Seen on another website we may be back in for affelay.
I would love to see him turning out for us, intelligent player quick with and without the ball, young, strong with a keen eye for goal.....

Southern scouse.....

I wish

I think this could happen now that we see clear out after clear out of our dead wodd.

Hope we can get rid of J.Cole, Ngog, Degen, Poulsen and Jones as well.

Coates and maybe Bellamy coming in.I rather have Afellay than Bellamy, but if both of them come, then that's fine.

LFC for life

Offer Carroll back to Newcastle and try and get Lorente or Gomez :)

Carroll is going to shine this season!!! i bet you'll be THAT GUY that says "i had all the faith in him all along" - why do you post something like this ED's

Oh dear, should have known such comments about Carroll were around the corner, shocking

Shocking mate, how about having some faith in the lad,and king kenny! Just remember where the club were last year and all the crap going on behind the seens, caroll will be class as will our other new players,as Liverpool fans let's get behind every player that pulls on our great shirt and enjoy what could be a great season! Cheers gleese

Andy Carroll is simply not good enough! Your the guys who will be proven wrong!

You're*

We'll wait and see, at the end of the season i hope Carroll will have more than justified his price tag but even if he doesn't, i'll still support him if he's in a Liverpool shirt.

Carrol will be class

Andy carroll was good enough to score nearly every game for newcastle and if you look back at the footage of him playing for newcastle he had a big smile on his face, that smile is now gone i think he has the talent but maybe a lack of confidence at the moment something that the fans can help with so to all the haters stop bitching and start supporting
cmon the pool and that means everyone not just suarez and gerrard

Be careful what you wish for a. Carroll is a great player we just havnt seen the best of him every1 seems to forget he was top goalscorer last year before he got injured with 11 goals before January he then only scored 2 more goals for Liverpool due to his injury that's 13 goals just 7 short of the top goal scorer in England last season and he only really played half a season.

Also he's only 22. I bet all the people that right bad about him ni will be first to say told ya andy Carroll would be good what a player because thats what football fans( if you can call them that) do ni days they change opinion on a player after every game without looking at the bigger picture grow up and support your team and remember when people ask you who do you support before you say Liverpool remember andy Carroll is part of that

PR*CK! Back the boys. All of them!

Tamworth RED

Carroll will be England's number 9 for the next 10 years. Yes he was expensive at 35M but that's not his fault.

Get off his back, support him and watch him shine. As soon as he bags a few goals he'll be playing with a smile on his face.

Geoff

Oh ye of little faith ....he gonna be awesome , just hang fire lad.

We tried them both before carroll n failed

Ed I was onto u a few months ago I'm a taxi driver in Dublin and I posted a post about a bloke who does some drivin for VIPs he chauffeured Suarez around while his visa cleared or sumthn and he did the same for Gerard kuyt and suarez when the addidas home from home was on over here do u remember me posting this??? Anyway get to the point I met him their again and asked any VIPs goin he said he's a collection from Dublin airport early in the morning a footballer connected to lfc he has to do the same drive around for a bit and back to the airport I said is it the new lad Coates he had now idea as I have said before he has no clue about football eds do u think this is Coates clearing the visa like Suarez did (you can look back and you'll find I posted bout him drivin the players he's legit) ya ed's love the site Jay Dublin!

Eds comment on 100s and 100s posts a week, how could you possible expect them to remember? Nd coates is a liverpool player in all but name everybody knows this..

Who said it was Coates I guessed it was him and if u read the post he drove Suarez while his visa cleared I have no idea why this happens but it does maybe one of the ed's can clear it up??? But it's 100% he drove Suarez around and it seems to be that this is wat he has to do again Coates or not?

I read page everyday and I remember this post, if memory serves I believe the driver asked who's coming in and Dirk said a Spaniard to which they all laughed, granted Enrique has only just signed but it is widely accepted he would have signed straight away if it wasn't for Newcastle being greedy (again)!!
P.S I think people should stop being critical of Henderson and Carroll!! Support your team and your players, if it ain't bad enough that I've got listen to Manure, Chelski and s**teh fans banging on about how we've wasted our money and there crap without our own fans doing it!! Take a step back lads and think about it!! Support Liverpool FC, Support Kenny and let's have a Fooking good crack at it this season!! YWNWA

That's exactly the truth pal thanx for the back up and I couldn't agree more we have to support the lads more it's early days (ed's again can u clarify why if their waitin on a visa they get sent across the pond) ta Jay Dublin

Wel Jay

I remember the post and at the time I commented it was a good post the reason being they have to fly into the country And leave it again before the visa is cleared... I recall sky sports saying this when surez was taking time to be finalised..

Paul Dundalk
Ynwa

Cheers Paul it's weird they have to do that I'm back on the rank 2nite hopefully il find out who it was he was collecting il post it when I find out cheers Jay Dublin ynwa

We should finalise a deal for Sebastian Coates today for a 7mil fee. (For Liverpool fans, its pronounce "Co-argh-tes" :D)

And the club will also try and finalise the "free" Bellamy deal by the 30th but he will come in for a medical on Bank Holiday Monday.

