Liverpool are about to confirm there will be no more summer arrivals in the transfer window. Cahill not needed, Hazard and Mata are distant targets. Expect movement in January. Comolli said we needed to get rid first before we can afford more players. KopKing.

Am sorry but a center half is needed KD knows that

I cannot see us coming out and saying we wont get anyone else in before the end of the window.If a deal can be done on a target we are after then i believe it will be done for the right money.Maybe 2 more in and 2 more out.
JJ blackpool

Ah, I think Mata might be a very, very distant target considering he just agreed terms will Chelsea.

Wolfman

So kenny and the owners lied about nt needing to sell before we by.

Commoli said no such thing so why lie ? and it isn't up to him it's up to daglish

I just cant understand why some muppets just make stuff up? whats the buzz to it? sado

Hazard and Mata are such distant targets you'd need Joddrel Bank radio telescope to find them You know nowt' mate save your fingers and stop posting

Benayoun to sign next week

red otter

Were u get that from

You are clearly a fool. He will be part of the Modric deal

SPURS PREFER JOE COLE, SO WE MIGHT GET BENAYOUN. MACCA SAID IT TOO.

Of course guys, cos we need more midfielders. Why would LFC want him back? Some LFC fans seem to think he was really good when in fact all he did was sit on the left and cut inside. One of the most predicatable players on the pitch. I can guarantee he will not be coming back to Liverpool and I just cannot believe you think he will be

And if mighty Macca said it it's bound to happen? I don't believe it and never have.Why sign a 30 plus player who is now more and more injury prone when we have a really strong midfield already?

21 Aug 2011 22:00:13
Can we please start the Eden Hazard rumours now.

And the Higuain 1s to

ste liverpool

Il hazard a guess hes going to arsenal

Yes we may. Just so we can continue to annoy people who have a poor sense of humour.

Silva and tevez to sign deadline day

Erm...I think you just did. Well done lad

Stevieslaces

I'd love ta see him with us but it looks like the gunners are front runners

Sebastian Coates is the prefered CB of DC and KD over Cahil and Dann, enquiries for all 3 players have taken place but only one offer in excess of 8million will be placed within the next 24hrs and that will be for Coates.

So we are not going to go for 2 top quality proven cbs in the prem.think again mate.silly you

I mentioned him earlier and surprise surprise we are linked lol lol lol

Signed Me

Coates certainly looks strong and fit, would love LFC to unearth a diamond defender ala Sami Hyppia (fantastic bargain)

hi all

i have never posted a rumour before but usually only reply or post banter. but i will now. my brother works at a club where you would find cov players and the brummy lads to, it kind of helped as Ben Foster was from the town he works. anyway Dann is off to LFC it is his preferred option and the Kings, 99% sorted.

Sweetcorn

Dann is not going to LFC. If he moves it will be to Arsenal.

Could be true? Word on the street seems to think so English,23ish.
Kenny will turn him into an England International.
kidmillions

Word from the Dann camp is that he'll join Arsenal if he moves...

RedInS

Dann isnt moving anywhere, he will hold out for a free and move then.

Any truth that we are about to bid for Rodallega? Would be a good squad player.

Victor Moses is money maker, alot of potential, i expect him to have a great season. Then a bidding war in summer.

He on the edge of glory

There is repeated press buzz about Rodallega going to us or Spurs

Through the Storm

Tell me - what precisely is a "good squad player"? either they are good enough or not. full stop.

Hi (ED02) Could you please tell me, Roughly how much would Aqualani cost L.F.C. if he was to see his contract out. KB. By the way by initiasl are KB and I am very real.
Thanks. {Ed002's Note - Roughly £3.5M per year plus insurance and overhead costs.}

Alright ? I only added The Real bit cos obviously there's loads of people with our initials, and it's a way of distinguishing the posts. My Butler and Game Keeper have both assured me that I'm not in the least bit pretentious.
The Real KB

Ed002 do you think it would b in the best interests of the club to pay that money to let him go or would u do what i said in an earlier post and let him rot am a bit confused by all this we will b a laughing stock in italy {Ed002's Note - I have never said let him rot or anything of the like. He will be gone very soon.}

Q.P.R will sign Degan and Joe Cole on free transfers, giving both two year contracts. Final negotiations will take place this week and announcements expected Thursday/ Friday when medicals will take place.

