25 Jul 2011 22:37:51
Hi ed, I, be been a regular for a long time now and I visit this site many times through the day and I admire your contribution and your contacts but regarding aquilani I can tell you that Liverpool will never loan him again, he will be sold probably 8m euros being paid in 2or 3 years.thanks and keep doing this great job. Thanks MALTA. {Ed002's Note - That was one of the options mentioned before.}

25 Jul 2011 22:37:31
why r we not going 4 Paulo Henrique Ganso

Paulo Henrique Chagas de Lima (born 12 October 1989)[2] commonly known as Paulo Henrique Ganso or Ganso, is a Brazilian footballer who plays for Santos. In 2009, he received a nomination for the Brazilian Football Confederation award for "Breakthrough Player" of the Campeonato Brasileiro S rie A, given to the best rookie of the competition

LUCIS did the same thing {Ed002's Note - Zip chance of Ganso moving to Liverpool - he looks very much AC Milan bound sometime in the next 11 months. Sorry.}

25 Jul 2011 22:34:23
Liverpool are looking to Sevilla's Diego Perotti to be the final piece of the jigsaw after a year of investing in the squad {Ed002's Note - They'll need to be quick as he is nearling a transfer to Juventus.}

Trained at the Stade d'Abidjan, Victorian Angban is en route to Liverpool FC . A memorandum of agreement was reached on Monday between the three parties. After the traditional medical visit, the international Ivory Coast U17 commit for five years with the Reds . Angban Victorian was the expedition of the U17 selection of Ivory Coast at the last World Cup, Mexico. The Elephants were eliminated by the team of France in the knockout stage (3-2). Just like Souleymane Coulibaly, top scorer in the competition (9 goals), who signed for Tottenham, young players Ivory Coast managed to entice several observers of English football.

Was in Alma de Cuba yesterday having lunch. David Ngog was on a table close to us, i went over and got a autograph for my son and i asked if he was staying and he said he not going anywhere and he thinks Kenny is great. He said he loves it here and he is staying. Truth.

Could you give any info if possible about when the new season tickets are going to be available for collection. {Ed002's Note - I am sure one of the regulars must know - common guys.}

25 Jul 2011 21:42:54
Hi Ed, how far have we gone with our interest with Godin I think he would be an excellent signing? Also is there anything in the alvaro pereira rumours? He is a good player but I don't think he would solve our LB problem he seems to be better going forward Dub Red {Ed002's Note - There seems to be interest in Alvaro Pereira and Godin but it is pretty speculative right now. It is another case of a lot being read in to an enquiry. Details of any confirmed follow up to the enquiries are scant.}

25 Jul 2011 21:40:52
Aquilani most probably of our wage bill now and hopefully Insua, Ngog, Poulsen and Jova to follow...

Lets just get rid of them quickly in order to make space for a much needed CB and LB. Not sure if Dalglish will add anymore players to our midfield unless Maxi or Cole are moved on but you never know, we might be in for some surprises.

If Fulham want Poulsen let's have a go for Hangeland, he was class last season when they came to Anfield . Good in the air reads the game well and has good feet .........

Red Shed {Ed002's Note - Yeah, but 30 and expensive.}

25 Jul 2011 21:38:05
I just want to remind everyone that Aqua won't be leaving Liverpool because his agent said so.

Kidding obviously but I thought it should be stated one more time for maximum comic effect. Ed002 you have been awesome throughout this whole garbage pissing contest with fantasy football players / random idiots. thanks for breaking every legitimate story before anyone else does. This site is great. {Ed002's Note - Post of the Day}

25 Jul 2011 21:15:37
Ed I've read the posts and I'm just wondering is aqua to fioritina a loan definitely? And are you able to confirm if it's done or is it imminent? {Ed002's Note - Everything I know - concluding at Nice airport this afternoon has been posted. Any details changed toward the end of negotiations (after the German Grand Prix party that was attended yesterday afternoon and over lunch today) I know nothing in detail of.}

25 Jul 2011 21:10:15
i reckon if fiorentina want aquilani we sould make a deal aquilani plus £10 million for juan manuel vargas, and if bolton want ngog then we should offer ngog plus £15 mill for cahill...what you think eds {Ed002's Note - Not sop sure about Bolton but that stage has already been passed with Fiorentina.}

