As far as I am aware Dalglish has NOT been asked to step down or move upstairs. Henry very enamoured by the unique link he has to the city + people.

I know you guys are hearing he will step down during the close season. No idea about that but can confirm that if it does happen it will be his own personal decision.

Sorry for the mystery guys. Not looking for fame or adulation just repeating what I know

In other words, he thought Woy was a Muppet and he tried to replace him with another Muppet. But this Muppet didn't like having a hand shoved up its ass. Now Henry has been left in an impossible situation. ha' ha'

Boo,hiss,we the baying mob don't want to hear your common sense.

Who are you calling muppet,biff.

Theres no point in even any rumours until our dof is appointed, they may well want their own man, or may not

As far as i can remember when kk was appointed the owners never actually wanted him in but bowed to fan pressure when woy was doing so badly.
so to say that henry practically loves him doesn't quite ring true

I also seem to recall that fan pressure played a big part in Kenny getting the job.

How do yous know fan pressure played a big part in getting him the job? Spoken to Henry or Werner have yous? For all we know Dalglish was their first choice.

Kieran. {Ed002's Note - The owners have made it clear that they appointed Dalglish to appease the fans and he was not their choice.}

Who was then {Ed002's Note - Didier Deschamps was approached twice - once by Dalglish on behalf of H&G and once on behalf of the new owners.}

26 Apr 2012 22:22:35
I think everyone on here, including the Ed's are in agreement that Dalglish will not be our manager next season. Just wondering if we appointed Txiki Begiristain as the new DoF, do you think that may strengthen our chances of potentially approaching Guardiola in the summer? I know he says he wants a break from football but stranger things have happened. Would Guardiola even be considered even?

It is very likely that Guardiola will announce his intentions to step down tomorrow and also very likely that he will take a year long break.

IF (big if) Dalglish stays as manager for another season, then it will be a massive hint that Mr Henry will at least have a go at persuading him to join Liverpool.

Nothing confirmed until the season ends and until new director of football is appointed. If the new director of football has no intentions to work with Guardiola then Dalglish will step down come summer and a new long term manager will take the role.

STB {Ed005's Note - If Dalglish stays on it has nothing to do with Pep Guardiola. Absolutly nothing. Pep wants to take time out of football, that could be one year, two years, three years, four years how do we know?}

Why do you have to bring the Ed's into this.

Sorry to piss on your parade but we most definitely don't agree about K Dalglish.

I believe Pep Guardiola is very likely to replace Man City's manager Roberto Mancini before next season starts.

Ollieston

Kenny needs to be manager. Our focus was the cups, as was ferguson in the early years of his( took him seven years to win anything). He won us 1(maybe 2) cups in his first year, he's the last manager of Liverpool to deliver a league title. He has got us playing some amazing football. Really good. Sold some deadwood. Bought some stars and bought of bad ones and ones for the furture. He has brought stability to the club. All we need is a few signings here and there and we got ourselves a title contending squad and a manager who will not leave us no matter how much money he is offered.
AnfieldUSA

Christ almighty, are you deluded lad, brought stability? we'll be lucky to finish top half of the league! Our focus was never the cups in fact if you check kd and jwh quotes it was top 4 min, we're closer to relegation then that. DC got rid of the dead wood and the 2 biggest pieces of that appear to be coming back. We are so far from a a title contending squad its unreal.

Dodge

I have to agree with dodge,you are 37 points adrift of top spot ,everton have spent next to nothing on players over the last couple of seasons and are 2 points above u
your next 4 games are against teams that are just below u except chelsea if you lose or draw 2 many of these games dont be surprised to find yourself in the bottom half of the epl

Well said Dodge. It makes me laugh people thinking that the cups were are No1 priority. I would happily give up the cups for a decent challenge on the league. Dont get me wrong its been great getting to Wembley twice and ive had a great time (excluding the traveling to the Everton match) but to be involved in the title up to the last weeks would be much more exciting. Normally I would say next year will be our season but I cant see it happening at this moment.

