Hi fellow redmen just got some news from my cousin who plays for walsall
He reckons we are looking/getting the following:

Dann 7m
Young 15m (he is 50/50 us and united)
Mata 23m
Gary Hooper 7m
Adam 9m
Alonso 15m- we will try cuz he's fallen out with Mourinho but I ain't banking on it
Friedel-Free
Marveaux-Free

and we will look to offload the usual names.

Ahh, Gary Hooper, another name rarely, if at all, mentioned on the site.

Ed what do you think the chances of landing Soldado or Mata from Valencia? Or both Thanks fellas keep up the good work with the site it's great :)

maka {Ed002's Note - I reckon there are not unrealistic chances at all.}

19 May 2011 20:36:35
hi ed love the site. . what are the chances of singing these players?
Aguero
Turan
Payet
Matuidi
Young
Cahill
Sakho
Cissoko {Ed002's Note - 1, 2, 4, 4, 6, 4, 4, (sp) 3}

19 May 2011 18:58:41
Ed002, you said early that Scott Dann has become a real possibility for us. Can you please say why and if you think he will come.

{Ed002's Note - Dann fits the bill from an availabilty standpoint, from a LIverpool standpoint and from a common sense standpoint. Not an attractive buy but for me, as a Chelsea supporter, a dumb player to miss out on.}

19 May 2011 23:21:13
Ed do you think there's any chance of Nandi returning to Lfc cas he dust like Chelsea and he could be doin a rob ie keane on them jus to help Liverpool make a prophet on him {Ed002's Note - I very much doubt it.}

19 May 2011 23:14:08
End all rumours regarding Charlie Adam. . He is joining Manchester United 100%.
Liverpool will step up the chase for Wesley Sneijder with Alberto Aquilani going the another way as part of the deal. Wesley will wear the number 10 shirt as Joe Cole will be joining another premierleague club.

19 May 2011 23:11:39
Ed has Ashley young practically signed for us

19 May 2011 23:03:12
LFC desperately need a hard man central defender, somebody who can actually head the ball and stand up to a bit of physical because martin skytle can do neither

19 May 2011 23:03:11
Arda Turan's agent has contacted Comolli making it known that his client wants to play for the reds and that Gala will accept EUR 18m. If Kenny wants to add the Turkish delight to his squad the option is there but he must act quickly as Arda will move this window and A. Madrid are in advanced discussions with Gala.

19 May 2011 23:00:26
All this talk of untested, untried and undoubted talent like mata, Hulk, Hazard et al.
We should go after the promising British talent like Rodwell, Henderson, Albrighton, Jones, Wickham

19 May 2011 22:58:29
Ashley young has been offered a five yr deal worth £90,000 a wk subject to a medical, should be concluded by the end of next week. Also heard A Johnson wants out of city, if not assured of more games next season. . YNWA. .

19 May 2011 22:52:56
Announcement tomorrow is more likely to be about the stadium proposal, rather than of any players joining us. {Ed007's Note - That crossed my mind as well}

19 May 2011 22:51:15
to the guy who said he read the club announcing something big tomorrow. . . i heard the same thing mate. i heard the big announcement is that ashley young agreeing personal terms with LFC. . i don't know why all this before the villa match, but just passing on what i have heard. don't shoot the messenger.

============================

So now transfer windows do not matter any more??
I hope his club knows he agreed terms with us ; else we are in trouble

Hey Eds, seems to be going around that Ashley Young has agreed terms with Liverpool and that it will be publicised tomorrow, it's probably the normal rumour mill but could there be any truth to this? Cheers, Alex. {Ed001's Note - he has an offer on the table, it is certainly possible there is some truth in it.}

19 May 2011 22:37:27
Apparently we have made a formal bid of 20m for hazard. . . Hope this comes off. .

Personally have no idea if its true or not, ed you heard anything? {Ed001's Note - I don't know any of the details of the offer on the table to Young, just that there is one there from January.}

19 May 2011 22:32:07
Another bid has been placed by us for sergio aguero.
And news on the ash young deal will be in the press tomo

if i could pick just one player for us to sign, who was an actual realistic option i would do whatever it took to land hulk. hes a fantastic player and i believe he would be colossal in the prem. if only eh. .