Degan I'd deliver on a handcart but I do doubt Cole going for nowt' unless it means we don't have to pay him off to go

Hope it happens dont think we would b lucky enough to get rid of both to the same club though

red jonno

Hope they both pass with flying colours
ANFIELDPETE

Cole is leaving with no pay off hence the free transfer, enabling him to negotiate a hefty signing on fee.

Be good to get them off the books i wud of liked joe cole to have done well but i think hes past it now

Be pleased to see them both leave

Know Mata looks set for Chelsea we can stop the Mata rumours. I'm probably going to get allot of stick for this but I don't think Mata is what we need. Throughout the last two game it's been obvious that we are lacking the pace needed out wide and up front (bar Downey and Suarez). I also believe that if we had fast players around AC, he would really improve.
Wheeler92

Improve?we are two games im mate,we were unlucky against sunderland and won away at arsenal.give the team a chance you glory hunter

I dont think personally Mata is what we need,in the Valencica and Liverpool game he was no good to be honest,i think at the moment we have enough across midfield for the moment in what we are trying to do in qualifing for the champions lge and work from there, what we do need in a priority case is get rid of the sh*t that does not cut it with our club no names mentioned we all know they are also i would be happy with another decent striker just to keep Carroll on his toes as to be honest at the moment he aint making the grade..
Red dave

He's exactly what we need. Such a loss. You will see why shortly. Liverpool had the chance and really really BLEW IT . Same with Silva and Aguerro a couple of years ago. We're for some reason buying best of British which to be honest is not really that good.

You are entitled to your opinion because that what football is,i am quiet happy with the team we have at the the moment,Silva yeah great player,Mata no one knows yet,Aguero was not to hot against Bolton today because he was up against a good tough centre half (cahill)

I agree about Mata, Silva and Augero but our forward 4 (in a 4-2-3-1) of Carroll, Suarez, Gerrard and Downing will be more powerful and effective than any other in my opinion. We have pace at full back with Enrique and Johnson. We could do with 3 more players though, a very good striker (with pace), a world class centre back (with pace) and a very good centre mid - as a different option to Adam (someone with an overall game and pace). This is would enable us to fight city and utd for the title. I think Kenny would be authorsied to make a couple more signings but i'm not sure if the right players are going to available.

I also believe that if we had fast players around AC, he would really improve.
----------------------------------------
Presumably the need for two quick wingers would be to provide a quality service into a centre forward who is dominant in the air and who can attack these crosses. However, until Andy Carroll plays closer to the opposition's goal, and shows a greater desire to get into the penalty area we won't need any extra speed up front - because they will have no-one to cross it to.

Get it into your heads they wouldnt come to us

Mata is pace up frount and out wide up muppet. He was crap agianst us becuase they were 2/3 weeks behind us for fitness levels

21 Aug 2011 19:59:27
chelsea agree deal for mata, but in all fairness mata played crap against us, id rather have downing

Would much prefer downing have been hoping liverpool would sign him for the last 5 years delighted we have finnaly got him

red jonno

I'm a LFC fan but that first post was nothing but sour grapes - Mata is a brilliant talent and I look forward to watching him play

Corkpoolred

Probably played that way deliberately. But how can you judge a player on a pre-season friendly

Mata looks good in the spanish league not too sure he would make it in the prem. I agree Downing is quality.

I dont think the 1st comment was sour grapes, hes got a point,, he struggled against liverpool because we were to physical for him

No offence to Downing, but Mata is much better. Mata over Downing any day of the week but Downing gives us an English core which is probably better.

