The Echo reporting that Balotelli left a training session with a fake Hamstring injury to get an iPhone 6. Is this true to your knowledge, Ed, or is it just hearsay intended to hurt his image even more.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - it appears to be true, certainly it is believed to be true by others at the club. Only he will really know though.}

26 Aug 2015 19:35:44
That's a shame to hear. Guess it's funny that he didn't know who Joe Allen was, though! Probably knew him better as the 'Welsh Xavi'.

You'd think he'd be able to afford the 6 plus

I actually though Balotelli would man up and realise that his career is going in the dumpster, and try his best to play at his potential. I was so wrong, and great to see him gone. First weeks he seemed like he was trying atleast, do some pressing, going on some runs, chasing bad passes but allready after 4-5 games it was obvious he wasnt going to make it at liverpool.

For me his best performance was against Spurs away early in season, when he played alongside Sturridge. Unfortunately that's all we got.

He's a spoiled, attention-seeking child who just isn't very bright and has a terrible attitude to hard work. You could argue that he has proper psychological issues resulting from various things but I just don't care anymore. It's not Liverpool's (or any employers) job to give him love and affection, stroke his ego or put up with his mischief, there simply can't be one rule for everyone else and another for Mario. I was stunned and disgruntled when I heard my club was buying Balotelli. They didn't heed the warning from City and our striker struggles were the leading cause (of many) for being quite crap in the Champions League and large parts of the season. Much money wasted but I just hope lesson learned. Bye bye Mario, now just please don't mess up the loan move and end up darkening our doorstep again.

Rumours of Lucas staying now, please let this be true ! Is this because of Hendos injury ed?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - no it was always in the balance, he loves it at the club.}

26 Aug 2015 18:42:54
ed001, how comes your info said BR did not rate Lucas ?

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - because Rodgers does not rate his role as necessary. I should have made it more clear that it was a case of the type of player he is being the issue rather than Lucas himself or his ability.}

26 Aug 2015 18:46:16
Ed1 if he stays it could be one of the best piece of business this summer? Do you see a new contract on the horizon for him?

Agree6 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I would expect so, we do need to hold on to him, in my opinion.}

26 Aug 2015 20:16:30
Sorry Ed but is it a rumour about Lucas or is he 100% staying?I pray to God he stays.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Nothing is certain.}

26 Aug 2015 20:16:30
Sorry Ed but is it a rumour about Lucas or is he 100% staying?I pray to God he stays.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - As far as I, abd others, are concerned, the club has made an absolute mess of transfers this summer. I expect to see the club being active in selling in January and looking to negotiate the buy to sell deals during May and June as they will be then have a clearer idea of the mess they are in. Nothing is 100%.}

26 Aug 2015 20:39:43
Only a foolish coach will want to do away with a DM like Lucas who IMO, is third only to Matic and may be Fernandinho in the PL.

Agree0 Disagree4

26 Aug 2015 22:07:20
Personally think that Lucas would regret leaving the moment he signed for someone else. He definitely wants more trophies here than just a league cup.

27 Aug 2015 04:48:55
Wish more players would be as professional as Lucas, great player and a true Gentleman. Hope for his sake that BR is not takin a piss on him, another season not playing first team fotball would not be good for him.

27 Aug 2015 09:47:16
I couldn't agree more. He gives us so much composure. He doesn't want the limelight just to play football. Give the guy a new deal.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Aug 2015 09:25:59
Ed 2. In what way have the club made an absolute mess of transfers in your opinion?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Buying players they cannot afford, not selling players because they ask too much, the man management of players like Jones and Lucas .....}

Any truth to our Kuba interest?
Rumour has been floating around today.

Blaszczykowski? He's 29, had an awful season due to injury, and plays in a position that we have umpteen players for already. I'm going to say, nnnnno.
Looks like agent talk to drum up interest. United & Arsenal supposedly interested as well? I hardly think so.

I don't know who starts the chants etc at Anfield but it would be fantastic for this news to be recognised.

On this forum it's plain to see that he is highly rated and a regarded as a key component, be great that he hear this from the stands.

