Rumour of LFC potentially being interested in Zaha. Any mileage in this or is it lazy journalism. Second question, would any fans want him on the books?

Believable1 Unbelievable11

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any intention of Liverpool to look to Zaha as the Salah replacement.}

22 Apr 2019 12:29:07
Ed002. Do you think (a) Salah wants to go if juve or real come in for him and (b) would Liverpool sell.

I know what you have said in the past and it looks like Madrid have moved to hazard and possibly neymar which is great for us. Would real be the only club he would leave us for or are juve a possibility also.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There have been repeated attempts to organise a move to Real Madrid or Juventus - I have no doubt that Madrid would be his preferred destination but they have made themselves a complete laughing stock with their demands. There is nothing whatsoever linking Hazard and Salah - and Real Madrid has another RW target. Even though his agent lowered the demands and spoke to Real Madrid again there is another reason making the move there very unlikely.}

Salah replacement did not think Salah needed replacing,
Even if Salah is looking to leave which is not good if he
Is we would need a better quality replacement than zaha .

Madrid / Barca, I get why players want to move there, Juve not so much, is Juve really that much of an attractive move from Liverpool especially at the moment. I know they’ve won their league like 7 times in a row but that just proves it’s not the most competitive league in the world.

Cheers ed002. I know hazard and Salah play different positions I meant to say priority seems to be hazard. I'm sure Chelsea won't let him go cheaply and rightly so he is a smashing player. Just goes to show he can say he loves the premier League and club all he wants but means nothing really. We will move on without him like we have when so many other players have left. Would love to see him stay tho. Ed 002 thanks for the reply.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is entirely unrelated to Hazard.}

22 Apr 2019 13:13:52
May I ask the other reason?

{Ed002's Note - Best not to.}

Ed2, lost count - how long is it since the last Salah to Madrid question this time? 😅.

Ed02, apart from salah’s agent trying to get a move do you know if Salah is happy at Liverpool?

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea if he is happy per se, but he wants to play for another side.}

22 Apr 2019 14:31:50
Thankyou for the reply, hope you’re enjoying the bank holiday.

I hope he doesn’t leave .

Agree6 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I doubt he will.}

22 Apr 2019 14:36:19
I hope he doesn't leave, but if he does, we should target Dembele or Sane. Luckily, Sane seems unhappy at City though they may not want to sell to us.
Outside those two, Pepe is the only winger whose name seems to be getting traction and he won't be moving to Liverpool.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Apr 2019 14:37:04
Why does he want to play for another side? can't be entirely happy then?

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It has been his desire to play for Real Madrid. There has been no secret.}

22 Apr 2019 15:02:50
Think we are in a much more stable position if Salah mane were to leave it won’t be like when Suarez left the team is much more rounded now

Not surprised by Salah really, there appear to be many players who view Real and Barcelona as the pinnacle of football. There is a long list of players who have left successful English sides when the big 2 in Spain come calling.
As Edo2 has said in the past, these players are transient employees who come and go, it is all part of modern football.

When you look at Madrids squad they appear to have bale, asensio, benzema, vazquez, James and isco. I can't see all of these leaving. Salah surely knows how good he has it at Liverpool. The team he plays in, the upward trajectory of the squad in aiming for numerous trophies and his contract must be satisfactory at the least. Why would you throw that away to join a team that doesn't play like a team, that has a manager who had to be convinced by the chairman to return to a job he left and play with a team that will take at least another 12 months to challenge for top honours again. I just can't see it, but then I do have red tinted glasses on.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - You are rather missing the point that he wants to play for Real Madrid hence his agent bothering them about him. You probably need to read up on what is happening at Real Madrid with many of those players being available.}

Ed002

I appreciate you may not be able to answer this at all but if salah were to go to madrid what do you think the transfer fee would most likely be?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I can’t tell you what the “most likely” fee would be.}

Must be the first time in many a year that I can remember that any player we lose would not be a problem. I say that for two reasons.1 if any of our so called A list players were to leave we would command a colossal transfer fee which I’m sure Klopp would spend wisely. And secondly we have Klopp. Any manager who can keep up with Man City’s squad re their wealth is nothing short of brilliant. Now losing Klopp I think that would be a problem.

The players have it so good for themselves right now, adored by the fans and they all work so hard for each other in a system that suits them.

Hi Ed002. Thanks for the insight. Would Liverpool be open to Sell?

If Salah wants Real Madrid, I can understand that. But if his wish is to play for Real Madrid, why is Salah's agent trying to garner interest from Juve? Serie A is an uncompetitive league and if Juve is not a club Salah has dreamed of playing for then I can only put it down to money. plain and simple. Unless anyone can suggest another reason why Juve would appeal?

Hope I don't get shot for this, but I'd prefer to lose Salah over Mane or Bobby. I think if you put any decent player in the front 3, they will get chances and therefore goals. Salah has been great for us of course, but if he wants to go, then so be it. Part of me would have liked to see us cash in on him at the end of last season, imagine the fee back then? That all said, who do you replace him with? And, would a top player also see us as a stepping stone to Spain? Think of the best players who have left for Spain: Xabi, Masch, Suarez, Couts. Tongue in cheek you could throw Owen in also. If we win the league or the CL, surely we're closer to being in that bracket of clubs that players want to come to?

I think we are all well aware that nowadays, football is a business. So, everyone's for sale at the right price. The only thing I ask for is for these players to be respectful of the club and fans. Do it right, and you'll leave with dignity. Do it wrongly, and you'll regret it.

BUT. I hope the good players we have will want to stay a bit longer and enjoy a bit more success with the club before they move on. We're in a good situation now and I hope they'd want to be a part of that.

Salah is the key for current tactics. with his incredible pace he creates much room for the others.
But I don't think he is irreplaceable, he is fast but his decision is not top class. If he leaves, we just look for quality replacement such as Insigne, he may not be that fast but I think the composure and decision making aspect could be improved.

I'm sure it wouldn't be end of the world bad, but imo losing any of salah, mane or firmino will take some adjusting for. they are symbiotic to how we function. It'd be like losing a leg. not the death of ya but would take some adjusting and a prosthetic would just never quote be the samr.

We’re actually quite lucky Hazard appears destined for Madrid at the end of the season. Connecting the dots between Madrid’s desire for drastic change (new star players) and Zizu’s admiration for Mane (not Salah), I’d say we dodge a bullet and our rivals lose a key player.

It’ll be up to the player but with ALL players, especially one which relies on explosive acceleration, there is an optimum time to sell. 👍.

So what if Salah wants to play for RM. is he a local lad all of a sudden. most players in world would want to play for RM. it's not a snub to liverpool.

I support Liverpool Football Club not individual players. I will back to the hilt every player who pulls on the red shirt but once they leave, that ends. The manner of their leaving will determine how I feel about them but generally I have no hard feelings towards them and usually wish them well. To me (and most Liverpool supporters I guess) ours is THE best club in the World but I am not completely daft and I recognise that for some players there are other clubs they want to play for, for all kinds of reasons. Barcelona and Real Madrid are amongst those clubs and if Salah or anyone else gets himself a move to one of those clubs, let’s get top dollar for him/ them and buy/ develop the next Liverpool superstar.

Spot on, WW. If Salah wants to leave at all costs then, he can leave. I stopped being arsed about these types of things since the whole Torres to Chelsea saga. As long as we stick RM for every last penny on the fee then I'm good.

why o why is that if Liverpool were to buy a top forward, its cos he would replace Salah,
sell or let go of players like sturridge, origi, Lallana, and bring in one top attacking player, and, yes, Keep Salah, we want to keep all our best players, so please stop saying, if Salah goes .
