Questions for ed01/02.

If I remember right, we paid around 8m for Coates. If we sell him how much of a loss are we expected to take? 4m ish?

Do you have any info regarding Yesil - is he making expected progress? I believe a lot was expected of him.

Just like to say how refreshing it is to be sorting transfers out so quickly, a plan is quite obviously in place. Still think we need a quality CB and CM though.

Well done BR and the team.

Cheers,
Mr T {Ed001's Note - no idea about the money, I don't really see the point in discussing it as there are so many hidden costs involved. Yesil suffered a cruciate ligament injury and so we will have to wait and see how he gets on this season.}

Believable13 Unbelievable7

Im quite keen to see how he progresses too, he has a very good strike rate for Germany youth teams I think and was rated at Leverkusen. Hopefully his injury won't affect him too much

Agree0 Disagree0

Yesil come good.

Seb's deal is buttoned up.

I'll get my coates.

Agree0 Disagree0

He sould be involved in pre-season so hopefully he can step up and be our 4th striker behind Sturridge Aspas Borini. Morgan and Ngoo need to go out on loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

It'd be damaging to his confidence to be behind Borini. Might send him into a deep depression that he could never recover from.

As for the early signings, let's wait and see how these players bed in and what this means for the players already at the club before we start blowing smoke

Mignolet signing has been confirmed by LFC he has penned a long term contract. Excellent signing in my opinion

Believable74 Unbelievable11

Said it weeks ago If we are to sign a replacement it should b mignolet and thankfully I was right. Trouble is I also said sign hangerland!

Ok next predictions please.

we sign a defender next

Fab buy glad he is now a Liverpool player looks to be some really good buys so far young and very good players that will play for the shirt not the money.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully next buys will be a good strong defender and possibly an attacking midfielder. Without a grasp of the finances, hopefully we'll get rid of Suarez. Everyone keeps on saying we'll get 50 million, if we can get 35 I'd take it. Then spend that money on Mkhrtiyan and Papadopoulos with the wages being freed up from sales of Skrtel and Shelvey, then if any moneys left in the kitty (highly unlikely) spend that on Ilori, although I think Kelly and Widsom would be adequate cover for RB and CB between the pair of them

Agree0 Disagree0

Welcome to the Mig! Will be a great buy for us i'm sure.

The A man.

Spurs have made a move for Benteke tonight so I doubt we will go after him now shame really! Also if Reina does go to Barca it will be in a swap deal for Tello! There will be no money involved. BTW Mingolet medical has taken longer as he tore his right knee ligament when he was younger a proper medical was done to ensure it was fully healed and the green light should be given in the morning!

Cheers PDLFC

Believable10 Unbelievable30

Well you look like a fool now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Except it was confirmed this evening so it doesn't really give me much hope for the rest of your post

Agree0 Disagree0

Not being funny but I've just actually looked through some of your previous posts and not of them ever really seem to be true one recently where you said sumo will go on loan as part of the Alberto deal.mdont post things like you have sources when you are clearly lying its just misguidning and pointless

Agree0 Disagree0

Something we lacked last season was a bit of steal. 3 beast's Benteke Wanyama and Papadopoulos would be good additions in our team.

Eds, any reason why Mignolet hasn't been confirmed yet? Maybe because LFC think today's not a good day. That's NOT the case! According to the Hindu calendar, today is a good day! So LFC, don't worry, the Gods are with you on this one today ;) {Ed001's Note - our medicals are exhaustive and take time for the results to be assessed. }

Believable14 Unbelievable5

Seems the Hindu calendar was spot on!

Reina is a certainty 100% to join Barca on a 3yr contract as soon as the confederation cup as finished.

Curled1

Believable41 Unbelievable39

Valdes off to Arsenal or Monaco?

Agree0 Disagree0

Bold statement, what's makes you say that mate?

