Sahin now officially signed after passing his medical. He was at the European cup final in Istanbul and witnessed first hand the passion of LFC supporters.

Great left footed signing and he sounds a gud lad too !

Tel 1949

Great signing,him allen and lucas all good on the ball like to keep possesion.play gerrard off suarez and the make up of the team is looking pretty good.

Great signing . All we need now is a proven goal-scorer , please please Mr Henry give Brendan some money to spend before the window closes.

Yep so passionate he only signed for the money in my eyes. Bring on the abuse!.

^^ Don't understand, he was happy to play for either club, but we offered more so what is your point? If he's happy to be here, want's to play football and is a good quality player I really don't see the problem.

When you go on loan you get the same money as before but your loan club pays a portion of it so how could he have moved for the money

Any body who wants to play football is welcome in my eyes. He has talent in abundance and wants to prove himself to Madrid. If he is going to use Liverpool to show he is good enough, that is fine by me, we get a pretty good deal in my eyes.

You guys are wasting your time taking that poster to task. Sahin signs for us and for that guy "it was only about money." if he didn't sign for us that same guy would complain that we "lost another one." some people just like to complain.

Works out around 10 million for a loan signing! Great bit of business by lfc

So many answers don't even make sense! Do you guys understand that Sahin (pronounced Shahin FFS!) has not negotiated anything to do with money? The only difference between our offer and Arsenal's is that we were prepared to pay 100% of his wage for the year whilst Arsenal were not! Stop believing all the crap you read in the papers or on the BBC's god-awful site...most media is now motivated by lazy journalism and sport is not exempt from this poor quality reporting...Thank God the Eds here run a fairly decent site contributed to by some genuinely involved people!

Shhhhhhh sahin / shahin - how can you tell if we're mis-pronouncing his name when all you're reading is the actual spelling of it? FFS get a life.

I get the feeling alonso / real (pronounced >Rey-al) / Rodgers had a massive influence over his signing. Who wouldn't rather play in the CL?

The comment on 'shhh' as opposed to 's' is made against the media and their laziness not againsty written comments so calm down and think before making ridiculous comments!

By the way I totally agree with your inciteful comment about Alonso's role in á¹¢ahin's choice...it make alot more sense than some of the madness that is spouted. Beyond this, Liverpool is an incredibly popular team in Turkey especially after our Istanbul exploits.

I think its a great loan signing, might he only be 1 year signing ( loan) but if this leads to challenging and reaching 4th. He may opt to join if he enjoys Liverpool or at the very least help us attract better players beacause we could be in CL

To the naive poster above who has told everyone how you pronouce Sahin on a rumour site that is written in text.... what a muppet. You can tell that these posters are not pronoucing it correctly when they are writting text and spelling it right can you?? You fool. 2, to think he has not moved for money is very naive; liverpool offered more of his wages but most deals have agent and player fees attached to them as well, hence we could offer more than Arsenal have done. However, you and nobody else but those who work with SAHIN and the club will know the full details and everything else remains speculation.

Again, what a muppet!

Sinister Red

If he helps get us in the cl it will be money well spent.If he is as good as reports suggest its players like him we need to get to back to where we want to be.Tommy Irish Red

No, we are not paying 100% of the wages, we are paying around 70% plus an add on fee.

Ed002 gave full details of the deal so stop being obstructive and rude.

Omg I was reading & it all got hostile. wassup with all the anger sinister? u shouldn't reply til u read all answers

Wow, I'm the 'naive poster'...sorry if what I wrote offended anyone but I did try to explain I wrote that about supposed jouros - definitely my bad. On the deal I might have read a reply by ed002 wrong but I put 2+2 together and it's feasible I got 5 when I thought I got 4.
Anyway, sorry again for the response I initially gave.

26 Aug 2012 20:21:21
@ sinister red. Why call someone a muppet when s/he goes on in a further reply to say the comment is not against any poster but against the media who aren't even decent enough to check on pronounciation anymore? A bit harsh I think.

Hi eds
Anychance we could hijack Al Ains move for michel bastos?competition for Enrique.
As I understand it talks have broken Due to the transfer fee.
Could be available for £6m
Thanks
Kyle {Ed005's Note - I can't see it although wouldn't mind Bastos on the left-wing for us.}

Welcome to LFC Nuri.

