Hello Eds it has been mentioned in the athletic that lfc are trying to sign 2 players this summer . What do you guys think about this will this be with someof the relagated sides like norwich for cantwell or werder bremen for rashica or somebody of that ilk or will be spending?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what they have said and really you should be asking this question of them. I have discussed Cantwell and Rashica before and suspect interest remains in Rashica if Shaqiri were moved on. As a replacement for Lallana, Cantwell fits the bill but I think it more likey that Curtis Jones will be further integrted in to the squad taking up Lallana's place.}

I think that Rashica will end up at RB Leipzig as they’re apparently in negotiations (if reports are to be believed), so we’re wasting our time there. Cantwell would be a waste of money as Curtis Jones is capable of stepping up to replace Lallana. Personally I think we need to look at a versatile defender who can cover CB and fullback and a versatile forward, but there’s not a lot of proven quality out there at the prices we can afford.

Hi Eds, from what our club journalists have been saying Elliott seems to be a replacement for Shaqiri in the squad with Minamino providing cover for the #9 role. Do you think any attacking signing this summer will hinge on Divock getting sold?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Elliott is still very young, has to attend school and is limited on the amount of time he can train. I am not aware of any efforts to sell Origi although the club are open to selling the likes of Shaqiri, Grujic, Wilson and Karius to raise funds.}

Cheers Ed. I get your point but then it seems he is very much a part of the first team squad now with him regularly training at Melwood to making the bench in yesterday's match. It would be nice if he could prove himself to be a viable option for RW back up in 20/ 21.

Also on transfers, there is a report from Kicker linking us to Melkamu Frauendorf, 16 year old attacker from Hoffenheim. Have you heard about him?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Melkamu Frauendorf (AM) is well thought of and I know Union Berlin made an enquiry that was rejected for family reasons, but a transfer to the UK at this time would be very complicated, although potentially possible.}

Interesting. If it happened, it would be like a Elliott/ Sepp kind of signing from last summer imo. A couple of years playing with the u23s and gradually blending into the first team squad.

Hi ed01 and ed02

Any idea what the plan is for Nat Phillips? Will he be sold or another loan?

I don't see his name being mentioned with the potential Lovren replacements so I figure the club's view is that he isn't part of the plans?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I very much expect another loan.}

can I ask how good Nat Phillips has been on loan, And if Lovren left would he be ok to fill in as 4th choice cb.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is a good question but Klopp has not been looking for a 4th choice CB - he has been looking at a starter. NP has done well and is well liked - but it may be time to look elsewhere.}

shame ed002 I think Gomez is a top cb and hopefully he will stay fit and if they play him cb am sure that would help. If we could get rid of lovren and replace him with Nat Phillips that helps with homegrown if we get a transfer fee helps with money as does the massive difference there would be on wages.

Hi Ed's do you think Brewster will get a chance now Werner is not an option? Looking good for Swansea, and home grown.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - The HG issue is not relevant to Brewster at this time as he is only 20. The issue is whether a full season playing at, say, Swansea would do him better than cameos at Liverpool.}

22 Jun 2020 15:48:53
I think a full season at Swansea could be the making of him, he’s showing that he can get goals and he’s got the manager’s confidence.

yeah I think a season loan would be better for him still getting over his injury. Ed002 I would love him to go to Germany on loan as it is not as intense as the championship but a lot more technical what I think would suit him more I think RB Leipzig are looking for a new forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - He won't be going to RBL. They have well defined targets and are in discussions already.}
