Neil Jones Liverpool Echo reporter stating that Sigurdsson has agreed to Join Tettenham. The Bild has also confirmed this but breaking news tonight is confirming that Siggy is off to Spurs!!

He actually said he might be, not confirmed but strong sources claiming it to be so. Any news eds?

Cheers
JJ

If true i can't think of any possible reason for this choice apart from financial. If we were in for him and he chose Spurs then they were willing to go higher than us, but i'm sure there are other targets and we have decided the money would be better spent elsewhere, keep the faith lads...

We started by losing players to Chelsea, then along came City to lay claim to our targets, now Spurs, what's the next step down the ladder, losing out to Fulham?

St. John

"No, its ok, don't worry he's still on holiday!" lol

Even next week, when he's stood holding up a Spurs top, they'll be people choosing 'unbelievable' on here and saying he's still on holiday.

Of course, I'm sure Spurs fans will have a gloat if it does happen, but if they sell Modric and Van Der Vaart and replace with Gylfi; as good as he is, haven't they kind of been duped?

I hope its not true (but suspect it is) and if it is, I have an odd feeling Sigurdsson may regret it, especially as they haven't even appointed a manager yet

I wouldn't put 100% confidence into the Echo. While it is a good paper, it has got a number of transfers wrong in the past. Relax people.

Get beatin to the signature of a player who played under our current manager, by a team who has no manager, tells you all you need to know about the current situation at liverpool..shambles..there'll be no major signings arriving, just major departures from now on....small time club

You know all you moaners on here,you should be ashamed of yourselves,decent player ,thats all,if he doesn't want to come we'll get someone else,liverpool are liverpool always will be,i'm 59 years old,supported them all my life,seen players come and go,we'll buy who we buy,and good liverpool supporters,support the team not players,stop moaning,rant over ,gonna read the 1965 topical times footie annual

Bild newspaper reporting sig has signed for spurs.....gutted if true

Good player but forget him now. Lets move on. But hopefully our club will learn the lesson that's been spendthrift and looking for value for your money are not quite the same thing.

I wouldn't say he's good enough to be gutted over but that will make it 4 teams that finished above us who have already strengthened (if true of course). Annoying.

Arsenal - Giroud, Podolski
Chelsea - Hazard, Marin
United - Kagawa, Powell
Totteham - Sigurdsson

Also fairly sure city will spend some money too. I understand that a new manager means new targets and a new direction, but the best signings are done early with good reason.

If the team wasn't good enough last season and the teams above us are improving... it's not good. On the plus side I reckon the squad massively under achieved, so better can be expected (and lucas will be back).

Petr Jiracek would be a good singing if the reports Liverpool are going to put in a 5million bid are true .played great at the euros and i think he would do well in the midfield for Liverpool.is there any interest does any one know?

Would be a good signing in my opinion.. Could be our next Patrik Burger

He was awful in the euros, he couldnt pass it to anyone.

Yeah he did have a great euro he was there work engine and creative spak but first team mabe not i would love him in the team but would be a good sub to help us get strength in depth

No, he would not be a good signing as he is not near lfc standard. He had a good euros compared with most of the czech players, but that doesn't say much. He is fairly quick and tries hard. That's it.

25 Jun 2012 21:41:23
With Scott Sinclair running into the last year of his contract would Swansea want to sell for max profit. Would that allow BR to bid if wanted I know people will have their views on the player but not a bad punt if price is right?.

We can't sign anyone from Swansea for a year.

Would we want him??

slow poke

He's quality no doubt but is he absolute top draw,i would like to see joe allen in lfc's livery..

Sorry for the cut n paste, this is from sportsvibe, but I thought even if its not true, it is still so like Italian teams and their arrogance towards Liverpool.

Italian giants Juventus are rumoured to be eyeing up a move for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, as they look to bring a marquee signing to Turin this summer.

According to talkSPORT, the newly-crowned Serie A champions are hoping to bring in a world-class attacker as they prepare to defend their title next season.

Fiery Uruguyan striker Suarez is thought to be topping a shortlist which includes Arsenal's Robin van Persie and Chelsea misfit Fernando Torres.

However, Juve bosses are unwilling to be bullied into paying over the odds for the player.

Italian publication Tuttosport claim that Juventus are preparing a package of £14.5 million as well as out-of-favour winger Milos Krasic, a player who has been linked with a move to the reds over the past six months.

Any deal is expected to fall onto deaf ears, with Suarez thought to be imperitive to new Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers' plans for the club.

Karl

This is Hilarious

I wish I had a pound for every B#llsh@t press release and comment sprouted during the off season.

..."Juve bosses are unwilling to be bullied into paying over the odds for the player." ...yeah, so clubs are simply going to roll over and submit to any ridiculous offers they make purely because they are Juventus - £14.5 million plus a player that virtually played no part in their season, translated, "we want rid off" ...Talksport? Talkb#ll@cks more like it.

Yeah for 14 million and krasic i would give them Jay spearing

Iv heard a rumour that Lucina Traore has held talks with LFC, not twitter talk or anything amongst those lines, just got a mate with good info (not always reliable).

Thanks

Badger

I'll expect Hightower from Police Academy next then. We've got one big man upfront already. Don't think we need another.

Terrible player ! Awkward, lumbering and shoot on sight ! Poor team player.

You did get it off twitter Badger mate. This Is Anfield have it on their 'twitter feed'. They got it from an article today in a newspaper called the 'National'. It also said the reason we are talking to him is because him and Petrescu have fallen out.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

A poor Adebayor at best !