Why are we whinning over Mata, i know a player who offers about 1 zillion more than Mata, ever looked up Marko Marin??. For one he is younger than Mata, secondly, he is faster than Mata and i liken him to a german version of Downing and most of all, he offers more versatility than Mata, you wont believe this but he even played as a CF with Claudio Pizzaro on a couple of occasions for Werder.
We should get Marin to fill our right wing, he will be unstoppable. If we do not get him, i would suggest we boost our Asian ventures, go for Lee Chung Yong, i see him as the natural successor to Park Ji Sung in the Korean team as they both play as right sided wingers/midfielders...Marin first, if not Lee..

You can't judge a player on a pre-season friendly, so to say Downing is better than Mata at this stage is foolish. Downing has done really well since he joined and I hope that continues.

Mata has looked very good in La Liga, and he could potentially really spark Chelsea and Torres into life.

RedSG

21 Aug 2011 19:45:40
yes chelsea seem to have agreed a deal for juan mata, can we PLEASE not have everyone bleatingon like morans now with....another target missed to a rival team, we were not in for him, and 2 weeks ago when we played valencia everyone was giving it who needs mata when you've got downing, KK wanted downing not mata, and i can see why, so can the moaners not start after this news

I agree they had a look at him a chose Downing, so be it. I was never impressed by Downing but he is looking really sharp and is a lot faster then I thought.

Prelen

Mata to Chelsea another target missed

Don't kid yourself mate Mata will be an excellent signing for Chelsea.

Well said. another spanish flop at chavski. but good wages and a free ride on the russians boat. no loss, would have adam johnson all day over mata. downing a good signing, consistant and a tidy player. very much like giggs in some respect

Did i say i was kidding myself mate??
yes he will be a good buy for chelsea, no doubt, he'd be a good buy for anyone, but he wasn't for us, downing was, mata will require time to adjust to this league, downing doesn't, so no biggie let's hope he's as succesful as hit other spanish pal eh

21 Aug 2011 19:42:19
Hi Eds.

Do any of you know what the latest is, regarding the vacant assistant managers position. How come no one have been announced yet?

Sigetty {Ed002's Note - I suspect the role is being undertaken by Steve Clarke.}

Many people on here may well want to aply for the job.

21 Aug 2011 19:33:32
Valencia put Liverpool and Spurs on red alert as they admit they will entertain bids in excess of €12million for Roberto Soldado. Liverpool considering offering €10million upfront with further add ons if they can offload Alberto Aquilani for similar fee.

Brandon Rose

Where did you hear this? Am sure saldado would be worth a bit more than that

21 Aug 2011 19:31:46
We should hold out for at least £15 million for Alberto or make him see out his contract. {Ed002's Note - I suspect the deal likely to be put on the table for Aquilani is not going to please you then. I understand we are looking at something like a permanent deal for three years with (a) Liverpool being paid 6M euro over a couple of years; (b) Liverpool giving Aquilani 1M euro immediately to sweeten the wage deal; (c) Agent fees being waived; (d) Liverpool giving 300k euro to Roma to close out the remaining contractual clauses - and this is after paying the final instalment of 5M euro to Roma in June. If such a deal is agreed, I expect a move to AC Milan to go ahead. If not we are back looking at any sort of deal that can be struck with Fiorentina, Palermo or Juventus. IN any case, I expect he will be gone this week.}

Interesting Ed002. I understand that the squad players that have / are being moved on are getting paid to do so too. All these payments are equivalent to bringing a £15m transfer in. People need to realise this. Good stuff Ed.
The Real KB {Ed002's Note - You are absolute right KB.}

To me that is just crazy i know he wants out so why shoud we pay him to go i would let him rot first

red jonno

Ed, why do we need to sweeten Aquaman's salary? If he wants to go then he should be willing to accept lowered wages if he wants it that much?

