Good evening Ed002 hope your ok? Can u tell me any info on Diego Capel and if Liverpool really been looking at him now or past is just that his name was mentioned somewhere else? Thanks and take care. {Ed002's Note - Marseille, Swansea and Braga have shown an interest Diego Capel whow will likely be available after what has been a pretty torid time this season. Marseille have since moved on and found another player instead. His agent has been instructed by Sporting to find him a new club with an asking price in the region of €6M. His agent has spoken with a number of clubs in England, including Spurs, Liverpool, West Ham and Sunderland.}

He is not an improvement on Downing so I hop we stay away, he has got lots of pace but that's about it

25 Apr 2013 21:40:53
Hi eds, do you know of any interest in Salah from Basel fc? {Ed002's Note - Only from Italy.}

6m euros? That's a bargain for a player like him! Not having the best of seasons but at 6m euro you can't go wrong!

Hi Eds- I know its Irrelevant now but could Ed001 or Ed002 Explain the situation before LFC bought Henderson as Regards to Gotze? is it true Kenny and Comoli had a choice between the two? or was it just that Gotze was 1 of Numerous Targets?Im a Hendo fan and think he will be a very Important player for us but just Curious. thanks guys, Appreciated as always
concon {Ed002's Note - The club made an enquiry for Goetze - nothing came of it.}

Hendo is pile of s*** mate he cannot pass to save his life by running around the park doesn't make him a good player

26 Apr 2013 08:59:27
How can anyone be a Hendo fan? Like what matey said earlier 'He's s***' he needs a whip cracking on him because he's no Gerrard!

Hi eds, do u think Suarez might go to Real Madridif they give us Higuain and Karin Benzema? Thanks LFC13 {Ed002's Note - Real Madrid are not goiung to give Higuain and Benzema for Suarez. Barcelona might offer Villa or Tello and cash if they cannot get the player they want. You never know.}

Ed002. Who is the player that Barcelona are after? {Ed002's Note - Aguero.}

Ed002 I thought you said player swap deals don't really happen? {Ed002's Note - I have have never said they don't happen, just that they are not as common as folks think.}

25 Apr 2013 18:22:35
Yes. YES keep mentioning Higuain's name on here and I'm hoping LFC staff keep note on what goes on here. If there's 1 person I would LOVE to see in a red shirt it's him :-D

I'd take this thiago tello plus 15-20m for Suarez. Sell Carroll and Borini and buy a top drawer forward and happy days.

Imagine Suarez in the same team as either Messi or Ronaldo. Scary or what.

IF he were to go to Real Madrid then i'd ask for Higuain and £20M, or £55M straight cash as I feel he is defiantly worth that as Torres went for £50M Cavani, Falcao will be on the move and Suarez is better that those in my opinion as he can create something from nothing unlike the above, However if it were to Barcelona i'd ask the same amount of cash Madrid were quoted or Thiago, Villa & £10M

26 Apr 2013 08:24:07
Yeah ok you wanna talk swaps? How about this. Suarez for Higuain & Di Maria. Job done and happy days ;-)

One on wants villa or tello barcelona would be too late on those players, if they offered either Thiago or Sanchez + cash then yeah we can talk.

I'd try our luck and try for Alexis and Tello +£15m

Afternoon Ed, just wondering what you think the future will be for Stephan El Shaarawy and Romelu Lukaku. {Ed002's Note - Real Madrid, Napoli, Arsenal, PSG and Cologne who have shown an interest in El Shaarawy over the past year. Napoli, Real Madrid and Arsenal would like to strike a deal with Milan at some point but the player is happy where he is and Milan have no intention of selling. I suspect any move is very unlikely this summer.

Lukaku will return to Chelsea with the majority of the loan players to be assessed by the new manager in the summer. I would think another year on loan is on the cards, but it won't be clear for a while. If Ba leaves he might well stay with Chelsea next season.}

El shaarawy is rubbish. too inconsistent and physically too weak for the epl. also, he doesn't track back, is a primmadonna and way over-rated and would cost too much in wages. his shot on target stats are embarrassing and his goal return laughable. just not good enough for lfc

Thanks for that Ed, I wasn't suggesting either would be coming to Liverpool by the way.
I'm surprised to hear that Ba could be off, I think he's been badly underused by Rafa.
I did wonder if Lukaku may be available if Chelsea sign another big money striker but I'm guessing they still see him as one for the future (not sure how he'll feel about being made to wait though)

Lukaku already said he needs anthor season online and even were chelsea to sell him Liverpool couldn't affor him

Eds
Jacub Blaszczykowski looks like a very quick, accurate and skilful RW with a goal return of 16 this season.
What is his situation as I believe he would be a great addition to our team. NOT MOTD Fever just someone I admire and someone I believe could improve our team.
Any Chance?