WB

The word on the streets of Liverpool is definitely pro kenny and not as your saying or wishing it to be.

hei eds, great site, i have no rumour, just wondering if its any truth in this zagreb thing, and do you think we have chance on any of the 3 mentioned? ( badelj, vrsaljko and kovacic) i think all 3 shows huge talent and would be great additions to the squad, spesially vrsaljko if glen is to go... Have a great night.
NorwegianRed {Ed001's Note - well we would have a chance, just depends on who else is in for them and what they get offered. Impossible to say yet where they will go.}

My guess is LFC wont even try getting any of them... Cause they stupid, all 3 will be world class players

Have we even showed interrest besides scouting badelj
couple times?

NO! Plz no more mediocre players from bad leagues... We need top players too be a top team... YNWA

Haha, mediocre players? badelj is better than any of our cm, and kovacic is one of best talents in europe... U clearly dont have a clue, or u just a big fat troll...

LFC reps have spoken with Bilboa over a potential pre-contract agreement to purchase Muinian for €28m + Suso on loan. A gentlemens agreement is already in place with FC Twente regarding the transfer of Luuk De Jong and Dirk Kuyt has agreed to leave the club by mutual consent. All other transfer activity is on hold until the signing of the new Director of Football, which I am told is imminent.

Red Dragon

Suso's from Cadiz, not the Basque country so Bilbao couldn't sign him. This makes anything else you have to say lack credibility.

Aside from the fact that Suso does not qualify to play for Bilbao, due to the fact he has not been brought up in the Basque region, I'd say this is spot on!

A gentlemans agreement isnt worth the paper it is written on!!

To many variables, sounds like BS to me....

Do Suso have a basque origin?
Because Bilbao only sign players with basque origin or players who are in any way related to the basque region.

Everything you said is just BS.

28 million for Iker Munian.. Not likely. Credibility of this piece does decrease due to the bs about Suso. Nice try though.

BLANCO7

I have read this through a couple of times and cannot find a grain of plausability in any of it. Absolute and utter bull !
ANFIELDPETE

I do not understand this Suso not from Basque issue. Anyone care to briefly explain..? Thanks {Ed001's Note - Bilbao only play Basque players and selected foreign ones, not Spanish ones that are from outside the Basque regions.}

Suso's from Cadiz, not the Basque country so Bilbao couldn't sign him??,why exactly??

Hilarious! suso wouldn't even be eligible to play for Bilbao. And hasn't Muniain repeatedly stated that he wants to stay with the club?

Thats all the money gone on 1 player time to look at some good bargains in the french league like newcastle and arsenal r doing get them before they hit the silly money stage

Utter tosh! singred

Am i only one who dont want brats in our club?

Dirk? Gone by mutual consent? Id love to have seen that meeting. 'we dont want you' 'well i dont want to play for you anymore'

Ed001 as I understand it the Athletic policy does not differentiate between foreign and Spanish. They only sign players born or raised in the Basque country, or who's parents are from the Basque country. What non-Spaniard has ever played for them?

Kieran.

Why spend millions on Muniain when he would only block Sterlings path who probably be a better player than Muniain.
You havn't read the script! Borello's youngsters are going to save the club millions. We will only spend 20 Million plus on a goalscorer.

Athletic Bilbao are seamless moving forwards, smart move playing Martinez as centre half. I know Macca has said Soldado and Muniain are main targets, and both would improve us but Llorente is simply sensational. I have hear our name mentioned in the same sentence as his previously but would i be right in saying he will.probably head elsewhere?
Do you know where any of the other attacking quartet will be heading from Bilbao eds?

Cheers
Anfield Andy {Ed001's Note - we tried to buy him, they refused to even consider the 35m we ended up paying for Carroll. We even asked them to name their price and were told he is not for sale at any price. They are looking to sell other players to allow them to build around Martinez and Llorente. I haven't heard where any of their players are off to, but Madrid and Barca are always waiting in the wings to bid.}

Some of these Bilbao were pretty odinary until Bielsa arrived with his very interesting 3-3-1-3 formation. Do a search and read about it - fascinating and it doesn't depend on the same 11 playing in the same positions each week. Some players are used in 4/5 positions right and left. The most important man at Bilbao is the coach who is most likely to replace Pep at Barca now.

