Liverpool have knocked back an enquiry from Barcelona for Daniel Agger. He will not be sold at any price. Barca looking to offload Gerard Pique and Pedro to fund deals for Agger and Bale.

Purple nurple

Now, don't get me wrong, I love Agger, but I'd be somewhat interested in an Agger for Pedro straight swap. Pedro is very good.

Y wud they want 2 sell pique and pedro. pedro is better than afellay and pique has just had a bad run of form. Doesnt mean they will be sold. Unless of course they want bale to replace pedro and could offer a player plus cash deal.

Only way there having agger is if its a straight swap pique and pedro then we will think about it lol

ACHILLES.

Straight swap then

Can pedro play in defence no, now stop talking bull

Don't blame them for enquiring, Agger's been the best centre half in the league this season.

I could believe Barca might want Agger, but there's no way they'll let Piqué go. No way.
Kieran

Swap Agger for Pique+Pedro if they want him, nothing less Agger has been fantastic this season. Pique is on his way back to Old Trafford or Chelsea though it seems

It's highly unlikely that Pique ends up ANYWHERE besides the starting lineup for Barcelona.

Ed, any chance of us gong in for Kevin-Prince Boateng in the summer as he's not happy at Milan? {Ed001's Note - doubt it.}

He's terrible!
Kp

Boateng is actually a very technically excellent player and would be a great addition to our squad.

I was under the impression that he was in fact very dedicated to Milan? He retired from international football after only 9 games because it was disrupting the specialist training regime he was under.

TSP

No his not he sick

He's ok but not as good as HE thinks he is though. His ego could be disruptive, there's a lot of players we'd be better off going for than him.

I would sign him just to see his girlfriend at Anfield

Hi Ed's, I do know a few people within the club, not major roles but nonetheless. I have asked them repeatedley to ask about Luis Suarez' future at the club. Finally I have told recently that, KD has told Luis he wants him to stay at the club and Luis wants to stay as well.

This all comes out as a result of an office meeting, after training this morning, which I am told KD, SC, LS and SG were all seen heading into the office.

Apparently so - if Luis leaves, he will be forced to leave by higher, lets say more "influentual" members of the board.

But my mates at this moment in time say, player, manager and club (being everyone) else are happy for him to stay at the club.

LFC_7

Hope so mate. The lad is a genius! We need to try keep him.

Hi all,I do believe this post.I do believe there was a meeting of some sorts.Everyone had there say,Luis is staying so please let this be the end of it...YNWA

It would be naive to sell Suarez IMO. World-class players do not grow on trees...Yes, every player is bigger than the club, but we don't have enough world-class players as it is. It would also be a huge mistake to let Johnson go, he is quality (didn't have the greatest game yesterday defensively, although he was joint top in passing stats with Adam). Read in an earlier post an issue about wages, but not sure that is the case as he has just had a contract extension. The ed's seem to have it nailed on that he will leave for some reason. I really hope that you are incorrect. If he were to leave, where would he go and why would he want to go if we get 4th (seems fairly happy to me and is England's starting RB)?

Suarez goes and LFC is dead.
We're all being xxxxed up the xxxx already by these Yonks.
Ripoff tickets, no net investment on players. Wage ceilings. Jawboning on the (no) new stadium plans. And pitiful chances of Champs Lge

I think the general consensus is that, LFC fans, the manager, the coaching staff all want him to stay. We all know what he brings to the team!

He has made some mistakes but everyone of us has done.

I think if the owners or board members undermine the fans, manager etc. that would be a complete travesty and would never be justified in my opinion.

Yes, football is a business and recent events surrounding the said player are not what is expected from the club, but he apologised. HOWEVER, in this business, to be deemed successful, you need to win football matches and with Luis Suarez in our team, we have a player who can solely do that on his own.

An office meeting eh? Very impressive, you clearly know your stuff.

No net spend? Are you SERIOUS!?

http://forums.liverpoolfc.tv/threads/290204-Transfers-amp-Net-Spend-Under-FSG

That's over 30 million on transfer fees ALONE. They've also restructured the wages at the club to make them more sustainable, and are actually paying at odds for players instead of way over the odds (wage-wise). We have a very young, talented team coming through, are in a cup final this Sunday, and in with a shout of another, not to mention an easily plausible assault on the Champions League places.

Haters gonna hate.

Hi Eds/Macca

There has been a lot of speculation flying around about Suarez leaving in the summer. What, in your opinion are the chances of him leaving.

