Just read that Lovren is off to zenit for £11 million.
One year left on his contract and at 31 years of age, i think we've done well!

Yes, announced by Paul Joyce. For an amount of £10.9m. I think there will be three more departures over the next two weeks, not including those leaving at the end of contracts.

That's excellent business considering we paid 20mill.

Good deal all round if that goes through, he finished with us on a high at least.

Ed2 do. you know what Liverpool plans are for Brewster next season?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing decided at this time.}

24 Jul 2020 23:38:33
Another loan to Swansea if they get promoted is probably ideal. If not then I’d prefer him to Origi assuming we don’t bring another forward in.

25 Jul 2020 12:45:47
He’s done well with Swansea, I’d like to see him with another there.

Recently i read news from Daily Mirror that Salah refuse to explain about his future at Liverpool. If there was a serious buyer for Salah. i think we should consider about it. He looks very sharp together with Firmino and Mane but imo he's too much individualism on the pitch. Is Salah's statement has any correlation with the club decision on selling Lovren Ed? What do you think on Salah's statement that looks like he also wants to quit from LFC? I think it will be beneficial for the club to raise funds transfer and reduce wage bills. However during this financial crisis, i think it's small chance to sell Salah.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Salah right now has no where to go and I don't see him leaving. Lovren was a well liked player but will be heading off to pastures new. I would not try and relate the two issues nor anything Salah has said - he already knows that there are no clubs going to step in and make a viable offer.}

27 Jul 2020 13:07:00
ifarachmadi, I read the same story on the Daily Mail and it is a nothing burger. Salah said he is just enjoying the moment as a PL champion when asked about LFC's targets for next season. Nothing to see here, man.

Quick question Ed002. With Lovrens exit being inevitable would you expect now a push for a starting CB. You have previously mentioned Diego Carlos or Diego Llorente would largely rely on the exit of a senior CB and with Lovrens exit are these deals more feasible than before?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - No, that is not what I said. Liverpool need to sell others before they can look to a first choice expensive CB. If they simply want to replace DL then perhaps Nathinial Phillips should get a chance, else they may as well sell him as well.}

24 Jul 2020 14:49:25
Apologies I must have misread. You mentioned Shaqiri could be used in the deal for DC is that still viable? I don't really see the point in replacing Lovren with a player who would not be pushing the starting 11. I'm aware money is an issue however. In your opinion would Diego Llorente be a better option to Carlos considering the financial implications of C.V.? Thanks in advance for your knowledge and information.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Diego Carlos would be the best option and Lorentz might work. The chances of XS being involved has likely drifted away.}

24 Jul 2020 15:38:21
I like Nat Phillips, seems a decent young player, however I would expect him to prefer regular football as his age.

Agree4 Disagree0

24 Jul 2020 15:32:50
Why has the Shaqiri interest faded Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Sevilla signed someone else.}

24 Jul 2020 15:33:34
Thanks for the information. Fingers crossed Lpool push for Diego Carlos then. From what's being said he sounds like a very good player.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - They don't have the funds right now.}

24 Jul 2020 15:48:59
Diego Carlos is the dream. He’s been the best CB in La Liga this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jul 2020 16:09:55
Someone will buy Shaq, and we can go in with a cash deal.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - they will as well spaceman, you get more for your crap than the american pickers and drew prichard put together..

24 Jul 2020 16:36:57
Ed025 I see jealously even extends to our outgoing players :D.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im jealous of some of your team dan but not dejan mate, nice fella by all accounts but a bloody awful footballer, he makes michael keane look like koulibaly mate..

24 Jul 2020 17:37:45
Dejan would walk into your team, 25.

He's actually okay once he's on a run of games despite not really being fast enough for our high line. Problem is he's always jittery on his first game or two back from injury, and gets injured quite a bit. So the cycle keeps resetting.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - lets not kid ourselves SR, he was an average player who made too many mistakes, a poor mans yerry mina if you like, never likely to get in a good team never mind your one, your well shut if you ask me but i wish the guy well mate..

24 Jul 2020 21:05:58
There is no such thing as a poor mans Yerry Mina.

Agree5 Disagree0

24 Jul 2020 22:29:42
I’m with something red Ed025 mate, I’m sorry but DL walks into your team, he is above your CB options. He had got a mistake in him but most have tbh.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - of course you are DTD you are nothing if not loyal to all your ex players, the fact is we have 2 good young players in holgate and branthwaite and keane is doing well lately plus a back up in mina, so why would we want a yard dog like lovren?, you really are cheeky sods wanting to pass all your dross on to us..