Agree0 Disagree0

Love for him to stay I don't think we have had 2 great keepers at the club fighting for a place at one time for a long time

Jake90

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope so

he isn't going to get any better
he earns too much
his desire has gone, he returned to preseason overweight last season
he makes an increasing number of mistakes each season
he gives rubbish interviews sympathising with Suarez for wanting to leave

Agree0 Disagree0

He's definitely not. Valdes is staying. Reina is staying 1 more year before moving to Barca next summer providing they haven't moved their interest on to younger keepers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jake, did Clemence and the Grob overlap at all? Also, we could've had a good competition in that position if Kirkland hadn't been injured so much. Still remember Le Boss surprising us all by shelling out almost £10m on Kirkland and the Dude on the same day!

Agree0 Disagree0

Barcelona need a experience keeper as he hardly has to make a save, so good concentration is what they look for and more experience keepers have it.

Edds do u think Brendan could persuade Jose to loan him lakaku or even buy him if poss if Suarez does go think he would fit our profile and also add somin a bit different to sturridge and Aspas and borini. Especially away from home at tough places like stoke. I'm sure 20 mill would be enough to get him if they sold . Can't see him figuring if they get cavani or hulk {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

Believable5 Unbelievable25

Why don't you give aspas a chance bfore asking for some one else ffs

Agree0 Disagree0

Top similar to Carroll and he didn't fit in.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree that Lukaku would be a great addition.

Also to the first reply what's with the sarcastic comment. The guy never said that he would prefer Lukaku over Aspas. Aspas can play anywhere in the attack so there would be roon for both.

To many smart arses on this site!

Red Lee

Agree0 Disagree0

Won't happen. And Aspas don't like him

Agree0 Disagree0

Does anyone know how much Lakaku would even cost. Aside from Liverpool interest, wondering how he stacks up against Benteke in terms of cost.

Pablosoccer31

Agree0 Disagree0

I seen this a few hour's ago and thought nothing of it, but upon one of my many re-visit's a day, I know it's not going to happen but I can definetly see where your coming from, Lukaku is going to be a awesome player one day, he's got the pace, the power the right attitude from what i've seen and he want's to play and prove himself, but personally, I believe Lukaku is very, very similar to Sturridge, his loan spell at West Brom jus reminds me of Sturridge spell at Bolton, both lead the line, banged some fair amount of goals in and improved greatly. So I believe there is no need for Lukaku when we have Sturridge who has also improved immensly since joinin us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ya I agree with Red Lee and to the other no name poster the only thing Carroll and Lukaku have in common is that they're big, they're styles are very different

Agree0 Disagree0

At the risk of side tracking the thread (99and this is not just wild dreaming) I don't think Suarez is leaving.

No offers yet, and not wanting to pay more than £25-30m shows they're not that keen if the want to break the bank to get Bale.

Just sayin.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sturridge is a better player than Lukaku who is ungainly and could turn out to be a one season wonder.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks lads good debate see no reason for some persons on here twisting my words what Aspas has to do with what I said I don't no but hey ho. I actually think he will be better than Benteke and prob cheaper with regular games he will be a beast he destroyed us in 20minute cameo at anfield after we batterd em for 80 minutes they bring him on and we lose two nil in one of the most one sided games all season.comparin him to carrol is like comparing ibrahimovic to grant holt

Its been reported that luis has agreed personal terms with real is this true newsnow reporting it or is it crap if true just gutted I think we as a club shuld say to him honour your contract we gave you which u should be happy to because we still are a massive club always JON96 {Ed002's Note - This will be no more than a rehash of a story about the discussions his representatives had with Real Madrid. RM were expected to put an offer to the club last week but I understand that they have yet to do so. At the moment, you should perhaps start worrying about some of the other interest if you want Suarez to stay at Liverpool. But his time has come and you need to move on.}

Believable26 Unbelievable10

How much are Liverpool asking for Ed? Or do they still want to keep him? {Ed002's Note - I don't want to get in to the money.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Suarez gave us some great memories but he also gave us some incredibly embarrassing ones too. His biting of Ivanovic was the work of a savage and was indefensible. In my eyes, he needed to leave our proud club after that biting incident so let's get what we can.