Hasn't he effectively put in transfer request by stating on numerous occasions that he wants to go back to Italy? {Ed002's Note - It is a tough call now - Aquilani's agent fouled up the loan deal by asking for more money. Liverpool are keen to unload him as soon as they can - this is this week's deal.}

Yeh good point mate

ste liverpool

Hold out for 15 million pounds when no one will pay 10 million euros? That's beyond unrealistic. Or make a player who doesn't want to be here rot in the stands for three years? He is a real person with feelings who may find that disagreeable, not a name on the reserve players list in FIFA.

The Kaiser

What's the point having players around who don't want to be here and who may bring down squad spirit, are not gonna get picked, will still pick up 10s of thousands in wages every week ? None.
Better to get rid, and get people in who want to and can contribute.
The Real KB

Another Benitez ****up bites the dust

To be honest i`d like to see him stay, but he doesn`t want to play in the Premiership, he as we have seen an excellent player, we are building a team to bring back the glory days, I have said before, if he cannot get a deal he is happy with, as a pro he will give all to the badge.
Dont slate him , he has been honest, he wants to play in Italy, good luck to him. Unfortunatly he will prob come up against us next season. Fantastic player, good luck.
But on another note, I hope we can keep Raul, plys great with Suarez.
Ok just my thoughts
Kevc

Another foul up by the Dallas cowboys and Benitez to be sold for a whim,of what we paid for him.Just a few more to go.Pity Aquaman could not of been honest in the first place and said:England is cold,the food is terrible,don't like the football much,it's too quick for me.I'm only here for the good wages,and first class treatment table

21 Aug 2011 19:26:43
chelsea have signed mata officially

Not quite done yet, but looks extremely likely

No they have`nt. they have agreed a fee that`s all. not agreed personal terms or passed a medical.

21 Aug 2011 18:08:51
Ed in response to an early post do you think liverpool are looking at a striker from spain? {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware of.}

21 Aug 2011 17:49:45
Ed 002

Any truth in the rumour that we are interested in Bryan Ruiz of Twente.Brill site by the way.

J.R. {Ed002's Note - If you are a Fulham supporter sure, perhaps even if you are a Spurs supporter.}

21 Aug 2011 17:35:55
Hope we make a move for cahill this week because looks like redknapp's there to watch him an am sure arsenal an maybe chelsea could be keeping a close eye on him k. Phillips said there been no contact from any club before the match an i though we was meant to of held discussions about him?
Skurks {Ed002's Note - There have been no offers but there have been enquiries from Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs. Chelsea may have a passing interest as well.}

Sorry to burst your bubble but Harry is there because he has man city next week in the league ..

LFCHero :)

Redknapp is at the Bolton match cause Spurs are playing half an hour up the road tomorrow.
Phillips is not likely to give the Press a list of teams who have been speaking to them about potential transfers.
We know nothing.
Samui LFC

Yeah i know phillips is'nt likely to tell, but, o.coyle on many occasions has also said there's been no contact from any club? An redknapp can also look at a player as well as observing man city ready for next week so that means nothing he could of been there to observe both player an man city could'nt he.
Skurks

Yeh there gunna say that arnt they

21 Aug 2011 16:41:00
Liverpool to make an audacious bid to land a top striker from la liga I have a cousin who works for a spanish paper and lives in spain and their are some suggestions that a deal was discussed by dc and the club but not names on the player nor the club as the club do not want any competition from other clubs, this was the reason for dc's visit to spain. Il keep you guys posted.

Real kopite

Roberto Soldado or Pablo Osvlado?

Did'nt Phil Thompson say that he is sure that Liverpool will sign Higuain? maybe it's him? or am i completely wrong here?

I think Soldado from Valencia is more viable to be honest.
Scouse Pride

Thanks sooooo much for keeping us posted

Thanks for the post man hope its higuain seems to be out of favour for benzema at real at the moment :)

YNWA
RobLFC

That's handy working for a Spanish paper,and living in Spain

Salado is looking the more likely but rumours from madrid are that higuain is definitely not happy about falling behind benzema and maybe looking at a move elsewhere... However that move most likely will not be to anfield.

