outs in the summer will be carra retiring coates jones assaidi might go spearing carrol downing wilson will leave on a free and wisdom will go out on loan ins will be a new centre back cover at left back a second choice goalkeeper one that will actually give reina copetion and a new midfielder

You really think we're going to let 9 players go?!

01 Mar 2013 23:51:43
Reina is going, pure folly my friend. Outs will be Reina, Skrtel, Carroll. Then others may include Spearing, Assaidi

Wisdom has been able to go out on loan for 3-4 seasons yet stayed at Liverpool, he's played regularly this year, he's not going out on loan now when he's pushing for a 1st team place. I can't believe what some people post

Thanks for the info Brendan.

Why should Downing leave he gas been brilliant this season!

3 dutch based players will be arriving at anfield this summer, stefan vrij, wilfried bony and the brilliant christian eriksen. Players will have to leave in order to accommodate these players. Expect Carroll, coates, assaidi and skertel all to be shown the exit door.

Absolute nonsense.

So with Carragher retiring, we're going to sell both Skrtel & Coates and replace 3 of our 4 defenders with Stefan de Vrij. Absolute rubbish

I think whoever posted this is Dutch based, been in the coffee shop all day?

It is likely that Skrtel and Coates will leave but more than De Vrij will be signed

Just playing devils advocate here but he never said those were the only signings.

And eriksen will sign for spurs

I would take them 3 and that would put us top 3.

Excellent if we would pull this out!

The problem with Eriksen, is that he has so many better offers available, and that he himself has said that he does not feel he is up to the physicality if the premier league.
We will not sign him.

Martin skertel, Stewart downing, Andy Carroll will lead an exodus of players leaving Liverpool this summer. fringe players like brad Jones, jay spearing will also be moved on.

Im really upset that Skrtel will be leaving. But if we can get decent money for him and put it to good use I'll be happy. The likes of Downing, Carroll, Jones, Spearing. Just need to get them of the books.

Why should Downing leave?

Downing has been outstanding thus season.

Because he's useless.

Again Downing outstanding thus season.

Downing outstanding? Do me a favour he's the definition of average. If you think he's been outstanding I fear for our great club.

Downing has played well enough to increase his value again to maybe £8m. Other than increasing his value he is of no use to us long term. He's a quick winger who seems to never take people on and he's been average this season. (much improved but still only average)

Downing will be 29 this summer. While he has improved this season, it is difficult to argue he is essential to the team. This will be our last chance to recoup some funds from his sale, and invest in a longer term alternative.

Downing has definitely been above average this season. to say we might only recoup £8 mil is senseless. Sunderland offered £10 million + wickham for him in the winter window. so bang goes that theory

Downing second best player all season!

thisfrankyscouse conspiracy site and this is directed to edd02 I don't post rumors I just read them my question to you is, you alluded to that you think every major club around Europe will spend big this season with the FFP rules kicking in soon, so does that mean we are going to see silly prices paid?

cheers for the reply. {Ed002's Note - In my view you will see record spending this summer and plenty of players moving clubs. "Silly prices" or not I don't know.}

Thank you Oblio. {Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

If record spending then it must be some silly prices I think - we've already had a couple of mad windows here and there! {Ed002's Note - This, I suspect, will be the most significant.}

Ffp will fail

Significant in the number of players spent or the prices, ed?

Thanks

ChrisMiz {Ed002's Note - No.}

Question for Ed002 if he's around,
If Bayern or Juventus were to bag Lewandowski, do you think that would affect their intrest in Suarez?
Thanks {Ed002's Note - Neither has an interest in Lewandowski.}

Bayern most certainly do have an interest in Lewandowski. In fact it's his most likely destination. {Ed002's Note - Or not as the case may be. Bayern Munich has a number of "targets" identified with their new manager - he isn't one of them.}

01 Mar 2013 17:43:48
Ah that's a shame Ed!
Thanks for your help!

Hi Ed002, thanks for the info.

Apart from United - do you know of any interest from elsewhere in Lewandowski? Would you see United as a likely destination or somewhere else?