Didn't he only transfer in like Janurary? Seems unlikely we'd even look at him until next year

He signed for anzhi about 3wks ago
Espur

25 Jun 2012 21:25:54
Liverpool have bid for Lacina Traoré. Rodgers is a big fan and reckons he can get the striker for less than 10M.

Suarez I think is leaving to highest bidder 25-30M.

Crazy. suarez leaving £25/30m ? maybe for 6month loan.

If he goes 50 million at least

Don't know anything about him; Crouch 2.0 or better?
YNWA in AZ

Shelvey will most likely go out on loan to Blackpool

Suarez is not worht 50 mill get real!!11 goals and 3 assists is not wat a 50 mill signing contributes.ppl might say here about torres being worth that much but he had proven for 4 or 5 seasons that he WAS world class.i really believe that if an offer of 30 mill comes in he will be gone

25 Jun 2012 20:36:29
What's the situation with:

1) Dani Pacheco
2) Raheem Sterling
3) Jonjo Shelvey

Regarding their future next year and long term?

LFCBilly

Theres a search function for that information

slow poke

I doubt pacheco has a future due to his buyout loan deal with athletico.
derryred

Pacheco will be leaving the other two are the most promising attackers and will stay for a fair few years yet

Pacheco may return - every player will be assessed. Morgan is the most promising attacker. Shelvy is AM and Sterling is a winger.

1 of me mates come bk from turkey he is liverpool fan an he sat next to some 1 on the plane from the mirror he was speaking to him bout Suarez leaving my mate said he won't be leaving the man from the mirror said he is goin PSG for €30 million an I hope it's all a load of lies there no 1 to replace him

I have heard Suarez is going. It came from a reserve player who I cannot name. He says he wants a move from England before next world cup. So likely be this season.

Well the Mirror is always right and Mirror sports writers always tell people they sit next to the inner secrets of football.

Liverpool wouldn't allow Suarez to leave unless he wanted too and the price is high! Psg are willing to pay more than 30million!

So there was man from the mirror coming back from turkey where there is pretty good chance world war 3 is about to break out instead of going the euros?? Bs

First thing liverpool do now when they conduct a transfer,quietly inform some bloke fron the daily mirror?

The most ridiculous sentence I've read in a long, long time.

Was it the man in the mirror! ;)

Oh yeah,it was the man in the mirror!

EDS, What is the situation with Jan Vertonghen now that Harry Redknapp left Spurs? Is he 100 signing with them? {Ed002's Note - He is pretty close to a deal.}

25 Jun 2012 19:16:49
Eds,
Recently i read rumours of James Rodriguez being considered by Liverpool. He is a wonderful talent and would be great addition to the team.
Does this seem legit or just made up stories?

Chaki {Ed002's Note - I really do not see it as likely to come off although an enquiry may have been made.}

How do you know an official enquiry has been made iis it from liverpool ? {Ed002's Note - Please read the words - "may". There have certainly been enquiries from other clubs.}

I think he will be to expensive and want CL football.
CR

Ed do you know of an enquiry as even though it is a long shot it would show serious ambition. {Ed005's Note - I think ED002 made it clear with his response.}

Ed do you know if there is any way porto could accept a lower fee than the one set in his buy out clause? cheers e JF LFC {Ed002's Note - They might, it would be down to negotiation.}

25 Jun 2012 19:15:59
Ben Smith and Alan Shearer of the BBC reckon Sigurdsson will 100% join Liverpool.
The Gooch

The Gooch LMAO

Fake Shearer Twitter Account.

Zarraz

Gooch ur not from Kerry by any chance?

If SIGURRDSON was signing he'd of signed
by now holiday or no holiday,christ DALGLISH was on holiday in dubai was
offered the liverpool job the next day he was there,there the sort of people and
players you want non of this f....king
the club around till you get a better deal
if he was that interested he would of
signed before his holiday,let's be fare
he's no ZIDANE.............

auntie annie........

25 Jun 2012 18:59:09
hey Edds do you think we could get Sig,Tello and rimerez all in this transfer i would love to see them running our flanks {Ed002's Note - No.}

Why not?!

Why not ask yourself why would we spend all that money for players that all play near enough the same position best we could hope for would be 2 of them i would have sig and ramirez would be well chuffed if we could get 2 from the three

25 Jun 2012 18:23:20
Liverpool and Manchester City have been invited to bid for Bologna midfielder Gaston Ramirez after the Italian side slapped a £16m price-tag on the Uruguay international. eds do if this is true and do we still have an interest in him?

cheers
mellor {Ed002's Note - As I have said previously Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool but I still remain unsure as to how strong the interest is from the club but would not be at all surprised if a push was made to sign him. He was available in January for about 15M euro plus a signing on fee - but Liverpool did not follow up on their initial enquiry. They will not now listen to offers less than 18M euros. However, Ramirez will move in the summer with interest being shown by Napoli, Wolfsburg, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Palermo and Juventus, who have made a firm offer. Unsubstantiated rumours suggest Manchester United, Spurs, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested. Sevilla were interested but I understand that Ramirez has no interest in such a move. Discussions took place between Bologna and Manchester City - adding to discussions that have taken place with Juventus and Napoli.}

It's a no brainer he will sign for City for sure.

He could go to city and sit on there bench or if liverpool did actually put a bid in for him he could play every game along side two of his international team mates, hopefully it would be a no brainer and he would come to us

Champions lge or Europa lge now you decide which is more temping plus a better wage.

25 Jun 2012 17:55:56
According to sky italia Flamini has signed a 1-year extension of his contract with Milan. now they are very unlikely to sign Aquilani. and he will return to Liverpool for Preseason.

Werent they both with Milan last season? They found space for both then.

