Macca, if you are reading this, anything new on benzema mate? Or any other striker? I reckon every top club will have atleast 3 good strikers.

Just out of interest i am wondering who you would prefer to win the league

The Scum or Torres?

Bel = Scum
Unbel = Torres

{Ed002's Note - Sure but it will be a battle with Genoa and possibly Napoli for his signature.}
***************************
Ed002, the above statement shows exactly what I am talking about. Common seriously!

Matuidi rated at 8m - we would battle with Napoli & Genoa???? Mate you confusing us with the other team in Liverpool ;-)

{Ed002's Note - Think from another perspective. How about I said "sure Liverpool will sign him" whilst I know very well that there is interest from both Napoli and Genoa who have gone as far as to discuss a potential move with St-Etienne? Would you rather I held off on telling anyone what I know?}

Dude give it a rest! ! how don't you know that the player wouldn't prefer a diffrerent league to the EPL! ! there may be other factors like weather or definate first team football etc that keep players away at the end of the day you are being very childish and are showing yourself up and letting us all know how poor your football knowledge really is!

Daryll

{Ed002's Note - Some folks simply do not want to hear the truth.}

24 Apr 2011 20:28:16
Apparently, Charlie Adam's agent was at Anfield on Thursday and Gary Cahill's on Friday. .

24 Apr 2011 20:19:13
So, Ed002, if I hear you correctly, the following players are extremely unlikely to no-chance at all:

CENTRE BACK: Subotic,

LEFT BACK: Coentrao, Cissokho,

WINGERS: Sanchez, Mata, Hazard, Griezmann, Robben

MIDFIELD: Pastore, Sahin, Eriksen, Banega, Lamela, Goetze

FORWARD: Aguero, Neymar, Hulk, Lukaku, Benzema

{Ed002's Note - Obviously you are trying to put words in to my moth, some of the above there is zero chance of, some near zero, some practically none and one or two a remote or slight chance.}

So in yer opinion our signings will likely come from these:

CENTRE BACK: Sakho, Cahill, Dann, Rolando

LEFT BACK: Enrique, Baines, Izaguirre, Wendt,

WINGERS: Elia, Marveaux, Payet, Young,

MIDFIELD: Defour, M'Vila, Sissoko, Adam,

FORWARDS: Horoa, Toivonen, Gervihno,

Is this correct, Ed002? I have compiled this based on your responses.

Cudroe {Ed002's Note - No I have never said that the signings will come from this list. This is you putting words in to my mouth - or rather fingers. When asked, I have given an honest and fair opinion on a case-by-case basis of the chance of these players joining Liverpool if the opportunity arose. There will be other signings who have never been mentioned that could well be making the move in the summer. Additionally, a few of these players have not been asked about for some time. May I ask whay you have done this? But it is nice to know that someone is keeping score.}

How much truth is there to the adel taraabat and leighton baines rumors ed? because i think they would be great signings {Ed002's Note - I don't see Taarabt going too close to Comolli although he is playing very well and may be a target. I see no reason why Baines could not join.}

Ed I was half listening to the radio this morning and they were discussing the football stories in today's newspapers and I heard the name of a player who, I must admit, I'd forgotten all about. Jeffersen Farfan, could he be an option for us? I believe he's having a good season for Schalke. Have we been linked with him? What's your take

Chris in Tamworth {Ed001's Note - we have been linked with every player having a good game at any point in the summer, Farfan being one of them. Unfortunately I don't have much in the way of contacts in the German game and none in the Rurh region to find out much about him or our interest. The only thing I have been able to find out is that he is likely to leave in the summer and they are open to offers for him.}

I just called my mate to ask about farfan.He says that liverpool are aware of his availability but no interest has been registered.A.Young remains the priority for the wing.
But he is quite confident pablo piatti of almeria is been scouted by liverpool(maybe as the 2nd/ 3ed winger).Ed is this piatti gut any good?I know he'd be cheap as almeria are going down this season.

{Ed002's Note - I don't know much about the player. My notes say over-hyped by agent and over-valued by club. Everton, Roma, Atletico Madrid, Liverpool (last year) and Fiorentina have shown an interest.}

hmmmmm. .maybe the interest is back as the value of the player decreases with almeria going down.

24 Apr 2011 17:57:34
Gary Cahill has been terrific in defense that defended the bombardment of Arsenal for the entire 2nd half. Just don't come and disagree if you havent seen the game. He'd be a great buy. (A bit overpriced, I agree but not overrated for sure)

24 Apr 2011 17:24:40
Ed Is there still interest in Adam Barton from Preston?

Square tomato {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any I am afraid.}

"In France, all the figures prove that the
player who wins the most possession at
the feet of his opponents is Blaise Matuidi
, " Comolli told the News of the World. "That
is an extraordinary strong point. When the
team plays high, it means a goal chance."

