Hi Ed's,

Has Liverpool shown any interest in Leroy sane either recently or in the past? How do you rate him as a player?

Hope everyone on here is keeping safe!

{Ed002's Note - Not since Rogers left.}

Leroy Sane would be an immense signing but I do not believe we will look to sign him as I think he wants to go to Munich.

Hi eds and all, is there a plan/ idea for Liverpool to actually make an approach to sign werner? Understand that we have supposedly acted inappropriately again but is there a plan from the club to make an effort to sign him?

Also I hear Karius is linked to a move to Wolves to replace the outgoing Ruddy is there anything in that rumor?

Stay safe and well all.

Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - The club would need to approach RBL in order to buy the player - obviously there is interest. There is also interest from elsewhere of course.

Loris Karius (G) Liverpool find him back on the doorstep and will need to find a solution - perhaps a reduced price and an early exit - CSKA and Hertha Berlin offer opportunities - does not wish to return to Turkey although there is interest from there. With Boeckx getting toward the end of his career and Roef's departure this summer already agreed Anderlecht would like him to challenge first choice Van Crombrugge. Wolves need cover, but Karius would not be first choice there - and regular playing time is what he will be after.}

appreciate your time bud stay safe wherever you are!

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

ed do you know what kind a clause werner has in his contract keep seeing we would have to pay £55m for him to be released does that mean he has a termination clause then. Or is it just one that has nothing to do with us.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I don’t and you are absolutely right it would need to be a termination clause. The clause exists because of Bayern Munich, so might be indicative of what they would accept from elsewhere.}

We have unsettled the lad and now we need to make the offer and purchase him, simple.

Any updates at all on when or how the premier league will be starting again? And if I may, any updates on transfers, Werner is being excessively mentioned?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - (a) No, there are placeholders for dates but there is no decision over venues yet, issues over a response to the 100 point letter over medical concerns, meetings to be held with three cities whose mayors are against the return and other odds and ends. (b) The Werner situation remains unchanged - Liverpool have not approached his club and as far as I know have continued to tap him up illegally. Another side has held some further talks with RBL but they are not confident anything can be done. As far as other players who have ben looked at; Victor Osimhen can be struck off the list; Leicester have now made an approach to Wigan for Joe Gelhardt who Liverpool and Everton are keen on; Piotr Zielinski can be scratched.}

25 May 2020 12:07:34
Interesting to see we were still interested in Zielinski after so long. Delighted we ended up with Gini though, and hope he signs a new contract soon.

{Ed002's Note - No more than a wildcard but the closest match to Adam Lallana and Napoli have been in some turmoil but they are now settling. And of course a Klopp favourite, and a very good player.}

25 May 2020 13:23:09
Ed, you keep mentioning Liverpool have 'tapped' up Werner illegally. How have they done this. I only ask because I watched the Alan Shearer interview recently when he stated that Sir Alex Ferguson and Kevin Keegan both phoned him about moving even though he was under contract at Blackburn with no desire to move. Also, didn't Cristiano Ronaldo have a word in De Ligt's ear during a game convincing him to join Juve. How is this different.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Putting aside Ronaldo which is of no relevance, Ferguson made an illegal approach to Shearer. This does not make it right for Klopp to constantly cheat. It is against the rules and totally unacceptable. Liverpool still need to sort their act out or at some point they will get another ban.}

25 May 2020 13:38:00
Think that would be a good for Gelhardt.

Ed why haven’t they approached RB over Werner like I just don’t get that like tap the lad up then say ah leave it there!

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Obviously, and not for the first time, Liverpool are disrupting a player of another side. Perhaps Liverpool will do the honest thing and approach RBL with a very good offer to tempt them to sell?}

25 May 2020 14:32:37
Why haven’t they approached RB if they want him like what gain is there going to the player 1st (obviously it turns his head ) but what else and who’s the gob person doing the tapping up, klopp?

How do a club like red bull grant permission to speak for a player

Is it only after a offer is accepted.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The same way as any other club do. The process should be along the lines of: Clubs will typically informally ask an agent (a) if the player is going to be available, and (b) would the player consider a move to the club. There may be some broad discussion on the sort of deal that would be offered but no more than that. If the answer is yes, it is then necessary for the club to approach the player's club to ask if they would be willing to sell and if they would grant permission to speak to a player's agent formally to negotiate about a transfer and even to the player about actually making a move. This will typically involve the showing of serious interest (perhaps through an offer) or actually agreeing a fee and responsibility for any significant costs (agents fees etc.). Once this has happened the club will be able to speak formally to the player's agent and perhaps the player himself to look at the package that will be involved. Many players are looked at and discussed at a high-level with agents and clubs; a subset of those have an offer placed; a subset of those involve discussions with the player's club; a subset of those involve discussions over terms, and; a subset of those go ahead.}

Klopp is an angel compared to Ferguson

Not only was he continually tapping up players but storming into the officials office after a game, berating decisions they didn’t go his way, asking for officials not to referee matches that he didn’t see fit. The list goes on.