Drat, that is bad news.
CR

Muntari is injured for 5 months. Traore, Montolivo and Constant have been brought in to replace the outgoing Seedorf, van Bommel and Gattuso, so there is still every chance Aquilani will join them.

Aqua has been named in our pre season squad, not that this means much but BR will definitely want to watch him train?

25 Jun 2012 17:49:28
hi ed's just read mtn football (whoever they are) quoting victor moses saying there a links between him and both us and chelsea and he could leave have you heard anything?

cheers
laylow {Ed002's Note - I explained that there is a difference in valuation - that is where it is.}

He is dreadful,
Andrew

So dreadful chelsea want him lol suree.

Scouse Ben

Ben, just because other teams are in for him doesn't make him a good player. IMHO Moses doesn't have much technical ability and doesn't have a great end product. Appreciate the effort Ed's
Luis Carroll

Cant be that bad if the champions of europe chelsea want him

You see you've just reiterated Ben's point by saying he's a good player because he's linked with Chelsea but hey, we're all entitled to our own opinions.
Luis Carroll

25 Jun 2012 17:41:20
Victor Mosses to MTN football

"I don't know for now [whether I will move], but there's a link for me to Liverpool, Chelsea and some other clubs in England,"

"If the offer is cool, why not ? I will move."

25 Jun 2012 17:25:07
Hi Edds
Do you think we can sign Belhanda?

Looks like he wants to move on. {Ed002's Note - Doubtful although there is confirmed interest in Belhanda from Malaga, Inter, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Arsenal and PSG and there is unconfirmed interest from Roma. The player says he wishes a move to Italy or Germany with Bayern Munich or Dortmund or to play for PSG if Italy Germany is not possible (seems he is not really sure where he wants to move to). A price of 30M euros has been quoted by Montpellier who really do not want to sell.}

25 Jun 2012 16:28:24
Sorry to tell you guys but Gylfi Sigurdsson is going to Tottenham, just met this guy I know that is a very good friend of Sigurdsson and he said he is waiting for a new manager and then he will sign. Will probably be finished at the end of this week. I know many people post here that they are confident something will happen but I am 99% sure that this will happen, I am Icelandic by the way. Just remember the name

Reddie

Be prepared to be shot down in flames Reddie

Mate your not from iceland and your reliable mate didnt tell ya anything cause you havent got any mates you just read that on twitter and believe everything you read so jog on lad, NEILO {Ed002's Note - Actually his IP address places him in Reykjavík and I could even tell you the organisation he works for. It is interesting to see abuse being given to a fellow football supporter who is, like the Eds, just trying to help.}

Remember the name? I remembered it for been full of it last January when you said:

"30 Jan 2012 15:19:27
Tevez loaned to Liverpool FC, announced tomorrow with 200,000£ a week. Remember where you heard it first

Reddie"

I don't see the fuss about sigurdsson - if he's turns his back to BR after what the gaffer has done for him just to plonk for more cash, then he's a right plonker and we don't want him. Singred

Why does it matter the country you come from, should that make it more believable ?

give me one good reason he would chose spurs over liverpool ?

Get real

Why even rise to the bait?
Sig is on holiday. The deal will be completed when he gets back which will be before the deadline set by his current club.
He will sign for us as that is where BR is now working.

At least he has the guts to put a name to it. Thanks Reddie, we'll wait and see.

You are talking rubbish mate.

You don't have a clue.

MJ

I don't think a rumour has ever come true from someone who signs their post "remember this name."

You should be banned WHEN gylfi signs for Liverpool in a week or so you looser!
Some reasonably reliable chaps i follow on twitter reckon sigurdssons agent has been at melwood today, not saying he was but they, unlike some, don't make up bulls**t!

Benzo

"It is interesting to see abuse being given to a fellow football supporter who is, like the Eds, just trying to help."
===============================
Just because the guy is from Iceland does not automatically mean that he has any relevant information on the destination of the player. I'm from Ireland but that doesn't mean that I have the ear of Brendan Rodgers or an inside track on the transfer dealings of Irish players. For all we know Reddie may not know a football from a snowball. {Ed002's Note - The credibility of the information is not the issue. Would you expect to be ridiculed and abused and told that you are not from Ireland for sending in this post? You really don't get it, I know.}

If the player wants to go to Spurs, let him.
LFC need players 100% committed, not just looking for biggest wage packet.
So what if the lad original poster is from Iceland - at least he's posting info.

Reddie I hope your wrong!!But as you say lot of people on twitter and facebook seem to agrre with you and say he had chosen Spuds over us,Cant blame the lad when he is prob been offered the same role as Modric,As i think he will be sold,Dont let the fools bug you with there (You dont know anybody s**t)If he goes to Spurs all the best to him There are plenty more midfielders out there?

For some reason I thought this was a rumour site and people were allowed to post rumours they heard or post about transfer dealings they thought may happen

Give the lad a break not all news is always good news

Leam Red
That Tevez rumour was not that fair fetched as we had made inquiries

At least we noe know that people sant Sigurdsson to the club

Everyone keeps saying Sigurdsson is on holiday, but how do we know that's true? If I'm not mistaken, the reason he hadn't signed the contract with Swansea was because he was going on holiday. That was the middle of May, so he's either having a round the world cruise, or this is just a case of wishful thinking on the part of a number of posters!

