any substance in the laudrup interest as next manager. if he plays his teams like he played himself would be greast choice and be type of manager who would player people like sterling?

Aggerdo

I really hope there is substance to them, I think he would be a great appointment. He is my favourite all time player too.

Bilbao Baggins

Ditto on Laudrup. Best choice for me too, shirt of getting Mourinho.

Why sell Suarez.
He is 1 of the best players in the world makes something out of nothing. If we wer in a position a few years ago okay we sell him and can get a replacement BUT this current state will be impossible getin some1 half as good as him.
We need to build the team around him. Our Spine is very strong.
Reina, Skrtel, Agger, Lucas, Gerrard, Suarez, Carroll. That is actually a top quality spine of a team. Need a couple of wingers and forwards and were half way ther back to the top

F5

Ha lol.

Well said that man

Why is it AVB? To me and thousands of others he is a risky move at this moment in time. If we get it wrong it could take years just to get back to were we are at present. Rafa is a more sure bet and has already grasped the moneyball side of things.

But iy isn't a risk, top end manager who was not given anywhere near long enough by chelsea, he laid the foundations and look what they won, top young manager

So we already have 7 players as our spine. With the addition of a couple of wingers and strikers we will only be half way there?

i really dont care if suarez goes most of you would admit that if he was playing for somebody else he would be one of them players you hate.I believe he will be here next season but after that who knows i think the owners want him out anyway.
JJ blackpool

If your gonna hate him, atleast say why you think so, if your arguement is the whole racist issue, then i defenetly do not agree, evra totaly exploided the situation, and alex ferguson showed exsactly why i hate him,the second he saw a chance to bash liverpool, who was at the time a rivalfor the title, this whole scenario tells me suarez couldnt be more liverpool man, he remained calm the whole time, if evra as suarez said, verbaly bashed him all trew out the game, i dont find wrong of him to use sarcasm to return the favor.

He would be a player we hate for another team because he is that good u mean and we would be jealous!

AVB will be announced next week [Monday-Friday] is what I am being told... not the best source but dishing out info...

BthekingB

I hope you are right are club is laughing stock,but we need a big name manager to bring the top players

Wats that the news paper?

Holloway will be appoinedwithin next week

No this wasn't news paper. This was from a Portuguese friend I knew that used to stop at my house every year. He supports Porto and is a huge football fan. I don't know how truthful he is but he told me about the Falcao to A.Madrid saga.

Suarez leaving I think was decided months ago. It has do with Evra incident. It has nothing to do with not having a manager

If Juve offer 30 million - I would bite their hand off. Great player, but too much trouble.

Just speculation it just a rumour not even true

Thanks for that insightful comment, Mr Manc-fan.

If he wants to go let him go no player bigger than the club

If they offered me £30m - I'd laugh in their face.

£60-80m and I'd think about it. So long as the money could be spent on new players.

BJH YNWA

How can suarez be trouble that evra is a loser suarez was standing up for him self that is all sick of people bagging suarez get a life

Why would the club sell someone for just £7m more than they bought him for 18 months ago?

Half u guys are so silly,some want rafa back others torres, and some like u guys wanna sell suarez, all i can say is rofl, Rafa is the reason we are where we are, he bought a ton of wrong players,or wasnt able to make them achive there potiential, Torres left us ffs,he decided we where not for him, and people want him back, i love torres dont get me wrong, but liverpool is no playground, we dont give hand outs, its not a charity, and btw it tookrafa how long to ruin inter?

"If they offered me £30m - I'd laugh in their face.

£60-80m and I'd think about it. So long as the money could be spent on new players.

BJH YNWA"

Best post ever. What team with 60-80 million would pay that much for a player than gets banned for 1/4th of a season and has a huge negative PR. Remember Becks impact on signing for Real Madrid, his shirt sales boost paid for his transfer fee within the first season, well Suarez would have the opposite financial effect with deterring sponsors and club associates.

Money made from Becks shirt sales would not have gone to real Madrid so there for would not have paid his transfer fees off. So who ever buys Suarez if he decides to go, shirt sales would not come into it.

WB {Ed002's Note - Real MAdrid is not a good example. However: The money from shirt sales goes to the manufacturer, the distributor and the retailer, who can make extra adding numbers and names to the shirts. If the club are the retailer (club shop, club website etc.) then they get the retailers cut. The manufacturer (Adidas, Warrior, Nike etc.) pay the club an amount each year which allows them to manufacture and sell the shirts using the correct logos etc.. That is how they justify the money given to the club. So if you walk in to a high street store and buy a Liverpool or Arsenal shirt - nothing goes to the club. There are a few clubs that have negotiated different deals with manufacturers (Real Madrid with Adidas and Barcelona with Nike are the two obvious examples) based upon joint reselling ventures. So the income from shirts is fixed to the £xM or whatever Adidas, Nike etc. pay the club plus a small amount for reselling through the club retail outlets (shop, web).}

I've just had confirmation from my favourite source that AVB will be announced as the new Liverpool manager tomorrow morning.

Also LFC scouts are at the Juventus game watching Cavani.

Many Regards,

Daniel Hanwell

Wonder if they'll say hi to Suarez while he's there?

How reliable is this source ?

There is at least another week of interviews , but it seems/sounds that AVB have become the most likely instead of Martinez who I think will move to Villa .. I think the fans and the internet have something to do with Martinez choice.
Roy

Let's hope this source is reliable then!

I hope your right my friend on both counts but I don't believe the that canvani is being watched I shall remember you name

Would have been okay and plausible without the 'tomorrow morning' bull.

'She' was the same source that informed me about Dalglish getting the sack.

She's told me that he will be appointed manager this week.

Regards,
Daniel Hanwell

Watching Cavani? Why? He is one of the best strikers in the world. What do they need to watch him for? To be certain he is as good as they heard? Come on, man!

Really hope your right mate, we need a manager NOW!

If i was a scout id be watching cavani anyways because he is brilliant. same reason why id watch messi neymar.... hell even klose

What would they be watching him for everyone in the world already knows he's top class ..

Daniel hanwell aren't you the same guy who last summer assured us that aguero had chosen us over city and you would never post on this site again if aguero didn't sign??

Yes that is me, what's your point? It's now 2012,unfortunately I cannot predict what type of wages a player like Aguero wants and IMO he was well advised to go to City. I can only post rumours on this site based on what my sources tell me, of course there's always a chwnce of the rumour not being correct. I've made sure I got the Kenny rumour correct this year and I've changed my priorities in terms of which sources can be the most reliable.

Regards,
Daniel Hanwell

My cat could of predicted Kenny leaving

New developments on the managerial position will be announced tomorrow. Not sure What details will be released but us fans will finally learn something more than the Martinez talks.

20 May 2012 22:18:29
Lets not forget that Suarez has friends playing in the Italian Cup Final (Cavani).

He is there to support cavani and bring him to lfc

I would be devastated if Suarez left he is are best Player by a country mile but if he was to leave then avb could use the 35-40m from suarez sale plus some investment from fsg have around 50m on player investment although it would be a huge loss if Suarez left signing 3 15m signings with the money would hopefully improve the squad drastically possibly de Jong/Ramirez/dembele these 3 for Suarez would seem good business so there could be some good to come of transfer. Kevo

Exactly just because he went to watch man utd v ajax doesn't mean he's joining one of them does it!

20 May 2012 22:04:28
just been told in the last hour that the club will be sending pep segura and frank McParland to crewe to discuss a possible transfer with a highly rated youngster, i wasnt given a name but was told that it would be silly money for a kid.

LFC-IRE {Ed001's Note - it could only be Nick Powell or Max Clayton.}

Nick Powell's already gone to United, so it's probably Max Clayton

I'm not too sure mate, i dont know either player, all i know is that the potential deal will cost liverpool a substantial fee for a youth player and we have a lot of competition for his services.

