Expected January transfer business
Ins
David Villa 15m
Andy Carroll loan return
Out
Jose Enrique 8m
Daniel Pacheco 2m

I can confidently predict none of those will happen and the idea that we could get 10m for those two is laughable.

David Villa will not sign, categorically stating that. it MIGHT have happened if rafa was still boss

SuperDuperSuarez

Fantasy valuations!!

Who is going to pay us 8 million for Enrique?

Andy Carroll cannot & would not come back. The loan is for 1 season and west ham paid for that. Why would he want to come back when we were prepared to cash in on him with a loan deal for sturridge?

Stop giveing enrique stick hes had few bad game so what it happens to everyone you people critisce him but least hes pro footballer unlike yous that are slagging him off and dani pacheco needs games at min hes not worth 2 million he could be if he furfilles his potential

Post of the year...

Really I's good post he's right Enrique deserves more time if we were get rid of every player that had bad game wouldint have any players left {Ed001's Note - but he has had more bad games than good, he was dross before we bought him, always missing for Newcastle in the defensive third. Now he has reverted back to that player after a quarter of a season of good play.}

I agree with Ed001, Enrique seemed to really pull out the stops when first joining Liverpool, but then realised there was no competition for a place, so he is/was guaranteed to start. Rogers obviously saw this happen and is giving Enrique a kick up the arse which is what he deserved. Reina needs a kick up the arse as well. He can't seem to defend his near post and is horrifically flappy at crosses.

Enrique is decent, but not great, Robinson already pushing him for his place, he's become complacent after just a year. Villa for 15m, you joking? Not worth more than 6-8 with his age and wage demands. He has also scored twice for Barca since his return, so I think he will stay until retirement, maybe next season.

Anfield Andy

Where are you getting your figures from {Ed063's Note - Haha my favourite was 15mil for Villa}

Who in there right mind would pay £2m for Pacheco!?
If only some club would hire Dalglish and Comolli...

liverpool are going to make a bid for isco from malaga in january if we dont get him we will get him in the summer and liverpool are also looking for a striker in january and summer i can see one coming in january and the other in the summer strong rumours up around this area is fernando llorente and david villa. We also looking to replace enrique and reina because they are not that standard anymore i havrnt got no rumours who we may bring in instead of em but im guessing it will be vorm which i think hes the best goalie in the premier and i got no clue instead of enrique but this is whats happening no joking.

Ynwa96

Dream on fella, non of those players will be joining at all

Simple non sense.....

We have one of the best goalkeepers in the world...Its just that he is off colour....

Vorm is nowhere as good as Reina and it doesnt make any sense letting one of your best players go...

Isco? Who knows with so many big clubs looking at him?

Enrique is a problem...He is too left footed if he wants to be a good player in a top club....His insistence on using only his left foot no matter where in the field is one of the main reasons for his issues.....

LiverBird

Worm has just signed a new deal at Swansea.

Not the Villa story again? This has been recycled so many times I'm sick of it. By the next window Villa will be 31 and if FSG wouldn't sanction signing Dempsey at 29 why would they agree to buy someone 2 years older who would want massive wages?

The Plank

Reina will stay. Enrique I agree just isn't good enough. Isco? Villa or Llorente villa anyday of the week

Because villa is world class and Dempsey isn't

What are LFC going to use for cash since FSG are not funding?

I think you miss the point.Regardless of how good Villa has been and I say has been because after a dreadful injury who knows what he has left in the locker? I'd be amazed at any club paying a hefty transfer fee and massive wages for a 31 year old.Oh and BTW why would a world class Villa want to join a club without Champions League football and struggling for league form?

The Plank

Villa doesn't want to leave Spain. So he won't come to Liverpool. In fact, if he decides to leave Spain and further his career, I'll be very surprised.

Hi ED002 after seeing Shelvey & sterling stepping things up i could see them both having a large price tag, especially Sterling.
I can only hope we get rid of neither but it does worry me that if the team doesn't step up before January could you see them disappearing? same goes for Suso... Agger... but the main question is about Shelvey and Sterling. Thanks mate. Don {Ed002's Note - They will not have a large price tag and neither will leave in January. I would expect to see Sterling sign a new deal around Christmas and Shelvey is around for the duration.}

No chance Shelvey and Sterling our Liverpool future

Since Shelvey has just signed an extended contract I'd assume he's happy here. From your line of reasoning we're ready to sell most of the 1st team squad which I totally do not believe.These players are youngsters with a big future and they'll stay at Anfield.

