According to reports lemar is back on. Apperently (all reports refer to yahoo as their source) we reached an agreement with lemar.

I don’t give them too much credit as some said “either this month or summer signing” as most of them just want to say “look we were right about it” but I’m still interested if any of the Ed’s has heared anything.

Also I don’t expect any new signings this month (as the month almost over and it’s very unlikely that someone will allow a starting player to move that late) but maybe something in the summer.

I seen some things saying that if Monaco can get a replacement in then the deal will be done.

I read we’ve agreed terms with Lamar but we still haven’t agreed a fee with Monaco. To me it’s media BS or Klopp is still tapping up cause I’m sure you can’t agree terms with the player without agreeing terms with the club first. I’ll be very surprised if we sign anyone else this window and couldn’t care less if we don’t. We’re slowly building a squad capable of challenging for the title and I believe it’ll all come together next season. Klopp has deliberately aquired players to push us on: probably in the wrong order as defence and GK should of been sorted first but I’m putting £100 on us winning the league next year. Remember Klopp said if he’s still here in 3 Years time then he’s won the league. I believe he’s been building for this. Anyone want to match my £100 and we’ll create a pool. It’ll be fun.

I agree with your assessment of the media's role on this and many other scoops they claim to have - click bait and all that!
I also was under the impression for many years that buying clubs can't "agree terms" with moving players until both clubs agree a fee, but apparently I was wrong.

Seemingly, as long as the player himself wasn't directly involved in negotiations with the buying club and instead a representative, parent or agent or so on did it on their behalf, this seems to be okay to the rule makers.
If true, I personally believe it's a ridiculous rule - for me, you either can or cannot negotiate full stop, there should be no in between, but remember these are dinosaurs making these rules and the same dinosaurs who make countless other rules up to line their pockets - don't even get me started on that one!

Seen this in various media, and not just for LFC.

In this instance, it would mean that either we've been speaking through his reps, or the club has been given permission, we just don't know about it. Or he has been tapped up, but let's not be cynical just yet.

The Lemar rumours are just weird. One of the parties is probably trying to use the media for whatever reason. If it's from Liverpool then it's probably a smokescreen for something else. I can't see why Monaco or Lemar's representatives would be putting out rumours unless they want a bidding war? Just doesn't seem likely.

Of course, it could just be some kids looking for attention.

Thanks for putting me straight guys. Seems odd you can talk to the players representatives but not the player himself. Just seems like a tapping up loophole If you ask me but I don’t make the rules.

Nabil Fekir should be the target anyway irrespective of lemar. The guy is quality and should me much cheaper than lemar. We won't win anything though without a decent keeper.
