Eds, Searched the whole search engine,

Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Looks a promising player, lethal finishing and good pace. Anything you would like to add regarding a move?

Believable6 Unbelievable10

{Ed002's Note - I would not expect to see Liverpool playing Mitrovic this coming season.}

Hi to all the EDS and fellow REDS

With Milan saying there has been no offers from Liverpool it really means that there HAS been an offer from Liverpool.
Well I rate Ballotelli but even if things don't work out, he is going to be entertaining to say the least.
Liverpool will make whoever comes into a very very good player. so all are welcome.

Believable9 Unbelievable19

{Ed002's Note - No, they are being straight forward if they say no offer. I confirmed that this morning so unless something has changed in the past few hours, that is where we are.}

The logic here is right out of Monty Python :"Only the true messiah would say he is NOT the messiah!" ;-)

I actually wouldn't be surprised though if we did make a bid over the coming days?!

If we were only talking about footballing ability, he'd be a shoe in - but he'd need more time on the couch I reckon than the guy he'd be replacing!

Agree4 Disagree0

They went on to say something like, 'however, the window doesn't shut to September 1st' which to me suggest the know one may be coming. Or are trying to get a bid

I doubt we have made an offer, as there really would be no point denying it if there was one on the table. They did, however, say that "we'll see." Maybe we can take that as "they've enquired" or something like that

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't Rodgers state recently that Mad Mario would not be coming to Anfield?

Agree2 Disagree0

It's no secret that Milan would be willing to sell, think he has unbelieveble talent, just not sure if we can afford to take a gamble on him.

Agree0 Disagree0

That was before we started getting desperate. I for one definitely don't want this person. His attitude is apauling and he could cause friction in the dressing room in my opinion.

Agree2 Disagree2

Well, of I had a choice between falcao or ballotelli, I would definitely take ballotelli.
It has nothing to do with cost or wages because I don't care about that.
Ballotelli has prem experience, still has youth on his side and has more room for improvement.
Whereas falcao is not prem proven so in that respect could be seen as more of a gamble.
Also, maybe BR could work his magic like he has done to help push on some of the talent in the team. I think I remember Mancini having quite a negative impact on the team with moral, and that could have also contributed to ballotelli attitude and performance. Although it is something that he does have in himself also.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I am sorry but that is just ridiculous. Falcao has shown he is truly world class, probably the best striker in the world before his injury. Balotelli has shown he is lazy, petulant and struggles to keep a place in any team he has played for. Not even a close comparison in any shape or form.}

Eds, is there any movement at all from Liverpool with regard to Huntelaar within the last couple of weeks?
Whilst I'm not 100% convinced he is one of Europe's best strikers, his goal record speaks for itself and he has a wealth of European experience. When first mentioned on here I was underwhelmed but probably through ignorance rather than fact.

Also, I saw in a post from Ed002 when discussing Huntelaar, that Pedro was also mentioned. I've never seen him let Barcelona down, despite being shuffled round to accommodate Messi, Neymar, Sanchez, etc. Is he still likely to move this window as I think whoever gets hold of him will have a superb player in their ranks?
Many thanks for the views and witticisms.

Believable5 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - No, I am not aware of any interest from Liverpool in recent weeks.}

20 Aug 2014 14:53:53
Ed's is there any legs to these balotelli reports that have emerged today? With Macca saying it could be an option were all going to believe it.

Believable4 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - See earlier answers please.}

20 Aug 2014 15:01:26
Big possibility of assaidi going on loan now with west brom, ac Milan and Monaco interested, Milan and Monaco is interesting as we keep getting linked to falcao and ballotelli

Believable2 Unbelievable16

20 Aug 2014 12:41:22
Any truth in the balotelli rumours eds a lot of rags reporting it this morning?

Believable13 Unbelievable15

{Ed002's Note - Macca suggested Balotelli would be an option whilst Brendan Rodgers made clear that there was absolutely no chance of Balotelli moving to Liverpool. I would believe Macca over this and it is probably just Rodgers opening his mouth to put his foot in it again.

As for an offer, my understanding is not at this time and maybe it is a little bit of the work of Mino Riola just now. But we will see. Certainly any deal will see Liverpool suffer very significant add on fees - which is why Arsenal shyed away from the discussions whilst the manager was in Brazil.}

It was a frivolous time when money was made an money was lost and that's all am prepared to say about tha.