LFC-IRE

Nick Powell has already been bought by United guys.

So annoyed if Powell has gone united he's my favourite youngster outside of our reserves max Clayton is also very very good.

Square tomato

I was with Nicks brother last night in the pub as well as talking on Twitter this morning and Nick definitely has not signed for United, Fergie was at a game a few weeks back to watch him in person but he definitely hasn't signed yet {Ed001's Note - what kind of idiot believes what the Fail said about Powell signing for United a couple of days before their biggest game in years? No deal has been done, no deal for any of their players is being considered until after the play off final, end of.}

And who at the club has sanctioned this move?? with no DOF or MANAGER in place i cant see silly money being spent on anyone, not whilst the club is in this situation..

RED4lifeNOTjust4XMAS

I could'nt tell you mate, o was just told what i posted above. But the woman who told me is usually spot on.

LFC-IRE

Guessing academy directors might still have their own budgets and targets to work towards though.....and with the ideas that pep/rodolfo are set for more senior positions in coming years I don't think its ridiculous to believe that they are able to follow through on their targets without new DoF etc. (especially when pep is rumoured to be a chance for that role)

20 May 2012 21:57:14
Suarez to Juventus £20 million + Elia, will hear bout negotiations tomorrow

Hope you are deadly wrong! Is he eds? {Ed022's Note - Yes for the end of the post, a possibility for the beginning of it.}

What a load of rubbish suarez will honour his liverpool contract n fire us to the premier league title nxt year suarez carroll n falcao togeva will fire liverpool to success

ELia has played 4 times from the bench this season, he's been woeful at every club he's played for and is no longer part of the national team set up, Kuyt is and he's been woeful this season and has struggled for first team football.

Elia is not worth £10 million, he's not worth £5 million. Juventus don't get rid of good players, they get rid of declining players.

Poulsen anybody!?

So Juve don't get rid of good players, correct me if I'm wrong but they got rid of Thierry Henry

I'd say £23m plus Elia

Elia is only worth £7m and Suarez is around £30m the 23m we got him for was a peanuts.

And with the £23m put an extra £3m on there and get Falcao for £26m

Not that I want Suarez to go neither will i be happy with Suarez leaving because that would really mean we are taking steps back. you don't improve by selling your best players it makes you a selling club.

20 May 2012 21:51:16
Villa boas to be named Liverpool new manager this week. Suarez is going to sign for juventus. Skirtle is going to sign for arsenal. With the money they get from them to avb will make his stamp on the squad. Also gerrard and carr are trying to get the owners to sign Michael Owen. You heard it here first.

Skertl to Arsenal is a rumour started on Caught 0ff$h1t3

The Italian spots media have already been put straight by a chief Liverpool scout. Suarez is not for sale.

Any manager looking at taking the Liverpool job will not need to be dealt the blow of losing possibly the best player in the team.

Bearing in mind.
Bentiez handled it when Owen forced an exit as soon as Benitez arrived, then soon after we got Torres. Kenny handled it when Torres left soon after Kenny arrived, then he went and got Suarez.

This doesn't mean AVB is going to go and get Hulk or Falcao, with Suarez departing for cash stricken Italian football.

"You heard it here first."

...no we didn't

I hope not!! Rafa is the safe bet for FSG and when things dont work for AVB will Rafa still be there or will FSG relise what a total muck up they have made. Then we will have NO choice but Martinez

Who is your source? Really do seem in the know. I'm very impressed by the amount of info they have acquired. I wish Had such insight to what's going on.
Stevie G.

Sounds so true, I swear I just saw a big pink elephant just flying past my window.
Suarez maybe, the rest is your mind running away with itself!

Selling suarez is one thing, but selling to a rival is another, if he wants to go then it has to be to another league imo or a lesser team in EPL

Skretel has only had 1 good season, the rest have been mediocre, and he has been a liability when played (in the past)

Cobblers, every word.

You have to check your mental age for making up such moronic stories. This is not a cheap criticism, rather a genuin concern.

Carra n Gerrard have too much influence at the club as it is....they are players, bringing in Michael Owen will only bring more problems......the cliques at the club have to be removed (not the players) just the notion that they can influence the manager....Rgds Limerick Red

You would think fans would be able to spell the name of first team players...

Tippers

Almost had me goin till i saw u mentioned that rat owens name so just pure B.S

Just cant work out who is putting out all this crap, everton fans or manu fans?

This must be a Chelsea fan thinking that our players can influence our new signings . Dont you think that Gerrard and Carragher would have used their influence to keep Kenny .

Hey mate you wouldn't believe the hold they have on the club, Carragher's like poison f*ckin ivy

20 May 2012 21:19:19
Is Luis Suarez really at the juventus game?

Heard on lfctv channel a couple of weeks ago that Uruguay have a friendly aorund about this time i think, might be against italy or might be played in italy but not sure

Hes watchin his mate cavanni

Thanks, I hope we don't sell him but it's looking likely

20 May 2012 20:54:18
Ed with Luis at the Juventus game tonight have they been tapping him up ? Please answer. {Ed002's Note - I have explained that there is interest from Juventus and other clubs and we know what has happened over the past few days. However, a club may not discuss a transfer directly with Suarez without teh permission of Liverpool who he is contracted to. If they have, then that is indeed "tapping up".}

Maybe he's just meeting up with fellow countymen who play for Napoli & Juventus

How do you know Suarez isn't there tapping up for us?

What do you mean "happened over the past few days" Ed002? Is that simply Kenny leaving or has something else happened that could see Suarez leave? Thanks and congrats to you as a Chelsea fan! {Ed002's Note - There has been an approach made by Juventus, Suarez's Italian representative and Nedved to his agents.}

Likely there for Cavani too..

Is it so sinister? Adam & Shelvey were at Wembley on Saturday!

20 May 2012 20:50:27
i have a feeling that hazard will sign for us. from all club in the world, joe cole had to go to lille only. it seems fishy. just a feeling and hope it comes true. budashow

He has the choice of the top clubs in Europe and you think he will play for a team that finished 8th. Laughable.

Wake up and have your cornflakes pal! Blatantly going to city, said it himself pretty much by stating he's going to be playing next season in Manchester

What weired planet are you from?

MR EM

He's already said he's playing in manchester next season.

I have a feeling you are an idiot!

Do us all a favour...next time you have a feeling, keep it to yourself.

Wishful thinking mate

Pigs will fly.

Reports coming out of France tonight saying that Hazard has chosen to move to Manchester united
The word {Ed022's Note - Eden Hazard has changed his mind thousands of time. All I'll say is in my opinion it'll either be Utd, City or Chelsea - unless Madrid come in for him. End of thread.}

It is strange that he went to Lille because apparently Aston villa had also made an earlier loan offer

"joe cole had to go to lille only"

Were you expecting him to go to two clubs?
Maybe three? I must admit, it would be hard to play for numerous club at once...

Red Head

So if he had gone to villa it would have meant we would definitely be signing bent? Just because a player plays for the club Cole went to it does not mean we are signing him

Love the 8 believables on this too. and i don't think Joe Cole would have had anything nice to say to him about Liverpool!

It seems the poster hasn't read any football news for the past few months...

I heard Messi and Ronaldo are coming as well. Wake up,mate. The owners are nowhere near even with Spurs. We can never compete with MU, MC orChelsea. Which is why I am amazed with how things are run at Arsenal.

Sounds like someone's away with the fairies¦.. Wake up mate, why would he join a mid table side when the top teams are sniffing round?

20 May 2012 20:47:17
Suarez in the crowd at the Juve/Napoli game.... dam it!

Isnt he big mates with the napoli forward?