I believe you posted that tevez would sign on loan for liverpool back in january and that the sigurdsson deal would be sealed by last saturday? Great reliable sources you have, sure hope u have not used their "knowledge" to put bets on

The lot of you need too wake up,what i love about this site is we all get a say,but it dont mean you can rip the p*** out of the fella,his a red just like you and me,an just saying what he feel's is true,and thats the point of this great site away yes that's why its called RUMOUR'S.no one know's who we will sign,we all have player's that we would love too see play for us,some will come in and some will not. plus 80% of all the rumour's will never come true on this site,but 20% just might thats why we love it. carry on the great work boys walk on.jay essex red for life, forever red till dead.

To me he could be right , because man utd want modric so they will see him as a replacement , i thought he played well last season for swansea and brenden rodgers , so its down to him who he wants to play for , because spurs are in the same boat as us , we are both in europe so does the player want to play for someone he does not know or a manager who he has said he wants to play for ,

Took the words out of my mouth, SingRed mate.

Well said....

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

I would agree with SingRed if its really about the money, but Spurs operate with tight wage structure like ours. I repeat what I posted few weeks ago, we need to be quicker when negotiating and chasing players we want to sign , the reason the likes of United/Arsenal and Chelsea already tied up their prime targets so other clubs can't circle around and hijack their deals ..

Roy

Reddie, I've also heard this. I know someone that's ITK at Tottenham and he's the one that told me. However it is not 100% confirmed and us signing him could still happen.
LeeC

He would choose spuds over liverpool because unfortunately they are the better team at the moment

Unless the news comes from LFC, Macca, The Echo or the Eds then there is usually something incredible in the post. There's no need to shoot down this poster. It is possible that he knows or knows somebody who is familiar with Sig' - just check the population of Iceland. It's a bit different to me saying that I know a person who knows Gerrard just because I live in England - ease up on the fella - there will be a lot of worse posts before September :)

If and I repeat if GS does sign for Spurs what will that say for BR's ability to attract players?

No problem with posting the rumour. My question is did your contact say why Sig chose Spurs? As others have said they have no manager and are only in the Europa like us...

Why are people so eager to get this guy signed.He's an alright player loads of player like him around.He played well for BR at Reading and Swansea.At Hoffenheim and the national team not that special. BR seems to have a fantastic effect on him.If he´s going to Spurs to fill Modric's shoes then he really has his work cut out for him.I don't think he can handle that.I was excited because we come from the same country and he would be the first Icelandic player to play for Liverpool.But I really don't care where he goes anymore, most of the time I have seen him play he's been average.Though I hope he does very well for himself whatever his decision because people say he's good lad.But he's nothing to whip yourself up in a frenzy about.

ChinUp

I gave this news yesterday.

Zarraz

You have to remember this is the same guy who posted a week or so ago that sigurdson would follow rodgers to accrington and that he was having a medical if what he says is true rodgers must be the new manager of spurs as reddie said he would follow rodgers and only rodgers maybe thats who he was having his medical at last week reddie you was right it was spurs lol seriously cant believe i even responded just wanted to remind people of his previous posts

Thanks fine, really.

Jesus the guys allowed give an opinion on things lay off him.
Mike

Spurs may have offered Gylfi more money and promised him a starting spot...and there is also a chance Rodgers has decided to go for someone else...

I am from England and I am NOT in the know,
May I be be insulted now please, cheers lads

Red-pasty

25 Jun 2012 16:06:50
Hi Eds, please tell me we have shown some interest in Adrian Lopez, quality player and do not want to see him go to Arsenal which is being reported.

Thanks {Ed002's Note - Adrian Lopez was of interest to Arsenal but with Podolski and most likely Giroud arriving I would expect that interest to have waned. There has been no interest shown by Liverpool that we are aware of.}

Well we certainly should be looking him and Suarez could be lethal

25 Jun 2012 16:02:42
just wondering if anyone can shed some light on the reason(s) inter would want to get rid of Luc Castaignos if hes so good (not being sarcastic) {Ed002's Note - It is by no means certain that Luc Castaignos will leave Inter but Liverpool interest could be rekindled if he is made available I suspect if he leaves it will be a permanent transfer rather than a loan that Inter will be looking at - although a poor season means it may be difficult to find a club willing to take him on a permanent basis. Feyenoord, Everton, Fulham and West Ham have shown interest.}

25 Jun 2012 15:45:00
R.I.P Miki Roque. Hi eds Wanyama has said he is keen on a move to England. Any lfc interest in him? {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any from Liverpool.}

25 Jun 2012 14:47:28
So what is everyone gonna be saying when siggy signs for liverpool? everyone seem confident that spurs are gonna get him :S

BADGER

Well it's obvious what we'll all be say ain't it!! We should have just listened to BADGER :-)

Ryan

Ryan, you best come on here and say that when it happens, you don't want people to think your a liar, might stop you getting a mortgage

With pleasure mate I hope you are right cos that would mean we're a quality player up!!

I think most people are crying it in trying not to get there hopes up over him.

25 Jun 2012 14:28:15
Hello Eds,
how likely is that Suarez will leave this summer?
thanks {Ed002's Note - Try the search function.}

Suarez isn't leaving, he has 4 years left on his current deal and, he has been in miami chilaxing with Lebron james and watched lebron win the NBA with the miami heat. incase you didnt know lebron james has a stake in liverpool :)

25 Jun 2012 14:18:59
Hi Eds to everyone thinking sig has agreed terms with spurs, He is on holidays. he is not going to spend it on the phone to daniel levy.

So going off your theory he won't have spoken to
Anyone at Liverpool either right! I very much doubt this is the case and believe he will have spoken to Liverpool and tottenham at the very least

Ryan

25 Jun 2012 14:07:54
Hi Ed's, everyone is gone quiet on demba ba's 8m release clause and i think muniain has a 27m release clause

thx {Ed002's Note - I would not read too much in to these release clauses.}

His release clause is only for teams in the CL so you can forget about ba

25 Jun 2012 14:00:25
Hi Ed's,

I read on think it was Daily Mail or something that Chelsea bought Marin for around 7m. Is that right? Seems like a good price for him.

