wat about jermaine lens anyone in for him {Ed029's Note - He seems quite happy at PSV.

Hè is s**t anyway! Nowhere near the LFC level!

Lol...

When I first read this I thought it was Jens Layman (sp?). I was like really.
Sorry, my bad!
Lol..jens layman

JJ

eds, just how close did we come to signing mario gomez and why did it not go thru {Ed029's Note - As far as I know we submitted a bid for Gomez, which was rejected by Bayern Munich

You ask this ages later when he starts playin good?

Hi

I remember not to long ago(Think it was just around when Hodgson was appointet).
Gomez wasn't getting much playing time at Bayern, and there where rumours around that we had made a bid. But as far as I can remember the rumours said, we had only made a loan offer. I think I recall that Bayern could be persuaded to sell at the right price, back then, but as we all know, we didn't have the finances.

Sigetty-DK

Pretty sure we put in a £35m bid which was rejected last January, and then moved on to Andy Carroll.

just wondering is this serious interest about liverpool chasing after James Rodriguez or media bs...hope its true! Would be a super player.
tomboy {Ed029's Note - Real Madrid and Manu are the favourites to sign him, not heard any rumours about Liverpool.

Liverpool wont sign him, stop listening to facebook rubbish

22 Jun 2012 20:45:11
Everyone that keeps asking about interest of James Rodriguez talksh*te have said were interested in him {Ed022's Note - Well I can confirm that TalkSh*te are exactly how they sound - full of sh*te. James Rodriguez is a fine winger who would cost over 40 million pounds at the minimum, and there is no chance of him joining Liverpool now, this january or even next summer I doubt. Simple as that.}

Over 40 million, are you serious. I'm not a Hazard fan, but he only cost £32 mil mate and is a far more proven player.

Papa G

Your way of the mark ed at most he would cost 25 million,40 million would buy you 1 of the best players in the world and he is not at this moment he has the potential to be very good,marky

To the above poster, no mate i think your way off the mark and dont have a clue what your talking about for 40 mill one of the best players in the world? yeah ok.. alright lets go buy messi for 60 mill then.. be real fella

To the post above players like cavani, hamsik and lucas moura are the best players in the world their prices would be about 40m or less.

40 million lmao! Get real eds! Talking s**te again! {Ed005's Note - 40m Euros, which is about £32m. Considering he is a massive prospect and rated extremly highly at Porto they require his release clause to be activated before he leaves which is said to be £32m. What is so brown about that? FCP have a right to ask what they want for their players and they maintain that's what he'll cost. If we're talking the brown stuff "again" why post here or read the pages kiddo? Move on.}

Calm down lads he said 40 million because thats his release clause! fools! great work ed's!

Well, whats brown about that is in the original post it says 40 millions Pounds at a minimum not 40 million euro's.
40 million pounds is around 48million euros. {Ed005's Note - Well obviously a mistake then mate, I was just sticking up for the other editor as some fella came in with silly abuse when logic tells us that Porto will ask for rediculous money for him as they do for all their key players.}

{Ed022's note - Just to clarify, his release clause is 40 million Euro's which equates to be just under 40 million pounds. I didn't realise you all had to be so damn pedantic and so disrespectful. If you wish to act like drones and bombard us editors with stupid-ass questions just because TalkSh*te have said it then that's your choice, but don't get all moody with us if we tell you the truth, otherwise I won't bother doing so. Simple as that.}

1st post for me, love the site! Eds, saw someone mention borrussia munchen gladbach recently and 1 of the Eds said there were no players we would b looking at. Well I'm watching Germany v Greece n the lad reus looks v good! 21 goals last season, plays up and wide, anyone seen or heard of him before? Eds what u reckon? {Ed029's Note - He looks a good player and can play on both wings and up front but he won't be cheap.

Already has been signed by Dortmund! Will play for them nxt season!

Lol i knew it wouldnt be long before the germans started getting a mention on here tonight.
Red lee

Has reus not already signed a contract to join dortmund next season? {Ed029's Note - Yes, my mistake.

Sad part is that he has been sold to dortmund for only 14 million pounds!

He has already agreed to join Dortmund

GuvTOB

Dissapointing, as we had first hand viewing of him in 2010 when we played gladbach in a friendly, and he shone, he was best player on the pitch.

Don't like to predict the future, but if Skrtel were to leave for City for the rumoured £20m, the replacement has to be top drawer, a 1st choice starter. The best option I think would be Diego Godin.
He knows Suarez & Coates well, a good age of 26, about 50 caps for Uruguay, and we need someone established as we have many young CB's. Godin & Agger would be immense. Athletico are not in the CL, they spent about £6m to buy him 2 years ago, but they need money to fund the expensive Falcao signing, and I reckon £12m-£15m could do the trick.
I don't like to talk as if one of our players has gone, Skrtel is a fantastic player, but there has to be a plan in place if it were to go. I can't think of many better CB options around now. Kjaer not good enough, Godin for me.

RedChris {Ed029's Note - Godin is a good centre back but another possible replacement is Lovren who looks a good player.

We were linked with Godin last summer too if my memory serves me right. Looks a very good player

RedSG

Ed I've been saying we should look at Lovren for at least 13 months I think he would be a great addition

Chris in Tamworth {Ed029's Note - he'd be my choice for a new centre back.

How about jan vertonghen {Ed029's Note - almost certain to join Tottenham

What you chatting? Kjaer would be perfect for Liverpool.

Interesting to hear MARTIN SKRTEL quotes
that LFC need to match his ambition
before he signs any new contract..........
get the impression he's on his way
closely followed by SUAREZ, REINA etc
FSG better get their tin hats on,the fans
will not like this BIGTIME.....YANKS OUT.

Yeah let's get shut of the Yanks and do a Glasgow Rangers eh boys! Let's sell every decent player we've got while we're at it.How the hell do you know who is available for sale? And on a side bar why is it assumed that even if we are prepared to let Skrtel go we would sell him for the peanuts sum of £20 million?

And im sure if he does go the manager does have a plan in order thats his job buddy

Would we want more south americans in our squad when things like the copa america world cup qualifiers we could be left a lil light thanks all

mal.

Talk about shared stadium is garbage , never ever ever gonna happen , anfield to be redeveloped , announcement imminent .
Tellitasitis

Think it would suit everton more than us

Redeveloping Anfield is the only way the club can move forward on this. Current outlined costsvfor a new stadium have been quashed and work on Anfield is o start in the next 12 months

22 Jun 2012 19:47:54
ED, any chance of us buying ________ , he looks a great player! (please fill in the space with whoever scores the first goal)

MR EM

{Ed005's Note - Looking pretty good at the moment. Expect to hear news in the next week. I reckon he'll be a brilliant signing and the fans will love him.}

If it's Samaras....then no thanks.