Really eds can you confirm this

Scouse Ben

I very much doubt he is leaving. He
Has already said. He is. Staying
He might just b . Meting. His. Mates. Cavani
You never
Know

How do you know he isn't trying to persuade players to join him at liverpool

Our lads went out to watch el Classico are they joining them, he is just watching football

Hopefully he is just going to watch his friend cavani

Edinson Cavani = Uruguayan .. perhaps hes there to suppor hes friend? {Ed002's Note - Like Rooney coming along to support Downing when he has the time.}

Yh thats because he friends with some napoli players as they have a few uruguans playing for them e.g cavani,gargano etc

Let's not kid ourselves fellas, he will be on that plane out of Liverpool as soon as FSG receive an acceptable offer. Juventus, Palermo or P.S.G are his most likely destinations.

His mates from Uruguay all play for Napoli...

Well if rooney was to play in lets say south america and there was also some of his fellow country men there also. Why wouldnt they show there support from time to time to each other.

gee man

I think it was decided months ago that he would be leaving.

Brilliant, so thats one out. Looks like we wont be chalenging for jack next season either since well have to replace half of the team. Just sell our best players and try replaceing them with same quality new ones with no chamions league? Good luck, another mid table season imo

Why is everyone freaking out ian ayre said he was going nowhere no more than 5 weeks ago calm down people.

gee man

Suarez is not going anywhere he is happy at liverpool he will see out his contract then he will leave end of story

Are you upset that he likes to watch football ?

LLCOOLJM

20 May 2012 20:40:40
Eds any chance of signing beckham once we have appointed a manager?

RED18

Who in their right mind would want Beckham?

Chris in Tamworth

Hasn't he said last year about Everton that they were a bit too close to Manchester Utd, so, he can't join them. There is no chance, he'd come to Liverpool and isn't the one, we'd be looking for, for sure.

With FSG's vision of signing up young players with potential maybe you're thinking of Brooklyn.

20 May 2012 20:28:42
Torres is definitely considering quiting chelsea because of a lack of game play, eg FA cup final, champo leauge final...

Just let it go for gods sake

Who gives a s**t about Torres! Hes a Chelsea player so put that s**t on the chelsea rumours page u bell! Clarkchenko7

What is your point ?

I agree with the 2 comments, can we stop caring about a player that clearly doesnt care about us!

20 May 2012 20:18:07
Miroslav Klose said he loves Liverpool are there any chances of him coming to Liverpool {Ed002's Note - What is he, 34, 35?}

But he can still put the ball in the net Ed

20 May 2012 20:27:23
im hearing rumours of agger to barcelona. would we sell one of our best defenders?

Well we sold our best midfielders nd a striker

Didn't think we'd sell our 2 best midfielders until Madrid and Barca came in for them... if only we still had Masch and Alonso!

20 May 2012 20:15:50
Ed I have a few points to make regarding Liverpool fc.

After watching the champions league final last night I had goose bumps and remembering the good old days where Liverpool where a power house in the EPL and Champions league and our name was always up there with the massive clubs.
We where able to have our fair pick of players throughout the world and we could hold onto our starts. And now the news that the board are cost cutting I am more worried than ever as it seems our better players may be pushed out the door for financial reasons. And we are falling lower and lower in the epl.

I really don't see us being in the champions league for a number of years 6 to 7. Unless we get a major cash injection and we can go out and buy real quality players who will play at the top level.

Tray Rafa Benitez mate, he won it with half a team full of s***

20 May 2012 19:52:58
Villas boas' odds have gone as short as 6/4 in the last 2 hours with Martinez down to 3/1, I can see an announcement coming quite soon

I hope so ngl I just want answers asap! {Ed002's Note - I would have thought you should want the right answer and the right manager even if it took a few days longer. But as you sau, you "want answers asap" - let's hope it works out for you.

Now 4/5 with Sky Bet

Yeah I'd just love a manager representing Liverpool Football Club who spends half the game squatting down on the touchline looking like he's taking a dump. Not to mention his ability to fall out with every journo in England in the space of a few short months. Spot on mate, just what LFC need right now.

AVB is evens now, probably based on all the speculation and reports linking him to the club, I believe all this talk of lists and every manager and their uncles getting interviews is to throw the media off so nobody really knows who is talking to who.

He has been that for most of the day. Benitez had his odds go from 10/1 to 4/1 at stan james.

My horse was favourite for the national with every bookie around,.............it never won

20 May 2012 18:56:54
If what I believe to be true is right then we may have a new number 10. From the cryptic message I received, I have inferred that it could be Mesut Ozil.

Don't tell me how ridiculous this is, I am fully aware.

Is this because of his tweet? Which may or may not be him?

What was the message?

Haha what cryptic message have you recieved? {Ed022's Note - 1h4v3n0l1f3?}

Best post in ages

Yeah the new manager is really keen on him

No chance,he is happy at real

Would the club sign someone without a manager in place?

He would be a good signing if true!

Gaz1975.

He said on twitter he likes us he doesnt want to join us tho

These are the rumours we need cryptic message brilliant! Andy irl

Pretty sure @Mesut0ezil is a fake account. Ergo: he's not coming.

If what I believe is to be true then we have a new level of mendacity. From this cryptic post, I have inferred that it is bs.

Don't tell me how right I am, I am fully aware.

No i dont think you do realise how ridiculous this is mate. what is this anyway the fu**ing 39 steps!

I love posts like these, always good for a laugh even better is the bitter comments posted from people who think the guy is telling the truth. Keep them coming eds. Us Liverpool fans need something to laugh about after last season.

As a non Liverpool fan i find this absolute hilarious.

I got the same message said messi, ronaldo & of course neymar to sign for Liverpool

It wasnt a cryptic message sent to you from beyond the grave was it mate?........"I see Red people" ;)

20 May 2012 18:47:31
im told liverpool hold a strong interest in belhanda, diame, mulumbu and soldado.

jay b

Belhanda and Soldado, you must be dreaming.

These idiots need to stop coming up with random lists of names for transfer targets. The is no DoF and no manager so why would any transfer targets be drawn up!!

Okay now if you said before the press did then i'd listen to you

Im just putting up what i have been told, like i do everytime i post. FSG have been advised to chase the 4 players mentioned.

jay b

20 May 2012 18:43:07
It is all over the papers that we are cost cutters and we risk losing our stars like suarez and skrtel, I know papers overwork things to sell their paper, but if the owners make us lose our players because they want to simply cut down the spending well, they are definitely in the wrong sport.
I am not saying we should have players earning over the odds, but let's not lose what we have and realise this a money hungry game. Eds what is your take on this?
hibsylfc {Ed002's Note - My "take" on it is unchanged.}

Maybe we are cutting costs by getting rid of deadwood on very high wages so we can bring in better players.

Since Kenny left it has been open season for the press. Once we get a new manager it will all go quiet.

The papers are printing all sorts at the moment because A. There is no news and B. Until LFC make a decision there is no news. If players go it will be part of the `new managers` negotiations , and until a new manager is chosen there is not much chance of signings....no inside story, just common sense.Pinhead.

The British press in general is trash.Just a lot of guessers and liars. WUM's the lot of them.

Maybe, stop reading the Mirror

If they sell cole,maxi, kuyt,adam and aqulani they will cut alot in wages and take carra out of the squad and give him a coach role or something in the club

Times are bad at liverpool when skrtel is one of are biggest stars {Ed022's Note - Our*}

We have tried to cut costs for some time by getting rid of players that dosn't play. We still have a few...

They will be cost cutting off the field the business side not the playing side of it so relax

20 May 2012 18:16:25
Torres has submitted a transfer request...shame really he could have been a legend

Bet he regreats leaving us now haha

No he hasn't. He wants to talk to abramovich about his future {Ed002's Note - He will have a long wait then.}

Now perhaps he will realise that he shouldn't have left in the first place to an uncaring club like Chelsea. Come home Fernando and form a brilliant partnership with Luis, managed by Rafa. Was what it should have been anyway !