Best
Carl {Ed002's Note - About that, yes.}

A brilliant piece of buisness from their side. Very exciting player. But let's see what BR has up his sleeve.

Sigetty-DK

25 Jun 2012 13:39:44
Just wanna say. If skrtel leaves then yes, we'll be getting a fair chunk for him, but people are assuming that he would be easy to replace. If I may, I've always been under the impression that centre halves always come in pairs, regardless of the club they're at E.G Agger and Skrts, Ferdinand and Vidic, Lawrenson and Hansen, the list goes on... So with people assuming that Skrtel would be easy to replace can I just ask that people think again and Eds, if he does leave, will it Seba or will we look at signing someone based on Agger?

Many Thanks

Tom {Ed002's Note - If Skrtel leaves consideration has to be given to the likes of Coates, Kelly and Wilson, but I suspect another centre back will be sought.}

25 Jun 2012 13:39:43
i have it on good source that Sigurdsson will sign for spurs and Avb also on a 3 year contract my first post wait and see.Personally im gutted about Sigurdsson as we clearly lack creativity in the midfield :(

If you have so much info why don't you sign your posts.
CR

A rumour post not signed instantly becomes uncredible & unbelievable in my opinion. You might as well just written the alphabet mate...

dd

Lack creativity..,
Oh yeah, we didn't create any chances last season..,
PistolPete

Could you please post your name so that we might hang on every pearl of wisdom that trips from your tongue. Who knows, if you're right we may even erect a statue in your honour.

25 Jun 2012 13:27:10
So Sigurdsson's people had meeting with Daniel Levy on Friday, Pretty safe to say he was'nt picking us over Swansea because of Brendan Rodgers, He obviously just wants whats a move to a bigger club. AVB is coming in at Spurs so they look to be the better project for Sigurdsson. Modric will leave but i think Sig will just fill in his place.

Looks like we've missed out on another target.

I thought it was funny when he said Spurs were bigger than Liverpool. GO TO YOUR OWN FORUM, NUB.

RenegadeRed

Just because you post it multiple times in slightly differing language doesn't make it true, clever or worthwhile.

Get a life fool

Bigger club, Spurs? In what way are they bigger? European history? Domestic trophies? Support? Their stadium isn't even as big as ours. The cock on their badge is probably smaller than the liver bird too :)

On the suggestion that he is going to Spurs, AVB says, "There is nothing, it is all lies." Of course, he could be lying. ;)

JB

So avb who near destroyed chelseas season is coming in makes them a better project than r buck who gave sig his big chance twice sig will see you when we go to that crap ground of yours with very little trophys in the trophy room no sorry thats just called a room at white hart pane.

Their bigger than us at present, thats all that matters .sigurdsson 1/2 to join spurs. 6/4 liverpool

Can somebody on here please define "bigger club"? Because as far as I can see the bigger club is the one with more money to spend.If Spurs have offered say £5 million more for Gylfi and offered double the wages we have and he chooses Spurs then fine by me.Should we bankrupt ourselves like Glasgow Rangers to out bid other teams?

I can't decide if you are on the wrong forum or if you are one of the "only happy when being miserable" brigade. Either way, you really should get a life.

If he couldnt do well at chelsea he wont do well at spurs

To people thinking Spurs will get Sigurdsson, Brendan Rodgers is basically the man that has helped him progress through Reading and excel at Swansea and Sig knows that so why would he want to leave to a club with no manager when he can move to a club with probably his favourite manager and a manager who is aware how to utilise him to be his most effective.

25 Jun 2012 12:50:03
What is the situation on Aqualani?
ThankS {Ed002's Note - He will be leaving.}

I hope the new owners dont take as kindly to being shafted as the last ones.

"He will be leaving"!
We heard that last season and we still can't get shut of him! Any bets we just let him go for free and loose the entire transfer fee that person Benitez lashed out for him?

We seem to be saying every season that he is leaving - but we still can't get rid of him.

25 Jun 2012 12:03:00
hi eds do you think we get kalou ?? {Ed002's Note - Not impossible, but not too likely.}

Kalou is sooo overrated, please dont come to lfc

25 Jun 2012 11:54:20
Sigurdsson is not going to Spurs he's coming to Liverpool

Martin

25 Jun 2012 11:42:56
Hi eds, why is everyone thinking that spurs will sign sig, firstly They have no manager, secondly dont they have enough midfielders as it is. I would love to see sig in a liverpool sirt as i think he is the for our midfield and i wouldnt be surprised if he signs for us.

Young Red

Because there are reports that Modric will leave, thats why they are interested, and no prob. if theres no manager, Levy does all the business
Padre

Sigardson will sign but the reason they will go for him because apparently VDV is on his way out

He will sign for Liverpool in the next 7 days.
Red sheep.

25 Jun 2012 11:41:17
Eds how can Spurs hijack the Sigurdsson deal if they don't have a manager? He rejected Swansae because he wanted to play for BR so I doubt he'd move to a managerless team where theres a possibility the manager won't like him {Ed002's Note - The manager situation is not relevant if Spurs wish to buy the players - Van Der Vaart is an example of that. Life goes on whilst the club looks for a new manager.}

You would have to question a player that joined a team without a manager though. I expect him to sign for us, and think he would be a good signing.

