Quality player - but he only signed a contract extension with Napoli in May which runs until 2016 and they have champions league this year so don't see this happening in the near future...

It appears coates will be flying into liverpool tomorrow. Dann still a strong possibilty depending on his injury. Bellamy could still be a suprise signing. City to sign cahill after losing out on coates??

Coates=good deal

Bellamy=dead wood

Liverpool have worked hard to get rid of dead wood like Jovanovic and Konchesky. Why on earth then should Kenny bring in more dead wood like Bellamy?

No one was mentioning Bellamy till Macca said so. Now every dick, harry and his grandfather is posting that Bellamy could sign. clearly s***** lying liars.

Took this off the BBC site

Uruguay defender Sebastian Coates appears set to move to Liverpool after his club told BBC Sport they will make a decision this week.

The £12m-rated Nacional centre-back, 20, impressed in Uruguay's Copa America triumph in July and is keen to join compatriot Luis Suarez at Anfield.

"An offer arrived from Liverpool," said Nacional chief Daniel Enriquez.

"We will discuss the final details of the transfer and an announcement will be made soon."Coates set for Liverpool transfer"

He added: "It's an interesting offer and the player is interested in playing in English football and Liverpool seem like a proper club."

Ps. Sorry for pasting....

The offer has been accepted and he is travelling to the UK tomorrow, Editor of Ovacion/EL Pais about 30mins ago

Already been pasted, what a waste of time

ed,do you think a)nico krancjaer rumours are true?and b)do you feel he d provide the link,and invention between midfield and forwards that up to now seems lacking {Ed001's Note - no and no.}

No for a), Yes for b). I think he is just like Alberto Aquilani except fitter offcourse. However i see no point in getting him when we still have so many mids. If Aquilani was to stay, i would pick Aqua over Niko anyday!!!..

Steven gerrard is the link !!!

Kranjcar proved the other night at Old Trafford that he is nowhere near good enough for LFC... He gave away possession very cheaply on a few occassions, has no pace and certainly has no work rate.. Even Gary Neville said on Sky that he's played against him on numerous occasions and he never had any work rate... He is certainly no better than any midfielder we have except maybe Poulsen!

Macca / Eds - Could you provide any update re Coates? I heard he was to fly to Liverpool this evening - also have Manchester City lodged a bid?

Cheers

Jamie {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware City have placed no bid, my friend in the know there would have been desperate to tell me anyway so I think it means there hasn't been one, yet anyway. As far as I am aware it is personal terms being sorted out now, then medical, then he signs, obviously if terms are sorted and he passes a medical.}

How come sky have not realy got hold of any info on this. I would of thought that this far into things that they would of had a bit more info than they have put out?

Hi Ed001, Quick question on Coates, surely terms must have been discussed prior(even roughly) as it is a long way to travel with the risk of being miles away on this? Or maybe I am miles out???
John Wigan {Ed001's Note - not if they are hoping that other clubs will jump in if things fall through with us, or if they are intent on making overtures to other clubs while here. But yes, you would hope that the deal is close enough to make the travel worthwhile.}

hi guys,
after signing nasri what are the chances of having adam johnson,coates and dann out of 10?? {Ed009's Note - Coates? very likely. If he signs? Dann pretty unlikely. I can not see Johnson joining either, much as I would like it.}

{Ed009's Note - Trabzonspor will be the team to replace fellow Turkish side Fenerbahce in the Champions League group stage.}

I take it that Athletic Bilbao will get a bye in the Europa League then, ed?

They've been suspected as well!

So there goes UEFA not adhering to their own rules again.

It states that Fenerbahce shouldve been replaced by the highest ranked team in europe that has or is not involved in anyother european competition !!

UEFA ( Underhanded Executives & F***ing A**holes )

What a shame. Champs league football still a year away.
MIKEY

Arsenal could be in trouble then!

100% they will...

Regulation 1.07 A club which is not admitted to the competition shall be replaced by the next
best-placed club in the top domestic league championship of the same
national association, provided it fulfils the admission criteria. In this case, the
access list for the UEFA Club Competitions (Annex Ia) will be adjusted
accordingly.

Arsenal go through anyway, cant have 5 English teams in tourney so it is a moot point anyway.

Course you can have 5 teams in it, 2005? Fair enough Everton didn't qualify fully, but if they did UEFA wouldn't of just said no And I may be alone in this, but I think not being in the champions league could be a good thing, our squad gets a chance to know each other more, and next season, when hopefully we qualify in our own right and not due to some lucky rule, we can compete on all fronts and worry about europe
kenny2

Whoever said they wont look on sky sports and eat your own words lol

Course you can't have five teams from one league as a matter of fact! Due to the fact that Liverpool had to qualify as defending champions Uefa took the step of allowing 5 teams from the BPL to enter in 2005 only. They also amended the rule so that if the same situation was ever to arise again, the defending champions would take one of the qualifying spots available in their league, i.e. Chelsea finish fifth this year but win champions league, team in 4th place do not qualify. Considering 4 of the top ten teams in Europe are from the premier league there's a real possibilty of this happening, we'd better finish top three just to be on the safe side! Irish Kev

I'd sooner qualify because we deserve it than because of a loophole. Mind you, the money would have been handy to pay off Joe Cole's Sayers tab and Poulsens L'Oreal bill.

I don't see how any of you are understanding the rule...it requires the top placed team from the SAME domestic league as the team that is removed...hence Trabzonspor are the rightful replacements. I'm not a fan of UEFA or FIFA but to simply misunderstand the rule can lead to serious madness, lol.

Our only hope is that Trabz are also found guilty but its highly unlikely. I have mixed feelings for the final answer though, i am happy bcoz we have not earned the right to compete in CL but i am not happy at the club they have chosen, why Trabz, yes they are runners up but they were beaten by Benfica fair and square, how can they re-enter??, what about the clubs they beat until they were knocked out??. I think it should have either gone to us as we have highest placing or UEFA could stop being corrupt people and give it to a club that finished 1st in the league of a country which isnt well known but it is developing well.

On a side note, i can guarantee you that Mansour s**tty will finish 2nd in their group will go out of CL in the round right after group stages. Their opponents then will be a club that has won the CL more than 2 times(me thinks Inter)...

You guys are hilarious thank you for making me laugh... why should Liverpool a team that finished 6th in their domestic league last year be even quoted in the same breath as a replacement for a championship side in the champions league? Please explain this to me.

Typical next year football club antics. The deserving spot would, in my mind automatically go to a club from the same country as the removed party. At the end of the day its a European competition... not an English one!

Simon

hi eds i was wondering before kyrokos (spelling left) we were still linked with a defender now he has left shudnt we buy 2 center backs ? cheers {Ed009's Note - I think that Wilson may perhaps be the squad centre back that Kyriagkos was.}

24 Aug 2011 19:49:13
Ed do you think there's an outside chance we may sign Coates and Dann? Both are reasonably priced.
{Ed009's Note - I am afraid I can't see more than one centre back being signed, unless another one leaves, which is equally unlikely.}

24 Aug 2011 19:36:05
I have many contacts in the football world.
I have been told today that the signing of Nasri has made A.Johnson very uncomfortable and does not feel that the comments Mancini made at the start of the season were correct and feels he has gone against his word.
The 6 favourite players for midfield and strikers would be Toure, De Jong, Barry, Silva, Agureo and Tevez. Thats not including the likes of Milner, Ballotelli, NASRI, Dzeko, who have all figured in the first 2 games of the season.
Johnson will be at Anfield on tuesday next week to sign on the deadline day to force through a move.