Morning Eds

Is it likely that we will be able to move Borini on this window as only a few days left now. Do you no the club who are modt interested on him.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Yes, Inter.}

26 Aug 2015 08:09:12
Will it be another loan?

{Ed002's Note - I don't know the details but the clubs have an agreement.}

Ed001, I've got a couple questions if you're around. Any idea what the plans are for Ryan McLaughlin? We have Clyne and Gomez now, as well as Flanno who will hopefully be fit in the next few months. Not to mention Wisdom out on loan and Alexander-Arnold showing promise. I thought I remember Brendan really liking McLaughlin at one point. Then he went on loan, to Barnsley I think, and he hasn't been anywhere near the first team recently from what I can tell.

Also, after Rossiter's league debut, who would you guess to be the next academy player or two to follow in his footsteps? Obviously you can't see into the future, but I'd enjoy the insight.

Thanks, appreciate the work!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - McLaughlin has struggled with injury for a while now, right now it looks like he will be going out on a loan or permanent deal. The problem is that his loans have not worked out for him, so there is little interest now.

Possibly Brannagan, or Chirivella, they are both close. Pepjin will be working with a group, which will probably solidify over the next month or two, giving us a good idea of who will be next.}

26 Aug 2015 07:41:09
I figured that would be the case with McLaughlin eventually. It's a shame, a couple of years back I was thinking he could break into the first team at some point. He seemed like a Rodgers-esque fullback.

That's great about Brannagan and Chirivella. They both seem to have real quality on the ball, as well as a tactical sense. I'm hoping Sergi Canos can keep developing as well. He looks like he's really come along physically since he joined.

Thanks for the reply!

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - we have a very good crop of youngsters right now, they won't all make it, but given a few games here and there and their value will rise significantly. Then we can at least start getting some money back from the academy players who don't make it.}

26 Aug 2015 10:02:11
Unfortunately don't have time to follow up on the youngsters but of them (18 and under) who do you think have the most promise?

Looks like some of our over 18s are getting a chance to break the team (rossiter, ibe, texeira plus the likes of ojo in future) - but curious about the next bunch

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - of the U18s, I would have to say the lad we got from Barca, Bobby, stands out, but that could be just because I have seen a bit more of him than the others.}

26 Aug 2015 13:20:00
- Ojo scored his 1st goal for Wolves last night, with a good full season he could come back even better than Ibe.
- Toni Gomes scored a nice hat-trick the other day.
- Brooks Lennon comes highly rated and looks a player.
- Allan de Souza could develop into something special.
- We saw Alexander-Arnold in pre-season and his progress will be interesting.
- It's easy to forget Rossiter is still 18.
- There are many more with the potential to make the grade. As always I'm hoping one of the Irish lads can do it, it's been too long since we had a first-team Irishman at Liverpool. :)

I managed to catch the young squad over the summer against Waterford Utd, I know the opposition wasn't top class but McLaughlin came on for the 2nd half and looked a class above the rest with the exception of Sergi Canos, this boy was like lightening up and down the right side of midfield and was involved in 4 of the goals scored.

I appreciate it was only one game but they both looked good.

Hi Ed01 what do you make of Adam Phillips

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he looked a top prospect a while back but has yet to really kick on.}

27 Aug 2015 22:24:12
To be brutal, when a youngling goes on loan it's not how good they ;ook when they are playing well that counts - they've already had the benefot of coaching at a Premier League club and should look good in lower leagues. It's how good they look when they are off their game.

Hi eds just wondering on illori and teixeira is there any prem clubs interested in these guys on a loan. I can't beleive there is not a lot of interest in them particularly illori whose stock should be high after the summer. Teixeira also was brightens best player last year. Would love to see them get a loan move to a southampton Leicester or Swansea with the promise of playing for us next season. Although if sakho moves I would keep illori to play europa cups and cover prem ahead of toure. I would hope linders is pushing for these players to be involved

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Watford asked after Ilori. Derby, Leeds and Reading have asked after Teixeira.}
