk of SUSO and wether or not he will be happy returning to the club with limited playing time. (i think he is a future star)
I have been made aware of a player Liverpool are scouting intensley as a player for the future and will certainly bid for him IF Suso wants to leave for Spain in a permanent deal.
The boys name is Otávio Edmilson the Silva Monteiro of Internacional.
BR is apprently really keen on this lad.

hi ED's, anyone interested in Marco Marin, saw him playing the other day for a spanish club (I can't remember what club) and he looked pretty good from what I saw =)
{Ed002's Note - He would like to stay at Sevilla and they would like to keep him - but it will be a matter of whether or not they can offer enough money or other deal to Chelsea. He will move on this summer.}
I suspect he will try to stay as far as possible away from the EPL.

Morning eds.
I really don't think we need to spend a massive amount in the summer - BR seems to have the gift of improving players and creating an atmosphere and team spirit that everyone believes in.
I think maybe a mobile, defensive minded midfielder, a left back and a left sided forward is what we will go for.
We have Suso to come back and Texeira will be a year older and from the little I've seen of him looks very promising.
Maybe the way for us is to promote from within, do what Barca have done. We have the coaches to do it now it seems.
Can't wait to see where we are in another 9 games time.
Question for eds,
Do you have any knowledge of what will happen regarding Johnson/Enrique next season?
Are they viewed as first team players for next year?

Don't think we need a defensive mid, we have gerrard and Lucas competing for one spot there now, I think an all round centre mid to compete for places with hendo and allen
Do this mean you expect Johnson to be offered a new contract?

Hey eds, rumours for Rojo from Sporting, the left back - I haven't watched much of him, but it is a realistic sounding target, any info on that?
{Ed002's Note - Sporting Lisbon's Rojo plays as a centre back but has been used by Argentina as a left back - I don't know but he could well be a player Liverpool have been looking at, but people would need some convincing that he is better than what the club already has.}

I heard from a friend in germany that we had scouts at the real madrid vs shalke game watching Meyer? Any truth this do you think? Cheers eds