Besides, we have a new Luis (Alberto) now and one who wants to be with us so goodbye Suarez.

Agree0 Disagree0

Time to let the cannibal move on, its twice he's bitten someone now, we should cash in now before he's banned for a longer period when he does something stupid again. the guys a loose cannon GET RID ASAP

Agree0 Disagree0

Its been a rollercoaster ride with Suarez. But we need the team to concentrate on the job in hand (Top 4 finish) and not to be what in actual fact has turned out to be a sideshow of distraction.
Killingholme_Clay

Agree0 Disagree0

We will be much better without him. 40 mil for him, we can buy Mh, Wanyama and ilori.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes let's get rid and while were at it let's stop this top 4 nonsense.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he's going then see you later. Be sad to see him go
as he's one hell of a player but lfc have always found good strikers Muriel or benteke would be good or both to be greedy

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jun 2013 16:57:44
his last act on the pitch was to score a goal for us nothing wrong with his ability but if a player dosent want to be with us anymore then so be it. just like when k keagan wanted to go and was replaced so will suarez eventually.i was thinking maybe brendan is doing a dalglish and replacing suarez with a few players like he did with rush.Tommy Irish Red

Agree0 Disagree0

It is no surprise to me when I hear of people going out of their way to be nasty with Ed002 given the attitude he/she takes on these pages with most posters.

There is never a shred of common decency or rapport building offered in 90% of his/her replies, and while this is not an attempt to justify any person being a right horrible barsteward, I am not in the least bit surprised as Ed002 brings it on him/herself with the stock line of caustic responses meted out. {Ed002's Note - So my "caustic" reply to this post has upset you? What would you have expected?

"This will be no more than a rehash of a story about the discussions his representatives had with Real Madrid HONEY. RM were expected to put an offer to the club last week but I understand that they have yet to do so MY DARLING. BUT PRECIOUS, at the moment, you should perhaps start worrying about some of the other interest if you want Suarez to stay at Liverpool. But his time has come and you need to move on AND STOP WORRYING YOUR LITTLE HEAD. I AM HAVING EVERYONE AROUND FOR HIGH TEA AND TEDDY BEAR SHAPED MUFFINS TOMORROW - PLEASE PROMISE YOU WILL COME."

Or are you just some trolling retromingent jerk embarrassing the Liverpool fans with your nonsense? Did the club advertise for cretins like you as fans or did you naturally fall in to it? I guess you just want to see the abuse start up again? There seems to be no end to the rubbish like.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002 who is the most likely club Suarez will go to now? {Ed002's Note - I can tell you where there is interest but I cannot sensibly anser "most likely" questions.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets be honest here, the only person capable of replacing Suarez is El Sharaawy

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002 who are the clubs interested in Suarez? {Ed002's Note - Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester City. A well-positioned French-based scout for another EPL side thinks that PSG will become interested and that Monaco and Napoli may also become interested. PSG have a more pressing issue that needs to be addressed first - so we will have to see. I am not convinced about either of the others at this time - although that might change. Juventus look to have addressed their need so I doubt they will be looking at Suarez much longer.}

Agree0 Disagree0

When you think of canyons and how he inspired United maybe Suarez could have been the catalyst to mentor this young Liverpool side but everybody has their price.

Agree0 Disagree0

Atletico Madrid couldn't afford Suarez so that leaves Real, Bayern and City. Unless the French clubs come in for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Man City is a no go because he hates everyone and everyone hates him in the uk excluding Liverpool FC fans. No offence but Athletico is a step down from Liverpool even though they have champions league place they are forver in Real and Barca's shadows. That Leaves Real and Byern with outside chance from PSG!

Agree0 Disagree0

Haven't atletico just sold falcao for £50 million? I'm sure they could afford Suarez.

A.C.