Where? Or are you a archetype idiot? The latter I thought so.

Why so ed? {Ed002's Note - Do you think the owners of football clubs deal with transfers?}

Did the same to us and wanted assurances about transfers etc.

Haha yeh he probz does n he can come back him n suarez deadly

Wat a load of rubbish. he left liverpool to win trophys.....and has. get in the real world. torres fills in full time when drogba goes. suarez we need to keep and carroll can only get better

"'do you think the owners of football clubs deal with transfers?" er they do at Chelsea! {Ed002's Note - No.}

If AVB becomes the new manager I can't see Torres coming back

For £50 million you'd have thought so

Erm......Shevchenko??, and Torres?? 80million quids worth and how many goals between them!!!Wanted and bought by Roman......neither Jose nor Carlo wanted them......and he doesn't interfere with transfers......please!!! {Ed002's Note - Two players (and there is a third) in nine years of ownership and you cannot see things objectively. I cannot believe you are not feeling embarrassed typing this rubbish.}

Still £80million spent on two under performing players. Regardless of the fact it's jut two players in 9 years, he also questions managers tactics when things are going well.

My Goodness ED 02, u support Chelsea FC yet you deny something which has been confirmed publicly by current coach Roberto Di Matteo. He said that he had no idea about the Marko Marin transfer, AVB said that he had no answer in the transfer of Lukaku(though we knew he was bound to come to the team anyways aka Drogba wanna be) and Mata. Its pretty obvious the owner wanted to flex his financial muscle hence asked the chiefs higher up the hierachy to send in scouts by his order to check those players out and move fast to make the transfers happen if the scouts are impressed. I agree that Roman does turn a blind eye on transfer requests out of his club. In this case, you could argue as to why he even unsettled Torres into making him turn heads to his club. Fair Enough Torres was unhappy at our club due to little star players around him etc etc, but surely had Chelsea and Abramovich not started flashing their dimes, and had Torres just had a word with the then new owners NESV/FSG, he would have been delighted that a certain Mr.Luis Suarez was being signed up to partner him, btw, logically we would have also gone in for Carroll in a more relaxed way i.e. asked Newcastle for him and give them not more than 15M tops for him as he could provide competition for Torres and Suarez. That was what the owners planned(minus the carroll thing i mentioned), but i guess as the saying goes, "its hard to find a good guy" hence its hard to find a player whose sole interest is winning things at the club he is and nothing more like in the old days when it was a system called pay as you play where the better you play during the season, you are guaranteed to have a salary increase big or small none the less. This century, even kids like Alex Oxlade Chamberlain get so much so fast(promising but needs to put in a special season or two to get the money he gets)....Just my views...

{Ed002's Note - What have I denied? You seem to have some twisted view about how the transfer process works. Mr Abramovich did not have any direct involvement in the purchase of Marin and Lukaku. Certainly in nine years there have been three transfers he was the instigator of. You seem to forget that Chelsea have a Director of Football and advisors who primarily deal with such matters with coaches and managers being involved to a lesser or greater extent on a case-by-case basis.}

Ed002 do you know who Abramovich wants to add to his toy soldiers next?

Lets not forget torres has a fa cup and ch league medal to his name now, and oh yeah he's f**king loaded cannot see him being too regretful.

Crespo the third?

dmedly

Ed002 Mr. Abramovich has quite a say in transfers no matter what you say, but why we talking about Chelsea anyway, they've over achieved big time this season, lucky isn't even the word.

Gibzkit. {Ed001's Note - why are you talking about something you clearly have no idea about would be a better question. Stop believing the papers, you are quite simply wrong.}

I can't believe some of you so called fans giving the eds a hard time after all the time and effort that they put into this site quite often answering stupid questions over and over again from kids who get all their football knowledge from Fifa12.
Why don't you go back to your games and koptalk and let everyone else who is intersted in actual football rumours and the vast knowledge of the Eds in peace.
Rant over

ed if suarez was to leave would you think falcao would be a possible replacement {Ed002's Note - No.}

Yeah sure why not we will buy falcao and cavani and hazard.. ah sure throw hulk in there for the crack too only cost us about half a billion altogether

Ed 002,

when initially Franco Baldini (Capello's right hand man in the England team, now General Manager at Roma) met AVB for the Roma job early in March, Villas-Boas required of him, were he to take the job he wanted with him two former players: Radamel Falcao and Fernando Reges (of Porto). With the later we were heavily linked in December, after Lucas injury. Were AVB to take Kenny's place (now that Roma job is gone to V. Montella) I think he would strongly push for the two, as not only he knows from them from his time with Porto, but because they are desperately needed for Liverpool at present. It might not happen, especially with Falcao, but I can see him making a strong case for them with FSG.

GALF {Ed002's Note - Falcao and Fernando were never going to move to Roma and the links Liverpool had to Fernando were tenuous with no confirmed interest. I would imagine that any interview would be very short if that were the case because I cannot see that Liverpool have £75M to spend on these two players - and I would suggest that Liverpool would likely be clutching at straws if they think they could persuade them to move.}

He's a great player and has Europa League experience but I can't see him coming

Ed 002 - I hate how you think you can brush possible targets such as Falcao away from is just because their world class. Nobody knows whats going on behid the seens so you can't say we cant afford him etc. Athletico will more than likely be happy to sell if the right offer comes in and im sure the owners and new manager will want a world class striker that scores goals so why not

Musty from Birmingham {Ed002's Note - Whatever you want. No problem.}

Torres will be cheap i guess

Falcao is too good for us and he woukd cost more than what we get for suarez, same problems going to happen if we sell suarez for big money other prices will inflate. Any good player we get we dont get long every owner wants to sell them.

Musty hes a chelsea fan .. what do you expect? {Ed002's Note - You would expect me to give an honest opinion. It is a pity that somehow you see it as tainted.

20 May 2012 17:12:44
Alexander Pato is constantly linked with moves away from AC Milan who obviously aren't desperate for him to stay, so why have we not tried to get him. He would only cost about £25 million maximum and has a pretty sound goals per game ratio. Any thoughts eds? {Ed002's Note - £25M is a great deal of money and Pato has had injury and performance problems.}

Only 25 million lol what are you some billionaire?

Lol at "performance problems".

Pato: Potent Striker, Impotent Lover...

Wrong post code m8. As nice as Liverpool is, Milan for Liverpool? Not a chance.

20 May 2012 16:46:02
Balague has tweeted quotes from his interview with Torres. Torres has said he's not happy at Chelsea and will consider his future in the summer. Any idea where he could be off to if he leaves Chelsea eds? {Ed002's Note - Italy or Spain seems most likely destinations.}

Would anyone here want him back at anfield?

Malaga {Ed002's Note - Perhaps.}

Ano people say it would just be goin backwards but I'd love rafa alonso an Torres back never happen but can only dream doubt any fans agree with me but who have we bought beta than they was for us in last ten years

Not ITK but i can see him going back to Athletico Madrid as part of a deal for Falcao to Chelsea

Malaga sounds likely considering he'd love the money and they've just lost RVN

The thought of returning to us will definetly cross Torres mind but i dont know if the new manaver will want him or if he will even want to come

Juve?
AnfieldUSA {Ed002's Note - Perhaps.}

If we end up with AVB as manager there is no way Torres would come back.

Not that I would have him back personally.

Look to the present not to the past. Yes he was a great player at LFC but times have changed. For LFC and for him.

Gaz1975.

There he goes again crying, just remember it's your own FAULT

Man utd or city. why not? dont gloat to much he wants to leave them eh

He's finished in English football. Only Man City could afford his wages and there's no way they'd take him. Adios signor

Torres swap for falcao?