19 May 2011 22:17:33
The news the media are apparently meant to report tomorrow is that Ashley Young has agreed personal terms

19 May 2011 21:59:06
i drove past torres' house today and the for sale sign is still up, can we put an end to all these silly rumours about a return to the club now? wouldn't want him back anyway, he shown the hight of disrespect towards the club and its not so long ago when all fans hated him with passion.

Yesterday i posted in regard to several possible signings. The position of Juan Manuel Mata has since changed. There was contact between Damien Comolli and the players agent who told him Mata was not not interested in a team without Champions League football according to my source. I'm sorry to bring a bit of realism to you guys but i think this will be the case with many good players from the bigger European leagues (Spain, Italy, Germany and France). I am only guessing and have no information on this but i expect the response from hazard to be the same.

My source says that he is simply looking for another club, a big club that is (e.g. a top 6 club) and is interested in moving to surprisingly, AC Milan.

His first priority is first team football and sees Liverpool as an ideal place for that. He also sees that we are in a good financial position and are looking to build for the future.

Cheers ed :)

Koptalk is like any other RUMOURS SITE, Just like the one your posting on. It is speculatoin after all isn't it. ?

No it isn't He tries to sucker people in by making up stupid transfer stuff and then getting you to pay to join his site or forum (whatever it is - not really concerned). This site is people like you or me either having discussions, rants, claiming we know Gerrard's cat etc etc. . You're comparing this site to Koptalk, would yea compare Rushden & Diamonds to Liverpool?? I don't think so

I work in a pub down the dock road and today I heard some the old geezers having a chat about transfer news etc. .

One of them stuck out to me. . Kyle Lafferty of Rangers for the wing??

I have never seen him play, would you he was good enough ed?? {Ed007's Note - He is not a winger, and he is not good enough}

i know that liverpool were looking at him.

19 May 2011 18:50:55
Hi ed what do you think are the chances of us getting Eden Hazard {Ed002's Note - There was a significant shift in his chance yesterday when it moved from 0/10 to 1/10.}

19 May 2011 18:44:01
There's a lot of silly rumours been banded about Kun Aguero etc, but what would you think of signing Shane Long of Reading
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I think Aguero has more chance than us getting SHANE LONG Srry but we don't sign randos leave them to chelsea and man u.

19 May 2011 18:43:11
Ed, why are Liverpool trying desperately to sign a central midfield player, I mean I think with miereles, and gerrard starting backed up by lucas and spearing we have plenty of depth in that position.
Any how, if we do sign a centre mid do you expect it to be Adam, I believe un like many that he is a fantastic player and would suit us perfectly.
And finally ed, if we do sign another centre mid what kind of formation do you expect us to play ?
Thanks a lot for your time ed, much appreciated {Ed002's Note - I don't think anything is desparate right now. Adam still seems to be an option - formations I won't touch on.}

Aguero UPDATE JUST IN @ KOPTALK Wonder what it is about. .doesn't one of the ED have subscription to his site?

Just seen on goal.com that Aletico's president has rubbished reports that Aguero wants to sign for Real. So he must be nailed on to join us so Lol

19 May 2011 18:28:37
hi eds the sahko rumours seem to of died down i for one thought he was immense against lille in french cup final would be a class signing one of the best of the summer your opinion pls. {Ed002's Note - I think the quoted price made Arsenal and Liverpool think twice and now Barcelona are taking a sniff. I am very reliablt informed that Scott Dann is becoming a serious contender.}

19 May 2011 18:26:13
There's a lot of silly rumours been banded about Kun Aguero etc, but what would you think of signing Shane Long of Reading should they fail to get promotion, good in the air, hard working, bag loads of ability and quite frankly something that Ngog isn't: goalscorer. There was a rumour the Blue noses were interested, but I'd reckon he'd be a hell of a signing. Your thoughts please Eds, you don't normally print my posts, would appreciate it though.

{Ed002's Note - Regarding your dig at the Eds. Very few posts get rejected at all. If they are similar to this they would never be kicked out. If they are bigoted, morally bankrupt or contain digs at the Eds they might be.}

Apologies if were seen as a dig, not intended, but your views on Shane Long as a potential signing.

