Ed002 if I may, I think I read couple days ago that you was of opinion that Wijnaldum would probably sign a new deal at lfc? Is this still the likely outcome in your opinion, I have just read that Real Madrid are circling aswel. as inter and Barcelona so was hoping you could give us your insight?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Gini Wijnaldum (CM) was offered to Barcelona by his representative as Liverpool had not offered him a new contract. Barcelona are continuing to deal with other priorities, but the coach was interested in the player who would be well priced in January - although they may opt to look to a pre-contract instead. However, the coach is vulnerable to being eased out after the election so the club may want to avoid committing to spending money beyond their primary targets. I am not aware of any interest from Real Madrid and their plans for next summer are clear – whether there is a change of coach or not. If the player were to be in the position to talk directly to other clubs in January, there is a chance that Inter Milan could look to seeing if he will sign a pre-contract. Whilst all of these options may be tempting for the player, the ball remains very much in Liverpool’s Court. My expectation is that Klopp will ask the club to offer him a new deal and that Wijnaldum will be happy to agree to it.}

Good chap ed002, i think gini is a great squad player so aslong as financially makes sense i would be offering him a new contract if I was klopp/ lfc board. I know its lfc page but I would presume Real Madrid plans involve a certain Kylian Mbappe?

{Ed002's Note - Ideally they do but is is not clear cut any longer.}

ed002 surely Juventus will be in the mix they love players out of contract.

{Ed002's Note - Right now their midfield interest is in two others they want to add
rather than GW.}

Cant sell him just cant. He is the only ever fit midfielder we have. He is never ever injured that should itself be worth whatever his salary demands etc. Are.
Give him a new deal!

I’ve said all along that it would be a surprise to me if he were to be allowed to leave.
The only thing is his age, just turned 30.
He’ll probably be looking for a 3 years or more contract, whether Liverpool will agree to that is the question.
Personally, he’s so durable and physically fit, he’ll be another James Milner, playing at a high level past 35 if he chooses.
He’s definitely worth a 3 years contract in my book, probably 4 years too.

ed002 I think Gini has earned a 3 year contract would not got to for 4 maybe 3 years with an 1 year option. But the club do need to do work with age of the squad with are younger Midfielders not at the same level Naby nowhere near Ox injuries and Jones as much as I like him needs to up his game an awful lot to be a first choice and Grujic does not look like his going to get a chance here what is a shame as I think his better than all the midfielders we have below are first choice ones. Ed how as Grujic been getting on on loan.

{Ed002's Note - I think it will be down to Klopp.}

I remember when Gini was purchased the amount of inappropriate flack he and the club got on this site. Indeed the amount of unnecessary rubbishing that was going on back then. I know results matter but building and then believing does too and too many never believed in the build - I didn’t then see too many saying we were wrong about a lot of things including Gini!

I agree with The Juicer. I think Wijnaldum is a player who could continue at almost the same level well into his mid-thirties. He doesn't have any history of serious injuries, as far as I'm aware, clearly takes good care of himself physically and is a very versatile and adaptable player who can fulfil various roles in midfield.

Dare you to name which 2 midfielders Juventus are looking at?

Why do people think ben white is better than Joe Gomez? His dropped off after the restart, but that happened to the whole team. Joe Gomez is the best english cb. He's a title winning cb we should be looking to add homegrown players in other areas of the pitch.