Liverpool will also bid 7mil for Arsenal, City, Spurs target M'Baye Niang. Liverpool have been after the signing of a striker who can play on the shoulder of the last defender (hence the signing of Bellamy, but at 32, this is only temporary) and see Niang as someone who can do this well.

That will probably be the only signings in, unless a 10mil bid comes in for Skrtel as it is rumoured it may be. We will then spend up to £15mil on Cahill.

Going out:
Cole to Spurs (1mil) Insua to PSV (2.5mil) Poulsen (1mil) N'gog (4mil with buy back of 7mil)

Coates is an English name, pronounced 'coats'. No need to immitate the Spanish mispronunciation of it

I second that reply, he better get used to it!

I heard from a Chelsea source that we are inquiring about 2 Chelsea players. Kalou and Sturridge but Chelsea are refusing to negotiate on Sturridge. But kalou feels he will struggle for game time but wants to stay in prem

Redjay

Was it some cockney geezer down the battle cruiser?.......wearing sun glasses, big gold chain and sheep skin coat............yeah i know who ye mean geez yeah right.
how lucky we would be eh

Sturridge not for sale and who wants or needs Kalou?

26 Aug 2011 20:24:12
Sebastin Coates has undergone and passed his medical at Melwood. Coates has himself confirmed that he's joining Liverpool.

Y.N.W.A.

How do you know this?

Of course he has,..seen it plastered all over the news,..not!!!

kop71

All that LFC are waiting for before making the deal official is work permit clearance. Once that has been obtained expect an announcement on the LFC site.
vrcomp

The work permit would come after the announcement you dont need one to sign a player, just to play him.

roberto martinez said that liverpool are to late to bid for rodellaga

Money talks .......

Old news. your 2 days to late.

Chelsea set to offer a swap deal for Sturridge and Kalou for Meireles.
Source, LFC BIG REDS Family on Facebook

Id rather benayoun n sturridge,
5gold stars

I think Meireles is a great footballer, lovely skills etc.
But he's very soft.
Titles are not won with soft players who go down and stay down. Titles are won by hard players, we've had them, our opponents have had them. Kenny is building a strong, physically and mentally tough squad to win the title. If Meireles is swapped so be it. MP

That will obviously not hsppen as much as i'd love to see sturridge in a red shirt

So we are refusing to give meireles the deal he was promised, but will take two players in exchange who will cost more in wages?? Can't see it

This deal should not happen. Meireles will be influential for Liverpool this season. Adding Kalou to our already overcrowded midfield will not make Liverpool much better than what they already are.

Ain't ever gonna happen buddy! oooopps sorry if it's on facebook or twitter it must be true!

Martin Chaquero, respeced Uruguayan journalist who's been tracking the Coates transfer, is saying Nacional have rejected Atletico's offer. He says it was better than Liverpool's, but Coates wants to play for us. Loving the enthusiasm for our club from him, we need players who want to play for the shirt!

DP

Love this, proves Liverpool are still a superpower in football. Only hope this player is as talented, passionate and committed as he sounds.

26 Aug 2011 18:46:34
ive heard we are going for rodallega from wigan. He has 12 months left on his contract but Martinez has said he is not leaving this window due to their only 1 week left and he wont be able to find a replacement. I think we could sign him in January or get him on a free next season. Also Cahill has 1 year left at Bolton, since Coyle is being a Ar*ehole i dont think any teams will put a bid in for him this window or january window since Coyle wants 15 million for a player with 1 year left. So Coyle has shot himself in the foot because Cahill could leave for free next season to either us, Arsenal or spurs instead of him getting 15 million. Too greedy

Yes Coyle is a right muppet

How does that mean Coyle is being an ar*ehole. He's holding out for as much money as possible for a valuable member of his team. Would you say Kenny was an ar*ehole if he did the same?

How is it too greedy? If Coyle keeps the player, then he'll have a top class centre-back for the entire season. If he lets him go now, then it's unlikely he'll find a replacement as good. Football managers don't last long in their jobs, so it makes sense to keep your best players. The only offer he's received is a disgraceful 6m offer from Arsenal. Even if he keeps him until January, he'd probably get at least 6m from somebody, possibly more. Coyle isn't being an ar*hole - the only ar*hole so far in the Cahill saga is Wenger. I like our chances of getting Cahill in January or at the end of the season as long as he doesn't move now. Might be a nice replacement for Skrtel, or for Carra longterm.

I could be wrong but I think that Owen Coyle may want to keep him at the club in the hope of achieving European football. Thus some of the money lost in a transfer would be off-set. His replacement is already at the club and they would have the added bonus of not having to pay any of the sell-on fee to Aston Villa

I told you all yesterday that we are deep in discussion with Twente over Bryan Ruiz. No further news to report on this move at the moment, and as I said before, it may depend on whether Cole agrees to move to London.