Agree1 Disagree0

Its an interesting one thanks for the words of wisdom ed2

A LOAN with an option to buy would be the best way forward.Think Moses.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes I agree tommy a loan with an option to buy. Its too big a gamble and if it does'nt work out we'll have origi back. I'd be hoping it does work balos great when he's on form and in the right frame of mind.

any chance eds you could have a word in Macca's ear and tell him to dissuade rodgers from even trying to get him!

Ed002 - what's your beef with Rodgers?

There's an obvious dislike there. Care to explain please?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There is no dislike and I actually like the guy. Maybe he didn't stupidly put his foot in his mouth yet again - do you think he is just lying to the fans then?}

He's allowed to try and keep his business secret though isn't he?

Agree2 Disagree0

Maybe he did put his foot in his mouth, as you like to put it, but you seem to want to highlight it. The opening post was a simple question of whether there was any truth in the Balotelli rumours, yet you responding in what seems like a little dig at our manager. You could have given a standard response.

It's a similar situation to the whole did Suarez cost 75m or 63m or 12mil, whatever. In 99.9% of scenarios your response is "I don't want to talk about transfer fees", yet when it seems there's a chance to slate Liverpool a touch, you're giving a breakdown of the fee involved, i.e, it was less than what Liverpool were stating.

Maybe it's a poor observation on my part. If so, apologies.

Given the fact the Eds do this in their own time for little/no pay, I think they should be able to say what they like, giving their own opinions along the way.

Agree1 Disagree5

{Ed002's Note - He is just trolling - we get this whining about the Eds all of the time. I will make sure that I don't provide too much detail for a while and certainly, particularly given that I have let things go about money as folks have been reasonable, I will stop that immediately. I guess if Rodgers did not open his mouth and put it in and wasn't lying to the fans, perhaps he really is just a DF?}

I don't see the big deal with Rodgers saying what he did about Balotelli to be honest. All managers say these kinds of things all the time so hardly putting his foot in it.

Agree0 Disagree3

{Ed002's Note - Rodgers area of expertise is speaking when he should be listening. It does not make him disliked.}

20 Aug 2014 17:27:06
I agree, there does seem to be something there - you may 'like the guy', but you also seem to like the chance to have a bit of a dig. And for what it's worth, I should think it's more likely to be the latter - after all, he'd hardly be the first manager to 'mislead' the press. Would've thought you'd be well aware of that.

Of course, it could also be that he was telling the truth, because as we all know, the truth changes

Agree3 Disagree1

I'm lost here now.
Is the general thought that Rodgers said what he said because we are trying to put something together for ballotelli and he was making too much of a point to the press when denying it?
Also, what's the problem with what people say about BR. I'm sure if anything bad is said, he won't lose any sleep over it.

Agree2 Disagree0

Yes , I have to agree!

And them there's the he could be a flake business what's that all about Ed002

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You've seen his business cards then.}

21 Aug 2014 06:17:17
With all due respect Ed002, it was a simple observation based on your comments.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - It would be far more boring if I simply answered "Yes" or "No" to everything. Rodgers is a nice guy, although I have not seen him for a while. However it is clear that he has changed in as much he seems to be trying to up his public profile somewhat - and he is not very good at it.}

21 Aug 2014 11:45:11
Hi Ed002.

No problem - I apologise if I offended you yesterday. I, like everyone else appreciate the work you do and the information you relay to us all. The time and effort IS appreciated, thank you.

{Ed002's Note - No problem Jimmy.}

Have we ever looked at Erding as a forward option? Started season well in France and seems a natural scorer

Believable2 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - Erding has been of sustained interest to Galatasaray and Hull this summer but St Et do not wish to sell. QPR and Lille have both enquired but I am not sure if any offers were made by them.}

Thanks 002.

Could I also ask, if we were interested in Song as some reports, would the Barca transfer ban being confirmed affect his leaving and having monitored Suarez, have they seen anyone else at LFC they'd like to sign. which they can do this window.
Thanks again

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - The ban begins after this window, so Song and Neymar are both still available to Liverpool. I am not aware of Barcelona wanting to sign any other Liverpool players.}

Jordan Ibe is going to Bolton on loan

Believable75 Unbelievable17

Would suggest a new striker is on their way then.

Agree2 Disagree2

Personally I'd have liked to have seen him get a chance in the first team this season, he looked exciting in pre-season.

Konoplyanka is supposed to be coming in which is why Ibe is being allowed go on loan. He will benefit from a season as a regular starter.