25 Aug 2012 20:38:56
hi eds, first time posting on this site
Can any ed tell me if this rumors are true:
-caroll to newcastle/totenham
-spearing to notts
-dempsey to liverpool
-nuri sahin to liverpool
-sturridge to liverpool
i would also like to ask if the adam johnson run ours to sunderland are true {Ed002's Note - All are possible and Sahin and Johnson have happened.}

Nuri is true others dont no

25 Aug 2012 20:14:05
Newcastle and liverpool have opened talks regarding carrol aston villa are being kept informed talks have also opened with sturridges reps

Thanks

Tom

And you heard this from BR did you?

The Plank

I hope not, i would rather have Carroll than Sturridge anyday

Pards has just given a post match interview with TALKSPORT which I have just heard and when they asked if Carroll was coming back he said "no I don't think so we are looking to bring in someone younger ". So that's that put to bed .It's either Villa or you keep him I would think but defo not Toon.

Why would they want someone younger? Carroll is only 23.

Actually I think Pards is refering to Adam Campbell the 17year old striker who played in the week for Toon .He looks to be a very good prospect. Think he means to play him in the first team more often.

Andy will NEVER agree to sign for Villa

It sounded better when posted it on Twitter

I'll keep this simple: Carroll is better than Sturridge. Keep AC.

Carroll is better than Sturridge? Carroll scored only 4 goals last season. Sturridge scored 11. Nearly 3 times the more. Why do people moan about Carroll so much? Isn't this disrespecting Rodgers? He simply has no plans for him. It's better if we sell him & get the money.

Ed any chance of Miroslav Stoch who plays for Fenerbache he would be relatively cheap and he averages a goal every other game and only 22 thanks in advance
LfcLiam {Ed002's Note - Obviously Miroslav Stoch is a player Rodgers knows well but I don't know of any interest at this time.}

25 Aug 2012 16:05:21
Ricardo quaresma to sign before the deadline for 7million. Bargain for the flare he can add to our team. {Ed002's Note - He is close to a move to Atletico Madrid right now.}

Flare?! LOL we shouldn't be playing with fire! Singred

Ha ha. that`s shut you up.

Funny boys with low iq who have nothing to say only leave stupid comments with no input only the crap above, go to ur bed!

Did he not play for chelski on loan at one point and was pretty poor ? and his work rate is not what BR is looking for

Never in a million years-hes going to spain-why do people make such bs up!

25 Aug 2012 16:02:36
Hi Ed, I know this isn't really Liverpool related, but I'm just wondering what happened to Palermo's summer spree? Did they ever come in for Suarez in the end? Cheers

DP {Ed002's Note - Aside from the 10M eurs or so on Dybala Palermo have only made a few minor signings. They had a bid together for Suarez and never submitted it. They remain interested in a number of players and have a significant pot of money available still.

25 Aug 2012 16:02:01
Great site - only rumours site worth reading and hats of to Macca for all those predictions (only need Tello now to complete the rout!)

Ed, Can you clear this up - have we signed Sahin with an agreement to buy at the end of the year or is it a pure loan deal?

RD {Ed001's Note - loan only, Sahin himself doesn't want to leave Madrid permanently. Never know though, a year with us may change his mind!}

Love to see it, perhaps if we win the league he will stay! xD

Hi, ed. a year with liverpool may also scar him for life.

Its quite possible he could fall in love with LFC and the city and want to sign permanent.

Gibzkit.

25 Aug 2012 15:44:23
Ed001 any news on the suso situation yet?

BenO' {Ed001's Note - not yet mate, not heard back yet, weekends are difficult to get hold of people, they are usually busy preparing for the game.}

Suso was watching the under 18' s today and looked very happy

Suso has got more vision and passing ability than anyone currently in the first team squad.

I'd love to see him get his chance with better quality players who would be able to read his passes.

I can't understand why he is not getting a chance in Europa League games at least. What have we got to lose and we might just unearth a gem?

25 Aug 2012 15:36:14
I live in Canada an I'm watching the Manks game... The presenters are certain that dempsey is going to sign for Liverpool. Anything emerged today Ed's that we should know?

Also the commentators are sayin sturridge looks "A real possibility"

Anything eds? {Ed002's Note - I think there is a very good chance that Dempsey will sign. As for Sturridge, if an acceptable bid is made and the kid wants to move Chelsea would not stand in his way as long as they had another striker or two in.}

Hope so,the guy will add some badly needed goals from midfield.

The problem for Sturridge is he might find himself in the same situation at Liverpool as Chelsea. If Dempsey arrives and Borini finds his feet quickly he might be on the bench a lot. Whether we are interested should be based on the price, as he has some drawbacks of which we are all aware (greedy). But if we only paid a small fee it would be good business for us and we would be more able to cope with the inevitable injuries that arise during the season.