One piece of news I have heard today is regarding Lucas, we did infact recieve an offer for his services on the 16th Aug, no idea how much was offered but I can confirm the offer was from Arsenal. I know no more than that, I would assume the offer was dismissed, as it was submitted 10 days ago. But there is a chance it could still be under consideration.

Personally, I would hate to see the lad go, I have been really impressed by his growth as a player, in the last year, and believe he will improve even further in the years to come. I just hope thats with us.

Mr Yellow

You really should read all of the responses to your last post. give it up mate, your credibility was shot to pieces. Even if both Coates and Ruiz come to pass, you will not be even in the first 3 to mention it for Coates and likely not the top 10 on Ruiz. Stop trying to rebadge other peoples comments as your own. Big tip, use the SEARCH function top right of the Rumours screen before posting. Comments like "I told you all yesterday" just make you look a fool when Chi Paul told us in July.

fwiw, i hope both come to pass and from the consensus on the forum over the past month, Coates seems 90%.

Knowing Wenger IF he made an offer for Lucas it likely was a pint of lager and a packet of cheese and onion crisps.

26 Aug 2011 18:40:06
Sebastian Coates has the potential to become a 20+ million pound player in the future, if he takes to the EPL. So this could be exactly what the criteria stated, hopefully it will be a good bit of business.

Really looking forward to see him play for us. He's good in FM and also shows potential in real life, that's gotta mean something right?

26 Aug 2011 17:53:33
Liverpool are to make a bid for a young player from Leeds United. I dont know the name but understand all scouts who have watched him have give excellent reports.

Hopefully the scouts know his name, eh?

Max gradel by any chance

I am a leeds fan, & i haven't heard this rumour. I assume if its anyone it will be gradel, but realistically i don't think liverpool are going to buy a championship player with no prem experience.

26 Aug 2011 18:05:40
I was talking with John hartson yesterday. His son and my son are in the Swansea City academy together, I asked the question about wheather Craig Bellamy would go to Liverpool, and he said its definitely on. will be a Liverpool player by Monday

Id rather have the big man!

26 Aug 2011 17:45:01
Coates to sign tomorrow and will be at the bolton game and bellamy and maybe one winger to sign on deadline day... hmm interesting times ahead!

Arrrgghhh! always someone going to sign on deadline day! Who is it this time?

Bryan ruiz aslong as cole and n'gog leave

26 Aug 2011 17:33:06
As coates will sign sometimes the work permit can be weeks or more so i expect anyway we sign DANN/CAHILL i expect Dann because he be around 8 million and coates is believed to be 7 million so 2 cb for price Cahill even tho would loved see cahill hes quality defender.
Bellamy will definitely sign he's massive kk fan and sort player who would love play for a legend bring best out of him and think kenny love to manage him as hes a fighter.
I expect bellamy to sign the weekend.

steersy

Do you mean Dann and Cahill or Dann or Cahill? I Can't believe we need 6 first line CB's.Even 5 seems a lot with Wilson and maybe Kelly able to play there as well.

Athletico have made a last ditch bid for Coates!

It don't matter his heart is set for liverpool

Why would he go to Bilbao?? Unless u spelt it wrong and meant Atletico for Atletico Madrid!

Wouldnt matter anyway like the previous poster said he has his heart set on Liverpool

According to the Italian press we haven't ruled out a bid for Roma striker Borrielo. Apparently the Roman outfit are "desperate" to offload him but he ruled out a move to Fulham. We've asked them to wait till we know what's happening with Bellamy before we consider the 29 year old Italian as a striking option.
Does anyone know a)How good he is or b) Why Roma are "desperate" to get rid. Fair enough if they need to sell to buy, but the word "desperate" could suggest injury/attitude/performance problems.
ANFIELDPETE

I dont think we will ever touch another player from an Italian club ever again after they way we have been shaft over Aqualini

This is a text from caughtoffside so please say where it has come from.

I'll be honest, I can't remember. It came from LFC POST who collate all the current LFC news. I normally reject info from certain sources but, on this occasion, I just leapt in.
ANFIELDPETE

I posted on the 23/8 we were interested in this player. Apparently Roma have not long since signed him June/July this year but reports suggest that his attitude is dire, thus the reason Roma want rid.
vrcomp

Erm...I highly doubt Roma will "get rid" considering they just signed the guy :S

Red Ollie

Borrielo's not a bad player, had a good season with genoa a couple of years back,at milan he did his job fairly well but had limeted opportunities, with roma scored some nice goals, but there seems to me a recuring problem all his clubs want to get rid of him after 1/2 seasons, i dont know why but my guess is, he has a shark for an agent, the player likes the spotlight on top, a mix of arrogance and poor managment have held him back cos talented he is. sorry for the long post anfield pete/readers just i follow the italian league and he was looking prommising a while back. kyb

Is he the young chap who used to play for AC Milan when Beckham was there 18 months ago ? If it is he was really poor, average at best.

Red Ollie
Please read what has been posted before making STUPID replies. I've said he has only just signed, they tried to off load him to Fulham and the player rejected the move, hence they offered him to us. The reason they want to "get rid" is quite simply his attitude is "very poor"
vrcomp

Please don't sign Borrielo he's poor!!!

