Listen to all you miserable C*NTS "out with ROY" " NEws Conference tomorrow at 11a to sack Roy" none of you with the execption of a certain few have any idea what you are talking about so y not shut your mouths and support the team , you think its easy to bring in new players in n 4 positions and its just going to work, no it takes time i agree the younger lads deserve more time and all of you with your line ups next time the owners new or present are looking for a manager i am sure all you will get calls with your amazing talent finding skills and you magical lineups that will win us another title. As for owners i have no idea why any of you still try and figure out who its going to be if you have learned anything its that the board isn't going to say who the parties are so in the mean time support the club propper owners will be found and liverpool will return to what it once was whether King Kenny is manager or roy or jose or anyones else that's in the future so for god d*mn sakes support your team

Roy proved last night that you can't bring 11 young players through at once. they need to come through 2 or 3 at a time and need to be given a chance every now and again more and more reguarly as time goes by. Right now the ONLY youngster ready for first team football is Martin Kelly, and until January when roy might actually buy some decent wingers we need to play kelly at right-back and johnson on the wing to give us some real-width.
Also play dan agger! we all know he is waaay better than skrtel and needs to come in now.
now we are past alot of the harder games switch to a more creative 4-4-2 like this:

25 Reina

34 Kelly
23 Carragher
5 Agger
3 Koncheskey

2 Johnson
8 Gerrard
4 Meireles
10 Cole

9 Torres
18 Kuyt

Or we could do a 4-3-1-2 formation which i think would work very well:

25 Reina

2 Johnson
23 Carragher
5 Agger
3 Koncheskey

4 Meireles
28 Poulsen
8 Gerrard

10 J.Cole

9 Torres
18 Kuyt

"Because part of him agreeing to sign for us was us promising to play him in a more central role."
"How in the world would you know, did you help him sign his name on the dotted line. . common."

Errm, how about that's what Hodgson said at interview, it's what Cole said at interview and it's what Cole's agent released to the press. The fact you didn't know this displays to me that you pay absolutely no attention. It's hardly a secret after all.

Liverpool to sign owen in january and agger to juventus, aguero to be signed in summer when take over is finally completed in january at earliest and if results don't improve hodgson will be leaving when takeover is completed and torres will be leaving in summer if liverpool don't make champions league.

Roy out when new owners takeover - owners to bring in their own man with the lure of cash to spend.
Trust me its true

I think its probable Hodgson knew this when he took the job. But he has always wanted to manage Liverpool. He probably will become the next England manager and could possibly have a clause written into his contract allowing release from Liverpool if the FA want him to replace Capello.
Yes, the past few weeks have been 'difficult' in terms of results and league position but I believe Hodgson to be a genuinely decent man, who along with the team are been strangled by the talk surrounding off field takeover activities.

Just to support what Chris and the Ed have been telling you fantasy fans about sugar daddy sheiks:- Dubai International Capital (DIC), which is the investment arm of Dubai Holding, a conglomerate owned by the ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rasid al Maktoum, announced it has secured agreement with its six lending banks to push back the repayment of the debt from June until September. I hate to think what will happen if DIC does an H&G and defaults. .DIC is EXACTLY the same as LFC. Has no money to invest because it's too busy paying off its debts. MikeG

I AGREE. BUT I THINK SOME POSTERS ON THIS SITE SEEM TO BE SUGGESTING THAT SHEIKH MOHAMMED WOULD ATTEMPT TO BUY LIVERPOOL ON HIS OWN. I.E NOT USING THE DIC ROUTE.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
When Sheikh Mohammed tried to buy LFC a 2nd time in 2008-2009 he was using his own personal wealth and not DIC. So i think it would be fair to say IF he was interested now he would be going it alone.

EXACTLY. HIS PERSONAL WEALTH IS £18BN - NOTHING TO DO WITH DIC.

There is no point doing post mortem on last night's loss. But we need to learn from defeats of such magnitude . If we do so? Am sure we ll come back hard against the black cats . And by learning I mean, we need to start doing our homework on the opposition. I doubt we seem to be getting it right here.
Take the man city game for eg. Our formation was a shocker. And dint change as the game went by.
What I liked with the united game is we closed down the effect of scholes and fletcher really well.
And each team can be stopped by strategising this way.
Close down darren bent, danny wellbeck.