Harry was in charge when spurs signed van der vart {Ed002's Note - But he was not involved in the purchase at all.}

I thought he was ed, Thanks for that

gee man {Ed002's Note - It was all handled by Levy.}

{Ed002's Note - It seems that the abuse has returned - so mobile based posts will be being deleted for a while. Sorry, we have no real choice. We have made a serious effort to try and keep things in order but there are certain Liverpool fans who are nothing but foul rubbish and hell-bent on destroying everything that they can.}

I'd say Levy would have asked for his opinion on VDV though Ed? Regardless I still think Sig will join us! {Ed002's Note - Only after he was signed.}

Another example would be Hazard, he agreed to join Chelsea. Di Matteo had not even been giving the job yet and Hazard signed.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

After reading this, i'm confused. One, if not a few of the Eds have been patronising people, with comments along the lines of... why would he move to a manager-less club? Or... what, hes going to spurs even when they havent a manager? Now you're saying the manager situation at spurs isn't influencial at all? I apologise if this is just one Eds opinion and not the opinion of the others, hence the apparent u-turn on this subject.Thanks

Strabs {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what the other Eds think.}

That Levy dude seems to have a lot of power at spurs ed and also a tight fisted git to. I bet it was him who done almost all the wheeling and dealing and theres me blaming harry.

gee man

There is nothing in the rules that says you can't sign players if you don't have a manager.

25 Jun 2012 11:18:47
Well eds

What do u think will happen with joey cole will he be given a chance are be sold
Thanks
Faceman {Ed002's Note - He will be assessed with the other players and no doubt there will be some talks with him. There is interest in him from elsewhere but his wages may be a problem. Liverpool still owe him some of his signing on fee so there may be a way to negotiate a move elsewhere still.}

I don't inderstand that ed002. I can understand it at a club like Portsmouth with their money troubles but not at Liverpool. I know that when we signed him we had a lot of debt but I would have thought we'd have paid hi, by now. Still, crazy wages and I would guess crazy signing on fee.
RealisticRed {Ed002's Note - I am not sure what you don't understand or what Portsmouth have to do with this. Sorry.}

25 Jun 2012 11:06:58
Very disappointed to see people presuming that sigurdsson isn't coming to us. Spurs would like him, doesn't mean he is going to them! And as for people saying things like 'I remember when we used to be a big club' I think you should take a long hard look at yourself because if everyone had that attitude especially at the club, we would go know where.

I wish people would stop complaining about other people complaining. People should take a good hard look at themselves because they're a bit frustrated Liverpool are falling behind other clubs?

I think some of us should realise that rival clubs are strengthening or trying to and that makes some impatient fans anxious that we haven't yet. That is all, fans say things when they're annoyed. Don't take it to heart.

I cant believe all this negativity towards liverpool at the moment. I am sure as is the liverpool way, the new liverpool manager will be supported and we
Just have to wait and see

Of course people are complaining. Bad management and bad staff for several years has made our club fall into mud. The new manager will make us great again, but complaining is ok, because we as loyal fans doesn't deserve bad treatment. And you know that!!

If we don't sign sigurdsson, it is because Liverpool have decided not to. Who knows maybe we have bigger fish to catch?

Red Lee

25 Jun 2012 10:51:47
So sigurdsson has choose spurs really hpoe its not true and will we sign anyone this summer

Do Spurs have a manager?

Glyfi will be a Liverpool player why wud u think he would want to go to spurs when he is nailed on coming to us

Spurs are reportedly in for him but nobody has any concrete info on this. Hopefully LFC are still in the box seat as he looks like the sort of player we need right now

25 Jun 2012 10:34:48
I will quite gutted if the sigurdsson deal falls through hes a unique player. Exceptional long shot and awsome at set pieces. It would be a blow, what you think EDS would you say gylfie would be a priority signing.

Scouse ben {Ed002's Note - He would be a good addition to the squad.}

25 Jun 2012 10:08:40
I see Sigurdsson is going to Spurs. Just shows you how far the mighty have fallen when a player prefers Spurs to Liverpool. I remember when we used to be a big club.

What confirmation has been made. I see none.

Scouse Ben

If you believe rumours so easily why don't you believe the one with much more substance to it, that he is going to Liverpool

Well your obviously not a real fan then he's coming to us no doubt about it

Red man

Who said he's going to spurs? So ur telling us he's going to a club who don't have a manager to replace a player who hasn't even gone yet! If that's his level of intelligence then I think we can safely say he's a player we can do without. We've already got a few players without a brain cell already without adding any more to the squad. I think he will join Liverpool but i won't lose any sleep of he doesn't.

Dude!

Seriously!

Why would Gylfi join a manager-less club ahead of a coach he trusts in Brendan Rodgers.

The man is on his holidays, calm the f*** down!

People like you do my head in, ya just made my morning miserable by pissing me off.

G Red

I suppose you see ghosts as well. You're on a wind up mate...

Bitter Blue ??

I can go to work happy now knowing there is people out there who are crazier than my boss

Your right. liverpool are learning now what its like to be one of the rest. spurs are just doing to us, what we were doing to swansea, its dog eat dog, and as liverpool supporters we'll just have to get used to it until out league position improves

Spurs have nothing to offer him that we cant.

Just stories made up by the London centric West Ham, Spurs and Chavski supporting journalists. Not much going on domestically whilst Euro 2012 is going on.

Wat could spurs offer him liverpool pay better wages are in the europa same as them and he would get more game time with us so dream on spurs without ARRY yous are nothing modric will join madrid and bale will join city and levy will not spend any of that money

What a shame i remember when we used to have good supportive fans not no more it seems

Er excuse me but we are doing nothing to Swansea since Gylfi was only on loan and not a Swansea player.As to spurs doing it to us well if he thinks his career will improve at 'Appey 'Arry's old boys then best of luck to him!However why not just kick back and wait to see what happens.Remember the fever to sign Charlie Adam? God how I wish Old Whisky Breath had hijacked that deal last season!