SO NASRI played 2 games for city even before he signed! awsome xx

Many contacts in the football world ? haha, funny

Sign your post so we know where to send the champagne.
ANFIELDPETE

Posts like this make me feel sick. Eds should stop ridiculous posts like this!!
Rob

OH JESUS! Not another bloody last day of the window signing! Why do so many idiots say we're gonna sign someone we're not gonna sign "on the last day of the window"!

The guys obviously a bit mixed up, although it would not surprise me if there was some last minute dealings of some description, it would'nt be the first time lets just wait and see

I read the 1st line of your comment, and didn`t bother to read the rest. i have many contacts my backside. all your contacts and your on a tranfer rumour site. get back on your championship manager.

Be honest with you what you are posting is the Mind of Adam Jhonson not the mind of city or mancini. City will never let Adam join Liverpoll not in any cost as City know Liverpool is going to be top 4 in this year. and any top 4 team can win titel.

Only a few more days left of crap rumours like this and we can all get down to watching football.

I wish you were right contact man, but i bet your wrong.

Liverpool have this evening confirmed that Nabil El Zhar has completed his move to Spanish side Levante

dmedly

Confirmed about a week ago lad.

No, actually the CLUB only confirmed it tonight.

Funny, I saw the CLUB confirming it a WEEK ago

24 Aug 2011 19:24:17
To confirm sir maccas rumor I got a txt off a mate in the welsh fa saying we are definatly after Craig bellamey.

Realistic red

Why would the Welsh FA know where Bellamy is going?

Don`t want Bellamy. Total waste of money and place. Better go for Adam Johnson.

Oh and please learn to spell!

Lay off the lad on spelling, he hasn't started school yet...

Liverpool are trying to offload deadwood not sign them. Bellamy is player we won´t be able to sell if we get him. Why the hell should we do this kind of mistake again???

LFC for life

He is meant to be a free transfer so would cost nothing in that sense plus id rather have bellers than ngog as backup wouldnt need to recoup any money just let him go at the end of his contract

Sorry for my spelling. The iPhone isn't helpful. As for school, ur about 7 yrs to late.

Contact in the welsh fa said it's everywhere. Hear it off multiple sources. Wouldn't be bad option pace and experience.

Hey ed what is this im hearing that liverpool could be in champions league ds year if arsenal get trew tonite. In count of febernache correct my spelling,, gettin expeld and liverpool are the highest ranked team so that could open the door for us to go in... Plz plz reply ed or macca

Abbeyfeale red {Ed009's Note - As far as I know - and this should not be taken as the be all and end all truth by any means, as I have pieced it together from prior knowledge and patchwork prediction - the situation is this: When a team is unable to fulfill its requirement to play in the Champions League, the next place goes to the team with the highest coefficient, who aren't currently in Europe. This would perhaps rule out Spurs as they are already in the Europa League, and Liverpool would likely come above the third best Turkish team etc etc. That said, the situation has, as of yet, not remotely been clarified by UEFA.

Should Arsenal come through against Udinese tonight this point will be proved wholly anodyne - as only 4 teams from any country are permitted to play in the Champions League - but, if they don't, I suppose there is an outside - and I can't emphasise enough quite how small - chance of Liverpool taking up the place. I am certainly not getting my hopes up yet; leastways I am not even entirely sure I would like a place in the Champions League on such a farcical manipulation of the rules - I would like us to earn a place.}

I hope Arsenal goes through. It'd be honour to see us back in Champions league. But just like ed, i hope, we'd earn it. YNWA
Liverpool 4 Life.

Well, there have been 5 english teams before, but that was because we were the defending champions but finished fifth. I doubt we will get 5 teams again though.

Arsenal could get knocked out tonight and then b reinstated.....steve

The 4 team rule you have quoted Ed is incorrect as at the start of the 05/06 season we had 5 teams in the ECL ( LFC, Chelsea, ManU, Arsenal & Everton ) of which Everton were knocked in the qualifying round ( LOL ) !!!

Have looked into this since i saw that Fenerbahce were expelled and you're correct in saying that it is the team ranked highest in Europe that is currently involved in Europe and that team is Liverpool.....having said that i wouldnt be surprised at all if UEFA change the rule in this instance and install the highest finishing Turkish team into the ECL instead of Liverpool.

What does it mean the team with the highest coefficient....please explain {Ed009's Note - It effectively means the highest ranked team.}

In the 05/06 there was a bizarre situation where Liverpool were not classed as an English team as we had special exemption to enter, which is why we were able to draw Chelsea in the group stage (teams from same country can't draw each other until the quarter finals of the ECL).

UEFA had made a cock up in having a rule back to (I think) the 50s where the defending champions were always entitled to defend the EC or the ECL, and then put into place the maximum of 4 teams from any country rule, not thinking that a defending champion might finish outside the top 4. If you remember at one stage they apparently tried to get the FA to decide who to let in, us or Everton, but in the end realised they'd made the cock up and let us in. I know, a UEFA cock up - seems almost impossible!

Csf

Misapplication of the actual rule which calls for the top placed team in the same domestic league!

The uefa rule states that the next highest team from the same federation takes the place of any teams withdrawn from European competition so it was always going to be another Turkish team taking this spot anyway. Regarding the 4 team from one country rule, after the mess uefa made in allowing LFC to defend the title for the 05/06 season they have since re-clarified that finishing in the top 4 (or however many spaces is allocated to each country based on a ranking system) is the set qualification criteria and being champions no longer carries the right to defend the next year...

Merf

Trabsonspor have already been awarded the place by Uefa

Evening all, just had a txt from my mums fella who keeps telling me about 1 of the lfc doctors living in his apartment block and how he keeps askin the doc for any info, up until now the info he has been giving has mainly been about injuries and stuff, but he says he was just talkin to the doc and the info he gave this time was that 2 of coates, bellamy or dann will be having medicals tonite and that the king was quite fond of bellamy,we all know coates is most likely but who do u think the other is eds?
SCOUSE PIE

Why would this Doctor say 2 out of 3 players? makes no sense, if he knows surely he would just say the 2 players it concerned.

Sounds like a busy team doctor with 2 medicals tonight - guess he must have popped home to his apartment to change his socks or something?

To the first reply- he must not know who the 2 out of the 3 are, or else he would have said, kenny will have the final say, and to the second reply, yeah a massive club like liverpool only has 1 doctor, the appartments are 5 mins away from melwood so its not impossible to nip home.

SCOUSE PIE

You trying to convince yaself or us

Isnt the squad and staff in exeter ?

Whats the name of your Mum's Fella's bestfriends dog's goldfish apartment.........cuckoo land?

Sebastian Coates deal agreed.
Coates agreed to a deal for the talented young central defender from Nacional. The Uruguayan has agreed to terms on a 5 year contract and his signing will be announced later tonight pending the approval of his work permit application. Liverpool can rest easy in the knowledge that should the application be rejected, Coates is entitled to a Spanish passport due to his Spanish-born mother and while it would delay his debut, it would seal the deal.

The Anfield club have agreed on a fee, believed to be in the region of £8million with performance related additions, with Uruguayan champions Nacional, and Liverpool fans can once again give thanks to the vaunted Nacional youth development academy which also produced Luis Suarez.

Source : Bleacher report. (Not sure how reliable this guy is).

vrcomp
Y.N.W.A.

Bleacher one of the better sources in my opinion so fingers crossed.
CR

I've found Bleacher Report to be fairly good, if a bit slow.