JD {Ed002's Note - See earlier answers please.}

25 Apr 2013 15:32:54
Ed's would Reus be expensive and what about Abate of Milan? {Ed002's Note - Chelsea, Juventus, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Arsenal showed an interest in Marco Reus before his return to Dortmund last year. Recent tentative approaches made by Chelsea and Manchester City have resulted in a "not for sale" response regardless of their being a release clause in his contract. Manchester City are likely to push again as Dortmund are looking to Dzeko as a replacement for Lewandowski and will look to ease a deal through by offering favourable terms on the transfer or a contribution to his salary, but Reus is keen to stay where he is for now.

Abate is not going to be moving to Liverpool either.}

Quick question for Ed002.

Do Liverpool still hold any interest in Cristian Tello? His name has just resurfaced on a few rumour websites.

Thanks in advance. {Ed002's Note - If he were available I would expect Liverpool would be interested.}

25 Apr 2013 15:03:52
Yeah but been told Arsenal are chasing him aswell. So not holding my breathe on that 1. Besides I want to start a partition up to LFC to sign Higuain and then I would die a happy man :-)

25 Apr 2013 13:29:46
will Javi Garcia be available in the summer ed? would be a good addition to our first team solid defensive midfielder could also provide cover at the back seems as we will be a little bit light there next season. he is also a threat at set pieces which would benefit us

Alves {Ed002's Note - Javi Garcia will not be joining Liverpool in the summer.}

25 Apr 2013 13:26:04
Hi Eds,

Not really a Liverpool question, but why are Dortmund so content (seemingly) to sell their best players? Surely they must be lining up a reasonably busy summer with incomings as well if they are going to let Gotze, Lewandowski and maybe a couple of others leave.

YNWA JFT96 {Ed002's Note - Goetze went because he wanted to after Bayern Munich agreed to match his release clause. It was the decision of the player. They would like to keep Lewandowski but have been unable to agree a new deal.}

Thanks Ed002 :)

So do you know if they are planning any big signings?

Seems a waste building such a good young side if it could all go wrong in one summer. {Ed002's Note - There are a number of players they have been showing an interest.}

25 Apr 2013 13:23:44
Do you know if Liverpool have ever scouted Morgan Schneiderlin or Youssouf Mulumbu. I seem to recall some interest in Mulumbu over the last couple of transfer windows.

MarkB {Ed002's Note - I am not aware of interest from Liverpool.}

25 Apr 2013 14:12:18
Who's Morgan Scheiderlin? Sorry but don't know every players name who comes up here. {Ed002's Note - He plays for Southampton.}

25 Apr 2013 14:44:44
Thanks your a star as always ed002 ;-)

Sorry, Morgan has already been suggested before, so you are still only interested in signing 9 of the Saints team. You don't get the prize until you become aware and lust after the other two!

Wouldn't it be easier, and more rewarding, just to become Saints supporters?

25 Apr 2013 12:07:26
So eds without the figures and what team can u see luis leaving I think if he did the committee who sign our players had better get there finger out because he would be hard to replace altho he brought shame on our club I wish he would stay and fight like all us fans have fought for him and backed him LUIS rise above this and become stronger YNWA JON96 {Ed002's Note - I have explained that there is interest from Bayern Munich and Juventus. The interest from Atletico has probably now gone. There is a thought that Manchester City may become interested. Whether or not there will be interest from other Spanish clubs or perhaps Russia we will need to wait and see.}

Ricky Van wolfswinkel could be a good replacement? YNWA

Van Wolfswinkel has signed for Nowich

Hi Ed1 I saw that in a recent post you mentioned that Liverpool were watching Alberto Botia.
You said you weren't too familiar with him, I have to say he is a cracking player and one of many la liga players I'd love to see in a red shirt including: Medel, Camacho, Griezman et al.
But, yes a very talented player indeed Ed1

Hi Eds,

If Liverpool were to finish in a similar position at the end of next season with not cup finals and a similar points total how many Liverpool fans would be happy to see BR in charge for a 3rd season?

And of course on the flip side we could win the league cups and my question will seem like a waste of time.

Marc {Ed002's Note - I have no idea, sorry. It is a question for Claude Alexander.}

As long as we didn't slip further down the league I would be happy to allow BR time to build a squad in his image. If we finish 7th next year and win nothing then a lot of fans will call for his head, but I can't help but think a new manager starts again from scratch and we never build for the future. Only through sticking with a manager for 5 years minimum can we hope to develop a squad that can challenge. Make no mistake we're currently not a top 4 side and with little funding and FFP coming in it's going to be very difficult to break into the top 4 going forward. I don't think there's many managers that would join Liverpool that are better than Rodgers at building on a budget.
MarkB

If we get off to a slow start next season, the calls for his head will be deafening by Christmas, never mind this time next season and rightly so.

Where's all this 'resting in possession' football and 'winning the ball back within 7 seconds of losing it' he promised?

Who's robbed his 180 page dossier on getting the club back on track, and does he know Rafa's waiting in the wings with a bigger, better 300 page dossier?

He's a joke, just like the owner's tread water intentions for the club while they wait in ernest for a stadium bailout.

