Liverpool forward Milan Jovanovic has been handed the chance to maintain his current £60,000-a-week earnings after receiving an offer from Al-Shabab Riyadh.

I hope he goes quickly. Awful player

Just seen on my Facebook (I know it'll sound silly but hear me out) someone i know said they were sitting next to Aquilani in an italian restaurant (Didnt mention which one). So in my opinion if thats true i doubt the guy would be out and about eating in restaurants where supporters will be at him asking if he's leaving, looks like the Fiorentina move may not be true after all ? I know it was a silly type of source but hopefully you'll get what i mean....

Has just sat next to alberto aquilani in an italian restaurant :D

Hi eds just seen on ssn that dace whelan says there are 2 more clubs interested in nzogbia...are we one of them? Cheers {Ed009's Note - I do not think so.}

Liverpool are eyeing Porto defender Alvaro Pereira as a solution to their left-back problem.

The Anfield club's search for a left back has so far proved fruitless.

Liverpool chief Damien Comolli has now turned to Pereira, who is teammates with Luis Suarez in the Uruguay national team.

Pereira, 25, has a buy-out clause of £18 million in his Porto contract.
SOURCE: Tribalfootball

Liverpool are interested in £10m-rated Hamburg left-back Marcell Jansen and £18m-rated Porto defender Alvaro Pereira.

SOURCE- Daily Mail

Also just wish that LFC would release a statement about Gerrard and his groin problem.To many rumours flying around about it and could get out of hand if not careful.

Ed i am surprised that liverpool never made a move for deigo capel who today agreed to join sporting for 3.5euros which is liturally a bargain do you know if we had any interest in him. He would have been an excellent signing {Ed009's Note - Clearly not.}

22 Jul 2011 21:36:04
Heard a good few weeks ago that Stevie G could be finished because of the groin, hence the purchasing of what seemed to be an excess of midfielders over perceived requirements elsewhere. Hoped it was untrue, but with him not going on the tour and and having no part tomorrow either, well times running short....... {Ed002's Note - I know I have harped on about this for a while, but for me Moussa Sissoko remains a great option. Liverpool had shown very serious interest and Comolli remains very keen. Toulouse will sell, there is no doubt of that.}
------------------------------------------
Ed, do you know if we are talking to Toulouse about Sissoko mate? Thanks...

Was told earlier 2day off a City fan that Johnson will be a LFC player b4 start of the season even if they dnt sign another winger. Spurs may also come in for him but he will opt for us.

Hey ed's, i might just be getting really paranoid here but are the rumours regarding suarez to barca true? thanks

Stevie K {Ed009's Note - No. They may be arrogant as hell but there is no way they could afford El Pistolero.}

Hi EDs
Heard a rumour of a pretty reliable source (usually gets 70-80% right) about some dealings with Man City.....
First being Adam Johnson, which as I think everybody now knows it all depends on City buying another Midfielder. My source reckons the fee will be around £16million plus rising to £20million & this has already been sorted, a sort of first refusal/gentlemans agreement if you will.
Secondly James Millner, now I'm not a fan but aparently KK & DC are any there was an enquiry but nothing more & not as much as there is in Johnson.
3 other players have been muted as possible loan signings, Wayne Bridge, Roque Santa Cruz & Emanuel Adebayor, now Bridge is seen as a stop gap for a season at left back until we can either develop one of our youngsters into the position or in hope we can qualify for the following season CL & recruit a top class left back. The Santa Cruz & Adebayor loans are also a stop gap & really just to bring in quality back up for Carroll & Suarez as there are worries over Carrolls fitness & Suarez burnout after the Copa America, apparently the club see one of these as viable & quality options for the coming season (also a very slim chance of both of them if N'gog moves on & no right winger is bought as Kuyt may possibly remain there). The club did want Benzema from Real Madrid but they prefer to sell & the price of £20million was not fancied, but that is not dead, if Real don't find a buyer then they will entertain a loan putting us back in with a chance. Aguero....well sorry I really can't see this happening due to one reason....WAGES....the fee is fine but they will not match his £150,000+ a week wage demands seeing as Gerrard is top earner on £120,000...they do have a belief at FSG that the captain should be highest earner & rightly so in Gerrards case. Can't see a centre back coming in unless Birmingham Drop their £12million valuation of Dann, maybe somewhere around £7-8million might see him a red next year, but £12million for a defender in a relegated side is far too much. I honestly Don't think we will make any more big money signings apart from Johnson & Dann if they can even be called that in todays inflated market as FSG will like to save some money for January & re-asses then.