Other things to learn are -
Glen johnson isn't fit to be in our back 4. Play him at right wing. Maxi has been conspicuous by his absence in the games he has played.
Play shelvey more for god sake. Wilshere is playing regularly !
Give babel a chance to lay off torres. Or pacheco. And I mean 60 min atleast depending on form.
Play jovanovic in a similar role. Cos the guy jus doesn't get crosses in cos he dislikes it. Instead he runs around with pace and more in the centre rather than the flanks.
Play agger! He was better off last night.
Come on guys . Thrash sunderland 4-0.
Gerrard brace.torres one. Cole or meireles or babel one.

Lets blow our head off in our support for the team .
Go reds!

Breathtaking PHOENIX

Red for life!

Ed . Your thoughts welcome. {Editor's Note.....Well said mate. Many agree about Johnson. BTW, why not check the Banter box because the rumours page was originally only about that. We set up Banter for opinions etc..}

Reports today from the Financial Times is that RBS are prepared to extend the loan repayment date. It says they could extend it until new owners are found IF this article is true then October 6th deadline is now redundant just like you said ED.

Blair Mayne YNWA

{Editor's Note: I never expected any miracles on October 6 or October 11. RBS certainly do not want to own a football club, so they will be looking for (a) interest payments to be made on time, and (b) the capital figure to be repaid.}

Would love to have Kenny Dalglish manage the team again, after all he still has some unfinished business at Liverpool.

Alan Hansen and Ian Rush to assist as they both have a lot to offer and are highly regarded amongst the fans.

I'm sorry, but what would Alan Hansen offer LFC at this point in time? I'd prefer old Pinnochio back tbh, proven track record as a bootroom assistant!

Db9 spoke of Tom Hicks at 23 Sep 2010 09:56:03:

". . .he has defaulted on every loan he ever had. . . i think the term is blacklisted"

Could you provide something to substantiate this statement?

Sharkey.

ok sharkey il hold my hands up to that, i can't go on record to say he defaulted every loan he's had, but his buisness history suggests that every sporting institution he has dipped his finger in has, or nearly has gone bust.
with corinthians he had to resign from the board following financial issues, at texas rangers they went bust, the dallas stars were close to going bust and our beloved club, well i don't need to outline any issues which we have. . .
if i were the banks i wouldn't piss on his eyebrows if they were on fire, nevermind give the **** cold hard cash. . .

{Editor's Note: He has made no secret of his desire to get out of the sporting business - which is good for the club.}

I realise this is a long shot but if after the recent and ongoing criticism from various parties towards the BBC Match of the day programme leads to future changes in the programme and possible changes in presenting and analysis personnel, does anybody see a role at Liverpool for Alan Hansen. After all he was offered the Liverpool Manager job when Kenny left in 19991 because he Knee injuries had finally caught up with him. He turned the job down allegedly for many of the reasons given by Kenny i.e the pressure and the personal upset he felt about Hillsborough. Possibly not as Manager but perhaps something above that, because he was and is seen to be one of the more intelligent and well read former footballers (but not on world football according to Stan Collymore). {ed's note - I did ask him a few times when he was watching the stiffs play, he was adamant that he did not want to get involved. He didn't want the stress and who can blame him?}

I WAS GENERALLY LOOKING AT A ROLE ABOVE COACHING DUTIES (AMBASSADOR/ DIRECTOR ETC). I BELIEVE HANSEN HAS MANY GREAT QUALITIES. BUT I THINK IF THE MOTD FORMAT WAS CHANGED, HE WOULD KEEP HIS JOB AND PROBABLY THE LAZY LINEKER (WHO ADMITS NOT TO PARTICULARLY BEING INTERESTED IN FOOTBALL, HE JUST LIKED PLAYING) WOULD LOSE THE PRESENTING ROLE. IF HANSEN DID LEAVE THE BBC, HE WOULD EASILY BE SNAPPED UP BY ITV OR SKYSPORTS.

Sick of hearing about takeovers and millions being available for transfers.nobody in their right mind would buy the club at the moment.it is not a good investment.too much money needed to buy the club, too much money needed to invest in the club, anybody thinks we have a good first team should be sectioned immediatley! and too much money to build a new stadium.not much change from 800 million at least.in the current climate nobody is going to invest that sort of money for little return unless some rich arab prince wants a new toy for a couple of years and that probably won't happen either!we have to accept that we will be in this mess for some time to come and stop getting delusional that everything will be fine in a couple of weeks.this football club is like my crappy ford escort, it might be for sale but i have no chance of finding a buyer unless i give it away

Kelly has been impressive in his other outings and that's why people have backed him to be a good player. Those who know about football have agreed playing him away to utd is not the time or place. But given time there is potential to become a good player.