25 Jul 2011 19:34:49
Reports in Italy say the Aqua deal to Fiorontina is complete

25 Jul 2011 19:32:09
Hello, just been informed by a good friend and a reliable source that Raul Meireles will remain on the wage he is on and stay at LFC :) {Ed002's Note - He'll be over the moon then won't he.}

25 Jul 2011 19:31:45
442 mag reports that enrique has verbally attacked newcastle board by claiming that the loss of carroll and nolan and the lack of spending of the money they have received has caused players to want to leave newcastle. He also stated that he has not been offered more money to sign and extend his current deal> he claims the major players have now. Seems even more certain he will be gone sooner now.

Evening EDs : Can you tell me please are the rumours regarding N'gog to Bolton and Poulsen to Fulham true or, just BS. Thanks {Ed002's Note - They are true.}

25 Jul 2011 20:25:24
Ed a question to you forget what club is upto regarding aqua but as in your view does this not get under your skin that here is a player who is without doubt talented but not suited to our league and how we are getting robbed.this will be his second loan and we have lost lots of money on him.does it not show how even a class palyer somewhere else never settles in england.I hope you understand what my point is.
Red indian {Ed002's Note - I would figure that Aquilani would of had a much better chance of settling if he had been able to get involved with the team and integrate himself. He was never afforded that chance due to injury. The lesson is not to buy players who are already injured. There have been other players over the years who have not settled, it is one of those things and clubs have to accept that they have to move on. It will always be tough to get back a decent return.}

25 Jul 2011 19:54:48
Eds,

Is my reading on the situation correct that we are not looking to make any new signings until certain players are moved on ? Aquilani, Degen, Insua, perhaps Poulsen. And, let's suppose that these are moved on, am I right in saying we will be looking towards a central defender above anything else?

I have the feeling that a right winger (hence all of the Navas rumours) is not a priority as Kuyt will be playing there, left wing we now have Downing and Maxi, strikers are covered (so no more of this Aguero bull), and left back is in KK's eyes cover through youngsters, Fabio and Johnson.

So whilst I personally would love to see one more winger come in who has pace, power and trickery in abundance to play on the right, I sadly can simply rule this out as not being a club prio.

YNWA Thanks for the reply Eds.

Andy {Ed002's Note - I would guess a CB is next and forget Navas, that will not happen.}

25 Jul 2011 19:06:59
Hay Ed, can you please answer, could you tell me what the plan is with Aqulani, loan or permanent deal. Please please Please PLEASE answer Ed. Thank you so much for everything, we deeply appreciate your hard efforts, and keep going the way you are going at the moment. {Ed009's Note - The deal on the table as of today was this: a 5 year contract at around 42k euros per week for Aquilani. The first year of which being a loan with Fiorentina paying Liverpool 1M euros for the loan and Liverpool paying an agreed amount of his wages (likely around half) during the first year. At the end of the season, the transfer will become permanent. The transfer fee will be the payment of a further 10M euros. Roma will be paid 0.5M euros by Liverpool on the completion of the transfer plus any performance bonuses that fall due under the terms original agreement.}

25 Jul 2011 18:39:18
Whats this about monte carlo? {Ed009's Note - Comolli was in Monte Carlo negotiating the Aquilani deal. He is now returning to England having finished those negotiations.}

25 Jul 2011 18:38:39
hi ed, whats the chances of adam johnson or jovetic coming to liverpool? thanks YNWA {Ed009's Note - slim for both. There is a chance that Johnson will be available if City sign a replacement as Mancini doesn't want him, and Johnson doesn't want City anymore. Normally that would mean nothing to City's board but Mancini has gained power in his position since he won the FA Cup and secured a top 4 berth. We are not looking for another winger right now though, so it is pretty unlikely. There was interest in Jovetic under Benitez but none since his bad injury.}