25 Aug 2012 15:29:00
Ed are we interested in Sturridge

Limerick Red {Ed002's Note - Search engine.}

I tried searching for 'engine,' no results.

-Shane. {Ed001's Note - bet there will be now!}

The question should be 'Is Sturridge interesting?'

25 Aug 2012 15:14:54
Liverpool will consider a bid for Hector Herrera but only if Andy Carroll is sold.

But isn't Herrera a midfielder? Wouldn't we get another striker with that money?

Why wud we need another mid

Would be a total waste of money.

25 Aug 2012 13:38:45
Hi eds is there anything on the table for Carroll at the moment? Or do you see this running quite late on Friday.

Thanks
Mighty reds {Ed002's Note - Liverpool are struggling to find a buyer.}

Does this include Newcastle ed?

Thanks
Mighty reds {Ed002's Note - Man I thought the statement was clear.}

Strange...35 mill player still cant attract a decent club..and here fans are begging to give him another chance..
time to ship him out....

I'm glad we are struggling to find a buyer.
Campbell

Perhaps you need to lower the asking price nearer to his current value ,just a thought.

Clubs know we are desperate to get rid of him,so they'll just wait til the last day of the window,then put in a lower bid for him.

Carroll has done everything he can to show he's worthy of another chance. If we let him go for peanuts out of desperation it will be a disgrace.

For me anything much lower than 17mil, which is just under half what we got him for, wont be worth it. I dont expect a mega offer as he's done nothing at Liverpool to command that but if a fee between 14-17 comes in he should go. Its clear he's not gonna play much under Rodgers if he stays and his value is only gonna go down. However hope we dont get too desperate and let him go for cheap as he has potential. However I think right now we need short term fixes and Sahin and Dempsey could be a start. If we add Sturridge to that, that'd do us nicely.
DAni

Give AC until Jan, if still of the same opinion then sell him, but early in the window so we can get a replacement..

25 Aug 2012 12:37:24
reports are sunderland have had an £8M bid accepted for dempsey but frazier campbell could be involved in that deal .... looks like we gonna pinch another off you lot
SAFC

You got .. Adam Johnson ... Lololol. Lucky you ;]

Why would anyone want to swap Fulham for Sunderland?

8M for a 29 going on 30 year old is too much for me, happy to miss him on them terms.
Straight swap for Adam is what 'd conciser fair value, especially for a player with 10 months left on his contract.
Sign him on a pre contact in Jan if the player is interested and would hold out.

Yeah right ya stupid macom ! Who's the otha one u pinched ? Don't tell me Adam Johnson ?

Who else have you pinched?, we never bid for Johnson, and haven't bid for Dempsey.

Dempsey wouldn't move from ffc to safc. read "gaston ramirez says no to southampton" mate.

You need to sort your pitch out before buying players

Haha bloody hell, sunderland fans growing a pair all of a sudden. Mate we didnt want johnson you can keep him. All the talent in the world, but lazy, bad attitude, plays when he wants to. It says it all.

Ian the red

Wouldn't want Campbell though, not good enough for Liverpool. Just Dempsey will be fine aha.

Agreeing a fee is one thing, persuading him to sign for a club that has a game called off due to Warhogs on the pitch is something else!

The only thing you need to pinch off anyone is a trophy mate. How many years is it 40 or something next year, great club no wonder Johnson chose you.

Adam johnson>stuart downing

You got AJ because he wanted to go to SAFC, Dempsey doesn't want to go to you, his club don't want to sell to us!

The upshot will be a compromise on deadline day or he will see out his last year and go into free agency. Ged

He wants to go to Liverpool. With reference to Johnson, if he's that good why did Man City let him go?

Who cares. Wickham hasn't done much for you either. IMO neither are good enough for Liverpool! So your welcome.

If liverpool had really wanted johnson do you honestly think he would have chose sunderland ! he only had one choice

You need to pinch yourself lad ! small club is what you are wake up oh and by the way ever thought why henderson left you LOT !

Because connor wickham worked out so well yeah

You can bloody have him

Wow lol, you Liverpool fans are right dimwits. First off your calling Sunderland a small club when ye are the same level as them. Johnson is a brilliant player, much better than Dowing, and Man City let him go because they have alot of players who are as good, if not better than him. Henderson left them because Liverpool offered more than he was worth. And you guys are mocking Wickham? He's done just as much as Carrol has for Liverpool, which is **** all.