Ed do you think we would pay the 30 million euros bibao want for munian and do you know if we have any chance of getting herrera or susaeta cheers ed! {Ed005's Note - If we really want him and the finances are available why not? We paid more for Carroll.}

Well if Torres is worth £50m then i dont blame them for knocking back £35m... i can only see Llorente moving to Barca!

26 Apr 2012 19:30:38
eds, is there any truth in the Carroll loan situation, i hope so as we need to bring in talent and we cant wait on him to rediscover his form. Is there any chance on a return for both rafa benitez and fernando torres. I can see us attracting solid good players with benitez back in the hot seat cheers,
jav
{Ed005's Note - Very little to no chance of Benitez returning and no chance of Torres.}

Rediscover? Carroll has been in form since January.

Why didn't they get Drogba in the first place.

For God's sake! Maybe Rafa could welcome back his last great signing - Aquilani. So far we've spent approaching £30 million on him. He's played a handful of games for us and is now apparently not even worth £6m. Great! Yes mate, let's have some more of that petulant child!

26 Apr 2012 19:28:11
Rumours that say Bologna has recieved an offer of 20 million euros for Ramirez from an "important" English Premier League club, is it from us ed/Macca? what's your thought on the rumour?

Daniel91

Liverpool aren't an important club.......

26 Apr 2012 18:49:02
ed gaston ramirez agent is again reporting that an english club has made a bid for ramirez of close to 20million euros, any idea if its true or if it was indeed us? cheers ed JF LFC {Ed005's Note - No idea, my opinion is that his agent is trying to drum up interest.}

26 Apr 2012 18:48:51
Hi eds

Do you know who the agent of Gaston Ramirez is referring to as the "big premier league club" who have offered 20m?

Thanks

Mac {Ed005's Note - Not sure mate. I would be surprised if anyone was doing business now. Perhaps just his agent trying to drum up interest.}

26 Apr 2012 18:44:59
Eds, has there ever been any interest from Liverpool in signing Jelle Vossen of Genk?
ocuinn {Ed001's Note - none that I know of.}

26 Apr 2012 18:40:47
Ed, Guardiola leaving Barca?

You know what i'm thinking, is it possible for him to come to us? {Ed001's Note - who knows, he has had no approach from us as of yet, so no idea.}

No chance of it happening this summer. I thought he was taking a year out.

26 Apr 2012 18:22:17
Liverpool may have moved a step closer to signing Uruguayan star Gaston Ramirez after his agent revealed they have received a bid from an un-named Premier League team for the Bologna midfielder.

Bentancur said: "Bologna have received an offer near to 20 million Euros from an important club in the Premier League.
"Bologna will decide at the end of the season what they are going to do."

Eds, his agent talking up another deal, so other clubs start bidding up?

26 Apr 2012 18:16:41
Hi eds, any news about inerest in Marko Marin? {Ed001's Note - nope.}

26 Apr 2012 17:00:58
Ed's, do you know if any teams are looking at derk boerrigter (Ajax) and what do you think of him if you've seen him play.

Cheers {Ed001's Note - no idea, never seen him play sorry.}

26 Apr 2012 17:28:08
Do you see sterling being sold and what is going on with his situation :)?

Does he want to leave ?

Thanks DMW

26 Apr 2012 16:52:58
ED's and Reds
I'm still concerned that no one at LFC can spot a world class player or prospect when they see one. We could write a book on players we could have had but lost out on cos we were too slow to act or we waited until the price went through the roof like last season. FSG need to find an experienced DOF and a manager who gets the most out his players and plays good football. For me this would be Txiki Bergiristain who oversaw the transformation of barcelona and Roberto Martinez who gets average players to play great football, and believe in themselves. Our academy still have not produced quality since the gerrard and fowler days and if you see flanno, spearing, etc as the answer you dont get it....We have sterling who for me could go all the way having his opportunitys limited by players playing badly week in week out.Kuyt hendo, We need a long term vision and a business plan which would include a new stadium and possibly sale of naming writes..we could sell 70,000 out every week..surley we are loosing ground fast on our rivals...
Eds and reds who would you like to see come in..Dave
P.S Javi Martinez is the leader we want to replace stevie g...