If anyone's interested, the lists they do are fantastic, I rate the site much more highly in terms of entertainment and accuracy than somewhere like CaughtOffside.

David Hendrick was one of the first to talk about Suarez to liverpool last december, and at the same time he suggested about Torres departure.
Earlier this afternoon I read this very same article and submitted a comment about Macca putting this info in here a couple of days earlier than his original article yesterday, I did not put Macca name (not sure if he wants me) but I did put this site ..
Roy

Lol! Bleacher report! This morning they had an article claiming we dont stand a chance of signing coetes and man city will get him! Something must have happened since that stupid article...so yeah most likely he's now a lfc player...YNWA!

24 Aug 2011 17:37:26
Adam Johnson will do a Torres on mancity on close to the deadline and put in a transfer request to come to LFC. That's my gut feeling at this stage.

BooDaBooze

Why because city show lack of ambition???

Well as long as you have a gut feeling about it i feel reasured....

You cant have a gut feeling about something you quite clearly have no clue about

I think that gut feeling u have is you needing to go the toilet mate.....Toxteth red

Has there actually, at any point during this window, been any interest from us in him? I'm not a huge fan so i'm not bothered if he comes to us or not...but i get the feeling that all the talk about him joining us has come from fans wanting him here, not as a result of LFC being interested in him.

God i hope so,or as your tag implies,have you been on the ale?!

Good point how does any1 know were intrested like mata.itsjusy some of the fans who wont certain players

And what will City do? Absolutely nothing - let AJ sit in the reserves, it's not as if they need the money right and they hardly need to replace him in a hurry!!

I have a gut feeling that your gut feeling just fell out your mouth.

24 Aug 2011 17:25:54
Liverpool are keeping an eye on Dame Ndoye 26yo Striker from FC Copenhagen had a very impressive 2010/11 and could play team up well sitting behind carroll

I really hope note. He might be good for the danish league, but he will fail in PL.

I would think the he could be a fantastic back up striker without a doubt. I know the difference between the Danish League and the Premier League. But FC Copenhagen is a class team who went to the next round in Champions League last year :)

DanielDenmark

Not a chance of this, I watched him over here in Dublin playing against Shamrock Rovers in the CL qualifiers, nowhere near good enough for the premier league, might do a job in the SPL but even that would be a struggle, he's a lot worse than Ngog

DaveyLad

IM danish too.... and my appinion is that he sucks. yes hes good for the danish league, but he didnt make it when he played for panantinakios...

24 Aug 2011 16:59:45
wha you think will happen with raul merieles eds? {Ed002's Note - I would hope and expect Liverpool to sit down with him and make an offer that is immediately successful.}

Me too cheers.

Is that as a Chelsea fan, ed002, or for the better of the player and Liverpool?

Got to stay,and play in my view

Lets all hope so. Would be a disgrace to let him leave.

JAD674

Raul getting injured tonight may be in hindsight a good thing, putting other teams off of making a bid perhaps.........Dom

On the ball JAD674. could be a blessing in disguise. Last yeat he didnt have the engine for 90min so KK will use off the bench in important games where at the end he will terrorise teams especially with Luis. Where looking just fine! Stoked about Coates to, what player he should. Best quality, composure!

24 Aug 2011 17:06:56
Ed now that macca has said that yossi is not happening we must be moving on to other targets for that position. Who do you think are possibilities for attacking mid / winger? I personally would love honda and i hope he signs from nowhere like coates is doing {Ed009's Note - I very much doubt we will see Honda but it remains a possibility, despite his newly inflated price tag. I believe that we are looking for a squad attacker and, according to Macca, Bellamy could well fill that slot. In spite of the club's clear willingness to recruit, I do not believe they will rush in to deals, and may well wait until January; when Honda will be readily available again.}

Dont think we can afford to wait till jan.imagine if suarez got injured!!!

24 Aug 2011 16:48:19
Sky Sports News saying Aquilani to Milan is done and it is an initial loan deal that would become permanent if he makes 25 or more appearances for Milan this season. This true?
The Poacher {Ed009's Note - I believe it to be so.}

Once again we have had are pants pulled down. there needs to be somthing in the contracts to stop these players ,,, clubs

Pretty much true, he will fly in to Italy today, announcement could be made either tonight or after the player passes his medical tomorrow. anyway, glad this long Aquaman saga ends so now we can, focus on completing the squad for this season..

danny

Well praise ali thats over with.
king henry

So he'll play 24 games then

Given all the obvious euphoria at our recent spending spree (not that you can please everyone all the time) I thought that we might all pause for a few seconds and cast our minds back a year or so to the SNAFU that our great Club found itself in during the H & G era.

I would also respectfully suggest that we should all raise our glasses this day in respect of Messrs Broughton, Purslow and Ayre who rescued us from our path to oblivion.

Gentlemen, IMHO the three of you will go down in the pantheon of great Reds to have served this amazing Club of ours and I (and I am sure many others do too) give thanks for a job well executed...

Ed's - Can you please post this in both rumours and banter as sometimes I feel we all need to have a reality check as to just how far we have come since the dark days. Thanks {Ed009's Note - I deliberated long and hard about posting this in rumours, as we can't post banter there as a rule. In this case though, I decided it was relevant and poignant enough to deserve a slot.}

Yes to Sir Marty and the fantastic Ian Ayre. As for the other one, do me a favour mate

Great words fella. woodsy70

Agreed broughton and ayre deserve as much credit as possible. Purslow deserves little. A stooge who flipped sides throughout. Also responsible for hodgson and his summer of shame signings!

Couldn't agree more.....although I give equal credit to our new owners. The direction this club is heading in is exciting. I think some people can't appreciate what they are doing because the Man C's of the world are stockpiling superstars. Living in NY I can yell you that the entire baseball community (of which I'm not a part) respects our owners and considers them the best in American sports. That's saying something considering we're riddled with pro sports here!

Very well said,Its people like those mentioned and yourself that sets us aside and above from those down the East Lanc's.YNWA

Purslow was only digging for personal profit, Ian Ayre was the true deal maker there and Henry and Werner saw that hence them now employing Ayre.

Yes agree to all,apart from Mr Purslow being included.And of course we cant forget our so far GREAT owners.Tanx lads keep up the good work.

Agree with Broughton and Ayre sentiments but really, isn't it about time you stopped writing these type of posts Purslow?

Can't agree on Purslow the man stabbed Rafa in the back and the front, he also was the driving force behind Woy. Don't forget it was Broughton and Purslow who laughed at Kenny as manager before they hired Woy. Ask the former medical staff if they think Purslow is a good guy? We retained the only man worth retaining in Ian Ayre

It has to be all 3.. you dont win with 2 votes apiece and one abstention. they all 3 voted the same way. if one had voted with H&G where the hell would we be now.. think about it. dont take this out of context or let personal feelings stand in the way. 50 years from now your anti purslow feelings wont even show up in an analysis of what went down.. only that 3 brave men stood up against an evil tyranny and did what was best for a city, its people and its glorious team. YNWA

Yes v true.however,cant afford to sit back backslapping.that went on years before h and g.andv is why we didnt move forward,build on old success,and evolve,pre sky era.so well done,ta etc.but lotve catching up to do.full steam ahead!!

Hats off my friend. well said.