Please pinch Dempsey, and if the other you refer to is Johnson, then thank you

Does anyone remember last season when connor wickham won the league cup, and when he came on as sub in the f.a cup final? Oh yeah it was andy carroll! Oh well at least u mackems can enjoy the attractive and entertaining football o'niel will bring LOL more like zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz at stadium of rubbishe!

Come back when you have won a few more cups and get into finals and Europe..steven fletcher 10 million pounds my god you have been ripped

Mate Sunderland will never be on the same level as us you never win naff all and never will YNWA JFT96

I hope your right mate cos I don't want Dempsey at LFC

We didn't want AJ ! We already have a Geordie p*sshead in the squad and he ain't a lazy ballgreedy whiny little b*itch.

Rednick

Somebody saying sunderland are as big as liverpool, you are the dimwit. probably a man.u fan, jealous of the 5 champions leagues.

You are welcomr to him...

How the hell can someone say that Sunderland are as the same level team as Liverpool?? Just cos we have come 6th and 8th last couple of seasons, doesnt mean that we are now a below mid-table team like Sunderland are! If Liverpool were to come 18th in the league this season, w would still be able to attract better players than Sunderland! So if man utd come in 8th at the end of the season, they become a team on the level as Sunderland? You clearly a
Dumb*rse! Btw just cos fulham have accepted a bid from you, doesn't mean dempsey wants to go to you, it's quite clear where he wants to be. As for Johnson, we didn't put a bid in for him. There's a couple of reason why mancini sold him...too many better players ahead of him at man city, and his attitude in training and playing sucked!

25 Aug 2012 12:34:20
hey eds please answer

even though there is no option to buy with sahin if we make an offer next year do you think they may consider it? {Ed001's Note - the problem is not with Real Madrid, who were happy to agree a fee to sell him, it is him who does not want to leave them.}

Hopefully playing in front of the kop will swing him around

Playing every week,might just change his mind.I think the liverpool fans will love this guy,top player!.

Could he go back and alonso who will only have 1 year left on his contract come home......

25 Aug 2012 12:31:28
Liverpool have inquired about Hernandez, Utd have shot them down straight away. LFC are on the look out for a poacher.

25 Aug 2012 12:29:26
Do any of the eds know of how much we had to pay to real madrid for sahin and what % of his wages we are paying?
thanks! {Ed002's Note - Liverpool are paying £5M to the player including 2.8M euros for wages. There is then a loan fee to Real MAdrid (about 2.75M euro) plus VAT, agent fees and VAT on agent fees and insurance.}

Would i be right in thinking that adds up to around 10 million just for one year loan ed? {Ed002's Note - It will be a about 8 plus insurance in the end.}

Hi so thats about 10 million for a season
when we could of signed adam johnson on a 5 year deal for the same price {Ed002's Note - It will be a about 8 plus insurance in the end.}

This is the same player, whom arsenal had agreed a 2mil season for, so why have l/pool jumped in and offered more than double?? have they not learnt the mistakes of last year? A/C- 35 MIL, J/H - 20 MIL, and that other sh**e midfielder from b/pool - 8 MIL!! ONE VERY UNHAPPY FAN.................................................. {Ed002's Note - Arsenal agreed 2.8M euro for the player and then the 2.75M euro loan fee. Agent fees and taxes and insurance would still be due.}

No Ed's I'm sure its a £5 million fee to Madrid for the loan, then most/all of his wages which annually is approx. £2.2 million. £5 million to Sahin would be insane! Joe Cole got £2 million from us when he signed as a free agent and that was a ridiculous fee! {Ed002's Note - I have explained the costs. And you figure for Joe Cole's signing on fee is way out.}

So 5M all in including wages for the season. Not that bad. So is there an option to buy? Price agreed etc you know of? {Ed002's Note - The words were clear.}

And how does the ED know this?? i for one dont believe LFC would pay that on a loan....

Is he worth that for 1 season?

So arund 10m for a loan signing. I just hope he helps us get into top 4 .

It seems alot for a loan player to be honest, but if he helps us get top 4 who cares. Plus we wont have trouble offloading if it doesnt work ie Aqualani etc. gamble but not as big as it could be. Also £10million is the fee for Johnson plus wages and fees so not the same.
John Wigan

It's amazing how people can ask the Eds a question and if they don't say what they want to hear they jump on their backs and either try to tell them their wrong or they know nothing. Don't ask these things if you already prefer the answer your trying to convince yourself of.
Red Dog.