Not really he fires blanks

He's already signed for somebody else. That's another one we've been linked with and missed out on...moan moan ...blah blah blah !!

Ed... is it true we put a bid in for Philip Lahm but QPR have out bid us, and we have missed out on another signing? {Ed022's Note - Yes it's true.}

Bayern wont sell, but id love to see him at liverpool jose enriques s**t :-)

Looking forward to seeing phillip lahm in a red shirt

Any interest in khedira or samaras

Now that would be a great signing... The first goal scorer was Lahm
Coyr

Jose enrique is not s**t. He was one of our best players last season and outshone in our team on many occasions.
If we keep skrtel we have one of the best back 5 in the prem. We do not need another defender. We need mid and attacking players.
Red lee {Ed029's Note - Enrique was good at times last season but has nothing on Lahm.

I agree with you he has nothing on lahm. Was replying to the previous post. Dont get me wrong i would love a player of lahms abilty at anfield. Give it a year or two and we will be back in the cl and attracting all kids of players once again.
Red lee ynwa

This post is funny yet bang on. If you are out and about and not sure which Euro game is on, just log on and see who we are 'signing' and there's your answer!

Some of ya even filled the blank in...hahah - whatever happened to irony? Such a classic post - well done mate!

The eds would just reply.... he would not be on the cheep and reportedly chelsea,Man u,arsenal,rmadrid,fcb,bayern,ac,inter,and juve are interested... talk about covering your back {Ed022's Note - Well if all we do is cover our own backs then feel free not to bother us anymore. Win Win if you ask me.}

22 Jun 2012 19:31:15
Ed,it mite have been mentioned,I apoligize for the inconvenience as I mainly take note of attackers but matt hummels? The boy is is a great CB and only 22 and will only get better,he will be in my opinion a great CB. Would he be an option if an offer were made or a non starter? Thanks ed

Melbourne' {Ed005's Note - He recently signed a new deal with Dortmund mate so as brilliant as it would be it won't happen.}

He is a dortmund fan, aswell as winning the league, playing in CL football.

Never in a million years :L

LFCHero ;)!

If only! haha! he would be quiet brilliant

Youn Red

ED005 The person who first said about our interest in Rondon says that Malaga would sell for around 12-14 million as they want to replace him with Berbatov and/or Lisandro Lopez any truth in it ?
Do you feel that he would be a good buy at that price also do you think that would end our interest in Borini ? {Ed005's Note - The Spanish media seem to think they want to spend big money on a striker and move Rondon on to create room for him - personally I can't see the logic in doing that as I believe Rondon with the right players around him would be excellent for them but I guess it's our gain. I think he'd be an excellent buy personally and offers more than what we need up front. And from what I hear about Borini he's capable of playing in a wider position so I imagine it wouldn't have a bearing however coming out of Italy now that Roma own him now meaning it will be harder to get him.}

Do Roma want to keep hold of him ?
Surely they would sell at the right price around 10 million Euros

Borini isn't great but rondon wouldn't be too bad. If I'm honest I'd rather Lukk de Jong than the lot of them.

22 Jun 2012 19:19:28
Hearing LFC have made inquiries about Porto's James Rodriguez. Talk of a £23m bid.

Don

That's nice, now back from your Football Manager game to reality!

£23 million on him? not a hope in hell!

I read the same man u £20mil with Liverpool looking to outbid but the only quote was from his agent who was hoping to speak to Porto in the next 2 weeks. I'd say he looks more likely to join man u IF he leaves Porto.
Red sheep.

Top post, he's 12million on football manager. :)

22 Jun 2012 18:29:54
is there any chance of signing santi cazorla now villareal have been relegated he seems a reasonably decent player and probably quite cheap {Ed002's Note - He left Villareal for Malaga a year ago. He won't be moving to Liverpool.}

Nice one mate, keeping up with the times
Curiousgeorge

Haha fair enough that some people suggest players not knowing that there is deals already in place for them to move to a new club shaquiri, pilar etc but to suggest a player who left his club and has been playing for someone else for a full season then the phrase behind the times doesn't even come close to covering it lol

22 Jun 2012 18:05:37
Eds you heard anything about portos Rodriguez? LFC interest at 23m {Ed002's Note - I am not aware of interest from Liverpool.}

22 Jun 2012 17:37:14
well ed ive heard rumour we are looking at alvaro moreta (spellin)from real madrid have you heard any thing ? and i would love tello but that seems unlikely now so are we lookin at any young players to bring in ? thanks ed
clarkey boy12
{Ed002's Note - There are rumours about interest in Morata and Real Madrid need to raise hard cash so may be interested in selling. For me, it is like Tello and unlikely.}

22 Jun 2012 17:31:33
If Ed002 is about can I ask, if it hasn't been already, how do you rate Borini? I'm assuming you've seen more of him than most of us. How was he thought of while at Chelsea?

Cheers
Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - He was reasonably well thought of at Chelsea and they offered him a new deal, but he wanted assurances of game time - something Chelsea would not do.}

Found this on line thought it may be interesting
Borini keeps on running
Ahead of Fabio Borini's Italy bow, Scott Fleming recounts the tireless youngster's journey from West London to the Welsh Coast to the banks of the Tiber, with a knife between his teeth.

He never stops running. Watch the eight goals Fabio Borini has scored for Roma this season and you'll find almost all of them are the culmination of lung bursting runs. But he doesn't stop there. He doesn't catch his breath or accept the congratulations of his teammates, he keeps on running, as if he doesn't understand the game and isn't aware he's scored, like a little moustachioed Forrest Gump. He gallops off towards the sidelines, a big smile on his face, his right hand thrust between his teeth.

As celebrations go it's fairly naff, not quite as cool as Francesco Totti's thumb sucking or Pablo Osvaldo's machine gun routine, but it does provide us with some important insight if you're wondering what made Chelsea sign Borini when he was just 16 “ or what has compelled Cesare Prandelli to give the now 20-year-old his first international call-up for Italy's friendly against the USA in Genoa.

"I've been planning that celebration for a long time," he said after scoring his first senior goals in March last year, a brace for Swansea versus Nottingham Forest. "In Italy it means you've got the knife between your teeth “ it's when you want to achieve something so badly that you are angry to reach your goals."