20 May 2012 16:32:32

Is there any chance that Hazzard will say he is moving to us when he announces where he is going tonight? {Ed002's Note - It is exactly the same chance as last summer.}

No DoF. No manager. No champions league football, which is what Hazzard wants.

How many times does this need to be said?

I was told he signed for us last summer {Ed002's Note - Part of the Joe Cole deal? That'll be it then.}

Already said he will playing in blue next season... And has since also said he will play in Manchester.

So thats that.

Yeah ther is 2 chances , fat chance and no chance

Didn't he give an interview fairly recently saying that he's heading to Manchester, but refsed to say which club? ESPN is the source I think.

Probably man city mate don't get your hopes up! If eden signs for them could mean Adams wants out which then would be our chance to swoop for him!

Not a chance he'll come to us. He doesn't know who the manager is going to be.

Most idiotic post EVER!!

He's got serious interest from the best teams in the world...and you're suggesting he's going to give all of that up to come play for us??...an 8th place team that is going to be hard-pressed to stay in the top half of the table unless serious improvements are made.

Would YOU play for us (in our current state) if you were one of the most sought after players (whether he SHOULD be so sought after is a different matter)?

With your brains, you belong on the Chelski site mate.

Off course he should be sought after! Thats a stupid think to even think, let alone say. Anyway, Why compare people making inquisitive comments with chelsea fans. You Kopites are all the same, stupid!
Bobcat

No need for the critisism lads. Any one could sign for us whether they are world class or not. We were in a similar position last summer and still managed to sign suarez......is he not a world class player?
Wait and see!!

He is going to Chelsea

He's changed his mind a million and one times and I wouldn't be surprised if he goes somewhere for big money and ends up being a flop

He isnt sure himself where he wants to be nxt season. he changes his mind on a weekly basis.

20 May 2012 16:19:29
Youssef Mulumbu has just put 'Chelsea, Liverpool or Newcastle next season...' on his twitter (real account). Just thought I'd share.

I saw that thought it may be to get top four but he missed out spurs and arsenal
Got to be transfer related but can't see why we would want him

Who's he play for?

West brom

Who's going to sign him then? we have no manager or DOF.

A young American super kid by the name of Andrew smith has joined the liverpool academy in the UNITED STATES. Andrew is already the finest midfielder in the Olympic development program. He is the next American star. He can function as a cAM or a cm or a ss. He has a scoring record in odp that is the best ever recorded. 2 per game. He is the next star and I'm really glad that he has joined the academy. Remember his name.
AnfieldUSA

How many times have we heard this before

AnfieldUSA, do you know how old he is and what part of the US he is from?

He won't be good enough, how many americans are

This is exactly what we should be doing

Interest in pro football (as opposed to as a kids sport) is exploding over here in the States. The CL final was on network TV; last weekend there were EPL matches on about five different cable channels.

Anyone who thinks US is not going to produce some major talent is stupid. And by the way, have you heard of Dempsey, Holden, Bradley, McBride, etc?

The next Freddy Adu?

Any country can make good players with the right coaches. As it is buying young players cheap with potential is just what we need and what we were trying to do with Rafa.

A person posts about an exciting talent and already people are writing him off because of his nationality
derryred

The sport is really growing in the US and because of how many kids have the opportunity to play sports here in the next 20 yrs I see more stars coming out of the US than anywhere else

He is from the state Georgia. He is in 10th grade I think. He is not the next Freddy adu as he plays centermid. He is a mixture of gerrad and brek Shea. He has got pace and a clinical finnsher.
One more thing.
He has not actually signed so he can't be called a Liverpool player. But he will. The brightest U.S. talent ever?
And to the guy who said he isn't good enough. Mate, he's better than anything you've seen. When in 6th grade, he was starting for his highschool team. And In 7th, he made the state team.
AnfieldUSA

"He's not good enough " Have we sunk that low that we're slagging off kids before they have even joined the club. So much for the the Anfield family. Have you forgotten who we are, we are more than the some of our parts....we are they, they are us

Thank you derryred!
AnfieldUSA

Thanks AnfieldUSA, this is what this site is all about. Cheers mate.

DaveyBootle

AnfieldUSA i think you are over hyping him. he is probably going to be really realy really good. but not to what you are rating him. im from canada i know what your talking about it exploding tho

Once the Americans get their teeth into something they usual end up producing world class players.

Give this lad a chance and encourage him, don't slag him off because he is an American!

Wow such bad attitudes to someone just throwing a bit of info in, keep it up anfieldusa ignore the be**ends.

Mate. I'm not Overhyping him. Have you seen him play?
AnfieldUSA

@ He won't be good enough, how many americans are

I've no doubt that you are the sort of clown who gives genuine supporters a bad name. I'll bet that you rubbished the idea of Liverpool buying a Finnish defender when we brought in big Sami. Many less high profile countries are capable of producing real world class players.

Who would have thought that Northern Ireland would provide talents such as Pat Jennings and George Best? Or that Liberia could produce someone like George Weah?

Similarly Wales have been able to call on Ian Rush, Gareth Bale and Ryan Giggs and Finland on Jari Litmanen in recent years.

Geography does not always determine ability and no player should be excluded or prejudged because of it.

One or two of our biggest names will be sold, renia, skrtle, agger, suarez. (i really hope non of them leave) but i have reason to believe renia will be going to malaga for round the £15-20mill mark. Is there any hard evidence or talks between renia and malaga ?

Reason being?

Suarez wont be sold unless 30mill plus is offered .. to be honest he,s a liablity ..skrtel should be sold and bring in a cb who has pace ,and good on the ball .. someone who can make good passes forward and can bring the ball forward .. our distrubution from the back is poor ..to many long balls and sloppy passes .. we,re always given the ball away cheaply .. kyut , maxi, skrtel, carra, bellamy ..we can get better players than these and downing and adam id be given them till jan 13 to dramatically improve or get rid of them at the soonest oppurtinity .. squad needs a complete over haul of players .. the standard of play at liverpool over the last few years even in Rafa,s last year is horrendus

I think reina can be replaced most easily, especially for £15-20m. Would be gutted if either of the other 3 were sold. I feel we've got a world class spine to the team. We just need to sort out the flanks.

They signed Kameni in January, They don't need Reina

I posted in jan that deals wre in place for both Reina to Malaga (20-25m) and suarez to PSG (35-40m) and I got slated for it, but there you are.

Reina, one of the worlds top goalkeepers, Skytel, awarded player of the season, Kyut, pure grafter, Maxi, great choice as sub............you are talking crap if you think these players don't play their part. Typical modern day "football fan" coming of with this rubbish........complete change of squad sure, why not....my arse...

Id sell every1 bar enrique

Reina has been poor this season. I wouldn't sell him but I would start looking for his replacement now incase he has another poor season.

Gaz1975.

"to be honest he,s a liablity"
What a load of rubbish.Where do some of you people get such stupid ideas from, Alex Ferguson?

IMO

Out:
Aurelio (contract)
Aquilani
Wilson
Maxi (but try to keep him)
Downing (in January if he play crap again)
Maybe youngsters on loan e.g. Spearing, Flanno, Robbo

Keep Joe Cole as hes done brill at Lille.

Downing will improve next season he is a good player. I'd keep Spearing and Flanaghan and I think that Robinson may be able to challenge Jose Enrique for left back

U cant class spearing as a youngster hes as old as lucas , we need to get rid he's bloody useless

On loan btw, so they will come back to us

Spearing ain't a youngster anymore. He's 24 and it's probably time to sell him. I think Robinson will be a brilliant LB. Hope he gets some games.

*'youngerstars' ... spearing, are you having a laugh? hes crap lol

Yea goodbye Aurelio, it was nice having him at times but Roy re-signing Fabio was sheer desperation caused by H&G.

Aquilani, the most frustrating transfer we've ever had. The fee we're gonna get will be so low I'm not sure if we should even bother selling him, he is talented.