25 Jul 2011 18:35:31
Ed, do you know if we are still interested in Enrique? I heard that he has 'fallen out' with newcastle..? I think he would be a decent buy for the right price. He has 1 year left on his current contract and newcastle will want rid of him if he has fallen out with the club. So i think we could get him for about 7-9 million pounds. Also any interest in Godin? Suarez could play a good role in persuading him to join. {Ed009's Note - Enrique has pushed himself into a situation where it is very hard for him to remain at Newcastle any longer. He craves Champions League football and seems to be waiting on an offer from Arsenal, which doesn't appear forthcoming. I suppose there is still a possibility that Liverpool could bid. Godin is definitely a possibility as there does appear to be interest, but it will have to wait until after some of the unwanted players are offloaded.}

25 Jul 2011 18:32:32
{Ed002's Note - Comolli has finished negotiations in Monte Carlo and is returning to England this evening. I am sure there will be news soon.}

25 Jul 2011 17:41:18
I think aquilani will complete a season long loan deal to fiorentina and I think we should bid 10 m plus ngog for Gary Cahill to open up the bidding but I think we will definitely sign a new defender and if we shift players I think we could see a couple more signings but we will not spend a huge amount more than 30m no matter what happens

25 Jul 2011 17:35:58
Hi eds, I was just wondering if yous know of any interest from other clubs In Cole? He was awful against hull on sat and the sooner hes gone the better {Ed009's Note - I am afraid I am not so sure the player will leave at all.}

25 Jul 2011 17:30:04
hi eds .now that bolton have pulled out the race for jefferen and are now going for ngog do you see us now bidding for jefferen.thanks {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

25 Jul 2011 16:09:48
just saw a rumour linking Christian Poulsen to Fulham for 1.5 million. Hope, this rumour has legs. Would be great to see him shipped out, soon. Any idea about this one, ed? Thanks alot...

25 Jul 2011 16:07:02
Hi people
I will warn you now my source is a new one to me so trustworthy i do not know however he claims to have links inside the club. He suggests the following deals are all close to their completion although may not necassarily be finalised soon due to "complications"
Poulson - 1.5m
Aquilani - 11.75m
N'gog - 5.5m
Pacheco - loan (with option to buy 1.7m)
Jovanovic and Degen - free
Insua -0.3m (rising possibly to 0.75m)
Elzhar - 0.5 (rising to 1.1m)
I will repeat i don't know about the source and am only posting because to me they are all strong possibilities.
He also mentioned if we sign Cahill/Dann (an expensive cb) it will be at the expense of Skrtel who will be offloaded. Young CB are the preference however i feel we are well catered for in terms of young cb.

Good news about mata in my eyes. Hopefully keeps him there till we can return next season a better prospect in Europe (hopefully) Ed just another question here. I know your views on Honda etc, but my question is can Honda be used as an out and out striker as well as essentially the whole midfield? Would be a super buy in my eyes. Great player {Ed002's Note - Honda has often played as a striker.}

25 Jul 2011 15:18:28
arda turan will become a liverpool player after the friendly against galatasaray, were he will bid a final farewell to his adoring fans from turkey. KK'S EAR HAIR.

25 Jul 2011 14:32:49
hey ed, love the site.just a quick question regarding aqua, why would we loan him out again, as juve went back on their word regarding a permenant move.what makes us so sure foirentina wont do the same thing.? {Ed002's Note - He may be loaned out as nobody he would be willing to move to wishes to buy him at the price Liverpool want (10M euros). It is as simple as that.}

25 Jul 2011 13:47:14
Do you think we will let Dani Pacheco go? I cant see the reasoning behind letting a 20 year old who has been capped at all youth levels for Spain without giving him a proper chance. Maybe a season long loan to a team in the EPL but other than that surely it would be silly to let him go and we could end up regretting it. {Ed002's Note - I don't expect you will see Pacheco return to Liverpool after the U20 World Cup.}

25 Jul 2011 13:12:37
Hello ed, A lot of news regarding N'gog and Poulsen with bolton and fulham interested respectively. But they are some way regarding valuations. Could we see selling both of them since they woul raise min 5mil or more and clear wage bill. Could u put some info on this. THANKS {Ed002's Note - Both could well be sold. I expect the club will certainly be pleased to see Poulsen leave and if the right club comes in at the right price then Ngog could also go.}