{Ed002's Note - He is a fair player but I doubt he will be thinking any further than the play-off final. Then he has the choice to potentially be a starter for Reading in the premier league or to get a few games for Liverpool. I can only put myself in his position.}There's a lot of silly rumours been banded about Kun Aguero etc, but what would you think of signing Shane Long of Reading should they fail to get promotion, good in the air, hard working, bag loads of ability and quite frankly something that Ngog isn't: goalscorer. I agree with you to a certain point, but I think he would act as a great back up striker and hopefully with champ league qualification next year, he would get further oppurtunities the following season. Add the fact he's got 19 international caps and 6 goals, just just over one in 3 average. My point been should Reading fail to get promoted, I think he'd be well worth a punt rather than a far more expensive foreign option, I think he would qualify as homegrown too. Thank u for your time

Does anyone know much about Alex O'Hanlon. Has anyone seen him play. Ross {Ed002's Note - Further down there is some commentary Ross.}"

could you please post this in rumours ED so Ross can see the reply?

I'm friendly with the boy's uncle who was part of the team representing him when he went for a medical and signed the contract at Melwood on Monday morning. The boy was being chased by basically every big club in England and also by Real Madrid, where he spent a week training in January or February I think it was. Barcelona had tried to get him to visit them but he refused as apparently his time in Madrid put him off moving to a continental country. Saying that though, I don't know how good he is as I've never seen him play.
[ps: I was the first person to post this, check the banter page on Tuesday or Wednesday. He did not sign for LFC today as others have said, but on Monday morning after being a guest at the Spurs game.]

RE: "19 May 2011 05:59:10
Ed's, how likely do you think it is that we end up signing Dmitri Payet? Been having a look around different sites and the talk seems to be he will sign here for LFC. What do you think? Cheers! {Ed002's Note - If Liverpool can overcome the embarrassment of Comolli going back on his word that he would not raid Saint Etienne for their players, winger Dimitri Payet would be a realistic and available buy in the summer. A possibly more viable option than Mata, and a player who wants out of St Et. The opposition will be Paris Saint Germain and possibly Lille. I think there is a good chance and we know that there is interest and that Comolli has at least approached his old employer.}"

ED, just a thought on this topic. Would it be possible to approach Saint Etienne via Daglish himself or Ian Ayre rather than Comolli? That way Comolli has not gone back on his word and a deal can still be done. Based purely on the testimony of former workmates of Comolli's, he doesn't seem the type of person to put the club before himself, but if he is not willing to do this for the good of the club surely he is not worth having. Would appreciate your thoughts ED.

{Ed002's Note - No, it is the responsibility of Comolli and he has been in contact with St-Et already.}

Hi Eds, been tracking the site for a while, impressive work! Noticed some suggestions the signing of Romelu Lukaku is a possibility, just curious how likely that one is? Does he look likely to finally move on this summer one way or another? Think he would be a brilliant coup for us. Cheers! {Ed002's Note - Chelsea, Spurs, Real Madrid, Juventus, Barcelona, Liverpool, Arsenal, Ajax and AC Milan have shown an interest. Anderlecht want €30M and that was enough to make all of the really interested parties scoff at any deal. They are now hawking him around with several option based deals offered up. Less rather than more than likely to move to Anfield.}

Will be a huge summer for Liverpool FC, am told the club is close to agreeing fees with Valencia for Mata(around 23m) and with Blackburn for Phil Jones(around 15m), also heard they want to sign A.Young, Enrique, Zhirkov, Joe Ledley and Sergio Aguero. Looking to sell N'gog, Poulsen, J.Cole, Konchesky, Jones, Kyrgiakos and im told that Jovanovic has agreed to go back to Standard Leige

You should get about a fiver for the players listed as being sold!

19 May 2011 17:02:21
Ed apparently we are in talks with Ajax over Jan Vertonghen according to Tribal Football ? any truth ? cheers, {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any confirmed interest. There are 100s of links per day and I cannot be expected to sit and say yea or nae to everything written.}

ed, what are the chances of perotti signing, do you think it would be a back up plan if young can be signed? {Ed002's Note - There has been interest from Liverpool, Everton, Aston Villa and Spurs. There is a good chance that he could make the move - a very viable option.}

Ed's much in the rumours re Torres, or just mischief? I think too much has been said n done tho, can't c alot of our fans going 4 it.