Agree0 Disagree0

Atletico Madrid just sold Radamel Falcao for £50 million, they can use that money to get his direct replacement in Luis Suarez.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jun 2013 20:07:22
absolutely brilliant shout by Ed002

Agree0 Disagree0

Real Madrid have Gonzalo Higuain and Karim Benzema. They are looking to sell Gonzalo Higuain.
Bayern Munich have Mario Gomez and Mario Mandzukic. They are looking to sell Mario Gomez.
Manchester City have Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero. They are looking to sell Carlos Tevez.
Paris Saint Germain have Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ezequiel Lavezzi. They are not looking to sell either player.
Atletico Madrid had Radamel Falcao. They have sold Radamel Falcao for £50 million.

That's what we're looking at, if these clubs sell their players then they will be coming after Luis Suarez.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed do you think there will be a bidding war for Suarez? With all those teams interested surely Madrid aren't the only ones likely to make an offer. So do you think there will be a bidding war? Cheers. (great reply to that person btw!)
ROI. {Ed002's Note - I suspect not.}

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jun 2013 19:30:12
Ed002 Man City must be out of the question.
Why would Liverpool sell a player to strengthen another team in their league when they're getting offers abroad?
Also Luis Suarez is leaving Liverpool because he wants to get away from the British media, or was he lying about that? {Ed002's Note - I cannot sensibly answer this.}

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jun 2013 20:08:54
Ed002 Suarez is obviously going to these clubs to replace the strikers leaving.

Real Madrid - Gonzalo Higuain.
Atletico Madrid - Radamel Falcao.
Bayern Munich - Mario Gomez.
Manchester City - Carlos Tevez.

Is Luis Suarez the first choice target for these clubs or are there other targets these clubs want first. {Ed002's Note - Please read the posts.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed may be able to enlighten us all, but I think Falcao was part/not fully owned by Athletico? Whilst they have some money, I don't see them as a viable option. It's between Real and Bayern for me, but perhaps a wealthy French side will offer an insane amount of money and turn his head.

Papa G {Ed002's Note - Atletico has already agreed a funding package including other partners.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Some of you make me laugh, you talk of being a proud club but turn against Luis when he wants to go, if he hadnt said he wanted to leave 99% of you hypocrites would still be defending him. To the poster who says we always replace look at Keegan etc, got news for you, we were a top club who could afford players then and they wanted to play for our great club. When I see people saying we could replace him with Benteke I just have to question your stupidity. Luis is a rare gamewinner. Lfc fans today are a bigger disgrace when persons burn the Lpool shirt because a player is leaving. Hypocrites the lot of you, top 4 your having a laugh some of you. And finally we have a poster saying we have the new Luis in Alberto despite never seeing him play for our club, what a stupid comment to make.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the person above, we were in this exact same position when we signed Suarez, so your theory that we're not in a position to sign top players is kind of contradiction. He hasn't taken us up the table.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we manage to keep Suarez and add either Mkhitaryan or Eriksen plus a top defender like Papadopoulos we will challenge for the league title. If we lose him it will be a fight for 4th place.

Agree0 Disagree0

Suarez has been gone in my mind since his mouth opened and clamped down on Ivanovic. He cannot complain about the press any more than any of us. He constantly allows his past to be an excuse for his short comings. The Evra thing was understandably tough but he came through it and improved as a player. Now he has repeated a stupid reckless error and when people repeat their mistakes there is no one to blame.

I enjoyed watching him as a Liverpool player but he's already gone in my head and for better or for worse we will have to go on.

Agree0 Disagree0

He will end up at monaco for about 35mil, never getting over 40 when he's forcing a move

Agree0 Disagree0

IF he has agreed personal terms, then surely it constitutes 'tapping up' as he is under contract with Liverpool and has not been granted permission to speak to Real or any other club. {Ed002's Note - He has not spoken with Madrid.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Isn't everyone a bit bored with this subject let?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jun 2013 11:25:07
Ed002, your replies are bordering on the stand up scene, love it
SyeJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets all just get over Suarez he does not have enough respect, and after the bite I just thought to myself quietly its time to go, Brendan is trying to push on now and quite frankly he is buying more and more goal scoring attacking midfielders with the idea we really need a 20 goal a season man, a nutmeg dribbling liability king is not needed, a striker who gets angry every time he does not get the ball is not needed, Sheeesh i'd take 35mill just to speed it up. I mean how much is his ban costing us in wages, 6 games into the new season will cost at least a million est 120k a week. He is great but we are no Monaco or PSG. Hoping he hands in a transfer request, no golden handshake BS.