Looks as if Comolli rates Matuidi very highly
And Liverpool never replaced Masch, I think
He would would be a class signing if we
Can get him. .Ed any chance of signing him?

{Ed002's Note - Sure but it will be a battle with Genoa and possibly Napoli for his signature.}

This is not a rumour . . just an observation as I sit watching the Bolton v Arsenal game.
Daniel Sturridge has just scored for BWFC and is having a good game so far. He's scored 7 in 9 games at Bolton and, at just 21 and English, very much fits into the Club's stated vision.
Conor Wickham is being touted around the Sports pages as a possible £15m target for LFC, Spurs etc. yet he's unproven at Premiership level, doesn't seem to be particularly prolific and seems to be vastly over-priced for someone who may not "make it".
At least Sturridge has proven credentials and I can't see him costing much more than Wickham. . . I'm also assuming he's only on-loan at BWFC (I could be wrong. . in which case they probably wouldn't sell).
ANFIELDPETE {Ed002's Note - Sturridge is not intended to be for sale in the summer, but no doubt a high bid could tempt Chelsea.}

In a recent article on a site I will not name, it said Commoli is looking at bringing in up to 11 new faces, shipping out a similar number.

Out:
Jovanovic 3m
Kygiakos 1.5m
N'gog 4m
Poulson 2m
El Zhar 2m
Konchesky 2m
Insua 5m
Aquilani 14m
total = 33.5m

Ins:
One left back out of:
Enrique ( 10m) Clichy ( 11m) Cissokho ( 8m)

One centre back:
Gary Cahill ( 20m) Sakho ( 12m)

Two wingers:
Ashley Young ( 25m) Downing ( 10m) Bale ( 40m [unlikely, but he has a good relationship with Commoli and will want assurances the squad is moving places]) Marveux ( free [bosman])

One CAM:
Pastore ( 20m) Honda ( 13m)

On back-up striker:
Owen (free) Turan ( 17m)
total: Likely to be around 70m

YNWA! In Kenny and NSV we trust {Ed002's Note - Palermo have already said that if Pastore moves - which now seems very likely, they will be looking for 60M euro which is more than £50M.}

To the people saying we won't buy any1 good everybody knows we will and all the newspapers are saying we will i no newspapers arent always correct but they are on this

*Charlie Adam is crap* {Ed007's Note - A man after my own heart lol}

24 Apr 2011 16:42:42
I'm scouting Cahill, Sturridge and Lee.
They all been excellent so far against Arsenal.
*Lee looks lively on the wing.
*Sturridge got a goal.
*Cahill commanding in defense and got the assist.

"That's because we're all excited for this transfer window, as we all know it's gonna be our biggest in recent years.

Man U's biggest signing is gonna be a GK ;)

Stone YNWA."

De Gea will cost us £18m, not £30m ;).

Besides, we're can attract Sneijder, yous can't ;).

If king Kenny wants to get Liverpool back on track we need to sign 1 or 2 of these 4 players :
1. Neymar Da Silva - Santos
2. Alexis Sanchez - Udinese
3. Eden Hazard - Lille
4. Javier Pastore - Palermo

Ed would really like your thoughts on these players and chances of us landing them ???? {Ed002's Note - They are all very good players. There is no interest from Liverpool in any of them although Comolli did say he liked Hazard as a player. Chances are: 0, 0, 0.25, 1. I think you are being a little unrealistic.}

24 Apr 2011 15:55:10
E.D. any chance of signing Fabio Coentrao from Benfica

looks like Bayern are pulling out of any possible deal and turning there attention to Jose Enrique from what i've heard.

LFC'S MANGO

btw any other news on targets, in or out??

{Ed002's Note - Only a very slim chance.}

24 Apr 2011 14:16:13
Comolli was waxing lyrical in the press about Blaise Matuidi today. Anyone think Matuidi will be Poulsen's replacement? Looks like Comolli is planning for either him or M'Vila for the role. Mind you, he could replace Poulsen with one of the statues off Crosby Beach and nobody would notice any difference.

24 Apr 2011 11:21:23
Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has a transfer shortlist including Bolton defender Gary Cahill, Everton left-back Leighton Baines and Aston Villa wingers Stewart Downing and Ashley Young after being told he has a £50m budget for next season. (News of the World)

Dalglish is planning "up to 22 deals" in and out of the club this summer as he looks to revamp his squad. Rennes winger Sylvain Marveaux is expected to be the first of many young arrivals, identified as talent that can be developed, when the transfer window reopens in June.

Bayern Munich will join Liverpool in attempting to prise full-back Jose Enrique away from Newcastle in the close-season.