Errr, i can't say i'm watching the same game as you. We play some pretty good football at times, but just can't finish the move off. That's down to the players, you can have all the managers you want, but if you can't finish your chances, you'll face the consequences.

Then you mention Javi Martinez, lol. Good luck.

It all sounds so easy

Oh God, not Roberto Martinez. And don't write off Henderson yet that kid has got talent in him.

And I agree with the other parts of your post.

Bosco

Cannot agree more. The whole place needs a serious revamp. embarrassing when whiskey nose doesn't even see us as competitors anymore. Atleast Rafa had a a plan.

I spoke to a couple of Arsenal fans today and they could not speak highly enough about David Dein . ! RedG

Complete idiocy. Thank God you have nothing to do with the club

What are your thoughts Eds and Peeps ....

Your right we need to get these players asap without waiting for other clubs to throw in bids. Moving for the barca dof lad would be good for the club however i disagree with r. martinez - i can see another roy hodson scenario - we need to if we were going to shift kd - get rafa back or aim for another european manager - i.e. marseille manager, or even fabio capello? just a shout

jav.

You mean the same Roberto Martinez who can only get his players to play in the last 10 games of every season?

We have the best manager in the prem already. You'll find out how good he really is next season.

Txiki Bergiristain speak no englaise. martinez could still be relegated with Wigan so in theory a possible? But in reality we have a manager who's vastly experienced has won everything there is to win at club level throughout his career.
Has had only one full season in charge of our "ONCE GREAT CUB" and is very close to winning 2 out of 3 domestic trophy's.
What more do you want? In the close season he will have an opportunity to balance the squad with a bit more firepower. Changing things now could set us back years.
kidmillions

Well said, totally agree at last a red who is forward thinking and not looking back at the past in anger. We need to wake up guys fact #1 Kenny is not part of the solution he is part of the problem #2 we are so far behind the top 5 that we are in danger of becoming a real mid table side...fulham...everton...stoke take your pick fact #3 FSG cannot compete with citeh or chelski's money, we have to develop our best players from the academy and bring in a top DOF like the one you mention to oversee canny transfers coming in, we dont have to work better, we have to work smarter, fact #4 there are players like carra (and very soon stevie) who are coming to the end of their careers and need to be replaced NOW fact #5 there are at least 6 players who are not and never will be worthy of the shirt as long as I've got a hole in my ar@e, get rid of them because they are doing us so much damage.

Ramblings I know but I am so very very worried at the moment, the DOF needs to be appointed asap to oversee the summer overhaul (again!!)

Martin Kelly seems a great player with a solid future at the club. He is the last player who has come through the academy who looks good enough to me. There may be a few more who could make it but only time will tell for sure.

Very few premiership teams bring players through their academies these days. Most just let other clubs do the hard work then they get the cheque book and and kerching.

If the LFC academy can't produce the players then what is the point in having one anymore?

Almost all of Barcelonas player that played on Tuesday were from their academy.

Stadium wise it would be great to have 70,000 plus every week and I think we could sell that amount of tickets every week as well, probably a bit more as well.

I agree, as much as i love Kenny Dalglish, i would love for Roberto Martinez
more than anyone to replace him. As for the DOF, i dont know much about
this department, but i do know what Txiki Bergiristain did with Barcelona, so
maybe he could bring in world class prospects/players, as well as bringing up
the likes of Sterling and Suso.
I want to see Liverpool bring in Honda (I read
on LFC.TV that liverpool only just missed out on bringing him to Anfield in
January, and are looking to secure him in the summer), also i would like to see
Liverpool give a loan opportunity to Northampton Town's Michael Jacobs and
see how he does in our reserves, Gregory van der Wiel and Jan Vertonghen from
Ajax, Leon Britton from Swansea (I read somewere that he is the best passer in
the game, even better than Xavi), and Jackson Martinez after what i have seen
of him, Jermain Defoe, Christian Tello, and Clint Dempsey to sort out our scoring
problem. Also others i would like to see; Ivan Rakitic (Sevilla), Darren Bent (A Villa),
Phillipe Coutinho (Espanyol), and Douglas (FC Twente).