Wilson needs a loan somewhere he will get games, the championship hopefully, maybe back to rangers. No point staying to be 5th choice.

I love Maxi but he's gone, thanks for your efforts.

No way we will sell Downing and take a huge 1 season loss, unless a freak high bid come in.

If he's happy to do so Spearing should be a fringe member of the squad, on low wages and nowhere near the 1st team except in an emergency or easy cup match. If he has any ambition he should go elsewhere.

The 2 fullbacks need loans to a club that will play them, championship minimum. It didn't do Kyle Walker any harm.

Stevie G shouldn't be part of a 2 man centre midfield again at Liverpool. Rafa knew it years back and it's even more obvious now. He has to play the no.10 role/trequartista whatever you want to call it. I've often wondered if he could end up as either a centre back or centre forward.

I find Jose Enrique unbelievably frustrating to watch, he needs a Phil Thompson (could be Carragher soon enough) on the touchline screaming at him.

Reina has been very average for a while now, he's been a great character but a huge bid should be considered carefully.

Kuyt is also a great character, he's not a first 11 player anymore. I think he will go elsewhere to get games, good luck to him.

We cannot afford to sell Suarez.

I like the thought of De Boer as manager given his Ajax connections, I also still have a lot of time for Rafa.

That was a long one lol, anything to avoid doing some actual work.

If downing plays crap again nobody will consider him for the price FSG will want.

Spearing isn't a youngster, he should be sold

Maxi plus £8m for nolito

20 May 2012 14:12:15
Are Fulham interested in Jay Spearing and are we interested in Mahamadou Sakho?

Thanks,
AK. {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

Fulham? Accrington Stanley won't want him

I don't think Jay is a premiership footballer. I don't know why kenny kept with him. It cost us the Cup final in the end

20 May 2012 14:01:46
Heard that Steve Clarke has recommended to fsg that Liverpool look at Steinsson following his release from Bolton

20 May 2012 13:47:51
Eds is there any chance of jaou moutinho would be great and a lot better than belhanda and Ramirez. {Ed002's Note - Unlikely and very expensive - as much as Montpellier are after for Belhanda. Out of the three Ramirez would be the most likely.}

20 May 2012 13:28:03
Aurelio, Kuyt, Spearing, Skrtel, Maxi, Joe Cole and Aquilani will all leave Liverpool, AVB will be announced as the manager within the next 14 days with the following players arriving Sturridge, Powell, Holiett, Godin, Gastón Ramírez .... will Suarez leave? I have no clue

Skrtel is going nowhere homie.

Apparently powell has gone to man u

Stupid post

I would have thought any player transfers, in's or out's, would be dealt with by the new manager, but in the exception of Hoilett, as he is a free we should have been in talks with him before the season ended. The lad has loads of quality and any manager can see that. The existing players you've mentioned could feature a lot more under the new manager, as he will have his own ideas, who he wants in the squad, and those that won't be a part of it.

Happy with that apart from skrtel. Dead wood

You have no idea what players will come in or out the new manager will get who they think is good for the club

20 May 2012 13:27:02
Everyone needs to calm down a bit, do you really all think that we're going to sell our best defender and striker before we even employ a new manager? On top of that who would we attract to the managers role if we told him you can have the job but we're going to sell such and such before you even start the season? Whoever gets the job will want assurances that he isn't going to get stitched up before he even starts a game.

Tbf Agger is our best defender :P

JP

De Jong instead of Sturridge and Erikson instead of hoilett plz.

Its in the mirror mate yonks losing 50million want to cut wage slips haha we're going down this is Everton time now I think

Exactly - having those players in the squad is what is going to attract managers.

And of course everything that appears in the Mirror is absolute gospel and we should all 100% totally believe it

20 May 2012 13:22:46
I know Suarez is as good as gone but I really hope skrtel stays

Skrtel is the most overrated player i have ever seen.

Liverpool are reported by the echo that they are in talks with Suarez and skrtel over new and improved contracts so whoever told you that Suarez is as good as gone is leading you up the garden path

How do you know?

I heard that lfc and suarez were negotiating a contract that would see him with a 25% wage increase any of the eds kno if this is true? cheers. CRAIG {Ed002's Note - Sorry, I don't know.}

Skrtel can be replaced, Suarez can't! Regardless of who was player of the year.

For £20m I'd snap their hands off for Skrtel. A good season buit I would ahve got shut for £9 or £10m last season. You could get Javi Martinez from Bilbao who's capable of playing centre mid as well and great user of ball from the back. And if Rafa gets the gig it'll be Carroll he'd be looking to sell not Suarez. Rafa's mantra with strikers - movement and game intelligence. That's why he went through so many - not many have both.

20 May 2012 13:14:48
Just picking up on a lot of Suarez will be sold situation, especially after a scout of ours has said to Italian press "he isn't going anywhere" (I forget where I seen the article), surely that would be the new managers decision whether to sell him or not? Personally I don't want him to go! Just curious. Would like to see AVB in charge! Will support whoever it is though!

20 May 2012 12:46:08
I posted on here a while ago about us being interested in St. Pats player James forrester. Unfortunately, it appears that he has chosen Charlton over us. Good young player but probably a more realistic move for the lad.

Cheers,
Greed red

Im also a rovers fan and he is star in the making

Chris Forrester not James

he will feel at home in Charlton, its a bit like Inchicore :)

His name is christopher not james

20 May 2012 12:30:09
What's the deal with Sam magri of portsmouth I seen him play for us once was he signed/will he?

He Was on trial but I'm not sure whether they decided to sign him or not

He signed and then went back on loan to pompy

Red Rout

20 May 2012 12:17:39
A little rumour I've just heard;
AVB will be offered the job next week.
S.Clarke will stay as No. 2.
Suarez and Skrtel will be sold for combined £50m to Juve and Fiorentina respectively.
He will be given £30m to spend + £40m off the Suarez/Skrtel sales.
J.Moutinho, T.Walcott, A.Johnson, N.De Jong. D.Sturridge and 2 defenders but no names on them.
PT77

According to the press Fiorentina are prepared to pay £30.000.000 for Skrtel
So £20.000.000 for Suarez no chance! {Ed002's Note - Nobody will be paying £30M for Skrtel.}

So what you are saying is:-
1. You know who the new manager is, and
2. You know who his targets are, as well as
3. Which LFC players he will sell and to whom.
That just shows how in the dark the rest of us are.
solidair

He hasnt got the job yet but yet you know his transfer targets.dream on mate

More like you read it on bbc.co.uk/football rumours. nice try though.

Its important not to believe media propaganda: Right now media are attacking LFC left right & centre inluding some ex LFC players who should know better. Change has been needed for some time the current set up couldn't go on. We now need to wait and see what changes are implemented we also need to clearly see the two different sides of the media through this. The side that wanted Kenny out and as soon as this was initiated the side that attacked the owners. Don't let the media blind you to the truth

Well for one steve clarke resigned instantly when the king left. utter tosh

So no goal scoring striker?

Steve Clarke is still with us, his resignation was rejected straight up. Singred

I don't believe that Suarez will leave Skrtel may however. I can't see AVB getting job Martinez looks set for job. I'd have Adam Johnson defiently and maybe Walcott but that's it. Certainly not Sturridge

Breaking news: pt77 confirmed as new liverpool manager...

...might as well be, he knows more than anyone else.

tippers

Tippers, I cud do a better job than the last 2 managers!!
PT77

Put the xbox away lol

Doing transfers is just as simple as that

If we got all them players for 70mil we be doing well

Talk about optimistic. How the hell can we be "linked" with anyone when we don't even have a manager to decide which players he wants at Liverpool. We are linked with NOBODY until we get a new manager

20 May 2012 12:08:30
If all this stuff about about the owners not going to invest and selling star players to slash the budget is true and if they appoint Martinez it may be time to get the "Yonks Out" flags out of the loft.