So are you saying that were paying sahin £5m + another 2.8m euros for his wages or is the 2.8mil euros included in the £5m? {Ed002's Note - The words are absolutely clear.}

£5 million for a year loan + loan fee to rm. Surely this money could have been better spent on a permanent transfer like Dempsey? this seems crazy if we have as tight a budget as is stated. We are flooded with mf players as it is and Sahin will need time to settle and get to know team mates surely Henderson or Shelvey can play this role? Dgb79

Why are we complaining about the finances? If LFC are comfortable with the deal we should be too!

The club has already demonstrated that they intend to be prudent in the market and with contracts, moving one big earner on this window will cover our outlay without the need for extra funding.

The other consideration we should have is all signings even star signings are risky, I'd a loanee gets injured he goes back to his club! We are going to see a lot more of this type of deal, it doesn't make us a smaller team just a smarter one! Ged

8 mill for one season, he better be worth it, that seems to be a bit of a panic loan now, he won`t entertain a perm move so we know it`s only one season, and we have no money !!

I'm guessing this ed is one of the bitter arsenal fans inflating the prices of everything to make it seem like we've been had, again. {Ed002's Note - I remain astonished by those not wanting the truth. Quite frankly it is not really worth explaining any financial matters when clearly cretins like you are not ever going to comprehend them.}

Its absolutely crazy money for a 1 year loan...you would expect to get Messi for 12 months at that price

Sahin will improve our starting 11 greatly and if he is the difference in getting champions league then he is definitely worth the money! I think this is a good bit of business! And to those who think its ridiculous amount of money, you really have no idea on the finances of player transactions.
RedRich

The issue is not his performance if he is bad. I think the issue will be what happens of he is good. Will we grow to be too rely on him?

So, we have a player on 10M for just a season and if he turns out to fully become a "star" player. We lose out on him??. Ed's you missed out a vital point as to why Arsenal didnt sign him. That point is that its because Arsenal wanted to have the option to buy him at the end of the season. Something Mourinho wouldnt stand. And i have also heard that he would have preffered the move to Arsenal than to us but was "lured" in by our better wage packet and overall better deal. Then we must ask, what happened to the "We wont be held to ransom" act that was in place. 10M for a player who is injury prone and slightly faster than Adam is way too much and the sickening fact that its JUST a loan is ridiculous. Sahin may be a great talent but he sure doesnt warrant that 10M estimated loan, infact i dont really rate that highly to even be worth 10M on loan. At best his loan must be about 3-6M. If thats the case, then let us imagine Messi was out injured a whole season, so much so that the coach wanted to loan him, how much would he cost the club being loaned out to, 15-25M?!?!?!?... For all his talent, the only way im going to call it a good deal is IF we have the option to buy at the end of the season. Arsene Wenger was thinking "long term", while we are jus thinking of this season. This is my view, i mean no offence to the ed's in any way....

Most of the time on here people are moaning that we're not buying $20 mil + players and paying the wages that accompany them. We sign a world class player on loan for around 8mil all up for the year and people are saying it makes no sense. To put it in perspective v persie, aguero

Continued from last post...
Aguero, David silva etc all earn 8-10 mil a year in wages alone. Never mind their signing on fee etc.

Seems like reasonable business to me if he gets us into the top 4

Swish

Yes aguero, silva etc are all on wages similar to the fee we are paying but they are on a permanent contract with sell on value, Unless he settles very quickly this is a big risk to loose circ 5 - 10 mil. To the person who said people don't understand the finances of deals - get real we are not in a great financial position to make transfers that we need and I don't think 1 midfielder is going to turn us into champions league contenders! Dempsey is quoted as being available at £8 mil + his wages etc and we are arguing over this - he scored a lot of goals in the premier league. Dgb79

Not that i believe anyone will pay any attention to this but what we have paid would most likely normally be reported in the media as £2.75million signing fee, £2.8m per year wages. The media often overlook the insurance costs, bonus payments etc unless they want to make headlines from ultra high wages as with Beckham. We have to pay insurance on all of our players and these are not included in the wages. Another figure often overlooked by the media are agent fees, when a player signs a contract the agent that brokered the deal takes a fee in the same way as an accountant or lawyer would. For instance Suarez's agent would have received a similar fee to what we are paying Nuri Sahins agent. Taxes are another of the many things the media overlook or don't overlook depending on how they want to shape a headline. Many of you appear angry at the way that the fee has been displayed but this sort of money is what we would pay for most players when they are being paid 120k per week. All of these variables are why when the back pages are printed they often show different but similar amounts some don't include tax some add on the agents fee some just tell you the actual transfer fee without the added costs and very recently there is a trend to print for example "Modric moves to Madrid for £50m" because they added his wages to the fee. In conclusion what we are paying is a little bit more than what Arsenal had offered but is nothing unusual.Thanks ed for the info.
Rusty

He's on £115,000 a week at madrid. over £5million a yr , so why is it so bad we pay just over £8mill ? when ya take into account agent fees and insurance ain't bad .
add that on to the £14mill sign on fee at end of year. then £21mill isnt bad for a player of his calibre. i know it adds up to £26mill but £5mill is for years wage .

rednick {Ed019's Note - there is no sign on fee at the end of the year}

Sorry ed.....meant £14mill option to buy. I know there might not be one .... But until brendan tells me there ain't one I'm hoping there is !