So
all in all really,

IN:

Christian Tello
(£5M)
Darren Bent/Jermain Defoe (£12M/£8M)
Douglas (£11M)
Leon Britten(£7M)
Michael Jacobs (Loan)

Kweiseki Honda (£8M)
Wilfred Zaha (£6M)
Jackson Martinez (2.5M)
Gregory van der Wiel (£8M)
Jan Vertonghen (£12M)

OUT:
Dirk Kuyt -> Feyenoord
Maxi Rodriguez -> Sunderland
Glen Johnson -> Real Madrid
Charlie Adam -> Blackpool (If they get promoted, else: Tottenham)

Starting XI for 1st game of 2012/13:

Pepe Reina
Gregory van der Wiel
Douglas
Daniel Agger
Jose Enrique
Lucas Levia
Steven Gerrard
Leon Britten
Kweiseki Honda
Andy Carroll
Luis Suarez

Subs: Marc-Andre ter Stegen / Jamie Carragher / Martin Skrtle / Jordan Henderson / Stewert Downing / Wilfred Zaha / Christian Tello

We play some excellent football at times the reason we cant get the goals is because of the quality of players we have. A couple of seasons ago spearing,adam,carroll,henderson and even downing would never of been able to get into that squad because it was full of "world class" players and now we have very average players.

26 Apr 2012 16:31:43
Poulsen beeen offered extension at evian and there looks to be serious interest in elm as scouts have been sent to watch him {Ed002's Note - I can't see that Evian would be able to pay his wages which Liverpool are doing at the moment. And you are correct that there does appear to be interest in Elm from several sides.}

I drink alot of evian so they might be able to afford it. You never know.

I always feel like an ass and a fool when i support LFC and see we bought this fool and loaned out Aqua man to Juve.... what were they thinking giving Juve 5 million plus Aqua for this dannish s**t

Poulsen will most likely end up in FC copenhagen, he has exspressed a desire to return to denmark whit hes family.

Poulsen is not on loan

26 Apr 2012 16:06:48
eds do you think we will sign an exspensive player like soldado who would cost 20 million plus then some cheaper players?

also do you think we will spend as much as last summer?

thanks {Ed002's Note - It is too early to say.}

26 Apr 2012 14:59:38
If liverpool had darren bent this season they would have come top 4, in the main liverpool have played well and not finished their chances and when you are struggling in the league players come under the microscope more than they would do if you were doing better. Give kennys signings a bit more time, they are young and i seem to remember a lot of players struggling in their first season and being a hit in the second season.

S

Just like villa

If Liverpool had Ronaldo and Messi this season they still wouldn't be in the top four, because they have an inept manager.

If we end up with 2 of the 3 domestic Trophy's. How in the World could anybody call that inept Management.
kidmillions

Darren Bent seems to always be off beat in teams. Just behind the play. its weird, i don't think even he could of saved us. You forget that we had Kuyt

Cos we aint go two yet the small hurdle of possibly the euorpean champions to beat first an the league cup is a pat on the back not a trophy-lets get real if we aint top 4 we aint no where an money or not we can forget any top players want to come or even stay

I agree all we need is a goal scorer and we would have won most of our games like the west brom match, hit the post 30 times this season just need that player that can finish
as for the inept manger comment thats just ridiculous we are playing good football most of the time just need a goal scorer and we would probably be 5th/6th challenging for 4th imo
YNWA

Dont be silly you are talking rubbish . we need top top players at liverpool darren bent what a joke please.

A young expensive british player, oh yeah, everybody would have loved us to buy one of those.

Darren stop writing on the rumours page trying to push a move thru to liverpool. ha

Don't see how English players need "time" to settle tbh, I know the motto is " we're not English, we're ' scouse ' " but in all seriousness we've really f***ed up with some signings this & last season, I also think if it wernt for the racist scandal of Suarez he'd have had a brilliant season but that's my viewpoint tbh

26 Apr 2012 14:58:06
Hi Eds,

out of the names being linked with us. I would find the below list somewhat realistic and would be delighted if they joined. Do you think the list is realistc. If there's an unrealistic name, please advise?