24 Aug 2011 16:36:01
ed in your own words do you agree that liverpool have taking big financial hits on players ,aqua,carrol,henderson ,the list goes on its seems to me we are a soft touch when it comes to tranfers it aqualini is fine example of this the only ones laughing at this are the italians im happy with the summer signings with the acception of henderson but we cant be taking massive hits if we are to succeed {Ed002's Note - The hit is not on Carroll or Henderson or players who will contribute, the financial hit is on Aquilani (and that is clearly understood), Degen, Jovanovic, El Zhar and the fringe players who will leave at the cost to the club now. And it is a very significant financial hit that together with the lack of any international football will see very large losses posted for this season. However, you can argue all you want about whether or not Liverpool paid too much for the likes of Carroll and Henderson, but a successful season or two with contributions from both might change your mind. I remain astonished at how little support many of the Liverpool fans give the players at the club. It is a great club with a wonderful history that is repositioning itself with responsible owners to move back in to the position it is traditionally used to. I don't expect this will happen overnight and it is going to be a struggle, but boy the fans are going to make it tougher if they don't provide the support the players deserve.}

Well said Ed002 I can't believe some of our fans that constantly slag off Andy Carroll and Jordan Henderson christ its only 2 games into a season were called supporters lets start supporting them.

Could not agree more, support the team and all the players no matter how much they cost

Here here Ed002! Completely agree {Ed009's Note - Best reply I have ever seen. And I've written a fair few!}

Spot on Ed. I like any other fan would love to see all new signings making outstanding contributions from day one but in reality it isnt likely that will happen. Time will tell whether the players signed prove to be good enough, but if they give their all to the club and we start seeing results on the pitch I for one won't complain. The constant barrage of distaste amongst supporters due to our 'overspending' does tend to lend itself to tedium and complete and utter boresville but each to their own. I remember a time when fans were urging the then owners to splash out extra millions to sign players saying just a few more mill would have got us so and so. Well now we have committed the extra funds to secure targets early and integrate them into the side yet you all still moan, the stench of hypocricy is rife on here at times. Lets enjoy what could potentially be a great season and if it turns out just the opposite I will be massively gutted but won't turn into a panic stricken KK and DC hater. To me it seems all efforts are being put into making our great club a force once again and for that I think we should all be thankful.

Cheers
Greggers

Ed, I dont think I could have put it more eloquentley... Well said Come On You Red Men !

Ed002, not to kiss your a*** or anything but that was an excellent summary. I suspect those people who it might apply to dont (or can't) read or understand and responsible owners or the need to give new players support... after all they are players who want to be here and play for us.

Richards

Just a thought. But are the club really taking a hit on players like aquilani? I know from our ( the fans ) point of two is seems so. But aquilani was bought with someone elses money. So if henry didn't pay for him but is going to receive 10 mil back surely he hasn't made a loss? Maybe thats one of the reasons why he is willing to sell him so cheap. {Ed002's Note - Since Henry has arrived the club have made a final payment (5M euro), contributed to wages (say 5M euro) agreed to pay 1M euro (I am now told that figure is rising to 1.5M euro) toward his wages next year, accepted a deal which will see 6M euro over three years and will pay 300k euro to Roma to buy them out of the remaining contract clauses.

Agree with the ed there totally.

Ahmen Ed. Alot are to quick to slate on here

klloyd

I agree with Ed002 - this poster and all the others knocking Henderson and Carroll are exactly the same ones who a couple of seasons ago were having a go at Lucas and Kuyt.

Why does anybody give a cr*p what we pay for players
If we get them and they improve the squad that is Ll that should matter to a supporter
fans never used to mention fees or wages

Just trust the manager and do your bit
go to the match and support your team
L1

Ok ed fair point i want liverpool to succeed as i am pool tru and tru but aqua is a sore one with me ugly hit..

Hi Eds - given the 3 people appear to agree with the original poster on Agree / Disagree, but non of the replies reflect this, don't you think people are actually agreeing with the Eds (I often think this is the case) Any chance you could change it to either Poster Vs Ed (Only if an Ed has the chance/ feels the need/ can be bothered to reply, otherwise Agree/Disagree is fine: by the way I reckon it'd do wonders for your egos!

Ed...correct

Well said L1, you would think half of these idiots were reaching into their own pockets to pay for players.Anyway the cost of players transfers is distorted. Read Tomkins stuff of PPI if you want a better understanding of this.

I hope some fans sit up and take note of ed002s reply,also they are still young and for me can only get better

ste liverpool

The agreement is to the eloquence of the response, nuff said - Suffolk'n Red

Yes your exactly right.Its just that we expect so much of our new signings,that when they dont exactly shine at first,we think oh god how much did he cost?Not another.But cast your mind back 1 year,to when we were buying the likes of Poulsen and Konchesky.We didnt think much of them in the first place,and yes they lived up to expectation(SH*TE).So give these young inexperienced lads a chance to shine,and show you how good they can be for us.
Oh and we need a new stadium or refurbished Anfield,for ALL of us to come along and cheer on our wining team on match days...Which im sure is next on our great owners agenda.

The point is not that we do not give support to our players. The point is we paid over the odds for players who are NEVER EVER going to repay us the amount we paid. Carroll for example will never be sold for more than half the money, if he ever leaves. With that kind of money we spend we could have had much more better young players and competing for the first position THIS year, not next year.

Good reply Ed. I believe the fans that are impatient are very young, immature and unreallistic, like most kids I guess.
Us older supporters are just so happy with the progress LFC has made in one year. Red or Dead
YNWA

If you look at it indepthly, the ed should not have to respond to the Carrol/henderson. we have to remember that they are still young lads who have time to grow at a big club.
Liverpool fans need to look back where we were this time last year and how far we have come absouletly fanstastic.
The Aqua deal must be one of the worst contractural deals we have undertaken unless someone can enlighten us all,
adg7

HERE HERE ED002, COULDNT OF SAID IT BETTER MYSELF

JAD674

Defo off a united fan or blue nose don't fall for it , support the team like we did in the 70's an 80's an early ninties an we will be great once again. Red till were gone.

Wow, like it Eds, quality! These armchairs need to stay quiet!

Well said ed002. why cant people see how kk is making us into a force again.

Did you notice on Monday night the support Man Utd fans gave De Gea? Everytime he touched the ball, they gave a massive cheer, supporting him through a difficult start. have to admit, they gained my respect for getting behind their signings, instead of moaning. We should not be on the backs of hendo/carroll etc, but showing 100% support as long as they try hard and wear the red shirt.

Its absolutely shocking that a chelsea fan (ED002) can write about our fans AND be absolutely correct! The H+G era left a lot of us a bit twisted but those times are well and truly over. Its about time we ALL sat up and remembered we are Liverpool, we support our club through thick and thin (unlike the bitters across the park) and by club that means the manager and his buys!! I am ashamed to read some of the comments from so called fans on here!

hi eds/lads

just a quick question, has pacheco been sold or loaned to atletico? ive been going through the posts and eveyone on here says he's been sold and loaned out by atletico to real vollecano (spelling?) and ive seen one post saying hes been loaned to atletico would appreciate some clarity.

adam mc {Ed002's Note - He has been loaned to Atletico Madrid. One year. That should clear it up.}

ed...if coates really did sign for us then will he be ready to play for us after his immediate signinig or will there be any issues regarding is work permit? {Ed002's Note - A work permit will be required.}

From what i hear - an appeal will be likely required as Automatic qualification criteria not met - however, appeal should be successful due to being an "exceptional Talent" and also being best young player in Copa America will lend weight to the appeal - cheers

Jamie

Work permitt is ok.can claim dual spanish citizenship

Sebastian Coates has confirmed that he would reject a move to Manchester City in favour of joining Liverpool.