25 Jul 2020 07:26:20
You’re doing well enough Last few seasons wasting money on buying dross Ed25 as is. look forward to your raft of clean sheets next year with these wonder kid Cb’s you say you have.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i never said they were wonder kids marshy, they are up and coming young players with potential and im happy with that, we know where we are in the grand scheme of things and its a rebuilding job mate, we are trying to move forward not backwards and with FFP issues bringing young players through is an important part of the plan... there is a reason why dejan has been shipped out to the obscurity of siberia, hes a turkey and a liability so why would any team who is looking to progress employ the likes of him?...point proven i think..

25 Jul 2020 11:41:31
Sadly Ed 25, I think your teams league position is all the proof required of your dillusional opinion.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - we are a work in progress marshy, hopefully we will return to the top table in the next few years and progress just like liverpool have...but without the arrogance of course..

25 Jul 2020 12:34:17
Dejan Lovren.
Statistical anomaly.
6 year career at the Super, World, European and League Champions.
Managed by the worlds best coach and most astute board.
Plays a Champions League final and a World Cup final in a 3 month period.
Secure and £10m transfer in his early 30's, with a poor injury record, during a C.V., with one year left on his deal. and somehow he is not as good as the Alehouse Cloggers at the blues.

Seems like all those things are a weird fluke and the Blue isn't at all biased.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - even a broken clock is right twice a day BBH, he has an impressive CV but just like that of djimi traore it has been forged by the players around him rather than anything he actually done, a very poor player who always reminded me of michael crawford in "some mothers do av em" an accident waiting to happen who has been stealing a living for the past 4 years..

25 Jul 2020 13:49:38
Playing in a higher line certainly added to Lovren looking more vulnerable as his main flaws have always been defending in behind when he's much better suited to defending aggressively with his back to goal, on the other hand Gomez is the opposite in his strenghts and weaknesses so much more suited to our defensive approach.

I don't know much about Diego Carlos to be honest but I'd hope his game is more similar to Gomez than lovren for him to fit in effectively in our defence.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jul 2020 13:13:10
Ed25,regardless of his weaknesses, Lovs walks into your team, based on his accomplishments of shutting down some of the best CF's on the planet in Ronaldo in the CL final, Aguero in the PL several times, shut down your own Lukaku in his sleep several times, and shut down every CF that came his way in the WC including the Golden Boy Harry Kane. Comparing Lovs to Michael Keane is a slap in the face of a CL and WC finalist and I have not even begun to mention his trophy cabinet. Just facts, man.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - well if he was that good RM why has he ben binned?, this fantastic player you have this world beater should surely be in before the hapless gomez or the crock matip, come on mate get a grip..

24 Jul 2020 13:00:51
Hi Ed’s hope all is well. With the season finally closing in and movements starting to happen, I know it looks like money is really stretched if any at all with a centre back prioritised but is there a list anywhere of the players being looked at in the versatile forward areas for Shaqiri leaving possibly and maybe even Origi by the sounds of it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of new targets Alex.}

24 Jul 2020 19:10:38
From memory Rashica has been mentioned a few times however seems like he could be on his way to Red Bull Leipzig is this right or just the usual Twitter people. I remember Tsyhankov name mentioned also at one point have either been looked at any further or has C.V. and budget issues put this sort of stuff to a halt.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Yopu can forget both.}

That prolonged hug in the dressing room with Klopp on Wednesday gave it away really! I'm absolutely not surprised this has come out so quickly.
Thanks for the service, Dejan! Your goal against Dortmund will always be remembered, as well as your bromance with Mo Salah!

One of my favourites, had that "I've really bought into the club" feel about him, like DAgger had. I'll miss him, but best for his career, a way too good to spend his peak as 4th choice.

Paul Joyce has said that Lovren is set to leave for Zenit in a deal worth £10.9m. Looks like we might be seeing a new CB at the club this summer.

Good luck. Its been so hard for him all around. He is a warrior to the core and a big part of the dressing room. Am a bit gutted cuz i always felt he was a good defender.
Wish him best of luck and hope we replace him with a good character.