Regrettably, it effectively is true.
They were corporate predators with a very softly spoken front man.

debt facilities in place for 190m.
Bought the club cheap, net profit on player sales + wage reductions.

Why don't we just wait and see

You've got to give FSG some credit. Look at what they have done to Red Sox. Why would things would be different with Liverpool?

Fact is we haven't got top 4. The owners are not going to plough money into the club because the manager and players failed. Why should they?

If you want someone to chuck money at the club City style then I hope you NEVER get what you want because that would sell out on everything that LFC stands for.

All this talk about slashing budgets is nonsense. Had we qualified for the champions league then the money would have been there. Simple.

Rubbish! In order to profit from the club they need it to be successful. Why else sack Dalglish? If they aren't concerned in the medium to long term, why not just let him remain? Get used to the fact that we cannot afford star names and huge wages. They are looking at bringing younger players with lots of potential that will bring a return on the investment -- that return could be success, or greater sell-on value. Our club will be well run for the first time in years.

So why can we not afford top players after all fsg are supposed to be a collective of billionaires.so if they want to make money they will have to spend money top 4 spot does not come cheap. bratty

Dont trust the yonks any more no different than the hicks and gillete

Wtf are Yonks ?

20 May 2012 11:41:59
Why all the doom and gloom. Look at Juve, they were in Serie B 2 seasons ago and now they are champions. Inter haven't qualified for the Champs League but they will still attract top players. We are LFC as greater if not greater club as these two. Last year was a blip. We can still attract top players and we will be a force next season. Just keep the faith. YNWA.

Raz 1892

Great post exactly

RAZ1892 - i have been trying to keep the faith for the last the 3 years, the sale to the american owners in my view was the worst move in liverpools history. they do not know anything about the liverpool culture, way, or history, the have purchased this club for it financial gain and thats it, Kenny should have got another season at least b ut that did not happen and please give me a example of any world class players we are linked with?? all mediocre average no name players attracted to liverpool.

Shesh - Kopite

Last year was a blip ? Where have you been for the last 20 years ? With the exception of 2001 & 2005, there has been very little in the way of success. To correct you, realistically, we actually cant attract the top players any more and you'll see that as the summer unfolds. We'll do well to retain our one top player Suarez. You can look at Inter & Juve all you want but dont forget to look at Leeds and Notts Forest as well. This club came close to administration when RBS moved in about 18 mths ago. If you consider a 10 point reduction from this season's points tally we would have survived relegation by the skin of our teeth and probably had a transfer embargo - consider that!. SOME supporters are still in denial and living in the 70's and 80's with the belief that we have some sort of devine right to return to being a top 4 club etc. and win trophies just because we're a big club with great history and traditon etc etc. The club are gonna have to buck up thier ideas fast. The next managerial appointment is gonna make or break this club. I am praying to God Fenway make the right appointment as i am sure lots of fans are.

Juve were in serie B not because they were relgated, but because they were expelled following corruption. They still had the money and resources, so no surprise to see them back on top

Well said raz an to the other poster if we had of scored when we hit the post 32 times we would have been in the champs league u div

You are now were as great as theses clubs any more , this is your problem you can't see past the end of your nose, you had a blip as well did you the year before the one just gone. Typical kopite

We'll be in the championship if we don't get the right manager

Well said dude

20 May 2012 10:21:37
Probably never gonna happen. And eds I know we aint got a manager so dont bother saying, Wesley Sneijder could be the answer to our midfield problems. Inter are in Europa League next season and he has said he would love to play in England. I say try and get him before the likes of Utd and City do {Ed002's Note - I suspect wages would be a major issue.}

Hes to old-28 , would be too much money on signing him-transfer fee ,very high wages , nearly double what most of our top earners are on , and also has played only half the games due to injurys each season for the past 4 or 5 years for his club , a big no-no...............lfc

Win is torres come back

Sneijder would be the answer to our midfield problems...it's a shame that we haven't got a cat in hells chance of signing him or anybody like him. FSG wouldn't pay the transfer fee, let alone the £175k a week wages he is on.

I think Liverpool will be looking to sign young talent who will command lower wages and relatively small transfer fees (like Arsenal do) from now on. It's all part of the FSG cost-cutting exercise.

Realistically only 3 clubs in England could sign him - chelsea, city & utd.

Ed rumours are FSG are not going to invest heavily in this transfer window, concentrating on slashing wage budget and promoting youth. Surley this is madness as we will fall further behind the top 4 and thus suffer even more financial pain. Surely we need to spend this summer to have any hope of bridging the gap?

What are your views, do FSG simply not have the money? {Ed002's Note - FSG have been investing heavily in the club but heavy losses have driven them to look to making cuts. They will no doubt continue to be supportive but they are simply not in the position financially to spend like Anzhi, PSG, Palermo, Real Madrid et al will do this summer. But there is nothing new in this.}

If this is true then we will become the new newcastle utd and face relegation battles more often than not.both manchester clubs along with chelski will dominate epl and our history will flicker like a flame about to be extinguished by drafty window. Bratty

Skertal and suarez ARE getting sold and avb as been offerd the liverpool job

Shouldn't listen to sunday rumours. The press are just loving kicking the club while it is down!!

Sunday paper bullshe*p??

STOP just repeating the BBC gossip columb its boring!!

How do posts like this get on to the rumours page? The guy can't even spell and knows nothing? {Ed002's Note - All he is doing is passing on what the newspapers are saying.}

...so you read in the Daily Mirror this morning.

And you know this how?

Sjb76

Been reading the papers then.

Says who?

Papa G

Surez want go but i dont no about skritel

Most of you only disagree with what he's saying because you do not like it and NOT because he is regurgitating news from Sunday Papers. At least the OP is not pretending to have a cousin who looks after a dog in a place where a person came to visit wearing a mask and had close ties to John Henry! He is not indulging in fantasy football like some others tend to.

This is of course the same paper that said a few days ago that Suarez was being offered a lucrative extension to his contract to stay at anfield.....I smell BS big time!

Really tired of the press making up crap just to fill the pages and do their utmost to undermine confidence... Hear that Gareth Bale is on his way to PSG as they can offer him CL regularly (we can all harp on it just aim worth the paper it written on until it's officially corroborated by a REPUTABLE source) of which I'm certainly not!

Three clubs want skrtel two in italy and one in spain.The owners may sell if a big offer comes along. One club who have approached LFC is Fiorentina. Suarez will be a palermo player by the end of the transfer window according to sources in italy. It is belived they will make him one of europes top earners and promise to build a team around him. A fee of around 30 million pounds is expected to be accepted by liverpool owners. The italian media say palermo will do anything it takes to get their top transfer target even offering him more then double he's current £80,000 a week salary. James Richardson also said suarez is open to the idea of a move to italy.

Doubtful any Italian club apart from Roma can offer that kind of money: Again its Sunday press loving to kick the club while its down {Ed002's Note - Palermo will spend in the order of 150M euros rebuilding this summer.}

I for one would not like to see suarez sold at any price, but the amounts being banded around are just a joke, 30 mil for our best player? h**king insane.

Wtf. When did palermo started to spend big money. What a joke {Ed002's Note - I have explained this all before.}

There is big Arab money in Palermo.

Suarez isn't on 80 grand a week 30 40 tops andy irl

Joe Cole has come back to england after he's loan spell ended. {Ed002's Note - His loan spell has not ended yet.}

hello ed i am on this site everyday and let me congratulate you ur doing such a wonderful job keep it up guys just wana know ur opinion, is it possible that the yonks may approach the quatari or the saudis for the naming right of the stadium and the latter may inject lots of money for the transfer plzz forgive me if this have been discussed before
thnks {Ed002's Note - If money comes in for the naming rights of a new stadium then that money will go toward the development of the stadium. If the owners decided to take the forbidden route of selling naming rights to the existing stadium then that could provide money for redevelopment and money for other purposes - but I think that much less likely and I am well aware it would upset the fans.}

Well upsetting the fans will happen because unless naming rights are sold the chances are there will be no stadium=less income=less money for players=buying players like Konchesky= disaster!!So rather than worrying about tradition and sentiment, lets hope lfc move on when it comes to money....please.Pinhead.