'Is he the young chap who used to play for AC Milan when Beckham was there 18 months ago' It quite clearly says he's 29, so I hardly doubt thats him

If LFC cannot agree a deal for Bellamy over the weekend expect a bid for Papiss Cisse from Freiburg to be made. N'gog transfer all dependant on us getting cover for him, and if the Man City forward does not return to Anfield Kenny will make an approach for Cisse before transfer day dead line.

Celtic fan here, I watched the Copa America when it was on and if you manage to secure Coates it will be the signing of the season IMO.

Outstanding player who reads game well and is fast, strong and great in the air. He was voted young player of the tournament at the COPA and an absolute stand out during the competition.

12 m for him be great bit of business and if he settles here he will be a legend.

Johnboymcs

I wanted izaguire!! now thats a player which will excite. Real shame about the injury!

8 million will be even better business !!

Thanks Johnboymcs, he looks a beast of a player!!.........Looks like Celtic could be back in Europe 'cos Sion fielded "several" ineligible players last night according to Radio5 Live !!
ANFIELDPETE

Thanks Johnboymcs, its nice to get a more unbias opinion.
wheeler92

Thanks lads, although our perfromance last night was shocking we'll take the next stages via default if we can !!! Lets hope (although UEFA don't have a great record of helping us out :-)

All the best for the new season

All the best to you aswell Johnboymcs

if the reports are true about wenger bidding 6 million for cahill then he is a disgrace, his treatment of other teams when they pursue his players is shocking and to then bid such a pathetic offer for probably boltons best player is absolutely shocking after all his trash talk of nasri and fabregas, a desperate desperate man he is indeed, whether or not cahill has 1 year remaining on his contract or not. I realize this isn't much of a liverpool post but we have been linked with cahill, i'd hope kenny would treat bolton with a little more respect than that, wengers time is running out i feel,

What if it's not true?

He only has a year left on HO's contract Bell*#*. and whats with all the respect crap. Every teams nearly as bad as another!!!!!

Wenger has said on the telly, that he bid more than 6m, and its up to bolton to make their minds up, why you got your pants in a twist, it aint your money is it!!!

mannie

Divvy why do u think wenger is still there he is a master tactision u fool and has made money of all his players he has sold on if ur a liverpool fan this has nothing to do with us reds consintrate on supporting the reds than looking wot other gaffa's are doing

There, of course, is always the possibility that Kroenke won't give Wenger the money from the Fibreglass and Nasri sales.

TSP

What does it matter what he bids for anyone? If the club don't want it, they can reject it. I really don't see the issue. He could bid 1m, it really makes no difference. Bolton are the stupid ones for making it public and bringing more publicity to it. Surely if they don't want to sell, you'd keep quiet about it and not bring more attention to the bid?

Bit of a pathetic and pointless rant.

Didn't sign my last post. but just to add to it, I'm not Wenger's biggest fan but maybe you should read up on what he said before saying these things because it really makes you look childish and someone who lacks any knowledge.

Wenger has never constantly moaned about Nasri and Cesc. All he ever said about Cesc is that the Barca players should stop talking about a player who's not theres. With Nasri, he said it was wrong of Mancini to talk about a player who was not his and no official bid had been made for at the time.

Anyway I suggest reading other news now and then. May help enhance your knowledge.

Rey

I like Arsenal and Wenger.

What's your problem? Would you rather they went out and wasted on 20m him for the sake of it, like City did with Lescott?

Adam

So, when newcastle quoted 15m or so for Enrique we should have just paid it?

He's bidding to feel them out and get the best price he can, or would you do it your way and come in over the top.

Nah I agree, Wenger is a tool. No doubt he has done a lot for Arsenal and for the Premier League actually but he is stitching up their fans by being so stubborn. I bet he won't make a signing of any note before the end of the window, just so he can try to prove a point....Actually, what do I care? I'm an LFC fan!

What are you on about wengers time is not running out no matter what people say about the man he's a top manager when these so called big players leave he replaces them always petit veira bergkamp overmars anelka they were all replaced and to be fair Cahill is probably only worth 7-10 mil anyway come on what's he done.

As the years have gone by so wenger has slipped into this cartoon like character where everyone is wrong and he is the only one who is right. now if his team were winning trophies i could understand that but they arnt... he should be more humble. its actually sad to see a very decent man and manager change like that.
Wayne

No wonder the gooners are getting fed up with wenger lol

It makes sense to me, especially with us signing coates it is now less likely we will be going after cahill so there is potentially less competition for wenger to worry about, this is real life mate with real money changing hands not a board game.

oh NO!!!Rumours gathering around Anfield, Coates/Liverpools request for a work permit has been declined, he has limited international caps, this is why liverpool have not confirmed they have agreed the fee, as there is an appeal underway, which people say is likely to still be declined!"