Rednick

May aswell have just bought him permenately

7m+ to lease a player Real only payed 8m for. And I though Rick Parry was an person

25 Aug 2012 12:27:59
ed002 - Matias Fernandez? are we even interested? {Ed002's Note - Zero chance. Nada. Not a hope.}

He just joined fiorentina

He signed for fiorentina one month ago

Hi Ed's - have Liverpool as second favourites to sign Huntelaar behind MU. With them getting RVP do you think there is a chance we could put in a bid for 'the hunter' if Carroll eventually goes??

Cheers. {Ed002's Note - I think it unlikely at this time.}

Why on earth do people continually harp on about hunterlaar. he is NOT GOOD ENOUGH! we shouldnt b lookin anywhere near him!

Hello Eds,
what about Dempsey, do you reckon we will eventually get him ?
Also if Carroll is sold do you reckon there is a chance of Sturridge ? {Ed002's Note - I think there is a very good chance of Dempsey. If an acceptable offer were put to Chelsea for Sturridge and he wanted to moive then the club, assuming they have a replacement, would not stand in the way of a move. As of a week ago, Liverpool had made no approach to Chelsea about Sturridge.}

Didn't old whisky nose state yesterday that MU would not be signing anybody else this window.

Red-pie

Huntelaar was available two seasons ago and would have been great for LFC last season. They should get him now as he will definitely improve the first team and will give LFC attacking options.

He crops up a fair bit during transfer season, but why? The club has never officially shown interest and I dont think he is strong enough for the premier league. He is not the solution. We need firepower, a good old fashioned goal hanger, in the right place at the right time, even if the goals are not spectacular, you would take a "toe in" over no goal at all!

"he's not good enough"

lol.....so RVP amount of goals in the Bundesliga, aka more goals than Mario Gomez, isn't good enough for Liverpool FC? lmao he almost outscored our whole team last season

If we will buy all now then what we will do in January transfer window.
holy_red

Man Utd have Rooney, RVP, Wellbeck, Hernandez and Berbatov up front, why on earth would they be interested in Huntelaar?

25 Aug 2012 11:22:54
Ed. Don't post often. Never made main page.

So the obvious mids out are Adam downing and spearing. I feel these players are not upto the standard we expected them to deliver.

Sahin. Good signing just hope he is the player we miss in midfield. Is there a buyout clause that the gooners had on the table, £14 mil I think.

And for the sake of the club. Sell Carroll to fund sturridge and Dempsey and I think we can be competitive, let's face it, BR has to over with what he was left, so all I need to be satisfied is competitive.

Carroll is a more better option than Sturridge. Absolutely ridiculous request. Carroll is very dangerous in the box, has a very powerful shot, can score outside the box with it and causes real problems to the defenders. His only problem is his mobility. I think he will be a huge asset this year. People want him gone because of the 35 mil. It is not his fault and we should forget about that price and move on with him.

U can sell carroll to make us competitive yes, but not by buying sturridge

Kaizer

Its no wonder your posts never made it. Your just following the same herd and jumping on the morans bandwagon. Adam, downing and Spearing, along with carroll are all good players, despite what the trolls on here keep saying.

we need these players in our squad if we are to succeed. Its not all just about the high profile players, we need strength in depth and these players give us precisely that.

get off the players backs and try supporting for a change...

a very agitated....

Tel 1949

Tel, I think Carroll will become good with Liverpool and I expect us to sell him for 50mil when it comes to that, or he will be a legend like Stevie.

I'm quite pleased with Adam, especially his passing but not his tackles. He always give away fouls at dangerous position.

For Downing, he makes decent crosses in, it's just that no one is at the end to receive it. Can't really fault him.

As for Spearing, I don't think he is good enough for Liverpool. He has not impressed me. I think he should go.

How much would Erik Lamela coat and are we interested? {Ed002's Note - Lamela will not be moving to Liverpool.}

Good call ive always thought he was a good player before he moved to roma but cant see it mate theres some third party ownership with him or some crap like that lol

ACHILLES.