The fans need to remember that that is the only way we can stay at Anfield, to change the name. It could be The Coca Cola Anfield Arena for example. that way we'd still call it Anfield.

hey ed's.....a red from India...great si8 and i'm enjoying great news here....will Villyan Bijev make the benches or strats next season??as i'm in India i could'nt know about his loan spells....how is he playing for his loa club?? {Ed002's Note - The problem is about his ability to gain a work permit. No doubt Liverpool will again try but I fear it may be tough so perhaps another year on loan.}

Its best if hes loaned out, he'll get more minutes :)

He should go to Genk

Hi Eds, are Liverpool offering Suarez a new contract as per the Echo report? And if so do you think that makes it more likely that he will be staying? Cheers!

DP {Ed002's Note - I really don't know what the deal is with a new contract.}

Hope Suarez stays

Yes they are, And yes he is staying.

gee man

I hope Suarez stays too, but I'm convinced that if an acceptable bid comes in, FSG will sell.

Anything written in the echo is genuine LFC news.... whether he signs a new contract or not, remains to be seen but I'm sure he is more than happy to continue playing for us.

Question for Macca if possible,

Do you know if we have interviewed Emery or if he is on the shortlist?

Cheers

Nevada

Is he not at spartak now ? {Ed002's Note - He will be.}

If I am not mistaken Emery accepted an offer in Russia.

American Red

Didn't Emery become Spartak manager the other week? {Ed002's Note - He has agreed to join them, yes.}

Think hes off to moscow m8

Emery is with Spartak. Officially announced few days ago. He is not available.

Ed What are the chances of Suarez leaving and if so why are we quoting such low figures

Thanks plus congrats on champs league {Ed002's Note - There has to be at least a fair chance. I don't know what figure the club has in mind. And thanks.}

Suarez will not leave for less than 35Mill.

Evening all. I've followed this site for as long as I can remember. I love it. A first time post so I hope it makes it up. Im based on RAF Culdrose. I've been on duty all weekend. I was on guard on Friday and was running aerons for Beckham amongst others. I didn't get much chance to speak with him but towards the end of the night we had a brief discussion about football. One thing lead to another and we got on to the topic of Liverpool. I quizzed him on who he thought would be our next manager and to start with he said he didn't know but his passing comment was "it won't be who you expect it to be and I think you are all in for a surprise!" He smiled and walked off and that was that. I know he is nothing to do with us or any way linked to the club but I thought that was quiet a strong statement and it stuck with me so thought I would share it with you all. Thanks and keep up the good work eds

So when you were talking to becks how close did you get? considering when I did a pepsi advert with him I had to sign a contract stating that I wouldn't speak with him.

Also why would he want to speak with you about Liverpool? I mean as a Spurs/United fan living in LA I am sure he doesn't give two sh*ts about our club at all!

well done tho!

Now thats an intriguing rumour post
Red G

It's Posh Spice then?

A spam supporting relative of mine told me there were rumours the owners have been talking to Gary Neville about being involved in the management team at Liverpool. My reply was that it was a load of nonsense, but it's probably 100% more believable than Beckham knowing who our next manager is before we have interviewed the candidates.

Back in the real world I also heard that a lot of potential managers have been put off by the way we're approaching them and wanting to conduct 'american style interviews'. I've no idea exactly what is meant by that or whether this is common knowledge but I just thought I'd share. {Ed002's Note -

I've spoke to bex and didn't need a pass..nice man really..was he at could rose for the torch? Or was he helping Chris old packing at tesco.smf

You were running his aerons?

Was someone else helping him out with his errands?

Don't you mean RNAS Culdrose ?
P.S why would beckham be there ?

This post gives me genuine hope of being able to post any old B***S*** and it being approved by Eds. :)

So a player that never played for liverpool but played for one of their biggest rivals had you running "aerons" for him? 1. what liverpool supporter runs ERRANDS for beckham? 2. What does beckham know about our next manager?!

Father xmas, now that will a surprise ;)

My major concearn is not what becks did or did not say, its the fact someone who is in our armed forces doesnt know how to spell errands.

So despite saying he doesn't know, he somehow knows it won't be who people expect?

Sounds legit..

I thought Culdrose was RNAS not RAF and if you work there then surely you would know that? Cornish Red

RAF??? If you work there or even visit you'd know it's a Navy base.......better not return considering how many of our service men and women you just pissed off.

Nice to hear, but possibly an easy way to look in the know but still have no clue. If I where an pro I'd say somthing as broad as that if hadn't clue.
I mean your not going to see him in the navey a week on Tuesday and quiz him on it. But you did walk away thinking nice one becks.
Cool post though..

Markolfc

Markolfc

It's not RAF Culdrose, It's RNAS Culdrose.. It's a Royal Naval Airbase. If you can't get that right, I doubt the rest is correct....

Beckham was there with the Olympic torch but if you were based there you'd know it's RNAS Culdrose NOT RAF Culdrose! So you sir are talking cr@p!

Oh no ! we are getting Beckham as player manager !!

What a pile of rubbish. RNAS Culdrose (Royal Navy Air Staion) not crabs. What squadron are you on there? If you are going to make stuff up get it right. Anyway what would becks know

Is it going to be "Our Cilla" surprise, surprise?

Oh dear, you have just embarrassed yourself there pal. You thought that just because there were aircraft there it must have been the RAF. So i'll make up a rumour about me being there. The Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm has existed far longer than the RAF. So i reckon that you weren't even in cornwall on Friday. Nearly as poorly educated as David Beckham himself!
For what's its worth don't be at all surprised if AVB is the next Liverpool manager, despite his blip at Chelsea, FSG see him as the ideal long term solution to help rebuild the club and also to be able to attract youngsters from various Portuguese youth academies - As you would expect FSG were particularly interested in the Next Gen series and were hugely impressed by Sporting Lisbon and their infrastructure. It is hoped AVB would be able to lure some up and coming talent to Liverpool, as he is still held in high regard in Portugal.
Luke (original cornish red)

Gents it is RNAS Culdrose. Consiersing there are only 2 Naval bases in the country and it is a Multi task air base, including RAF, cadets and Americans I didnt think me choosing to use a more generic word that you would all recognise would be an issue. It's not like I have made up names just simply repeated a point of interest from a conversation had.

Its great when you intelectual service numbties get yer dander up

That sounds like could be cappello then mate who else would he have info on ???

To the original poster. Did you just google culdrose? There are no RAF units there, nor American. There are more than two Naval bases in the country, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Faslane, maybe two Naval Airstations Culdrose and Yeovilton. You're just making yourself sound silly. We know you weren't there, perhaps put a name to your posts next time to see if I know you or not?

Hi ed's, any previous intrest of Nick Powell from Crewe? Heard something about him going to Man U for 4million? Any truth in that?

Cheers

Big T {Ed001's Note - there is interest in him from Everton, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea and Man Utd. Probably more clubs too, it's just there aren't many with a chance, that lad is a bit special.}

Remember the days when we used to get on well with Crewe and pretty much have first option on any talent they produced?

Was that good relations with the club or just Dario Gradi?

If I were Powell, I'd go to Everton of any of them. They've put the most players in the first team of any of those clubs. Although that may be about to change with our current crop.

TSP

He could be a bit special, its up to him if he goes the Steven Gerrard route or the Michael Johnson one.