21 Aug 2011 16:00:32
hey ed's.. what's the chance of Adam Johnson signing in january? now that city have signed aguero, he will struggle to play regularly. he will get max 30 min of every match, and he will not be happy with that. do you think we will sign him in january? {Ed002's Note - I am not even going to think about January just yet.}

That's right Ed002. We don't start talking about the January window until Sept 1st, maybe 2nd at a push. Can't wait. Lol.
The Real KB

Would rather have Jarvis

21 Aug 2011 15:58:01
Are Liverpool Intrested In Per Mertersacker Please Reply ED {Ed002's Note - I suggested before that Liverpool and Arsenal will each get one of Cahill, Dann and Mertesacker. Nothing has changed my mind just yet.}

21 Aug 2011 15:49:36
Just heard on sky kevin phillips has been chatting to bolton chairman and he says that nobody has even phoned him about buying cahill,come on KK get ur goggles on and dial that number Great site eds

Eds have been saying this for god knows how long that no one has bid just inquires ..

LFCHero :) {Ed002's Note - Yep, and this is what the club have said. They bought his replacement in January and were expecting him to leave then.}

21 Aug 2011 15:37:20
Despite what the media and what everyone else is saying, I have it on very good authority that Scott Dann IS Liverpool's preferred option for a central defender. Dalglish has gone British this summer as he wants players who understand the club and the league and with Scott Dann being from Liverpool and a lifelong fan and season ticket holder, he sees there is no better player to sign in defence than Dann.
Liverpool have made tentative enquiries regarding Gary Cahill but have been quoted a fee closer to the £15m mark. Liverpool were priced out of a move for Dann earlier in the Summer but with Birmingham needing to sell players on high wages and with the deadline looming ever closer, they are willing to accept a lower fee.
Liverpool do now need to sell before they buy in order to reduce the wages at the club, and with Alberto Aquilani seeming to be edging closer to a move to Italy, expect Liverpool to move for Dann sooner rather than later. Arsenal may move for Dann but he would turn down possible Champions League football to play for his boyhood club.

*O'dell-Boy

So personal terms won't be factor?

My boyhood club is Liverpool, my adult club is Liverpool but if Liverpool offered me 5,00 per week and Bacelona offered me 50,000 per week I would have a duty to my family to go to Barcelona - NO

With arsenals wage policy cant see them offering more than us

ste liverpool

That season ticket is a bit of waste isn't it?

Samui LFC

Who is your good authority ? kenny?

Well get it done thensickve it dragging on.and get the urgently required pace uptop also

"very good authority" ? , absolute tosh

Many of us on here are lifelong fanns but doesn't mean we should get picked for the team. lol. Although I'm ready if I get the call.

I was meant to say former season ticket holder in my original post. For all you doubters, just and wait and judge me at the end of the transfer window. Just like anyone else who manages to get inside info, I am not going to disclose who my contact is. Like I said, judge me at the end of the transfer window.

*O'dell-Boy

I did see that Liverpool were apparently going to 'raise funds' in order to buy Dann- SSN this morning... how reliable that is, who knows?

The post is correct that Liverpool are Scott prefered destination but Liverpool told him in June that there are other priorities before centre back therefore he was willing to wait but he WILL move to Arsenal if Liverpool dont show there hand by the middle of this week, Scotts agent believes that LFC want him to run his contract down to get a knock down price in Jan or free next summer.

Souness 11

21 Aug 2011 15:27:07
Sebastian Coates?

Giant at 6'5, makes Carroll look small.

He is strong, dominant and a major threat from dead ball situations.

Would be a risk I expect 10m would do it but he is destined for greatness. Young player of the Copa America. He is gonna be class.

I assume Liverpool aren't interested currently ed?

Signed Me {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

If he is destined for Greatness why would it be a risk?

You're contradicting yourself Mate

It would be a risk as he is young and not prem experienced but he is one to watch trust me

Signed Me

EPL experience is no barrier to greatness, surely?

Messi is great he does not have EPL, do you think Messi would suffer playing in the EPL?