Would also cost 20m+ as hes on a 5 yr contract and only moved a year ago

Any word on a LB for competition to Enrique? I think we are a bit light in that position. Aly cissokho?
Thanks
Kyle {Ed002's Note - Cissokho has moved to Valencia.}

Thought Robinson had a great game at left back against hearts
John

Robinson clearly not ready for rodgers.Shame that aly went for only 4.7

Robinson is JE understudy for the season. Johnson also with Kelly coming in on the right and Agger is cover if we get really streched. So I'd have to disagree we're short there.
Spending money futher up the pitch should and is priority

I agree with John, Robinson looked very sound. He won't improve unless he is played. He is the cover for Enrique.

I think we have enough LB to cover for Enrique with robinson having played a great game against hearts and flanagan a good replacement for robinson

Morning eds, just a quick 1 now that we seem to have signed sahin, do u think centre mids will be shipped out? Coz we have Lucas,Allen,gerrard,shelvey,Henderson,spearing,Adam.?? Cheers

KingKenny {Ed002's Note - As I have said, I expect one or to to come and go. Adam and Spearing perhaps from midfield.}

Is Carroll an expected departure from strike force?

Adam must go, he is awful at tracking players and missed loads of runners against hearts. He will never make the grade as he is slow in all aspects of play. spearing - it is sad to see a local lad leave, but the team is more inportant -all the best to spearo. Henderson is going to be a top player, shelv need to be loaned for game time as that is all he lacks - game exp. cole if he stays fit could do a job on the right side, if a good deal pops up for him sell and replace. Would like to see Big Andy stay and fight, think he could suprise a few.

What about Lewandowski? Any chance we could snaffle him? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Why Not Ed002? What if we sold carrol for say, 15M and then offer 25M for him?
opinions...
D2 {Ed002's Note - Throwing up random names of players that the club has shown no interest in is simply clutching at straws.}

Heard a rumour from a friend who claims to be itk with Chelsea that we have submitted a 15 million bid for Sturridge, apparantly they are buying Hulk for 40 big ones.

Ratty888

Why would we offer that much, don't think he's worth even 10m at the moment..or maybe you meant 15 million euros?

I'm trying so hard to stop thinking about the possibility of selling Carroll and replacing him with Sturridge. Not a smart move people.

After capturing sahin (great deal), it looks like we will make 1 more signing in Dempsey if we do. Otherwise we will have to wait for sales from players such as Adam,Spearing and Andy

Please Post.

Sahin is a great player but its a bad deal

Hearing rumours of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar in discussions with Liverpool, Any eds aware of this? {Ed002's Note - No.}

I posted this yesterday evening:
I saw Huntelaar being interviewed on Dutch Television News about the new season in the Bundesliga which started this evening. He is very happy where he is and I don't think that he will be leaving Germany any time soon. He's not good enough for Liverpool, anyway.
Dutchmal

Dutchmal, I posted the earlier rumour I wasn't convinced myself but someone who seems to be more often right that not told me so I thought I see if eds had heard anything.

Hi eds please please can u post as I have asked twice before in what the situation of Leandro damiao I believe he is the goals corer we are looking for. how much would he cost and Is there any interest in him. If we could get him and sahin on Loan I don't see why we can't get top 4 your opinions ??

Bangor eye dave YNWA {Ed002's Note - Leandro Damiao remains of interest to several clubs including Spurs, PSG, Roma, Sporting Lisbon, Inter Milan and Juventus. Lyon, Arsenal and Barcelona seem to have dropped any interest they had in the player. January 2013 may be a more likely time to move than the summer although with rejected bids from Spurs and PSG. Roma or Juventus may force a summer move - and these remain the most likely destinations right now. So no acceptable bids but perhaps a flurry of activity will happen. His club value him at an unrealistic 60M euro and don't want to sell.}

BR told Liverpool Echo that the transfer budget is allready used, so I guess that leeves us with the players we've got unless we sell to free up some fund...

T23Hero

It could mean that - but it could also mean he is being smart. Saying we have got limited funds means we have more of a chance of making a deal at a lower price.

It could even be a combination of both. Or I could be talking rubbish. You decide.

TSP

I decided that you are indeed talk sense, no actually it's rubbish, no actually I don't know.

We hear this every season,that we're pretending to have no or little money to spend,so other clubs wont increase there prices.Sad truth is we really dont have any money to spend!.Our owners clearly aint prepeared to put money in to help us kick on.Strikes me as hicks and gillett again with better PR.....