Borini, who is a full three years younger than anyone else in the Azzurri squad for tomorrow's game, has had the good fortune to work with a bevy of respected Coaches in his short career to date, from Carlo Ancelotti to Brendan Rogers, Ciro Ferrara, Luis Enrique and now Prandelli, and not one of them has a bad thing to say about the boy from Bentivoglio.

If there's a theme to the praise lavished upon Borini by bosses past and present it's this “ his mental qualities, hunger, passion, the 'knife between his teeth', distinguish him and promote him above more naturally gifted teammates. "I was left very impressed by his determination," says Prandelli.

"Fabio lives for goals, first and foremost he expects to score in every game he plays," commented Rodgers, whose Swansea side have been adulated for their attractive football in the Premier League, but might still be in the Championship if it wasn't for Borini, so influential was the young Italian in his two months on loan at the Welsh club. Rodgers, who had previously worked with Borini in his capacity as reserve team Coach at Chelsea, attempted to bring the Azzurrini forward back to the Liberty Stadium even after Parma's summer swoop, but the Roma deal was already done. Borini headed for the Eternal City before he'd made a single competitive appearance for the Gialloblu.

Signing for such a big club seemed premature, and the Bologna youth product was little more than a bit part player until Osvaldo was struck down by injury in January. Enrique could have drafted in former Barcelona colleague Bojan Krkic as a replacement. If it was just a matter of God given ability he would have. "Enrique can no longer do without the tireless running of Borini," declared the Gazzetta dello Sport after the Giallorossi's 4-0 victory over Inter at the start of the month. "He ran himself into the ground and did the work of two players." That game was Borini's breakthrough, he scored two splendid goals and left Inter's defenders Lucio and Walter Samuel wheezing and reaching for their zimmer frames.

His style of play is old fashioned, as is his hair, his moustache, even his position “ not quite a winger, not quite a forward, more of a wing forward. But while Borini may lack Bojan's sophistication he more than makes up for it with good old-fashioned graft. And that's what makes him arguably the most exciting player Italy have produced since the man whose place he has took in Prandelli's squad, Mario Balotelli.

Chris in Tamworth

Couldn't agree with this more. The posts I've read from you are pretty dead-on Chris. Nice job.

phillyred. {Ed019's Note - Ah I see the reason behind his celebration now, good job Chris}

Interesting...BR's system has wide forward roles, Borini sounds like he would fit the role perfectly.

I was wondering what that goal celebration ment

Agreed- nice find, Chris!

RDL

Oh christ, hes sounds like the next Dirk Kuyt. Please God no

Oh christ, hes sounds like the next Dirk Kuyt. Please God yes!

Cheers Chris, even more excited about the kid now!

MansfieldRED

Sweet, he sounds like a replacement for the Diggler.

TSP

Interesting? Nah, it's actually quite tedious journalism.

I watch him quite often he's rubbish!

I-breath-reds

Nice one Chris.
I wouldn't mind seeing that celebration at Old Trafford !
Crank it right up.

eds do u think if srktel was to leave for 20 mill we could use that money to invest in a top striker or winger {Ed029's Note - Yeah we could use Coates or Kelly in defence and a player like Elia or De Jong could be bought.

Skrtel will no be leaving!
Red Lee

If skrtel is to leave we should go for Munian de Jong and sigardson which would cost a combined 40 million. The good thing is that those transfer fees will probably double for each player within two years. It is also wise as we should reduce the wage bill by letting aqua cole maxi kuyt skrtel and spearing go. That will bring in around 30 million plus we will have a major reduction in wages.

{Ed019's Note - I have made a Small Compilation of Fabio Borini who is heavily linked with us - please watch and enjoy! ;) http://youtu.be/7ISI0IccRr4 }

Thanks for the Effort Ed019! {Ed019's Note - No problem at all}

Link not working {Ed019's Note - definitely working. Copy and Paste from the 'h' right to the '4'}

His movement looks excellent surely worth a pop!

Gman

Seems like a Suarez kinda player, quick and good on the ball, good finish. and one weird goal celebration.

Looks alright. And Rodgers knows him well

The latest rumour doing the rounds is that the Sigurdsson deal is very close to falling apart because Liverpool aren't keen on matching Hoffenheim's asking price (which is a few £million more than Swansea originally agreed)

Q.P.R & Reading are sniffing around now ready to jump in. Both clubs will happily meet the asking price and could be ready to offer Sigurdsson a better salary than Liverpool can.

Rumour has it the transfer window has yet to open so the media are making stuff up

Why all of a sudden do all these clubs want to hijack the move now Liverpool are after him..... I'll let everyone draw their own conclusions

Npton Red (will use this from now on!)

I can't see the wages making any difference. The lad wants to come and if BR wants him, Liverpool will pay, although they won't just throw money if they can get him cheaper.

Seriously, QPR and Reading, if our deal is breaking down the boy will go to Swansea

If reading are offering a bigger salary than us, then we may aswell pack up and go home!

Reading or Liverpool? To an ambitious player that's the proverbial no brainer.I believe the poster might be more accurate if he or she had typed "a better salary than Liverpool are WILLING to pay"! If a club makes a crazy wage offer should we agree to beat it to ensure we sign the guy?

Why should we be held to ransom bt them crowd, they agreed a fee with Swansea, typical, the liverpool name comes into it and they add a few million quid. If he's that ambitious to play for Reading just for an extra few quid then let him off, Lucas will be back soon

Sorry but am I a mong? Can't see anything in this post bout salary? Thought it said hoffenheim were upping the asking price and that the mentioned clubs were happy to meet it if we weren't?

Strange....

Red-pasty

This whole thing is likely the media whipping things up into a frenzy over nothing. Yes Hoffenheim (sp?) will ask for more from LFC cause as I understood the cost to swansea was lower due to the terms of the loan deal. And if he moves somewhere else like Reading or QPR (which I believe is unlikely) then good luck to him, obivously he wanted something in writing that we couldn't promise (wages, gametime promises etc). If he moves to MU then let him, at least he's going for what would seem to be football reasons. However if, (and IMHO when) he signs for us I have no doubt we'll have the moaners on...wah wah... why didn't we get him for what swasea woud have...wah..wah.. he isn't LFC standard and all that.

Lord, really is no pleasing some people.

JJ

They can offer more celery

Sigurdsson to be completed with medical on Monday, Borini will also sign after Euros. Looking at Hoilett but will most likely lose out as Champions League teams also in for him.

No Adam Johnson, Micah Richards. Skrtel will sign a new contract and stay.

New to the site but hope you will all appreciate a realistic fan in the know. I will be in touch if/when I hear any more from my sources.