{Ed002's Note - Personally I very much doubt that Torres will be returning to play for Liverpool this summer.}

Ed, did u see the interview on sky sports with Neymar, he mentions how he hopes chelsea come back in for him as he wants to play in europe and admires players in the premier league. Drogba, Lampard and Gerrard. if he admires Gerrard so much, somebody should tell John W. Henry to jump on his private jet with Stevie and fly to brazil and convince the lad to sign for us. he would be an amazing coup. What are ur thoughts on this??? {Ed002's Note - Nymar to Liverpool. Sure, go for it.}

Looking to sell N'gog, Poulsen, J.Cole, Konchesky, Jones, Kyrgiakos and im told that Jovanovic has agreed to go back to Standard Leige.

Liverpool are being linked with Olympique Lyon defender Dejan Lovren.

The Croatia international has been watched extensively by Reds chief Damien Comolli this season.

Lovren has expressed an ambition to move to a bigger competition and has been linked with Real Madrid.

Now 21, Lovren moved to Lyon last January and is firmly established as a first-choice at the French giants. Kev

alex o'hanlon is a fantastic talent, i coached st. kevins boys u18s last year and saw him playin for the u14s a lot, he will be a star if he is coached properly, nice lad as well. he played left whenever iv seen him but has the skill to play further forward as well. this could prove to be a real coup for us.

I posted the other day regarding Torres and the fact that he may be on his way back to Liverpool. This seems to be gathering pace as I have now heard that he could well be coming back for a fee of around £25-30 mil. I'm not sure what to believe to be honest, however, I for one would like to see him back at the club. Has anyone heard anything similar regarding this matter? I'd be interrested to know what you've heard (if anything) also, ed.

Hi there Ed's

Great website gives all of us gossip queens something to do in silly season. I just wanted to say I stick by my proclamation we will sign Downing but I have also heard whispers today that we are going to gatecrash the sale of Marin to Spurs which may start a bidding war. Marin is open to offers and hasnt got a desired destination. Also Vargas im being reliably informed is not an option due to his age and doesent fit into NESV's transfer philosophy. Would appreciate your thoughts. Keep up the stellar work guys, kudos to all of the Ed's

Hi Eds,

One last question on ARDA TURAN.

Why has Kenny dropped his interest in him?

Or

Was there any documented / proof of our interest in him with Rafa or anyone with the owners backing out.

It's all gone so quiet around him and also no threads in Lilverpool forum page. Very strange.

I wish he is our surprise signing for the next season.
(very good player, wants to come and wouldn't cost a fortune)

BTW very good job Ed's. Keep it up. Great site.

{Ed002's Note - Arda Turan looks Atletico Madrid bound. Talks have been going on for a while and he will move this summer. Dortmund apparently, remain interested but Villarreal have dropped any interest that they had. Spurs have dipped their toe in the water over the player and I suspect Valencia are keeping a watchful eye on matters. I am surprised that Liverpool have not followed up the interest they previously had in the player.}

Reading the rumours from various sources, i believe Liverpool are prioritising the signing of wingers this summer, ideally i would like to see Mata come in but i see this as unlikely due to Manchester Citys interest. Considering this i believe Ashley Young will join' along with Hazard. Who will be the suprise signing one of the ed's has mentioned. Also Marveaux, who will be used as back up.
I cannot see Liverpool spending big on another striker ie (Benzema) rather consolidating what we have already got by replacing Ngog with someone a little more useful, perhaps someone young (Long, Chamberlin, )

Aguero will not come in!

What are your thoughts eds?

Harding

{Ed002's Note - Perhaps, but I am not convinced about Hazard. Vargas may be the solution to the left hand side.}
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
We have Kuyt, if two quality wingers are brought in!

19 May 2011 13:41:56
Berbatov will be up for sale and will cost around 7-10m, i think he would be a perfect 3rd striker and at his age he should be thankful a club like Liverpool would want to sign him.

Benzema to Spam Utd for allegedly 40m. So Berba is definitely off. .

I would like Liverpool to sign:
Eden Hazard,
Yann M'Vila,
Gervinho,
Neven Subotić,
Charles N'Zogbia (back up)

and ed do you think that players like Adel Taarabt and Jay Bothroyd who will be a free agent and could be good signings as they would want to prove there prem standard players?