If we just manage to sell Carroll we'll get some money. Sorry fans, but it's time we got behind Rodgers & his tactics & stop moaning about Carroll.

BROCK LESNAR

Could not agree more with the last post. Get behind the manager and get behind the team.

Hi eds. if Carroll leaves, is there any chance we might be interested in Rafael van der Vaart?

Thanks

C-mac {Ed002's Note - I would not think so.}

We should have got him when he was available last time. Still much better than Cole, Maxi, Henderson, Downing, Adam etc. Class player.

I hope not..he cant move

You are joking - too old, can't run, and a loser

Any chance of us swooping in for Ramirez now that his negotiations with Southampton have broken down, and a website is reporting that he is threatening to stop playing for Bologna to force a move elsewhere? I know it's a longshot.

Im afraid we dont have the cash bologna is askin... id love ramirez in red jersey though, will be a class player

I know it wouldn't look good but hopefully after we sign Sahin on loan, we can then sign Dempsey and Ramirez before the window shuts, maybe sell a few players, possibly Spearing, Adam, Downing. Sadly it looks like Carroll will go and i hope not but Agger also might be off (City are failing with bids for a CB all over, makes me think they'll return with a £20m-£25m).

Both Ramirez and Dempsey are tamping their feet and want to leave for bigger clubs, i do not know if Liverpool are interested in Ramirezbut they bleeding well should be, i'd loan out Henderson to improve his game, he's got massive potential, just struggling, i'd ideally want him at Villa, as i rate Lambert's tactics and would do Henderson and us for next season very well and Villa for the now would benefit as Lambert can't move in the market for lack of funds as he claims. A stitch in time really could be a good thing, or we could just sell him for £7m or something just as low, if we're lucky.

What is everyones obssesion with this player if he was that good someone would of paid the money for him
Lfclee

Persons who doesnt respect or hounor their contracts doesnt appeal to me.

Wrong. FSG do have cash its just FSG have gone from stating investment into great young players and the squad to compete - too balance the books and exist on revenue but expect to be in top four each year. How that is expected when both Mancs, Chelski and Spurs spend heavy...Thank Comoli and Kenny for showing them £100mil buys you nothing so they would splash again. No Ramirez, Walcott, AJ, Dempsey. What has been spent this summer comes from sales and kit deal nothing from FSG. Notcie BR has gone from 3 or 4 including one STAR signing after Allen was nailed on to Assaidi and a loan deal with no buy on..

Yes it's sad that there is a class player up for grabs at about the same money we paid for Downing and we just can't afford him. I am afraid until we can compete in the transfer market with city, utd and Chelsea then we will always be fighting for 4th at best.

Why don't we have the cash for a player we've been after all summer? Warrior kit deal, winning the league cup, US tour FSG investment? Why are Sunderland spending more than us? Add Spurs to that if they sign Willian, Also West Ham if they do end up with AC. Like the last window, FSG not prepared to invest - even in their own policy of buying young gifted players who will be world class.

{Ed006's Note - We spent around £100m last season on average players so I am sure they are reluctant to spend. Just give the whole regeme a bit of time, dont fire from the hip and see what happens.}

Spurs r getting 30m for modric they r not spending as big as some people on here suggest, they r just like us no cl have to spend wise we all have to realise we are outa cl 3 years now and fair play rules on the way.Tommy Iriysh Red

The 100 million we spent last season was mostly made from selling players. The overall financial investment from the board in players has been vey small if any. We did make some shocking buys last season though.

So what do you do just leave the hundred mill in the bank once the players are sold or trust the manager with the money? what are people sugesting they add more money ontop of whats already been wasted? untill they get at least some of it back for the club?

Lfc is also a business, it has to be in order to survive we are not a rich mans tax toy.

Eds has Theo Walcott signed a new deal yet or is he still on the cards {Ed005's Note - No new deal yet mate however talks are still going on with Arsenal. I think we need to see how that goes before thinking about Walcott.}

With the cash we have :s

Not good enough not LFC stanard, hope he dont sign

Oh yes he is, but Wenger has played him out of position on the right wing. Theo is a natural born striker. I'd love it if we bought him and played him as striker. Red hot pace, good shot, boyhood Liverpool fan, Theo would be a great signing.

"Not good enough not LFC stanard, hope he dont sign"

Rubbish! Have your forgotten what Theo did to us a few seasons ago? Is Messi wrong when he said Theo is a very dangerous player? I'd rather take the opinion of Messi than you. If he thinks Theo is that good I believe him!
