Why did I get 20 unbelievables? Is it because I stated realistic targets (n'zogbia and honda). Do you lot want to be linked with the mata's and llorente of the world? That we'll never get.

Okay I can do that. My uncle said we're after Mata for 19 million and pato for 38 million plus a beer. Ed has your source told you we're getting messi. I was told we were looking at him. Seriously tho we're not getting international superstars. {ed's note - he said we were going to swop Poulsen and Babel for Messi. Oh wait no sorry that was FM11, doh!}

To the comments about Elmander.

I can see where your coming from if LFC sign Elmander.
But Elmander could proove to be a suitable strike partner for Torres. Elmander is passionate, determinded and a fully dedicated striker who has a very physical aspect to his game. This could benefit Torres if Elmander takes some of the physical pressure of the game off Torres.

The only problem is that if LFC sign Elmander, LFC will still be dependent on Torres to score the majority of the goals. If Torres manages to get injured, then LFC will be left with Elmander upfrount who on his day is only as good as Milan Baros.

Who is the better left winger charles n'zogbia (agree) or joe cole (disagree)?

To Middlesboro who says they will not be able to resist the right offer (£8M) for David Wheater this winter.
To Bolton who says they may have to sell this winter and refuse to confirm Johan Elmander will not be sold.
To Wigan's Dave Whelan who says he expects N'Zogbia to be gone by the end of January.

Is anyone else thinking what i'm thinking? Lets hope not eh?

Bob the Red

I think you are on the right track except for Elmander (of whom I think would 've been a decent purchase)
Roy

{Editor's NOte: Elmander's out of contract in the summer.}

Romelu Lukaku's agent believes an English side will win the race to sign the coveted Anderlecht striker.

"In England, instead, I have direct contact with several clubs which have shown more determination about the player.

"However, we aren't yet at the stage of real negotiations and formal offers to Anderlecht.

"They are an ambitious club and it will be a difficult decision to deprive themselves in January of one of their best players."

we are one of those teams!

Totally agree harry , ive jus seen on it on sky sports and i think without a doubt were definatly interested , think its us and chelsea , not arsenal because they have van p , chamkah , vela , bednter so i don't think he would get played at arsenal , also spurs were apperently interested but i don't think they are cause they have crouchy keane defoe and pav so won't be able to play him , its between us and chelsea , his agent said " they are an ambitious club " Ed would you say that's us or chelsea? he will play games at liverpool at chelsea they have drogba anelka kalou sturridge so his chances would be a bit limited , If nesv want young talent for the future lukaku is without a doubt worth the money EASY , gotta get him can't let a club like chelsea beating us to one of the top prospects in the future. I HOPE WE SIGN HIM!

{Editor's Note: Chelsea are well and truly in the lead for his signature - but there is obviously a glimmer of light.}

Is rumours to be around 5 m

Liverpool, Tottenham and Blackburn Rovers have been alerted to the possibility of signing Benfica striker Oscar Cardozo in January, Goal.com UK can reveal.

The prolific Paraguayan has been offered to the three Premier League clubs for £14 million in the upcoming transfer window.

This is significantly less than the £22m fee that Manchester City were quoted for Cardozo last summer following his blistering form in the 2009-10 campaign, when he plundered 38 goals in 47 games.

Cardozo's appearances this season have been limited by a knee injury but his record of 81 goals in 135 Benfica matches since moving to Portugal from Newell's Old Boys for £9.4m in 2007 makes him one of the most reliable finishers on the continent.

Goal.com UK understands that Cardozo's first choice is to move to Spurs, but manager Harry Redknapp is not convinced about the Paraguay international's goals-to-chances ratio.

City's interest in the 6ft 3in Paraguayan is believed to have cooled as they have centred their efforts on signing Wolfsburg's Edin Dzeko in January; but Liverpool and Blackburn are among the clubs who are in the market for an established front man.

The 27-year-old has told friends that he would be keen on a switch to the Premier League, having admitted in the past that he would like a move to a "big club" where he could be expected to receive an increase on his current £28,000-a-week salary.

Although he is contracted to Benfica until 2014, the Primeira Liga champions and two-times European Cup winners believe it might be a good time to cash in on their prize asset.

Don't rate Oscar Cardozo personally.

If we're gona spend £14m on someone, why not put it to Honda?
===================================
There are going to be loads of good players available for transfer to northern european leagues in January as the economic situation begins to bite particularly from the likes of the Portugal, Spain, Italy and Greece Leagues. Players previously quoted at £20m will be available for over half that because of the collapse of the so called "PIIGS"(Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Greece, Spain) economies and the possible collapse of the Euro currency.

Gerrard, Torres and Reina have undoubtidly had the chance to speak with John W.Henry. They know that miracles can't happen over-night. I'm sure Henry will have told them their intentions for the club and I'm sure if we sign one or two good players in January, with the view to doing much the same in the Summer, they will be convinced to stay.

But I do feel a change in management and a good push for 4th place would convince them even more.

Liverpool want to bring in a left winger - based on Comolli's recommendation - it is a choice between Dmitri Payet and Antoine Griezmann. Comolli was at the England vs France game and took particular interest in performances of Phillip Mexes, Yann M'Vila, Karim Benzema, Adil Rami, Jordan Henderson and Andy Carroll.

Do Not be so pessimistic, the days of broken promises are behind Liverpool now, and we are now owned by people who have a proven track record of progressing their club. Put the H & G era behind you, we should be full of new hope and morale, but we should always remember how bad things can get!

RE Gillett and Mill Fiancial. This is being reported all over the US financial media including the Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg so it must have legs. The only pity is that Hicks is not named in the lawsuit as he was not involved. Personally I think Hicks was the worse of the two and Gillett would have sold earlier on if Hicks had agreed. Then he may not have been in the situation he is in.

Around £7-8bn. If you want to get fussy and include New York Times Company shareholders then it's around £65-70bn, taking into account that Carlos Slim Helu owns a fifth of NYTC (though he'd never give us his personal cash).

Roy wants to launch a bid for Keisuke Honda. His World Cup exploits and goals from midfield are key to how Roy wants to play. His club, CSKA, have Alan Dzagoev and Keisuke Honda to play in one position, and want to sell one, preferably Honda as Dzagoev is Russian. He would most likely command a fee of 11m.

COME ON ROY
