HI Ed’s, random one but do we still hold any interest in James Rodeiguez? I remember a few rumours flying around about him. Looks a decent player watching tonight.

{Ed001's Note - still?}

01 May 2018 20:28:15
Oh, assuming that was just paper talk then. I must of been foolishly drawn in by the click bait.

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, he was never a Klopp target.}

01 May 2018 21:12:09

Wouldn't it be wonderful if he came on were loosing and he scores the goal to put us through.
Have to admit I don't see us winning tomorrow.

Lallana is great but I wouldn’t put a pound on him scoring in most games.

{Ed0333's Note - Lalana is great?

Hey Ed's, followed this site for years, you all do a great job! Tried the search engine but couldn't find much, would Liverpool hold any interest in Thiago Silva of PSG? Personally think he is a step up defensively from Lovren, could get him on the cheap as he hasn't got long left on his contract and could rotate between him and Gomez with van dijk as our CBs . Would love this summer for us to get Meyer also think he would be a good option in midfield and work well for Klopp. Another fullback as cover and someone to cover either wing and if say we'd be good .

{Ed001's Note - no interest.}

I worry about Buvac leaving at a critical period of the season if I'm honest. It can only be something really personal and traumatic or something has happened behind the scenes that has made the relationship untenable. I hope for the love of god it has nothing to do with Arsenal, would be just our luck. We always take a step back when we're close to something special.

You're probably right, Jigz. Those two have probably seen so much together in 17 years, that I doubt a difference of opinion would have created an immediate departure. I accept Ed001's opinion that it's because of marginalizing and a bruised ego, but I think there's more behind the scene, also. Perhaps we'll find out or maybe we'll never find out.

Buvac now being touted for the Arsenal job.

Makes sense as to why he must go on gardening leave. No bust up but rather the Arses wanted gengen pressing so much they had to go with Buvac. Can't have Buvac know all our transfer target eh.

Stranger things have happened but I’d be VERY surprised.

01 May 2018 13:45:01
Wouldn't be a huge surprise Ron. Arsenal have a lot of Ex Dortmund staff behind the scenes now, and 2 ex players on the pitch.

If you can't get Klopp, then then next best thing would be to pick his "brains".

01 May 2018 14:31:46
Buvac doesn’t say “um-a-wella” enough for an Arsena managerl. Jokes aside, I hope we keep him in some capacity. Top bloke and good luck if his career takes him elsewhere.

Agree4 Disagree0

01 May 2018 15:22:56
Very good point about the Dortmund connections at arsenal, MK. I’d still be a bit surprised as you’d imagine they would want to go with a proven manager as opposed to a number 2. Some of the very best number 2’s have struggled so it would be a gamble for them. Perhaps he would fancy a crack at being the main man though.

This rumour has far more legs because the same Serbian outfit that broke the news about Klopp and Buvac coming to us is the same outlet that has put this out there. Buvac would be an extremely sensible call for Arsenal. I thought it was always understood between Klopp and Buvac that both of them would manage if the chance and desireable options arose.

Lfc Hopeful, thing to remember is that Arsenal have a very good director of football in Michael Zorc who has yet to really put his stamp on things because Arsene Wenger is still there. Zorc has clearly been picking the transfers since his arrival though.

Buvac wouldn't be doing much in terms of management. He'd simply be a head coach.

It must be for individual movie on Severus Snape shot near Highbury.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Michael Zorc isn't director of football at Arsenal.}

02 May 2018 18:39:01
Michael Zorc should only work for owners called Orson.

“Zorc calling Orson, come in, Orson”.

Hi Ed's any update on Trent being fully fit for tomorrow?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - he only has a dead leg, there is absolutely no excuse for him to miss out, but we know how soft modern footballers are!}

01 May 2018 11:37:52
Is a dead leg literally just that bruise and the little numbness that goes away in an hour from a sharp hit? Like we used to volunteer for as school-yard punishment (was better than getting your face smashed up when you were in the wrong anyway)?

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - pretty much yes, though it is a deeper bruise and more serious, it is in essence that.}

01 May 2018 13:47:08
A dead leg is not a simple bruise and numbness. It can be but if a sports person is out with one I'd suspect it tho have been a more serious hit that the knee or punch in the leg we used to get and give.

You can be out with a dead leg, if it's bad enough your and the muscle is bruised badly you it simple won't work as it should. Won't react as quickly and can lose power.
Mind you it didn't look like Trent had anything like that. Just a knock and should be fine.

Agree4 Disagree1

01 May 2018 14:58:39
Dead leg will depend on the player. of the player doesn't feel 100% it's always better not to play them.

Any known interest in fulhams right back Ryan fredericks? Available on a free in the summer and looks to be a good fit to JKs way of playing.

Or are we still on the naughty step with Fulham?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - from us? A little but it is Spurs who are particularly keen.}

01 May 2018 11:39:23
Is there a young English player in the Championship that Spurs aren't particularly keen on?

01 May 2018 13:06:20
I have season tickets at Fulham and have watched this lad a lot (although less this year as I’ve been based in Dubai the past few months) .

I don’t think he is what we need. He is absolutely lightning fast but his delivery is just so so so poor. The number of times this season and last that he has been released down the right flank, beats his man for pace, and all his has to do is do a simple cross. but 9/ 10 he fluffs it up. It’s beyond frustrating to say the least! I would advise we look elsewhere.

Red Sandman.

01 May 2018 14:15:49
Robbo was accused of the same thing but seems to have sorted it out down the left. Haven't seen a lot of this kid but his crossing seemed ok to me.

He was ex spurs youth I think but given the conveyor belt of full backs they did have I guess he tried elsewhere. If we need a RB as some suggest on here then he looks a good option to me.