{Ed002's Note - I expect Bothroyd will want regular first team action. I think Taarabt may have offers from sunnier climes to consider.}

surely noone in the club wants him back and he's past it now anyways

Consider him a cheaper Eden Hazard.

Source: ESPN SOCCERNET

Vargas is reported to be high on Liverpool's summer shopping list and the Director of Football Damien Comolli is willing to spend up to 20 million to bring the player to Anfield.

The versatile Peru international can fill in at full-back or on the wing, both of which are positions that need strengthening at Liverpool.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Juventus have all been linked to the 27-year-old and his agent, Jorge Cyterszpiler, has confirmed there are a number of clubs chasing Vargas' signature.

"Fiorentina are a great club but there are many teams interested in Juan, " Cyterszpiler told Sky Italia. "We'll see if some agreement is reached, if this does not happen, Juan will happily stay at Fiorentina. We are still waiting to see what happens."

Vargas would prefer to join Real Madrid but the prospect of regular first-team football could tempt the player to join Kenny Dalglish's side.

{Ed002's Note - You mean like did Sissoko start twitching uncontrollably? Actually it was said to Sissoko's agent - I very much doubt that Comolli has spoken to the player at this time. He is a 5/10 and all appears quiet right now.}

Oh now I've got the sarcasim treatment. . ;-)
Sorry yes I meant the agent, no not twitching exactly more full on convulsions but failing that at least some sort of positive response to make us return with a formal bid. Do you know if Andre Ayew is a target?

Ben Richards

{Ed002's Note - I am aware that Liverpool have asked Marseille to keep them informed about Ayew - rather like Hazard.}

19 May 2011 12:44:47
Ed i was just wondering do you no any teams who are interested in our players? Thanks. Pops {Ed002's Note - Aside from the obvious (Aquilani) and the generic (Jovanovic will leave if the contract can be renegotiated or terminated), then nothing of real note. I imagine there is still interest in Reina from certain parties.}

19 May 2011 12:31:20
Ed002, keep up the sarcastic replies to the nonsense questions. . seriously funny! Question. . you mentioned how Commoli outlined his vision for Sissoko i.e. Gerrard's long term replacement, are you able to say how Sissoko responded? Was it positive or enthusiastic? It's just when you do those ratings out of 10 I believe he's usually a 4 which might suggest he's not as enthusiastic about the transfer or indeed there are a million other reasons the transfer would not go ahead.

Thanks in advance, if you can't answer this no problem. .

Ben Richards

{Ed002's Note - You mean like did Sissoko start twitching uncontrollably? Actually it was said to Sissoko's agent - I very much doubt that Comolli has spoken to the player at this time. He is a 5/10 and all appears quiet right now.}

I am not so sure so many players will be sold but two perhaps three of your youngsters lists will probably be leaving. So not bad.}

19 May 2011 12:04:10
Scott Dann or Phill Jones? Similar prices, both young, albeit Jones is younger. I personally can't decide, on one hand you have a scouser who is an old school type of defender, on the other hand you have a youngster who will one day be an England regular. So why not both? With Wilson, Kelly, Ayala, Carra, Skrtel, Agger, if these two were to be on our books it would mean 8 CB fighting for a place. Too many imo! Agger looks set to leave, Skrtel's future in doubt, Carra knocking on the door of retirement. Too me Wilson although young and played at left back everytime he has made an appearance, looks suspect. Personally, i would take a punt and buy them both, then over a couple of seasons weed out the weaker players. What do you guys think?

19 May 2011 11:52:15
Ed, i hear we are looking at Yann M'villa and Blaise Matuidi. Why are we after a defensive mid? We have Lucas who is the top tackler in England and Spearing who is a quality tackler. When we sell Poulsen we will be covered in centre mid cos we also have Gerrard, Meireles and Shelvey. I can sort of understand us getting Sissoko cos he is a good box to box player but there is no need for a defensive mid. Have you noticed that when we have been playing good attacking football-which is only going to improve next year- our defenders have had less to do. For the most part, defensive mids hinder attacking football and encourage negative football. Do you think a player i mentioned will be on his way out to make way for a dm? Otherwise we will be overstaffed in that position and players like Spearing, Shelvey and youngsters won't get a chance.