Also, would he leave because we want him to or are we only going to let him go if a substantial offer comes in? I say this because if we want to sell him then he would be listed.

Thoughts?

Jay {Ed002's Note - Listed? My views on this are well documented already.}

Thats why I am asking your opinion. I know you have views on this already but I cant find them as they expire after a few days so there is no actual reference to it.

What are your views?

Thanks in advance

Jay {Ed019's Note - My view is that (i really hope) he will stay. Ed002's views can be found by using the search function on the top right of the page.}

This is from a very reliable source we will be seeing a familiar face at anfield next season as xabi alonso will return u heard i here first

He's at Anfield every season. He still has friends there.
DM

I'm sure you're right! As a former player and close friend of Pepe, he will no doubt get invites to our games, plus he loves our club and city too!

SingRed

I think every liverpool fan would love to see alonso back but i cant see it coming true. dont waste your time dreaming about it!

Would be great if he did but i dont see it happening,

we would also need other places in the team sorted out 1st before defencive midfield tbh

Future lfc manager perhaps??

I would like to say 'I heard it here first' but unfortunately you left no name... so I'll just refer to you as 'plonker'.

dd

"Here first."

Great player but is the wrong side of 30. Time to move on I think lads.
Realistic Reds

Are you the same ' heard it here first' that spouted the last 4 million bs**t posts. If so get a life. Needless to say I'm sure it's not the FIRST time you've heard that.

Rob s

Does anyone remember the episode of Fr Ted were Ted tries to show Dougal the difference of Reality and Dreams? Well this clown is Dougal. Alonso will cost to much, is too old and we already have a s**t load of centre mid-fielders!

Barcelona have enquired into the availability of Daniel Agger. Dont know where we stand on this but I for one hope we can keep him for at least another season until Coates is ready to be a first team regular.

Go away barca (assuming its true)

kaizer

I hope he ends his career at liverpool. such a quality player .
NZL_red

Take him please barca.

Agger is as bad a Fabio for haunting the treatmnet table, we could sell or trade agger.

In the summer we could hopefully get chris Samba for a reasonable fee.

I totally agree with you NZL. Agger is, when fit, one of the best leftfootet CB's in the world. He is world class IMO. The whole team plays better when he is on the pitch

Agger's fitness has much improved this season since the new medical team got their hands on him!

dmedly

Agger is top notch. One of the best centrebacks in world football. I can't see us letting him go anywhere, especially as he loves LFC as well.

Love him to bits. Hope he is with us for a long time to come. Also he is a great role model. Works very hard, is hard on himself and always trying to improve (so i've heard anyway).

Chris Samba? Dont make me laugh!.....too late HA

PDUK

Lmao, forget that, lets bid for Pique and play an all out attacking formation of 3-5-2 with Pique, Agger and Skrtel as our CB pairing hehe. Jokes aside, sorry Barca but Agger is not for sale as he will end his career here nd take up the defence coach job...;-)

Don't know if it's true or not, or where I read it, but read something about Pique being out of favour or in bother with the management at Barcelona? And with Puyol getting on I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Barca's transfer dealings are very much defence-focused in the summer. Still, wouldn't sell Dagger unless it was an obscene offer, or got Pique in return.

Rugby Parker

Only if barca pay £40m for him. Jokes aside Agger is the best CB in the world!!

Doubt it, they were interested in 09. Would have got him then - he's a Barca fan too aint he?

He is too good to sell, especially since having a good injury free spell. If he continues like this he should be a regular part of our back four for some years to come.

Danny agger is our best defender by a mile n anyone thinking a swap for samba is a good idea god help us ..its like swapping Alan Hansen for Steve Bruce !

You sound like we are a feeder club. I hope he retires with Liverpool.

Agger is with Liverpool 6 years now and has played 100 Games - sayz it all Really

How many games would a player who supposed to be the best CB expect to play in 6 years?

A lot more than 100 Games, Agger is Mr. Sicknote!

I hope to god this is fab, to dismantle a solid back four would be nonsensical. agger to be the next lfc captain.

hi eds

heard a funny rumour u know Liverpool have to play Everton in the league at anfield looks like it will be played in June as it is the only time to fit it in with the way the games have gone this season

I think a little something called the Euros might get in the way of that...

DP

It will get played midweek. And it isn't a funny rumour. Just stupid.

Plenty of midweek dates available for make-ups against Everton, QPR, Fulham (cup-semi finals).
Chelsea (cup-final day) will be harder if they are still in the CL.