Thanks,

The Red Bug

At least you posted your name

Crap! transfer completed Monday! When does the transfer window open? Idiot

It will open this sunday (1st of July), so maybe he is speaking the truth

I can back Red Bug up over the negotians for Hoilett. As i reported In January, There are serveral english clubs inculding Tottenham, liverpool and Aresenal intrested in the kid. Natrually Tottenhams intrest has stalled due to the manager situation. This information is courtecy of Blackburns Assistant Manager( Who believes Hoilett to be a special talent)

The Wise Rigglet

Hoilett arleady signed for another club - bug off

This Sunday is 24 June unless I'm a week behind!

And he spelled sources right

Or maybe this Sunday is the 24th and he is lying lmao, cant even get dates right.
Have to say though Siggy could be a done deal before NEXT sunday, with personal terms, medical etc. Anyway deals can be done and signed off outside the transfer window, players just can't swap teams unless the window is open thats all. We could sign him now if we wanted!

Liverpool are interested in 17 year old striker mbaye niang after caens relegation. Would cost 6 million euro.
source: sly sports

Recycled story!

22 Jun 2012 11:59:09
German source "A Bola" reporting liverpool, utd, Chelsea and spurs have all shown intrest in Klaas Jan huntelaar, who has release clause of £17m

Not good enough.

A bit old for the FSG model, perhaps? He is 29 in August.

Unlikely to be any resale value on that £17m.

Tarka

Your full of it mate

I know the source's brother, E Bola. His work went viral back in the 1970s...

A bola is Portuguese not German

What joker said huntelaar isnt good enough? He is world class and walk straight into our first team along with the first team of anyone in the epl! World class striker my dillusional friend

22 Jun 2012 11:36:44
is there still interest in Tello, been quiet?

I wish we get Tello and Krasic. Both are cheap for different reasons but they both are worth the prices quoted by the media.

£7million for Tello, gets in the barca team granted that Afellay and Villa have been injured but he has done well.

£6million for Krasic, we should pay that just to get some flair and attacking mentality on the wings.

keep Downing for now and let Tello rival downing for the left wing.

Get Bedimo for left back cover for £5million and let him rival Enrique.

Get Sigurdsson for £8.5million and send Shelvey on season long loan to Swansea.

Sell Spearing & Adam and get Granero or R.Garcia for around £7m

and then just get Avarlo Morata or Luc Castaignosas as we have Suarez, Bellamy and Carroll. Besides there is always the January transfer window to get some loans in like the one we were interested in with Guagliarella before he got injured this past season.

1. Tello - 7m (replacement / maxi)
2. Krasic - 6m (replacement / kuyt)
3. Bedimo - 5m (replacement / Aurelio)
4. Sigurdsson - 8.5m (replacement / Aquilani)
5. Granero or Gracia - 7m (replacement / Adam and Spearing)
6. Morata or Castaignos 6.5m

CoolBreeze

players in would cost from £40m to £45m

and we'd be able to get around £10m for Spearing, Adam, Maxi and Aquilani.

To me that is our most realistic transfers but I'd be happy for a surprise like Soldado or Muniain (who is available).

Daily Mail is reporting The sigurdson deal has stalled and QPR are in for him now. Any idea if this is true or any further updates.
Cheers

scobie

Daily mail is correct he wanted to play for a bigger club

goooner

Nothing on Sky or BBC updates so prob just a made up story.

Ha blimey, is that how far we have fell now? Might lose out on players to QPR

Why would he move to QPR when he could meve to lfc and swansea

Must be true then if its in the fail.

Mighty reds

Ok as u have asked this question give me 1 reason why he would chose mighty QPR over
liverpool ?

Daily Mail? Daily Mail? Why would you even believe that tripe?? It's run by idiots whom trek the four corners of the globe, seeking the cure for menopause!

Hoffenheim are in no position to hold Liverpool to ransom, they agreed 6.8 million now there backtracking because they want more now liverpool are involved. Disgraceful really.

Do not believe the Daily Fail. Like all newspapers out there they are being frustrated by lack of information rec'd so they are making things up to try and create a story- I would also like to state that it is great to see that the club seems to be doing their business properly again -

I agree a load of b****cks to try and get more cash out of Liverpool, he can go to qpr.
Don't see why we should pay more just cause we are Liverpool.

Scobie, you don't have a scoobie

Hoffenheim aren't backtracking. They agreed £6.8m with Swansea as part of the loan deal. They can ask for whatever they want for their player. The £6.8m figure quoted was exclusive to Swansea as part of his loan, nobody else.

Maybe because QPR have the richest owners in Britain...

22 Jun 2012 11:04:02
Are Man City actually interested in skrtel? if so how much do you think they would offer? i think if an offer comes in for him we will accept it. Also I think that he only plays well with Agger when he's with anyone else he is terrible!

Also whats the news on sigurdsson? Are we close to signing him?

Also do you know who else we are ACTUALLY interested in?

Love the site! Keep up the good work guys!

This is a perfect situation to do a swap deal with adam johnson

redricho

He's never terrible, his stats will prove how consistent he is for us season after season regardless of who he's playing with. He was like a collosus last season, just because theres speculation that he might leave people start to downgrade his ability....the same thing happened to Meireles when he left. He was player of the season for a reason.

I wouldn't sell any of our starting defenders unless a 20 million + offer comes in
derryred

Daily Fail in their story on Borini to LFC mention the move for Gylfi Sigurdsson has stalled, with QPR interested...

Surely can't be true

RedSG

Lol when i said this earlier in week i got slated for citing my source, he maybe wrong but its just comical.

Scouse Ben

Sigurdsson wont choose qpr over us

22 Jun 2012 10:44:22
Kenny wanted soldado Munian susaeta and two other players who probably were Lukk de Jong and Diame. Rodgers seems to want sigardson krasic borini etc. I am a little concerned that he is going after players who are not good enough and are Swansea standard although I think sigardson would be a good buy the others won't improve us. Do you see any other of our rivals targeting these players? No you don't as they are not going to get us into the top 4.

Thanks

And Kenny bought, Downing,Adam,Hendson, who are also not LFC standard, at least Rodgers will not spend half as much on players of similar quality.

Kenny may have wanted them, but I doubt any except possibly Soldado would have signed. As for Rodgers targets many forget at one point Krasic was wanted by most top European clubs he's just out of favour, Borini and Sigurdsson are both young and good talents as is Rondon. Give the players we do sign a chance before wanting to get on their backs

Yes man u, siggurdson, linked after spell at swansea, and tottenham for krasic. He turned down a move and then came out saying he regretted not going.

