Ok thanks for reply

I really really hope we haven't! Just not good enough by a long way. If he was then with the shortage of centre backs England has he would be in the squad for the world cup not the reserve list!

How many 22 year old CBs (besides Coates) make their national team for the World Cup? In a comparison posted by ThisisAnfield: The statistic that stands out with Caulker is the fact that he has not made a single error leading to a goal all season. While that’s impressive enough if you’re playing for a top four team, to do it in a side that has been relegated is almost unheard of.

He could very well go on to play for England for the next 8-10 seasons. Remember he was at Tottenham before Cardiff, and also know that he scored 5 goals this season and made almost 2 blocks a game. He would make a great signing for less than 10

Phil Jones is a 22 year old centre back in the England squad who has had a shocking season. I appreciate these stats that you've quoted but his team ended with a -42 goal difference. Their strikers are also at fault for that but it's not a great target.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - those stats are crap anyway, what are they defining as an error? Stats are just nonsense, they are used by people to defend idiocy and make it seem like intelligence more often than not. Hence why they are being used to make Caulker seem like a good signing when anyone actually bothering to watch would have seen he is simply not good enough defensively.}

Great to see you back ed 001
what do you think of lovren as a player?and also do you see us making an increased offer for him

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I rate Lovren very highly, I do expect us to push a little further to sign him.}

Have to agree with Rd001, I just don't see why people are raving on about Caulker, I just can't see it. He simply isn't good enough. I would imagine that Lovren is preferred by BR hence the offer to Southampton. I would be stoked with a Lovren/ Sakho pairing.

Agree2 Disagree0

Agree completely ed. The stats are a load of bull and like you say used to make someone look good when really that's not always true. Lovren would be my preferred signing of the names we are seeing mentioned daily and he is still only 24. I think Caulker would be more suited to a team like hull but he's not champions league material.

{Ed002's Note - I suspect whatever has been said relates to the period since January.}

Hello Eds and fellow Reds! It's been a while.

Just read on the french eurosport App that Liverpool would be after Domenico Criscito (Zenith), Serge Aurier, (Toulouse) and Bernard (Shaktar).

Just passing on the information as I haven't read about it elsewhere.

{Ed002's Note - Fiorentina have held discussions about Criscito whilst they decide on Alonso's future - and Inter are interested. He is a left back so maybe Liverpool are interested - but I don't know of any. Arsenal has approached Toulouse about Serge Aurier and there is interest from Monaco and PSG. Toulouse will look to hang on to the player. Again I don't know of any interest from Liverpool. Bernard has identified clubs he would like to move to but Liverpool was not on the list and I know of no interest from the club at this time.}

Eds, with Bojan Krkic not happy at Barcelona, reports suggest that Liverpool FC are moving closer to signing this player. Do you know more this?

Believable6 Unbelievable35

{Ed002's Note - Bojan is a player Liverpool has shown interest in over the past two years but loans to Italy did not go well. A loan to Ajax was not great either. The player has said he wants assurances or the chance to move on, ideally back to Italy. I don't know if Liverpool are "close" to signing him or not.}

I think this player was exposed as hype and little productivity when he was at Roma, Ajax and let's be honest, the kid did nothing for Barcelona in over 100 games, maybe 20 goals at that. Not impressed by the lad, think he's light weight and hasn't physically developed enough.

But, as always if he was bought signed and played for Liverpool F.C then i'll support him and hope to heck he proved me wrong. But I much further rate Borini than Bojan and think Borini worked his butt off at Sunderland playing anywhere and everywhere he was asked to, great attitude and is coming back from a decent and intense loan period. Imo.

Agree0 Disagree0

He looked decent at Roma under Enrique. But I rate Borini more than Bojan for sure.

Hey Eds! Apparently Liverpool and Arsenal have inquired about Loic Remy. Any confirmation of this?

Believable8 Unbelievable10

{Ed002's Note - QPR have said they have not given permission for any club to talk to the player and Arsenal has denied they have spoken with him.}