He will get a permit that has all been done he wouldnt travel here otherwise once he settles in we will have the best centre back in the world apart from carra

Nope work permit is fine mate don't believe the rumours, he will sign should of had a medical today but more than likely be Sunday/Monday now
D-Red

Don't worry, he can get in as a Spaniard as his mother is Spanish.

maka

He can get a Spainish pasport if needs be anyways so you're scare mongering won't work in here. I'm making an educated guess that you are no a Liverpool supporter, take you're end of world whailing elsewhere.

Bommy

Here we go again, another Manc commenting on our page.

There was always a possibility it would be declined due to international appearances. BUT his mother is Spanish which entitles him to a Spanish passport and that will give him European clearance. It will just take a little longer for him too do things this way.
vrcomp
Y.N.W.A.

He got best young player at the copa America which should help, no surprise though

How full of crap are you, he will get one on exceptional talent god grow up!

Don't panic everyone! If needs be, the visa will be granted due to the fact he is an exceptional talent, and as he is coming to the biggest team in Europe, will be allowed to show off his skills thanks to this wonderful loophole.

The Mighty Beams! YNWA {Ed002's Note - In it not a loophole.}

Yes but we all know the majority of negative rumours come from all the blue noses standing around Anfield.

Yeah them blue noses stirring it up.Just because the nearest they got to a transfer this summer is one they bought with a pack of stickers!

If! and I reiterate - if! a work permit application was to "fail" then surely we would have solid grounds of appeal citing the Hernandez transfer as a precedent, stating ol' Blue noses reasoning - 'exceptional talent'.*

*Dependant on Coates signing and passing a medical of course

Isnt it nice that the mancs and blue noses are so worried about us that they have now resorted to some crazy story to try and p*** us off...sorry pal, it wont work...we are the redmen and we are on the rise so beware !

Ha ha this is so obviously an evertonian, no end of window transfers for them, so they have to try and get in on ours! ha ha ha

What part of manchester are you from ? cheaper than jones and far better, sweet :-)

A lot of misinformation here. First of all, the initial post is hilariously stupid. If Arsenal can obtain a permit for Ryo Myaichi, I'm sure Coates will get one. No, his mother isn't Spanish. But that does not matter. He would not have travelled if we thought he couldn't obtain the permit. ANyway, if we rate him, we'd still sign him and loan to a European side until he had the requisite number of caps. I like that your source is 'people.' It gives us a reson to believe you. Inflammatory nonsense.

When are people going to realise that a footballer's work permit isn't dependant just on the number of caps they might have.As another poster says as an "exceptional talent" and best young player of the Copa America he qualifies easily!

Hahah, fellow LFC mates, did you know that Coates transfer fee is enough to buy Man Utd????. If Moses saw Funguson's face, there would be another commandment!!!..

26 Aug 2011 14:35:16
We will sign Bellamy,Dann and Coates...
Possibly a big signing on Deadline Day!!

And why would we wait until deadline day to BUY? so we can get last minute time pressured inflation like last time?

U muppet every1 knows were not getting dann and why wait until deadline day I would of thought kk and dc would want Coates and Bellamy in the side as quick as possible so they could settle in.Y.N.W.A

Aha! Another severe case of deadline day fever and as always a secret un-named player to sign!

what has happened with Nacho, Bueno and them 2 chinese lads that came on trial?

How can people hit the unbelievable button to a question?

i am not the person who submitted that, was just really surprised by the fact that people thought a question was unbelievable.

it was....well....unbelievable.

Regards

Un-unbelievable.

Bueno can't sign for the Pool until he's 18, and the 2 chinese lads now work in The Mandarin Castle Takeaway around the corner from Melwood.

Lovett 32

The two chinese lads were just competition winners i think.
adam mc.

Nacho signed - Liverpool are believed to have paid 150,000 up front with a further 350,000 of potential add-ons, plus a 15% sell-on fee.

villyan bijev - signed three-year contract and i think was sent to genk straight away to get first team experience

The two chinese lads are working in Buffet Star 'all you can eat' on Hanover street!

Hi ED's great excitement building for transfer day! INS for liverpool are Coates, Bellamy, Cahill/Dann plus 1 of McCourt/Bennayoun/B Ruiz OUTS Cole to spurs, Skyrtel to Arsenal, Ngog to bolton and Poulsen to west brom! Plus. Heard that liverpool offered Wolves Ngog ± £7.5m and spearing on season loan for K doyle but wolves said NO WAY! Y..N..W..A. Thanks ED'S DHH L20 KOPITE!

I think if Skrtle leaves it will be to Anzhi. They have plenty of money and his wages would be higher I believe.

man city have let bellamy go on a free

26 Aug 2011 13:39:54
Believe me or not, but I'm from Cardiff n my mates family is friends with bellamys family who still live here n Liverpool an spurs are interested in him, now he would prefer the move to anfield but only if they offer a two year contract If not he will choose spurs who are offerin a two year contract.
Cymru red

I find this very hard to believe considering I also knows Craigs family fairly well. One thing they never do is spout off about Craigs future so you wouldnt have any indication as to what Craig wants to do. The only statement Craig made was to state that he would love to remain at Cardiff City but knew it werent possible.