Q for macca if possible,

Any news on gerrards injury? Some people say its one that he cannot shake off and will consistenly restrict him to 15-20 games a season.

Any accuracy in this?

Mr E

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I hope i am wrong with my info this time but i believe the injury is not healing like the club had hoped and the groin is not responding to the injections being given...

Really hope i am wrong...

Cheers

ed, do you know why we are not trying to sign jeffran suarez, if bolton can bid 5 mill for the player then surely we could.... {Ed002's Note - LIverpool cannot bid for every player that comes up for sale. Targets will have been identified and efforts made to get those targets. Wickham was a target that got away no doubt, but generally the club seem to have been very successful.}

22 Jul 2011 20:13:20
hi beautiful ed002 just i want to know why we can't release the fringe players if we will not find the buyers, what is the negative of the release and one more question do you think we will buy some player in these 2 weeks
thank you for your great job {Ed002's Note - It is all to do with money. The club will be trying to figure out how to best deal with moving the fringe players on. Options (in order of preference) are:

(a) Sell them (e.g. Mavinga);
(b) Let them leave on a free (e.g Jovanovic) - it means paying up any outstanding signing on fee and bonuses if applicaple;
(c) Agree to release them from their contract for a negotiated settlement figure - perhaps all of any outstanding signing on fee and bonuses but half of the wages that would be due for the remainder of the contract;
(d) Release them from their contract - paying up all outstanding signing on fees, bonuses and wages that would be due for the remainder of the contract.

Obviously some players do not have signing on fees or bonuses due.}

Personally as much as i admire him as a player, i belive Aqualani and his Agent are playing us like a f***in fiddle. Like someone said another year of his contract gone while on full wages that he wouldn't get if he was signed by Fiorentina on a perm one. End of season same thing will happen. Fiorentina saying they want him but cheaper then what was agreed, we say no. Albert come's back, play's well in pre season games again then sulk. We'll then negotiate with another club who wont give him his full wack of cash, so we'll end up loaning him again and so on and so forth till we get next to nothing for him. while he gets his full wack of coin a week. I had a bit of time for him but its clear he's taking the piss now. He signed a 5 year deal for around 80k i belive. These shenanigans are just a pure calculated piss take. I hope Raul M stays, a player who i've always said we should keep but Aqua plays well against piss poor opposition and he's the best again. Raul M we need you mate not a heartless.guttless, piss taking Whop.Jonson6

Great job as always Ed's, just a quick question with all this advertising you must me getting a decent amount for it, I was wondering to get more recognised I would love to see your rumor's site advertised on some of the lower leagues jerseys, Facebook sell advertising space because of the amount of users that's how they make money, you never know could be a sound investment with posters from all over the world, just a thought.
INDIANred. {Ed002's Note - The advertising may just about cover the site maintenance costs. It certainly does not make a profit of note.}

22 Jul 2011 19:47:12
hi Ed, you keep mentioning that the club is now concentrating on moving the fringe players. i thought finding new clubs for the players was more of a agents role. are there any good offers for these players and negotiations happening? all i here is aquilani jovanovic and ngog.. we have the likes of poulsen, degen, el zhar who are definitely harder to sell. any news on them?