LFCHero ;)!

I think Rodgers knows exactly what he's doing, end of the day if KD was still around we wouldnt of signed Munian anyway.. sorry to say but unless we have CL football players like him wont come to us.. think what you want its true.. I think with BR tactics and man management skills I reckon we'll end up 5-6th next season, then I reckon next summer we'll have a spending spree and get into top 4 the season after, we dont do as bad as we did last year.. BR wont be just a friend.. like KD was.. he'll be a strong manager.

How do you know who kenny wanted he never speaks to anybody about transfers and brendan is going after young players who in the long run might come good.

How do you know? can you see the future?

Stop your guesswork. This is pure speculation and you have no knowledge (like the rest of us) of who or what Kenny wanted.

If we targeted players our rivals wanted they would cost an arm and a leg... look giv buck man the chance wait and see his swansea standard players at swansea were well able to beat the piss out of top teams inc us REDNESS

Targetting players just cause our "rivals" do will get us nowhere. As for the player Borini is a top striking talent that Chelsea wanted to keep and Krasic is a right winger do we have any in our squad no so he will improve us so please go away

Thanks

Spot on m8 couldn't agree more with you

If kenny dalglish would have targeted the players you mentioned last summer instead of what he got we would not be here in the first place and he would still be in charge..
there is no point in saying what he would have done this summer when he wasted 100 million plus on average players in the last transfer window ..
for now we need to trust rodgers and his player recruitment coz he has been phenomenal recruiting raw talent with meager budgets..

The owners do not have the money to bring top players.

Can you confirm Kenny wanted these players? Just because there was interest, it doesn't mean they would have moved for them. Furthermore, you talk as if just because players aren't a massive name they won't make an immediate impact on the Premiership...names such as SIGURDSSON, Jelavic and Cisse spring to mind. If you simply want big named players then I'm sure Chelsea could do with the support considering their fans are a waste of space.

No way would Kenny have been given the funds to get those players, not after his last spending spree. Rodgers will sign players that suit his system that doesn't strain the clubs finance. It would be lovely if he had £50m plus to spend but the likely hood is he has £25-£30m plus player sales.

Another doom and gloom merchant! I think you are missing the point when you consider the targets that you mention and try to compare us to other teams.

1. It is easy for any manager to have a "wish-list" and I am sure that players such as Hulk, Munian, llorente etc would be on most Prem League Managers "wish lists". But you then have to be realistic in terms of players that you can afford, and then attract (based on profile of the club, Champs League qualification, wage structure etc). Which is then how managers draw up their "targets".

2. You dismiss Krasic and Borini out of hand. Krasic was one of football's hot properties a couple of seasons ago. Players dont become bad players overnight and I personally think the style of play he has been under in Italy is just not suited to him. If the manager thinks that he is suitable for the style of play he intends, then let's trust his judgement. As for Borini, he has played well for Roma this season (in a league notoriously difficult for strikers) played himself into the international squad and is only young. Brendan worked with him at youth level and (if he is interested in bringing him in) will clearly understand what it is he will add to the team. Again, lets trust his judgement.

3. Just because other Prem teams are not known to be interested in players, doesnt necessarily reflect on the quality of the players or how they will adapt to our team. No other prem clubs wanted Hypia, or Alonso (and Masch was an outcast at West Ham) so enough said on that really.

If indeed you are a Liverpool fan, I suggest you show a bit of patience and give Brendan a chance to mould the side he wants to build.

Surely any club, LFC included has to go for quality players who they CAN GET and WHO WANT TO PLAY for LFC, not just always paying over the odds to get mercenaries who soon lose the will to play and move on.
Get real some of you LFC fans, and support the new Manager as well as the team.

Just maybe he is going for players who can play in the swansea style , can you see charlie adam playing fast , i cant and carrol is so slow , so wait untill he does F.U , and then moan about the manager , and bye the way we do not have a right winger unles you put gerrard out there again

Diame played for a team that almost got relegated and is now playing for West Ham, de Jong didn't get one minute for Holland at the Euros despite their problems to score goals, what makes you think they are good enough for LFC?

All of them u mentioned will improve us by far

Kenny also signed Adam, downing and Henderson

Krasic would defenatly improve the current squad stop dreaming about top 4 it aint guna happen yet

Mate, have you watched any of Borini, Siggi, Krasic? Krasic is one of the best outside rights I have ever seen. Borini is an excellent target man, great awareness, positioning, excellent finisher both feet, Siggi I have watched less of, but from what I see he has excellent distribution, can come back in mid and help out and is a solid pro.

YNWA!

So when exactly did Kenny tell u he wants to sign.....

Yea right! Charlie Adam was really making strides forwards

Dont no bout how good they are but swansea drew with us at home and beat us at theres

cheers mal

Totally agree mate, while we possibly might not get these players they will not improve our team at all. hopefully we will not get any of borini, krasic etc

If Kenny Wanted and signed them players in the first place he would still be our manager!!!

Your concerns are wrong and have no need. why do you peple always slag off liverpool's players or players we arelinked to. you even slagged off all of the managers we were linked to. with dome of you the grass is always greener. really gone just support the team. you should be thankful that our rebuilding spell is half done. thanks to kenny. now rodgers is the perfect man to take our club foreward.
derryred

Love Kenny, but his signing last season are the reason he was sacked ! Let the new man pick the players he wants , just because they don't have big names , doesn't mean they wont do a good job for liverpool in rodger's system

ed's are we still interested in luke de jong. And would we have a good chance of singing him {Ed002's Note - There has been sustained interest but chances of him joining are slipping away.}

{Ed002's Note - There has been sustained interest but chances of him joining are slipping away.}
=======================
Hi Ed002, why do you think LFC chances of getting Luke de jong slipping away, I tried the search function and did n't see any explanation or comments from you or otherwise to suggest why, ist other clubs interest, or is our interest in him have faded ? Thanks
Roy

{Ed002's Note - Interest has been shown by Dortmund, Liverpool, Spurs, Hamburg and Lille and now we are seeing bids being made by Borussia Monchengladbach and Newcastle. It has been suggested to me that Lazio are looking to Luuk De Jong as a replacement for Tommaso Rocchi. Liverpool are not actively chasing him right now.}

I think he will go to Newcastle at this rate!

IMHO he doesnt look anything special and he is flattered by the league he plays in....remeber how many goals Kuyt scored before he came to us.......

Shushyboy

We don't need Luuk De Jong. If we get Borini who is the likeliest of all strikers we're being linked with I'll be happy........& we should sell Carroll as he's horrible.