The Plank

Shelvey signed a new contract in the summer so we're all good there. and i don't think hes the kind of person to get his head turned away, he is playing and see's LFC as his club for the long haul

@Ed002...why are you so sure that players with little premier league experience can not command decent transfer fees? Joe allen 15m? Andy Carol 35m?

no? {Ed002's Note - You think Andy Carroll is a good example?}

What about the rumours that Liverpool is interested in Robert Lewandowski. I think he's what Pool needs!

Not happening.

Dont think it's happening but he we would be a great addition.

Do you think that Liverpool isn't interested, or ist he too expensive? I think Dortmund knows that they dont have a chance too hold him but I think that Liverpool would be a better club for him than ManU an we need a striker like him!

David Villa

Is there any interest in the massive BSC Young Boys forward Raul Bobadilla? I thought he gave Enrique and Carragher loads of trouble & could be a cheap attacking alternative? {Ed001's Note - er no, nowhere near the quality required.}

It's more about his vision. He may not have the best strike but his vision of distributing the ball is good. I believe we have more than enough good players with good vision, we need finisher, someone who can score goals for fun.

You are taking the piss mate my grandad would of ripped them two apart carra is slower than me and I am 54 as for enrique I have seen better left backs in amature football

If you want to buy a 2nd rater then by all means go out and buy Bobadilla.There is a reason he's playing for Young Boys and not a top club.Can you guess what that reason is? Easy there are much better players around than him!

The Plank

Shame, I have song ready for ..... Bob the billa .. Etc..
REDditch

You could have put mr. Bean up there and Enrique and Carra would have struggled they way they were playing.

I could give enrique and Carra trouble so wouldnt exactly benchmark a good striker against that performance!

Hi Eds,great site, can you please tell me the current position with Joe Cole, is he available for selection, also is Doni still at the club. {Ed001's Note - he is currently injured and Doni is still registered to us.}

He is just coming back from injury. Bench for utd game

Downing looks as if his day is done at Anfield. Liverpool looking at moving him on in January. Villa and Fulham interested at £7m

It wont be happening, he'll be with us till summer at least. Don

Did anyone else notice that he failed with his first eight attempts to find a team mate last night , I don't think I have ever seen that from a Liverpool player before , though I have only been following LFC for 51 years .

What must Rodgers think of him ?

But he succeed in creating an Own Goal. Not saying that he is good, it's more like, "WTF is he doing? Cross into the box when it's filled with Young Boys defender."

If that's the case, villa can have him for £7mill but fulham can have him for £10mill.

"If that's the case, villa can have him for £7mill but fulham can have him for £10mill."

I second this. I'd be done doing business with Fulham for quite a while if I was Liverpool.

~Fresh

Can't see it to be honest. 7m 13m pound loss

I'd say more close to £9m

7m - bit steep? I'd pay them 5m and no more for him to go!

Was reading a bbc article about the MLS season ending and free transfers, made me wonder if there are any notable forwards potentially on free transfer that our American overlords may have arranged.
Just a thought, I really don't know much about US football but as we were out there in the summer maybe something was agreed. Stranger things have happened!

Regards
The conspiracy theorist sat on the grassy knowle {Ed002's Note - They could not move to England before January and I very much doubt Liverpool will be getting any free transfers from the MLS.}

I'm sorry for being blunt.

MLS is considered a retirement ground for European professional footballers (Top players would love to play in Europe). If a player is not needed at MLS (that explained the free transfer), why should we sign them?

Unless we can get some quality player loan from MLS. Otherwise, I don't think any reinforcement from MLS is feasible.

The contract cycle is strange in the MLS. Highly coveted players can often leave on free transfers due to league ownership of the player - its quite common actually. The quality of MLS has risen drastically in the last few years. Teams like Sporting KC would make the knockout rounds of Europa. Emerging talents like Shea, Bunbury, and Nagbe would be welcome additions to the prem in my opinion. Very atheltic and loads of potential.