24 Apr 2011 11:10:06
Ashley Young will sign for the Mancs. Im pleased about that personally would much prefer Albrighton or even Downing to Young, but there are other players who were being linked with that are better than the three of them

24 Apr 2011 10:52:35
ED
Do you think we should go for Odemwingie as a back up striker?
Probably cost less than 10 million

YNWA

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea. The problem is that a player has a couple of decent games and the Liverpool fans go overboard wanting him and getting PO when told that there is no interest.}

24 Apr 2011 09:56:45
Heard from a source close to the club that, Balasz Dzsudzsak, Ashley Young, Charlie Adam, Karim Benzema, Gary Cahill, Jose Enrique, Sylvain Marveaux and Nicolas Douchez will sign for LFC.

24 Apr 2011 09:38:48
Heard that we might be interested in Taarabt at QPR. Pete Kebab mentioned it as well Any truth in this Eds?? Great player but not so sure about his attitude myself. {Ed002's Note - I have no knowledge of who "Pete Kebab" is but it is clear that Taarabt has had a really great season at QPR and is meeting all of the high expectations that he was burdened with. Even if there is interest from Liverpool, and I don't know of any, I very much doubt that the player would wish to be associated with Damien Comolli again.}

24 Apr 2011 09:11:02
This is a question for ed001. I noticed that you don't think baines, taiwo , enrique are good enough for us so would you be of the same opinion as me and think we should go all out for Cissokho? And do you think he is good enough for us

Summer Ins

Cissokho-14m
Martinez-15m or
M, villa-15m
Payet-10m
Dsusdzak-13.5m
Hulk-25m or
Gervinho-13m

These would be my choices ed and wiv the quality that we would have on our squad we should be challenging for role next year as long as we get some decent signings .please post ed wiv ur response

{Ed002's Note - It is most unlikely we will see Ed001 until much later in the day, but I will let her know that you have left a question.}

Morning EDS

23 Apr 2011 13:08:13
Just been told from a customer of mine who's friends with the wigan athletic physio that if wigan get relegated that liverpool with push through a cheap deal for n'zogbia, he said we been tracking him for months. just what i been told thought i'd share it with you all. great site by the way ed. have u heard this by any chance {Ed001's Note - I hadn't heard that at all, I heard that Wigan refused to consider any interest in January and are still refusing to consider anything until the season is over. But that is all I know.}

Due to Anfield being sold out I accompanied my father to the Stadium of light to watch the Makems v the Latics. If we are tracking Nzogbia then we need some new scouts as the performance he gave yesterday was poor to say the least. Not one for us on yesterdays performance

{Ed002's Note - I don't know if Liverpool have much interest in the player but it should be remembered, regardless of how he played yesterday, that he has a lot of EPL experience and he provides versatility on the left hand side.}

24 Apr 2011 07:38:57
Maxi's importance to Liverpool is very important, hence he will not be leaving this summer.
Not only is he Suarez's best friend, but is a good backup as we saw against Birmingham.

PITSILFC {Ed002's Note - I am sorry but clubs are not going to foot £5M a year bills (wages, insurance etc.) for having player's "best friends" there to keep them company. If Maxi Rodriguez is not constantly knocking on the door of the first team, a younger player can provide the "back up" roll and he will be sold. He is in his 30s and can be used to generate funds for refreshing the squad. I certainly don't see him as "very important" to the club.]

24 Apr 2011 07:55:03
Just a thought and not really a rumour but i think we could do a lot worse than add freddie sears to our prime collection of youngsters, he's a talented kid and surely must be getting fed up of relegation battles, he could really flourish at liverpool. Like i say not a rumour but he is an excellent young player and i think in a couple of years he could be a top top prem player. Cracking site by the way, my first post so go easy eh? ed. please post in rumours as im keen to know what others think, i personally think kk wants a solid british base to his squad and players like sears are there to be had, playing consistent football outside of the limelight every week.

Daily telegraph story says that liverpool are planning 22 deals in and out and that if the right things happen we could make as many as 11 signings in the region of 19-24. Looking at a LB, CB, wide men and a striker.
tbh i think 11 would be too much unless they are youngsters.

LB: Baines, Cissokho, Enrique, Monreal, Izaguirre. .
CB: Cahill, Sakho, Rolando, Shawcross, . .
RW: Payet, Hulk, Gaitan, P.Hernandez, Gervinho. . .
LW: Young, Mata, Cazorla, Jeffren, Willian. .
ST: i think we need a goal poacher with pace-Falcao, Barrios ect
*+ Muniain*
Youngsters:
McArthy, Canales, Wickham. . .

Ladwig

ED thoughts on the telegraph story??? {Ed001's Note - nonsense, that would be madness to make that many signings, it would take a season for them all to bed in!}