25 Jul 2011 12:37:22
ed wat r da chances of signin bryan ruiz, scott sinclair, honda, abidal, di maria

top players i fink we could by ruiz, sinclair n honda 4 bout 30 m n abidal on a free den would b awesome {Ed009's Note - Abidal - too old, too expensive after signing a new contract. Di Maria, similarly expensive, although he could interestingly become available depending on the signings Madrid make, Chelsea are a fair outside bet as a destination. We may well have missed any chance we had for Honda in January when he was readily available for 12 million. He would have been an excellent solution to both striker and winger problems, but it is now the middle of the season in Russia, he would cost around 20 million in all likelihood and the player has a preference for Spain or Italy. Ruiz and Sinclair are quite feasible, but I don't know of any interest from us and so would say they won't be joining.}

25 Jul 2011 12:18:36
Serious interest in dann and a striker, neither will be bought unless all the "deadwood" is removed which is a serious problem at the club as of right now. The striker I hear we after is rodallega but there is also interest in others , no left back this window , options will be looked at again in January. mr deeds

25 Jul 2011 12:18:08
Eds - Do you think we should try and get Arda Turan, as 1. He is avaliable. 2. He is a Liverpool fan and publicy declared he wants to play for us. 3. He can play on the wing, attacking mid and off the striker, so if as expected we cash in on Aqua and Miereles, than we will save on the wages and it wont cost us a penny.

BigD {Ed002's Note - Arda Turan will move this summer and looked Atletico Madrid bound, perhaps the move is awaiting Aguero to be sold so that funds are available, but now things appear to be changing. Dortmund, apparently, remain interested but Villarreal and Spurs appear have dropped any interest that they had. I suspect Valencia and Chelsea are keeping a watchful eye on matters but to try and persuade Chelsea to let go of Drogba, Galatasaray have rather surprisingly offered up Arda as part of the deal. Gala have also offered him to Juve. I have no idea why Liverpool have not followed up the interest they previously had in the player.}

Aquilani is closing on a return to Italy with Fiorentina increasingly confident they can agree a season-long loan for the midfielder.

25 Jul 2011 11:43:08
Fiorentina offer to take Aqualani on LOAN according to the Daily Mail:

Liverpool have a surfeit of midfielders and Aquilani flew to Florence for talks.

Franco Zavaglia, the player's agent, said: "Aquilani is still a Liverpool player. However, we have to understand what the project is there and speak with them.

"After we will evaluate things. I don't know if there is an agreement already between the two clubs."

25 Jul 2011 11:13:15
why are people posting in rumours concerning Gary Cahill quoting prices like 15-25million?its nearly the end of July and he's in the last year of his contract.Bolton will be biting the hands off anyone willing to pay 10million by mid august, they simply wont be able to turn it down...what about the Uruguayan kid Coates as another option for centre back?had a storming Copa America...

25 Jul 2011 10:35:50
I don't know where this site gets its info (mercopress.com. a south american news site) but this is on it this morning
...'Forlan also completed a three generation family record: together with his grandfather Corazzo, his father Pablo Forlan they have all won the Copa America. (this this unique?).

Uruguay not only received the prize to the Most Valuable player (Su rez) but also to the best young player, Sebastian Coates (20) and the Fair Play Trophy.

The Copa America is the oldest football competition in the world: the first was played in 1916, in Buenos Aires and was won by Uruguay.

In good Uruguayan multiracial tradition dating back to the first international matches with the sky-blue colours since the early XXth century, the 2011 winning team had several Afro-Uruguayan players, one of them Palito Pereira will be joining striker Luis Suarez in Liverpool. {Ed002's Note - I think "may be joining" is probably more appropriate than "will be joining".}

25 Jul 2011 10:31:59
Hello ed if it is true about bolton going for N gog then we should do a deal N gog plus cash for gary cahill it maybe not good for you and others but I think its an amazing deal {Ed002's Note - Cahill may be a little out of reach but may be an option. I suspect he is looking to end up at a club playing Champions League football.}