Your logic is faulty Mate, move on, you are only embarrassing yourself.

Really, how many goals has Messi scored on English soil? 1 he wouldn't be nearly as good in the EPL as he is in Spain. Your embarrassing yourself you Muppet. You seem to believe the Uruguayan and South America leagues are even a third of the quality or physicality of the Premier League. why don't you walk away while people with an ounce of football knowledge can talk. Also lovely to see you sign your clearly dull and nit witted comment.

Signed Me

21 Aug 2011 15:20:07
Eds, read a comment regarding Liverpool looking at
Soldado as striker option. Would be a cracking signing but the price of £10 million is way of the mark he would be double. What u think the possibilities are of the following
Soldado, c. Cole, higiuan. {Ed002's Note - Not good.}

C.Cole are you serious????????????????????

C.cole is booooossssssssssss.NOT

21 Aug 2011 14:40:12
Liverpool interested in James Tomkins?? {Ed002's Note - No.}

21 Aug 2011 14:03:10
Alberto Aquilani has said he's going to join AC Milan.

liverpool to go in with a 30 million bid for mata 2morrow as they see him as a perfect player for the right hand side

Were is the proof .stop telling lies

no chance

Whats that smell........cows.....no........pig........no........oh ye its bullshe*p

No mata what you say it won't happen no mata what
kidmillions

And lucky for Liverpool Fabregas is already feeling homesick, he is not feeling at ease in catalunya he contacted King Kenny to move to Liverpool with David Villa

Nah pretty sure he's headed to chelsea

Bored on a Sunday are we?

Chelsea are going to buy him but i wish this rumour was true :)

An X Liverpool player has had a little word with Mr Mata,and told him he would be mad to turn down Chelsea.

Why would they do that when earlier on they could have got him for 18-20 million?

The Braindead

I said we will NOT sign Mata and anyway he'd cost in excess of 30 mill.Ed002 argued that Mata will sign for Chelsea at around 24 mill.Question.Even if we had the cash [ which we don't ] why would we offer 6 mill more than Chelsea?

Aint having,and sickve hearing.even though wish was true.the ingenuious nando,been working on him for chavski

Nnd even if it is true then why don't we save maybe 15 or 20 mil and get jarvis

Will people just give it a rest with the mata crap he aint coming deal with it.
im sure the eds are sick and tired of answering the same questions day in day out,it was the same with aguero right up until he crossed the t`s and dotted the i`s on his city contract.
i for one feel sorry for the eds

Who are the 11 muppets who agreed with this post lol..

Why would we spend £30million now when we could have bought him cheaper prior to his buy-out clause lapsing? Between Abramovich fluttering his cheque book and our ex no.9 constantly phoning, he is on his way to the Chavs.

21 Aug 2011 13:35:46
Ed, please may I ask what is the situation with Adebayor?

I've heard his proposed move to Spurs isn't going as planned.

Do you think there is any chance of us coming in with a late offer, even if it were just a loan?

What would the situation be on wages as I have heard both that Man City would be willing to pay his wages and they would not pay wages.

Personally I think he would be a very VERY welcome addition.

SMC {Ed002's Note - Adebayor will not be moving to Liverpool. If the move to Spurs fails he will move abroad.}

Just asked me missus what she thought?
She thinks Liverpool have the most Handsome team in the Prem and she doesn't want Adebayor messin up the team photies. ;)
kidmillions

Would take him,wont happen

Adebayor has been a troublemaker at each club he's joined so I wouldn't want him.Anyway he'd likely demand 1st team football to sign.Finally his wages are apparently 180,000 a week so we'd likely be paying him [ say half ] 90,000 to play sub.Never gonna happen

Adebayor will end up at Anzhi Mak like Eto'o. Anybody wanna bet?