Harsha {Ed002's Note - There is no news on them but the club will beciding on which players will be hopefully moving on. Their agents will be asked to assist in finding new clubs for their charges. I would expect that Liverpool will assess each player to figure out if they can be sold or the cost of otherwise moving them on or releasing them.}

22 Jul 2011 19:28:58
Lfc without a doubt need to clear deadwoods. be4 signing other players.

Ed, do u think KK or DC waiting for Man.City latest spending for lavezzi/another winger? So that we can make bid for either Milner or Adam Johnson?

Drg'lfc {Ed002's Note - NO, I suspect they are in the midst of figuring out which fringe players they can move on.}

22 Jul 2011 19:18:28
Ed can you confirm if Degan's contract has now expired?

If so doesn't this mean that that's one off the wage bill for starters? {Ed002's Note - Nope, Degen's contract still has one year to run.}

22 Jul 2011 18:49:11
it bothers me that downing and Henderson are both worth 20 mil...and alexis sanchez is bought for 23 mil.....i don't even want to talk about carroll. {Ed002's Note - That is only the initial payment on Sanchez - once the performance related payments kick in it will eventual get to about 40M euro.}

22 Jul 2011 17:57:22
Ed002 re Aquilani:

I wouldn't even go for the sarcastic apathetic approach mate, just not worth it People are only disagreeing with you in hope, not expectation. You have proved yourself correct multiple times, concerning Liverpool matters and other teams/players.

Please keep those informed who want to be made aware of the likely scenarios.

Top job to all ed's,

Jos

First time posting, been reading this site for a year now, and Liverpool fan since 2005 (Not many of us here in Oklahoma, I usually have to watch the games streaming from my computer because we only have one channel that plays soccer games. Half the time it is Italian soccer and it makes me want to rip my eyes out or fall asleep..)This is more of a question to the editors and a statement than a rumor, but here we go.

With the pieces we have added in Downing, Adam, and Hendo, I feel like we have made decent improvements. I believe our goal should be 4th which is what we need to fund the club properly and attract the kind of players needed to compete with United and Chelsea for the whole season and not just our individual fixtures against them. Our main competition for that 4th spot next year will be with Tottenham and Arsenal... Spurs- adding only USA's 90's soccer star Brad Freidel and probably losing their best player in Modric. Arsenal lost Clichy and will probably lose Fabergas and Nasri, and only signed Gervinho, who I doubt is better that RVP or Chamack. I could see Sunderland making a strong push next year and they will have a strong squad, adding Sebastian Larsson (someone I thought we should have signed)... as well as a few others. My point is that we currently have the 4th strongest team talent wise in the EPL. If the season started tomorrow we should be able to get 4th. I know we all dream of making several more moves and having a completely different looking lineup full of talent from abroad, but something has to be said for team morale and chemistry. At the end of the year we looked great even missing Gerrard. Our team is not broken, why fix it. My question to the editors is can we afford the wage bill the way it is now or do we have to get rid of the dead wood just to survive? nevermind bringing in new players. Yeah, I think Jovanovic and Poulson need to go, but everyone else that keeps being mentioned on the page could still make an impact. If we need some more help to push for 4th we always have January, and NESV showed they know how to get deals done quick when they need to. Some posters on here seem disappointed that we are not getting the likes of Higuin or Benzema. Keep your head up If we were Arsenal we would be looking at losing the equivalent of Gerrard, Suarez and Glen Johnson YNWA {Ed002's Note - I have to say I guess you are the first Okie to post. The only thing I would say is that the window is still open for 6 weeks and I think a lot will change. But welcome.}

22 Jul 2011 17:28:08
Aquilani not given a squad number...pretty clear he isn't staying...pity as always thought he showed glimpses but never really got the chance and clearly if he doesn't want to stay which seems the main reason he's leaving he doesn't really have the bottle if he's giving up that easy I Say good riddance we want players who WANT to play/die for club ;-D

Also surprised at Agueros bettin pattern last night going from 16/1 to join lpool into 7/1 and then into 3/1...still see this as very unlikely although would be very nice...don't think we could afford his wages though plus would he fit into the system...Altho a front trio of Aguero Carroll and Suarez would be pretty mouth watering still very much doubt we have any chance

dalglish has done all his spending in the transfer market.