Both Premier League clubs have made moves for the Uruguayan central defender, who is currently playing in his homeland with Nacional.

The 20-year-old revealed earlier this week that he expected a decision to be made on his future by the weekend.

Now Coates has confirmed that Liverpool would be his preferred destination, mainly due to the influence of compatriot Luis Suarez,who is currently at Anfield.

"I'd prefer Liverpool to Manchester City, but would need to see what they have to offer and would compare them," Coates told Ovacion.

"But having the help of Luis Suarez would be very important. I will be going to England, we are just missing a few details now.

"The Liverpool offer ticks all boxes, so fair to say it's a done deal. Luis's success is important for me as another Uruguayan joining.

"Liverpool is a club with great tradition and history, and Luis would be a great help to me. Suarez has spoken to Kenny Dalglish and his managers about my signing.

"He said it will be great having a Uruguayan with him, we chatted for quite a while, as he is someone I know well."

Coates shunned offers from elsewhere in Europe and admits he was waiting for the Premier League.

"My intention was always to wait, there were many rumours that I wanted England, but nothing concrete. Fortunately we have now received the offer," he said.

Coates, who has Scottish ancestry, does not qualify for a work permit automatically as he has not played in enough games but he would almost certainly be granted one on appeal.

If this move comes off at the sort of prices quoted, I reckon Luis should be getting himself one hell of a bung! Nice to see not everyone appears to be such a mercinary, money-hungry b'stard.

TAKEN FROM OVACION IN URUGUAY:

National today accepted the offer from Liverpool in England by Sebastian Coates and hours will officially transfer of the player.

The offer for the player arrived yesterday and today the club studied it, took it and wrote a letter informing the English club agreeing to the terms of the transfer, in which the pass is more expensive in the history of Uruguay.

The total business is $ 11.5 million National and you are free six million and a half of the U.S. currency.

Until yesterday, the future of Coates himself seemed to be between Liverpool and Manchester City, from where you expected an offer.

However, how quickly they moved the "reds", plus the presence of Luis Suarez, determining the choice of club, tipped the balance for Liverpool.

Notably, in turn, that Coates does not have an EU passport does not comply with the requirement of playing 75% of the matches of your choice, requirement for EU players.

But by this time in England working to get authorization for the fullback job. The fact that the defense tricolor has been voted the best young player of the Copa America would facilitate the process.

THANKS

JAMIE

THAT'S OK

Seb Coates father is British, Mother French
he qualifies for a UK passport

Interestingly Sebastian Coates official website now has a Union Jack and shows under construction:

www.sebacoates.com.uy/

Well spotted, it's either going to be us of City, with us being more likely by the sounds of it. Smart move by the young lad if it's true. Holding my breath on this one, he would be a great aqqusition.

Bommy

Yep. Seen that already.

BooDaBooze

Funny how 2 people disagree with this when its a fact...we all now how we like our facts lol

Well spotted indeed, i to am holding my breath as this guy, i would only have him and handful of others over this cahill, i highly rate him
Fingers crossed

People are disagreeing because the Union Jack has been on his website since before we were ever linked with him. It indicates an English version of his site is under construction along with his Spanish one.

nasri signed for man city, we should defo put a bid in for milner or adam johnson, both would are wasted talent in there, they hardly get a game

Firstly City will NOT sell either of them and secondly where's the money coming from even if they were.We're now apparently committed to buying Coates so another massive outlay isn't on.Unless you'll lend Kenny the cash!

If we get rid of aqua and cole, that would create the funds for them, think we should bid for adam.johnson, great player

Get real. Mancini won't give him to us to sign. We are rivals for the title.

BooDaBooze

I'm not so sure it's just about finding the cash for A.Johnson but a matter of City being sh£t-scared of our re-development under the new regime. They will lose out to us on Coates and won't exacerbate matters by selling us any of their cast-offs. We are assembling a squad for the future and don't need Bellamy or Milner, or indeed Adam Johnson (we've got Kuuyt, Henderson, reserves and the rest of the world to choose from).
So we'll let Citeh worry about our cast-offs in future and we'll just get on with the business of re-claiming our heritage in a dignified, professional manner.
ANFIELDPETE (I hate Citeh at least as much as Unahted!!)

Agree,esp with johnson.whats the harm?ok cant offer citys terms maybe.but!harmony aint associated with citys squad.and theyd play regular,not be bit part players.would bode well for them internationally playing regular also

Eds I dont doubt your judgement but is there any specific reason why Forlan wont join us just wondering whether you know something we dont?

Please post on rumours, appreciate your time and hardwork keep it up.

RAH, YNWA {Ed002's Note - At his age he will be demanding first team football, commanding a decent sized transfer fee with no sell on value and high wages. It does not seem like he fits Liverpool's need at all.}

There's a good reason why Atletico are letting him go.Last season he was replaced in the first team by Diego Costa a player who could generously be described as average.Afterwards Forlan's attitude was dreadful,he came on as sub against Deportivo and gave the best imitation of a sulking child I have seen on a football pitch.I would certainly not welcome his signing and reckon KD would have more sense.

Sorry ed002, I don't think you've given enough reasons there... :)

Thanks ed002, I would have said that spurs would have been his most likely destination but since they are 90% likely to be getting Ade I cant see them following up their interest from the January transfer window.

I just saw a guy like Sebastian Coates in a BMW car and i waved at him.
Please post this on rumours Ed {Ed028's Note - I just saw a guy like Elvis and waved at him too}

I waved at an old school friend the other day in the high street. Not sure if he drives a beemer though! Could this mean we're interested??? I didn't get his number so I could've checked if he was booked in for a medical!

Love the sarcasm ed!!!

I was at a concert the other day and did a Mexican wave. No BMW's involved though.

There's a guy works down the chip shop swears he's elvis, Could be the same guy ? {Ed028's Note - Could be, although he didn't like chip grease on his blue suede shoes}

I think Ive just seen Sebastien Coates too, but it could have been Scott Parker or Kenny Jacket.

You don't want to go around waving at guys in cars ....you will get a reputation

as i posted before about three uraguans coming to liverpool ,and that comoli has spoken to there agent ,breaking news pacheco has gone to athletico and forlan has been given permission to speak to ?....is it ringing any bells yet ....i wonder who the third one is
{Ed028's Note - Not Forlan}

Yeah they didn't want to cup tie him in Europe before they sell him... But we're not in Europe......do the maths...

Swish

I dont want the third one to be Forlan or Alvaro as Diego has no resale value and is old and Alvaro is so overrated and we have Kelly who i feel is already at Alvaro's level!!!.
I would want the third one to be a young attacker/maybe striker and 3 names pop in my head Gaston Ramirez, Nicolas Lodeiro or Abel Hernandez!!!!.. {Ed002's Note - Alvaro Pereira is a left winger or left wing back. He cannot be compared to Kelly at all.}

Why would you care about resale value?

Are you getting a cut of the profits?

Whoever is the right fit for the team and the squad will do for me.

Cavani!!!

Sky sports news: athletico madrid give diego forlan permission to negotiate possible transfer

does this mean this forlan could be at liverpool soon?