BooDaBooze

I would rather be stuck with David Ngog than have that mercenary play for our great club. Besides KK would never sign such a disruptive player. Bad egg. scarface.

liverpool are going to do all they can to bring scott dann to anfield any news on this eds

wildRED {Ed002's Note - At present I suspect that Arsenal are closer to Dann than Liverpool. It can all change of course.}

It may be that if LFC do show serious intent on Dann, he will do a Jones / Young on Arsenal, and prefer to come to us. I'd like to think so anyway.
The Real KB {Ed002's Note - So Arsenal could move for Cahill?}

Ed002, either CB would do for me. I don't know who LFC are keener on. I just like to think that Dann, as a local lad, would choose us over Arsenal. The problem is Chelsea, and to a lesser extent Spurs. I suspect Cahill may go to Chelsea, as the price would inevitably be raised and this will put off Arsenal and LFC. Then it may be all out for Dann and, in the end, his own choice could sway it.
The Real KB {Ed002's Note - I suspect you could be right about Cahill, but I do think that Dann is closer to Arsenal right now. I am sure there will be news as the week progresses.}

I thought Dann was in the Birmingham squad for the Europa game last thursday? Will Arsenal still go for him? doubt it?
As for us, I dont think we are buying any CBs?
Roy {Ed002's Note - I think you may be wrong on all three points.}

I just hope we don't get Mertesacker Ed002. I wouldn't bet on him winning a sack race.
Are there no dark horses for CB Ed ?

========================
If you say I am wrong then I must be, the first 2 were semi questions, should've researched and realized he was not included in the team, I was listening to talktalk that thursday and they said he was in the squad, did not realise they would get things wrong even in real time coverage.

Do like local lads,and,or fans.tend to think cahill better player though.either be welcome

Hi Ed,

Do you know what Cahill's preference in club is, I know it's been widely reported us or Arsenal or poss Spurs? Would make sense for him to stay in the NWest? What % would you say he could join us?

Cheers

Brownie YNWA

Superb work/site {Ed002's Note - Sorry, I don't know his preference.}

His prefference is indeed Arsenal over anyone. However if it it true that he wants to remain in the north west, then why does he need to even think of Arsenal or Spuds??, he would see more light in LFC than the two??...

His preference is 100% Liverpool FC team he has supported all his life.

8 out of 10 cats who expressed a preference said they would prefer Mata

Ed just a few questions for you hopefully you'll answer as I was away for the last 2 weeks :) ...
1. Any idea what the fee for Enrique was ?
2. Any updates on our CB problem ?
Cheers mate :)
IrishRed. {Ed002's Note - (1) I understand less than £6M initially but there are additional fees to be paid based on performance - I don't know any details of what they are. (2) Nothing new right now.}

That was some deal for Enrique then To all those people who have doubted the ability of the players KK has brought in (I was one of them people) , cheer up , because the good times are ahead Also Ed I think if we get a good solid centre back or two we could be title contenders Do you agree ?
Cheers mate :)
IrishRed. {Ed002's Note - I have said all along that I expect that Liverpool will be in the mix for the European places, and of course we cannot discount Liverpool winning the title. Personally however, I think the title may be just too much to expect at this time.}

Yes Ed I agree that we need a little more time but I don't think we are far off a challenge I love the passing game we play now Hopefully we can master it and be the English Barcelona Your thoughts Ed ?
Cheers mate :)
IrishRed. {Ed002's Note - I suspect comparisons with Barcelona are a little way off right now.}

In case we do get Cahill (fingers majorly crossed)- does he normally play on the left or right side as CB, or both?

Agger always plays left, and Carra right, so whose place would be under threat from Cahill?

Or even Mertesacker, maybe?

I believe the preferred first choice CB pairing would be Agger and Cahill should he join.

Square tomato

If i may answer that question on behalf of the Ed's, If Cahill was signed he would mostly likely occupy Agger's position, why??, because he is a left footer naturally like Daniel and they need their strong foot "outside" so that clearing becomes easy and punting the ball up as well. However he is comfy playing RCB as well as Carra does so wouldnt be worried at all..

I beleive he plays more on the right (in Carragher's position) i think he is right footed. Would certainly be an excellent pairing with Agger

Agger will defo be our starting CB.