Napoli have signed martens on five year deal.

Believable30 Unbelievable5

This happened two weeks ago

Agree0 Disagree0

In what way is this Liverpool related?

Richards {Ed002's Note - It is obviously another player the club missed out on.}

Agree0 Disagree0

We missed him!

Agree0 Disagree0

Obafemi?

Agree0 Disagree0

Funny how napoli got him for 9.5m euro when Liverpool would have had to pay 12m euro

9.5 or 12m is a bargain for Mertens. we missed out there

Hey Eds, now that Ancelloti is at Madrid do you think they'll retain an interest in Suarez? Was he interested at PSG? Thanks. {Ed002's Note - It makes no difference and there is plenty of interest in him from elsewhere.}

Believable3 Unbelievable6

Could PSG become interested Ed? I suppose he will be a lot cheaper then Cavani so any coub interested in both players would likely move for Suarez first

Red87 {Ed052's Note - I don't believe so, although it isn't impossible. Right now they have other targets}

Agree0 Disagree0

Marca reported that Suarez has offers from numerous other clubs, do you believe this to be the case? {Ed052's Note - He will no doubt get offers from multiple clubs and his agent speak to lots of clubs, yes}

Agree0 Disagree0

Why is just because reals mouthpiece / propaganda machine marca paper say suarez is going to mardrid people take it for gospel, I suppose if your hear something enough times you begin to accepted as fact , however in this case the actual fact is he could just as easily go anywhere else, as there are plenty of teams willing to pay the money as opposed to madrid who will use all the politics in the world to negotiate a cheaper price!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed0002 it does make a difference cause didn't he say he would like to play for real?

Or are you saying he just wants out no matter where he goes? {Ed002's Note - It doesn't make a difference with Carlo Ancelotti becoming manager.}

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jun 2013 08:50:41
in this mornings paper talk its claimed hm has denied any talk about coming to lfc, eds this is getting more complicated by the day, I thought it was just the ownership problem to sort out? {Ed002's Note - The situation remains as explained. At this time he remains contracted to another club. If Liverpool decide to follow up on their interest then they know what the financial expectations are. I suspect he is sick of people asking the same question over and over again.}

Believable10 Unbelievable10

A bit of sympathy with him then ED002?

25 Jun 2013 09:39:14
Ahaha so you understand his frustration then Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

His page reads to me more like a no comment rather than distancing himself. the un truths he talks of refer to the fact he was at vienna airport and they suggested he was en route to Anfield for a medical which wasnt true. until his club accept a bid and its confirmed he won't say anything else. Actually a good quality and something some other nameless south american players could learn from

Agree0 Disagree0

He's armenian not south american :P

Agree0 Disagree0

He respects his club. whether a deal will happen or not, i'm not sure. but I do believe he respects his club, and his contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd imagine you empathise with that feeling Ed haha!

RobInRed

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002, in your opinion, why did he not turn up for training? To stop me putting two and two together, would you hazard a guess to suggest his no show at training is something to do with the transfer speculation with Liverpool or a another club? {Ed002's Note - He was given a few days off after being in Austria. He should by now have returned to training with the club, but hasn't. It happens - and it is no big deal.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi ed, thanks for clarifying, as I can imagine people will put two and two together.

Doing to some research however, the guy has a great disciplinary record and it is out of character for him to do this?

But, like you say it might just be a case of him being late and nothing else

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe trying to force through a deal with us?

Ed002 understands because instead of reading it on here, they ask ed what is going on. Why ask a question when you can just read it on here. People do baffle me at times.