SUMON VAI

Munian and soldado we have no chance, why would they come to us? We are no longer in the top tier of European clubs - on the pitch at least, Get real

22 Jun 2012 09:26:29
hey ed if we go get borini what are the chances of luk de jong also coming

vivek12011 {Ed002's Note - The chances of Luuk De Jong at all are drifting away right now.}

I would prefer luuk de jong to boroni he is more established

Hi Ed, i am interested to know your opinion on real sociedad winger antoine griezemann? he seems to have incredible potential and raw ability. are liverpool any probability of signing him? South Aussie Red {Ed002's Note - Athletico Madrid, Valencia, Marseille and Lyon have shown some interest in Griezmann in the recent past and repordedly Barcelona tool a look at one time, but there is nothing of note right now. The kid has said that he has no plans to leave Spain this summer.}

South Aussie Red - you from Adelaide mate?

Good to see another couple of followers/posters from S.A on here!

Not wishing to be funny, but unless you're Brendan Rodgers, what difference does it make what the EDs or any of us think of this player or any other?

The fact is, Rodgers and his closest advisors are the only ones who know which players we will or won't be signing this Summer. It just makes me laugh that every day I see numerous names being mentioned on here, as if people assume that the EDs will somehow make that signing possible. They do a fantastic job, but miracles are not part of their brief.

How they stay sane with the same questions being asked over and over again is anyone's guess!

Sorry for the rant, but doesn't anyone have any rumours??

Hi Eds & Reds,

Would it be fair to say that this Borini kid would be a back up player to Suarez, I dont know much about him, perhaps Eds & Reds can shed some light on it for, I know hes not the 6ft 4 battering ram like Carroll, so i am thinking he plays in a simliar role to Suarez or is he a fox in the box type player like God?

many thanks in advance,

R_R {Ed002's Note - The main reason he left Chelsea was because they would not give him assurances over game time.}

I think he'd fancy a first team place going off last season.
Red sheep.

He isn't good enough

He IS good enough. He's what you get if you cross T***es with a young Michael Owen

He seems to be good enough to be in the full Italy squad for Euro 2012. So could be a good long term bet. Also, BR has good knowledge of him and that may tip things in his favour. We know we need more striker cover - not just as backup but in order to rotate and handle 4 competitions next season. He may not walk into the first XI but provides decent competition for a change. I think the move makes sense. But then again this could all just be paper talk with the real targets yet to be revealed...

Hi Eds. Great Site
Apologies if you've answered this before but I cannot find a definitive. Can we put to bed all these rumours of Reina moving? Should we read anything into him not yet having met Rodgers or is that bs?
Thanks LFC786 {Ed005's Note - There are no plans to sell Reina at the moment mate and we want to bring back Xavi Valero which should keep him happy as he enjoyed working with him so hopefully all will be fine, but who knows.}

I hope he leaves as if he doesn't leave now we will never get money for him

Any ideas why we got rid of Valero? {Ed022's Note - Because he wanted to join Inter and follow Rafa.}

22 Jun 2012 08:21:17
Tomkins and Mancienne have been enquired about! Heard from a good source this morning!

db

Mancienne ?
Rogers probably knows him from Chelsea but he has hardly set the world alight since his England U21 days.

Yeah okay because we don't have enough young defenders

Ed is Rondon any good. If so why would Malaga want to sell as they are very rich plus they have champions league football so would he be interested. I have watched Malaga on a few occasions and I've been impressed with cazorla but he hasn't really caught my eye.

Thanks ed {Ed005's Note - Because they want to reduce their Non-EU quota which is limited and they want to make room for a big-name striker in the Summer.}

Why do we not want a big name striker ed?

Thanks {Ed002's Note - All clubs need to operate within their means and "big name" strikers can be very expensive.}

I thought Rondon had spanish citizenship, He's been there long enough. Unless there citizenship criteria changed recently?

22 Jun 2012 08:14:31
any interest in miguel veloso? or would he be too expensive after his good displays at the euros?

What games have u been watchin? Veloso has been awful every game! I think uve got the wrong player, u probably mean Moutinho.

He was awful last night

Flids

Just wondering Wether your watching the same player he has be awful this euro

Moutinho would be a much better option

He has being Portugal's worst player by a country mile!!open your eyes mate

22 Jun 2012 08:14:07
Sigurdsson, Borini, Emanuelson, Afellay are the four players Rodgers wants to sign.

Got to be careful who he buys remember Poulson that was one of the reasons godson got sacked

Affellay is overrated from what I saw at the Euros. Don't want him at Anfield

Another 4 are Ronaldo , messi , xavi and iniesta but that aint going to happen

Zincho

Newcastle make 12 million bid for de jong
G Red

The toons are showing real intent, aren't they?

Toons will be gr8 force up front if they get him yet again pool very slow no chance of top 4 again

What do you mean 'pool very slow'? The transfer window hasn't even opened and you're already moaning. Some people really can't be pleased, get a grip of yourself. If Liverpool haven't moved for Luuk it's because he doesn't fit into the new strategy, a strategy which I have full faith in. Your negativity isn't going to help anything, it's fair enough to share an opinion but 'no chance of top 4 again' is such a defeatist attitude, you've already resigned yourself to a bad season before it's even started!

Yes m8 we are far behind toons, spurs not to mention chavski united arsenal or citeh. toons having gr8 striking power and still looking for more. so please tell me who is fitting our strategy at the moment? swans players?

Last season there were screams on here because other clubs had beaten us to those 2 world class players Scott Dann and Connor Wickham.Dann was relegated with his second team and played like a player from a lower division.Wickham sank without trace despite people on here screaming he was pure class.I'd love a few of those who howl about us not signing 15 or 20 stars to come on here and just say something like "oooppps got that wrong didn't I?" The transfer window isn't even open yet and according to some we're already left behind by other clubs and doomed to failure.Ah come at least wait a few weeks and see what happens. {

We haven't even bid for him out of the 6 strikers we've been linked with we won't be buying them all. 1 striker 1 midfielder 1 winger and 1 left back and replace whoever leaves.
Red sheep.

Suarez and carroll with the right supply there gonna bang them in bit of backup would be nice lets hope suso and sterling get to strut there stuff

22 Jun 2012 06:48:38
Hi Eds,

Is there any interest in moutinho? Class player

Keep up the good work and ignore the haters on this site
Cheers
{Ed005's Note - I've heard nothing mate but I really wish there was I've rated the guy since his Sporting days and I think he's a top midfielder. I think he'd be out of our price range at the moment.}

IMO I don't think he's the kind of player that would succeed in the EPL. I've also watched him for numerous years now and his skill is cool but his physical presence is at best weak. I remain sceptical.