He would join spurs beacuse they're a better team right now

I remember the days before Alex Ferguson started taking about "big" clubs. Guess what - we're the same club that we were back then, we just seem to have picked up a few carp fans along the way. If Liverpool Football Club is not "big" enough for you, perhaps you should move on.

25 Jun 2012 10:01:15
Hearing people say that the sigurdsson deal is off and then say its back on do u have any info please reply {Ed002's Note - I very much expect that it will be resolved this week.}

It has to be because Hoffenheim set the date June 30th for him to sort it out.

Ed's do you think it will be resolved in favour of Liverpool? {Ed002's Note - Probably.}

Now it's gone from 100% certain that sigurdsson will sign to probably sign, a bit of doubting going on there i think.

25 Jun 2012 09:48:28
According to Tuttosport, Juventus are to make a fresh approach for Liverpool ace Luis Suarez with an offer of around 28 million. and Juventus are prepared to test the resolve of the Merseyside club by offering Milos Krasic, valued at 10 million, as part of the deal.

In that case there is only one answer no & goodbye!!

Really?
If bid around 25m + Milos Krasic i think only then Liverpool will take.

Krasic valued only 6-8M.

Well that depends what WE value Krasic at not Juve. Liverpool aren't going to sell Suarez for 20m and Krasic to Juve if we could get 35m or more from PSG and the like. Juventus are taking the piss - we should tell them 32m and Krasic if he has to go, not a penny less, if you don't like it... go elsewhere.

Andy C £35 million, Suarez ? Alot more than that!

No chance 50 million if they want him because we are not a selling club

The owners will snap up any £30m+ offer for Suarez... he's a liability who generates too much negative publicity. His stupidity almost cost the club a lot of money in sponsorship last season.

So balotelli must generate more -ve publicity. mate we are here to win trophy and become No1 again and not earn sponsorship money. We lost alot more in the process of finding good players aquilani etc. Finding a new suarez can cost more than 200M and years in time. I hope you got it.

Arvin

I was asking myself if BR has the power to decide over sales or is the FSG decide over this....

"A liability that generates too much negative publicity who ALMOST cost the club a lot of money!"

Well thank you Patrice Evra

@ "His stupidity almost cost the club a lot of money in sponsorship last season."

===============================

The first point that you need to eralise is that players win games, not sponsors.Top class players are attracted by playing alongside those of similar quality, not because of sponsors.
Be honest do we really need sponsors who try to dictate footballing policy to the club?
What have they brought to the club that another sponsor couldn't?
How many sponsors have shareholders who question why they are aligning themselves to a club not in their locale?
Do we really need sponsors who celebrate the club's lack of league success because they then have less to pay out?
There are plenty of richer, more influential sponsors out there who will be seeking to invest in LFC when we begin to show real shoots of recovery under BR. Don't be surprised if Coca-Cola are involved at some point in the near future.

25 Jun 2012 08:43:25
Was disappointed that my post the other day doesn't appear on this site..

The Spanish players I told about, my understanding is that we are strongly tracking a CF from there & perhaps a CM. The much talked about Solmon Rondon is interest to us but unlikely he will end up at Liverpool i guess. But i wouldn't be surprised if Brendan put his eyes on Pedro of Barcelona. Talking abt CM's, Borja Valero, Mehmet Topal, Raul Garcia, Gonzalo Castro.

Milos Krasic could be a Liverpool player if it isn't for his wage demands.

Now that Fabio Borini is completely owned by Roma I guess a deal would be very unlikely.

Lets see what Brendan has got in his plans....

Armando

Gonzalo Castro just signed for sociedad recently

Pedro would be a top signing

Why would Pedro leave Barca?

25 Jun 2012 08:29:48
Fabio Borini insists he had no intention of joining Liverpool after signing a permanent deal with Roma. {Ed002's Note - Hardly a shock is it?}

That's not actually what he said - that's just what the headline says. He was quoted as saying he's not thinking about playing anywhere as he's a Roma player for now. That's what any sensible player would say in his position. However, that doesn't prevent Liverpool making a bid for him.

Time will tell, but I think there's more to come on this particular story...

Thank God for that one. What we don't need right now is another italian player from Roma. Remember the last one we had from them and how disastrous that turned out.

25 Jun 2012 07:45:34
Hi eds, do you think huntelaar may still come to Liverpool even if we keep Suarez?
And is there any more news on sigurdsson, all seems to have gone quiet
Cheers {Ed002's Note - Reports of interest in Huntelaar surround teh departure of Suarez. As of last Thursday there had been no contact between the clubs. The Sigurdsson situation will likely be resolved this week.}

Huntellar is an awful player

Siggurddson case...seem like non-stop looping every week~ hope this is final week we need to wait. Cheers

25 Jun 2012 07:42:09
Morning Eds Do u all think that spurs will hijack our bid for siggurddson or a we still in the box seat to get him
{Ed002's Note - Spurs are pushing to buy the kid. It is not a "hijack", just more than one club interested in buying a player.}

25 Jun 2012 03:44:06
Ed's do you know of any Liverpool interest for Benat of Real Betis? He seem's to be a great prospect and now would be the best time to get him? R.I.P Miki Roque YNWA