And now that Count Duckula has had the lid on his coffin slammed shut until late Autumn, a duck-hunt with Buck as target looks even more likely.

Quack quack!

I wasn't a fan of Rodgers when he came in, however continual change is not a good thing. let's make one thing clear, no progress has been made no matter what people say. This season has been worse than last for those of us who follow the team every week. Top four and one trophy is basic requirement or Rodgers can go. End of.

25 Apr 2013 10:34:50
Ed what's the situation with the lad whom plays for dortumand No. 8, I don't rememeber his name. plays on the wings
scored 16 goals this season from the wide position.
thats very impressive.
any interest? {Ed002's Note - Gundogan may well be sold in the summer and there is interest from Rubin Kazan and Manchester City. However, with Goetze going a season before expected, Dortmund may wish to look again at their plans for the summer.}

I think he means Błaszczykowski ed

JC {Ed002's Note - Ok. Interest has been shown by Inter, Fulham, Lazio and Liverpool in the past but all enquiries for Blaszczykowski have been rebuffed with a "not for sale" statement.}

25 Apr 2013 09:56:33
Hi Ed's,

Just wondering, could you see Kolo Toure as a player Rodgers may possibly look at in the summer?

Apples '96' {Ed002's Note - No.}

25 Apr 2013 08:47:41
hi ed's is their any interest in İlkay Gndoğan, i'm sure I read somewhere that he covets a move to england or spain, this isn't champions league fever at all as I missed both matches this week, I feel he is overlooked a little compared with , Reus, gotze etc, also any interest in an italian, idfielder, I think his name is Nocereno / Noncerino.? I have been hearing very good things from army buddies who watch dortmund a lot. (in regards to İlkay Gndoğan) obv.

thankyou in advance for any response

Jft 96
ynwa {Ed002's Note - Gundogan may well be sold in the summer and there is interest from Rubin Kazan and Manchester City. However, with Goetze going a season before expected, Dortmund may wish to look again at their plans for the summer.

Milan's Nocerino has been subject to sustained interest from Napoli but is unlikely to move this summer.}

Thanks ed's

25 Apr 2013 08:13:20
As Lewandowski provided an excellent performance for Dortmund, interest will step up for him. With Manchester United already being interested in him, are there chances that Liverpool may have a slight chance of bring in Hernandez? He is a quality player but I am doubtful he would come to Liverpool? {Ed002's Note - I would very much doubt Hernandez will be moving to Liverpool this summer.}

25 Apr 2013 07:58:02
Hi Eds, I've been informed that we are close to signing Wanderson Costa Viana. 19yr old Brazilian winger.

The Red Snitch

Ajax (Amsterdam) will probably have first refusal

Hello Eds,
Yesterday a number of newspapers reporting Suarez would like to leave England. Any truth?
Personally now I feel it would be best for both the club and Luis to move on albeit at a reasonable price (say 40 million GBP).
Anyways, could Leandro Damaio be an option to replace Suarez?
I know you said we can't afford him as it is but surely if Suarez is sold we will have enough dough to get Damaio and Sanchez. {Ed002's Note - I am not going in to the issue of Suarez leaving at this time, but Damaio is actively involved in discussions about a transfer elsewhere, so I would doubt he will be an option.}

Who is Damiao involved with Ed002?

The real AG {Ed002's Note - Napoli.}

Whether it's true or not, the reports seem to stem from Tony Bennett of the times who first wrote last night that he was seeking to leave, without citing any comment from a Suarez or LFC representative. {Ed002's Note - Pere Guardiola will discuss options with the player and with the club.}

25 Apr 2013 00:15:20
Eds, Macca has stated that Carragher will be on the tv panel next season, is there any chance that he'll be given a coaching role at the club in the future? He seems like he'd make a great mentor as he's very vocal and is always eager to help others.
Also, how about adding Roy Evans to the attacking side of coaching? I remember we played some incredible football under him, just a little shoddy in defence.

Thanks. {Ed001's Note - Carragher will sit down and talk with the club in the summer, I very much expect he will be given that option if he wishes it. I would love Roy Evans back at the club, but it is very unlikely to happen, unfortunately.}

Jamie has at least seven offers to consider, TV work, playing and coaching. No management offers so far. He is finding it hard to choose, Brendan is very persuasive.

I think we should move on from carra.

How about Pako?

Of course we were shoddy in defense, we had James in goal and Friedel on the bench! Just imagine if we had realised what we had in Friedel.

Carra is definitely going to be working for Sky. Would have been announced this week but for LS. That's not to say he can't take on a coaching role too - Gary Nev combines Sky and England duties obviously. Two former Reds to be part of the BT line up too.

Bad news Guyz Pere Guardiola was told by club he can speak to potential suitors for Luis Suarez, this will be official within few days.

25 Apr 2013 03:41:47
I doubt this will be official but of coarse Suarez future will be clear within few days!

25 Apr 2013 06:13:10
Its interesting will know how our board is strong or will crumble infront of FA or media pressure and decide to sell Suarez!