Eds when you say out of our price range I have been told that FSG will willingly pay top money for any player if they think he will improve the team and maintain market value ? Is this not the case ? {Ed019's Note - Nope, there is not a bottomless pit unfortunately}

Ed 005, this may sound a bit thick on my behalf but I read here all the time that we don't have a transfer budget per se and that if the player is deemed good enough then we would be interested. Mountinho you say would be too expensive, how much do you think he'd cost and what are the upper limits of budget please. Not trying to be smart just looking for any info.
Regards and keep up the great work
optimistic red {Ed005's Note - True that there is no budget mate - but how much we spend on a player is determined by many factors and the factors we have to cope with is no CL football thus loss of revenue and compliance with the FFP rules on top of the fact that other clubs may be competing with us for him. I personally think we'd be looking at £30m or maybe a bit more for him and huge wages. Plus, I believe in Gerrard we have someone who has shown he can play in that deeper role alongside Lucas and it looks as if that will happen, and Sigurdsson will be in front of them next year.}

22 Jun 2012 06:39:28
Hi Eds,

Whats the current situation with Kadlec? If Skrtel was to leave this guy would be a great replacement. How much do you think he'd cost?

Coily {Ed005's Note - I don't know mate but personally I don't think he'd be a suitable replacement given that he's a natural left-back and even playing there he still lacked defensivly. That's my opinion though I'm sure you have your own reasons for liking him.}

22 Jun 2012 04:49:23
i think liverpool are on the verge of completing a move for adam johnson and daniel sturrige also think krasic and elia will sign for what you reckon eds ? {Ed005's Note - The only deal we're on the verge of is Sigurdsson.}

Why would we sign so many wingers ?

Going from no wingers to 5 thats a bit drastic dont you think?

22 Jun 2012 02:18:39
so borini and rondon is realistic targets, but the only sources you have are the media in the respective countries, what are the real chances of them? {Ed005's Note - If you are saying that then why ask what the real chances are? I really don't see the point. What says they are realistic targets is their fees are within our reach as is their wages and they fit the bill age wise.}

Thats kind of what i wanted to know, thanks!

Lol this made me laugh as does every post on here! I think I've read over a 1000 posts on here and still haven't heard eds give a straight answer yet! You all talk s**t! {Ed005's Note - Haven't heard the eds give a straight answer? Now I think you are talking.....ahem. What are we the oracles of football or what? Because only you posters appear to be giving us that tag. I actually did give the guy a straight answer in that they are realistic targets as their fees and wages are within the reach of the club so perhaps after reading over 1000 posts your reading skills need some much desired work at some point.}

Ed's the majority of us respect and enjoy the work you do, only some people are too ignorant and demanding to respect it so just ignore them!

You'se are very much appreciated :)

hi eds a mate of mine who has been a season ticket holder for years has just text me out of the blue saying that we re interested in theo walcott.do any of the eds know of any new interest in him?thanx dhlfc {Ed005's Note - Apparantly Dalglish was keen. That's all I know. I think if he worked on his decision making and end product he'd be brilliant.}

If I worked on my skill and speed and starting product and finishing product and decision making and physical prowess and...Well I'd be good enough!

He's not always a first choice at the Gunners, so why do we covet him. Jammy goal too for England, but speed aplenty is his strength.

22 Jun 2012 00:10:22
eds, are liverpool actually interested in that borini? {Ed005's Note - The Italian media would lead you to believe we are interested mate.}

So would Ben Smith from the BBC and Neil Jones from the Liverpool Echo.

22 Jun 2012 00:07:49
Hi eds, 2 names who i think would be interested in coming to us if we showed interest would be hamsik of napoli and jesus navas of sevilla. Do you know if lfc or any other clubs have shown interest in these players recently. Thanks jayo. {Ed005's Note - Navas has a big problem with homesickness mate and I can't see anyone get him let alone Liverpool. Hamsik - I can't see it.}

Ed005 i know you said hamsik is unlikely but I hope you are wrong. Think of the quality he would add. I know its unlikely we would get him.

Lil red {Ed005's Note - He would add some qualities but for me not the qualities we need. And I don't think he would fit into Rodgers' style of play - Rodgers is about passing, moving, players constantly moving to find space - Hamsik's work-rate is incredibly low from what I've seen and he doesn't move around enough to find space. One big problem for us last year was players being too rigid and we need players who are constantly moving off the ball - Hamsik isn't that IMO. I'm not saying he's a bad player, he's a quality player but we need to be wise and sign players who suit our style but also improve us. Anyway aside from that - won't be happening as he is out of our price range.}

Hamsik is so overrated. he's not even that good. sigurdsson is much better.

First off for the Eds. Quality site - keep it up fellas. 2 things I do when I get up sly news and this site.
Is there any chance we've any interest in Joao Moutinho? The Bluenoses were interested a while ago so he can't be that pricey and he's not set the world alight in the Euro's so shouldn't be too expensive.
Also is Macca in hibernation? {Ed005's Note - He would be way to pricey for us to get mate although any club who may get him in the future is very lucky!}

I.e tottenham when A.B.V bring him over
OWTS

22 Jun 2012 00:01:05
Would you say if skrtel was to go we would have a chance of getting Simon kjaer him and Agger seem to have a great partnership with Denmark and kjaer also seems comfortable as a ball playing CB as Denmark passed the ball well. Just my two pence on the situation.

He's previously basically said come and get me to the club....we didn't ...

21 Jun 2012 23:53:54
Hi Ed's, Do you think there is any chance of signing Daniele De Rossi? He is quoted as saying "I have received many offers from English football. And I must say that I feel attraction for it." He also said: "Steven Gerrard has always been my idol. Since 10 years ago, he is among the best in the world."
From this I gather he would love to play alongside Steven Gerrard and I think he would fit in quite well in the defensive midfield role.
I know he has just signed a new contract in february, but if an approach came from liverpool, do you think he would consider a move to Anfield. I am sure the fans would be very happy.
Great site Ed's, I would like to know your opionions on this.

YNWA, Red Lee {Ed005's Note - Fee, Age, wages would be enough to put us off mate. And if we could afford him I'm sure many major clubs could also afford him and they offer CL football and more money.}

21 Jun 2012 23:31:31
Ed quick question

If gylfi signs does that mean the over weight, slow and very average Charlie Adam will be sold ? I bloody do hope so.

