Is it only me, but I feel Danny Ings is getting his first start at the Everton game.

I wouldn't be surprised at that as Everton will be up for it, I wouldn't risk any of our main men at Goodison not in between the CL QF. Remember their fans were glad when City beat them in 13/ 14.

If he does start he'll score. We've all seen him the last 10 minutes of games and he's been so close, give him a full 90 minutes and he'll find the net no problem, I'd love to see him start against Everton.

Last time we played Everton and saved some key players, half the site wanted Klopp gone for not playing the best players available in a Derby match.

If we start a weakened team at Everton then that means we are putting our CL hopes before that of top 4. 3 points dropped against Everton at that stage of the season could prove to be costly. I'd love the CL trophy but going out in a CL quarter/ semi or losing finalist and finishing 5th would be a step backwards for us with not having CL football next season. Just my opinion though.

Well said Jayden and partly agree but I would say that playing Ings and possibly resting Bobby or one of our top 3 is what a squad is for, every game we have left could be decider of if we finish in the top 4 or progressing / being put out of CL and unlikely we will have used only 11 players between now and end of May.

They are a dirty team when it comes to us. every time we play them they are always trying to take out our best players ( and usually succeed with at least one) at least Barkley is gone, he was one of their worst offenders.

It really depends on the result of the first match with City. I don't see Klopp resting much players, but 1-3. Firmino is desperate for a rest, yes he may be fit all the time but his body will appricate a rest.

I've been reading a lot about the effect of Robert Lewandowski's potential transfer to Madrid. Apparently, they are very keen on Firmino as a replacement. I can't see it happening myself but maybe one to look out for during the Summer.

More likely they will sign Werner in my opinion.

If there is no buy out clause in his contract they simply can't afford him.

I agree with mk. Bayer have done it for years. Not just taking the best talent from within Germany but taking from teams and making them weaker as such.

I think they’d go for Werner as well. Bobby is staying out, he loves it here.

Bayern isn't a selling Club. They haven't let anybody go that the didn't want to as they don't need the Money. If you look at the outs of the recent years youll see that bayern haven't sold any of their starting 11 players (Kroos was in and out the starting 11) so i don't think they will start doing it now.

We need that piano teeth smile in our team!

I won't be surprised if Lewandoski leaves. He's 29. Last chance for a massive contract and he may think he has a better chance of winning the Champions League with Ronaldo in his team.
However, I think Bayern will go for Werner and not Firmino. Werner is more of a traditional striker than Firmino and that fits more with Bayern's style.

So far Salah hasn't stayed at a club for more than 2 seasons. Now hopefully he has found his spiritual home. However I think we need to win the league next year or forget it until we rebuild after he leaves.

Champions league might not be enough to keep Salah! He used to get it regularly at Roma and the club he intends to move is Real! We have to win that League.

Perssonally I don't even think that would retain a player if Real or Barcelona came calling, although I think joning Real now wouldn't be such a great move as they seem to have gone downhill a little.

Agree7 Disagree6

22 Mar 2018 11:21:01
Nah if we won the league it would definitely have a major affect on our ranking as a top club. Win the league in England where there are many teams that can win the league, coupled with the fact Klopp is the manager and you could play alongside Keita, Van Dijk, Firmino, Mane and Salah? Players would want to come and our top players would want to stay if we payed them for doing so well.

I wonder if Real would even have such a pulling power for Salah given he is Egyptian not South American. Personally don't see why they have such power anyway, they are nothing special nowadays and they play in a boring league.

Agree2 Disagree7

Players leave. That's what they do. Some stay for a year or two. Some for a few years.

Neymar left Barca. Messi would leave them also, in a heartbeat, if they did not pay him a king's ransom. They even pay his dad a king's ransom.

Ronaldo threatens to leave Real every year.

Even Gerrard wanted to leave, to join Mourinho at Chelsea.

So yes, Salah will leave.

But not yet. Not yet.

They're nothing special but they've won the champions league 3 times since 2013 whilst we've won. oh yeah we haven't lol. But we are on our way up it seems and that's what matters.

Salah is so well-received in Liverpool the hero worship alone will convince him to stay for a while. Seems like someone you want around your club and city. got to offer him good money to keep him but we seem to be doing well financially at the moment.

And with the team they have they won't be winning it again anytime soon.

Salah is a phenomenal player, but a big part to his success this year is down to the system we play and what Bobby Firmino does to create space. If he went to Madrid he would not be the focal point and would not do anywhere near as good as he is doing this season.

Not sure if I agree Amerigo. Generally speaking think if a player wants to go they will go irrespective of how much cash you can throw at them.

Unless it's a greed thing I can't see Salah or Fermino wanting to move for a few years (or unless klopp leaves), we play exactly to their strengths allowing them to stand out. If they went to Barcelona or Madrid they would play second fiddle to their superstars.

I hope so, Firmino is a magician and is sometimes outshone by the obvious brilliance Salah shows each week.

Out of our front 3 i would say that Bobby would be the most likely to want to stay with us i get the feeling he loves playing for us and Klopp.

Mo Salad will eventually play for one of the big 2 in Spain i think and if our main Mane started to consistantly shine again i think he would be a goner too sadly.

As a club i think we need a sustained period of success before that will stop.

I hope im wrong though and their form continues, they stay and propel us to that period of success and become heros in the city for the red side anyway. Stay here for the rest of their lives get old and fat, Bobby runs for mayor and beats dodgey Joe in a landslide victory (who is still going somehow still phoning the bizzies over boom boom Barkley) whilst Mane and Mo host talk shows on lfc tv and remember their glory days on that historic Anfield grass.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Mar 2018 23:38:44
I don't think anything will ever stop the pulling power of the big 2 in Spain. They have always been able to prize away top talent from the biggest clubs. (Ronaldo/ Beckham/ Henry etc. ) There are other draws that make them more appealing other than just how good and successful they are. One huge one being the fact if you were offered the same job in London/ Manchester/ Liverpool or in Madrid/ Barcelona, which cities and country would you prefer.
The only thing we can do is get to the top and be a club players find it very hard to leave and a club other players don't turn down so that when the eventual bids for our superstar player of the time comes and they do leave, we are in a better position to buy top class players with the money.

Agree0 Disagree0

How can you say they won’t win it any time soon when they have the funds and pulling power to land any player? They will fix their problems in the summer. And I wouldn’t write them off in this years CL either.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gotta start paying similar wages to our top players as other team does. How a player like Firmino can have under 90k a week, when you see what other players earn these days is beyond ridicoulous.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - only ridiculous if the player expects more. If the player is happy, then it is irrelevant.}
