Liverpool are preparing a £16mil bid for Leighton Baines. Liverpool are willing to give Everton Nathan Eccleston as part of the deal. Gary Cahill could be joining as well, although liverpool's £14mil bid is still a couple mil short of Boltons valuation.

Ed, what are the chances (out if 10) we will sign: Lavezzi, Sissoko, Phil Jones, Enrique (sp), A quality winger? Who? {Ed002's Note - 4, 5, don't know - I have nothing on Jones aside from what the press says, 4, Marveaux 9}

Who would you take as LB Dirks? I'd be happy with Enrique but i'd be over the moon with Allay Cissoko.

Blair Mayne YNWA

For the money being quoted Enrique is hugely over priced. Not seen enough of Cissoko recently, but he looked very impressive when at Porto. Coentrao can't defend. Same for Clichy as well. Warnock would be squad player. With Johnson, Fabio and Robinson maybe we could save a few quid.

At the moment I'd rather spend elsewhere, a couple of wingers would be useful.

Kelly played well there too Dirks when asked. So now maybe LB isn't as much a priority. We've got 3 that we've already seen that can easily play there. But i would like a experienced left footed LB and Allay Cissokho looks the part but he will be pricey. If we could have got Tawio for free then this could have been perfect for us. Then the extra money could have went somewhere else.

If Cissokho was on our wanted list then he's probably not as high on that list because of the way Glen has played there. And the emergance of Flanagan.

Ed, what do you think of Ramsay? I'm not just asking this after his goal today, before he got injured I thought he was brilliant. Although, it seems Wilshere is preferred now, so do you think Liverpool could be interested and would he be?

{Ed002's Note - Why would he leave Arsenal? Fabregas will probably leave and Wilshere and Ramsey step up on place.}

It is rumoured that Liverpool already have made under the table verbal deals. Silvain Marvoux and Ezekiel Lavezzi will be Liverpool's first two summer signings.

Expect Liverpool to sign a left back, Center back, Left Winger and a world class player.

It is believed that in total there will be 11 players leaving with several youth academy players promoted to the squad.

Could you elaborate a bit on this please pal as for me signing Lavezzi would be the finishing touch to a formidable strike force. Suarez, carrol and Lavezzi! My goodness, they'd run amock next year. Lavezzi's a fantastic footballer with good centre of gravity not to disimilar to Messi and ideal for the premiership. A solid centre half and a defensive left back and we hav a squad to push for the Title.

{Ed002's Note - {Blair, regardless of all of the speculation about other players from Toulouse being watched, I stand by my original position that with the transfer window approaching and interest in Toulouse's Moussa Sissoko from both Juventus and Milan on the rise, Liverpool will be looking to tie up a deal for the player - which I think would be a really great addition to the squad. Damien Comolli has already let Sissoko's agent know that Liverpool see his man as the ideal long-term replacement for Steven Gerrard. Aside from strong interest from Juventus and AC Milan, Genoa and probably Napoli are also interested.}

So Ed002, do you reckon we could agree a deal before the transfer window opens? I heard he'd prefer a move to England too.

{Ed002's Note - In principle, yes it is possible.}

01 May 2011 21:24:29
Anyone any idea what centre halfs/ left backs our scouts are tracking? For me the options being rumoured don't stand up to what we've got. I'm not to impressed with Cahill/ Jones and thought Enrique was poor today. I spoke to a Stoke fan today, I didn't realise Robert Huth's only 25. In my opinion a more favourable option than Jones or cahill. {Ed002's Note - And home grown.}

01 May 2011 21:25:27
Liverpool have dropped all interest in Charlie Adam! DC was never keen on him and Dalglish is no longer keen either. Some top European talent has been scouted with more potential and better resale value. Heard Nuri Sahin's name been mentioned a lot. Also Shelvey will be a more prominent figure in the Liverpool side next season!

01 May 2011 21:31:09
Ed, What do you think of K Babacar from Fiorentina?
Also whats Iker Muniain like as a prospect? {Ed005's Note - I don't know much about Babacar, I've heard decent things. Muniain is a great prospect in my opinion. Watched him a lot this season.}

How strong is the interest in Muniain? How much do you think he will cost ? {Ed002's Note - I refer to my earlier answer.}

01 May 2011 21:15:02
Liverpool to sign Demba Ba from West Ham if they go down for £6million and James MaCarthy from Wigan for £8million plus Shelvey on loan.

01 May 2011 20:49:46
{Ed002's Note - This is the liklihood of players joining - some players are of interest to the club and some either aren't of interest, aren't available or would not move to the club. It is not rocket science to know that Neymar is not moving to Liverpool. But there is a chance that Sissoka, for example, will be making the move.}

That's a few times you Ed's have giving Sissoko as an example Ed. Is this just an example or have you heard somthing? I read somthing about Commolli meeting with his club a few weeks ago. But i'd rather listen to you Ed's (with has been proven to be correct). If we are getting him Ed how good is he mate? I havn't seen anything of him.

If west ham get relegated stacks of their players are gunna leave, this can make it easier for bigger clubs to swoop in and buy them
aka scott parker

parker
gerrard-adam-meireles

what a midfield. {Ed002's Note - Scott Parker has to be in his 30s and even though he is a good player there will be no resale value. I think it pretty unlikely that Liverpool would be interested in him.}

Hi Ed's do you think Torres would be seen in a brighter light if he was to score the goals to stop utd winning the title???

Anyway rumours has it were buying A young, S Downing, Mvila, G Cahill, Baines and Defoe! !

Half of these are alreadt done! !