{Ed002's Note - Nobody has suggested a DM player leaving which is interesting (Lucas perhaps?). I think to be fair Liverpool are looking to improve the squad and add depth as there was without doubt a lack of quality in depth when Dalglish took over. The left back situation is probably the best example of that. But you are right, there is probably going to be someone leaving from central midfield to accommodate someone coming in. The other point of note is teh seeming improvement in Spearing over the past couple of months - maybe that will influence things?}

hi ed, im hearing strong rumors that lfc are in talks with brazilian playmaker diego who has had a massive falling out with wolfsburg, have you heard anything in relation to this.

red gerry {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest from Liverpool but I doubt the club would want to take a risk on a player who was thrown out of Juventus after a year taking a £10M loss on the transfer and who has since walked out on Wolfsburg three times this year (although I appreciate the situation at Wolfsburg is dire under Magath and the new regime). So I guess it is doubtful at best.}

Morning ed,
Just wanted to know who is all after Young / who has actually put in an offer for him, and finally do we have a good chance of getting him if Manchester United come in for him as well.
Personally I would prefer Albrighton, is there any chance if getting him in
Thanks a lot ed.

Great news if true Rob, thanks. He's the best English centre half in the league by a mile. Look how bad Brum have done while he's been out? I'd much prefer Dann or Jones over Cahill any day, who is going to be ridiculously over-priced anyway.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

If Birmingham get relegated there could be a good chance of this happening if we show real interest. Otherwise Birmingham could ask for too much, if the player isn't good long term value it's hard to see us signing him.

{Ed002's Note - The interest is genuine and it is nothing to do with Birmingham being relegated.}

I have a nailed on rumour ed so please post in rumours as this is 100% going to happen. . . . . LIVERPOOL WILL SIGN A NEW HERO.

I will tell you how I know?

I know because anyone who does well in the mighty reds shirt is a hero for me , it doesn't matter whether they cost £6 or 60 million when they do the business for the club I love they are worth more to me than your Aguero's or Messi's.
I will wait to see who this hero is as my source is vague but I guarantee one of our new signings will show his worth.

Adam Johnson, Scott Dann, Bojan Krkic are getting very close.
Ashley Young is almost done.

Peter Bruckner and Darren Burgess will probably be coming back to Australia soon. They were recruited by 'Rafa the Gaffer' and KK doesn't really go for their medical science to the same degree.

Well eds

Was just wondering what u think of Owen coming back . Out of contract no one being linked good be a done deal pay as you play. I think he would be good back up. .

Pablo ynwa {Ed002's Note - I think it unlikely and I think the Liverpool supporting Eds would have some sort of fit.}

Great news if true Rob, thanks. He's the best English centre half in the league by a mile. Look how bad Brum have done while he's been out? I'd much prefer Dann or Jones over Cahill any day, who is going to be ridiculously over-priced anyway.

Pato is to be the first signing of the summer for LFC. Other than that its any1s guess as to who is coming in.

i live in brazil and have heard neymar and ganso are heading to anfield for combined fee of 40m {Ed002's Note - At least we won't have another day harping on about Aguero or Hazard. You should sign your posts.}

19 May 2011 09:13:53
I heard on a radio show last night that Chelsea will be spending somewhere near 200million over the Summer & both Manchester's somewhere near the same. We will have to settle for the scraps after they are finished feeding.

{Ed002's Note - I havd not heard the Shankly quote before, but it makes a lot of sense to me.}

It was apparently what Shankly said to Taylor many moons ago, or so he said. I can't see Taylor coming out with a statement like that can you?