Thanks,

HBadger {Ed002's Note - Lewandowski was considered in the past year by Liverpool, PSG, Real Madrid, Rubin Kazan, Manchester United, Spartak Moscow (who were concerned about losing Welliton), Juventus (although they now have Llorente), Arsenal and Lille.}

Hello Eds

I understand through the search function that we are interested in De Vrij, but he is very sought after by other clubs. Do you know if any other clubs have had offers rejected for him, and how big were they if they have? Thanks {Ed002's Note - Feyenoord's Stefan de Vrij was the subject of interest from Arsenal and Newcastle in the summer and a number of clubs have taken a look at the player this season including Spartak Moscow, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool. He is club captain where he is and I would think unlikely to want to move anywhere to find his opportunities of playing are reduced.}

Eds and Reds,
What are the chances of Liverpool going for Wilfried Bony?
What are the chances of Liverpool going for Dries Mertens? {Ed002's Note - Perhaps; unlikely.}

Sorry eds I know you may have answered similar question but I want to know whether our interest in sanchez is dependant on suarez leaving or is he a genuine target for us? thank you
el capitano {Ed002's Note - I suspect it would be dependent on Suarez leaving.}

Suarez is going nowhere. He has shown his loyalty again

Can we ot forget about sanchez, great individual skills to beat players, scores very few goals though, and crosses are pretty poor, I was frankly stunned that barca bought him

Ed02 I know this another suarez question but do you really think that suarez would keep saying he wants to stay then suddenly leave? Wouldn't that turn the fans on him afterwards? Although I know you said that around 30 million he's aloud to talk to other clubs so that kinda makes me think whether he's 100% sure. I'm a bit confused over what will happen tbh

London red {Ed002's Note - I really would not hang off every word he says.}

Does seem odd that he'd be repeatedly giving the same message over and over that he has no intention of leaving this year unless Liverpool want him to if he was actually pushing for a move. Of course his head could still be turned but it seems to be like he has no intention of asking Liverpool to go and find a buyer, which is fair enough

Just believe Suarez.

Ed's no offence to any of you and I know you may turn out to be right but I just don't buy into the part where u said 35M is enough to give the chance to speak with Suarez. If it is true then I just want the Owners to think hard on it, even from their usual business point of view, that is hardly a sum that's going to get us a player like for like in today's market. Hell, I even doubt if we were to receive 50M and it was ALL put to find his replacement, we won't get that!. {Ed001's Note - being able to talk to someone is totally different from being allowed to leave for that sum.}

Hello Eds,
Is it true we are looking to sign Alex pearce on a free transfer from Reading?
if so, him alongwith De vrij (who should cost around 8 million pounds) should effectively replace Skrtel and Coates. So with the money saved do you reckon we could go for a top class GK (Begovic, Vorm, Leno)?
I still can't get my head roung the idea of replacing Reina with al-Habsi. It almost brings tears ro my eyes. : ( {Ed002's Note - Perhaps is the best I can say about Pearce. There is certainly interest in De Vrij. I am not sure that this would impact the goalkeeping choices.}

Replacing reina with al habsi brings tears to your eyes, but replacing skrtel and coates with alex pearce is fine?!?!

Alex pearce will most likely be 3rd or 4th choice CB after De vrij, Kelly and Agger (possibly Wisdom too). While Al-Habsi will be 1st choice GK. Now please tell me which is worse.
Idjit.

Ya I agree with Al Habsi no1 being more terrifying, superb on his day but been off form all season. Why would we sell Reina for being off form to replace him with someone with 60% of his capabilities who is also off form. can't see it

A good keeper earns you 15 points a season.

Replacing a decent GK (Reina) with an average keeper (Al-Habsi) is NOT the way forward. If that that happens, I would seriously doubt Brendan's capability as manager.

is alexis sanchez a target for Liverpool in the summer? how high will they bid for him if yes?
bala {Ed002's Note - Try the search engine please.}

Hi Eds,

Kyriakos Papadopoulos from Schalke embodies everything we are looking for in a partner for Agger. He is strong, quick, brave, young and a born leader. In a nutshell this guy is John Terry 2. 0. There's been rumours in the past that we were in for him, is there any chance this Summer? Or is Howedes the one out the door at Schalke? {Ed002's Note - He is not a player that I am aware of any interest in from Liverpool right now.}

Wouldn't Schalke also want a lot of money for him? I heard that he was being chased by 5 or 6 top European teams.

Im sure he was mentioned at least 2 seasons ago as a possible summer target back then, he was around 19 at time

John Terry 2. 0? So he comes with loads of baggage and a bad rep? Steer well clear IMO.

More JT on the field than off it I was referring to. Think Terry with pace. That's Papadopoulos.