Jackson Martinez
Kesuke Honda
Luuk De Jong
Gaston Ramirez
Matias Suarez
Clint Dempsey

Here are some outside chances that I think there might be the slight chance we could pull off. Do you agree Or are these no hopers?:

Soldado, Marko Marin, Iker Munian, Podolski, Eriksenn

Cheers, Dave {Ed002's Note - I have explained at length about each of the top list and said the level of interest that we are aware of. You can find all of this through searching. Of the others, I very much expect Podolski to join Arsenal and Eriksen is very, very unlikely. Muniain has been discussed at length - try the search function for detail.}

26 Apr 2012 14:22:10
Hey eds,
where any other clubs like man city,barca,madrid interested in torres before we sold him to Chelsea?
And did chelsea bid for him in other transfer windows?
Thanks..
Josh {Ed002's Note - Chelsea had been interested in the summer and made an acceptable bid in January. That is it in terms of bids I know of.}}

heard comolli got the sack because kenny asked for jelavic and comolli said no dont know how true it is

Doesnt sound very true to me.

Come on, are we going to sack every dof or scout when they miss out on a player to another team that turns out to be good. get real

dodge

I heard DC refused to stump up over 3.75million for him. Sure his currrent goal scoring form didnt help his cause

FowlerisGod

Jelavic is at his level not good enough for us

Everytime a player is linked with LFC people come out with "He ain't good enough for us". Then they go on to be successful. So my question is WHO is supposedly "good enough" for LFC? I see the same thing on LFC forum,this one and that one not good enough,not LFC quality etc etc. perhaps that's why LFC are where they are? Because the players we end up with are certainly not good enough(£80m)so tell me who is good enough? I suppose the Hazzards of this world that will never ever play for us until we are at least in the CL. Theres an old saying "beggars can't be choosers" unfortunalty that's where we stand at this present time. Lee73.

Totally agree with Lee73's comments. We are where we are now and it's going to take some time and a bit of luck to get back where we belong. Sometimes we can strike oil wit signing but more often of late, we end up with Istvan Kozma's.

"Jelavic is at his level not good enough for us"? You mean the player who has scored the goals to take Everton above us in the league? He was a shrewd purchase, can't argue about that, but I doubt he cost Comolli his job.

Rugby Parker

Good post Lee, I truly agree, there's plenty of quality out there other than the hazard/cavani etc...
And I personally would rather 11 good footballers who love to play, and will give it there all every game rather than players who are big headed and only care about the money
jlk

But Andy Carroll is good enough? and at six times the price...bargain!

Re AC, cannot blame him,we needed a striker urgently when FT went, Ashley had us by the danglers, and could ask for what he wanted. Who else was there at the time? I have a Chelski mate, he said we have got a good signing, he wished Chelski had bought him instead of FT. AC will be a force next season, this has just not been LFC season, bad luck after bad luck...Lee73

Not so much a rumour just a bit of info. There was plans to listen to offers for Suarez in summer but don't know how that stands now with the comolli departure and uncertainty over manager. Also guy involved in Jelavic deal says that Utd are pulling out all the stops to land Modric in summer. All i have at the minute.
cheers Ravenrudeboy

Hello ed, do u think there is a decent chance of a xabi alonso returning this summer? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Too old,Too slow we need to go forwards not backwards.
kidmillions

Can you just get over with this? He is gone and not coming back to play!

Liverpoolhead

Kid millions I wouldn't want you to manage us. He plays for arguably the best team in the world at the moment and he is the quarter back of that and you wouldn't take a player who is younger than say Bellamy. In a word your an idiot. I'd snap their hands off in a second, hes better than anyone of our players at the moment.

More chance of Jan Molby returning to play for Liverpool!

Xabi is absolute class

FowlerisGod

What's a Quarter Back? lol
Lucas is now a better player than Xabi any day of the week. Xabi played a couple of great balls last night down the channels ooh!
But in reality? without the ball he was found wanting for pace and was unable to close down in the midfield quick enough? Hence Bayerns domination of the game.
kidmillions

Real Madrid are nowhere near the best team in the World. Some great players but team? No!