22 Jul 2011 17:20:48
Sorry Ed002, for replying to the dublin ignoranous who stated you get paid for doing this so answer every w**k question put to you. Is the guy sleep typing and dreaming or something, unless i'm mistaken you all give up your spare time to answer the posts, i'm suprised you gave the poster any air time at all but your the editor, your choice. The worst post i've ever read, cheeky t**t, i've always got an opinion on things, sometimes a bit over zealous, but think its one mighty tough job all you guys /gals do. Like you said the porter hasn't' gone any idea. Jonson6 {Ed002's Note - As the poster said, it shows I have guts. I have decided to check my muscles in the mirror and go off to the pub for a couple of hours to talk with the other macho men. We'll hang out and talk about guy stuff like chicks, monster truck racing, hair gel - you know how it is.}

22 Jul 2011 17:08:43
Pedro Leon on a season long loan is a serious option as KK wants another winger and has been knocked back in any attempt to sign Adam Johnson. Leon is open to a loan move as he does not want to leave Madrid permanently.
The Poacher {Ed002's Note - Don't hold your breath. He should be confirmed soon as a Gatafe player for next season.}

22 Jul 2011 16:40:10
It seems that Cerci from Fiorentina is going to Man City.Maybe know Johnson could be available?

22 Jul 2011 16:31:29
Just read that roma and barcelona have agreed a 10.6 mil deal for Bojan. Fine, good for them but barca have inserted a clause in the contract which would allow them to buy back the player at the end of the season.
Wth, they are trying the same with every other player they are selling including Jeffren?
This is the reason why KK has decided not to go for him (that's what i have heard)
What do you think ed?

Aquilani Close to Fiorentina Deal

Posted on 22. Jul, 2011 by Liam Tomkins in Rumours

Reports emerging from Italy suggest Liverpool midfiedler Alberto Aquilani is close to a loan move to Fiorentina, with La Viola being given the option to purchase the player for £10m at the end of the season.

Speculation regarding Aquilani’s future has been rife ever since he returned from a loan spell at Juventus, where he was expected to move to on a permanent basis this summer. But with that move failing to materialise a number of other Serie A clubs have expressed an interest in the player, with Fiorentina particularly keen on acquiring his services.

Corriere Fiorentino is reporting that a loan deal for the player could be imminent, with a £10m first refusal option when the curtain comes down on the 2011/12 campaign. Liverpool fans would prefer to keep hold of Aquilani or sell him once and for good, but Kenny Dalglish’s priority is believed to be lightening the wage load in order to make room for further signings.

If aqua goes to Italy on loan, do we pay his wages still or what happens? Does it make any difference to our wage bill?

Strong reports in Italy that Aquaman's transfer is only a season long loan and that Liverpool will pay part of his wages. Will complete next week.

ed, any truth that we have made a 10 million bid for Marcell Jansen? Aint seen much of him but from what i have he is good going forward but a little suspect at the other end. {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any bid having been made yet.}

Ed, thank you for all the time you put into the site and I do appreciate any info that you do give us. I hope you put this up because my source is close to the team on the other side of this deal. Liverpool are looking to bring in Real Madrid winger Pedro Le n.

I think KK is going to keep N'gog and disappoint a lot on here by not making another ST signing. I feel Kuyt is viewed as adequate cover for Carroll and Suarez.

Having already signed left winger Stewart Downing, KK will look to add depth on the right wing with Le n. I heard it could be a season loan deal. I also think that Adam Johnson could become a serious option if City close the Lavezzi deal soon, which i'm hearing is going to happen..

Liverpool will sign Marco Bueno on a five year deal for 600k plus add ons

22 Jul 2011 13:54:21
Ed, is it true that M'baye Niang from Caen can leave on a free due to there being something wrong with his contract. If so it would be a great signing as he is only sixteen and is already good enough to play a part in the first team. {Ed002's Note - There is a dispute over his contract but as you say being only 16 it is not a professional
contract in any case. I do not see him in Liverpool's first team just yet though.}

Ed009.