25 Jul 2011 08:57:30
hey ed's, love the site
Was wondering who will take the No.17 jersey seeing Maxi is 11 now??
Will it be a signing?? i hope its Mata or Turan. Thanks {Ed002's Note - I have no idea, but the club will not be freeing up shirt numbers for signings.}

25 Jul 2011 08:40:43
hello ed, Is the signing of Villyan Bijev completed. Some says he is immeadiatley loaned to GENK. Whats the truth and How good h is? Any news regarding Bueno?THANKS {Ed002's Note - As far as I know the deal for Bijev is complete - there may be some formalities but consider it complete. Aside from reports suggesting he is a good prospect I have no first hand knowledge of the player. I don't know anything of a loan. There will be nothing on Bueno for a while I suspect.}

25 Jul 2011 07:16:26
Hi ed anything new on pelosi(spelling) the captain of the USA under-17 team UMER(SA) {Ed009's Note - I am afraid there has been nothing since he declared he was close to a move. Perhaps just a delay, perhaps he never was.}

25 Jul 2011 02:35:44
ed, do u think we could get cahill by offering them ngog and some money as bolton are intrested in him {Ed009's Note - I am not entirely sure that a player swap with N'Gog is likely, but I definitely think that we could get Cahill, there is a real chance of the player.}

25 Jul 2011 02:12:14
ed why is every1 sayin we need a striker bcoz suarez will miss a few games and back up for suarez and carroll. did every1 forget we have DIRK KUYT {Ed009's Note - I suppose they did. Besides the likelihood of a young striker such as Bueno or Bijev, I do not think one will be bought.}

25 Jul 2011 01:10:28
American teenager Villyan Bijev has agreed terms this weekend with Premier League giants Liverpool, according to a report from Californian news channel KMPH Fox 26.

The report claimed that Bijev has signed a three-year contract with a two-year option, and his high school coach and former MLS midfielder Chad McCarty confirmed the information to the television station.

The striker will avoid any work permit issues because he holds Bulgarian citizenship through his father, Chris, who was born in Bulgaria and is now a renowned attorey in Northern California specialising in immigration and nationality issues.

The 18-year-old forward has been a prolific scorer with his club, Cal Odyssey, in the Development Academy for the past three seasons. Last year, he notched over 20 goals as his team finished as runners-up in the Under-16 section. This year, he averaged a goal a game and was voted into the national starting XI at the Under-18 level.

A native of Fresno, Bijev played for the USA's Under-18 team in May at the Lisbon International tournament.

The youngster is understood to have impressed the Liverpool coaching staff while on trial at the Anfield club last week, scoring five goals and contributing two assists in two games for the Reds' Under-18 academy team.

Earlier this year, Bijev declined an invitation to join the USFC SuperElite tour, and instead spent time training in Bulgaria before heading to England for the trial with Liverpool.

With his combination of skill and deft touch, Bijev has been tipped for a bright future either as a forward or in central midfield.

He told Goal.com earlier this year that he wants to improve his runs off the ball and strength in possession.

Assuming he can improve those two traits, Bijev will hope to enjoy a more successful career with Liverpool than compatriots Brad Friedel and Zak Whitbread, who both failed to make the grade at Anfield - though Friedel, now at Tottenham via Blackburn Rovers and Aston Villa, went on to enjoy a superb career in the English Premier League.

Eds do the Rodaellaga rumors have legs? He would be a good backup can play wide and up front. {Ed009's Note - I don't know that there are any legs in the rumour I am afraid.}

After cheering on our own Number 7 so help his country win the Copa America, does anyone else think a bid for Diego Forlan would be worth a punt, Atletico will probably accept a reduced fee cause he is well over 30.

But I guess a lot will depend on where Aguero ends up, Forlan and Luis play very well together though. What do the Ed's think? {Ed002's Note - At 30 plus it seems unlikely to me. He would want a starting role.}

25 Jul 2011 00:06:49
hi ed
i heard some journo talking about dalglish waiting until after the copa america had finished to complete the signins of 2 player's the thing is i cant remember what i was watching as it was a couple of weeks ago or that i even dreamt it, can you help me out? or has anyone else heard this? sorry if ive wasted your time with this.