This is in no way a slight on Lucas, I think he's a tremendous player, but Xabi Alonso is one of the top 5 CM's in the world, absolutely no doubt.

Rugby Parker

Lucas a better player than Alonso? For the love of Power, Noooooo!!

Morning eds , I would like to your thoughts on who LFC will appoint as new DOF and do you think we will spend big in the summer again? {Ed002's Note - No idea about the Director of Football. I would not expect "big" spending in the summer per se, but much will depend on who leaves.}

I reckon the King might get asked to move into the Director of Football position with either Jose Mourinho or a return of Rafa Benitez as manager. I guess im wishing for this more than believing it will happen

Would like to appoint borussia dortmund dof

Ed002 do you know whether or not Guardiola will leave Barca at the end of this season ?

Would love Liverpool to at least try a get him highly unlikely I know but he has always spoken highly of LFC and our Academy which is run by ex-Barca staff. On top of that he seems like an itelligent man that would choose a project over a massive budget. Surely worth a shot if Kenny leaves ? {Ed002's Note - Guardiola has a one year rolling contract and there has been the thought that he might leave on a high if he won the CL and take a year off before looking for another job. Whether it would be something he would consider after what is not a successful season in Barcelona's terms is of course a different matter. Certyainly their would be no shortage of interested clubs if he was looking immediately for another club. I somehow doubt he will end up at Liverpool in the summer.}

Don't want him, anybody can be Barca Coach and win silverware, there's any Madrid that really challenge them, just like in Scotland there's any Celtic or Rangers, we should either keep Kenny and let him build a team just like Fergie did(remember it took him 5 years to win his 1st piece of silverware and if i remember right he was on the verge of getting the sack), or try and get either Rodgers of Swansea or Emery of Valencia.

BigD

Apparently there is an announcement tomorrow. If so, Guardiola has almost certainly stepped down.

Now it gets interesting!

According to guillem balague, Guardiola will announce tomorrow he's leaving because there's too much pressure and he wants a break from football.

Announced on sky sports he has told Barca he is leaving at the end of the season to take time out
Big Al NWales

He will be taking time out of the game as widely publicised

Are liverpool looking at sao paulo's lucas, he is top quality already and only 18, as gd as gotze. I think we need to look at braxil a lot of gd youngsters there: dede(cb), casmero(cdm) and obviously neymar but probs out of lfc's price range {Ed002's Note - No, Liverpool are not involved with any of these players. There is strong interest in Lucas from Chelsea who have made a cash bid but he could well end up at Inter in a complex ownership deal. Both Milan clubs, Real Madrid, Fiorentina, Benfica and Roma have shown an interest in Dede over the past couple of years but Juventus, Manchester United and Bayern Munich retain a serious interest in the player. Anzhi may look to make a bid in the summer but would prefer to wait until the end of the season in December. Sao Paulo's Casemiro will almost certainly move to Genoa in a part ownership deal with Inter. Neymar is not a viable option.}

Hi eds and macca, the daily Mirror are claiming that Manchester United and Real Madrid are hoping to buy Sao Paulo attacking midfielder Lucas for £12m deal. Can you confirm if his is true? Isn't he meant to be the next best thing to come out of brazil? 12m seems a little on the cheap side....at that price do you think LFC would attempt to buy him based on us having an interest......your thoughts? Appreciate your feedback.......StevieC

{Ed002's Note - Did they make it clear it was the agent who contacted Manchester United rather than Manchester United contacting him? This is just Ribeiro and Pedroso playing up as usual. Don't read too much in to it and I really don't see it happening. They all want Lucas Moura to move to Inter Milan but Inter cannot match the offer Chelsea made in January and certainly cannot enter in to an auction with Chelsea. A third party ownership deal and some complex deal involving several other players seems to be what they are looking to broker right now. It is another Neymar waiting to happen - the difference is right now that Sao Paulo would probably take Chelsea's cash deal over any complex deal put together by Ribeiro. Knowing that he is hawking him around looking for a second cash bidder - and he has approached Bayern Munich as well. £12M is a long way from what has already been offered for the player.}

Appreciate your feedback and keep up the good work