Redman 10 {Ed001's Note - I really don't have any interest in how Torres is seen, he is gone.}

Liverpool are tracking Iker Muniain the kid dubbed Bart by Atletico Bilbao team-mates, who claim he is a dead-ringer for Homer Simpson s son.

Reds scouts have spent several months watching the 18-year-old winger, who has been one of the revelations of La Liga this season.

Muniain s contract, which has a £25m buy-out clause, runs until 2015 and Bilbao do not want to lose the Spain Under-21 international.

Read this earlier, but like it has been mentioned, we have been linked before.

LFC have had an eye on this kid since he was about 16. Huge potential in my opinion, also have a friend who goes out to Spain to watch Spanish football, and for some reason he has a soft spot for Bilbao and he reckon's the lad is special.

Better option than N'Gog from the bench!

Right I will shut up about this, and see what happens!

Interesting rumour that I just heard about Gerrard not sure if it has been posted before, but anyway - last summer Gerrard was all set to go to Madrid had set his heart on it , apparently the MAdrid chairman pulled the plug because he wanted Ozil , not saying that this is going to happen this summer as obviously things have changed dramatically this year , just thought I, d share what I heard

01 May 2011 10:29:49
Ed is there genuine intrest in iker munian or just paper talk. He looks a great young prospect who doesn't get much publicity over here.
Cheers
Dj {Ed002's Note - There has been interest in Muniain in the past, but I don't know of anything new. But it is plausible.}

01 May 2011 10:30:34
{Ed002's Note - M'Vila is a defensive midfielder - Sissoko is perhaps more like Gerrard. I think he is a very good player.}

Going to be a great partnership for France. Any chance of them both arriving at Anfield this summer?

{Ed002's Note - I refer you to earlier answers.}

So Ed002, Comolli's already spoken with Sissoko's agent? Woudn't that be tapping up though? Or have his club been spoken to and some figures agreed? Also, would Toulose be keen on a deal involving Ngog?

As for Yann, have we held serious talks with both club and (subsequently) the player? Where at the current moment does the player look to be headed?
If you were to put your head on the block, will Yann and Moussa be LFC players come September 1st?

Lastly, we known that:
-Arseanal have made a bid for Sakho and are aggressively pursuing him
-Bayern are strongly pushing for Wiel and Coentrao
-Juventus, City, Barca, Atletico, Valencia, Milan teams, Chelsea, United have all put in bids for some of their targets

Liverpool on the other hand have done bugger all except "watch" players? Why oh why the bloody hell aren't we moving, huh?
We want Sakho, right? So why the f*** are we dragging our heels?
We want Yann and Moussa, right?
Why the f*** then aren't we tying up deals for them, WHY?

I mean if you've identified your targets, you got out there and get them?
Why the snail's pace?
Is Parry back again?
Ed, why is this? Why aren't we making bids and tying up deals for the players?

JHBRed

{Ed002's Note - No deals can be tied up until the transfer window or international transfer window opens. Certainly Liverpool has been as active as anyone in this market and certainly Liverpool know a lot better than to even consider tapping players up. With clubs resigned to losing players in the coming transfer window they will provide players' agents and representatives permission to talk to other clubs or in some cases they will agree a fee for a player subject to terms being agreed with the player. What they will generally avoid is a player being distracted by him being personally involved in discussions. It is up to Comolli and his staff to get Liverpool in to a position where they can attract the players to the club. Not having Champions League football next season will make this task more difficult.

I understand that Liverpool is seriously interested in Sissoko and Toulouse are resigned to losing the player. There is also strong interest from Juventus, AC Milan, Genoa and, probably, Napoli. I think that Comolli has put Liverpool in a strong position by declaring that the club sees him as a long-term replacement for Gerrard.

M’Vila is attracting interest Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Juventus, Genoa and Arsenal. He will likely be more difficult to persuade to move to Anfield but is certainly a player Liverpool has interest in.
Sakho is a long-term target of Arsenal and we know that there is growing interest from Liverpool. Arsenal has baulked at the fee being asked for the player and Liverpool must be aware that the opportunity exists to bring the player in for what is a perfectly reasonable price. Again the attraction of Champions League football is against Liverpool as is any interest from other clubs being declared. So a decent chance, if Liverpool decide to follow up.

I think Comolli, Ayre and Dalglish are doing what they can. Many of the fans have set their heart on Sanchez and Neymar and cannot accept my view that these are simply not tartgets and are simply not going to happen. But it is certain that Liverpool has been going about addressing the areas that do need attention rather than focusing on giving the fans more “marquee” strikers.}

Hi ed , just a thought ? We need a lb and martin olsson fots the bill perfectly ! I know hes been playin lw for a while but he started off as a lb ? Hes a top class player who is pretty young and has prem exp ? Is there any interest and how much would he cost ? Cheers Dan Dawson

{Ed002's Note - You are suffering from what is known as "MOTD Fever" to which Liverpool fans are most susceptible. You will be fine, but expect it to last until someone plays well live on Sky or ESPN when you will forget all about Martin Olsson.}

The war for Sanchez has now officially started with bids from both Manchester clubs. Inter, A.C and Real Madrid are all set to rival the 26.5 million pound bids that have been accepted.
Ed would liverpool be likely to bid or can we not compete with these clubs?
Cheers
Dj {Ed001's Note - it is more the ridiculous demands Udinese are placing on things that is the problem, added to the question of whether he would be up to the physicality of our league.}

Ed is it true marvel is practically a Liverpool player and is he any good thanks {Ed001's Note - Marveaux has been practically one since before the January window, as far as I can find out all that was happening was him being given a chance to see how he recovers from his op before completing the deal.}