I live in France and follow the French Ligue 1.
Lille are about to wrap up the French title and gain CL football - not sure whether Eden Hazard will move as he is always stating in his rare interveiws that he wants to progress and learn slowly and take his career one step at a time.
The French league is poor - although Eden Hazard is the best player by far in the league but he looks good as other players around him are poor.
Gourcuff looked great at Bordeaux but has been dreadfull this season at Lyon and didn't cut it at Milan AC.
He also has a lot of problems in whatever dressing room he goes to.
If I were Liverpool I would look at M VILA from Rennes who will now perhaps not even qualify for the Europa league and also Sahko from PSG who is very solid for hs age.
Do not go for Payet - a few goals beginning of the season but not good enough for even a UK championship side

Yeah your right you are a moran, i think we shud really enquire about hulk from porto and play a front 3 when going foward with suarez an hulk covering the wings whrn defending like chelsea do, any thoughts ed?? {Ed002's Note - None. Hulk is aked about a lot, nothing will change.}
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I've gone right off Hulk now. Graham Taylor doesn't rate him and he picked some of the worst England players ever to pull on a shirt! One thing he said that I did like though was from the mouth of the great Bill Shankly "If you need to watch a player more than 3 times, he's not worth signing".

{Ed002's Note - I agree in that I think there is a very, very good chance of this. I appreciate that he is no Aguero or Hazard, but if a deal can be completed I think it is a better solution than could be provided by Cahill, for example. As an aside, the only reason I think there could be an issue is Dann's fitness after his injury. As far as I know he is not even back doing light training yet.}

Morning all.
A quick qu for the duty ed,
Juan Vargas.
As my old exam papers used to say - compare and contrast in less than 1000 words.
Lol, but thoughts ed pls. Any good as I don't know him?
KB

{Ed002's Note - Vargas is different from the other left sided players being looked at as he is a proper wing wing back with a very good goalscoring record - although many come from free kicks. His crossing is excellent (Le Saux at his best) and Fiorentina accept he will leave. Arsenal, Benfica, Bayern Munich and Zenit St Petersburg have also shown an interest. Will not be cheap.}

Liverpool have signed Irish youth International Alex O'Hanlon from St. Kevins Boys Club in Dublin. The 15yr old highly regarded prospect has been likened to Tottenhams Gareth Bale and was being courted by Manchester United, Real Madrid, Everton, Chelsea and Arsenal before Liverpool swooped in to land the youngster.

The signing of this young full-back signals the intention of Kenneth Dalglish to sign top prospects throughout Europe and rumours indicate that St. Kevins Boys Club will receive compensation for training upto and possibly exceeding £1,000,000.

Morning Ed's

In your opinions do you think that we have some preliminary agreements in place to sign targets when the window officially opens. ( I am not including the rumour about Marveux in this) ?.

Do you think that we will drag our heels on transfers right up until the end of the window as in previous years?

You seem to be in favour of a move for Falcao , don't know enough about him to comment , but will take your opinion on him.

REDFORLIFE

{Ed002's Note - I don't know of any preliminary agreements other than Sylvain Marveaux. Even though buying clubs want to complete transactions as soon as possible, selling clubs are keen to ensure that they get the best deal so may wish to hang on (as in the transfer of Suarez). Falcao is a very good player and has been watched by many of Europe's elite. For me, I expect the Porto side to stay together with the Coach Andre Villas Boas and to take a shot to see how far this side can get in the Champions League - remember 2003 and 2004? We will have to wait and see but I really cannot see it happening.}

Ed's, how likely do you think it is that we end up signing Dmitri Payet? Been having a look around different sites and the talk seems to be he will sign here for LFC. What do you think? Cheers! {Ed002's Note - If Liverpool can overcome the embarrassment of Comolli going back on his word that he would not raid Saint Etienne for their players, winger Dimitri Payet would be a realistic and available buy in the summer. A possibly more viable option than Mata, and a player who wants out of St Et. The opposition will be Paris Saint Germain and possibly Lille. I think there is a good chance and we know that there is interest and that Comolli has at least approached his old employer.}

Mata's agent wasnt impressed with melwood or comoli yesterday. . but we have now stepped up our efforts to sign eden hazard.reina wanted mata as they are good friends but hopefully we can get eden.fingers crossed.

- - - - - -

How do you know this?

what a crock! ! if his agent wasnt impressed by melwood he can't know anything about football, melwood is one of the best training bases in the uk & probably europe, i don't know about the comolli part but not melwood.

A mate of mine went to the same school as morten gamst pedersen. He told me his agent (Rune Hauge) had been in Liverpool talks. i don't know how reliable this source is, but i think he would be a great addition to our squad. good fk taker, good passes norwegian international regular first choice. plus he would come cheap too.