{Ed006's Note - Inter Milan, he will never ever ever ever ever ever ever play for Liverpool.}

He will play in suarez testimonial

So Ed, your saying there is a chance! :P {Ed028's Note - Eeeek}

Lol lol lol lol lol lol

Are you saying that there is a chance Ed006!! {Ed028's Note - A cat in hells chance}

Will you stop sitting on the fence ed6, and tell us what you really think. {Ed028's Note - He's currently away pulling his hair out!}

'cat in hells chance' is their way of saying no chance!!! S donkey could get that. Btw we havebmore chance of signing one. Why would Madrid not name him- other than to let him go to a team playing in europe. My cash is on inter after eto went

Swish

Of all the Ed's, this is the most ludicrous one i have seen, surely if United can get Owen (a former liverpudian in my book) to play for them, we are nailed on able to get forlan to join. Infact if we were to bid for him, WHO ARE INTER MILAN???. Suarez's presence is enough for him to sign for us...
Question is, will we bid for him???? {Ed002's Note - He will want first team football, command a high transfer fee with no re-sale value and high wages. Not a great deal to me.}

24 Aug 2011 14:16:54

Have heard a few whispers (from clleagues abroad, not media) that Liverpool could be in for Mario Gomez as shock signing. Very unreliable sources and personally think he'd cost a lotta dough, plus Bayern into CL proper, but what made me raise an eyebrow was his lack of celebration when he scored last night.... anyone else notice this? As I say, I'd rate it unbelieveable, but would LOVE it to be true - this guy can be devastating. Any legs on this one or faniciful thinking Eds?

{Ed006's Note - We were after him in January along with Fernando Llorente, this was before we signed Carroll though. It is very unlikely to happen now.}

Sebastian Coates has been signed, sealed and delivered to Anfield. For a fee of less than half the price of Phil Jones the Merseysiders have bagged themselves twice the player.

{Ed006's Note - I am still not sure, I have heard that he could be completed as soon as tonight.}

24 Aug 2011 13:50:15
suggestion in the local papers that Degen could be off on a trial to QPR ahead of any transfer. Not sure I go for this but I would expect that LFC's position would be to release him to make such a move more attractive, but I'm still to be convinced that QPR will want to pay his wages.

On the Taraabt story, wasnt the PSG-deal kyboshed as part of the takeover, with fernandes wanting to hold on to his prized asset (either in hope of a higher price or even cos he wanted him to play). Judging by Adel's opening performances I'm not sure his heart is in it, but then its difficult to tell with him sometimes.

ed - please post in rumours (LFC)

In addition to the Coates rumours.

My friend who works for a travel agent that deal with high profile bookings has told me he has been requested to look into flights from Carrasco Int. Airport to JL Airport for a Mr.P Coates..... now this means nothing to him as he's not that clued up with footie, but I asked him to let me know of any unusual flights into Liverpool.

I had bored everyone last week when i explained my weak "source"... now this does not confirm a transfer but there's something in it!

Coates could be on his way

Can he sort me a couple of tickets to Majorca this weekend or next?

Is there anywhere Ryanair dont go to now?

Im afraid you wouldnt get a fligt from there to liverpool

Dont talk wet m8, anybody with internet access can put 2 and 2 together these days. the point of this site is to come up with a snippet of info BEFORE it happens, not trying to sound smug after the event. And also, if you did your homework properly, you would know that the flight will probably be routed via Brazil or USA. Some people are complete dreamers. Rob Smith YNWA JFT96

Hello, im pretty sure he must have his airports mixed up - i dont think there is any flights from uruguay to JL airport. Thanks
hulkman

Never mentioned it being a direct flight??

So you think they fly direct from Montevideo to Liverpool do you? Your mate is in the wrong business... or is this of course BS.

You wouldnt ask someone to look into flights, its not that hard to book a flight especially if they were moving to Liverpool!

If the name meant nothing to him, why bother mentioning it?

If he mentioned it a week ago before his father came to the UK then someone can search the archives to check his validity. He never said it would be a direct flight, which we know it woudln't, you don't stipulate that when booking flights though, I booked to Thailand it will pick the route for you, but I don't tell people I am going to Thailand via Dubai. And people always get someone to book flights for them, my boss always uses a travel firm or gets me to do it, I then do the same and email a contact at Flight Centre and he does it all for me at the same price as booking direct, saves me the bother

Give the guy a break! a) He never said it was a direct flight b) His friend most likely reads the news and mentioned it off context! c) I want travel discount

Klloyd,
I have read 2 posts from you. Both have extracted a thoroughly entertaining swathe of knee jerk reactions.
Please post as often as you can - I love them!

Surely it would of said Mr. S Coates...

I never cliamed to be the first person to let you know about Coates, I just passed on info that I thought may back up others cliams. Trying to help out.

If you bothered to read my post you could of worked that out. I'm not posting to get credit for being the first to advise you lot.

I just mentioned my mate was looking into flights, not confirming he booked with my mates company... but rather highlight the fact that efforts seem to be being made to get Mr P Coates to Liverpool.

I cant claim to know if his having a inflight meal, if he's asked for headphones or if his booked onto a night club guestlist.

dont care if you think it's BS... I'm hardly cliaming anything other than efforts seem to be being made to get Coates agent/father as poss Seb himself to Liverpool.

Much thanks!

klloyd

All of these fantasy "rumours" seem to involve people who know or are travel-agents/ estate-agents/Melwood staff.
Sometimes someone will go to the bother of getting a checkable flight number to validate their claim, or will name a high-end estate-agency in Ainsdale or Southport. Give up children. Nobody with half a brain actually believes this carp!!
....Anyway, back to REAL rumours.....my mate Johnny Two-fingers is a carpenter in Bootle and he's been comissioned to build an outdoor patio for a South American client who expects to be moving to the area soon. My mate isn't the brightest (he thought Sugar Diabetes was a Mexican boxer!) but he reckons we might be signing Ralph Coates.....I said he wasn't the brightest.

Hi Ed

My workmate's sister works at Anfield in the ticket office and she's called every signing this and last summer to a T. All the talk today is surrounding the signing of a highly rated Uruaguayan player, only it's not Coates, who seems to have already signed, Dalglish has made a massive move for Diego Forlan who has been left out of Madrid's squad for their Europa League tie against Guimaraes, also the imminent signing of Falcao has probably tipped the scales for Forlan's exit, Dalglish plans to pair up Forlan with fellow countryman Luis Suarez who spearhead the Uruguay national team, i hope she's called this one as accurate a her last few.

You heard anything Ed? {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

At first I didn't think this was believable but like you said about falcao. And the fact we ive just sent them pacheco makes me think this could happen.

See now if you would have come on here earlier in the summer with the Henderson, Enrique, Adam, Downing ( and possibly Coates rumours ) before you would be up there with Macca because as you say your ' source ' knew about them before, yet you decided not to share that with us? thought not, next please.

DMT 07

A "Massive" move for Forlan who is 32 turned.Sorry no thank you as a deal and no chance as a rumour!

I'm only passing on from what has been a fairly reliable source, i've only known about this website for a few weeks.

If they could snap him up for less than 5m then he wouldn't be a bad signing i reckon...wages could prove a stumbling block though.

Forlan wants to move to inter that is why he has been left out. Forlan is inter bound not lfc bound

Madrid have given permission to Forlan to speak with a club re a transfer. No names mentionned though - could be something in this

Any chance in getting her email address, just to source tickets of course !!

LFCTV official website - Dani Pacheco on season long loan to Athletico Madrid, hope he wants to come back and fight for 1st team place next season!

Good move for him, they're a much better team than Rayo.

RedSG

Good luck to him. Too lightweight for the Prem unfortunately. Spanish and Italian footy with slow build-up play is more suited to his talents and development. Shame.