LFC1 {Ed005's Note - Good chance that could happen mate.}

Hope they sell adam .. scott parker be a good replacement lucas scott parker ,gerard ,sigurdson , gaston ramirez and adam john or matt harvis

Hes awful. Small fish in a big pond thats been found out. Corners are worth "10m" said alex.....maybe when they actually beat the first man!

Fingers crossed is right! what a flop! chap needs to hit the thread mill...

Woh! was he that bad, really? Seem to rmbr Opta stats frequently stating he ran more than anyone, also he tried and set up quite alot of chances on his day. Give Adams the chance afforded to the run all day but does nothing, no technique Henderson. Your comments are a joke. Get behind our players!!

Was he that bad, really? Not the worst last season, but yes, unfortunately, he was really bad. Maybe your support for him would be more convincing if you could get the man's name right. It's ADAM not ADAMS.

Man come on adam was soilage he kicked the ball up the field with mode3rate accuracy and carragher does that just as good at least if carra looses the ball he will fight like a dog to get it back and adam had his moments but hes just not good enough let him off and buy sandro on d cheap

21 Jun 2012 23:12:07
hey eds what's this boy rondon like in his general play. is he a clinical finisher or is he a workaholic. just interested would like to know. {Ed005's Note - Great finisher, good in the air, quick, strong - almost the complete striker for me. Would be a top top signing.}

Ed005 why are you saying rondon is a great finisher and would be a top top signing ? 12 goals in 45 games ? explain please im confused !? {Ed005's Note - Have you watched Rondon play or do you base judgements on all players on stats? Rondon is nowhere near the finished article for a start mate but anyone can see he is a great finisher - what he lacks is composure at times but that can be improved at 22 years of age. Another thing is one would question whether he got the quality service that he required at Malaga at times - they lack quality in certain areas and aren't a team who score many goals - not many more than us last season. When you consider that it makes things much clearer however just watch the fella playe instead of being ignorant and you will see what a great player he could be and what a good finisher he is. Look at Fernando Torres before he signed for Liverpool - 14 League goals the year before he joined, 13 league goals the year before that? Does that mean he wasn't a quality finisher?}

Eds, have we shown any interest in James Rodriguez or Douglas Costa? Young exciting talented wide player that fit the policy and have the technical ability to excel in BR system. {Ed005's Note - Rodriguez was watched at some stage last season apparantly - but that is the case with perhaps hundreds of players. That's as far as it goes.}

Douglas Costa cant get a work permit and no one knows who owns rodriguez. Hence why his agent said his situation is complex

21 Jun 2012 22:49:10
Hi Eds

I am hearing a lot about Morata being a possible addition to LFC as he has been told by the special one that he can leave.
I hope that this is not true as I have watched him a few times and even though he is lively ( should be he is only 19 ) he has one MAJOR flaw.....no left leg. He always cuts back in on his right and defenders find it easy to mark him by pushing him out on his left side....

What you thick Ed's ? Do ye rate him ? {Ed005's Note - He's certainly highly rated at Real Madrid. Whether he's ready for regular first-team football at Liverpool and whether the fee we would pay would be wise consider we need other areas improving would be questionable.}

With only 1 leg he's bound to fall over a lot.

I imagine he falls over a lot

A good future prospect perhaps but as you say Ed it would be unwise to invest that kind of money at this early stage in BR's reign . bigger fish to fry and all that....

A question on Rondon, I read an article saying they wanted 20 million off Chelsea for him and then read on here he may be worth 9 million, which would he be closer to if we were to bid for him {Ed005's Note - I think half way between those figures would get him.}

Its chelsea id charge them 25 mill for adam or 50 for torr.....oh wait

Ed what you think of Clarence seedorf.For a year cause hes a free agent as cover for Lucas he stil got the legs and could add something to are midfield.I would like to see him cheers.MATTYLFC {Ed005's Note - I don't think he could possibly be cover for Lucas as he's an attacking midfielder. I think he's too old now, well past his best and he wouldn't merit the wages he would receive.}

Genoa finished just above relegation zone in Serie A, are any clubs looking at Miguel Veloso?

He must be available for perhaps GBP 10 million and is a pretty decent ball playing defensive centre mid which is rare.

Yes but Veloso is shocking.... That why hes there

Hes technically awful, he gives the ball away more than he keeps it, moutinho makes him look better than he is, watch veloso properly and he attempts all these long balls which never come off, he is very weak defensively as well

Hi there eds. Is the interest in salomon rondon from lfc significant. If so he would be a bargain at 9 million. Unlike the strikers we are linked with aka soldado and luuk de jong. He has pace to burn, and his strength combined with his pace could be lethal if he gets a break at a big club, he could potentially be worldclass.. What do you think eds is it serious and prefrebly lfc eds what do you think about rondon. Thanks if you do reply.

Simon hill {Ed005's Note - The media in Spain are quite sure that there is serious interest from Liverpool for the player but I think 9m will be abit low. Add another 4-6m onto that price and I think we could get Rondon provided interest is real.}

Well ed the question is how much are we willing to fork out for a backup to andy carroll ? i think that 15 million may be the limit.

Sigurdsson will sign on july 1st, we will also sign Tello and either sturridge or A johnson.

Suarez or carrol will not leave at all, skrtel may go if a reasonable offer comes in, and thats it.

Well, the only thing I don't like about rumour is that Carroll will not be leaving. The sooner he leaves the better. He's a terrible player.

Hi edds, are we looking Yarmolenko? he is a great player, he plays well and scores a considerable # of goals.
If Skrtel is gone, Dragovic (from Basel) may be in or plans? {Ed005's Note - I don't have a clue mate - it was asked a couple of days ago and Ed002 gave some information on the lad maybe have a we look for it as I can't be bothered! :) }

Question that I'm hoping either the Eds or another poster can answer for me. There's been a lot of talk today about Skrtel in the context of Man City which is fair enough. What I can't quite put my finger on is why Man City would want him? Surely he'd be behind the duo of Lescott and Kompany wouldn't he (theoretically speaking)? Would Man City really pay that kind of money for a backup (and alternatively would Skrtel want to be one)?

Apologies if it's a dumb question, just not real sure I follow the logic of this one? Entirely possible I missed something on the Man City side as I don't really follow their movements very closely.

RDL {Ed005's Note - Mancini is looking for another option at the back as he felt last season they were short in that position and struggled when players were tired/injured. How Mancini rates him compared to Lescott or how he plans to use him only he knows to be honest - either way he is willing to pay a big fee for him.}

Thanks for the response, Ed005, it's appreciated.
