Ed is Rafa silva still of interest or on way to benfica.

Believable1 Unbelievable10

{Ed002's Note - Braga's Rafa Silva has been of interested to Benfica, Everton, Southampton, Wolfsburg and Schalke for a number of months. Arsenal, West Ham, Real Betis, Marseille and Spurs have had him watched but to the best of my knowledge not enquired further at this time. Notably, Liverpool, Barcelona and Manchester United have watched in a number of games this season and made it known they are interested. Bayer Leverkusen and Benfica have a declared interest. Braga will be looking to a summer auction and hoping the interest from these clubs will lead them to make substantial offers.}

Apparantly Jaan Aarga Fjortoft has said that after a phone call from Ancelotti, Goetze decided to stay and has told Klopp and Dortmund he won't join them. Like Jaan would no anything!

Personally not arsed if he comes or not. I want players in the team that want to play for this great club and make us successful again. not some money grabbing sods who use us as a stepping stone. Atleast the majority of the players we have now are giving there all.

Jesus Christ we're embarrassing ourselves here.
Gotze's offer to come to Liverpool was probably equal if not bigger than the one he's currently on at Bayern. He is not 'money-grabbing' by staying put. in fact he misses out on any potential signing on fee which would have been significant.

he has merely been given assurances he is in Ancelloti's plans and wants to stay to fight for his place in one of the biggest teams in world football. I'm gutted but the kid has not run off to China for a pay packet or anything.

He felt he was not in Bayern/ Ancelloti's plans and we were an alternative. However once he's been told by one of the greatest managers in the world he does feature in his plans if he stays put at what is the club he grew up supporting and the powerhouse of German football, he'd be money-grabbing not to stay, wouldn't he?

A player turning down Bayern for Liverpool shouldn't be a shock.

24 May 2016 01:14:46
Never cared for him to begin with and donot want him here.

I'd of liked him with us but no big deal. Good luck to the lad like.

Hope you eds are all well!

I didn't want this guy joining us anyway, so I won't shed a tear over it.

24 May 2016 16:05:04
Given that Ed002 has mentioned several times that Bayern are royally pissed off with him, and that I doubt even "one of the greatest managers of the World" would lock horns with both Rummenigge and Hoeness before settling into his new office, I'm going to stick with my perception that this "staying at Bayern" stance is just manoeuvring by Gotze to get the best possible scenario for him to exit gracefully.

I can see a scenario where his ex-agents suggested he accept a lower than expected offer and wages (from whoever), and Gotze deciding to get rid of the agents and putting on a sulk and "staying" (this is just aimless pondering on my part) .

Afternoon Eds,

Croatian press are today linking us with Ante Coric of Dinamo Zagreb. Is there any interest from LFC that you are aware?

Appreciate your time as always

All the best

A-P.

Believable1 Unbelievable13

{Ed002's Note - Ante Coric (of Dinamo Zagreb) is destined for an excellent career if he doesn't move too early - but Chelsea, Real Madrid, Spurs and Manchester City are very keen.}

23 May 2016 15:09:33
Really appreciate your reply.

Thank you, have a good day.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

He looks a very talented player.

Ed it seems thst Dohoud is prefered over Zielinski now, is that the case?

Believable1 Unbelievable11

{Ed001's Note - seems so, though it may be just because of the difficulties of the signing following all the flirting Klopp did with him very publicly.}

23 May 2016 13:04:18
Without extensive knowledge of either player, Dahoud appears to be better than Zielinski anyway and will probably cost more.
Do the Eds have any info or opinion on who is the better player/ fit?
Thanks.

Agree1 Disagree10

{Ed001's Note - I have not seen Dahoud so can't compare them sorry.}

23 May 2016 13:33:36
I would guess that Dahoud is more ready to force his way into the starting 11 than zielinski, and if the money was available dahoud would be most people's first choice.

Agree5 Disagree8

23 May 2016 14:41:46
Ed would Monchengladbach really sell Dahoud? They've just lost two first choice midfielders already.

Agree0 Disagree10

{Ed002's Note - Borussia Monchengladbach have rejected an approach from Spurs about the availability of Mahmoud Dahoud who came to their attention whilst scouting Granit Zhaka earlier in the season. Whilst the club remain firm that he will not be leaving, Dortmund have made an approach to Monchengladbach as they view Dahoud as a possible replacement for Gundogan who will be leaving in the summer. Manchester City has also had the player watched this season and when the issue was raised with the Eberl he re-iterated that the player will not be sold. Juventus has made an enquiry. I am not aware of any declared interest in the player from Liverpool.}

23 May 2016 14:48:35
Dahoud is still quite raw though given his age. Probably has a lot more potential than zielinski but is he even a defensive midfielder? Because apparently he's regarded as one but xhaka was the defensive midfielder in the borussia team and a quality one at that. I wish we would target a player more in that mold. Dahoud kind of reminds me of can which is not a bad thing but we need a different sort of midfielder.

Agree2 Disagree9

23 May 2016 15:53:34
I would like to see a dm specialist rather than another b2b type, but it sounds very unlikely he'll be sold anyway.

Agree1 Disagree11

23 May 2016 16:02:59
I don't like to compare players, but Grujic is a bit like a less proven Xhaka. He and Dahoud could form a pretty good pair and along with Can and Henderson we would have strong midfield options.

Mainz goalkeeper Loris Karius is in Liverpool to undergo a medical.

Will he be seen as number 1 or are we buying him for the bench?

top of the morning to you eds.
its silly season again so were gona be inked with every tom dick and harry. reports tha we are linked with Lyon winger Rachid Ghezzal.
your thoughts on him please, many thanks.

Believable1 Unbelievable10

{Ed002's Note - Lyon's Rachid Ghezzal has been watched on several occasions this season by Arsenal's senior scout in France. PSG and Stoke City have both spoken with Lyon about the player but they have no interest in selling. If however a very large offer were to be made, that might change.}

23 May 2016 11:18:36
Liverpool are on the verge of doing a deal for Mainz goalkeeper Lorius Karius, according to ESPN.

Very excited guys about a #2 goalie!?

Agree6 Disagree22

{Ed091's Note - it's quite obvious he is going to be number 1. Are you okay? }

23 May 2016 12:50:13
The negativity of some people astounds me. Do you have a frigging crystal ball?

Agree0 Disagree9

24 May 2016 03:24:35
I understand Kurtzs question and I don't think it's obvious he is going to be no.1 goalie unless Migs leaves. I see them both competing preseason for the starting berth.

Agree1 Disagree2

24 May 2016 12:51:07
Annie - I would like to agree with you but I don't see a player leaving a club where he's an undoubted no.1 who's going to be playing European football next season to come and warm our bench. I think Karius might surprise people.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - He has come as a replacement for Bogdan and someone who can challenge Mignolet. It puts Liverpool in a strong position in having two goalkeepers that can be relied on - at least that is the view of Klipperty.}

23 May 2016 10:51:17
Interest in Ghezzal of Lyon being reported. Have we scouted him or is this likely just his agent trying to stir things up?

Believable1 Unbelievable11

23 May 2016 08:30:22
Mario Balotelli could be used as a part of deal by Liverpool to sign Lucas Biglia from Lazio.

Believable3 Unbelievable19

23 May 2016 15:31:40
So that's the first £5 covered off.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has no interest in Biglia.}