You are definitely wrong, he is NOT left footed

Hes definenetly right footed watch his goal vs qpr

In future I suggest you don't reply on 'ed's behalf' He's right footed which makes your entire statement a complete waste of time. Get you facts straight.

Lol, thanks guys but I'm no wiser- maybe he's ambidextrous?

Anyway I'm going to believe the right-footed brigade- they seem more sure lol

If that's true, then Cahill would be vying with Carra for a place in the starting eleven, alongside Agger?

And when Agger gets injured (not if, but when), we'll still have Skrtel to step in.

We have to get Cahill- the guy is a monster defender.

I hate to say it and see it happen but an unbiased decision would be Kelly-Cahill-Agger-Enrique.

All hail Carra LEGEND

Donnypool

I still think KK will play Carra over Cahill until Carragher himself says that he is past it. I think Kenny has that sort of faith in the players and loyalty.

Ed, hope your all good. Are the M'Baye Niang rumors true? and do you know much about him? thanks wheeler92 {Ed002's Note - I don't know anything of any recent rumours I am afraid. There is nothing really to know of him. He is a youngster who folks think might do well when he is older. He had contractual issues at Caen but I don't see him leaving this summer.}

Kevin Gameiro is a Liverpool target

Anton

He joined psg this summer so dont think he will be moving to two clubs in just one month

Your an person as hes just signed for PSG

Doubt it hes only jst signd for PSG this summer JP

Correct if I am wrong but hasn't he recently joined PSG?
And I'm pretty sure he would want first team football.

Gameiro moved to PSG earlier this summer.

Mr Yellow

Lol, he just signed for PSG this summer and been playing really well for them, why on earth would he suddenly move from the new rich team in Europe??

The transfer window is almost closed so Anton is trying to be the first to post rumours for the January window

hey eds, love the site..

going back to the cahill story, the earlier post you answered that it was based on something real, and you guys seemed pretty confident, something was going to happen in your answers, etc..what has happened with the "something real" that you confidence was based on? Whats your insight/opinion on the goings on with the whole thing?

Thanks for the info you pass along...
please post in rumours {Ed002's Note - There is nothing further to report. It was a case of there having been some discussion about the player. I suspect that this week will see further discussions with possibly other clubs showing an interest as well. There is really nothing more to say right now.}

According to Gazzetta, Aquilani was quoted yesteday saying to Italian media: "Yes, I am close to join Milan".

Good bye at last. at least now we wont have so many players here for a free meal ticket. and players that appreciate wearing the shirt

ed001 any latest news mind sharing with us? (or macca too)

1. whats happening to aquilani right now? any deals happening for him?

2. any latest news on our chase for CBS's?

pls post on questions, thanks.

Kaizer {Ed002's Note - Aquilani will be joining AC Milan, Juventus, Fiorentina or Palermo this week. AC Milan seems most likely as he has been answering questions about the move and says it is now close. There is nothing knew on the CB situation.}

So Ed Aqua will join all these teams or Palermo? I think its better for him to play in one team at a time... {Ed002's Note - I guess the English language can be a bit of a struggle for some folk. The most important thing is that he will be gone. He will get his wish to leave.}

Yeah notice the commas idiot

Aquilani will be joining AC Milan this week if they can get Liverpool to accept their €9mil offer for the Italian international. Liverpool holding out for €12mil. David Ngog to complete £3mil+add ons deal to Bolton by Tuesday.
Liverpool have two deals lined up by deadline day, they are planning a deadline day deal for Scott Dann to put pressure on Birmingham to sell. A backup striker also on the agenda, with Roberto Solado a surprise target, Valencia looking for €10mil for the former real Madrid player.
Doctor Phil

Another deal being held back to the final day of the transfer window? Why? Talks hit a snag and the deal collapses due to the window closing.Why not sign them 2 days before the close for instance?

Dr. Phil can not do anything straighforward ever watch his show?

The illusionist