Red Gart

Think you'll find the loan to Athletico will be merely to 'showcase' him to other Spanish teams in the hope that one of them will buy him next summer. You won't see him at Anfield ever again I'm afraid. Shame as he is another who I thought would progress but instead seemed to develop an attitude problem. RED LENIN

Is it true that Man City have come in and offered more for the player. His Dad is also speaking with City this afternoon

Absolute tosh !!

If an offer from LFC has already been accepted then surely it would be up to the player to decide which one he would prefer and with the influence of Suarez i think we have it in the bag.

Don't be surprised if they do.money no object and it stops a possible rival from strenghtening

City are now buying players simply to stop other clubs buying them. They might neither want nor need Coates but £10 mill to play him in their reserves means us or any other club can't have him.

A load of pants! Don't rise to it...

Surely its a case off A. You want to come and play in the EPL with Liverpool or just sit on your arse collecting the cash at city. Hopefully its the former

Coates has alreafy stated he wants to come to us over man city,expect the deal to be done ASAP

I really doubt that. Taarabt has played 2 prem games, & from what i saw of the everton game he didn't really stand out. I really doubt this will happen, & i don't think you can call this a 'big' signing until he proves he can mix it with the best in this league.

Why is it bull?, Joe Cole cant get in team, we need some flare either upfront as a back up striker or right winger. I think it would be a good solution for all.

Hope this is true, looks like a fine player. however, i cant see it being true, can you ed02? {Ed002's Note - It seems unlikely. There was talk of him PSG and Malaga.}

Tell you what, why not sign both Taraabt and Bellamy. then Bellamy can beat the cr*p out of Adel every time he sulks. Which is a lot.
Then the rest of teh squad can gt on with playing football, and these two will be nicely out of the way.

Taraabt won't come. Why would we buy him?

Dawkins

Only a couple of years ago spurs let this player leave their club, so he clearly cant be that big time, or spurs would have seen it and kept him

I wish people would stop talking a load of bull

They are both Championship players at best!

He has developed alot since he left spurs mate, good player, better than cole!!

Okay player, great potential but not a Liverpool player in attitude. I highly doubt this would be true. And why would qpr swap a '10mil' player for 2 they can get on a free!???

Swish

I saw a lot of him on t.v. last season and he looked okay but whether he can step up a division is not proven and doubtful.His temprament is also very suspect.All in all it ain't gonna happen!

Hi Eds - Was there ever any real interest in Alex or was it all stirred up BS? Reckon he'd be a rock at the back and help the young defs we have / may get to develop - Is there any possibility by the end of the window (especially if Skrtel goes)

Cheers

Red HG {Ed002's Note - I don't believe that there was interest.}

Do you think Alex would help bring young defenders on more than Carra?

Strange!

Red Gart

"like a rock"- did you see him against WBA? awful, outmuscled all over the shop on a number of occasions. don't be fooled by his (admittedly great) shooting!

Yes, I think he would be a great help to Carra in bringing on young players, it doesn't have to fall on one players shoulders to bring experience and expertese - do you?? don't forget there is a language barrier to overcome too with young Coates (touch wood he signs!) which I doubt Carra would overcome (to be fair, Carra's english aint that great too!)

Just my opinion, but I reckon he would be solid too.

Red HG

Shane Long done him for pace and strength on Saturday and most people on here said Long wasn't good enough for Liverpool, (although being a patriotic Irishman I stood up for him and thought he woud have been a great buy at £7m) so do you really think Alex would be good enough for us? I personally don't want any players signed from other clubs that are going to be challenging for the title if their not seen as goos enough for their current club their not good enough for us!

Gman82

To be fair, he was caught out very early on in the game - can happen to any CB (who generally are not reknowned for their pace, but mainly their height, presence and reading of the game) - Long had a 35 to 40 yard run in on goal, I would have expected my "pacey" fullbacks to come around and cover here, which is what they did not do. Didn't see Long get much more of a sniff after that....

This is a little off topic, but have Romelu Lukaku offically signed for Chelsea yet? i have red alot about it in Norwegian medias, but have never seen an article that he have offically signed for the club. {Ed002's Note - Yes he has.}

Just taken from BBC sports
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has declared an interest in signing Liverpool's out-of-favour midfielder Joe Cole. Cole turned down an offer from Spurs in order to move to Merseyside last summer, but the switch has not worked well for the Londoner, who failed to establish himself as a first-team regular last season.

Liverpool and Aquilani's agent is currently in talks regarding the player's move to Milan. Agreement between both clubs have been reached, but there's still some details about wages between Aquilani and us.
I Don't expect any details about Coates before Aquilani's matter is cleared out.

skertel has recieved interest from a number of clubs
wilson is wanted on loan (rangers)
coates on his way as we all know.
plus dann is still on the cards, if skertel goes.
carlos

It amazes me how many fans can't even spell player's names.

Rangers will NOT be going for Danny Wilson due to the large amount of centrebacks already at the club. There was interest at the start of the window, but KK thinks highly of Danny (and rightly so) and would rather he stays in England. He might join a lower prem side before the window shuts, potentially Blackburn if they lose Samba

Could be some truth in Skyrtle going as soon as Kenny came back I thought his days would be numbered..100% trier by the way.
But just not good enough!
Sell him the money would near enough finance Scott Dann + Coates and with Carra and Agger the CD sorted and looking 100% better.

hi eds can you guys please tell me how close we are to signing coates an dany other details that you have the patience to tell me about
thanx and great job as usual
DS14 {Ed002's Note - There is nothing more to say. Liverpool are clearly doing what they can to sign the player. We do not know when it will be completed or announced. We do not know the figures involved at this time. There truly is nothing to say.}

Hi Ed's and fellow Reds, I have just read on the Independents website that Sebastian Coates fee has been agreed and believed to be in the region of £7mill. Can any one please confirm anything? {Ed002's Note - You could read other posts.}

David Ngog will be leaving if the deal can be tied up in time. Expecting it to happen soon. Likes LFC but not getting enough 1st team football. Very reliable scource!

I know we can all read the internet..but just putting it out there...Eurosport saying Pacheco has been sold to Atletico and instantly loaned out to Rayo Vallecano.

He definitely had the skills but always a little too lightweight in my opinion.

Kez

I agree light weights don't make it in the prem league, I mean look at Fabregas, Da Silva and Modric....

MUSHROOM

He was loaned out not sold

24 Aug 2011 11:58:13
Hearing that Dani Pacheco has signed for Atletico Madrid then loaned to Rayo Vallecano?

dmedly

On the official website:

Liverpool have today finalised a deal to send Daniel Pacheco on a season-long loan to Atletico Madrid.

The 20-year-old will stay in La Liga until 30 June 2012.

he must be going there on loan with a option to buy.

Hey EDS please post in rumours found this on eurosport.com so not sure about reliability but looks brilliantly positive!!!

Uruguay international Sebastian Coates has confirmed he expects to sign for Liverpool in a deal reported to be worth £7 million.

Coates, 20, has also been targeted by Manchester City but is expected to move to Anfield unless Roberto Mancini's side make a higher offer than that tabled by Liverpool.

The Nacional defender impressed at the Copa America over the summer and has also been the subject of an offer from Ukrainian club Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, but Coates says he is awaiting the chance to link up with international team-mate Luis Suarez.

"I'd prefer Liverpool to Manchester City, but would need to see both offers," Coates told Ovacion. "But having the help of Luis Suarez would be very important.

"The Liverpool offer ticks all boxes, so fair to say it's a done deal ... Luis's success is important for me as another Uruguayan joining.