Levon 69 {Ed002's Note - If Benat moves perhaps Atletico.}

25 Jun 2012 02:51:19
Ed if skrtel were to leave would Raul Albiol be a option? {Ed002's Note - I would doubt it.}

24 Jun 2012 23:37:56
Eds is the sigurdsson deal off or is he stiil believed to be close to joining liverpool please post cause I would like a reply {Ed002's Note - Not off but Spurs are pushing.}

24 Jun 2012 21:56:40
Hi Eds,

I am a die-hard Liverpool fan from India. Have been supporting since 2000-2001 season when I fell in love with Liverpool watching them win the treble!
I am a firm believer that in a 4-2-3-1 formation which is the norm these days, you need to have a good deep lying playmaker. Ever since Alonso left us, we have not found an adequate replacement! Charlie Adam was supposed to be the answer, but he showed us last season that he isn't good enough! If you looked carefully at Brendan Rodgers' Swansea, it was Leon Britton who performed this role. Gylfi Sigurrdson was more of an attacking midfielder. So, I would like to know if we are planning to buy such a kind of player? Or, is it Gerrard who is gonna be playing this role? He has done quite well for England in the Euros, but for me he's still a box-box midfielder and lacks discipline. Jordan Henderson has better discipilne but less talented!
Also I wish we sign at least one among the following players and would appreciate the likelihood of each option.
Obviously, I am not gonna name Modric, Schweinsteiger, Pirlo, Xavi and Alonso for reasons known to all
1. Javi Garcia, the best in terms of potential and age!
2. Leon Britton, maybe nearing 30, but to play that role, you don't need all action midfielders, also Rodgers knows him.
3. Nuri Sahin, may get him on the cheap due to lack of playing time at Real and had injury issues.
4. Steven Defour, we were heavily linked in the past!
5. Momo Sissoko, I started watching him when I came across his name in this site and I am really impressed!
6. Joao Moutinho, after his Euro performance, his price also might have gone up!
7. Lewis Holtby, he played as an attacking mid alongside Schurlle at Mainz. But last season, he played this role at Schalke.
8. Tom Huddlestone, I have seen some shades of playmaking in him while he is injury free.
9. Ever Banega, like Defour, we were rumoured to have followed him closely! Also, doesn't get enough playing time with Mehmet Topal preferred!
10. Yohan Cabaye, still can't figure out how he was snapped up by Newcastle after an impressive season with Lille without the big guns not making a move!
11. Jordy Claisie, don't know much about him, but there should be some serious talent to be dubbed as the new Xavi!
12. Ilkay Gundogan, has replaced Sahin admirably!
13. Mathew Valbuena, this guy deserves a better club!
14. Kesiuke Honda, we should have bought him when we had the chance! Like Holtby, can literally play anywhere even as a striker as he does for Japan!
15. Marco Veratti, dubbed the new Pirlo!

Eds, I know this is a big list, but I would really appreciate your take on my suggested players and tell us if we have a realistic chance of signing them!

Also, forgive my ignorance if I have included players not suited for the regista role. Also, both Eds and my Liverpool friends are welcome to add more players to the aforementioned role.

Thanks in advance!
Love the site, keep up the good work, Eds!

Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown

Walk on walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone

Vinu Varghese {Ed002's Note - Welcome Vinu. Many of the players you propose are not available to Liverpool due to their signing new deals with their clubs, being priced out of the market not being for sale or their being no interest from Liverpool. Most of these have been dealt with and details can be found in the archive - through use of the search function.}

Good post mate

Leon Britton is top class. Shame we can't get him though.

BthekingB

I hope you mean Moussa Sissoko. Otherwise I agree formation wise and that we are really in need another battler in midfield.

Players dubbed 'the new' should be approached with extreme caution! Remember ' Bruno Cheyrou'? He was dubbed 'the new Zidane'!

So you only began supporting after we won some trophies. Well done.

Momo Sissoko is a hard tackling ex Liverpool player, Moussa Sissoko is the guy we should be looking at. Heavily linked with him while Comolli was at the club and touted as a long term replacement for Gerrard.

Love your passion vinu mate.

Sorry, my mistake! I was referring to Moussa Sissoko.

@the friend who labeled me as a gloryhunter, well I was 12 when I started watching football seriously in 2000. My dad was a big fan of Liverpool, so I naturally watched more Liverpool matches and that season we did well. Owen, back then was awesome! But, for the past 12 years, I have never switched allegiance and have been through thick and thin of our club!

24 Jun 2012 23:02:59
Hunterlaar coming to liverpool krasic an sigurdsson this is wot I've been told anyways I'm happy with this

Maybe Krasic & Sigurdsson. But there's no chance of us getting Huntelaar this summer.

SUMON VAI

The sooner people begin to realise that Huntelaar is not good enough and won't perform on the big stage the better. He also took a lot of time before he started producing for Schalke. He is 28,he doesn't have age on his side to start adapting to the english game. He played for Madrid and AC Milan,who was awful... He is just a big player for a smaller club. Not a big club player that explains why he was so poor at AC and Madrid...Klassless Jan Huntelaar

24 Jun 2012 22:58:55
Hanley of Blackburn (6 million) with spearing going in the opposite direction to replace skrtel

24 Jun 2012 19:50:38
eds, any truth to the craig bellamy to cardiff transfer, or are they just old recycled rumours?
YNWA {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware, the reason they have come about is because he is/was in Malaysia for his charity. Cardiff's owners are Malaysian and he did some events with them and for Cardiff while out there. It must be remembered that last summer he had the chance to return to Cardiff, but he refused to take a wage cut to go there, but, when Liverpool came in for him, he not just took a massive pay cut, he also bought out his remaining contract to join us. It seems extremely unlikely.}

Any chance we can get an "agree with ed" button? Just asking. F**king great site.