Sunderland also want him

Well then we shall see who is correct then

So i guess the guy who posted this has basically took an article about brad Friedel and swapped his name with bellamy, and the place name from Birmingham to cardiff.

Have a feeling he is telling the truth.

I fully believe bellamy will sign should liverpool want him! spurs interest is fairytale.

Spurs again every time we're linked with a player Spurs come along it's as if they haven't got a scouting team of their own and are waiting for us to identify targets then tagging along.

Rumours that Atletico Madrid have bid 8m for Coates.

Won't make any difference if they bid 20 mill for him, he wants to join the EPL and his prefered destination is LFC. Medical this afternoon and if he passes will be announced after tomorrow's game.

Rubbish. why would ATM be operating in . $8m = 4m.

eds now that it seems we have coates do you think this means an end to any chance for cahill/dann? {Ed002's Note - I suspect it does.}

Hope so, i dont rate niether

I Think he will be a better signing than the two mentioned.

Liverpool Echo reporting Cole is finally on his wayout of Anfield.

I thought he left 8 months ago lol
all joking aside good luck to him, least he can say hes been at a big club now

26 Aug 2011 12:54:04
meireles Eds whats the chances of Meireles staying this season?. I realy rate him, very cultured. Would be a shame to not sort out the problems with him or atleast try. The only good thing Woy done in his time at the club. {Ed002's Note - There is every likelihood he will stay.}

He's injured now anyway, and we are the only team who buys crocked players you no that. sorry if this is a bit downbeat but i am still smarting from the aqua saga, made especially worse today when reading dc comments in echo, praising the money grabbing rats attitude over this whole fiasco, unbelievable ! you would think we have made something out of this deal the way he was talking, not totally scorched like we have been, apart from that everything is peachy.

anything in these Bryan Ruiz rumours Ed? better than bellamy in my opinion. have Liverpool made a bid for Ruiz? {Ed002's Note - I know of nothing aside from interest from Fulham, Leverkusen and possibly Newcastle.}

All seem like tosh mate. Shame though, he would be a great signing.

Bryan Ruiz on his way for 12m.
Bellamy on his way on a free.
We will be spoilt for choice upfront!

Eds Do you know the situation regarding Antoine Griezmann? Is LFC still interested?

Many thanks! -red norwegian- {Ed002's Note - Valencia, Marseille, Lyon and Atletico Madrid have been interested but I don't think Liverpool were. At present it looks like he is staying where he is. If Liverpool had even the slightest interest it would have gone when Downing was bought.}

26 Aug 2011 10:49:19
Ed a very reliable person on twitter has said that our chief scout watched sochaux vs nancy at the weekend and was watched marvin martin and ryan boudabouz. Do you think we might be looking at martin as an alternative to benayoun? {Ed002's Note - I doubt it.}

Man City paying the remaining 10 months of Craig Bellamys contract to pave the way for him to return to Liverpool on a free transfer.

I am surprised but i know it can be a blessing. We are struggling to sell aquilani but City have got talent in abundance so much that they are paying the player to come to us. I feel inferior to city. My personal feeling no need to hammer me. Now i know why comolli was in spain by seeing the number of players shippped to spain. I just hope we dont rely on suarez to spark a game. we have been lucky to have him. He throw so much in a match we need a few players who understand his style of play else he may get disappointed and the door of Real and Barcelona will be opened for him. I think for this season he will play for liverpool but later on he will need to secure his and his familly future so guys don't blame him. I read on other forums our rivals fan are praying he get injured and become like torres. Why only suarez?

Our rivals are all muppets. Man utd are only looking after things while we take a break from winning. Times are changing our time is comming back

I read he still has 2 years on his contract, don't post rubish

26 Aug 2011 10:19:59
Harry the Red Nutter {Ed002's Note - We know that the club was considering the midfield because of interest in Benayoun, so Gago would not be entirely out of the question. At the beginning of the window he looked a distinct possibility. I know nothing of the finances for Bellamy.}
---------

Gago will go back to argentina. Its not finalised but its about 80% done.

ssn say bolton reject gary cahill bid from arsenal
hope that this encourages liverpool to make a bid for him before he becomes another player missed out on

Helllooo!!!!! we are getting coates!! so why would we need cahill. keep up man for heavens sake!! really do you not read the press or have it read to you by a grown up!!

We could sell Skrtle to Anzhi and use the cash to buy Cahill. That would give us 4 quality CB's though and it might be hard to keep them all happy.
CR

What!!!!!!!!! We are signing coates you clown good god do you live in the clouds.
DCG

What players have we missed out on out of curiosity? {Ed002's Note - Wickham certainly.}

Hellooo!!!!! Carragher is on his last legs, Agger is injury prone, Wilson isnt the finished article, and Skrtel raises the occasional question mark - Coates is coming in but is young and needs time. It makes perfect sense for Liverpool to look to the future and go for Cahill now and look to offload 'the weaker' CB next summer. One track mind.