"Liverpool is a club with great tradition and history. Suarez has spoken to Kenny Dalglish and the sporting directors about my signing."

Coates will not qualify automatically for a work permit as he has not played in the requisite number of games for Uruguay, but Liverpool will be hopeful of securing one on the basis that he is an "exceptional talent".

Nacional vice-president Hector Olmes expects the deal to go through.

"The offer is very good," revealed Olmes. "Surely Coates will go to Liverpool."

Rob Turner

I really hope we get this guy, from what i have seen he is class ,price is right and with luis he would settle in fast

Sebastian Coates heading to Liverpool to undergo medical
24 August 2011

Nacional's Uruguay international defender Sebastian Coates is heading to Liverpool to undergo a medical.

The 20-year-old highly-rated defender has agreed personal terms with the Reds and is due in to complete other formalities.

Meanwhile, Liverpool's director of football Damien Comolli is still trying to negotiate further transfers before the window slams shut.

We expect further activity and we wouldn't rule out our business going right to the wire on deadline day.

Anfield Insider

This article is from KopTalk so stop claiming to be an Insider !!

Hey Ed's is there any chance of bellamy joining us ? i think he would be great on the right flanks or as an backup striker ! {Ed002's Note - Please refer to earlier posts. It has been suggested by Macca that it may happen.}

Errrr "the right flanks"! We've only got ONE right flank.the others called the LEFT!

Sebastian Coates has been signed, sealed and delivered to Anfield. For a fee of less than half the price of Phil Jones the Merseysiders have bagged themselves twice the player.
Uruguayan heavyweights Nacional received a fax this morning from Liverpool meeting their £7m valuation of the centre-back. The deal concludes a month of intense transfer speculation surrounding the 2011 Copa America Young Player of the Tournament.

Thats on the official LFC website reported by the Independent!!
I hope its a done deal
YNWA JTF96

CoolhandLFC

I always wonder that the clubs are still sending faxes. last window, köln lost out on a player because nobody read the fax the other club sent.

This was a hotline fax connection, mate. Meaning that it is f***up proof.

BooDaBooze

It states at the end that is from the media...not offically from the club. Wait until its on the main page and then i'll be happy. at present its paper talk

Id like to know when the report was written, if it was at the time op posted it would be 4:58am in Uruguay. I doubt the machine would have been manned

Think we have other players to fall back on macca now we won't get yossi

Rigg10 in you I trust;)

Cheers Macca, much appreciated mate.
Have to say yes, he's a good player but if they are looking for someone in his role and the price is going up, then we might as well look at other younger players that will have some resale value in the future.

Cheers Macca

Keep us updated, lots of people await your posts.

Hi macca

Liverpool have been linked with making a bid for Internacional's 19 year old brazilian attacking midfielder Oscar.

A bid of £10 million would have thought to have been enough to sign him

Has somebody played a little too much football manager?

I thought we were scouting Inter's Cutinho (spelling) earlier this summer. He is a striker and can play as a winger. He is not much favoured since Rafa's departure.

Caughtoffside is not a reliable source

Liverpool and Nacional have not yet agreed a fee for Coates but there has been contact - Nacional are approaching European clubs via a network of agents to attract interest. To date two Spanish clubs have also made enquiries.

Much will depend on whether City allow Mancini to make another buy following Nasri's imminent arrival - rumoured to be City's last of the summer but never say never. I posted earlier this morning that Coates' father is eager for City to join the race and this could very soon be the case. I'm told that they are throwing everything at the Nasri deal and are keen to get it all tied up before a decision is made on this. Expect Chelsea and City to try to hijack this one.

I'd just like to point out that at that point a fee had not been agreed and that Andy Hunter at the Guardian had much of the same to say in his article

www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/aug/23/liverpool-nacional-defender-sebastian-coates

Ped

Thats interesting that you seem to know more than the club vice president of wer the lad comes from.

Stop reading papers follow proper sources fee has been argeed only up to him where he wants to go but macca does feel like the club vice president that it seems he going to us.

His team are quoted as saying that we have made an offer, perhaps it would be good to check out all sources of information before you post anythink you deem certain.

If you looked back at when I originally posted that top piece - I actually posted that 10 hours before the article and at that time a fee had not been agreed - I copied and pasted it in and added the latter part last night so read properly. My source was a Player Liaison Officer.

No they said a good offer surely he will go to liverpool. Would they turn down a good offer and say surely he will go to liverpool if that offer wasn't accepted. Sometimes common sense is enough to know whats going on

None of you are taking into account the time I posted this. Idiots. It hadnt been agreed at that time, there was a threat that City would jump in and Chelsea are looking in. I posted this, then the news broke that the deal was agreed, then an article came out hours later. Numpties. Not worth posting if people don't even take into account the time of the post.

Ped

This wasn't originally posted this morning - it was sent in last night - the Eds can confirm - and contains a copy and paste job of my earlier post from yesterday afternoon. The last 2 or 3 lines where the point I was trying to make.

Two Questions Ed002:

1. Are we ready to accept offers for Skrtel and may be replace him with Dann or Cahill??

2. You are a fan of Park chu Young, The guy has been linked with us for more than one time. Could you please tell that can the Lad Play on the Flanks??? Is he a target man type player??Or is he completely different from our three available Strikers?(Nothing transfer related just player info)

Thanks
Most reliable football website by a country mile.

goala {Ed002's Note - (1) If Coates arrives I suspect there will be no further CBs arriving this summer. (2) Park Chu Young can play across the front but he is a striker. With this issue surrounding his national service coming to light after it was assumed deferred another four years not two, means that a loan is more likely than a sale - at least until the situation is clear.}

Alberto Aquilani reportedly will arrive in Milan Wednesday (today) night and is scheduled for a medical in Milan on Thursday, he will immediately join his teammates on training and could already be available for Saturday clash in Serie A. Official answer for Liverpool is pretty much lacking at the moment but could be released later today.

Sebastian Coates deal could arrive as soon as Aquaman's deal revealed by the Reds' management

My wife's cousin who lives near Milano and is a huge Milan fan just sent me a text message that Aquilani is a done deal.

Looks as if macca has beaten us all to it but yes Sebastian Coates is on the verge of signing after a fee has been agreed.

Bellamy will not be joining Liverpool. N'gog looks to be off perhaps Bolton but maybe to Germany now he is no longer the makeweight in a move for Cahill from Bolton.

Keenboy

Completely agree and let's get behind the boys, they are all red men and deserve our support, don't forget, AC could easily be sitting on 2 goals in two games, then everyone would be saying "bargain" how fickle we are

Oh yea thanks for confirming that ya tool, just about to post about it were you?!

Cheers Macca u and the eds are tge only ones who have got anything bang on in the 3-4 years I've been using this site!

Benzo

I think if you care to check the previous posts on this site it was I who broke the news on Coates, and yet I was riddiculed by all for even suggesting Coates as an untried too young none premiership experiance compared to Cahil and Dann. And then Macca jumps on the bandwaggon with his followers claiming to have unearthed the latest transfer..

Here's another one for you, Bellamy will NOT be arriving ever..

Curled1

This Macca guy is nobody more than the normal supporter, most of his transfers speculation is wrong and he looks through all the Internet sites like the rest. Last week it was Cahill and beneyoun this week it's Coates and Bellamy complete and utter bull crap. He claims the Adam signing but that was banging on since jan and Enrique was let out the bag by Thompson the other signings were neve mentioned. This sites great but this Macca hasn't a clue