Agreed on Spearing, he will make a living in the Championship hopefully. However (and even more so after last night) Shelvey should now be given the oppurtunities a younger Jay Spearing wasnt

So selling Steven or Fernando was never an option?

"It's certainly not something we would have ever wanted to do. You used the phrase 'moving players diplomatically on' which sounds as if we wanted to get rid of Fernando and Steven. Anybody who knows me, who knows Roy or who knows the club will know that nothing could be further from the truth. Any conversations that were had were stressing the absolute vital importance of those players - and others - to our future and to our plans and why they remain so central to what we're doing.

"Let's be honest, if you'd believed half of what you read in May about who would be leaving and who wouldn't. . then most of that didn't come to fruition. I'm absolutely thrilled and delighted that it didn't and that those fantastic players still grace our team today."

Does anyone get any comfort from the above response from Purslow? Surely the correct answer should have been 'Absolutely not under any circumstances'.

To me it looks like player sales (any players) are a distinct possibility.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum

As the Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, the ruler of Dubai and one of the world's richest men, the Sheikh is, it would be fair to say, a powerful individual. He was not 100 per cent behind DIC's original bid to buy Liverpool and was instrumental in pulling the plug on the deal, but this time, critically, he is said to be 100 per cent committed to the new bid.

Priority

To add England's most successful football club to DIC's impressive portfolio. THIS ONE 2 . .YNWA

{Editor's Note: You seem to be copying some ancient news source. DIC are not involved with any bid for Liverpool.}

Sameer al-Ansari

Like many of the overseas players who have signed for the club over the past decade, the Kuwait-born, British-educated chief executive of DIC talks up his credentials as a Liverpool fan. He was in the crowd when Liverpool lifted the European Cup in Istanbul in 2005, when the seeds of DIC's original takeover bid were sown, and was distraught when he was gazumped by Hicks and Gillett. He is determined to succeed this time.

Priority

To become a significant player in the Anfield boardroom. FOUND THIS ON WEB SITE YNWA

{Editor's Note: This is by no means current. It says "....chief executive of DIC..." which is incorrect - he left DIC months ago.}

To Toby,
Nice idea but there are a few problems with it. Firstly, LFC shares are not publically traded so we could not buy them unless the sellers wanted to sell to us. It takes two to tango. IF they would not sell to us there would be an account with loads of readies in belonging to the global LFC fans. . they might want it back which would be difficult to sort out I think. I would suggest that we buy ManU instead and sack SAF, sell rooney etc and buy the Northamton team. Then let's see them get that 19th title from division two.
Finally, on the bank idea why not just set it up as a Ltd company fronted by a few ex players to give it creability and do it through RBS. Shows RBS the depth of feeling and they get some interest as well?

I agree with the post relating to a number of potential bidders biding their time to get the best price. Interestingly, Purslow was quoted yesterday saying "The issue today is that too much of our profit is being used to service loans, interest costs and bank charges. Can we afford to meet them? Just about. We are dealing with that issue. When we sell the business that debt will be reduced or go away which will make us the most profitable club in the Premier League." That would make us an attractive buy at the right price. He also said "There are a small number of potentially-interested parties working seriously and privately, doing due diligence, looking at the business in detail from a financial and legal standpoint" . I have believed that for a while and still do. As long as the books are ok then I would expect one of them to make a bid when H&G are desperate.
Keep the faith!

Great, but nobody will give you money to your account unless they know for 100% fact where its going. It could be your own personal account number you're giving out so unless we see this account number on LFC TV or Purslow / Broughton give it out you'll recieve nothing i reckon.
Is that fair enough do ya think and what do you propose to do to clear that worry up?
But other than that i admire your pro-active stance.

To whoever posted this:
"Roy out when new owners takeover - owners to bring in their own man with the lure of cash to spend.
Trust me its true"

How can you possibly know this when you don't know who the new owners will be? This is pure conjecture. The question for new owners will be whether they buy into Roy's plans (literally), whether they have confidence in him (probably) and whether there is anyone else who they think is better AND available (questionable).

My personal opinion of this takeover saga is that there are few potential buyers and they believe they can drive the price down by waiting until the RBS loan is up for renewal, or even later. Hicks is desperately trying to get new financing to keep the price up as he could face being cleaned out otherwise.

I think the club will be sold shortly before (if there are a few bidders) or after (if there are only one or two bidders) the RBS deal is up.