Ped

KK can't have pushed too hard for wicham, surely if we really wanted him we would have got him, I do however feel we should persue Cahill, quality plyer good on the ball , we do need cover in that area as Coates is also not the finished article and players coming straight in from South America take time to adjust...look at Lucas !!1

I make it about 50 players we have now "missed out" on. It's such a shame. We would have some squad if we signed them all, or even made a bid, or even expressed an interest in any of them.

If your good enough to play your old enough.. None of this nonsense that coates is too youung and not ready.. Then why are we looking to sign him when you discribe the liverpool defence as a disaster.. Seriously get behind the players we have bought and looking to buy !..

WE dont need another hoofer we have Old man Jamie for that, no offence to the man he is my idol but i know he knows we all know the legs are gone...
Quigz23

Cahill not worth the money he is for sale at. and skrtle i rate highly and anyone that doubts go change your team because your not worth to be called a liverpool fan as all our players are putting everything into it

Are you mad? Carras never been Usain Bolt you nugget. Look a Sami, he had the same 0-60 a Henry the 8th an still 'in my opinion' the best center half we've had in the past 20 years.

Carras legs have gone you Sir are a imbecile

As another poster mentions with total accuracy "50 missed signings"! In case you haven't realised we CAN'T sign every player a fan likes the look of without bankrupting the club

Everyone knows skrtel is a good defender but he concedes penalties too often

Skrtel was only bought as a cheaper option to Vidic,a few years back under the OLD regime. He has a good record with staying injury free, but yes he gives needless penalty's and free kicks away.In Many people's opinion he does not cut the mustard.Cahill would fit straight in,no need for a settling in period, like Coates,Wilson. Also it would also stop our competitor getting him.

Can one of the Ed's clear this up for me as i am a little confused with the pacheco situation, on out site it said we have loaned him to Atletico Madrid, but in Marca his pictured in a Rayo Vallacano kit, which says hes moved from madrid. is it possible for them to loan a player that is allready on loan?? {Ed002's Note - It depends on the provision of the loan. My understanding is that he will be making a permanent move to Atletico Madrid and by doing this they can take the player at any time convenient to them - so no need to wait for a transfer window. You would not get away with it in England.}

I've heard it that Atletico have taken Pacheco on Loan with a right to buy option at the end of the La Liga Season. They in turn have loaned him straight out to Rayo Vallacano so that he can cut his teeth on La Liga and make any mistakes he needs to playing for them instead of Atletico.

Basically a try before you buy as if he doesn't do very well at Vallacano then Atletico just won't take up the option on him.

A very very bizarre bit of business all told

As i understand it he's been loaned to Athletico for the season with an option to buy, however they have sub-loaned him to rayo after liverpool gave there permission to UEFA for this to happen.

Yossi's Twitter:

'Even though I don't know if I will stay or not I decided to give Mata the number 10-his favourite.for me its just a number-not my lucky 15'

Aquilani has squad number 15 - so Yossi could have his lucky number if he came back.

Personally i think he will be heading to a European team - possible Roma as rumoured.

He will only come back if we match the wages he is on now,so unless we pay-up he wont come.

Liverpool FC are closing in on a deal for FC Twente winger Bryan Ruiz ....what do u think ed any truth coz i think better option than bellemy

source:Footybunker

Vivek12011 {Ed002's Note - It is tough to see right now - certainly I would be surprised to see both arrive.}

Twente is out of European footy altogether and we need a RW urgently, so i can see why this rumour might have legs. He would be an excellent signing, IMO.

Bryan Ruiz is by far a better option than Bellemy! hes still young and bellemys 32

HI eds,was chatting to a friend ex player still involved,he mentioned we were very interested in signing rodallega from wigan but couldnt agree on a fee, manager martinez was very disapointed seeing the player is in the last year of his contract and will be available for free next summer(they need the cash)Liverpool management figure bellamy will see us through for this season after which we will be in the champions league and in a better position to pick and choose the few players needed for us to win the league,he said the owners are nice people but if we are not in the top four this season heads will roll and everbody understands that.

Oh right! Champions League in one season or wholesale sackings. That makes loads of sense. We had one total F**K UP when Woy was put in charge so now if KD doesn't do it in one season he gets booted out along with the coaching staff and half the squad. We'll really make progress that way.

26 Aug 2011 07:05:49
Eds, I heard that Real Madrid have made Fernando Gago available at a cut price of 8.5m. I know we have already replenished our midfield for the season, but there was interest in January. Could KD and DC make an attempt to sign for the upcoming season.

Also how much of a paycut is Craig Bellamy willing to take to play for LFC. Is Dann going to be one more defensive addition since Kyrgiakos is now gone. A CB was on the agenda all along, but I wonder if another is due.

Harry the Red Nutter {Ed002's Note - We know that the club was considering the midfield because of interest in Benayoun, so Gago would not be entirely out of the question. At the beginning of the window he looked a distinct possibility. I know nothing of the finances for Bellamy.}

Bellamy will be on pay as you play as man city are giving him 90k a week for next 10 months anyway

Morning Eds

Just a line to say we all really appreciate your time to keep us up to date with possibles and give a reality check on peoples pipe dreams.