Are there any realistic left-backs that are defensively good that Liverpool could transfer?

Most of the ones linked at the moment only seem to be at their best going forward.

Thanks

Stu. {Ed009's Note - Cissokho and Baines are very good defensively, although neither seems like at this time. There is a chance that we won't sign a left back, and a chance that we could still sign Enrique, who isn't bad in defense. I think that Robinson could ably step up next season if needs be, at least until January.}

22 Jul 2011 13:00:20
Hi ed, do you know of any interest in Papiss Cisse? he says he wants a move to the prem and I would have thought is the kind of player that could play with Carroll or Suarez.

Kop chris {Ed009's Note - Sorry, I don't.}

22 Jul 2011 11:57:08
Hi eds, just read that Liverpool are interested in Marcell Jansen?

Any truth in this?

LONDONRED {Ed009's Note - It is a viable transfer, but I do not know of any interest at this time. He would be affordable, but I believe Kenny values defensive ability above anything else in defence, and this is not Jansen's forte.}

22 Jul 2011 10:32:01
Heard we haven't bid for Alvaro Pereira yet may have interest but no bid has been made 100%
Still Enrique is Kenny's choice and don't keep your hopes up for Alvaro, may be a chance but very slim
Expect a bid for a British CF with Shane Long my "GUESS" as back up

Liverpool have today announced Graham Bartlett as the new commercial director, taking up Ian Ayre's old role. This appointment is as crucial to Liverpool's future as all the players requested and wanted on these message boards.

With his experience, if he can help to significantly increase our revenue streams, we will be able to challenge the oligarchs, sheikhs and other big clubs with the FFP rules coming in over the next few years.

Rumours in Germany say LFC may come in for Marco Marin (and would get him)
Cahill now favorite ahead of Dann (arsenal +manc clubs not going to bid for him).The LB spot is anyones guess.

22 Jul 2011 09:39:54
Liverpool are again looking at Germany left back Marcell Jansen of Hamburg and Porto's Alvaro Pereira.

The Anfield club's search for a left back has so far proved fruitless.

The 6ft 3in Jansen is valued at £10m while Uruguay defender Pereira, 25, has a buy-out clause of £18m.

Any more news on an improved offer for baines {Ed009's Note - I have no reason to believe there was even an initial offer.}

22 Jul 2011 09:19:01
Ed, do u know if any players are close to joining Liverpool? How close? Cheers {Ed009's Note - At this time there is no more than interest in any player as far as I know. Bueno will probably sign if his trial is a success. We are looking to shift players before bringing any more in.}

22 Jul 2011 08:51:56
Despite the deal for aqua stalling I know that both palermo and napoli are interested but any bid from them would hinge on either pastore or hamsik leaving (I believe hamsik will go to milan) so if the fiorentina deal falls through he could still be sold.

Morning all, I have just heard on talksport that the Adel Taarabt move to PSG has fallen through. I really hope this doesn't mean we will renew our interest in the player as I don't believe he is anywhere near good enough nor do I think he has the right attitude.

Morning ed, What about Jovanovic. Some reports sayin he rejected Anderchelt. Got any info about that and when he's probably leaving if the deal is still on {Ed002's Note - There are several clubs interested, I recall he said four, and talks are planned with Lille.}

Hi Eds

I was at my local pub (last night)and heard some guys talking about Adriano Correia been looked at by KK & DC. Do you know/heard anything baout this? I think he would be a good signing for us, he's cheap and only 26yo.

pls post

Hi ed. Who do u think we are most likely to sign as a centre back, and if we do, do you think agger or kyriagkos will be sold? Cheers {Ed009's Note - I think Dann is certainly the most likely centre back in my mind. Kyriagkos would certainly be sold if a buyer could be found - he was only given a new contract as an obligation - but I doubt one will be. He could well remain this year and then leave on a free. As far as I know Agger will stay.}