I dont know if its me or not but it seems like only 5 minutes since last season ended, here we are nearly at the end of the transfer window and into the new season.

We have made some really good signings and given a little time should gel into a good solid ,hopefully consistent team.Henderson and Carroll are both WIP (work in progress)

Since we seem to be in pole position for Coates with the possible Bellamy signing also.Do all of you think that our business is complete or will there be a deadline day surprise?

REDFORLIFE

{Ed002's Note - Thanks for that. I don't know that anything is firmed up in respect of Bellamy just yet. In terms of surprises, the thought process is that if Dalglish was chasing Benayoun then there is a chance he, or an alternate, will still arrive.}

26 Aug 2011 04:58:29
Hi eds. Goal.com reporting Bellamy deal off due to his unwillingness to take a pay cut. Is this true or another of their fabricated rumours? What are we offering him? He would be a good addition to the squad. {Ed002's Note - You would need Macca to answer this, sorry. I am sure he will pipe up when there is something to say.}

They put up a new story today saying man city would pay the final year of his contract to help his move.

Oh right thanks

Liverpool's Dani Pacheco has joined Spanish outfit Rayo Vallencano on a sub-loan from Atletico Madrid, after initially agreeing to move to the Vicente Calderon on a season-long loan.

The agreement sees Atletico retain a call-back option on the player so they can request that he returns should they require his services at any point during the season. This will allow the 20-year-old to gain valuable first team experience, while also giving Atletico an insurance option for the 2011/12 campaign.

There are also suggestions that Los Colchoneros have a purchase option on Pacheco at the end of the loan, and have agreed to sub-loan him out so as to avoid paying his wages up until they have the option to buy.

Alright lads, I've heard a rumour for once. We're looking to address the wage bill, so Coates could only come in once the Greek left, hence him leaving on a free. N'Gog will leave if we sign Bellamy, but Bellamy's wages will be higher than N'Gog's. So we are still very interested in the possbility of moving on Joe Cole and bringing in a winger on a lower wage. The name I've heard is Celtic's Paddy Mccourt.

Red Ollie

McCourt has been of interest, but only marginally. RED LENIN

Not a chance in Hell mate.

2 million quid for joe cole, and we'll even take ngog off your hands if you reduce it to 1 million...

Pat McCourt, legend, and liverpool is the perfect club for him- and i'd bargain that his taste in irish connections would push him in liverpools direction. Can't go wrong for a few million- but do it now- northern ireland play serbia next, and a super performance there will put him out of your price bracket

Regarding the Sebastian Coates visa issues and the possibility of him having a Spanish passport or even having to apply for a Spanish passport, does anyone think the recent trip to Spain by DC had anything to do with us checking his eligibility for said passport - makes perfect sense to me - what say you Eds??

ash240970 {Ed002's Note - It won't be anything to do with it. His eligibility is based on simple criteria - nobody would need to get on a plane to see if they can be met.}

A few months back, i posted on here that we were due to sign Bellamy and he was ready to take a paycut.

I was ridiculed by many fans ...

Eds could back me up on this ...

LONDONRED {Ed011's Note - Bellamy is taking a big pay cut to join liverpool on a free}

U being sarcastic or being 4 real

I would have Bellamy back in a shot. He would be a superb back up or someone to introduce from the bench with 30 mins to go. He winds opposition players up and he likes to win. Allright, he gets his fair share of bookings through his mouth but he has got celtic blood in him. If the deal happens i would say WELCOME BACK NOW GO AND WIN. cheers Robbie

Not really a rumour but if we do pull off Coates and Bellamy we really should look at the squad and give Mr Henry a big thanks... He went out during this transfer window and done exactly what he said he would do. Exciting times at anfield...the flow might not be there yet... But look at the hunger.

Amen to that

TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU...!

Well said. Good to know someone else noticed other than me. We seem to collect more and more complainers for fans every year. How soon they forget the position we were in only 11 months ago.

Well said fellow red!!!

Agree 100% there have been flashes of the 'flow' in the past 2 games, patience reds, this is by far the strongest squad we have had in recent seasons

We have had so many let downs during the last 3-4 years but i am really excited at the moment with the things happening on and off the pitch, the owners have done their part so lets not forget the huge part we (the fans) have to play, well done to one and all.

Coates And Sturridge

Agreed mate. Some very good quality signings that are all good enough to play in the first team. The depth to the squad as got better and we have been able to shift some of the deadwood as well.
Very well done to the KK, DC and the owners for bringing in the right blend of player who I think will enhance the team.

Just think.... 6 months ago our best link to a player was Zamora...... 'nuff said......

Good call 100%

Yes I agree with you.Last summer we would of been lucky to finish in the top half.Looking back at our signing's(Konchesky & Poulsen) and our proud name being dragged through the mud,it felt like the end of the world. But now we have a good squad and renewed optimism.
Come on the POOL.YNWA
